The Handee Nutcracker: Mother Ginger

Aaaand here is the sweet Mother Ginger! Daisy Danger. I had some struggles with her colors but she looks really sweet (pun intended)

And here's how she looks with the rest

(I think Nick would be the last from the main 4 line up due to space being little, the next ones might be my ocs + Scout and Owen)

FYI her dress is meant to resemble a bit of a ginger house as I wanted to get a bit creative into her character. I did take some Inspo from the Rococo Era in France, as the some of the references I was looking for her dress I noticed it was from there

So, I decided to style her hair into those wigs and give her a dress shaped closely to the gown. I did try to go for a more pink, but legit she just looked like Princess peach, so I tried to play a bit of color until I accidentally put brown in the skirt part of her dress

I actually enjoyed how it looked and at first, I try to make it look like hot cocoa before realizing it is more fitting to make it like a gingerbread decor. The white fluff is the "snow" (as her dress is NOT candy lol) and the upper part is meant to be the roof

About her kingdom, in the "4 Realms movie" hers was the amusement kingdom, so I am leaning a bit more towards it, but make it more into the parties type of fun with her having some gingerbread-inspired dresses for the occasion. She's not exactly a party girl but rather a hostess

So, her kingdom of amusement would be like the place the other rulers love to visit and hang out with as Daisy often loves to be the mom friend + she's the caretaker of the Princess Scout (and someone has to make sure the kiddo doesn't get sick from all that candy lol)

I think Daisy would also be the type of person whom everyone can seek help, but will also get disciplined (as she may be sweet but she is firm) She is obviously very understanding and did not hesitate to put Riley under her wing when the guards of her kingdom found her

I am still debating whether Riley meets her first or the Mouse King, but either way, Riley would not trust Daisy at first, even though Daisy is nice to her, but I do think both will reach that sweet friendship as Daisy would totally be the person Riley would just cry to

Wanted to make a HFR oc that has a cute and ditzy Milly Thompson vibe but is actually a spy for a rival company (maybe the hypothetical one I talked about in my HFR 2 plot idea).

I can't decide if I should name her Peach or Ginger or maybe something else? I see her as a genuinely sweet person, but she'll do what she has to for her boss! She's a "newbie" at Vandelay doing temp work. She's mostly looking into the SPECTRA scandal to report back to her boss. She gets along well with Chai, but 808 is constantly glaring at her and always 10 seconds away from attacking her.

To any whome it may concern; I am very saddned to announce that Ginger passed away earlier today. Thank you so much for holding her in your thoughts and prayers until now.

While we made some initial progress with her health after finding and rescuing her, the severity of her dysplasia and the time she had spent immobile in the cold led to bowel issues that became quickly critical over the last couple of days—none of which was helped at all by the stress or the gravel she ingested after being abandoned.

Unfortunately, right when we most needed to get veterinary assistance, the weather completely prevented us from seeing the people we had an established treatment plan with. We were going to have to wait another two days to get her seen, which was really distressing, given her rapidly mounting pain. All I could do was pray to my Witch Mother (who oversees death, healing, and family ties).

At the very last second, though, a vet from out of town was able to be contacted, and she changed her plans so she could come to the nearest Humane Society with just enough time for me to reach her. Unfortunately, she didn't believe there was anything else that could be done for Ginger at this point, beyond compassionate euthanasia. At the very least, however, the timing ended up being exactly right for both my husband and my mother-in-law to come during their lunch breaks and send her off lovingly with me. Together, we held her and massaged her, and I whispered a death croon in her ear as she sank into a final rest. We we all wept for the path she came to us on, but we rejoiced for the chance we've had to offer her comfort, love, and companionship over the last week. Despite everything, she had many moments of peace and connection with us, which I hope and believe improved her remaining time.

I really wanted to be able to carry out the funerary rites we normally do, as a final respect for her—which includes cleaning anointing the body and then adorning the dead with local flora for a final mourning portrait—but the harsh weather and frozen ground made a burial exceedingly unrealistic. So, in the end, I took her body to a funeral home that was willing to cremate her. It was upon arriving there that I discovered a patch of white Hellebore nearby, which struck me as auspicious, given their association with death in general, and with my Witch Mother in particular. As such, I plucked a single blossom and used it to take a makeshift mourning portrait, then took the flower home with me to incorporate in a ritual send-off for her spirit, along with a fumigation of Benzoin and a dish of treats she especially enjoyed.

May the Quietus embrace you with all of the kindness and tenderness you deserve, dear Ginger. ♡
