So Frozen 2. The first movie is about self-acceptance. This movie is about self-discovery. Elsa feels that while everything is going good for her at the moment in her Kingdom of Arendelle that she’s not where she belongs - not who or where she’s meant to be. Elsa accidentally awakens the four spirits (Air, Fire, Water and Earth) of the enchanted forest when she hears a voice calling to her and she listens to it. Anyway, they get called out to the enchanted forest by Gale (spirit of Air) to put things right in the past between their Kingdom and the indigenous tribe of Northuldra and Elsa learns her true nature. We eventually find out that she’s hearing the voice because she is the fifth spirit and the voice that’s calling her is her from the future.
The truth was calling out to her because longtime lies from their past needed to be uncovered. Longtime lies that have segregated an entire community of people that were meant to be together. They were meant for their lives to be intertwined as Anna and Elsa’s mother was Northuldran and their father was Arendellian.
So it’s all about finding the right “path” or “way” which is always a compelling story to tell in fiction. And of course, it’s not just Elsa that discovers who she truly is and what she’s meant to be doing with her life. Anna becomes Queen of Arendelle and marries Kristoff while Elsa remains in the enchanted forest with the other spirits as the bridge between the magic of nature and humanity as well as a protector of it.
And it’s just as emotionally powerful as the first movie if not more for the reason that - once again - these are dark concepts to be exploring in a children’s franchise but ultimately they relate to and resonate with many diverse audiences who struggle with understanding who they are and their purpose in life just like them.
I always say that it’s worth it to go a little bit darker as long as you know how to use nuance and metaphor to tell a story in a number of different ways so that it can be accessible and beneficial for all ages and genders.

Talking about Ryder and his Importance
As said in my Honeymaren analysis, one of the most important lore and world-building aspects in Frozen 2 was the introduction of the Northuldra – a group of people to which Iduna originally belonged that is loosely inspired by the Sámi of Scandinavia.  They are a racially diverse group in F2 that live within the Enchanted Forest and have a close relationship with the Magical Spirits and Ahtohallan.
Unfortunately, the Northuldra do not get a lot of screen-time in the film, however, the prominent Northuldran characters still managed to stand out and be recognizable even with their small roles - one of these major characters being Ryder Nattura.
Ryder is Honeymaren's younger brother, and much like Honey, has a small, but prominent role within the film. He is described as a playful dreamer, always cracking a joke here and there while dreaming about exploring the world outside of the Enchanted Forest. He plays a larger role in Kristoff's story, the two becoming fast friends due to their shared love of reindeer, and helps him gain the confidence to ask Anna to marry him.
In Tribute
I felt it wouldn't be appropriate to talk about Ryder without mentioning the person he was based on. Chris Buck, the Director of Frozen, Frozen Fever, and Frozen 2, went through a terrible tragedy when he lost his son. The song The Next Right Thing is famous for being a song that represents the grief he and his wife went through. The overall themes of F2 were also inspired by this tragedy.
Jennifer Lee also wanted to give another tribute to Ryder Buck, so Ryder Nattura was named. He was also based off of Ryder's hopeful personality.
“We’ve given him more to do because he’s a very light spirit, he’s a very positive character. He’s actually really fun, really, like I said, kind of hopeful.” - Chris Buck
You can find out more about Ryder Buck's story here.
The Wingman
Ryder plays a fairly big role in Kristoff's story - some may say that all he did was suggest a proposal, but I would say he did a little bit more than that, and actually helped Kristoff in finding his own confidence.
Firstly, he helped Kristoff feel more comfortable with his relationship with Reindeer. It's a very small detail, but it's worth mentioning. Everyone in the series, other than Anna, was very critical of Kristoff's relationship with Sven. The citizens of Arendelle always assume the worst, like in F2 when they question Kristoff and Sven acting out his proposal. Even the Trolls call him out on it.
"Like his peculiar brain dear, his thing with the reindeer, that's a little outside of nature's laws!"
However, when Ryder suddenly comes along and starts making his own Reindeer talk, Kristoff is shocked and happy.
Kirstoff: Wait, you talk for them too?! Ryder: I do. Kristoff: It's like you can actually hear what they're thinking? Ryder: Yeah and you.. you just say it! Kristoff: And then you just say it.
It's such a goofy interaction, and obviously meant to be funny, but it also feels so heartwarming at the same time. Kristoff finally found a friend who gets his peculiar interests. You can honestly hear the relief and happiness in his voice when he says "And then you just say it."
I think this interaction actually helped Kristoff slowly start to become more confident, along with the actual proposal attempt.
The proposal is over the top and full of emotion, in which Kristoff says everything on his mind about Anna even before his final proposal. The two proposals are very similar -
"Princess Anna of Arendelle. My feisty, fearless, ginger-sweet love. Will you marry me?"
"Anna, you are the most extraordinary person I've ever known. I love you with all I am, will you marry me?"
Obviously, the second one is more emotional and, however, you can see that Kristoff was just as confident and loving in the previous attempt - showing how Ryder was able to help Kristoff be more open and honest about his feelings by introducing the Northuldran ceremony.
His overall support of Kristoff, without even knowing him that well, also shows his kindness and willingness to help others, even when he is unsure.
Kristoff: I can't seem to get her attention. Or even say the thing. Ryder: Well, you're in luck, I know nothing about women. But I do know that we have the most amazing way of proposing, If we start now, we'll be ready at dawn.
Ryder was an important aspect of Kristoff's development, and Kristoff would've probably still struggled with his feelings if not for Ryder trying to help. While it did lead to a misunderstanding when the two left to prepare for the proposal, this situation was necessary so that Kristoff could better understand his emotions and become a better partner to Anna.
The Dreamer
While a lot of Ryder's personal development isn't explored, we do get a small glimpse of his dreams - and we get to see them fulfilled.
One of the first things Ryder says is -
"Ryder: Free the forest… Wow… I'm sorry, It's just… ah, Some of us were born in here, we've never even seen the clear sky."
Here, we see how Ryder is hopeful to see the sky. As described by him here and within the Frozen 2 guide, Ryder was born in the Enchanted Forest after the Battle of the Dam, thus he never saw what life outside the forest was like. It also describes how he longs to explore the world.
When he finally gets to see the sky, it is wonderful for him to finally get his wish. You can really feel the happiness and excitement in his words.
Ryder: Look at the sky. I just didn't realize there was so much of it.
Future Potential
Ryder has a huge amount of potential as a character. His kind and supportive nature, as well as his big dreams of exploring the world, give us so many possibilities and situations to explore with this character.
As with all the Northuldran characters, Ryder, like his sister, deserves his time to shine and be explored in more depth. I can only hope that the writers also feel this way, and will give Ryder his time to shine, especially now that the whole world is at his fingertips.

Ideas for other frozen universe movies(I can give more explanation on any if anyone wants it, just ask!)
1. Anna and Elsa's mom. Aka her life growing up northuldran to when she saved their dad to when they got married, to when she had Anna and elsa.
2. Kristoff's childhood. Aka getting abandoned, then adopted by the trolls
3. Iduna's(elsa Anna mom) family. I think that family all has powers. We know that other people have powers and therefore must be the 5th spirit because the trolls implied it. Elsa is a human with the water spirit. I think her mom has the air spirit because of how she saved agnarr. Pls ask me about this one!!!
4. Ahtohallan's creation. I'm assuming the creation of the 5th spirit.
5. The rapunzel side of things. I know it is believed that rapunzel is related through agnarr, but what if it was iduna and one of rapunzel's parents was northuldra!!!
6. Marshmallow and olaf's love story
7. Oaken and his husband and family. I think oaken started the shop, then fell in love with a traveler, then they took in any abandoned kids who stopped by.
8. ELSA AND HONEYMAREN OMG!!!!!!!
Guys, I will probably end up making follow up posts about at least some of these but like, I have MANY theories, so pls pls pls pls pls pls pls ask me about them!!!!!!!!!!!

Elsa and Anna reunite fanfic
Tumblr media
This is exactly what I want in Frozen 3 or the upcoming podcast! Anna breaks down, letting out all the emotions she's feeling inside, to Elsa.
The podcast starts with Anna having a lot on her plate and then she now has to deal with the spirit dilemma. It's unclear what Elsa is doing given she's the literal protector of the forest but that will most likely be revealed when the podcast is out.
I mean think about it, Anna had always been going out carefree and spirited, not having to worry about anything. She was the princess and Elsa was the Queen. She knew Elsa could handle the Queenly pressure. But I don't think Anna was ever officially trained to be Queen by Elsa. In some magazine comics, she was made Queen for a day. But that's just for a day. Anna has been made Queen until her time comes while Elsa lifts all the responsibilities off her own shoulders and joins the people of the forest as their protector. As I suspected Anna would find it pressuring, not just because she's Queen but because Elsa isn't here to help her as often as she'd like. Elsa's free. Anna's not. Before Elsa wasn't and Anna was.
But I think personally Elsa should've stayed Queen. It suits her personality and how different of a ruler she was to others not just because she has powers. I'm not saying Queen doesn't suit Anna, I just think Anna isn't ready yet. Being Queen shouldn't be about not being free. It should be about how you chose to rule your kingdom. And now that it's been revealed that her grandfather betrayed everything Arendelle stands for by building the dam to reduce Northuldran resources and then killing the then Northulra leader, it should give Elsa more of a reason to bring the two tribes together as Queen. But she let Anna do that.
But let's see how the podcast goes story wise and then we can guess what might happen in Frozen 3. The more I read about the podcast, the more excited I get. I can't wait!

The potential of Sora going with Elsa to Ahtohallan and seeing Riku’s sacrifice and/or memories of Riku he doesn’t remember...I would actually bawl my eyes out at the emotional impact if they revealed the necklace scene through ice sculptures, making Sora flashback to real thing because it would line up well with Elsa and Anna realizing their mother’s scarf that Elsa always wears is Northuldran, hinting at her hidden ancestry and Riku’s.

I'm still seeing this question from time to time: why Elsa is the Fifth Element or more specific, why ice since it is just a solid water?
Water is known as the element crucial to all life and living. In Frozen verse( and in some real world theories) it can carry the knowledge/markings of what and where it has been through. It is everywhere, in everyone. Some say that certain words or music can affect the structures of water. Scandinavian myths tell about the rivers of ice and the fire sparks from which the living world appeared. Finnish Kalevala tells about the world of infinite water and the heaven duck who was swimming there at the beginning. In the Torah we see "the spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters".
So, water is important.
But closer to Elsa. Ahtohallan is known as the source of Elsa's magic, "Elsa's source". Elsa said "Ahtohallan is frozen". You see? The source of magic and truth in the film named Frozen, the film that is about the ice magic is a frozen glacier. But it's not just some place, it is a seita/sieidi(Saami sacred Natural object).
We also know that Ahtohallan is a dwelling of a mysterious Spirit with the same name. In various Frozen sources she is called Mother Spirit, White River, Mother of All Spirits, Mother full of memory. From the Shipwreck Manuscript we know that she created the elemental spirits and sun that gave life to the Earth. So, she has the power and authority over other spirits. (They were so surprised to see her special sign in the sky.)
Ancient Northuldrans knew about Ahtohallan (and later included the prophecy of the Fifth Spirit in their folklore) but then something unknown happened and she and her glacier were lost/almost forgotten. Then the idea of the Fifth Spirit appeared, the idea of someone who can manifest these powers, who can be the mediator and representative, who can harmonise Nature. (Mattias also would add "perhaps to make up for the actions of the people") Yelana indirectly referred to Ahtohallan as to "Nature" that rewarded Elsa with magic, and said that they trust and listen to her.
Icy Ahtohallan incarnated her magical powers of ice into Elsa, and that's why Elsa's ice can tame elementals, can create living things, can create various of nonliving things, can revive memories and who knows what else she is able to do. Because Ahtohallan could do all this before, she is a living entity and that's why this Magic of Nature is affected by Elsa's living emotions, and itself can feel as Elsa said to Anna after Into The Unknown, "my magic can feel it. I can feel it." (As if the magic feels the kinship with Ahtohallan, and Elsa herself feels Iduna's plea.)
The Fifth Element of Frozen given to Elsa is ice because it's Ahtohallan element and a divine power.

So, we know that there's going to be a Frozen 3 and 4. I hope that they acknowledge in the future films that Elsa and Anna are both the fifth spirit because they're the bridge, it has two sides. But I'm really wondering what it'll be about. Will they take ideas from the novels, finally show Anna and Kristoff being married -- will he finally get a backstop and not be a side character like Olaf and Sven?
It's called Frozen for a reason. And all that really ha was Kristoff went missing. So, it's very easy to have him look for his parents or them look for him.
Tumblr media
Now, I'm a personal fan of Yelena, Honeymaren and Ryder being related to Anna and Elsa. Iduna is seen as a lost member of the family and so most people don't remember her. Hence saying the shall is of the tribe and not specifically their mother. And I would just like them to not be forgotten again. I want to see the conflict, the harmony and how the Northuldrans don't trust trust Arendelle people.
Tumblr media
Elsa and Anna are Nordic, they're in the 1800s, please for everything holy dive down deep into their mythologies. There's so much to be added into the movies to keep the plot alive.
Tumblr media
And for now, I hope Elsa stay single. Or if she does get a partner they are a magic user and her. Someone who's opposite of her upbringing. So she can see she was never a danger and it's the fear out into her head that made her lose confidence. Because we all know the incident is Anna's fault. But because it was done by Elsa, she was different and King Papi scared her she grew anxious and distant. So, if she did get a partner it'd be nice to her to see in another life she wouldn't have had to live so sheltered if her father trusted her. I would say a Jack Frost version or genderbent because it would hit different if they had ice powers too. Someone so happy and filled with life, who brings joy has the same magic as her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, yeah. Plus, either way, I need them to expand Elsa's powers. Like she controls ice and snow and she was born with these powers. I know she can become more powerful than she is. Literally need her to become a tank. Okay, bye.

The Magic in Love
I just...I wanted to write, first of all.. And I wanted to write a scene of Anna watching Elsa be beautiful with her magic, and the feelings that come from that. So this is lots of mush and softness and stuff read if you need emotions okay *~~~~~*~~~~~* "Wow! She's amazing, isn't she?" "Look at her magic! She can do so much!" "Oh oh! You missed it, she made the reindeer statue skate!" The corners of Anna's mouth tugged upwards in yet another smile as she listened to the words of those around her. Indeed, her sister was impressive to watch, something Anna never tired of doing. How could she when Elsa spun around the way she did and shot sparkling ice from her seemingly dainty fingertips, manipulating such power to her own will?
She had to admit that tonight's particular scene was intensified by the beating of drums from the Northuldra. Elsa danced in time along with a few members of the tribe, her white dress and cape sleeves whirling in the soft glow of street lanterns. The various diamonds and bits of ice that adorned her clothes almost seemed too showy, but then she would slow down with the rhythm and cross her arms over herself, hands stroking down her own arms as tendrils of ice wrapped around them. Her head bowed down, dress only moving with the breeze. Ice crystals manifested in the air all around and turned serenely. They made no sound but Anna still felt a gentle chime in her bones, something soothing and almost alarming at the same time.
There were 'oohs' and 'aahs' all around as Arendellians and Northuldrans alike were impressed. Even the children who played on the ice playground and animals that Elsa created for them had to stop and take in the scene. No one could turn away from what they saw. Had time stopped?
Anna felt like the luckiest girl in the world.
The music began to speed back up. Elsa brought her head back up with such a brilliant smile that it went straight to Anna's heart. Her blue eyes sparkled and her gaze centered on Anna, who met it right back with a knowing look.
Sure, the dance and the show was for the people of their kingdom, of their huge home. It was for those they held dear and wanted to nurture, wanted to protect. The queens strived to do all they could for their people, from hours of meetings and signing documents to entertainment - both mingling and shaking hands, to putting their abilities and joy on display.
As much as they shared - they also had their own beauty that they kept between themselves.
The smile that Elsa directed at Anna was the same beautiful smile she greeted her with every morning when Anna groggily woke up. Elsa's enchanting eyes met Anna's at night when they laid together in their bed and Elsa told her she looked beautiful.
When Anna looked at the ice crystals in the air, she did see the admiration in the eyes of the audience. She also saw the light from the fireplace dancing off of them as they hugged the wall of their room and Elsa brushed her red hair with one of her many fancy brushes.
Elsa's own hair swirled with her as she began to pick up the dance in earnest, and so Anna's thoughts jumped again. Anna knew the feeling of that light blonde, nearly white hair draped on either side of her head like a curtain. Sometimes the ends would slide down over her shoulders and the light touch would tickle. When she giggled, Elsa found it hard not to giggle back before her lips pecked every bit of Anna's freckled face. It would make Anna giggle even more and wiggle under her, which she knew was Elsa's goal all along.
"How does she do that!?"
"Oooh pretty lights!"
Another chorus of gasps sounded around Anna as Elsa raised her arms up quickly and as she did, ice rose sharply from the ground beneath as if on marionette strings. Each piece had a glow about it, some white, some purple, and some blue. Anna never asked why Elsa had such color abilities, but she didn't care.
Elsa would create glowing ice around their room, sometimes surrounding Anna when she lay in the bed without a shred of fabric on her. When Elsa made her glow like that Anna could feel it coming from her heart in return. Each time, she was overcome with the sense that she never knew she could feel the way she did in that moment, with Elsa sighing over her.
A few loud bangs on the drums pulled Anna momentarily from her thoughts along with applause. They were reaching the climax of the dance, and maybe soon the end of the night. Anna was hit with a familiar feeling of excitement for the finish, and never wanting it to reach that point.
Flurries of glimmering snow shot from Elsa's fingers, and minor blasts from her hands. There was care and control to each show of magic, presented to dazzle everyone around. Those hands never failed to deliver and Anna shivered thinking about how Elsa's fingers would trace icy patterns over her skin. She would trace flowery designs down her stomach and legs, gaze flickering up now and then to watch Anna watching her. Anna couldn't take her eyes off her and Elsa was all too aware of that.
Then those hands would cup Anna's face, the cool touch a welcome relief to the heat that was almost always reddening her cheeks. The frozen pads of her fingers would skim over Anna's parted lips as Elsa took her time watching her, studying her. She would sometimes do it for quite a while. Anna didn't care if Elsa was making her body a work of art or simply looking at her - she didn't want it to end.
After all that time and with how much she loved her sister, she couldn't stand for it to end.
It always did, and as such, the dance came to a sudden striking end as she shot a massive blast of ice into the air to explode into several large snowflakes. They stood out strikingly against the dying light of the day and everyone gasped, yet again. Then they clapped and yelled and Elsa's body relaxed, as did her fellow Northuldran performers. Once again a celebration had come to a joyful finish, at least for the time being. Undoubtedly, people would party into the night as they always did.
Anna knew she and Elsa would, whether or not in would include the soft glows and smiles or glasses of wine with a choice circle of guests. As much as she fantasized during the dance - she was happy to be with Elsa no matter what they were up to.
Not one to wait and let others compliment her first, Anna rushed forward from her place with most of the royal council. She hurried so much she tripped over her own two feet and stumbled right into a surprised Elsa's arms before hugging her so tight that the blonde made a strangled huff.
"That was amazing! You're amazing!" Anna told her excitedly, smooshing their cheeks together. "Everything about that was just do beau-perfifull..ack..." Of course she was tongue-tied within seconds. That always happened, too, no matter what she did. She could think all the coherent, enchanting thoughts she wanted, but rarely did anything end up coming out smoothly.
As usual, it made Elsa laugh, which was music to Anna's ears. Some things never did change - and she was beyond thankful for it.

An alternate take on "Frozen II" (2019)
Tumblr media
I'm back! I wasn't expecting to do a rewrite for this, but considering how polarized the feedback for this film is, I wanted to give my own spin on it--but keep in mind, this takes into account my rewrite for "Frozen," so read that first! You have NO IDEA how hard this was to rewrite, especially since I had to alter a lot. Hope you enjoy this, and be sure to check out my rewrites for other revival-era films!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again: make use of the concept art! Unlike part 1, it doesn't really look historically/culturally accurate to medieval Scandinavia, but at least it looks amazing! Maybe the silhouettes could be changed to make it more accurate. Keep the color schemes, though; I love the oranges and reds used for Anna rather than her black look used in the final product--and yes, I know the last picture is from her Arendelle festival dress at the beginning of the film; I'd like it to be formatted to her travel dress (I like the silvery-grey coat though), as well as using the blues and greens for Elsa.
Tumblr media
2. Stay in Arendelle a little bit longer. If you recall my "Frozen" remake, it's a larger kingdom, and I'd like to see it a bit more during "Some Things Never Change" and before we relax in the castle. Considering my other changes, it works out fine; they could be perusing the town when Elsa hears the magical voice. And Liutenant Mattias and his group are never trapped in Northuldra; they remain in Arendelle and didn't have a large role in part 1 due to Agnarr's advice to the staff to keep an emotional distance from the royals.
Tumblr media
3. Hans is Anna's main love interest, being a genuine good guy here, and joins the team on their adventure. Given the events of the first film, they actually have been engaged for a while, as Anna is working on her relationship with Elsa and Hans is trying to bond with (some of) his brothers. He's also earned bonus sister points from Elsa because he serves as a confidant to her. Despite being engaged, Kristoff hoped Anna's feelings would've changed, but despite caring for him, she chose Hans.
Tumblr media
4. Explore Northuldra culture more, and make Arendelle ancestors (a separate culture from the Northuldra) Sami-inspired. I find it a waste that the Northuldra simply existed to give Elsa a hint to the voice and serve as the victims of a colonial story. In my opinion, they don't live THAT far from Arendelle; they just stay a little ways away, enough to keep their cultural distance while still keeping in touch with current events. Plus they're not stuck in one area. In my version, their mythology would have a BIG impact on the story.
Tumblr media
5. Remove Iduna's Northuldra origins. Maybe it's just me, but I do think Iduna doesn't look Northuldran. In my version, she was from a tribal group, racially similar to the people of Arendelle and hidden thanks to the trolls (and I'd also make Kristoff related to them as well). Or if we wanna utilize more of the Nordic mythology, she can be descended from elves, who are said to live in Ahtohallan, where Elsa ventures to find out the origins of the voice.
Tumblr media
8. What were different elements in the film now embody seasons: Bruni (summer), Nokk (spring), Gale (fall), and Elsa (winter), which can be spiritual or in corporeal form, usually the former. The nokk (as per mythology) can also shapeshift. I'm removing the rock giants, since they don't really serve a purpose in my rewrite.
Tumblr media
9. "I Can't Lose You" is included. After finding out the REAL reason their parents died, Elsa feels awful for how she blamed their deaths on Anna, and Anna attempts to prevent Elsa from shutting her out again, but Elsa is realizing that she's now at a point where Anna may not be able to understand (or survive) Elsa's destiny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. After Elsa sends away Hans, Olaf, and Anna, a new trio forms: Elsa, Honeymaron (who joins the team to help uncover the secrets of the voice), and the spirit of a previous winter incarnation named Cajetan. Elsa is able to summon him thanks to her own abilities tied to memory (it's mentioned the nokk can do so as well). A Northuldran from decades ago, he silently guides Elsa throughout he journey to find the voice, with Honeymaron bridging certain gaps in unspoken communication that may be lost on someone not from Northuldra. Can't decide whether or not Cajetan is like a little brother to Elsa or a hinted-at love interest (like I'd make Honeymaron). Regardless, Elsa does have higher priorities here than romance, but the seeds can be sew. The other trios are Anna/Hans/Olaf and Kristoff/Ryder/Sven. It's also revealed the previous embodiment of winter killed Kristoff's parents, as well as many of the ethnic group that lived with the trolls. Elsa suffers a lot of guilt for this, and thus involves Kristoff less in their journey, not wanting to hurt him, especially given that he's still reeling about Anna and Hans' upcoming wedding.
Tumblr media
11. "Lost in the Woods" is about Kristoff letting go of his feelings for Anna as she decides to marry Hans, with possible hinting at him being attracted to Ryder, as well as reeling from the reason his family was taken from him.
Tumblr media
12. We get a physical, PRESENT, villain. Sound exciting right? Well, my idea for the villain might lose a few people. Diving into the world's religion a bit more, I do like the idea that the Northuldrans (as well as the Arendelle people's cousins) spoke of an embodiment of destruction and chaos, a being that made seasons violent and dangerous, and prevents them from coinciding. Their goal is chaos, hoping to rebirth the world and crafting the wretched mirror that Arendelle royalty eventually gained possession of. Failing to convince Elsa to freeze Arendelle (and eventually the world), they turned their attention to the other spirits, who, due to lacking a human form, were easier to manipulate and control, using them to corrupt Elsa, who could also be the most destructive force if they to control her. The nokk attempts to flood Arendelle, Bruni burns up the Northuldra forest (causing them to relocate to Arendelle for a period) and Gale killing off other forms of life by taking their breath away until there isn't even a breeze in the air. Perhaps I've played too many video games, but I love the idea that he oversees much of the heroes like a deity would, similar to Eris from "Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
13. Change Elsa's origins. When Runeard dies in a frost, Iduna prays for the spirit of winter to be born as someone to bring Arendelle out of it's dark age, resulting in Elsa. "Love," as to be expected, is an honorary 5th element, and it's revealed that humans can only embody the seasons if true love is involved. It also explains why Agnarr abhors magic and attempts to put on a tough front. All of this is shown at Ahtohollan thanks to the magical elves who imbue wisdom to her. She spends a bit more time there before leaving, with "Show Yourself" being sung once she's there, and they're able to show her other memories of her family and show how much her parents loved her. Perhaps the "You are the one you've been waiting for" line is sung by the benevolent primordial entity. And Elsa is able to let go of the past discretions of the frost that killed her grandfather and Kristoff's parents.
Tumblr media
14. The ending is a bit more open-ended. The chaotic deity is defeated, though it's noted that such things cannot be defeated, simply diminished or banished, similar to what Elsa does by working with the other seasons to defeat the deity. Elsa realizes that unlocking her full potential has made her a target for the deity's wrath, but she believes as long as she has those she cares about, then she can get through anything (it's cheesy, but it's true!) However, she does decide that she wants to learn more about the seasons and the magical world, and asks Anna to be a regent in her stead. Anna (and Hans) accept, with a bittersweet goodbye. The film ends with Anna and Hans kissing (and Olaf watches) while Kristoff, Sven, Elsa, and her seasonal contemporaries make for Northuldra, where Ryder, Honeymaron, and Cajetan await them.
One again, I've got A LOT going on with this remake. Maybe it needs to be a 2 hour movie. PLEASE let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions! I may tweak this later.
Update: I've also made a post about my own take if I was in charge of a Disney movie about the Snow Queen. This adaptation is independent of my Frozen remakes.

Elsa Comes Out (Frozen 2 Fanfic)
The fireplace glowed warmly in the castle of Arendelle. Elsa hugged a pillow in her arms and sighed as she looked at the fire.
She wore her Fifth Spirit gown and had her platinum-blonde hair flowing. Her eyes were hypnotically drawn to the fire and it somewhat reminded her of Bruni and Honeymaren.
She was staying at the castle for the night. Oh, about Honeymaren…Elsa couldn’t keep thinking about her or her well-thought plan. The plan that she was going to tell Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf that…she was gay.
Suddenly, the voice of her sister Anna broke her trance. “Elsa?”
Anna wore her hair in her usual braids and she wore a lime green nightgown. Her husband Kristoff was with her and so was Olaf and Sven.
“You wanted to talk to us about something?” Kristoff asked as the three sat down and Sven sat as well.
“Yes.” Elsa replied.
“Y’know, you can tell us whatever you want.” Olaf said, a smile around his face.
Elsa smiled as well and let go of the pillow. The time has come…and she thought it was time to put her plan into action. She stood up and faced the others. Anna still had a smile on her face and Elsa took a deep breath.
She kept making breaths in her head and thought, “Come on, Elsa Oldenburg*! You built an ice castle by yourself, saved Arendelle and Northuldra from permanent conflict, and became pretty much became a god or spirit of ice! What’s so hard with telling them your orientation?!” She then blushed a bit and said, “Anna…Kristoff…Sven…Olaf…”
“Uh-huh?” Olaf was definitely on board.
“There’s something urgent that I need to tell you about…It’s something that I’ve kept a secret about myself until I met Honeymaren and moved to the Enchanted Forest and I just can’t keep it in anymore…”
Sven let out a grunt of confusion and Elsa sighed. She kept telling herself to keep calm and crossed her arms. “…I…I…”
“You’re a god?” Kristoff interrupted.
“No…Hehe…” Elsa chuckled and kept her blush. She finally said the words, “…I…I…I’m gay.”
The four on the couch were shocked and Elsa knew this would happen. “So, I like women instead of men…You probably hate me now…”
Anna smiled and said, “I would never hate you. In fact, I kinda…I kinda always knew.”
“W-What?”
“We’re sisters. We share a mind and…” Anna‘s kind smile turned into a mischievous smirk. “…I saw you eyeballing Honeymaren back at the campfire all those months ago. Trust me.”
“Wow…My sister knew I was gay the entire time…and I hid it from her because I was scared…”
“Elsa, you never had to be scared to tell me what you like!” Anna put a hand on her sister’s shoulder. “Same-sex marriage is legal in Arendelle, and you’re my sister.” she wrapped Elsa in a hug. “I’ll always love and support you like I have before.”
Kristoff joined in the hug. “Although I’m confused as all heck, I’m happy for you, Elsa.”
“Yeah.” Olaf agreed.
“And we love and encourage you all the way!” Sven “said.”
“Awe, thank you. Sven!” Elsa gave the reindeer’s head a kiss.
“Only question I have is…Have you told the Northuldrans?” Anna asked.
“Yes, and they have gave me love and support like what you guys are having.”
“Well, what are you gonna do now?”
“I believe…I think I should ask Honeymaren out and see what she thinks…” Elsa replied.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help.”
Elsa had tears from her eyes out of happiness that Anna and everyone around her was supportive of her. “I love you all so much…”
And the five engaged in a massive hug that was kept warm by love and the fireplace…
THE END…
(Author’s Note: I headcanon Oldenburg to be Elsa and Anna’s last names)

Soo... about that new podcast...what do you think? Why announce it now, all of sudden. And is it connected to F3? If machines vs nature will be the main plot, well, the whole movie is spoilered lmao. ((and why not just make it a tv series??))
I’m guessing that they’re announcing it now ahead of the D23 Event in September. Maybe.
We actually have a lot of interesting side content coming this year, the newly announced Frozen Podcast: Forces of Nature coming October, Lost Legends: The Fixer Upper also in October, and All is Found: A Frozen Anthology in November.
Which means more updates that need to be done for my canon post. Pffft.
But back to the point. What do I think about the new podcast.
My first thought is, why not just make a series? Was it cheaper to do a podcast? Is the company really struggling that much right now (with not paying their animators and writers) that they can’t just give us a nice Frozen Series to bridge the gap between F2 and F3? A podcast just seems so…unreachable. Like, many fans are already not aware of novels and comics, and their canon is still being debated - are we really creating something that literally only die-hard fans would know about? Idk. It just seems very lazy. I know that Jen Lee and Chris Buck are busy with other projects, and the new director is probably busy with the third film - but come on Disney. A little more effort would be nice.
On that same note, why introduce more characters? The reason I’m bringing this up is because I would be genuinely sad if once again the Northuldran characters are pushed to the side. We really couldn’t get a Sami person to review/work on the story with the current writers? Again, if they are excluded, it just adds to the overall lazy feel of this project.
I hope I’m proven wrong and this project actually has a lot of work and dedication put into it.
On the subject of the plot - it seems interesting. I would honestly have to wait to see more details and be able to dissect the story to really give a more fair critique for it, but so far the idea of copper machines disrupting the balance of nature is intriguing.

𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐚 𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐫   —   INTRODUCTION
inspired  by  :  elsa ( frozen  ) / added inspo ! , dani clayton (  the haunting of bly manor ) , elphaba (  wicked  )  , meg march (  little women  )  , wanda maximoff (  marvel  )
full name. elsa mathilde arnadalr. faceclaim: l.ucy b.oynton ( future : r.achel m.cadams ) dob. december 22 ( winter solstice ) zodiac. capricorn occupation. crowned queen of arendelle / unemployed in elias. birthplace. arendelle, norway. orientation. lesbian song. porcelain - marianas trench. film. the polar express  education. secondary school. temperament. melancholic ( analytical, quiet, avoiding ) mbti. infj ( sensitive, private, thoughtful,  ) alignment. neutral good abilities. ice & snow magic / fifth spirit of the enchanted forest hogwarts house. ravenclaw emoji. ( ❄️ )
present
elsa fled to elias after her coronation. after a heated argument with her sister her powers were revealed to the citizens of corona.
since coming to elias she made friends with hades. elsa was unaware of his alliance with malfiencet. even when the monsters attacked she still sided with him finding a kinship in both of them being misunderstood. the god helped her with her powers. hades helped elsa realize there was beautiful in her magic not shame. she grew confident enough to remove her gloves.
her friendship with jack has also made her feel less alone in the world given his own ice powers.
her powers are still hidden from those she’s not close to. while elsa is more comfortable with her ice magic she still fears how others will react to her.
there is still so much she has yet to see and do after being hidden away for years. for the first time in her life she’s happy. as much as anna wants her to return to arendelle and be queen, elsa is content with the life she’s forging in elias.
since elsa was isolated for so many years and the gates of the kingdom were closed no one would know of her royal status unless they were royal themselves or lived in norway.
as for the mickey vs maleficent debate ??? because of her connection with hades … girly might side with maleficent
past
tw: elsa’s past mentions parental death & trauma.
born on the winter solstice to king agnarr and queen iduna, Elsa, was gifted with magical powers—the ability to control ice and snow—as a reward for her mother’s heroism when saving agnarr when they were teenagers. these powers would not manifest until she was three. Iduna was unaware of the origins of Elsa’s powers, but believed that they were born out of love and thus a gift rather than a curse since she was born from the union of an Arendellian and a Northuldran. She accepted her daughter’s uniqueness and correctly believed that Elsa was a gift from the forest’s spirits and born with her powers for a reason.
for years elsa used her powers mostly to entertain her younger sister anna. the two were close as can be. all was well until one night when elsa was merely eight years old she accidentally struck anna while playing with her. she struck anna in the head and knocked her out cold.
her parents sought help from the trolls. paddie, the shaman was able to cleanse anna of the magic, which included memories of elsa’s magic.
elsa was traumatized by the events. she almost killed her beloved sister.  after that night elsa was locked away in her room to keep herself safe but also anna. her father gifted her gloves that helped suppressed her powers. that’s where her mantra “conceal, don’t feel, don’t let it show” came from. for years elsa was distanced from others but instead of powers getting under control suppressing them only made them more unruly.
despite wanting elsa to conceal her powers, agnarr was optimistic that his daughter’s would learn to control her powers. her isolation was only temporary, however, the king and queen would never see the day elsa left her room. on the way to the celebration of the return of the lost princess in corona, the king and queen died. their ship was sunk due to extreme weather. distraught by their death, elsa lost control of her powers. she didn’t attend their funeral and after that elsa further isolated herself from anna.
three years after their passing elsa came of age to become queen of arendelle. it was the first time the gates would open to the public. it was the first time elsa would interact with anyone outside of her parents since she was eight. it wasn’t just the kingdom of arendelle but other neighboring kingdoms.
the night was going well. elsa even reunited with anna. all the worries she had began to melt away that is until her sister asked for her blessing to marry prince hans of the southern isles. elsa insisted that anna could not marry a man she just met. the two begin to argue until elsa says the party is over and the gates be closed immediately. of course anna only continued to push which not only made elsa anxious she grew overwhelmed with frustration to the point she accidentally unleashed her powers on anna and the guests. horrified by what she had done and fearing how people would react to her, elsa fled arendelle until she found herself in a city called elias.
future
elsa hasn’t had her ‘let it go’ moment yet so i would like to see that. she’s grown more confident yes but she hasn’t let go of anything. she still harbors a lot of anxiety and has yet to let her powers be seen to the public.
in the future, i want elsa to find out about the enchanted forest and her being the fifth spirit. eventually she’d be called forth to Ahtohallan and have her show yourself moment.
she would discover the truth about her parents, her family’s past and ties to the enchanted forest and know that her parents did love her. she would want to help bridge the Northuldra and the Arendellians.
i want elsa to heal from her trauma and realize she is not the monster she believes she is. she was a mere child who should have been given guidance instead of hidden away. she didn’t know any better.
like in frozen 2, she would give arendelle over to anna and leave to protect the enchanted forest. there she would find a sense of self and freedom.
i would hope she mends her relationship with anna. her mother knew that if anyone could help elsa with her powers it was her sister. healing will allow her to create a family of her own and hopefully do better for her kids than what she was given.
she has two children in the future: tzeitel, her daughter gifted by the water spirit and lachlan, her son gifted by the fire spirit.

Iduna is a swiftie?💜
The thing is, Iduna would need SOMETHING to help her adjust to living in Arendelle when she was first brought there. Folklore/Evermore would be really good because that cottagecore vibe that Taylor was going for in those albums (to get through the pandemic) could, perhaps, help Iduna adjust while still feeling close to her home. I know when I am really sad and feeling isolated, art is what gets me through. Music is what gets me through.
To listen to “Happiness” or “Evermore” with an Arendellian or Northuldran (Norwegian and Sami respectfully) version of it would be sad and held only by Iduna for years. She could share with no one, not even her daughters.
And then yeeeeaaarrrrsss later, her girls finds her music. And they can feel viscerally the pain their mother went through, grieving her home. Especially Elsa, with that misunderstood feeling.
Being the outsider.
