Hi prequel community. If I said that I think the reason why there were only two prequels compared to the three that the other parts of the series got (3 TSY books and 3 TCY books) AND the reasons why Rhian's eye colour changes miraculously from Rise to Fall from green to blue (I think he's described as having green eyes in Rise? someone might have to correlate me on that) is because in Rise he's supposed to parallel TSY Sophie (green eyes, doubtfully good, multiple boyfriends) and then in Fall he's supposed to parallel Japeth (blue eyes, fratricidal, insane, gets cool one liners) how would you react to that

Fëanorians RPG stats:

this has been in my drafts for a month so it's about time I spam it to everyone (edit: you can now find the Nolofinweans here too)

All Fëanorians (except Celebrimbor) have a Silmaril Proximity Radius bar. When the bar is full berserk mode can be activated against Morgoth's forces OR a powerful attack bonus against kin and relatives can be unlocked.

All of them (except Celebrimbor) have a diplomacy malus with Doriathrim interactions. All players are locked out of dialogue options in Alqualondë.

Equipping a silmaril causes both fire damage and psychic damage to the character but allows stronger attack power against Morgoth's forces.

Maedhros: biggest HP bar. Reverts to basic attacks and gets slower around the Thangorodrim general area (this can be resolved keeping a song user player in the same party).

The player can customize the character to be left or right handed, ambidextrous attacks can be unlocked through the game.

Bonus diplomatic dialogue options are available, except with Doriathrim and Teleri npcs. Noldorin interactions unlock extra royalty based dialogue options.

Maglor: basic HP bar + extra Song bar, functioning as a mana bar for song based attacks. Moving around certain parts of the shoreline will activate unskippable flashback cutscenes and momentarily lock the character out of the party (this can be resolved interacting with other Fëanorians players and/or after visiting Rivendell a certain amount of times).

Noldolantë spell gives psychic damage to BOTH friends and enemies present in the same area as the player.

Celegorm: basic HP bar + special tracker pointer to locate hidden enemies and npcs at all times. The player controls both the character AND Huan at all times except in Doriath.

Bonus animals dialogue options are available. High diplomacy malus with Doriathrim interactions.

In Aman the player can unlock a special combo to summon the Hunting Host of Oromë.

Caranthir: basic HP bar, gets an extra "how fucking angry I am" bar, which refills as the character gets hit. When the bar is completely full all the damage inflicted upon enemies gets double effectiveness.

Bonus diplomatic dialogue options with the Haladin are available.

The player gets special prices and deals in shops and trades interactions, with particular discounts on dwarven artifacts.

Curufin: basic HP bar. All self crafted weapons have different and special attack bonuses if equipped in combat. Bonus forging options and abilities are available to the player. Weapons and bonuses can be used by other players if weapons are exchanged or gifted.

High charisma stats in Nargothrond, but low diplomacy stats with Doriathrim interactions.

Ambarussa: basic HP bar + special tracker pointer to locate hidden enemies. Playing with both twins in the same party allows extra attack combos + special ability to swap character mid combat with the other twin. A player can choose to give up control of their character and let the other player control both twins at the same time.

Both players can unlock a special Osanwe Chat, even at long distance.

Low defense against fire damage.

Celebrimbor: basic HP bar. All self crafted accessories have different and special attack bonuses if equipped in combat. Bonus forging options and abilities are available to the player. Accessories and bonuses can be used by other players if objects are exchanged or gifted. Every equipped ring unlocks its own extra mana bar.

Bonus diplomacy options with dwarves and with elven royalty are available. Malus in interactions with and defence against Sauron.

Fëanor: normal HP bar, all self crafted weapons and accessories have different and special attack bonuses if equipped in combat. Bonus forging options and abilities are available to the player. Weapons and accessories and bonuses can be used by other players if objects are exchanged or gifted.

Special Oath ability allows the player to summon all the Fëanorians in the nearest proximity to help in combat.

Bonus on the Silmaril Proximity Radius bar. Bonus attack power against Morgoth's forces and next of kin. Defence malus against balrogs.

Character gets an extra "how fucking angry I am" bar, when the bar is completely full all damage inflicted upon enemies turns into fire damage. As HPs get lower fire damage to all enemies increases exponentially. When the HP bar is almost empty the character enters flaming berserk mode. If not refilled an empty HP bar will cause self combustion in a final special fire based attack against everyone and everything in the nearest proximity.

Extremely high charisma stats with Noldorin interactions, except Nolofinweans and Arafinweans.

Alqualondë turns into a locked area if the character is equipped or played in the party.

Equipping the character with a single silmaril allows a special charge attack through Morgoth's forces, lowering by half even the dragons HP bars. Equipping the character with all three silmarils at the same time will cause the game to crash.

The player is the only one who can control and reset the Palantiri Chat password.

maaaajor elora and kit friendship/sisterhood dynamic ramble below from my drafts last thursday lol<3

thinking about kit & elora and how it always had to be them

this quest is theirs. while kit never wanted elora to join, the two of them were the only ones in it for the same reason-to save airk. everyone else has other motives: boorman to repay his debt to madmartigan and be pardoned of his crimes, graydon because he's been forced to by his father, willow to train elora, and jade to protect kit. while these reasons shift & change they're never really in it for airk. but kit and elora are

and we see each of them test this. from the get-go they are immediately distrusting of one another (mainly kit as we well know) and so this antagonism means that they struggle to believe they're on the same side. we constantly see kit and elora provoking the other, asking if they're really up for the challenge, or really in it for the right reason to save airk. but over the course of the season, as they get closer, we see this provoking change to a kind of motivation.

in episode 1, kit laments that graydon shouldn’t bring a flute because they’re on a dangerous quest to save her brother, “not some jaunt.” then in the next episode, elora tells willow all that they went through to get to him, and she says “I did it all and i’d do it all again to save airk, not take wizard classes from you.” and literally in this same scene there’s the moment where kit asks “so when can we leave” at the same time that elora asks “so what are we waiting for.” they give each other an odd look (that cracks me up tbh<3) because they aren't ready to admit their on the same side despite being so in sync.

they are both just lost kids wanting so desperately to be brave and loved (as kit admits in episode 7), and this means they constantly want to give up, to take the easy route, but together they manage to keep going, to rely on each other when they need the strength/motivation/endurance whatever you want to call it

then we see the parallel between the end of episode 4 and 6; where elora is transfixed by the image of her younger self, distraught that she cannot save her, and then kit hears her father’s voice and wants desperately to go after him even if it means her death. Each time, they are the ones to seek out each other and try to pull the other back from these visions. *also just including the whole ep 4 clip here bc why not this is already a mess<3

also so much to be said abt how they were both, in a way, abandoned by madmartigan even though he did it to save them but I don't have the words rn

we also see that both of them feel the need to be brave & powerful leaders on this quest (bc of their relationship to airk and their roles as princess/chosen one), but each of them confide in the other about feeling afraid and powerless (elora during the hallway scene in ep4 then kit later on). it’s so interesting that elora’s vulnerability and honesty allow kit to do the same, and in the end its kit to bring elora back from the edge in episode 7--she’s learned from her and now is returning the favor.

again and again when everyone wants to give up, the two of them don't have that option. they begin to rely on each other to keep the quest moving towards their final goal. and eventually, kit realizes that not only is elora really in this, but that because they are the only two who truly care about airk, it has to be them to save him. she needs elora. as much as she would have hated to admit it at the beginning of the quest.

they continually challenge each other for better or for worse. like when kit is drowning in episode 6, her near-death challenges elora to dig deep into her power. or in ep 7 when kit sees elora training she decides to do the same etc. they are always pushing each other whether it be out of kindness/jealousy/love/spite. ultimately they just know that they are the only two who can’t give up, because if they do the quest falls apart: they need each other.

it's just so interesting to watch the subtle way their dynamic has changed, the way they've been helping each other without really meaning to because deep down they knew they didn't really have a choice. this connection, these common goals, have been there from the beginning-they just had to step back enough to see it. they are foils they are sisters they are soulmates. it had to be them going over the falls.

everyone complained that jade didn't jump after immediately and I'll admit I felt that way too. but this is the moment where everyone is truly tested. it needs to be clear that before anything else this is kit and elora's quest. the rest of the group needs to decide, after everything they've been through, the lengths they'll go to in order to protect their friends. even jade has to stop and think about what it means to continually risk herself for kit without regard for her own safety. is this really their quest? (ultimately from the trailers we know they do join them, but I think it was obviously purposeful to have just kit and elora facing down airk before this happens, to really nail home this point)

p.s. their growth can be summed up so well by kit saying “tough” in ep1 when elora wanted to join to help save airk vs her saying “tough” when elora wanted to give up at the end of ep7

I've gone on a silly little ramble on it before but basically

Bruce get stupidly overprotective of Jason after the Incident (Dick and Alfred too, but they're not as overbearing) to the point that it hinders a lot of proper vigilante work because even the idea of Jason being hurt sends him panicking a little which is bad because on the field he needs to be focused. It is so much of a Problem (TM) that Jason eventually lays off most of the crime-fighting and becomes more of a healer vigilante (spurred by Leslie and Alfred's suggestions).

Steph becomes Spoiler as per the story, but with Jason alive, it changes Bruce a lot (obviously) and Jason would definitely relate to and want to help Spoiler. She gets brought into the folds and becomes Robin. Jason does miss crime-fighting proper and after Steph joins, they sneak out for patrol together with Cass and sometimes with Dick too (although he is still a bit overbearing sometimes). All three of them are also involved in the Titans, Jason in mostly a healer capacity and Steph as a leader of a junior team.

Jason later transitions into a bit of a social worker vigilante as well (instead of actively seeking to stop crime, he's actively seeking people who need help and working out the best way to support them, medically or otherwise), but it worries Bruce, like occasionally they (Batman Bruce and Robin Steph) are just tailing Jason instead of going anywhere else or doing anything else some nights, until eventually they compromise by pairing Jason with Cass when he does these work.

Eventually Steph passes Robin on to Damian. She either creates a new identity (like Nightwing does) or becomes Spoiler upgraded, but I do like the idea of Spoiler becoming a legacy of its own and the idea of Sasha (Scarlet) becoming the second Spoiler (but red version). Spoiler is the OG born of the people of Gotham to me, it's an identity entirely separate from the Bats in a way, and I just think that someone else could very easily stumble along and be like "I want to be a hero of my people too".

Jason wants to go to college, but this freaks Bruce out still (because this man does not ever deal with his own traumas properly) so Jason compromises and agrees to go to Gotham U, but Dick finds out and is like ARE YOU LIMITING YOUR SON YOU STUPID PRICK so he does a joint Gotham-Princeton degree (still in Jersey at least).

Kyle meanwhile decides to continue college after he dropped out because his mom thinks a degree gives more security plus he really doesn't have that much to clear. He also saw some courses and professors he liked at Gotham and it's not too far from New York so he transfers to Gotham U's art program.

Prior to meeting in college, Kyle flirted with Jason when he was badly injured and delirious before and they sometimes flirt around Titans Tower (when Dick isn't around of course), but they don't see each other much and didn't keep track of the other's identity. They later meet at some literature class and are partnered and they're UGH about each other because they kind of want each other's vibes. Kyle wants the cool bad boy vibe Jason has going on (he looks too tame and nice, he wants to be invited to the cool badass college parties dammit) and Jason who until recently is used to being and wants to be the good kid in class but had a sudden growth spurt that gave him this bad boy vibes is soooo annoyed by it because everyone has weird Expectations (TM) about him, which the Waynes' reputation just makes worse.

Some other stuff that I've thought of since

Steph should also be in college at the same time so she can join in on the fun (Kyle definitely say "even the med student has time for parties, you definitely have time for parties, come onnnn" to Jason at some point)

Bruce considered quitting vigilantism entirely after the Incident because it nearly got his son killed which is just unacceptable. It also would be fitting (?) in a way, that the death of his parents started this and the near-death of his son nearly ended it. Jason convinces him not to because he thinks the people of Gotham need Batman. Or possibly the appearance of Spoiler suddenly entirely tosses things up and changed his mind.

Jason and Kyle's project should be about classism in literature because I said so

Kyle: What's the point of college if you don't got to parties? Jason: ???? Learning?!?!?! Kyle: Pshhh Steph: Pshhhhhhh

Bruce pays for Steph's college

Steph also doesn't die actually, I haven't read the War Games arc yet to determine how I want it to go, but she should get rescued. No death. Death is banned in this story /hj

Steph joins multiple music clubs in the university and picks up some new instruments and occasionally even accompanies the university's orchestra. She also studies music therapy and maybe does her thesis on that.
