I....... do not read Jikook fanfiction. Idk whether its because they're real people or what? But I don't read like the serious stuff. I only read the twitter crack AUs because they're not to be taken too seriously. Like I have it on good authority this one will make me laugh so I'm reading it tonight. my mcc season 2 highlights!

these are my favourite povs from season 2! im quite focused on the whole mcc viewing experience, so there will be whole vods in here, as well as enjoyable and/or high scoring individual and team performances, alongside some funny moments. keep in mind i am a jordan and enjoyer, and i expect a lot of this to be jordan and jojo focused!! (tumblr has a ten link limit per post, so the last three povs do not have a link, but they're all easy to find as they are recent as of now! just up on yt)

yellow15 is honestly one of my personal favourite teams ever. it took one game, ace race, for them to move up to 2nd from 6th, and is one of the best scoring ace races of all time. really nice teamwork from then on, and even if they got swept in db, they had great comms and lots of funny moments together. 

purple16 OHHH MY GOD this team was crazy especially in the last moments of sg- i would highly recommend the whole pov to see their bm dominance and everything else too! This events sg was one of my faves so i recommend sylvees pov of that as well, its so chaotic but funny to watch in terms of context for the rest of the game!! 

yellow16’s sot was one of my favs this season, with it being a unique team that surprisingly did well together! hbomb was a runner whilst he helped ponk who was sandkeeper on his first ever mcc, leading yellow into first place with 5k coins!! An insane run, with funny moments from george, reacted to by hbomb in his vod reviews. 

Mcc17 - this mcc is so special to me, as it is to so many other people, like the mcsr and hermitcraft community on here!! I highly recommend you watch both orange and pinks whole povs. In terms of team composition, experience and strengths, they were so different, so they had completely different feeling mccs. orange17 were Chilling and smoothly working their way to db, communicating with ease and trusting in their experience and each other.(petes ace race was so SMOOTH here too)

pink17 really went up against every obstacle to make it to db, even co-sandkeeping from zeuz and vixella to manage sot, and to top it all off a crazy sg performance from them! 

Aqua17 sg- now this one. Is not great but their pov when facing pink in skybattle is very funny

Aqua17 sot - vault clutch from jordan that got them to 2nd place! well co-ordinated :) 

rising was really nice, and i wasnt expecting to love it so much tbh! The energy around the event felt so different, with 40 contestants that were barely known to the community at the time. So many people spent hours practicing and gained whole followings from the event, notably the orange ocelots(eloise and owen now work for noxcrew, and bekyamons just been introduced to the main roster of mcc players, alongside all 3 of them being more well known ccs) yoshinom and makoinari. Owen has a great video about his time during rising that is really well put together and is so worth watching! 

pink was an absolute treasure of a team, so wonderful to watch them all pop off respectively, especially jojo and nestorio! Jojo had a great hero moment in the events most chaotic sot, and this was my first time watching nestorio, who was so sweet and positive during the event. Pink had a really lovely db too:) 

pink22 obviously. OBVIOUSLY this is here it was so crazy from their pov too. 4 corners of the community unexpectedly worked so well together, had GREAT comms, especially in pkt and meltdown! A really nice sot, as well as a clutch first place in tgttos from the one and only oli the orion sound!!

THE GOLDEN GALS OH them them them them them them them them them them i am so insane about them really. such a highlight to not only get an womens team BUT little did we know that this was the beginning of this being regular in mcc!! sylvees space race reaction was so good as well as her and jojo celebrating at the end of their run! It was so cute and i think my fave moment all season!! Jojos ace in bb, overall crazy teamwork and good vibes from the whole team. soo so good

cyan24 had such a nice run up to the event. this season kinda sees the end of practice streams but jojo caught on to how much they help, because its about the Bonding not the Minecraft Practice! they prepared so much and it really payed off, especially with their sot!!

green25 just. So good i am so happy they won obviously they are really really strong, but they deserved it i think. There is no other pov for 25, its green till the end. Jojo continues to lead her team in such a nice relaxed way i love her

teal28 i cant believe jordan won AGAIN and its with some of The people Ever for him. Punz from yellow15(remember them) and sneeg from cyan18 and blue23(both close third places) and jimmy alllll the way back from blue3, which was the first ever 9/9 bb, and second time jordan lost a db. It felt like full circle moment for jordan to win with these three, and for teal to SWEEP DB omg. 1) jordan himself had been swept so much, and he had been swept in mcc15 with punz and in mcc3 with jimmy. 2) jimmys 1V3 i have never screamed such a scream it was so impressive

Hello! :) I totally get your surprise because the English fandom of the show is not the biggest when there aren't any legal ways to watch it beyond S01 on Netflix that was available for a time and the English subtitles on the MC YT channel that aren't great. Besides, the show ended more than 7 years ago (while MCK ended more than 4 years ago) and most of the fanbase during its official release have understandably moved on to other things. Still, the fandom in here is truly awesome even like this!

Yes, my personal favourite character of the franchise is Mahidevran, but I like many others, too, including Hürrem. What I specifically admire about her is the way she reacts in situations that demand quick action like the Janissary rebellion, where, in parallel with Valide, she guided everyone in Hatice's castle to safety. That situation showed well a fair share of her leadership skills I wish we saw applied like this more often: the way she kept her cool and only focused on getting to the end of it is something one could learn from her. In these instances she leaves every possible personal ire or worry aside and that's an interesting angle of her strength. Keeping your head clean brings to quicker and more effective solutions and that's a virtue Hürrem had on a big level when it was needed (like when she saved Hatice's baby in E29) and such way of navigating tense situations could be very useful even today.

Her ambition and determination could be something to be learned from her and followed on when in moderation - they sure can help one achieve success or a desired goal. These traits of Hürrem's still remain more strictly time period-based and they certainly cannot be applied to the extent she applied them now, but if parts of them manage to inspire people to improve themselves and get better in their craft, there's nothing wrong with that!

While she shows it less and less often the closer we get to S04, Hürrem has genuine compassion inside her that allows her to connect other people's experiences to her own and sympathize with them. (or on the opposite end of things, make them sympathize with her overall like with Afife in E72, or with a cause of hers like with the woman in E93.) That way, she's able to show understanding to their issues while still motivating them to keep on going. (comforting Hatice in E42 and E44) That's definitely a virtue of hers worth having. It could also be neatly complimented to her ability to lighten up the mood and cheer people up (like with Aybige when things weren't working out between her and Bali Bey) and who doesn't like a cheerful person? It would be better if this was even more capitalized on with Hürrem.

(This mostly feels like an online diary entry, so forgive the spillage of thoughts that could become a jumbled rambling mess.)

Still speaking as somebody who's still fairly new to the RWBY fandom and still learning new things every day via RWBYtwt and here on RWBYtumblr, and just talking with fans who've been with the show for as long as its been airing, it sometimes feels like I've already been here for years.

It's incredible how I learn how entirely toxic and immature the fandom chooses to be than just grow up and accept the flaws that their favourite show has. Even the ugliest flaws that they refuse to fix and has hindered them for years.

To be honest, I've always been a critical person. Even for shows that I absolutely love without question, I won't blind myself to the flaws they have. I don't like to be treated like I'm an idiot, so I assume shows would also not want to treat their viewers like they're idiots that can't pinpoint the problems in the writing or animation.

But what I may say is that the biggest reason why I even started this RWDE Tumblr is because of Twiins and her sister, Critter. I really loved hearing their opinions on episodes, what could be fixed and their video essays on what to do/what not to do in writing. It hits different when you're hearing it from people who've been watching RWBY from the very beginning. It's like they're veterans and I'm just this peewee still trying to figure out how the hell aura works.

Actually, I've always been a fan of people who make content that involves looking into TV shows with a critical eye. It makes me think about how I should look at scenes and characters more closely and familiarize myself with how they should've/shouldn't have behaved or how a scene was bad.

I was so sad to see Twiins leave, but I really hope she's happier doing what she likes now without the fandom leeching on her. I can't explain how disappointed I felt when I saw the screencaps of fans being dickheads to her, and even more disappointed to see how bigger RWBY content creators behave. It really did cement into my mind that it's all just some tightknit bro-club that likes to harass people who criticize them for anything they do. It left a bad taste in my mouth at how childish that the adult fans can be. I can understand how frustrating the tweeny fans can be when they have their keyboards and tapping away hate, but I can't find it in myself to be angry at them. Annoyed, but they're stupid kids with stupid motives, they'll grow up and realize how stupid that was. I hope.

(And anyway, these bigger content creators that love RWBY should be putting a better influence on how to behave and how not to be such a toxic bunch to anybody who disagrees. Accept that flaws exist in the show and it's OK to point them out when you feel unhappy with them. It doesn't mean you hate the show - you do like the show, but you just happen to have a big brain and can point out something's wrong in the writing. That's how the world spins.)

Even if this behaviour hasn't been hitting me, I have seen this very behaviour elsewhere. Especially in Twitter - oh how twitter dot com can be the actual cesspool of hatred. It makes Tumblr look angelic.

It's very snake-like on Twitter, as though you should be more than careful to not wake the beast, or else you'll be slammed and eaten up, only to be spat out and left in a twisty mess of "why?" And the fans act fast - a little too fast. With how fast they react to "bad takes" from people who were displeased with things in the show, it did numbers in my head at how the fanbase has truly shrunk in popularity. If it's that easy to find people you hate, then well, I guess this show really is bleeding out like a stuck pig, and the blood is of the fans that leave as quick as they came.

But still, even if the popularity shrunk, it still has the most rabid ones still around, and they rear their little heads more than usual. A mean girls club, the frat club that requires your pain for their pleasure. That seemed to be what the fanbase was towards Twiins and Critter. Just waiting for the next person or existing person to say ONE MORE bad thing about RWBY, and suddenly it's hunting season.

And just to throw in here - even as I was watching RWBY for the first time without context, yes my brain was turned off as I watched the volumes. And I still felt everything frying in my head because nothing was flowing correctly in the episodes and my brain went ouch. I can legit forgive the shit and turn my brain off for the show if anything was fluent and not so stupidly written. But no, I had to turn my brain back on. Because I don't like being treated like an idiot.

I hope nothing but the best for Twiins, and I will still support her and her sister. They both deserve better and deserve the best pizza they've ever had with new or current shows they watch.

Anyways, I am glad that the encouragement from these YT critics gave me the courage to do my own RWDE blog. It's awesome to meet new people who also feel the same, and I love reading/listen to hot takes or new things I'm still opened to learning.

And yeah, the news of RT selling out made me laugh, but it still sucks knowing they'd eventually lose.

Why did I choose my URL?: My first original blog was chroma3 which was something Tumblr suggested. I had a sideblog I wanted to start where I did writing and posted my reviews of stuff but Tumblr sucked and I wanted my writing blog to be my main. So I deleted and restarted (Had around 314 followers on there) I write stuff and technically it’s a shop where you look around for fics to try so I stuck with Rome Writing Shop. It’s diverse and not limited to a single fandom. This is the name I’ll be known by and die by 😅 I don’t have the strength to change it.

My current projects and wips: 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 I have a dissertation and essays to complete but in terms of here: Some of the titles are on my masterlist with ‘Coming Soon’. At the moment, I’m writing Baking Love which I aim to release monthly and have a completed series. My Colt series, Meeting in Paradise is going to be retconned so I’m sorry if you wanted to read it. Okay, idk if saying this is controversial or offensive in any way but like nobody around me UNDERSTANDS and I want to see if anyone like agrees or maybe even loves and does this too??

Okay so I'm guessing pretty much every person who is a fan of rap or just a rapper in general has heard of diss-tracks and everything (all the "beef" and back-and-forth) that goes with it, and probably have a favorite.

Maybe one person's cuz it's from their fave rapper (bit of a cop-out if its the only reason, but understandable), maybe another's cuz the flow is so good and the bars are savage af (probably the most common reason!), OR maybe you're like me:

If you're like me -- You adore the song/diss-track, in your eyes THIS diss was the song put an end to the "feud" and was better than it's competition, it ALSO happens to fit all the reasons listed above for why it is that great. But that is not why it's my favourite!

Before I tell you why, you need to know the song we are talking about, which is:

Killshot by Eminem

Yep! Em's reply to MGK's Rap Devil (which to be fair: not a bad song at all! very catchy! *nods* just not something you use against fucking eminem. either way he did pretty good so no hate here. plus from what I've seen he's been able to find a different, better-fitting niche/genre of music since this--so major kudos to him!), is my favorite for a variety of reasons---most of them normal like the one's listed above, or, if you want to ask, one's I can speak with you about!---but one big reason is rather unique (though maybe not??), and that would be: one particular (glorious) line + the reaction videos.

And it is these two things paired together that gets me. My reaction varies, sometimes I just laugh, sometimes I full-out fucking cackle in like borderline evil laughter, sometimes I'm laughing so hard I'm falling out of my bed or chair while rolling and wheezing, and I ADORE it.

(NOTE: This is the part I'm a more-than-a-little scared that I'll phrase wrong and offend people by trying to explain. There are so many "descriptive" words people say are and aren't offensive these days that I get so confused and that's only partly my autism I think the rest is just normal human confusion. So, if I use the wrong words, or say the wrong things or if this is just offensive period, tell me, I want to know and I want to learn.)

It can't just be any video though, to illicit this response! It has to be a REACTION video for one, and a first time listen. The better reactions come from men listening to the song, for some reason. The BEST reactions come from black men listening to the song, especially older black men who know all about what was going on in the rap world back when we were all either toddlers, infants, in-utero, or nonexistent, because they catch the line I'm about to tell you and Dear LORD do they REACT.

This line is, of course:

"But Kells the day you put out a hit is the day Diddy admits he put out the hit that got 'Pac killed,"

I have watched like a hundred reaction videos for this song at this point. The less fun ones (but still good! Cuz some people don't even catch the line! Like, wtf???) just look shocked, play it back a couple times, or say some variation of "He said what now??!?" The really fun ones (which im gonna try to list some of their YT names(? pages? handles? tf they called? what is wrong with me???) that I like rewatch, scream or even shriek upon hearing the line. There's a LOT of (very hilarious) vehement claims of not being able to handle this and leaving the room. Lots of stunned silences and cussing--in the same video. Really, just TONS of glorious content. Plus, of course, everyone laughs, (sometimes kind-of hysterically) at the songs ending, "Oh, and I'm just playing Diddy. You know I love you," always, everytime.

But yeah that's why it's my favorite and I wanted to share it and see if anyone else did the same? Or wanted to start?

(2ND NOTE: This isn't to say that a man or a woman of any race/ethnicity couldn't or haven't put out a Killshot reaction video that is not only worth watching, but also knows all this background info and therefore catches all these "hidden" (and not so hidden) twists in Em's lyrics -- and therefore reacts in a way that I enjoy or makes me laugh until I cry. They have, its just not really as common.)

If you were curious about possible recommendations for Killshot reactions:

ScriptWorks - Theirs is probably my absolute favorite reaction, they take the time to explain shit that we (read: I) are simply not old enough to know/understand and are entertaining af. Also, if I remember correctly their video is the reaction that started it all, lol. It might also be one of the walk-out ones lol. (Their walk-out reactions are always so funny, for instance: their reaction to ERB: MJ vs. Elvis -- fucking hilarious.)

No Life Shaq - I laughed the entire fucking time. When I say walk-outs I usually mean out of the view of the camera -- if his camera didn't show his whole room he would have like 10, with every one as hilarious as the last. However even with the wide view of the camera, he is one of my beloved Reaction-ers who were like "NOPE! NO." and walked the fuck out leaving me cackling.

Lael Hansen - always good if you want a good hip-hop or rap review or reaction! I loved her Killshot reaction, she knew what was coming and did not disappoint!

LawTWINZ - Pretty sure Em drove these two to drinking, lol. Their reaction made me laugh so hard. At first I though it was another walk-out... Nope! More like they had been shot at or something. Very much worth watching!

Going off of your mini GoT rant, the narrative/show treated Dany and Cersei's rapes differently from Sansa. Which is probably another reason why the fandom believes what happened to Sansa is worse even though rape is rape. It's all the same. To this day people deny Dany and Cersei were ever raped.

Tbh, I wouldn’t have any idea of how the show framed any of these rapes against the others because 1.) I don’t really watch it, other than looking up some scenes if I think they’re amusing or interesting, and 2.) even if I watched it… I would be skipping the rape scenes, ngl. 

But I think putting it as a question of framing is letting fans out of the hook? Fandom always talks about how X show ~framed something wrong, and that’s why they reacted in Z way, etc., but… in my experience, you can have the clearest of framings about ANYTHING (be it rapes, ships, characters’ dissenting POVs, whatever), we are great when it comes to not seeing what we don’t want to see.

Besides, I know the showrunners apparently said some… not ideal things about these SL, and I don’t exactly think they had a progressive intention when they made those scenes, but Daenerys’ and Cersei’s rapes were MUCH more clear-cut in the show, for what I’ve seen on gifsets/scripts/recaps. Cersei physically pushed back, Daenerys was trembling and crying, both men were seen as physically violent… Compare that to book!Drogo supposed ~gentleness (which some people screamed about back in s1, nevermind the fact that he purchased a child bride, yk), or Jaime’s POV obscuring the scene. At the very, very best, those book scenes showed extremely dubious consent, and I appreciate that the show’s versions, if only because they were what-you-see-is-what-you-get and they didn’t rely on character biases, at least started a conversation.

It’s probable that the fact that Sansa’s rapist is written as unredeemable evil, and her feelings for her are purely negative, influences perception, I can agree with those arguments. But even taking into account Daenerys’ and Cersei’s more complicated feelings for theirs, or that the show was more sympathetic to them, I can’t understand how anyone could see those scenes and think they weren’t rape, unless they hate Dany or Cersei, ship them with/like their aggressors and can’t accept that about themselves. 

Coming back to fandom’s reaction in s5… IDK. I would’ve felt a lot different if people would’ve just said “Sansa is my favourite, and that’s why this rape feels worse to me than the others” and called it a day. I love Sansa (loved? IDK, this bs put me off her narrative, but when I watch scenes on YT I still ~feel the luv lol. I named one of my dogs after her, that doesn’t go away easily xD), so I definitely didn’t want her to go through that, let alone watch it. But what I saw were a lot of arguments about how This Shouldn’t Have Happen to Her because she was a main character (what are Cersei and Dany then? Not to mention the fact that they didn’t even think to examine why the rampant sexualized violence of the show can slide by them as long as it happens to ~lesser characters), or worse, because she was the Lady of Winterfell (and therefore it should have gone to Jeyne, because who cares), which I found DISGUSTING to the extreme. A lot of arguments also seemed to imply that it was worse that it happened to her because she’s a “good” person, and I’m not even getting into why that’s a terrible, victim-blame-y thing to say.

I do consider the conversations s5 started, and how it showed people’s different reactions to these rapes, extremely interesting to examine, though. What happens when the rapist isn’t entirely hateful and/or their victim doesn’t simply hate them or fear them, but has/develops romantic feelings for them? WHY some rapes get fandom backlash and others are not even acknowledged AS rapes, and in which ways does fandom rationalize this? This kind of messy, polemic storylines can say a lot more about rape culture than a lot of shows I’ve seen ~praised for “OMG look at this Queen!! Calling out rape culture!! FemINISM!!”, IMO.
