I LOVE HIM

His episode “Turning the tide” is easily one of my favorites, his introduction is AMAZING like fr it was literally a fucking megabot getting out from beneath the water to rescue a rescue bot??? 10/10 entrance

I MEAN JUST LOOK AT HIM HDHDHDH

Ngl at first I thought he’s a titan before his actual reveal hdhdhhd

His designs, and i mean bot, megabot and alt mode are BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVE ALL OF THEM DEARLY

All that aside, what i love most about him is his personality, like I already have a soft spot for grumpy characters *cough* HW, Ratchat *cough* and he is one of them grumpy beautiful characters, but i think the appeal of his character is enhanced by everything else, like the way he talks sailor style, the fact he’s besties with OP which is pretty interesting and he LITERALLY HAS HIS HELPER BOT SERVO WHICH IS SO ADORABLE

I also find it interesting how he’s so adamant about not changing his ways at the beginning, he’s very resistant to change and that can be for a lot of reasons, but Hightide does give me the vibes of something who witnessed partners and soldiers fall when he was helpless to protect them, he’s the classic case of veteran who’s very strict and harsh but cause he cares deeply

Hightide kinda reminds of tfp Magnus, struggles with adaptation and change, but will do so if it means it’s what’s best for the team he’s on, which we see clearly at the end of his episode, he just needed that extra nudge, an extra perspective in which he sees how that change is positive

I absolutely love his interactions with Heatwave, cause both of them are as grumpy as one can get and neither is up for the other’s bullshit which is hilarious, I do love how they both are really similar in so many ways yet can’t get along for the life of them hdhdhdh

And just like HW, he’s an amazing guy once you get to actually know him beneath all that grumpiness hahaha

What i find even funnier is the fact he’s absolutely up for partying and such, the scene with him literally jumping only to go “Canon ball!!“ in the spirit of All Spark day is everything to me dhhdhd

And can I talk about how much I ADORE the nicknames he uses for everyone?? Comedy gold I could listen to him talk for days

I think Hightide is genuinely a great character, and I’m kinda sad he wasn’t very present in the show, and so far from what i know, no other appearances in other shows which is a bummer, I’d love to see more of him cause from my contact of TF media Hightide is the very first character I’ve seen that’s water based, which makes him unique in my eyes and i think the franchise could use him more

Few thoughts on the Akari Phione AU

- Absolutely love it so incredibly much, feels like a classic "filler" cartoon episode down to both the tropes and the more lighthearted self contained vibe. Favorite kinda thing ever 💖

- Ingo worrying about Akari while she's trying to get his attention is both so sad but so hilarious simultaneously. We all know how devastated Ingo would be if something grave happened to Akari and Ingo didn't even know, and worrying/protective sorta "soft" angst bits like that is one of my biggest trope weaknesses. But also with Akari still right there still being Akari (to the best of her limited ability) makes it much more lighthearted and hilarious.

To loosely quote an old Game Grumps bit, just little Phione Akari shouting and stomping at Ingo all irritated trying to tell Ingo she's Akari, meanwhile Ingo just goes "quiet down I'm trying to find Akari!" (Shockingly, it doesn't help her quiet down lmao)

- Akari Phione squeaking is the same sound as that viral desert rainfrog clip. Specifically... a "very angry" rainfrog 😭💙

THANK YOU FRIEND!! This is a very trope-y AU haha, it’s intended to feel like filler. Very simple premise that is self-contained to the issue!!

And yes! I’m still not quite sure what gets Ingo to finally understand that it’s her; without her pokedex, she can’t write anything. She can’t speak human language anymore either. Ingo would see her mannerisms and be reminded of Akari, but he’d only realize how obvious that was in hindsight once he finds out.

THAT GAME GRUMPS QUOTE IS PERFECT. Akari is getting frustrated! To be fair, Ingo is preoccupied with trying to find Akari at the last place she said she’d be - the coastlands. While Akari is touched by how worried Ingo is, and how much effort he’s putting in to look for her, she can’t help but be a little irritated - she’s RIGHT HERE!

It might take a day or two for things to finally click!

AND YES! THE SQUEAKING FROG! She would sound like this haha, you’re right!!

Oh boy. Jwjwjdj

Okay so it starts off with a demon summoning. You know, as you do.

A depressed trans guy in his 20s with agoraphobic tendencies finds a summoning ritual for a demon who "makes contracts of satisfaction" and the dudes like. "Huh, it's been years since my clinical depression has let me feel satisfied about anything. Maybe I'll try that?" And he does the ritual. Bing bang boom, it works and now there's a demon in his livingroom signing the contract.

Except the demon is like. An incubus. And by "satisfaction" they meant ORGASMS and shit. Kind of a mislabel. And the sneaky bastard put "this document is immutably binding until we conceive the fruits of our labor" in the contract, because he was going to try to use this to get some cool demon children.

PLOT TWIST: the trans guy is post-op and has no reproductive capabilities. So, effectively, it is impossible to fulfill the contract.

But the demon is completely unbothered by this, treating the sad human man as though they've known each other for years, and seems oddly excited about this development, not even blinking before he opts to take on a human appearance and move in with the wet paper bag of a man to act as his "lawful consort". Defaulting to calling him "sweetheart" and "doll" while making casual conversation about how much mashed potatoes have changed since the last time he was in the mortal realm.

Human: *internal screaming*

Demon: So, I should have a human name, right? So I can meet all your human friends and family? Is Bob too generic? Or maybe Lucien, that would be fucking hilarious...

So now this work-from-home wet cat who's clocked 10,000 hours into Skyrim is stuck with a surprise room mate (and they were room mates!) who views kinky sex as a friendly bonding exercise between bros (it's not gay to kiss the homies good night!) in a one bedroom apartment (there was only one bedñ).

~perspective change as the human lays in bed trying to sleep off his emotional exhaustion~

It turns out that the demon does know our protagonist, and they were lovers in several of the human's previous lives. The human doesn't remember this, but the demon does, and now wants to use this opportunity to get the human to fall in love with him again and this time choose to go to hell with him. Because the human has never once chosen to follow him into hell, no matter how deeply in love they were, and for the life of him he can't figure out why.

Demon: if I didn't know any better, my darling, I'd think you were trying to torture me... I know not who made your soul, but I curse and thank them in equal measure. This time, I will not fail. I'll save your soul by damning you to my own palace of hell, and then you need never suffer again. I will turn you into a prince, just as you have turned me into a kind and caring man... For you. And only for you.

Human: honk shoe honk shoe mimimimimimi

So, I have to put this thought out before my muse for Gigolas got engulfed by my renewed passion for Transformers (Damn you ROTB).

If you guys still remember the cringe-fail Legolas post by galadrielspeaks from the link above along with a lovely and hilarious art from peapappa, that's great, because I'm tempting to remove the cringe from one scene and add more sadness and angst (Please don't kill me, I was very un-normal about the whole thing).

So the part where Legolas looked at a fallen branch and cried over it, which for many people, is very cringe and funny. And what if he decided to bury that fallen branches, and even leaves? This would have been even more ridiculous and hilarious for both elves, dwarves and everyone else to see Legolas being so silly and sentimental over some branches and leaves. Except for Gimli, the one with a poet's heart, understood Legolas's pain and grievance over those branches and leaves and even Gimli himself began to feel melancholic them, as those fallen leaves and branches reflected his limited time with Legolas.

So, how would this scene happen and how would the act of burying the leaves become "Sad"?

Let imagine that both and Legolas and Gimli were traveling together to visit their homes (either Erebor and Eryn Lasgalen) during Fall season. At one point of their trip, Legolas and Gimli stopped for a break and Leggy, a wandering soul he was, took a stroll into a nearby forest where the all the leaves dressed themselves in brightful red and orange color that glittered under the ray of sun . Leggy was absolutely cheery and enamored at the scenery, as the reddish leaves reminded him of Gimli's fiery hair. Until a strong gust of wind brushed through the trees and caused the leaves/branches to fall down, Legolas immediately their impending doom that both Legolas and Gimli would forever separate by death. Realizing his happiest time with Gimli was too short for his enternal life, he started weeping at the branches/leaves on the ground. Then he started to collect and caress the leaves/branches, then put them in a pouch before finding a place to bury those leaves/branches as his usual ritual whenever he felt sentimental about those leaves/branches. Up to this point, he still didn't understand why he kept doing this and almost everyone found his act of burying leaves ridiculous and childish, but he didn't care as this act comforted him. Still, Legolas hoped that Gimli didn't catch his silly act and laugh at his antic. Unfortunately for Legolas, Gimli had been witnessing the whole thing and Legolas expected Gimli to crack some jokes. Instead, Gimli just stood still and seemed to be in deep thought, and then, he started to pick up the leaves on the ground and gave them to Legolas to put in the pouch. Once they were both collect enough leaves, they found a plot of land to bury the leaves. Once they were done, Legolas was about to ask Gimli why didn't he laugh at his weird act like everyone else, only for Gimli telling him: "While leaves will always return to this land very Spring and turn to red every Fall, these leaves in their final rest will never be the same as the ones have yet to come. Perhaps this silly act of you is simply a way for you to savour your happiest moments and safeguard them from getting tained by time" (I wish I can word this better, oh well, I may rewrite this in another time). Of course, Legolas both burst out laughing and crying at the same time and hugged Gimli tightly, while he was still plagued by the thought of losing Gimli, at least Gimli's words gave him some comforts for the impending doom he will have to face in the future. For every happiest moment all comes to an end like every fallen leaf in their most brightest colors of the Fall. May these moments retain their blitheness under the endurance of time.

(I guess fate had me stumbled on this woeful song (Song of Burial based on the poem of Flower Burial from the novel "Dream of the Red Chamber" by Cao Xueqin, which prompted me to find the lyrics of this song (And make me obsessively listen to it everyday). And this song is the inspiration for this whole mess right here, so you check both the peom and song. Of course this headcanon is nowhere near tragic as the poem and song)

How I feel about this character: the best gremlin princess who deserves the world <3 Love her character, adore her design and aesthetic - I want to squish her like a stress toy, she's so cute and fun and cool and OP it's unbearable sometimes! 😔

All the people I ship romantically with this character: nggh i'm so boring when it comes to this stuff, but i only ship her with Hordak, do not care for other ships *shrugs*

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I'll say Entrapta and Kadroh, aka her future brother in law^^ Love their dynamic!

Oh and I also like the potential of Entrapta and Adora as a duo - honestly I wish they could interact more in canon! Adora was among the few who was always nice to her and never did her wrong, seeing Entrapta as a person rather than just a useful tool. Plus sometimes they give off such simillar vibes and they can be hilarious when together, I can totally see them becoming much closer friends post season 5!

My unpopular opinion about this character: I'm not a big fan of Entrapta's relationship/friendship with Darla and several jokes in s5 about her wanting to fuck a robot. Personally, it does make me a tiny bit uncomfortable, but my main complaint is not about that. What I'm trying to say is that it's season 5, the final season, and yet Entrapta is still more eager to interact and spend time with robots and anchient ALs than real people. There are Entrapta's supposed friends on the ship with her, and yet Entrapta spends most of the time with Darla or around new tech she found. I get that she's always excited about tech, but Entrapta went through an entire character arc about friendship and learned a lot about relationships and people, she literally wanted to find new friends who are not robots?? And yet in the final season it still doesn't feel like she's friends with anyone from the main cast. On one hand there are the princesses, their bulling and ableism, and on the other there's the best friends squad in which Entrapta was never included despite all the time she spent with them - and for the most part it felt like Entrapta wasn't actually with them, that she's all by herself on her own mission, just a crewmember and not a part of the team. She spends the whole season around people she's not really closed to and they never become closer even after their many adventures together. It makes Entrapta's interest in Darla even more understandable, but also sad. It lowkey feels like a character regression to me, but it's just my opinion.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: ooh i wish so many things had happened in canon. Like an actual scene of Entrapta finding the luvd crystal, or her reunion with Scorpia and Emily (and Imp!), or her still having some conflicting feelings towards Hordak - since she was feeling conficted back on Beast Island and there was no one who could tell her that Hordak was lied to and didn't know about her exile

But what would I want to see the most is Entrapta actually being allowed to be angry at Catra for what she did to her. Yes Entrapta forgives her, it's fine it's her choice, but at least let her be upset!! Let her being sent to die not be treated like a joke/just an inconvenience and sidelined by more Catra angst. That scene where Catra and Entrapta finally meet and Catra apologizes to her was once again about her own feelings only and never about Entrapta's. Even though Beast Island was this huge traumatic experience for her! She was willing to die there, give in to the signal because she felt like she was the problem and all her relationships failed because of her EVEN THOUGH she was literally betrayed by Catra and left behind yet again and gfphifphpg

I'm ranting at this point so I'll shut up now. In short, yeah, would be nice if Entrapta was allowed to feel upset, even if just for a moment

my cross over ship: do not have one!

a headcanon fact: she bites and she bites HARD. Entrapta has many chewing toys/medallions but they usually don't last long. On rare occasions when she feels an urge to bite (usually when she's stressed/annoyed or in a deep thinking process) and her hands are unprotected she might bite her own palm and fingers. But nowdays her favorite target is Hordak)) No matter if she's excited or angry or anxious or bored - if Hordak is at arm's lenght from her Entrapta will gently nom on his ears, arms, shoulders or thighs. Hordak doesn't feel any pain or serious discomfort, but getting used to it was not easy, cause sometimes Entrapta warns him and sometimes it happenes unexpectedly :p

Give me a 5 sentence Snake/Otacon AU where one is an cryptid please!

"Wait, I can explain."

Snake winces at the throaty growl of his voice - it's been a while since he's talked to anyone other than his dogs - but then tries to school his features into a harmless, open expression and suppresses the urge to reach out to the man in front of him.

The man takes a step back anyway - so much for appearing friendly.

Mentally, Snake is already compiling lists of things to pack, how quickly he can get his dogs settled and harnessed and he absolutely refuses to get distracted by the familiar weight of sadness creeping in at the thought of losing even this last connection to humanity - his email friendship with a man who was never supposed to find him in the middle of Alaska.

But then Otacon smiles and it's not a nervous smile or even a sympathetic smile, it's a smile full of enthusiasm and awe that only gets brighter when he reaches up and wipes the mist off his glasses, pushing them back up the slippery slope of his nose and takes in all of Snake.

"This is the best thing that's ever happened to me!"

Thank you, hunny!! God it's been a while since I wrote these two disasters. I couldn't decide what kind of cryptid Snake would be so I'm leaving that up to you. I hope you like this (even though it's six sentences ... shhhhh)

Please be more careful about accidentally stealing tags, especially on reblogging original art posts!

I know tumblr is a trashfire and there's issues with the app and accidental tag stealing. I operate on a 'good faith' interpretation system. But while copied tags are vaguely weird when it's 'normal' tags, annoying when it's very personal tags, hilarious when it's a personal tagging system suddenly appearing on a different blog, it's just plain wrong when you reblog original art from the op and tags like 'my art' or 'I drew a thing' are copied over!

Sure, every dolt with half a brain will probably be able to figure out it wasn't your original art if you reblogged it but as we all know, this site unfortunately has too many dolts with less brain than that.

(edit: I've been informed that the iOS glitch means you can't see if the tags get copied before you hit reblog, which sucks majorly. But if you use that app, maybe just form a habit of checking your blog every now and then to see if anything got copied over you didn't want to get copied or give blanket permission to people to point those posts out for you)

So.

Please be vigilant to NOT EVER copy tags like 'my art,' 'my writing' etc.

My #1 post of 2022

It's worth it sometimes, you guys. I just got a comment on a five year old fic and I'm ready to cry:

"i thought of this fic again and had to come back and leave a comment on how impactful it has been to me. [...]"

This was not a person who had commented on this fic before. So, to me, this was a new reader but their comment makes it clear that they didn't just read the story and liked it but that they've read it before and it stayed with them. Which is really the highest praise I can think of.

So for anyone thinking about deleting a fic or orphaning it: don't. You take your chance away of getting a comment like this at some point down the road.

finished Golden Wildfire route

off-the-cuff thoughts:

* when someone told me Claude kills Rhea in this route, my first reaction was, “that’s fascinating.” indeed, that was the “push” that got me to try the game out. like, while Claude-as-presented-in-Three-Houses doesn’t really have much against Rhea (though he’ll approve if you speculate on her death), and Claude-at-end-of-Verdant-Wind certainly doesn’t begrudge Rhea (hearing her whole backstory is super sad!)... i’ve always thought you’d only have to push the pieces around a bit to, say, set up a situation where Claude letting Rhea die is convenient, or you could get Claude more fussed about the church earlier on, etc, and it was fascinating to me that Three Hopes was willing to actually go there with a darker take on the golden boy.

* ...unfortunately they didn’t actually set it up as Claude making a cunning play, lol, instead we are just very determined to kill Rhea because of Reasons TM. in general, this route seemed to want you to take it on faith that the Central Church is not only evil but punish-by-death-able, which puts it somewhere between “Saturday morning cartoon villainland” and “tonally bizarre”

* lots of fun ideas that they didn’t really follow through with. Claude and Edelgard using each other is rad, but we never actually see Claude get anything out of their alliance. (having Edelgard in your “debt” because you saved her one time means nothing if you don’t have leverage, dude!) Claude actually fucking up something once in his goddamn life is cool, except the whole Randolph thing was 100% a nothingburger to me, it’s called tactics and Claude was looking out for his own interests, why was everyone giving him so much shit about it, lol

* mostly this game’s story was a bundle of very interesting ideas with shit execution. which, uh, is not a bad description of Three Houses, actually, but here they’re bungled it in totally different ways which is kind of hilarious

* i’m still very lmao at Fire Emblem’s general royalist streak. “democracy annoying, replace with king” and then we just never really revisit that thread again huh

* Dimitri deliberately using Claude to get rid of Rhea is one of the few actually-fascinating political machinations going on (Dimitri! of all people! there’s hope for the boy yet!), but it happens mostly offscreen so waaaah

* shez >>>>>>> byleth

* i’m kind of glad i wound up killing byleth, if only because two more chapters sounds kind of insufferable; the route was already feeling kind of overlong (i was so OP i was just cruisin’ through battles near the end), and you tell me the other route has more? dear god

* though at least all the animations were fly as hell. near the end i was just swapping around characters to see how fucking cool they’d look on the battlefield (claude is coolest/flashiest by far, and also i got a soft spot for the bow knights in the house; watchin’ ashe’s horse fuckin do ballet while i was steamrolling enemies ruled)

* though i never quite got the hang of using mages? i, uh, think i had a bad habit of just diving into hordes and taking the damage rather than “dodging” or “blocking” or “using a strategy” so maybe that’s why

* i was also super amused at how many of the paralogues were just blatantly filling in backstory that they decided to skip over in Three Houses. can’t tell if they’re stuffing in stuff they always wanted to include, or if this is just padding stuff out, but hey now we know how Claude’s uncle died ig

* damn balthus is so good. loved his supports. why have i been sleeping on this himbo i need to write some more ashen wolves fic haigelhagil;e

* also: all of hilda’s supports are so gay. good for her

* liked the bit where claude had to murder his brother, but damn could they have given him a less cartoonishly arrogant/moronic brother... did they even BOTHER to consider consulting my headcanons for his fam... smh

* does anyone play this game without playing Three Houses first? they must be so confused rn poor dudes

* oh right, the lil animation that Yuri gets when he’s performing his ult or whatever? and he shouts “BOW BEFORE ME”? fuckin 12-year-old-kid-winning-at-Mortal-Kombat energy, right there, i fuckin cackled, what a charmingly dweeby one-liner

You know what would be great? A clone series. No not the clone wars. Something different. I'm thinking about something with the small moments in between fighting where they would all get to relax for a while. I'm thinking about the clones going out to the 79s to celebrate a victory and maybe getting a little too drunk and doing karaoke and coming back late at night with genuine smiles. The little moments where they would spar or talk or maybe even gossip. The clones chilling in the barracks and playing games that the generals taught them and losing sometimes and not caring because nothing is at stake right then. The clones painting their armor and getting tattoos to memorialize their fallen and remember special moments. The clones laughing and not worrying about the war. The clones out at night on the rare occasion they get leave and looking at the stars and just existing. The clones just being people and finding out what it means to exist even throughout the war. Finding out who they are and being there for one another. Just a show about the clones.

If you’re a Scarlet Macaw, Blue-and-Yellow Macaw, or Chestnut-Fronted Macaw, then you have black lines on your cheeks and heavy black lines around your eyes (think Hawks from bnha but less pointy)

If you are a Hyacinth Macaw, you have yellow markings around your eyes and mouth

If you’re a cockatiel, you have a killer mohawk/hair that is always very pointy and orange circles on your cheeks (how cute!)

It bums you out to hear people say things like that behind your back when they think you can’t hear, but you try to not let them get to you

You give the best cuddles and are very affectionate with the people you’re close to (you’re also very cautious of strangers)

You’re also very in tune with the emotions of the people around you

You see someone sad? Head nuzzles and wing hugs

You see someone angry? You deescalate the situation the best you can and make sure they’re ok afterwards

You can dilate and contract your pupils rapidly at will

You may or may not stare at people doing it until they notice you staring or until they get creeped out

You fuck hard with any type of seed, nut, or fruit

When you get excited, it’s literally so cute??

Like you do everything parrots do

Little happy pitter patters with your feet, flutter your wings, your pupils contract and dilate rapidly, you make a ton of mob sounds

You’re easily excitable, hyper, and happy most of the time

It makes everyone happy to see you so excited so they would often go out of their way to get you things that make you happy

“Hey (y/n) I have some extra melon seeds if you want em!”

Like everyone knows where you are at all times

If you’re quiet and they know you’re around, either something is very wrong or they’re about to get pranked

God forbid you start to scream, your scream is loud enough to deafen someone for a brief amount of time and would leave everyone’s ears ringing for days on end

The mere mention of yours and Tommy's names together in one sentence is enough to give Philza a headache (someone give this poor man a couple of advils and a long vacation)

You two are literal demons when you’re together

Very chaotic relationship

You both like to fuck with people by sneaking up behind them

You would make mob sounds and Tommy would jump them before you two made a break for it

You and Tommy almost got killed by Techno a few times, but in your opinion the look on his face was 100% worth it every time

He could relate to being stereotyped as the stupid loud one, so he recognizes right away when you’re sad about it and will try to cheer you up

His main go to is the jukebox

Oh my god if he plays his jukebox around you, you go full send with your dancing

He would laugh at your awful dancing, but he would join you eventually

Cat and Mellohi go hard

Speaking of music, Wilbur uses you as a walking soundboard

He needs a sound sample? You better prepare for spending most of your day recreating the sound

He needs back up vocals? You spend most of your day listening to his voice and other singers so you could replicate it

You don’t want to disappoint him so you try extra hard to appease his picky music composition

You kinda stress yourself out over it sometimes

When he notices (which he will, he’s very perceptive), he immediately calls it a day and has some sibling bonding time

You both bond over liking to eat strange things

Amazon macaws like to lick clay deposits on riverbanks so you like to have some on you at all times to lick when you get stressed

Wilbur carries some in a bag in his pocket and you carry a bag of sand

Whenever one of you notices the other has a rough day, you give each other your respective stuff

You have to be sneaky with it though, Philza always takes away nonedible stuff from his children if he sees them trying to eat it (he has good intentions tho)

It always looks like a drug deal

With Techno, I feel like he would find you incredibly annoying at first with how loud you are

He would actually start to hate you when you started to sneak up behind him

It got to the point to whenever he would hear your voice he would get irrationally mad and have to leave the house for a few hours

He, like everyone outside your family, would think you were useless and incredibly stupid

That was until he passed Tommy’s room one day and overheard you crying and telling Tommy about your insecurities

He would spend the next few days ignoring you bc he felt bad

He would spend those days contemplating on why he treated you like he did

Coming to the realization that you were likely trying to get closer to him and you were just being yourself, making him feel like the biggest piece of shit

He totally had no idea how to confront you about this, so naturally he went to Philza (that man was literally so happy that his children were gonna start to get along)

He would spend the day gathering golden melons because he found out that you’d never tried golden melons before from Philza

When he approached you one day with an apology and some golden melons, you were suspicious at first

He hated you, so why would he get you these things if he didn’t need anything from you?

Quickly finding that his apology is genuine and he felt incredibly bad for treating you like that over the years

You picked up on his guilt pretty quickly and made quick work to reassure him

He would take you on short trips and would soon find that you’re very useful in detecting mobs and deterring creepers with cat noises

He would never admit it, but he loves it when you would scare Tommy or Wilbur, thinking it’s hilarious

You also found out that carrying a seven and a half foot tall piglin hybrid was incredibly difficult to do, especially when flying

You two managed to get only about ten feet above the ground before your wings gave out under the strain and you fell on him

“(Y/n) has earned the achievement ‘When Pigs Fly’” flashed on everyone’s comm tablets that day

That wasn’t fun trying to explain to Philza

Philza would be ecstatic to have someone to fly with that he didn’t have to carry

He would take you on flights when you had too much energy

Sometimes racing each other and competing to do tricks midair (which sometimes you both rope your brothers into judging)

Late night flights when you need to get your mind off from something

Watching the sunrise together in silence for once

Bonding over being able to see ultraviolet light when everyone else couldn’t

You always give him the shiny things you come across and he gives you your favorite snacks

He always fusses over your wings, sometimes preening them for you

Helping each other through molts

Matches your excitement sometimes when you’re really happy

You feel bad whenever you hear stories of how difficult you were as a baby

He’s quick to reassure you that raising you was worth it and you turned out to be a great person

But he wouldn’t be lying when he said you were a difficult infant

Your terrible twos stage? His literal hell

Philza swears he can still hear ringing from whenever you would throw tantrums as a toddler, even years after you left your toddler age

He also still has some scars from when you went through your biting phase (teething was awful for you, his poor baby)

But he’s happy he was the one that raised you, he genuinely enjoys your presence

If you’re in a really affectionate mood he is more than willing to let you cuddle up to him while he reads a book or something

WING HUGS WING HUGS WING HUGS WIN-

When he’s had a long day and is stressed out, you immediately pick up on that and do everything in your power to make sure your brothers are quiet and behaved, try to find out what made him so stressed, and sometimes go out of your way to take care of it for him

You try to be the one taking care of him for once as much because he’s taken care of you so well throughout the years

He can tell if you’re overwhelmed or upset just with one glance at your ruffled feathers and your rapidly dilating and contracting pupils

Immediately pulling you out of the situation and letting you talk it out

Whenever he finds you sad about your insecurities, he points out every part of your personality that he loves

That’s before he hunts down the person that made you feel like this (he really lives up to his title of ‘The Angel of Death’)

Overall, you wouldn’t trade your family for the world

Oh boy don't get me started on the reaction to 13. Her announcement singlehandedly showed just how toxic this community is at times and i came this 👌 close to leaving for good because of it. People in this fandom not being able to accept queer identities is nothing new sadly, but that was just downright disgusting. Anyway the new characters can have my entire heart and i want to shove 'fisto in a locker 💖

Honestly I think all fandoms have really toxic parts and unfortunately it's up to each individual to avoid those parts and usually I'm really good at it (liberal use of the blocking feature) but the whole Thirteen reaction felt like it came outta nowhere?? I mean I expected some backlash but not like that (maybe I'm just naive) but from what I saw the most of it was on Facebook & Instagram while the majority on tumblr just seemed happy they were getting a wife

Okay okay so this is both extremely hilarious and extremely sad and kind of related to what you said about discourse making you nearly leave the fandom and I need to talk about this! It's been nearly two years and other than mentioning it once in my other OM! blog I never really spoke about it and holy shit was it insane

So when I first came into the obey me fandom in 2020 I immediately noped out and took 2-3 months to come back and even then it's because I wrote my first fic and wanted to post the link

Because the first thing I came across in the fandom were (granted a fairly small number of) people saying that Mammon was white😐💀

No listen yes this is as ridiculous as it sounds listen

They were insisting that in S1 when Mammon was described as "tan" the devs meant like tanned and not yknow the colour tan

Tanned.

Yes, tanned as in:

either sun tanned in a world with no sun

or in a tanning machine in a world where they didn't know what a roomba or ice cream maker or hell even an ice cream van was.

(that's the hilarious part^)

Sure there's tanning spray but a spray tan that dark is never going to look realistic

Not to mention how fucked up it would have been if he was a fair skinned character with a tan that dark.

Anyway he was tanned. Definitely not the colour tan:

Y'know the colour tan that brown people who are neither fair skinned nor dark skinned use as a middle ground to describe their skin tone

So I told op, in their replies, something like:

I'm Asian and I'm brown, my family's brown and I've lived in a brown country for almost my entire life. Being "brown" means your skin tone varies a lot from being really fair to really dark. And people who fall somewhere in the middle usually call their skin tone 'tan' in English because it's easy

They pretty much said I was completely wrong and that I just didn't want to admit it or something (It was 2 yrs ago so I can't remember what they said properly but that was the gist of it)

I don't think I replied after that but I saw a couple more of their posts about it and they even came and said so on someone else's post about a similar topic

And it's wild, just absolutely bonkers to me that to some people having a character who is blatantly doing brown/black face is better than having an actual dark skin character like??????

So yeah that was my introduction to the om fandom

I'm really happy I came back though, despite the small hiccups y'all have been my favourite fandom so far and there are so many amazing creators in it and I've met some really cool people because of it and I love coming here and getting to just ramble about everything❤

rating fandom affection terms for characters because i have nothing better to do

favorite character-simple, straight forward, not bad at all, but it lacks spice and a true demonstration of love, 8/10 gets the job done

problematic favorite-a great term, once again straight forward but in this case about the guy in question being acknowledged as a stinky rascal, 10/10

cinnamon roll-its ok, i was never into it bc idc for those types of characters, suffered a sad fate of eventually becoming a term associated with diminishing characters into just their "cute and pure" traits, 2/10 bc i remember it getting really annoying after a while, it being from old fandom times society wants to forget doesnt help its case

smol bean-same feelings as above, but suffered a more tragic fate that its downfall was caused by 30 years old adults attempting to call themselves smol beans, 1/10 i use smol every once in a blue moon

tol-i honestly dont think this was ever put in proper use, it was created to match smol but taller people (in fandom height standards thats anyone above 5'0) do not give off the vibes fandom people need to want to infantalize them, 5/10 for sounding a bit funny

waifu/husbando-i think someone using those to refer to any character at all should be a red flag, 1/10 someone can get more 4 points if their favorite is of age to be called that

best girl/best boy-can be a red flag but can also be used as a term for "whos your favorite from *gender*?" so it gets a mild pass, 4/10

baby boy (baby)-cute! came from a decently funny meme, 7/10 funny to scream out when youre rotating them in your brain

gay baby-im honestly convinced this wasnt used by a single lgbt+ person outside of like, maybe a gay baby jail joke, 0/10 called me a slur

rat-was funny the first fifty times, 6/10 not horrible but after a while it felt like itd meet the same fate as cinnamon roll

komaeda-i do not know how i feel about this, if its used in a conversation itll either be hilarious or be the worst attempt at making a character summary, ???/10

twink-i keep getting flashbacks to the chubby twink fight in that post about the animal crossing owls everytime i hear it, 6/10 i dont know what it means anymore

sexyman-funny term for us, slur for the characters, im confused if this is even an affection term/10

son/daughter-adorable i love seeing this get used for a character who had family issues, 8/10 just very sweet

poor little meow meow-the specific brand of irony is genius, its like watching a victorian woman throw bread crumbs at a starving orphaned homeless child, 9/10 my friend wanted to kill me for calling lancelot from king arthur my meow meow

skrunkly-meow meow but with a bigger brand of pity, truly like seeing a cat who just got out of a bath and is in misery, 10/10

blorbo-a fine revolutionary term used to fight back against angry ops their posts were getting fandom tags in the fandom app, 20/10 cured my fear of judgement

*any sexual term*-would maybe be a bit funny if you guys used it for men who actually look pretty for once, 2/10 has ironic potential

slut/whore-very funny if used in a couple of men, otherwise its just awkward 3/10

any graphic paragraph of wanting to fix a man through something such as putting them in rice-a great way to show concern but still hint at being able to laugh at them, 10/10 i tried joking about this with a friend outside of tumblr and she acted like i was insane

I truly, genuinely hate when people comment "this didn't happen" or "then everyone clapped" on tumblr posts, like

1) it genuinely doesn't matter if it's fake most of the time. Like who cares if someone tells a fake funny story about their aunt's wedding vows or tricking another kid with magnets when they were small or whatever. Why is it so important to disprove something you weren't there to see??

2) "there are too many details so therefore it's fake". Adding small details, telling mundane stories in a way that's funny is like. Classic comedic storytelling. The details are added because the details are often what makes the story funny. "my daughter stole a woman's pillow once on a bus vacation" wouldn't be a very interesting or funny thing for my dad to tell people when I was a kid, for example, but his slightly hyperbolic, dramatic and detailed version? Hilarious

3) "you can tell it's fake because op said something snarky/made a punchline" sometimes people irl are snarky and make punchlines. Sometimes the punchline is only a punchline because of the way the story is told. It's not that unrealistic

4) "you can tell it's fake because people don't just randomly check up on strangers in coffee shops or whatever after bad things happen" you must live a very sad life if you think no one cares about helping strangers

5) "it's fake because people aren't that clueless about their sexuality irl lmao" I mean I used to share a bed with a girl and hold hands with her and kiss her occasionally and be in love with her and tell her I loved her regularly when I was a teenager while being sure that she couldn't possibly like me Like That and that I wasn't really into girls anyway, and that's not an uncommon experience for wlw to have but sure

6) "schools don't work like that/parents don't call other parents directly/kids aren't allowed to leave school grounds during recess" not everyone is American and schools are different all over the world. The parents at my school usually tried to work out problems with bullying/hurtful comments etc between each other before involving the school. We were allowed to leave school grounds during recess from 7th grade and up

7) "unrealistic because no one is that unhinged" you've clearly never worked in retail

8) "that's simply too wild to have happened" sometimes wild things happen to people and sometimes they're hyperbolic when writing down stories for comedic value. That doesn't mean that it's not true at its core

Literally sometimes weird and funny and frustrating things happen when people go out and interact with other people. I've certainly had interactions that people on tumblr would think are fake. I'm sure most people have! Idk it just bothers me
