The gist of the pokemon au (after playing a single game) under the cut

This au turns out a lot more Tony-centric, actually XD it's his character journey more than Sophie's

The two of them meet in a Minor League fighting type gym. Sophie's there as a regular challenger getting ready for the proper Gym Challenge, she had just embarked on her journey. Tony is a trainer in the gym, aka one of the guys Sophie has to take down before challenging the gym leader. She can't help but notice him immediately: every single gym trainer she's ever met boasts a chipper overexcited attitude, but Tony gives off a strong "I hate every second of me being here" aura. He clearly goes through the motions in challenging her, and seems almost afraid of his own pokémon. Fighting type does not suit him, especially with the fact that the gym itself and the gym leader especially play it off extremely macho and toxically masculine, and Tony sticks out like a sore thumb. Sophie actually feels bad for him. Her and Mr. Mime put on a little funny pantomime for Tony, to which he cracks a smile, and Sophie thinks that it's nice.

Sophie quickly deals with him, though, as well as the rest of her competition (given that her ace is a fairy type) and fully intends to move on with her day. But she can't get this encounter out of her head, so after the challenge Sophie asks some other trainers about Tony, and they tell her where he usually has his lunch.

She meets him there and they have a long conversation about how Tony's stuck in the gym because it's a family business, the gym leader is his dad, and his own """ace""" Machamp is his grandfather's. He also slips and accidentally mentions that he secretly has some other mons, not fighting types, that he likes to spend his time with when nobody's looking, and Sophie immediately challenges him to a battle with them. He's hesitant at first, but then agrees, and the match between them is the tightest most exiting one he's ever had. Turns out that it's completely different to battle alongside pokemon he formed a genuine connection with.

Sophie suggests she'd steal Tony away from what is clearly stifling him. There are other people who'd happily take the place he hates being stuck in, and he clearly needs an adventure to shake him out of his depressive state. She just started the journey herself: they can take on the Gym Challenge together and see where it takes them. Tony doesn't know what to do: his legacy and sense of duty weigh on him heavily but he just can't with it all anymore. Dreading every new day became so much it is too hard to handle. And here comes this absolutely random person who suddenly wants to land him a hand. He is confused and doesn't know what to think or how to feel. Sophie wants to give him space to think things through and tells him she'll be waiting for him in the same place tomorrow, and if he doesn't show up by a certain hour, she'll know he decided not to go, and will go her own way as if they've never met. He agrees, and they part ways.

Queue in that scene from The Hobbit where Bilbo runs uphill joyfully yelling "I'm going on an adventure!"

And for Sophie, she decided to manic pixie dream girl Tony out of his situation because she had been in a very similar situation herself. Her parents (in this au both Sophie and Tony have completely different parents and family situations BTW, nothing like OG Attitudes) were really pushy about her interest in Pokemon and Pokemon battles and wanted her to have "a real job" someday, so they made her study and study everything hard and boring, and their position was always this disingenuous kind of "do anything you want once you graduate but until you do you owe this to yourself (read: us)". So Sophie took them up on their words, graduated, took her savings and immediately went away to take part in the Gym Challenge. When she met Tony she saw a lot of her own struggles in him and wanted to help him because nobody did the same for her. She knows how scary it is to go through such a change all alone.

The rest of this au is simply the two of them doing the gym challenge together, camping in the wilderness, having little adventures, catching and playing with pokemon and bonding (falling in love too, ofc😈)

leaving alola behind him, reides the kingdra headed for generation 8 of the pokemon games in his quest for more ribbons! gen8 of these games feature the galar region (via pokemon sword and shield) as well as the sinnoh region (via pokemon brilliant diamond and shining pearl)! this leap to gen8 was super alarming, as my beloved kingdra moved from the 3ds to the current nintendo console - namely, the nintendo switch! it's crazy to think about how this whole journey began on my copy of emerald version, slotted into my pleasantly clunky brick of a grey ds.

reides' journey through the generations has been filled with its highs and its lows, but once he arrived safely in pokemon home, it meant that i could be a bit flexible with my approach to the ribbons available in swsh and bdsp! (it also meant bidding farewell to my shoddy photos of my (3)ds screen for these posts... they will be missed...)

anyway, before i get into the story of reides' gen8 journey, i gotta do my customary shoutout to all the other parts of his ribbon master quest. it's really easy this time around, as i finally put together an index for these posts on my personal site! you can find it here! that page also has a lot of information about the challenge itself, along with some helpful resources if you'd like to take it on. as always, you can also peek in my ribbon master tag on this blog, too.

if you're all caught up with the story so far, it's time to get started on a brand new chapter.

transferring reides into my copy of pokemon shield was a really emotional experience. kingdra looks absolutely gorgeous on the switch, and i was blown away by how awesome the shiny form looks, too. this moment on the beach at sunset - with a galarian slowpoke and a kingler lurking close by - felt pretty cinematic. it was also really nice to see my trainer character again! i absolutely love all of the different fashion items available in swsh. immediately, i knew that i had to make my ribbon mastery team a big ol' pot of curry for all of their hard work thus far.

we also played together while we camped out. i was really glad that i was already in shield's post-game, as it saved a whole lot of time on this ribbon master journey AND meant that i'd have tons of toys for my pokemon at my disposal.

after goofing around for hours, i finally decided to take on the first ribbon available in galar. this ribbon was the galar champion ribbon, which your pokemon receive upon entering the galarian hall of fame. i ended up needing to play through the galarian star tournament first, though, as i had procrastinated on doing that for the longest time... so reides ended up taking part in a few more battles than one would think!

it was absolutely awesome to see dynamax in action with reides! it made me wish that kingdra got a gigantamax form, but i guess that would be a bit too amazing for anyone to handle, huh? while taking on this ribbon, i also realized just how much i missed the vibes of the gym challenge in the galar region. the wide stadiums, the cheering crowds, the MUSIC... all of it is so incredibly top-tier and it really got me pumped up! not to mention seeing the absolutely INCREDIBLE cast in action. shoutout to everyone but especially piers. all hail the reigning king of the pokemon punks.

anyway, reides was eventually able to sweep his way to victory in both the galarian star tournament as well as the league battles. he joined the hall of fame and got the galar champion ribbon!

with that handled, it was time to take on galar's battle tower. according to most, this battle tower is an absolute cake-walk, as you can dynamax while most of your opponents (barring leon) can't. it was just a matter of buckling down and spending the time required to amass your wins. as a result, i ended up abandoning the tried and true durant strat and instead took the og trio of albatross, origin and reides, himself, along for the ride.

hilariously enough, i ran into ONE road-block in this tower in the form of a shedinja which i could literally not attack. i had NO moves that could get past its guard... sobs. but another nice thing about the galarian battle tower is that it isn't streak-dependent, instead swapping over to a system relying on ranking up or ranking down. so i brushed off this shedinja encounter without letting it get to me all that much, haha! i also taught albatross shadow ball... just in case.

ribbons also got a bit of an upgrade in the switch games of pokemon. no longer limited to just being pretty graphics on the ribbon screen, you can now equip one ribbon on your pokemon and give it a little title every time you send it out in battle. i equipped the ribbon that reides got for mastering all of the contests in omega ruby, which granted him the title of 'shining star'!

it was so nice to see it every time i sent him out, but i can definitely see myself swapping between all the various titles at reides' disposal!

my climb to the master ball rank was fairy uneventful, though i really understood this child's plight. it's how i felt many times while in various battle towers during this ribbon master journey.

eventually, i made it through the rank itself and got to the final battle against leon. though i had faced him at the end of each rank prior to this moment, it still felt very intense to encounter him knowing that this was my very last battle tower match for the forseeable future. also, his battle tower outfit is SO DRIPPY. love him so much.

not gonna lie, it was pretty funny seeing him say something so inspiring while looking so sad (and the snowscape from one of dynamax-form reides' attacks really added to it). leon is an absolutely amazing character and one of my fav champions ever, though, so i was thrilled that he got to be the final match in my battle tower saga!

even though the swsh battle tower was WAY easier than the others that i faced, i was still so happy to be done with it. my goodness. i really went from ignoring the battle towers in the series to gaining streaks of ~50 in each and every one... it's kind of unreal. reides truly earned the title of 'tower master'!

upon getting the tower master ribbon, we were done with galar. i was sure to make my pokemon team some more curry before they set off for sinnoh! but i honestly wasn't too torn up about leaving galar, as pokemon home lets us shift pokemon between the switch games however we'd like. after so many one-way transfers out of prior generations, it felt kind of surreal - and was also a huge relief.

this cute curry wasn't the only treat that got eaten, either! i made some pokemon cookies in Real Life to celebrate, as well. i used cookie cutters from the official pokemon store to make these pikachu and munchlax cookies!

i then set my sights on the remake of diamond version... pokemon: brilliant diamond!

the last time reides visited sinnoh, he did so via my childhood copy of diamond version. as i wrote in my post about the gen4 part of reides' journey, this copy of the game was already in the post-game, so i didn't have to play through any of diamond's plot whatsoever when he arrived. however... for this sinnoh visit, i actually didn't have a post-game available! despite owning brilliant diamond since the day it released, i had barely played it. (fun fact: in my first run of the game, i ran into a shiny bidoof on my very first night playing it. i ended up transferring all of the pokemon in it - bidoof included - to pokemon home and restarting it, though, as i was toying with the idea of doing a shiny starter hunt... and then i simply never touched it. so i guess restarting it was actually a waste of time. weeps.) i knew that i'd need to play through its plot to get the ribbon that reides needed, so... you know what that meant.

it was time for a whole other adventure to begin.

i decided to keep reides in the pc for the storyline part of this playthrough. i wanted to raise a team of pokemon from the sinnoh region, and i knew that reides' status as a fully ev and iv trained pokemon at level 100 meant that he would absolutely STEAMROLL the plot. we still went on walks together very often though, and he had his pal hammer the garchomp in the pc for company! (i usually raise a garchomp for my sinnoh teams, as it's one of my fav pokemon in the sinnoh region, but i decided to try to resist this time around and limit myself to pokemon that i had never raised before!)

i absolutely loved my brilliant diamond playthrough. the art direction is a point of contention in the pokemon fandom, but i'm a big fan of it! it seems like people either love it or hate it, and, thankfully, i'm definitely in the 'love' camp! the chibi style is endlessly charming, and the environments were just gorgeous. something about the lighting in brilliant diamond is just SUPER pleasing to me, and re-visiting sinnoh like this allowed me to really appreciate it. since my diamond file was in the post-game, i guess needing to play through this one in its entirety actually kinda worked out in my favour, huh?

i was super delighted to see that the ribbons screen is absolutely gorgeous in this game, too! i really like the status screen featured in bdsp. it's so nice and colourful.

this simple little screenshot is also really important to me. you see, when i was a kid, i got diamond version as a gift from a family friend. he'd gone abroad and generously brought back it back as a present for me. back then, the country that i live in didn't get pokemon games in a timely manner at all (we'd get them in video game stores months after they released in the u.s.), and i actually had no idea that diamond version even existed. (not knowing that a new pkmn generation dropped was a recurring experience in my childhood, LOL.) so playing this game for the first time made for a really magical experience. i have a very, very clear memory of playing it for hours and hours on the night that i started it up... until i could barely keep my eyes open. i trained my team a whole lot and was exploring this route right outside of jubilife, and i thought that the small island on the water was very pretty. i saved there for the night, imagining my trainer setting up a little camp for herself and her pokemon... and now, every time i'm on that route, i can't help but smile at the memory. so you can imagine just how happy i was to take a photo with reides there, with the updated graphics and everything!

furthermore, on the course of my sinnoh journey, i ran into lots of old friends... including none other than riley!

thanks to the way he helped me out in the gen4 battle tower, riley is a really special character to me now. so i was really happy to see him and play through iron island with him! after thwarting team galactic, he surprised me with a little gift.

i actually wasn't planning on raising a riolu - much less a lucario - on my main team AT ALL... but, upon receiving this egg from riley, i knew i had to. as silly as it may sound, i thought it would be a great nod to our time in the battle tower all those generations ago! and so, on that note, here is the storyline team that i journeyed through sinnoh with, and who helped reides get to where he needed to be:

as you can see, there's a bit of a theme going on with their nicknames! i decided to name each member of my brilliant diamond team after in-universe berries. i thought it'd be cute!

anyway, the berry bunch and i had a fantastic time exploring sinnoh. days passed, and, eventually, we faced what i believe to be the most difficult league in any of the pokemon games... including the most daunting champion battle ever.

cynthia lived up to her status as the most skilled champion in the pkmn franchise thus far. we had a battle for the ages, knocking 5 of each other's pokemon out. i actually almost lost to her - she had me completely backed into a corner. but my team pulled through, as kelpsy the glaceon MIRACULOUSLY toughed out an attack that should have knocked him out (via the affection system - namely, if your pokemon really loves you, they can occasionally 'survive' attacks that'd knock them out with 1hp instead) and managed to land a single ice beam on her garchomp. this clutched out the win, and my team was added to the sinnoh hall of fame.

now that i had access to the post-game, i could focus on reides once more. to get his ribbon in brilliant diamond, we'd have to foray into the brilliant contest scene.

brilliant contests are a calibre above the typical condition contests and are linked to all of your contest stats rather than just one. you actually don't gain access to this category unless you've achieved a master rank win in all of the solo-stat categories. luckily, ribbons from oras are recognized in bdsp, so reides didn't have to prove his worth to the judges and could instead get right to competing in the brilliant contests.

in addition to this category, bdsp also introduced some new contest mechanics, too. your final contest score can be split into three parts: 'visual', 'dance', and 'move'. these all seem pretty self-explanatory; the visual part is linked to your pokemon's contest condition/sheen, the dance part is linked to how well you perform in the rhythm game, and the move is linked to your timing in executing the one contest move that you're allowed to take in with you during the contests. but the visual part actually has an element of added complexity in bdsp, as it also involves a new mechanic of placing stickers on your pokemon's pokeball so that cool effects play when you send them out. (this feature was also in the gen4 sinnoh games, albeit not incorporated into those games' contests.)

the effects which these stickers play have a direct impact on your pokemon's visual score. however, for brilliant contests, normal stickers don't really cut it. instead, people recommend grinding out champion stickers (from taking on cynthia's rematch team post-heatran plotline) and showstopper stickers (from beating the other master rank contests) in order to get a decent appeal score. since reides didn't need to take on the master rank contests, i didn't have any of those - and i wasn't all too interested in grinding for more. i figured that grinding out champion stickers would work out better, since they give more points in the visual portion of the contest, anyway.

before starting that grind, i decided to give the brilliant master contest a try with nothing but the base-game stickers. given reides' perfect contest stats from omega ruby, i wondered if his contest skills would be enough to scrape through and secure a win.

as it turned out...

...they were not. people are NOT exaggerating when they talk about the difficulty of the brilliant master rank contest!! i was pretty shocked that my lovely kingdra was getting absolutely terrible visual ratings. (LIKE, LOOK AT HIM!! LOOK AT HIM!!!!!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!!!!!! AND PERFECT!!! AND SWEET, TOO!!!!!!!!) anyway, my outrage aside, it turns out that using those two types of stickers to boost your pokemon's visual rating is pretty much a necessity. the rhythm game portion of it is also not to be underestimated and typically requires a bit of practice. luckily, i'm fairly decent at rhythm games, but i knew that i would have to get those stickers from cynthia after all. i played through the pre-requisite bit of the post-game - catching heatran in a premier ball! - and made my way back to the league. with my storyline team vibing in the pc and my ribbon mastery team ready to FIGHT, i got settled and began grinding out the battles.

initially, i intended to get 20 champion stickers on the ball so as to fill it up entirely with them. after getting 8 stickers in one night, though, i was kind of worn down and decided to give the contest another try. i also taught giga impact to reides, as it's SUPER good in the bdsp contests (your pokemon gains a big boost to its score when you use it while you have a positive 'jam' score in the dance game) and can be easily bought in the veilstone department store. i was delighted to see that my protag's mother - johanna - was there for this contest, as well as gym leader fantina. both johanna and fantina are great at contests in-universe, so i was excited at the prospect of at least succeeding on this contest round, even if reides didn't manage to clutch out the win.

...however, by some miracle, reides managed to do just that!! not only did i finally manage to succeed in the brilliant master rank contest, but reides also secured the win. at this point, it was, like, 4 in the morning for me. i was absolutely astounded; i actually wondered if i was somehow hallucinating. the twinkling star ribbon was the one and only ribbon that i needed in brilliant diamond, and after so much work to get to this point...

...it was finally granted to reides!!!

upon recieving this ribbon, reides acquired all of the ribbons that he needs in order to be a ribbon master... save for ONE. one (1) single ribbon stands in his way... and that ribbon is the one that's granted to a pokemon for emerging victorious in a master ball ranked online battle. now, i can technically get this ribbon by putting reides back in pokemon shield and trying to climb the ladder in gen8... but, as you likely know, the current gen (as of me writing this post) is gen9. that means that the gen8 battle servers are... well...

empty.

okay, no. they're not entirely empty. but people have stories of waiting for hours to get into one single match, and i'm not sure if i want to put myself through that unless i absolutely must. and i might just have to, as kingdra hasn't been officially announced as part of the generation 9 pokedex... however, with indigo disk on the horizon (3 more days!!!), i figured i'd wait to see if kingdra would be included in its national dex before subjecting myself to gen8's very delayed match-making times. if it isn't, i'll just devote another post to my competitive climb in lieu of a gen9 one. (tbh, i'm considering making a totally seperate blog post for my very first foray in the vgc realm regardless - but we'll see how it goes!)

either way, i really, really enjoyed my time with reides in gen8. it has been so awesome to see him in games that i can play with the most up-to-date nintendo console, and kingdra's models across the switch games have just been so incredibly snazzy. i said this at the start of the post, but it truly is crazy to see just how far my little shiny horsea from emerald version has journeyed. i love reides so very much and i couldn't possibly be more proud of him!!!

so let's keep our fingers crossed that reides will be allowed into gen9 so that he can explore the paldea, kitakami, and unova regions! thanks again for cheering him on, and i'm looking forward to writing another update soon!!! that update may very well include reides finally achieving full ribbon master status at long last, so i'm already excited for it! :D

This took a while to get done, but finally finished it!

A lot of stuff for my Clay blog involves figuring out minor backstory details and how they incorporate into the bigger things; one of those details was figuring out who the Gym Leader before Clay was. I'd already figured out some of the bigger details on my own--the name Sutter came from the California gold rush, him being a shipwright was sort of obvious given that Driftveil was a coastal town--but it was a suggestion from friends in a server that cemented his type expertise being Water instead of Ground. After all, as someone pointed out, people in game find it weird that a Ground-type expert would be so close to water, so odds that he didn't pick it himself are high.

And while his team setup might seem a little brutal (especially given Seismitoad of all things), I figured that Sutter's team was leveled more like B2W2's Challenge difficulty than Clay's levels in the OG game.

Look I know DID doesn't give you super powers but I think it does and unlike other alters my heart is just built different (I'M JOKING)

But historically our system for the past 10 years has been like "yeah we aren't built for stamina and thats ok, Riku took a month or endurance training and could barely do 0.75 miles straight for at a rate of a 15 minute mile" and that persisted under Ray (the OG Gym nut that brought upon our Jock Days and my Personal Coach TM) with a slight but not drastic boost to stamina

And so over this past year whenever I've gone to the gym, I have this STUPID high stamina and can keep going - often far past we should when I'm on my pisser and in a rage fury, so Ray, Lucille, and Riku have hard rules to keep me in check to make sure I dont push the body too hard (rules with safety precautions, rules about regularly stopping every X time and if I want to push limits I have to regularly check my heart rate on a reliable checker to make sure I'm not going about 170 bpm, etc) and even if I am following all of those, if Riku's too close co-con they (who are the historical worst stamina main part in the system) get so spooked they annoy me into stopping far before I'm even challenged

And so today I went to the gym and like, we've been living at our parents for a bit and I'm a hyper independent "need my personal space" kind of person and so I havent had MY Personal Space beyond when I go to the gym and I was like "fuck it man, lets cancel muscle work out today and take up a fun challenge - can I take a fat SHIT on the claim that we aren't built for stamina and go for an hour straight without breaking any of the safety rules"

And god damn it man it wasn't even that hard. 1 Hour Straight, the Elliptical told me to Cool The FUCK down, a little over 5 miles, no stopping, heart rate maintained between 145-166 bpm the whole time and quickly returned to a 136 bpm about 10 seconds after stopping to just walk

Like I dunno man

DID doesn't give you super powers but god damn does dissociation do weird fucking shit cause god damn our system has *properly trained* in incremental increasing distance for stamina and endurance for months on months and at most could only do 1.5 miles in like 20 minutes before dying even at our previous peak

Notes:

These will all be based as of gen 9, but lots of their clothes will be from gen 8. This could be considered as being what they wear out of school, or just not enrolling in the academy.

The squad tm like to travel around the world, seeing how far they can get in each of the gym challenges.

They may be competitive, but they treat their pokemon well, and only catch the ones that they know they'll love, which is why their teams aren't perfect for comps.

◇Not very competitive, only takes on the gym challenge for fun/ encourages friends and to meet cool new people. Everyone he comes across likes to say he's a nice break from all the mean, overly competitive players

On a scale from OG Ingo to Raihan, how strong is Nobori's selfie game? Does he take selfies with strong challengers now that he's done with his gym challenge and working on the battle subway again?

Well first off, no one's selfie game is stronger than Raihan's so jot that down.

But I think it's pretty strong!! A strong eight on the selfie scale. He probably does take selfies with the trainers that manage to beat him, or come close to it- some people honestly probably just try to battle him to get a selfie with him. They either don't make it very far or accidentally learn to love Pokemon battling in their pursuit of selfies.

Emmet almost lectures him about it being unprofessional at first, but quickly catches himself. He feels so old in that moment that he just never brings it up again and just lets Nobori do what he wants. Unintentional side effect of your brother being reincarnated into the younger generation, lmao.

Memory - October 2021 : Red Hot Photo Shoot

I keep forgetting to drop these off on Tumblr...

but I guess I have perfect timing because its the anniversary month of these pictures ♥️

OG Write Up :

I’ve been dreaming of an all red, heart throbbing look for quite some time. Red is one of my favorite colors to work with. It just speaks to me. I wanted to do something that would allow me to embody my bold side a little bit more. The concept for this shoot was created in 2020. In 2021, I met photographer Miesha Williams and creative director/consultant and production designer Christiani! They were the perfect duo to bring my vision to life! We exchanged ideas of what this moment would look like then, in the blink of an eye, I was on set! They challenged me with new poses, a little bit of climbing and a lot of balancing! I definitely was inspired to get back in the gym after shooting! I was shocked because it’s giving very much Savage Fenty ad campaign???? And that wasn’t in the plan! Wether you want to believe it or not, a lot of the things I do and create are done alone. I’m thankful to the few friends and photographers who have offered their services and taught me things along the way. What made this shoot such an amazing experience was the amount of support I received from Miesha and Christiani! They are a force to be reckoned with! They are so skilled in their craft and on top of that have hearts of gold. I’m hoping to do more collabs in the future!

right before i started generation 3 of my family dynamics legacy, i realized i wanted to make some changes to the original challenge !!

so i divided my changes into two sections; partial reworks (4-7) and full reworks (8-10). some of these updates are to take advantage of new packs we've gotten since, or to play with aspects i've personally never touched. — all edits to the OG challenge in partial reworks will be in red — there's a repeated trait in gen9 (outgoing trait from gen1) so there's an option to use an alternative trait but it will make the challenge harder — reworks with a ⭐ next to them mean they're liable to change either because i'm not fully satisfied with them or because i want to see how the legacy plays out as i get to that point !

if anyone else wants to play with these reworks, go ahead ! but please tag me so i can see if you do !!

Partial Reworks

Generation Four: “Laugh away the pain”

Let’s be honest: you had a pretty good upbringing. Even though there were some rough patches, you know that your parent did the best they could to raise you alone. But, deep down, being alone is the very thing you fear more than anything. So, you cover it up with laughter,…both the laughter which bubbles from inside you and that which you try to create in others. You marry young in a desperate attempt to fill the emptiness that drives you, only to find later that your spouse has chosen another. Eventually, you have to face the fact that your family and the laughter are enough to hold you up.

Traits: Goofball, Loyal, Active

Aspiration: Joke Star

Career: Entertainer (Comedian branch)

Rules:

Master Music Production, Comedy and one instrument skill of your choice

Meet with a group of gym buddies once a week

Marry first significant other as a YA

Generation Five: “Struggling in the city”

You come from a broken home. Growing up, you witnessed first-hand the havoc that infidelity can bring on a family. You determine from a young age that you will pour your soul into forging close relationships with your spouse and children. The city draws you, and it is there that you decide to make your home. However, despite your best efforts as a doctor later in life, tragedy claims one of your children long before their time. You wear a shroud of sadness from then on, but find that the love of your remaining child(ren) and your ability to express yourself through song might just pull you through in the end.

You give into your darkest thoughts. Theft and criminal activity appeal to you, and eventually you give yourself over to that lifestyle. Even though you’re more at home in your contemplative solitude, you take comfort once in a one-night-stand. But there’s a surprising side to you; the raging in your heart is only calmed by the time you spend making things with your own hands.

Becoming a teacher was an obvious choice, as it provides you with the tools you need to reach others. What if ingo never returns. Au/hc time

Ingo never gets returned to the present. He stays in hisui , grows old and dies. He regains some of his memories, over time they get triggered but he never fully remembers. He has a different life now and no matter what he has to settle. Back in Unova though Emmet hasn't stopped looking for his brother. The battle subway still runs, and challenges come and go but it's always just emmet. Ingos og pokemon are still there with him as well. The subway feels lonely without Ingo there with him. Missing posters are scattered around the city and in others as well. But over time people stop looking. No one cares anymore. It was a lost cause. Not emmet though. Back then when Ingo was still around the twins would often visit Nacrene city when they had the time. Perusing around the museum and library. Ever since ingo disappeared though, Emmet drowned himself in work and couldn't bring himself to visit alone. Everyone knows Emmet is still hurting. There is nothing they can do but hope for the best. Even if he still wears his iconic smile it's different, tight and forced. It wavers at the mention of his brother. But it never truly falls until he reaches the confines of his home. He sits at night wondering where it went wrong, where his dear brother was. Tears staining his cheeks and eyes becoming swollen, surely to be visible the next day. Emmet took in Ingo's stray pokemon, and they all share the same pain, Missing Ingo greatly. One day though, while Emmet is at work, he gets a call. From Nacrene city's gym leader, Lenora. She would interact with the twins from time to time explaining new discoveries and theories they liked. She was desperate and breathless. She struggles to find the words. New items had been put out for display. Her voice trembles as she tries to explain her findings. And once she gets the words out, Emmet's hearts sinks. Suddenly it's much harder to breath, and his ears are ringing painfully so. He can't even hear what Lenora is saying at that point. His vision falters and he stumbles back into a chair. His phone vibrates, Informing him of a new message. Pictures of an old torn coat. Matching his but in black instead of white, a worn tunic with an unfamiliar symbol in the middle. But the hardest to miss was the hat. Ingo's signature hat, torn from some places, but Unmistakeably his. Much like Emmet's own hat, the familiar red ribbon and charm adorning the top. And to add insult to injury, a picture of his missing brother. He looks older , his posture horrible as he slouches. Wrinkles and scars visible on his face and exposed hands. As well as a small goatee on his chin. Standing next to a young girl with long black hair. Captioned "warden ingo and the hero of hisui " it's old and worn. Horribly faded in some parts. But he could never forget that face. The face of his missing twin." Born:? / died:?" His brother was gone. No longer in Unova. Not even the right time period. He no longer belonged to the land of the living, leaving his very much alive twin behind. Somehow, he had gone back in time. Had he been killed? Or had he grown old and lived a nice life? Emmet couldn't think. His eyes filled with tears, brain not getting enough oxygen to process anything correctly. It felt as if he was being choked, and he couldn't do anything to save himself except helplessly clawing at the invisible force that was draining him. Why had fate been so cruel? Why him? Had they done something to deserve this punishment from Arceus himself? He screamed, and the Walls of the security room seemed to mirror his pain. Echoing back his own pained shrieks. He was helpless. His brother was dead. had been dead for many years. Then, everything went black.

Hi my name is Simone and I am an OG simmer since the sims 1. My traits are self-assured, cheerful, and party animal (but low key lazy). I am good for 3 things, 1. hyping people up with good vibes, 2. giving my unsolicited but deep advice, 3. debating (i won’t debate here, miss me with the drama). I am obsessed with astrology, the gym, blankets, and mac n cheese. while i am not procrastinating on sleeping with 4 screens in front of me, i am often raving.

No stereotypes or fluff (hate that sh*t), packed with challenges and dynamic gameplay, designed for story-telling and drama and cuteness.

My content is for the moment viewer friendly but i swear so much irl, i might drop some f-bombs. I won’t post nudity or abuse and do my best to disclose tws. You guys want some random ass OC lore? Well you’re getting it anyway here we go

BASICALLY: Blake and Gold used to be the same character.

Waaay back when Colored Skies was my main project and I still considered Al my trainersona, Blake was a character I was forming in my brain. This was before I changed my name or even realized I’m trans so it was a LONG time ago. They were going to be my B/W protag from the start except the story was based off White so they would’ve ended up getting Zekrom instead of Reshiram. Basically, they were going to be Al’s kid, like Gold is. They had the Ho-Oh feather and everything.

The OG Blake was like Gold is, a rambunctious teen who wanted to live up to their mother’s legacy. Maybe a little less self-absorbed. I think in this old storyline Al didn’t go missing, she was just chilling in Nuvema rooting for her kid after they set out on their gym challenge.

OG Blake’s relationship with N was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from how current Blake’s is. N was gonna end up like a big brother figure to them who kept trying to keep them out of Team Plasma’s affairs, but they refused to let him carry out his plan and kept butting in to conflicts with Team Plasma.

And man the final battle scene was gonna be extremely different too. N reluctantly agreeing to challenge them to decide the world’s fate yada yada and then after the battle Ghetsis tries to hurt them but then Al storms her way into the castle and kicks the guy’s ass. Then she sees all the shit N went through and was like “NEW SON ALERT” N still ends up leaving but Al assures him he’s welcome to visit her and her family in Nuvema anytime. Then I imagined once BW2 rolls around he’s tired from his two year journey and goes to stay with them.

Basically what happened was I began to start losing interest in Al, she obviously didn’t represent me anymore as I came to terms with my gender identity. Sure I could’ve just revamped her character, but at the time my family was already super familiar with her (I’d been telling them about my Pokémon fan story for YEARS, ever since I was a kid, obviously they’d want to keep reading it) and at the time I was terrified of them finding out I’m trans, so I didn’t want to out myself by completely changing the character they were so invested in.

THEN!!! Sword and Shield were announced, over the months as new mons were introduced I was like “hey, new gen new me, I’m gonna completely revamp my trainersona” and boom that’s how the new and current Blake came to be. Originally, they were just gonna be a silly self-insert, I didn’t plan for their story so get so deep. But years later we’ve come full circle and now they’re my B/W protag once again, except this time around they’re a depressed college dropout who’s tired of Everything.

There’s still aspects of the OG Blake I’ve implemented here and there- Obviously, Gold has the Ho-Oh feather thing, personality-wise he’s very different but like I said he’s still trying to live up to his mom’s legacy just like in the old version. Except instead of cheering him on from back home his mom has gone poof.

August (my BW2 protag) also picked up some of OG Blake’s qualities, personality-wise she is actually quite similar to them. She also sort of got that “younger sibling and older sibling” dynamic with N. (N is a lot more present in the Unova Fates version of BW2, instead of only appearing at the Ghetsis and Kyurem battle he’s kind of like a traveling companion for August most of her adventure.)

And also!!! There is one more character that’ll show up in Unova Fates that ends up with the same team I had in my original copy of White (OG Blake’s team). Remember the Trainersona Challenge I did where I created an AU where Blake joins Team Plasma but secretly helps the player take them down?? Yeah that’s a concept I’m gonna be revisiting to say the least :)))
