uh how is the muslim crisis propaganda???

thank you for asking anon! (before we jump into this, i just wanna say that this will probably be my only post on this blog about this topic bc while i’m a very political person, i usually like to keep this blog cnco-focused. that being said, if you have any further questions after reading this whole post and all the materials linked, please let me know!)

as i write this, i want you to know my intention: my intention in writing this is not to tell you what exactly to believe, or to convince you that my view is unequivocally correct. my goal is to shed light on why having a critical analysis lens is so important, especially if you live in the west. 

this is probably going to raise a lot of feelings for folks, as it should: human rights abuses are no joke. they are horrible and disgusting and real ones that occur need to be corrected and justice must be served. that being said, the re-education centers located in Xinjiang are not centers of torture or abuse, as western media would have you believe.

i think the first step to answering this question is discrediting the vast majority of western news sources, especially the extremely popular ones. even the ones that are supposedly the least biased still reek of imperialism and often times racism/xenophobia/anti-semitism/etc. for example, i have seen the New York Times and the BBC make several claims about the “concentration camps” occurring in china with little to no material basis for their claims beyond one or two individual people (which like...y’all know people can be bought, right?). i want to draw your attention to the validity of these news sources. these news sources continuously side with imperial powers and politic when publishing articles they claim to be “fact.” for example, the NYT and BBC have both supported the coup in Bolivia, describing it as “restoring democracy” and have gone so far as to twist the story to make Evo Morales some sort of evil dictator (which is so far off base idk how even to link articles in this case just google it dude it’s so gross. la lucha sigue!!) moreover, the NYT continually makes a case that there are always two right sides to an argument, and the truth lies somewhere in between. they especially like to make this case when it comes to US politics and Trump supporters (and let’s be very clear: if you’re a trump supporter you’re not a good person)

so, going forward with the assumption that the vast majority of western news sources are biased towards capitalism and imperialism (even tho i only named two here), we can begin to question the validity of the claims that china is keeping Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps. in order to do this, let’s take popular western media off the table completely. you may think that doesn’t leave us with much to go off of, but in reality it opens a completely new door for us to examine.

one of my favorite news sources for critical investigative journalism is called the Grayzone Project. they often do investigations into whether or not popular western media is spewing fact or propaganda (hint...it’s usually propaganda). now maybe after reading that report, you still think i’m full of shit. fair enough. but grayzone are not the only people to do reporting on topic. Global Times has also written about this, and these are two of the articles I found to be most poignant:

I’d love to unpack the first article a little more. Namely, pay attention to where the visiting reporters were from: Egypt, Oman, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Union of Comoros, Lebanon, Mauritania, Sudan and Tunisia. These nations have majority Muslim populations, or at the very least a significant population of Muslim folks residing there. this was not done by accident: the chinese government wanted to show these countries that they were not abusing their people. they were very open and honest about the situation as it stands, and the representatives from these countries were pleased. moreover, these reps were grateful, as the extremist, terrorist education that occurs in Xinjiang by terrorist organizations has been deadly.

Logistically speaking, when a country is committing cultural genocide or apartheid, they don’t invite the UN or other human rights organizations to come take a quick peak (cough cough Israel cough cough). 

Moreover, the UN isn’t moving in on China for a reason: there is nothing to move in on. It’s not like the UN is ignoring the plight of the Uyghur Muslim people, but rather there is no genocide occurring to bring to justice. 

Now even after all that, maybe you still don’t understand WHY western media would propagate such hurtful lies with such intensity. To me, the answer seems clearly rooted in capitalism, imperialism, and self-interest. The US currently isn’t in great standings with China or other Muslim majority countries (y’all remember the muslim (”travel”) ban, right?), and it makes sense to me why they would try their very hardest to discredit the nation. Now, maybe after ALL of this, you still think i’m wrong. maybe you’re questioning the validity of my sources or even my arguments. and while i ultimately disagree with you (i think i showed tf up with receipts and also logic), i hope you at least come away from this with a better understanding of why it’s important to be critical of the information we are receiving. every news source has bias; evidently, no one information source lives in a vacuum. but remain critical: are they biased towards imperialism and money? or are they biased towards the truth?

okay so, im about to go ham because i truly stand strong in my shoujo fantasy.

In my opinion, im pretty sure (like 89%) lucifer tells us that whenever mammon breaks off a relationship with someone, they go broke completely after. so hes had previous relationships before, as for the rest of the boys, im pretty sure lucifer has, but nothing serious, he wont let anyone in, MC is literally the only person who has pushed past his walls and seen him for more than pride. satan, 100% he has never had a relationship, levi, has had a couple of fwbs and other relationships but they always fizzle out, never lasting. asmo has never had a serious relationship, always just flings. belphie never had a serious relationship and same with beel. i truly believe MC is their first true loves, i know what youre thinking "theyve been alive for so long, theres no way someone couldnt have been special to them" but the thing is, theyre so different with MC; their entire dynamic and relationships changed with MC, MC saw them for more than their sin and got to know them to their very core, while yes the other relationships never lasted, thats not to say the boys didnt love them; but just not in the way they love MC. i believe MC to be a true love, not just a love, the difference for me is all of the boys would gladly give up chasing MC once she finds herself happy with another brother, instead of forcing them to choose yk? the "as long as youre happy, it kills me everytime i look at you smile at him, but i love you too much to let you be miserable with me" and i dont think any of them have experienced. also, with the whole "new relationship" thing, the honey moon phase, while yes every couple has it, i feel like with MC it would just, last. not to say they wouldnt have fights; ofc they would, but its different with MC, everyday the brothers would wake up and chose the option to love and fall in love all over again, speaking further on that, i dont think any of them would truly get over MC. and i mean that; (i dont think MC is going to die, obey me devs have something planned LOL, plus theyre super powerful, like the other anon said i dont think theyd be able to really function without them, even if they do "get over" mcs death at some point.) after MC dies i feel like the family dynamic wouldnt be the same, the brothers would get quieter and would never truly forget about it? and every relationship would fail because theyre not MC (you dont have to agree but i love reverse harems), like i 100% hc that after MC chooses another brother or after they die, mammon would try and try to find new flings, even after its been decades mammon finds someone whos super similar to MC, their look, personality, etc, but one wrong move and theyre out. (say MC doesnt like pickles, but the replacement for MC does, he would immediately start crying and call mc a stupid human who he shouldnt have fallen for.) anyways in conclusion, i truly dont think MC would ever die canonically in the obey me game, the devs are sneaky (love you devs), but even if they would, i really feel like they would never get truly over it. some part of me truly believes that the brothers would go back to being distant, how they were before. they would sit at the table and eat in silence, asmo would begin partying ten times harder (since we already know he uses his ego to cover up his major insecurity of people not liking him and how he feels about himself) and the brothers would become even more indugled in their sin. also, for every relationship they would have, they would just compare them to MC, and yeah but I cannot see MC dying. the other stuff about what the brothers would be like after MC dies could also be applied to when MC chooses her s/o. i think the brothers would be super fucking hurt, that was their first love, their first understanding who walked out and chose someone who wasnt them. anyways thats all, you dont have to reply i just felt like i needed to get this off of my chest, also im gonna be pretty frequent on your blog ( i love ur writing ) so im gonna call myself cake anon! have a great day! - cake anon

Hello Cake! iluuu! Thanks for this, i really love getting every ones take on these things! And there is defs a lot that i agree with here. 

I agree with the Mammon part. Out of all of the brothers, i feel he is probably the easiest to get emotionally attached in a relationship, so i see him as the one with the most previous relationships. Asmo coming in second, but his being mostly flings or poly/open relationships. I’m sure Mammon has had some serious ones as well as many flings, where Asmo’s have never been overly serious and certainly never long lasting. I’m also sure Luci has had a few, some more serious than others, but he wouldn’t get overly attached emotionally. I’m sure he’d be too busy with Diavolo since arriving, being the workaholic he is. I’m sure not many partners would be willing to deal with that level of non-commitment and emotional unavailability from him.Levi I feel like all his relationships never left that awkward early stage, and his only ‘serious’ relationships would have been strictly online, maybe a couple meetups that made him nope right out of it. Satan, again, has probably just gone on some casual dates but didn’t have much interest in actually dating rather than gaining connections. i feel like Beel is the most likely candidate to have had healthy previous relationships. He is pretty well balanced emotionally and has a good outlook on love and family values. I’m sure he’s had a few serious relationships and has dated his share of people. Belphie gives me vibes of had one or two previous serious relationships that did not end well at all and now he’s a salty sob over it lmao. 

I still don’t feel like MC is necessarily their first true love, but maybe the first different kind of love for them. MC has reached them in ways no one else has, they don’t try to change anything, they fit in well with the whole family, they understand their sins etc. I have loved a few different people in my life, and each one was such a different experience for me. The first guy i loved, i consider to be my first true love. However, it didn’t work. And then i met the man I eventually married, he wasn’t my first true love, but it was a better kind of love, yk? 

And uugghh you ripped my heart out with how the brothers would feel if MC chose a different brother!!!! Because they all would be so heartbroken it’s not them, but they really truly just want mc to be happy and cared for, and they know their brother would keep them safe and provide well. 

A few asks ago, i mentioned that the brothers would move on eventually. I think there is a big difference in moving on and getting over that I maybe didn’t articulate very well. If MC were to die or choose someone else, they would move on eventually, but they might not ever really get over it. My heart hurts just thinking about how they would feel trying to move on. Like you mentioned, the empty, quiet dinner tables, lackluster parties and festivals, it would be like they lost their best friend. (i giggled picturing your mammon scenario with the pickle because that’s exactly how he’d react to something so small lmaooo)

I also agree that i don’t think the devs will kill mc off (again), that just seems like a really crappy way to end the game!! I’m curious to see how they would make different routes go if you can only romance one of them end game, vs you being able to have them all? I wonder if we’d get a choice in the whole becoming immortal thing or not?

madeline woodrow didn’t actually have a name for the first??? three months of her life?? she was born on an unusually cold september night, to two incredibly young teen parents who just so happened to be addicted to illicit substances, her ‘mother’ abandoned her at the hospital with a weak immune system and pretty much fighting for her life. she was born with holes on the heart, resulting in surgery during the first week of her life. however, her ailments soon came right ( for now ) and madeline was adopted into a well-off, seemingly loving family; the Woodrow’s, who happened to have a young child already,,,, you guessed it,,, named.... darcy. eyyyyyy [ tik tok vc ] sibling check 

growing up into a family that valued achievements and success over, well... anything, really, madeline had always felt a little out of place. Her parents were well-off academics who took pride in their work, her older brother seemed to be a genius, whereas school work had never been madeline’s strong-suit. like, yeah, okay, she was smarter than the average person in class, but learning was never something she was interested in. books didn’t interest her like they did darcy and while she was passing all of her classes, there were no outstanding academic awards for barely trying. 

instead, madeline seemed to have a naturally affinity for sports. she loved the outdoors, she was the kid that was always picked to be team leader,,,, u know the kids who think they’re better than everyone on the field..... akskskskks that was HER. she may not have been as academically gifted as the rest of her family, but she would bet none of them could throw an object further than her, that was for sure. 

it was an accident, finding out she was adopted. Robert & Stephanie Woodrow had many quiet discussions over the years as to what would be best for Mads, they both felt she should know, but ig they were just scared??? bc they never??? really. mentioned it to her. buT MORE ON THAT SOON 

madeline loved tennis. it was her favourite sport, she was literally on track to go to the olympics at one point in her life, when disaster struck. she was in the middle of an intense game when randomly, mads passed out on the court and fell on her leg the wrong way. not only had her heart problems come crashing through the door; she now had to have another surgery on her leg along with months of rehabilitation. 

the kicker???? this was around the same time grandfather Woodrow had passed away, leaving the remaining kin to deal with his crippling debt. she was barely sixteen when this happened. well - technically grandfather Woodrow had left her mother, father and brother a huge amount of crippling debt, whereas madeline wasn’t even mentioned in the will. no inheritance to her name, especially no debt to her name - there was no mention of a madeline woodrow in his last will and testament at all. 

that was when madeline found out about her true origins; she was left in a hospital by her birth parents, she was born with holes in the heart and now, now she couldn’t even play tennis again. Ever. 

Madeline, once held on a high pedestal due to her athletic achievements, held on a high pedestal by being a Woodrow, had come tumbling down to reality. She didn’t know, and still doesn’t know who she really is to this day. 

Now that all her athletic careers are out the window - her leg never fully recovered and now on top of taking medications for her heart problems every day, she has a barely noticeable limp while she’s walking or jogging, madeline is majoring in creative writing. she needed a back up plan, and while this is nowhere near what she wanted to do with her life at all, not even close, she has to deal with the hand she’s been dealt. 

because of everything she’s been lowkey trying to find her birth parents without the Woodrow’s finding out bc she doesnt wanna break :// their hearts :// but she wants to KNOW WHO SHE IS 

PERSONALITY & HEADCANONS 

it doesn’t take a lot to get madeline to do anything. she’s down for an adventure (within reason bc she is !! not as healthy !! as she likes to think anymore), pretty easy to get along with. admittedly, her IQ is not as high as darcy’s (she’d never admit that, obV) but she’s witty and sharp with her tongue. because of everything she has been through, has a very warped sense of the world atm. 

won’t admit it but second guesses everything. she genuinely believes?? she’s not good enough??? for the life she’s been given, which is why she excelled in sports, but now that’s out the window too she’s kind of just... flailing. 

despite being a woodrow,,,, does noT have as big of a stick up her ass like the rest of them. but she’s still a woodrow, the stick is still there. sometimes. 

Madeline is used to the finer things in life, however has adjusted since their grandfather royally did a number on them. she wont admit it, but she misses how easy money had been to access. 

she carries !!! a walking stick in her bag sometimes in case her leg is just Extra Bad. she hates to use it. probably never will admit to needing to use it 

is on heart medication. does not stop her from doing Stupid Things 

will literally be like Darcy who??? to your face but as soon as someone say something about him, she will literally fight you. leg and heart problems and all this bitch will throw the fuck down for her brother, and that’s that.

Looks like henry and windy are at it again. Lets give them hell shall we.

Mmm look at that delicious hint. Alright you know the drill lets look at obvious stuff first. 

1: We’ve got a recording microphone. Specifically based on the shape it looks like we either have a condenser mic (specifically a large condenser mic) or a Ribbon microphone. Knowing what we do about Present Mic canonically (He has a radio show) we can assume this Mic also has a radio show (or a vlog, we’ll get to that later) which means he’s probably using a Ribbon Microphone given that they’re said to have the most natural sound and are usually used for recording human voices. 

But we can take this further. 

Hizashi’s Microphone is a mounted mic on stand... obviously (they help with audio quality). And he appears to have a pop filter on the front (basically it makes audio not sound like shit or in the words of an expert: “One of the simplest recording gadgets is the humble pop filter... positioned between the vocalist and your microphone to block plosives – those percussive P and B sounds that cause annoying low frequency bumps.”- a random fucking website, I did this research myself, I’m not sighting it if I don't have to.)

2: Red eyes. Now Hizashi canonically in the Bnha comics has read eyes, it was changed for the show... for atheistic reasons I guess? This isn’t some measly one off, because Windy and Henry aren’t sloppy. Lets take a look at what versions of Mic have green eyes. The mad hatter. Waiter Hizashi. That's it... there aren't that many full color pictures of hizashi with his eyes colored/open. 

But lets look at who has red eyes. God’s Abomination, specifically when it’s villain mic and hero eraser. (there's no fully colored version the other way round so I’m just sort of assuming his eyes are green when it’s hero hizashi and villain eraser, would make my job soooo much easier being able to draw that conclusion) BUT NOPE I can’t make that clear decisive cut of red means evil, because guess what... HERO MIC HAS RED EYES IN SCREECH’S AU.

But you know what we do know. 

Mic isn’t a hero. Henry told us as much. 

Odd emphasis on not there... implies he’s a villain. But we wont rule out civilian yet.

Now we get to talk about this:

Firstly, that one eye visible one eye not is a fucking trope in the art world.

Nah, I’m joking it’s been around a lot longer than him. But the glasses glare and the one eye is a very common theme. Don’t believe me?

And doing something with a character’s eyes is always a trope! Character got possessed??? Guess what you can change the eyes to clue your audience in! You’re character just went fucking feral? SLITTED PUPILS ARE THE WAY MY DUDE. Aizawa Shouta just activated his quirk? Zoom in on them eyes, change color and do a weird color fracture. 

Super powerful character has eyes flash? Totally normal, robot character’s eyes change color when scanning? One eye changes color?

Heterochromia is also super common. 

This implies that Hizashi is dangerous, since it’s not happening before a fight as far as I can tell, it just implies he’s a dangerous man and not to be messed with. 

Also remember how I mentioned vlogging? There is the off chance Hizashi is blogging and that’s why his attention isn't on his microphone. Or he could be looking at photos,  or something... maybe a kidnapped and tied up Aizawa... who knows. 

3: Now lets look at that dialog. 

“He was amazing!” We can infer that the he in this situation is probably Aizawa... though it could technically be anyone. But we’re going to stick with Aizawa. 

He was amazing? Well sounds a bit like Hizashi talking about Hero Aizawa, having seen Aizawa on patrol or even having fought him. One this is for sure, this is probably an obsessive mic. The sort that fixates on Aizawa or the like. Seems to me like a villain obsessing over a hero. Now, subtler details. 

1: Lets take a look at this background. That’s glass right there which means this isn't Hizashi’s house, this is a recording studio. And Hizashi is either the host or is being interviewed, and we can rule that out due to the fact his feet are up and it’s fucking rude to do that if your being interviewed. 

Now this could also be a police interrogation room, but the chair lends to it not being so, as does his posture and the mic itself. No this is a recording studio which means Mic defiantly has his own show.

Not only that, he’s a public figure. And probably a villain!

2: Hand guestures are something distinctly Hizashi. As someone who speaks with their hands the same way he does, expressing with hands isn’t just a thing for other people, you move your hands by yourself, reminding yourself to put on socks with motions, etc. But that, that's an odly specific position. 

Now talking with your hands is a common phenomena, books have been written about it, it allegedly conveys strong leadership and the like... however it’s also a trait sociopaths and psychopath are known to mimic in order to endear people to them. Now let me put up a sociopath/psycopath checklist (The tests are very similar and I didnt feel like doing both) and lets look at Present Mic as a character.

GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM — The tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Psychopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything.  A psychopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example. ✓ Hey, look Charm? Never gets tongue tied... hmmm

GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH — A grossly inflated view of one’s abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Psychopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings. ✓ This one is a little harder to check off, because he’s not nearly as self centered, but cocky? yeah... yep, so he gets half a point here.

NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM — An excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky. Psychopaths often have low self-discipline in carrying tasks through to completion because they get bored easily. They fail to work at the same job for any length of time, for example, or to finish tasks that they consider dull or routine. ✓ I dunno if you’ve met Hizashi, but this fits in rather well.

PATHOLOGICAL LYING — Can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest. ✓ If he’s a villain he checks this easily. Especially if he’s a public figure AND a villain. 

CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS — The use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one’s victims. ✓ See above

LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT — A lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, cold-hearted, and non-empathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one’s victims. Ehhh… I really need to see more of this version of Hizashi to determine that. 

SHALLOW AFFECT — Emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open See above.

CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY — A lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless. Once again see above

PARASITIC LIFESTYLE — An intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities. Nope.

POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS — Expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily. ✓ Acting hastily? Yep.

PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR — A variety of brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs, and an indiscriminate selection of sexual partners; the maintenance of several relationships at the same time; a history of attempts to sexually coerce others into sexual activity or taking great pride at discussing sexual exploits or conquests. Cannonically this would make sense but we wont check it.

Let me spell this out for you, Hizashi is displaying an oddly exaggerated handmotion, even for the most exuberant of hand talkers. (Generaly talking with your hands never gets outside of a box, here I’ve drawn the box on mic for you.)

The larger box is where most people talk and people why are shy or have been bullied/are self conscious of their hands talk in the smaller box. 

He as a character ticks of most of a psychopathic checklist and if he is indeed a psychopath he could have learned that hand motion endear people to you. Now I’m not saying he is a psychopath, most people tick off at least 4 of those boxes, I’m just saying it’s possible.

The story thus far.

For my new followers, or as a refresher for my long time followers!

The story of a poor stubborn little shit.

Hello new followers! My name is Hiccup! It's been brought to my attention that I should probably make one of these, since I've actually been working with a bit of a story line recently! Luckily, not too many things of importance have happened - But it all started with a split lip.

As you may or may not know, Crutchie is a scrappy little thing. He's not one to back down from a fight, and he's certainly not afraid to defend himself or his friends. More than once the boy has shown up with black eyes or a bruised jaw.

For example, he once met a kid named Benny -- Benny was being picked on pretty bad. He's a few years younger than Crutchie, and a little different than the other boys. So when Crutchie found out he was getting pushed around, he took it upon himself to soak the guy responsible. A couple cuts and bruises, but he walked away successful, Benny now under his wing. ( Benny makes sporadic appearances! )

So it's not strange to see Crutchie show up with bruises here and there. What is strange, is what brings you here. One day, our feisty little Crutchie showed up with a new cut. A new bruise. "What happened?" His followers wailed, expecting some heroic or silly story behind these new injuries. "Oh. Nothin' just... Fell over."

Strange. His followers pleaded, begged him to tell the truth, but he wasn't budging. The following days brought more and more bruises. Crutchie keeping to himself, visibly upset - Hurting and obviously afraid. Until one day -- He couldn't hide it anymore.

Blood and bruises and cuts covered his face. His shirt ripped, stained with red. He asked for help. It was then Crutchie revealed he had run into someone from his past. Someone he didn't he would ever see again. His older brother, Jacob. He confessed to his followers that he was born because of an affair that his mother had. His father, enraged by this began to drink -- Abusing both him and his previously praised older brother. His mother coddled Jacob, but neglected Crutchie, all the way up until they abandoned him. Leaving him sick and scared on the streets of Manhattan.

Of course, his brother should blame him. Of course this is all his fault. He deserved the abuse, he ensured his followers -- He wouldn't hear otherwise. And that's where that ends -- For now.

Overwhelmed by all of these emotions, Crutchie needed a day to breathe. He needed a day to himself, away from everything and everyone - So he left. Vanished from the lodging house before anyone else had woken up. He walked and walked and walked -- A series of unfortunate events followed. Because why would he be able to catch a break? A kid approached, talking big. Trying to act tough by stealing a kid's crutch from under his arm before pushing him to the ground. Crutchie begged him to leave him alone, but the bully persisted.

At this point, our precious Crutchie was fed up -- So he challenged him. "Alright fine. Let's make a bet." He raised a brow at the kid, pointing to his crutch. "Arm wrestle me. I win, I get my crutch back. And as an added bonus, I wont punch you in your big nose. You win, you keep my crutch and you CAN punch me in my big nose." Of course, the bully accepted, a disgusting grin on his face.

Crutchie beat him. Easily. Not once, but twice. This bully, enraged by being beaten by whom he assumed was an easy target, very obviously wasn't going to keep his end of the deal. Instead, he punched Crutchie ( it's okay, he barely felt it ) and took his crutch anyway. 'Great' Crutchie thought. He was a few miles from the lodging house, and now he didn't have his crutch. It was going to be fun getting back.

After a while of limping, dragging his bad leg, he asked himself - "What else could go wrong?" We all know better than to do that, don't we? The sky opened up, soaking Crutchie to the bone in the matter of moments. Lucky for him -- "'Scuse me? You doin' alright?" A voice like an angel rang in his ears ( the followers shriek. ) "UH. YEAH UH." Crutchie replied. This guy had an umbrella. Which mean he had money. The unidentified beautiful man held the umbrella out, blocking the rain from soaking our freckled protag any further. After a moment of discussion ( that i'll actually write into fic form once i kick this writers block, ) our helpful stranger, Crutchie now knew as Joseph, walked him back to the apartment his family owned.

Joseph let Crutchie bathe. He gave him some dry clothes. He let him eat until he couldn't anymore. He promised to help Crutchie find his crutch in the morning. He got to sleep in a big, soft, clean, bed.

Jack was in a panic until Crutchie re - appeared the next day, completely unharmed. The entire city had been looking for him. Crutchie didn't know. He didn't think anyone would notice he was gone. He didn't think he mattered that much... It took a while, but Jack forgave him.

And that my friends, is where we are.

tl;dr

Crutchie has a brother named Jacob that kicked his ass. He ran off to breathe one day and met a guy named Joseph.

Just as an added note, this blog will always be mostly a Q&A blog! There won't always be big pieces of plot to keep up with, so don't stress!

It’s been a while since I’ve used this blog hence why if you're scrolling through your tumblr dashboard you’re about to see a whole lot of back dated work from me, for that I apologise! 

After summer ended last year I stopped shooting as much and got into a bit of a rut and started to feel as though I was losing my touch and could no longer work creatively as I had become far too used to just shooting what I needed to for work. I felt like the images i was creating weren’t really a reflection of my best work as I wasn’t using a lot of the skills I learnt at university I was just developing a “point and shoot” mentality just taking the photo and not thinking about the content or putting creative thought into what I was doing. I feel like this is a very easy thing to do when you’re just doing the same thing over and over it just seems to lose meaning.

Feeling like this made me question myself in a lot of ways. “Should I still be doing this?” - “Am I good enough to be doing what I’m doing” - “Do I know what I’m doing or am I winging it” - “Do I need to find a new job” - What do I want to be doing in life” etc ect. All questions I didn't really know the answer to and some still don’t. I’m not going to lie for weeks and weeks it got me down I shut myself off a bit and became miserable and often came home from work and just laid and did nothing for at least an hour or so before realising I had things I needed to do. 

After going through this for a while I finally realised it wasn’t good for me and decided to talk to friends and family about what I was going through and how I was feeling. Which did really help, so to anyone feeling the same I strongly advise talking to people. I know it sounds stupid and it’s what everyone says and when you feel that way it seems pointless and you feel like they wont be able to help you but you don’t know until you try. 

I don’t remember who I was talking to or how it came about but through thinking and talking to friends and family about how I was feeling I managed to find some way to make myself feel positive about life again. I realised that yes I didn’t know what I wanted to do in life in many ways but there was one thing I really enjoyed and wanted to do more of and that was travelling. It was something I’d thought of doing for years but always had excuses not to, “I cant afford it” - “I have rent and bills to pay and wont earn any money while I’m away to pay it” - “I have to work” - “I cant leave my job for weeks or months at a time and expect to still have it when I get back”. They were exactly what I said, excuses! I could save if I really tried, I could work a way around rent and bills if I timed it right and at the minute I’m really lucky to be working for people who are understanding, value me as an employee and I consider to be great friends. 

So that was it, my turning point. From then on travelling has been my main goal to look forward to. I’m useless at saving but currently I’m about half way to my target amount and have about 3 months left to save so I’m confident I can do it. The thought of travelling has kept me going the last few months, most of what was bothering me is still there in the back of my mind and does still crop up and get me down often but not half as much as it was at the time. I’m staying focused on travelling and trying to worry about the rest when I get back. Who knows while I’m away I might have a sudden realisation while I’m away and everything might click into place (generic travelling to find myself kind of thing to say I know). Travelling is definitely going to be good for me in many ways, everything is going to be new, new people, new places and new perspectives, this is exactly what i need when I get stuck in a rut! 

In addition to deciding I wanted to go travelling I’ve recent also begun to change my outlook and become creative again which is great! Late December during the rush of Christmas and new year at work it was proposed that we should go through a bit of a re brand with our social media. So once the rush of December was over we sat down and discussed what we wanted to do with the brand in 2018. This meant I could air some of my opinions of what I wanted to be doing photography wise and could change how I was working on a day to day basis to make it more interesting and more creative and more what I enjoyed and what I wanted to be doing. It’s a working progress and a challenge  but it’s coming along nicely as you can see here. 

I’ve also begun to shoot more images for myself, something in recent times I’d set aside a little because I “Didn’t have the time” or “Didn’t have any ideas”. This came about through me having one of my bouts of “ugh everything I’m doing is crap!” I begun to look through previous work and the more I looked the worse I felt because I was just thinking about how good my work used to be and what I used to be able to do. This was a very negative way for me to be thinking about it but at the time was the only way I could think. After a little time feeling sorry for myself I snapped out of it and thought about it in a more positive way. I looked at my free time and how I was using it and realised I had 2-3 days where I could be doing something more than moping or binge watching the latest series on Netflix. So I decided to put a post out to see if I could organise some shoots on my days off, including trying to push myself further a field to Manchester and London (it didn’t work but it was worth a try and I still went to London, photos below). I got some good responses from posting saying that I wanted to shoot with people and scheduled in a couple of shoots, mostly with friends but who cares I was shooting and being creative again! (photos from these shoots are further down the blog). Since then I’ve been shooting nearly every week and posting photos from these shoots a few times a week and getting a fairly decent response from them which has boosted my confidence in myself again! I still feel like I have a lot of work to do with my photography but I’m not going to master it over night I guess!

I’m going to round it up now because I feel like I could just keep on rambling forever and I’m lucky if people even got this far down this post as it is! The main lessons to be learnt from this post (some of which I still need to learn myself and which even though I’m spelling them out in black and white myself I may still forget from time to time) are: 

Stewing in problems doesn’t solve anything, you need to do something about it! 

Thinking is good but overthinking is dangerous

Talk to people

Change can be a good thing so don’t be scared of it (I know I am but I’m trying not to be from now on!)

Try new things

Look at things with a new perspective

Positive self reflection can be helpful

Push yourself to do things

Change things you don’t like

Being creative is hard but not impossible

I had the feeling that we can biologically trust people more, who talk less, and sometimes say hard things to us.

Why did i feel that this might be true? When we talk to someone, the things that mock us are kept the longest in memory, because we dont agree with them and try to fit our mind to it. So, statistically, the longer someone talks, the more points you find, where you dont agree. Even in this text right now, this might be the case. So if someone doesnt really talk much, there are statistically less points which we subconciosly associate with that person, where we dont agree with them. So we concentrate and put more attention on the people who talk less, because our brain registers that information as important, because (again statistically) considers the information as „clean“. Also it is clearly easier to concentrate on small seldom bits of information, rather than an endless stream of attentionwhoring messages. The second point about saying harsh things is derived from following observation: sometimes we just feel ugly, even if we are not. So when someone starts to compliment us in this moments, we ignore that statement for ourselves and (again subconcoiusly) interpret this as a lie, which again reduces our felt trust for the words of that person. So again it might be favourable for the trust, to lets say at least in rare cases, mock such a person with statements which you usually dont tell people. This really doesnt mean you should go out there an hurt people, but if you are close to someone, consider stopping to tell them how beatiful they are, when they clearly do not feel this way. They usually know, how beautiful you find them, but if they feel ugly despite this fact, what do you think is going to change, if you underline it. if you tell them ugly things like: „you really should take a shower“ or „you look like a mess, fix youself“ or „you definitly need some sleep“ they might at first respond agressively, but when they really feel like that, they are much more likely to anticipate your statemts opposed to the „tellstories“ of how beautiful they are. Also note that none of these statements are hurtful, rather they imply a problem included in a suggention for improvement, which is known under the term of constructive critisism.

And now, at this point, you might notice a discrepancy. This text is longer than any post ever written on this blog even though it contains the message to talk less. Did i just fail because sometimes, its hard to practice what you preach? Especially, when you are deeply in love and you want to share every single moment with that person and continiously tell them how beautiful they are. So is this what we want to avoid? Naturally, the logical conclusion of this blog must be to just stop being madly in love. But here comes the point, never, under any circumstances, stop loving. Because when love comes in play, these rules stop working. In all of the previous argumentation we missed out on the very important fact, that your opponent is now in love with us as well. (Considering we are in a healthy relationship) When someone is in love, they suck up every word that comes of our lips, as if it was pure molten gold. If they really love you, their trust is never gonna break from subconcious disagreements with your words. Rather they will search a discussion with you. Further, this doesnt mean that you are not allowed to leave constructive critisism while still telling them how beautiful you find them, which might come off as very contradicting, but at least you are being honest with youself, your partner and how you feel. Communication is key. Never limit yourself on words you want to share with a person. It takes time to accept that there is nothing wrong about being in love so much that you cannot stop talking. Embrace it, show it how you feel, let the words flow over the screen of your partner, tell it in person or put them in a song. They wont stop loving you, because you wont stop loving them.

A personal statement at this point: I will never stop loving you, because you will never stop loving me.

A disclosure on the possible imbalance of recepted attention or „I write / talk much more than my partner, what can I do?“ Direct answer: Keep on going! The probably most important step in this case is, to register how useless it is, to compare „your“ love with that of your partner. No one loves „more“ in an honest relationship, once you remind youself that love is something mutual. Its something you hold on together. Its not an investment fond where each of you provides different amounts of shares, its completly free and every word you share makes it grow. Also remember all the things that are true for yourself as they are true for your partner too: Sometimes its hard to find the right words, sometimes we dont have the time or the inspiration for a lot of words, sometimes we prefer silence, sometimes we’d rather speak in person, sometimes we need time for ourselves, sometimes we even need that critisism but all of that is nothing to be afraid of. Because eventually, if you both care, you will find the right words to share and once you share them, they are part of your relationship and will pull you closer, no matter whom of you said them, the only important point is, that you shared them. So, the solution to a problem with communication is communication, let that sink in. Dont be afraid of you words. If you are honest and belive in what you say, words will do wonders.

P.S. This text might come off as complete bollocks, but if the right person reads this at the right time, i am sure that it will provide enogh impulse for self reflection to understand ourselves better aswell as throwing a new light on communication, since writing this down helped me to put my mind in order again and leading me back to a path where i can enjoy writing endless texts out of pure love, no matter how busy my partner is right at the moment.

Thoughts of a raging Vegan Ice Cream-aholic

Hello world, as I sit here with another pint I decided to get my GYBlog on again. Why does Ice cream and blogging go so well together?? IDK, but Ive had a pretty good weekend I hope ll you guys did too. Today SirDuke Skywalker (the artist I featured on my Small Town track) took me and a handful of other artist in the paducah area out to eat at the Harris Metropolis Casino. We all had buffet and I mos def ate more than anyone at the table my dude. I fasted all day for that shit and it was definitely worth it. The dinner went well though, the Paducah art and music scene is going through a metamorphosis. Im finally starting to see the rap scene doing the same. I only separate the two because rap is always been a braggadocios game, compared to other art forms. Not always a bad thing but it can lead to jealousy and a bunch of people always trying to 1up each other rather than assist and win together. Just my opinion tho. Point being that today i sat with like 8 other rappers from paducah and we just had fun. Uno Vee shot a promo video for the showcase duke is hosting this Friday night at the Civic Center. and yes I do have a show this Friday already in Mayfield......Im doing both.......so yes come to both!!! there Hasnt been very many times ive just kicked it with some rap artist in my area and I hope it happens more often. Instead of all the hating and fighting BS....i dont fall into all that drama anyways tho. I hope the kentucky scene can start to flourish in the ways these bigger cities do. We may not have the opportunities around here as most big cities but we sure as hell have enough talented artist to make something happen. I cant wait to see it progress further. While im on the subject of coming together for support, id like to talk about my night last night. Devin Metzger is a homie of mine from Graves who has aways been involved with music. Last night he held a festival type ordeal that raised money for the Glover family who suffered a loss recently. My love goes out to them. Devin and all the crazy jam band fanatics he knows got together and played for like 13 hours straight it was crazy. I was honored to be invited as the only hip hop act. So 1 hour and 30 mins at least of that goes to me and GYB. Ive performed many of places for all sorts of crowds but never before in the woods hooked up to an extension cord. I was technically out of my element genre wise but ive never felt so in it lol. Can all my shows please be in the woods from now on? I felt the approval of the trees and stars, the animals of the forrest were fucking with me hard for real. Back to what I was saying tho.....I was a tad bit nervous of what all these other artist, parents, and random assortment of people who probably never listen to any rap would think of me but i quickly shook that off. THEY LOVED IT. I really effectively delivered the GYB message to some very appreciative people last night. Got hugs and all types of compliments. Just more assurance that my mission is much more important than making great music. The movement and message I put behind each thing i do continues me on the right path. I may have an army of live instrumentalist to play at my shows now lol anyways the show was dope so thank you Devin for that! The love i received was unreal, it really took me back to the road. Getting love from strangers out of town is such a great feeling. To recreate those same emotions back home were amazing. Because i honestly feel so over looked and under appreciated as an artist around here sometimes. maybe because I am a crazy white person with dreads and im pale as hell but i rap. once again IDK. Prolly just me being my own worst critic, thats slowly dissipating tho. I swear, this ice cream gets lower to the bottom of the pint and then I realized ive typed up a novel and I dont even know what the hell ive said or why lol but whatever. Im going to cut it now and go watch some dragon ball super until I pass out. I wont release any spoilers for those of you who havent gotten up to date with it but SHIT IS REAL RIGHT NOW!!! ive been going hard for days straight at this point.
