I have a tag, "imagine your otp" and it's just vibes really, thinking of the best and worst ways two people can go together. Anyway, last year I was like "I should make little school-style valentines with these" but it was basically after the holiday so. Here we are now a year later.
These are twelve of my favourites (that are also short AND don't need the context of reblogs or other tumblr format to elevate them). I drew a little something to enhance the vibe of each one. I also tried to present a selection of various relationship energies.

DotNW Remake/Remaster - Anime Cutscenes
Annon-Guy: In a DotNW Remake/Remaster, there SHOULD definitely be more Anime Cutscenes throughout the Game. I may list too much, but give me thoughts if the following scenes should be an Anime Cutscene or not. I'll save the idea of cutscene ideas for Alice and Deucs Mode, Marta DLC and Richter DLC for another time.
P.S. This is going off the original game, even if a reworked script and some reworked scenes are involved.

1. I actually think it would be cooler if the Opening was a new animation but you had to unlock it. Perhaps it could be related to the DLC?
2. Blood Purge definitely needs an animated cut scene. There's so much more you can say with animation that could subtly hint to the truth of "Lloyd" and "Emil" that new players wouldn't be able to pick up on but that people who played before or new people could pick up on on the second playthrough. I love really subtle foreshadowing.
3. I want the scene given all the gravitas of a magical girl transformation and I'm not joking. I want overly complicated rotating camera, sparkles, clothes manifesting on his silhouette from nowhere.
4 - 6, 8, 9, 10, 17, 18. I honestly think every initial encounter with a significant cast member should get an animated cutscene. There's a lot more you can do with subtle or exaggerated expression and animation to convey who a character is as opposed to just having models show up, have one of a dozen emotes, and another dozen preset gestures.
7. YES. Again, it's way easier to convey this kind of thing where you can see subtle expression.
9A. It'll split my heart right in half seeing Richter being allowed to have very subtle emotions. I want it so bad.
11. Even juicier if there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment (I'm talking 2 frames at best honestly) where you can just barely see Richter show regret when he stabs Marta. Or a leaf out of Onshuu where you can see a split second relief like in Chapter 10 where Sheena steal's Marta away. Or there could be a complete fakeout with new players where it REALLY looks like Marta got killed.
12. Even though my OTP will always involve Emil being with Richter rather than Marta, I can appreciate a good mushy scene, especially if it fleshes out Marta more and makes her less insufferable.
13. I'm imagining it with the gravitas of Pell's sacrifice in the One Piece movie "The Desert Princess and the Pirates." Where Tenebrae just goes "It's been an honor serving you, Emil. You and Marta take care of each other." and there's just this slow scene of Tenebrae hoisting this massive monster into the air as Marta and Emil reach into the sky after him before this MASSIVE explosion happens. Honestly, if the scene made me cry it could make me care about Tenebrae the same way that scene made me care about Pell. Pell has very little presence in the movie despite the opening scene trying to set up a sort of tenderness between him and Vivi, but the self-talk, the subtle smile right before the end, Pell fully expecting to die. Even though I know he survives by the anime powers of plot armor and the writers having the grace to, er, NOT kill someone in a cartoon bombing so close after 9/11, the scene still makes me cry because, man, unbridled loyalty. I wish they played that up for Tenebrae more than his comic relief snarkyness. Tenebrae is (allegedly) dog-shaped because this is supposed to convey the loyalty we see from him in the bad end and the sacrifice scene. Play that shit up and I'll love him loads more. I'd show you the scene I'm talking about from the One Piece movie, but I think due to copyright reasons it's hard to find. You can watch the full movie on Netflix right now though.
14. The thought of seeing all the intricacies of Richter REALIZING something and seeing it on his face instead of having him hamfist it like "This arte! This timing! So indeed, you ARE Ratatosk!" That slow shift of surprise to understanding to sadness to RAGE as he realizes this kid he's had so much affection for is 100% Ratatosk is just... intense. And how much could be said with Ratatosk's expression?! Rage? Bloodlust? Or the subtle disgust he might have shown when swatting Aster with the same arte like Aster was a fly. Fear, even? We know from the nightmares that Ratatosk has some modicum of fear for the first mortal to ever come close to killing him. Even if Richter isn't particularly strong, Ratatosk sees him as a sort of symbol of his own rare, conditional mortality. Ratatosk realized for the first time, because of Richter, that even with his tree gone, he has something left that he CAN lose, even if it's almost impossible. Whatever the writers and artists choose to portray of Ratatosk in that scene could tell us a lot. Also watching the two of them fight, a wounded and vulnerable god-like being fighting like an animal because he, too, has vulnerabilities, the mortal with nothing left to lose that will stand against unfathomable power for the love of another and a concern, however small, for the world that dead friend loved so dearly? Fucking poetry.
15. Again, getting to compare the two before the big reveal instead of just getting one model that smirks and another model that doesn't would be amazing.
16. Again, Marta's not really involved in the ships I like, but even I can appreciate good mushy character-building content and its importance to the story that the developers wanted to tell. Fully rendered scenes that can be paced out slow and tender would do wonders for all the character development the game misses out on.
19. As undeniably funny as the original scene is with Aster getting ragdolled across that bridge in the 'Gap, yes, YES, 1000% yes. I really want to see this scene with the INTENDED weight to it. Especially if we get to see Richter cry. I've seen other people talk about it, but Richter's actions, good and bad and objectively evil at times, being dictated by LOVE is such an underutilized thing. And maybe Richter crying would hamfist it a bit, but it was done SO well in the Onshuu manga and I really want that carried over into the game in a cutscene because, like. Richter isn't wrong or evil or bad because he LACKS love. The reason he's wrong is because his love is so strong and so painful for him that he CAN'T see the harm he's about to cause until the gravity of it smacks him in the face with an entire city on fire or a girl almost dying by his hand. Obviously I find Richter much more sympathetic than Ratatosk, but the fact remains that both of them have that sort of fatal flaw. Ratatosk loved his tree and the planet so dearly that he was blind to the important role humans and half-elves had in the world, or, barring that, even if he was "objectively" right that humans and half-elves are a net harm in a way elves aren't... He still looked at sentient beings with the capacity to be good and do good and help the world, who loved the planet like he did, and decided "No, these creatures get to die." And seeing them be foils of each other and have love at the center of the narrative in ways that AREN'T the main romance between Emil and Marta is SO, SO good. Because it really sells the whole message that LOVE ISN'T INHERENTLY GOOD AND PURE AND RIGHT. But the intention usually is a good one. And that you have to learn to make your love SELFLESS and not selfish. At least, that's what I think the relationship with Marta and Emil was SUPPOSED to symbolize. If they had continued as they were at the start, their selfish love would have failed just as Ratatosk's and just as Richter's. Their love succeeds because (allegedly) they learn to love selflessly.
20. Probably not intended but I'm fully imagining the Onshuu scene where Richter just... with the deadest eyes and most tired/lonesome expression just examines the core and Tenebrae just "YOINK." And just... comedy to undercut the batshittery and tragedy that just unfolded. But I presume you're thinking more of the conflict between Tenebrae and Aqua and what it says about each of them that this scenario divided them. It's suggested that Tenebrae also thinks what Ratatosk did was wrong, but because he's thinking about the world at large and is also more loyal, he concludes that the best course of action is to basically convince Ratatosk to be better. Meanwhile, Aqua is thinking about the world, but she's also thinking about the people in it, Richter being one. And her loyalty to HIM because he and Aster saved her leads HER to conclude that the people of the world are more important than preserving the life of her master because she views Ratatosk slaying one of her saviors which did irreparable emotional damage to her OTHER savior as a betrayal toward her from Ratatosk and a betrayal to the world. And neither of them are WRONG, really. Aqua is sort of the perspective of restorative justice and Tenebrae is the perspective of rehabilitative justice and both are necessary for the fairest possible world. People who are wronged should have things made right (as much as realistically possible) and people who have done wrong should have a chance to improve.
21. I want to see Ratatosk struggle a moment to figure out how the whole pretending to be human thing works and then bump into poor Lana and just decide in the most traumatizing way possible that he's Emil now and he must suffer the way Emil ought to suffer. Ratatosk literally didn't have to do that. But he did. What a drama king. 10/10, giving your alternate persona immediate trauma to sell your new fake-identity.
22. I haven't played the game in years or seen a playthrough in years so you're going to have to refresh me on this specifically because I keep thinking of the actual final battle and I know you don't mean for that here. But I'm going to preemptively say yes, more Ratatosk/Emil figuring themselves and each other out. I'm assuming this is the hotel scene where Emil talks with Tenebrae?
23. Not gonna reiterate too hard but yes. Not my ideal smooch but if they're gonna sell us a romance, sell us the whole romance and show us the passion! (I'm imagining in my head that Marta's trying to use tongue and Emil just very confused about having the inside of his mouth licked. Not a suggestion of course. I would want it played straight and not for comedy. But my brain cannot take them seriously as a couple. XD Not without an improved final product at least.
24. Not sure how much blood they can show and still get a teen rating, but yes. Alice and Decus deserve to go out in a horrendous blaze of glory. Simultaneous Romeo and Juliet tragedy and also "you two are toxic heinous war criminals and you kind of deserve this." The conflict of emotions. Hell yes.
25. I think this is probably the scene that will benefit most from an animation. Marta's optimism and refusal to say goodbye is cloyingly naive. I think if we can maybe see her subtly holding back tears or something that it would be a massive improvement.
26. Watch Emil commit seppuku in glorious 2D animation? Yes please. Especially if we get some genuine emotion out of Marta for it.
27. For some reason I just have Unus Annus flashbacks of the ticking noise and just an ending shot of Richter's forehead as he turns toward the door at the very end and things fade to black as Ratatosk follows him.
28. As much as the true ending hurts me and my little Richter-centered heart, yes. A nice long heartwarming reunion for Marta and Emil. Richter would want Emil living a life Aster never got. So it better be a beautiful one.
Fully animated and rendered skits would be amazing. With how well DotNW did in Japan, I really REALLY hope it eventually gets an anime. I would pay every red cent I have to see it. What little I got to see of Richter in Rays and other media was NOT ENOUGH. (Even with all the stills we get as card art and cut-in art and event art in other titles, we never get to see Richter's abominable cooking, and despite getting to see Emil and Aster eat, Richter never eats in any official art. Beanpole needs to EAT! (Grandma instincts out here telling me that Richter's not getting nourished, damn it! And I want official confirmation on what he enjoys eating besides herbs!)

Oh, the blood pact scene isn’t in the new movie, it’s in Grindelwald’s crimes. And don’t you dare think for a second that you’re the only one who thinks of Tom and Harry embarrassingly a lot. I mean that’s just offensive. I mentioned Grindelwald and Dumbledore because they’re the closest thing to a Tomarry romance we’re going to have in canon, some Auror in crimes of Grindelwald literally calls Dumbledore “his equal.” And wants him to fight him. Come on! A dark lord and his equal?

Anyways besides them resembling my OTP. I actually loved seeing what Jo would do to this kind of dynamic. You know how she makes it so intense, and strangely intimate whenever a villain interacts with the hero? I genuinely think this is the first time a villain in any of her works is in love with the protagonist. Except for Ralph and Robin, but that’s another can of worms.

Fair. It’s good to know I am far from alone in daydreaming relentlessly about my OTP. 😄 I can only speak from my own writing experience, but I think the reason the relationship between a hero and villain is so particularly fun is because there is history and it’s bad history. It’s messy history. If you look at the top five pairings on AO3 that include Harry, three out of the five are from antagonist canon relationships: drarry, snarry and tomarry. There’s so much that a writer can do! There’s so much twisted, problematic history to build stories from! Ages ago I read a very negative review of the series on goodreads with the main complaint being that the characters are exceptionally mean. And now I’m over here, plotting out numerous fics where a mean character becomes a kinder character by the power of love and I’m thinking, thank god there are so many mean characters. Otherwise, my stories wouldn’t have any room to grow.

Favorite character: Stanley Uris or Richie Tozier
Least favorite character: Patrick Hocksetter, like… I feel that Henry has a driving force behind his actions (abusive asshole dad, etc.) but Patrick is just fucking insane, need I remind you of the animal fridge?
5 Favorite ships: Reddie (duh), whatever the ship name for Bill and Mike and Stan is, Stenbrough, Stozier, and of course Benverly
Character I find most attractive: Beverly Marsh, 100%
Character I would marry: Also Beverly Marsh
Character I would be best friends with: Stanley Uris, he’s witty and snarky and very deadpan so kinda opposite of me, I feel like we would balance each other out in a way
a random thought: Okay so here’s a hc - Mike def has a truck and he drives all the Losers to school, everyone rides up front with him except for Richie and Eddie because they are the most distracting. Stan first found out about Richie and Eddie becoming RichieAndEddie when he looked at the truck bed to supervise them and saw the two extremely close and holding hands. He made eye contact with Richie and could tell he was panicking so he mimed zipping his mouth shut and went back to minding his own business, to show that he doesn’t care. But he does give them pointed looks whenever they’re acting super couple-y.
Unpopular opinion: I actually really like the recent movies, like a whole lot. Sure they aren’t masterpieces, but I find them funny and entertaining.
My Canon OTP: Reddie is practically canon, right?
My Non-Canon OTP: Stanlonbrough (that’s one of the ship names for Bill, Mike, and Stan, I think)
Most badass character: Beverly Marsh. She beat the shit out of her abuser TWICE, so good for her.
Most Epic villain: I guess Pennywise? I hate the clown the least, compared to all the abusers and Bowers Gang.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Any of the Losers with any of the Bowers Gang.
Character I feel the writers screwed up: movie Mike and Stan are just entirely token characters who have been boiled down to their minorities (guess who gets the least screen time out of both movies?).
Favorite friendship: Stozier definitely, the chaotic friend and the very done one, it’s great!
Character I most identify with: Stanley Uris, which I have said before. Just his mental health issues. I keep thinking about that scene in the book where Bill is thinking about the blood pact and remembering how Stan pretended he was going to slit his wrists with the broken glass instead of cut his hand. Just more proof that he is troubled like me.
Character I wish I could be: Beverly Marsh. Need I say more?

OTP ship questions
So... this ship questions list has been making the rounds, and since I’m neck-deep in trying to finish up the story for Sam and Benji, I’ve decided to fill out ALL OF THEM. In one go. I’m extra, sue me.
(under a cut cuz I actually like you people) :P
PRE-RELATIONSHIP
1. How did they first meet?
Sam moved to Wayhaven and into Benji’s apartment complex. They didn’t start talking until Sam was getting mugged while on her run, Benji jumped in to help her, and then she punched him on accident. Benji does like to call it “love at first punch”
2. What was their first impression of each other?
Total heart eyes on both sides. They are both total cuties and they were eyeing each other before they actually started talking. Benji thought Sam was a little withdrawn and grumpy, while Sam thought Benji was really weird for grinning like a maniac all the time.
3. Did any of their friends or family want them to get together?
I mean, Tina was the driving force from the very beginning and super invested in those two idiots getting together. Once it was apparent how cute Sam and Benji were together, the entire damn town wanted them to get/stay together. Sam’s cousin Liz was like “please enjoy yourself with the man”. Hell, even Benji���s ex was happy for them!
4. Who felt romantic feelings first?
Benji. The man wears his heart on his sleeve AND is incapable of holding back. He also has more experience with knowing what such emotions feel like so he can recognize them quicker. He’ll also claim that he fell in love with Sam the moment she punched him, so there’s that.
5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?
Both of them, actually! There’s a time limit on how long Sam will be staying in Wayhaven so both of them knew falling in love was a very bad idea. But they are so well-suited for each other that it was inevitable.
6. If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?
I think there would be an overwhelming “hell yeah!” on both accounts, because of how strongly they feel for each other. Sam would feel a sense of relief, because she grew up hearing stories of how her sperm donor (aka bio dad) just impregnated her mother and left her behind, so knowing Benji would actually stay and love her would be a happy news. Benji would be ecstatic to know Sam is his soulmate and would probably tell everybody who stopped long enough to be told. Deep down, he’d still doubt himself and the knowledge, because he has a long history of abandonment. Even with regular reminders, he’d still be afraid that Sam would decide one day that there had been a mistake and leave.
7. What would their lives be like if they had never met?
Sam would become a bonafide workaholic with a limited number of friends - to Liz’s constant frustration. If she managed to find someone that she liked well enough, she’d probably settle down with them eventually, but maybe not feel a great passion for them. Just a decent, average life in California.
Benji would have gotten together with Felix and have a happy, fulfilled life with him. He’d probably get turned into a vampire at some point, too.
GENERAL
1. Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?
Benji initiated it. Sam rejected the idea of dating at first, but after some cajoling, she agreed to keep going out with him.
2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?
The first date was very casual and not really an official date - they went for dinner at a crab shack. Their second date was a little more dressy, with a dinner and a movie, and they both put in more effort into everything.
3. What was their first kiss like?
Amazing. Sam got a little tipsy and decided to leave a lipstick print on Benji’s neck as a way of “flirting”. Since the man is a slut for neck kisses, he took that as an invitation to have proper kisses and smooched her senseless right there and then. Sam did NOT complain.
4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?
Sam had never had sex with a man before Benji (only had experiences with women), so it was a big deal when it happened. Benji made sure to take it slow and gave her a fantastic first-time experience.
5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?
Sam is 5’10 and Benji is 6’3, so there’s about 5 inches of difference between them. There’s about 2.5 years of difference between them in age.
6. What’s their relationship with each other’s families?
Sam ends up having a decent relationship with Rebecca, after some time. It’s a little difficult to interact with someone who is barely around, but Sam tries to be nice all the same (since it’s important to Benji). She definitely has a much closer relationship with Benji’s found family, Tina and all the older ladies who appointed themselves Benji’s guardians. They all love Sam dearly and the feeling is mutual.
Benji has a fantastic relationship with Liz and her husband/kids. The kids in particular looooove hanging off Benji and using him like a jungle gym. Benji and Liz have this pact of sorts where they would murder a bitch in order to protect Sam from harm - and be each other’s alibi, too. They did start off on a slightly wrong foot, but it got cleared up quickly. That being said, Benji is not fond of Sam’s extended family - they can be challenging.
7. Who takes the lead in social situations?
Benji, always. He’s the resident extrovert and will behave like a shield for when Sam feels overwhelmed with crowds or situations.
8. Who gets jealous easier?
Benji. He rarely acts on the emotion, though. At the beginning of the relationship, he’d just get quiet and in his own head a lot; later on he’d casually bring it to Sam to make sure he has nothing to worry about.
Sam still gets jealous, though it’s not as common. After all, her man is fucking sexy and *of course* women would want to poach him. Gotta stay vigilant.
9. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear?
They are BOTH culprits of that one. Very often those are VERY explicit things, but mostly it’s just passing comments or even just sexy glances. Those two are *into* each other.
LOVE
1. Who said “I love you” first?
Sam, strangely enough. Having your life flash before your eyes sure makes you more willing to take chances with love ;)
2. What are their primary love languages?
Sam

3. Who uses cheesy pick-up lines?
Benji, hands down. He’s a cheeseball.
4. How often do they cuddle/engage in PDA?
As often as they can get away with it. They are both touch starved idiots with a variety of abandonment issues, so being glued to each other is a natural state for them.

Benji, more often than not. He craves that physical reassurance from Sam ALL the time.
6. Who’s the big and little spoon?
Benji will want to be the little spoon as often as he can get away with it. He loves being held and having his hair played with, so settling half of his body into Sam’s lap is literally his favorite thing. That being said, when they sleep, he’s usually the big spoon.
7. What are their favorite things to do together?
Hiking and being active. When Benji was recovering from his stint at the hospital after Murphy, Sam would go with him on hikes to make sure he wasn’t pushing himself too much physically. Then they never stopped. Benji loves going places to photograph Sam for the millionth time. They will also go to the gym together, if their schedules align. They also love doing the couch potato things together: watching movies/Netflix or him playing video games while her feet are draped all over him as she reads her current murder mystery.
8. Who’s better at comforting the other?
Sam might be just a little better at it than Benji, but only because he has shitty impulse control and often will blurt out things he shouldn’t. Sam will generally sit and listen to Benji, cuddle him, pet his hair, etc. Benji will do similar things, but his need to crack jokes about inappropriate things gets him in trouble relatively often.
9. Who’s more protective?
Benji. He would NOT hesitate to murder a person in cold blood to keep Sam safe. It’s not exactly a healthy thing, but we all know the man needs therapy.
10. Do they prefer verbal or physical affection?
Benji is a cuddle monster and would be wrapped around Sam 24/7 if allowed. That being said, since Sam is a little reserved about verbalizing her feelings for him, anytime she says “I love you” first, he feels absolutely ecstatic.
Sam’s family wasn’t a very outwardly affectionate people, so she’s not used to either type of displays? That being said, since Benji is always a walking furnace, she absolutely loves when he gives her cuddles. It’s her favorite thing.

Benji calls Sam “baby” all the time. She usually just calls him Benji, but also occasionally “mi carino” or “my love”. Pretty sure he dies every time she calls him “my love”.

I feel like they’re both pretty good about remembering the little things. Sam is better about remembering significant dates, but that’s because she has a digital calendar and isn’t afraid to use it :P
DOMESTIC LIFE
1. If they get married, who proposes?
Benji is the one who proposes. It happens on a random night while getting ready for bed, while they’re both in the bathroom in their bedclothes. It’s adorable and very them.
2. What’s the wedding like? Who attends?
The wedding would most likely happen in Wayhaven. I can’t imagine either Benji or Sam wanting a huge ceremony, but since they’ve become the town’s favorite lovebirds, it kind of goes out of control. Once some of their supernatural friends get involved, it really goes a little crazy. It ends up happening at a city park so it can fit all of the attendees. Some of Sam’s family flies in from out of town. Tina is Benji’s best “man” and Liz is Sam’s matron of honor. Benji absolutely loses his shit when he sees Sam in the wedding dress walking down the aisle and totally disrupts the ceremony to try to kiss her out of turn. Other than a ridiculous number of people there (seriously, probably at least half of the town shows up), it’s a pretty chill party, with lots of remembrance of Sam’s mom and Benji’s dad. Let’s just say it was a good day :)
3. How many kids do they have, if any? What are they like?
There are a few AUs for these dorks, but in most of those they have two kids: a girl and a boy. Ella is precocious, outgoing, clever, and energetic. Liam is a giant cuddle bug with a gorgeous smile and a big heart, who prefers to tinker with things in a workshop than get involved with his older sister’s shenanigans.
4. Do they have any pets?
They eventually end up with two dogs that they take on their hikes. They only have one dog for the longest time because apartment living isn’t exactly conducive to pet ownership. Once they get a house, they expand their menagerie. There might be a stray cat they sorta adopt, too.
5. Who’s the stricter parent?
Sam, hands down. Benji is a giant pushover for his wife and children, and would let his kids climb all over him, as long as they were happy.
6. Who worries the most?
That really depends on what about. Benji is perpetually worried about keeping his family safe and provided for. Sam has anxiety about a variety of small things and it’s not hard for her to worry about random stuff.
7. Who kills the bugs in the house?
Depends on the bugs. Benji loathes spiders so Sam’s in charge of removing those. Sam absolutely cannot deal with centipedes and roaches, so Benji gets to kill those.
8. How do they celebrate holidays?
When it’s just the two of them, they either go visit one of their friends in town and spend it with them. Once kids arrive, they do holidays at home and tend to go big in the food department. Rebecca is always invited, but it depends on whether she can make it that time or not. They like it when holidays are warm and filled with happiness/laughter.
9. Who’s more likely to convince the other to come back to sleep in the morning?
Benji. If he’s not working that morning, he would not want to leave the bed and would do everything in his power to keep Sam in there.
10. Who’s the better cook?
Sam. Benji isn’t terrible at it, but Sam is so much better that he rarely bothers with it. Also, Sam tends to treat cooking as stress relief (chopping veggies is great anger management), so he lets her do the thing in peace. That being said, if she’s too tired to cook, or it’s been a long day, or the kids are demanding her attention, Benji feels comfortable enough in the kitchen to take over and make dinner.
11. Who likes to dance?
Sam, hands down. Her mom loved to dance so she grew up around it. Unfortunately, Benji has two left feet so she doesn’t have many opportunities to flex those muscles (outside of occasional slow-dancing in the kitchen). She will occasionally drag Tina out for a night of dancing and go to a salsa club. It can really hit the spot.

Grindeldore in canon
It’s really exciting shipping Grindeldore because we are still learning their canon story. My OTP ship is Romione and I already know their story.
But learning new things about Grindeldore is so exciting! Every time I watch that blood pact scene from Crimes of Grindelwald I stop breathing.
It’s an awesome feeling but also sucks that we have to wait so long.

For the character thing: the wonderful Sasha James? As for who answers it, I would like to spin the roulette wheel and have whoever sees this first answer.
Ooooh we love Sasha!!! And I specifically adore Sasha and am determined to write her into as many fics as possible because lowkey writing her character voice is All Hells of fun
Favorite Thing About Them: Her perceptiveness, 100%. It’s one thing to be booksmart or have common sense; it’s an entirely separate thing to be so in tune with your own surroundings that you can tell when something’s off, like how she found out Michael through noticing the differences in his reflection and the like even though on the surface, at first, he’d seemed like a normal dude. Sasha James is Always Looking and analyzing and it’s all wrapped up in an amicable personality and a cute cardigan and I adore that for her!
Least favorite thing about them: Because she dies so early, if you want to read or write anything Sasha related, you have to kind of treat her as an OC. She has an extremely clear character in s1, don’t get me wrong, but at the same time, there are some pretty significant gaps in her characterization that I feel would have been addressed if Tim had been the one to die. Because there are so many ways for people to fill in the blanks that Jonny left, it means that her characterization itself can be inconsistent- I’ve seen takes that expand beautifully upon Sasha’s character and play up her ambitious spirit, sometimes to her detriment, or I’ve even seen takes that don’t expand on her at all and just regard her as an empty filler slot with no presence.
Favorite Line: “A real you. I don’t think so, at least. It’s all just masks.” The poise! The eloquence! It’s a single line from s5 of all places but it tells you so much about Sasha! Her inner world is a rich one, and as someone who struggles with expressing a “true self”, among other identity issues, it’s highly relatable
brOTP: Sasha and Jon. I hadn’t really thought about it until me and my Eye-Eater co-writer were talking about Double Archivists Taking Road Trips and Coaching New Monsters On How To Be Monsters but these two have a fantastic dynamic going on. She’s the darling of the Archives and she and Jon have some cute banter in canon, but it can go Beyond that. They both have a need to know things. They both consider themselves a little cowardly. And it seems like they’d have similar senses of humor! It’s a win-win
OTP: TimSasha, Sasha/Melanie, Sasha/What the Girlfriends, Sasha/Helen, Sasha/Annabelle Cane and of course, Sasha/Julia Montauk. I just think Sasha should be the star of her own romcom
nOTP: I saw Sasha/Elias once and I had such a visceral reaction that I had to lie down for a bit
Random headcanon: She has the most morbid sense of humor in the Archives, which jives really well with Jon. Once she and Jon jokingly made a blood pact in the break room about putting each other in their wills in case Michael picks one of them off so Jon can have her ceramic cat collection and she can have all his couch blankets. Tim is trying to take walking in on it lightheartedly but this is the 3rd time they’ve done it this week and he’s beginning to have Doubts about the insincerity of the pact.
Unpopular Opinion: Sasha was likely equivalent to Jon in most ways, including her penchant to getting herself into danger and getting marked by other entities- and is equally likely to make terrible decisions. Just Because Gertrude Chose Sasha As Her Pick For Head Archivist and Just Because She Was Passed Over Instead Of Jon Does Not Mean She Would Have Ended TMA Early Or Not Fallen Into The Same Traps Jon Had. For one thing, Gertrude wasn’t exactly as competent as she came off (and there was an entire episode about that). For another, it carries the implication that somehow Sasha is immune to being fallible and human and is immune to falling into trauma or despair or struggling futilely, and that just makes me feel weird.
Song I Associate with her: When the Chips Are Down from Hadestown. It’s a funky song even in and of itself but the lyrics just Kill me for Sasha.

Hi! So 02 with Garrus for the ask thing!
Give me a character & I will tell you:
How I feel about this character: AJFKLSDJFKLASJFKLSDAJFLKSADJFLKSA
In all seriousness though and beyond the internal screaming and flailing, I adore him. He was my first BioWare romance. Not Mass Effect. First BioWare one. That tends to stick with you. As a character, I love his balance of personality typing, personal plots, and obvious character flaws. He’s hot headed, a bit arrogant when it comes to something he things he knows better, one of the most loyal and caring people to a fault, and an all around badass. He is the space husbando. The cat raptor extraordinaire. Really though, his character and connection got me through some rough shit, and for that his pixel ass will always have a piece of my heart.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Besides the obvious one, I’d probably go with Liara and Joker. They have such great rapport with him. And I maaaaaaayyy or may not have written a relationship with him and Liara for my fan fic many, many years ago.
My non-romantic OTP for this ship: This is an impossible choice. Wrex??? Imma go with Wrex. It’s obvious and predictable and I don’t care.
My unpopular opinion about this character: Honestly, I didn’t like him in the first game. Thought he was kind of an ass, and not in an endearing way. He’s fine, but if you had told me I’d fall head over heels for him before I’d played the second game, I’d call bullshit. Also I’m not a fan of when they decide “hey this is the side character of the game, bond with them” push they heavily do in Mass Effect in particular. Luckily I like him, but I feel bad for anyone else who didn’t like him or were neutral about his character. Nothing makes me go from eh neutral to dislike than shoving a character down my throat before I’ve come to terms with them.
One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: I’ll sell my kidney to let him retire with Shepard and live out the rest of their lives together. Ok? What kind of blood pact do I need to make?

a headcanon fact: It’s cliché, I know, but I always headcanon Shepard’s ghost haunting him for the two years while they’re dead. That he left them. That his anchor and mentor is now gone and where does that leave him. Just aaaaallll of that leading to the creation of Archangel. All the guilt and shame and martyrdom of not saving Shepard because he left the Normandy.

Anyways, Opinions™ under the cut.
Beau/Jester (OTP): When “oh my god they were roommates” and friends to lovers meet. No other ship can compare y’all, like seriously, Beau and Jester have been there for each other through thick and thin (hugs! compliments! mutual validation!!!) and I am so weak for that shit.
Caleb/Fjord (OTP): I know these guys’ relationship has known its ups and downs, from cagey team dads, to barely allies, to blood pact bearers, to friends- but each of their interactions is fraught with an intensity and meaning that makes me wonder what the heck is happening (also the hands!!). Anyways, Travis/Liam, if they could kiss that would be great.
Jester/Yasha (Good Shit™) : Big Soft and sparkly ray of sunshine is an excellent combo and also my heart breaks every time Jester feels upset over what happened with Yasha.
Nott/Yeza (Good Shit™): This was especially valid early on, when Yeza and Nott first reunited. Now I miss Yeza tbh and I wish he was a little more “present” when the party does visit him.
Beau/Reani (Good Shit™): Reani is a delightful mess and although I can’t quite imagine what an actual relationship between the two would look like, a part of me is sad we’ll never get to see it (this is pretty much exactly how I feel about Beau/Keg too tbh; Beau really has an embarassment of lovers, doesn’t she). Bonus for probably having the best ship name.
Fjord/Caduceus; Fjord/Molly; Jester/Calianna (No problems with this): I have no real opinions on these ships beyond “ah that’s cute” when I see fanart/fanfic for them.
Caleb/Jester (On the fence): While I think I ultimately prefer them as friends, a part of me does feel like they’d be very sweet together- Caleb has always appreciated and supported Jester (when his issues haven’t gotten in the way), and Jester has done much the same for Caleb. There is the potential age difference however, and I wonder if Liam wouldn’t be sort of retreading the dynamic Vax and Keyleth had to an extent with this relationship.
Caleb/Essek (On the fence): I’m not technically opposed to this, but we don’t know Essek well enough at this point and I don’t really like the “I’m just using him” undercurrent that this ship could very possibly be fraught with. Plus Liam has already ditched one charming wizard in the past and I kind of don’t want him to do it again.
Jester/Essek (Crack Ship): I will say, one very fun dynamic is the overly serious one eventually caving to the relentlessly cheerful/jokey one. If Caleb doesn’t get Essek to soften up, I’m sure Jester inevitably will, platonically or otherwise.
Reani/Yasha (Crack Ship): This one just runs on the completely opposite type of Aasimar they are. Plus it’s fun to imagine how they would interact.
Fjord/Avantika (NOTP): Pressured into sleeping with the villain to keep her on your good side so she doesn’t kill you and your friends? Yeah, gonna have to give that one a miss (I do miss Avantika though, she was so cool).
Caleb/Molly (NOTP): While I eventually kinda sorta warmed up to Molly (just in time for his death 8D), I never really warmed up to this ship. At least Fjord and Molly had some sort of cameraderie going, with Caleb and Molly, it just felt like some not-very-romantic moments that were romantically interpreted by fandom (which, to be fair, is a trap almost every shipper inevitably falls into at some point, so no judgment).
Jester/Fjord (NOTP): Oof. Just oof. Jester and Fjord’s dynamic became kinda weird around the pirate arc with Jester’s spiking jealousy and Fjord being a bit of an asshole, and while it’s gotten better since and I have genuinely enjoyed some of their recent interactions, I feel like Fjord never really shows her the amount of emotional care that she shows him. The fact that Travis’ll occasionally throw something in but then not follow up makes this relationship also very inconsistent and Fjord comes across as either oblivious or toying with Jester’s emotions. It’s cute with the Laura and Travis are married context, but in-story it’s just... not great.
