Happy One Year Anniversary!

Hello, my little babies (gaybies, if you will) (I'm so sorry), today is a very exciting day!

Today (well, actually yesterday, unforeseeable circumstances delayed this) marks this blog's one year anniversary! A whole year! It's been an exciting year for me personally, but what a year it's been for all of us together! Regardless of if you're been following this blog for the whole year, we have shared this past year as humans, and it has not been an easy one! Truly, King George in Hamilton was correct when he said 'oceans rise, empires fall, we have seen each other through it all'. Give yourself a pat on the back that you've made it this far!

Now, when dailypocsix celebrated their one year anniversary earlier this year, they did so with custom art. All this blog has ever been is basically me ripping off their ideas and I'm not stopping now! I commissioned art from some very, very talented people to celebrate some of the dream casts that we have enjoyed on this blog and that we will see in the future! Let's all take a look together, shall we?

Coffee Trips and Subway Crushes

             DISCLAIMER- I own no rights to any Marvel characters.

 Mahogany brown curls cascade over her shoulders as she sits on the train, book in one hand and coffee in the other. Periodically, she takes sips of the nearly forgotten drink, eyes widening as her almond shaped eyes widen as the book takes on a turn no one could see coming. She pulls her scarf up over her face a little higher, then returns her interest to the book.

             He’s watched her on this train everyday for nearly a month, admiring the fact that there is a new book every week, admiring her style, admiring her look of nonchalance until the books is in her hands. Suddenly, she is enthralled with the words on the page. And, if he had to admit it, he’d admit that it makes her look even cuter. Just further deepening his crush on Mysterious Train Girl.

             ‘’Dude, are you into her?’’

             Miles Morales breaks out of his deep thought, before turning to the voice that has succeeded in helping him do so. Peter Parker, his roommate and semi-friend, is sitting next to him, eyes drifting back and forth between him and the girl on the train.

             In the past year, Miles has had a lot of changes. He saved up enough to buy his own, first car. He graduated in the top ten of his class. He enrolled in NYU and is sharing a dorm room with Peter Parker, Ned Led, and his best friend, Ganke. He’s been on the Dean’s list for the first semester and is working on this second consecutive semester. He’s got a great job at the bookstore, scholarships to help him balance out his spending, and may have a second job as a TA next school year.

             All of this, though, can’t make him feel confident enough to approach this girl on the subway that he’s had a crush on for the entire month of January now.

             ‘’What? Who her?’’

             ‘’Her her, Kyla.’’

             Miles whips around to Peter, who is causally staring at Miles’ as if he wonders if they’re on the same page.th

             ‘’How do you know her?’’

             ‘’She’s in my bio-lecture,’’ Peter shrugs, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world, ‘’She’s in my tutoring group, I mean. Comes to all the sessions, tries her best.’’

             ‘’Kyla,’’ Miles tries the name out, enjoying the way it comes off her tongue.

             ‘’Yup,’’ Peter speaks, popping the ‘p’, ‘’Kyla Rodriguez. I guess she’s a student in the College of Arts and Science. I think that’s what she said?’’

             ‘’Sophomore?’’

             ‘’Freshman, like you. Of course,’’ Peter muses, ‘’you could find all of this out if you’d go over and talk to her.’’

             ‘’You’re funny, Parker. Will you be here all week?’’

             ‘’I’m serious, Morales. She’s a nice person, you’re getting on my nerves just staring at the like that.’’

             ‘’Rude,’’ Miles deadpans, ‘’Besides, I can think that someone is attractive and not want to approach them.’’

             ‘’Okay. Except you so obviously want to approach her and just haven’t done anything yet. So, I’m telling you- get a move on.’’

             If Miles didn’t know any better, he’d think that Peter Parker was seriously suggesting that he go over to this actual beauty and make conversation wither. Surely, Peter’s not suggesting that.

Because that is impossible.

Miles would know.

He’s tried.

‘’You’re making this be a lot harder than it is supposed to be. But I’ll drop it. Anyway, I’ve got a date with MJ tonight. I’ll bring you guys some leftovers if I want.’’

‘’Sounds good,’’ Miles nods as they pull up to the stop where she, Kyla, gets off. She places her book in her bag and practically glides off the train, ‘’So, what else do you know about her?’’
