I’m already cripplingly private but way more so in real life #this is basically a low stress journaling outlet for me. it’s so important for me to maintain the separation #like this is actually my diary & has been so handy for letting out emotions / articulating thoughts / staying on track !! #& I’ve met so many kind people on here who actually get me. which is so hard to find irl bc I’m surrounded by pre-med gunners/overachievers #who are by standard not very good w emotion & can be competitive/judgmental. or at least it’s hard for me to be vulnerable in front of them #and I’m part of that crowd so I reserve my emotions only to a handful of very close friends #it’s nice to hop on here and express negative emotions!! or positive emotions!! just whatever I want and it’s low stress and people get me #I don’t have to worry about judgment or competitiveness etc etc #like everyone on here is so kind & nice & understanding. & just a breath of fresh air from the types I run w. it’s just nice to have this #so idk that’s why I think I’ll always be strict about keeping the worlds separate. it just works #p

I’ve seen people in the notes of my shark polls occasionally apologise for being so basic with their favourite sharks (or at least their fave out of the list), most commonly with the whale shark and the great white shark. I’m here to tell you, don’t feel bad in the slightest!! There is a reason you love this shark so much, isn’t there? Whale shark is quite literally the biggest fish at an awe-inspiring 12 meters, it’s one of the only filter feeding sharks, it swims with a slow, dignified grace, it is a long-living gentle giant, it has the silliest adorable face and it has a beautiful blue or dark grey back full of stars! And the great white shark! A gorgeous shark, a testament to the success of sharks, an efficient predator of great strength yet it is still capable of gentleness, a mighty animal that observes the world with calmness — not to mention their cute spyhops! Two noble animals, why on earth should you feel bad for liking them so much!?

Of course saying this, I don’t mean to say that every other shark sucks or something lol. I could think of nice things like that to say about any shark! It would just take a while, given that there are over 500 sharks, so only saying nice things about two is easier. They all deserve love! I just want to say that liking “basic” things is fine and fun. Sharks are never “basic” anyway!

The thing about assigned sex labels (AFAB/AMAB) is that a lot of its usefulness comes from discussions around medicine (though there are still issues with this). In a social sense, AFAB/AMAB isn't very useful to describe peoples' lived experience.

Assigned sex happens to people as babies, and "AFAB" and "AMAB" describe very broadly sex categories. Assigned sex acknowledges past assignment, not current reality with regards to one's sex and/or gender.

I find that when people try to apply sex assignment to social settings (e.g., "all AFABs experience this!"), it comes very close not only to misgendering, but also to sex essentialism in many cases.

I simply think there are too many assumptions made about what every person AMAB has (such as a certain body, a certain gender, and certain lived experiences) and what every person AFAB has. We cannot make sweeping generalizations about people, and I think a lot of people seem to forget this especially with regards to transition and/or "rare" sexes.

one of my favorite things about zhongli is that he doesn’t shut up like i know we like to compare him to neuvillette and alhaitham but zhongli is like inverse of their signature traits. social awkwardness? quiet and reserved? zhongli does not care he will talk like he understands liyue’s social customs very well he just does what he wants. like yeah he’s calm and reserved but he’s not quiet and he enjoys socializing with humans like it’s one of his favorite things to do. the people of liyue describe as someone who is a little odd but very helpful and knowledgeable so he understands people and he seems pretty good at reading their intentions and behaviors so yeah he’s weird but he’s very popular cause he’s always doing shit
