Krosp has only been in 'the real world' for what? maybe 4 months subjective time?
when He left Castle Wulfenbach he couldn't tell Grass from Trees- there are a lot of subjects where he'd be a country bumpkin and yet he gives such consistently good advice! he's so smart!
but since he grew up hiding in the crevices of the capital of the empire and spending a good amount of time in the school? No wonder he has opinions on Statescraft! Not only is it his stated purpose, raising good rulers is more or less the stated intention of the Wulfenbach school for politically valuable children!
You know, I was wondering how our crew would end up in Skifander -- getting Zeetha home is a reason and retrieving Higgs is another, but neither of 'em are more important than Mechanicsburg. But with the new page? They're going there for the flame.
stealing this screenshot from a post correcting people about what liminal spaces are, because I want to say something kind of unrelated and don’t want to bother the op - it’s funny this wiki article identifies airports as one of these non-places, and one of the “criteria” for a non-place is somewhere where you are able to remain anonymous, because (at least in north america, I can’t speak globally), one of the primary terrors of airports is its ability to render you a known quantity at basically any time, to bring you into public attention specifically by cops and security people identifying who you are. Airport security, bag inspections, police, surveillance cameras, etc do this security theatre routine at airports in a way that is more intense than other public spaces. Like I just don’t think this state of remaining anonymous in the airport applies to muslims or other religious and racial minorities the state deems to be a “high risk population” vis a vis border security, I think if you want to make the argument that these places allow anonymity, a fundamental part of this analysis has to include the fact that this anonymity is premised on visiting state violence, surveillance, and coercion on largely non-white and religious minorities, particularly and especially muslims, to “protect” and secure this space of (largely white) public anonymity
Yeah, that gambit was not well thought out Martellus
reasons Krosp is the best (but not the funniest):
Krosp really drives home that he can't manipulate her into doing more or less anything, especially here. Since he's formally her Leige, then there's no real conflict of interest or appearance of unusual deference. also unlike to stab or be stabbed nor to make Agatha look unduly beholden.
but the funnier options:
Tarvek- would turn into a poison tasting party and that just isn't the diplomatic look that Advantages Agatha to the crowd Tweedle brought. Also his relationship with Agatha is yet informal, so it would be improper for him to represent her in this, potentially even causing a confused impression of their intended relative power (in either direction). Would be so funny though, to treat this manipulation with a different acknowledged storm king! that sure is his own rank or higher!
Zeetha- biggest problem is that she might stab him. He's an Oaf and that would work against him. Also the fact that she's such a foreign princess (and a princess at that, not a queen) would make her position tenuous for the peanut gallery. Same basic dig though- it's like he forgot there were other royals in Agatha's entourage.
Bang- indisputably the funniest option and fully a queen, if one who's purview is a little confused at this point. Would Stab Him for Sure. Would definitely send a message to the 50 family schemers Tweedle brought, but probably not the right one. Again not formally associated with Agatha and so a bit inappropriate, but also just so intensely not what he was aiming for that it's hilarious.
"In this reality, Aaron had to shake off his life of crime and become a surrogate father figure to Miles."
".. where it felt like Aaron and Miles G. Morales of Earth-42 [this reality’s counterpart to Miles Morales] are the only heroes."
".. [Miles] doesn't have superpowers, but he has fallen into the role of becoming the vigilante the Prowler, under the tutelage of his uncle Aaron."
Good news! I'm done with Hidden Hands's Chapter 3 draft, just editing the whole manuscript and then will wait for my beta readers to get back with me after they review my Chapter. I can finally draw some requests and some other AU related stuff after that, yay!
