I think a good compromise would have been to give Seteth, Flayn and Rhea (in her base form, not just as a dragon, since there really shouldn't be any meaningful durability increase just because she transformed) Awakening and Fates' versions of Dragonskin, where any character who hits them with anything other than specific weapons (in this case, Relics) automatically does half their normal damage and can't get critical hits or activate Lethality, whereas characters who do hit them with Relics do three quarters of their normal damage; sure, characters using normal weapons could still hurt and potentially even kill them, but not only would they need a lot of babying to do so, especially when Relic users are aplenty, the game would at least be actively supporting the idea that yes, Nabateans are exceptionally durable and hard to kill, especially if you can't use Relics.

Maybe, but wouldn't that basically make Seteth overpowered as one of your playable units? lol

But yeah, I could something like this, to convey how... "durable" they are compared to humans, and make it ring closer that the only thing that can reliably hurt them is... weapons crafted from their massacred kin.

Crestless characters being able to kill them, mechanically, is like FE4 where people at least deal 1 dmg to Julius iirc? So possibly, Tristan with a lot of babying could deafeat Loptyr-Julius and save the world, even if canon-wise (even if Seliph being able to kill him is the only example of Jugdral dropping the ball with ludonarrative dissonance) only Julia can kill him.

Similarly people are so impatient with games and game development. If every game isn't a constant flood of top tier new stuff every day, then people complain that it's taking to long or it gets stale or lacks variety or whatever.

Even games that have a ton of stuff in them but take time to unlock that stuff isn't good enough any more. Everyone just wants everything immediately all the time and it's just ridiculous.

Some of the best games I've ever played have been monstrous 40-80 hour stories with a million things to do, but an equal amount of fantastic games are short with maybe a half dozen options and a handful of upgrades to get. A game should be judged based on the quality of what it is, not how quickly the devs can churn out more game. The eternal hunger for more, more, more is just...disheartening, to say the least.

It's not just players, of course, the economic factors of the game development industry demand constant new stuff for any hint of profit, but players can choose not to fall victim to that same ravenous ideology.

I dunno. People just need more patience. People who create things need the grace and time to create those things to the best of their ability. I'll gladly wait however long to get something that the devs are proud of and happy with than trash a game for not being custom built to entertain me for the rest of time.

Honestly for a while we thought if we were going to build an IDW inspired Arcee as a player character or non-player character that we’d draw on the Wrecker line due to the speed and aggression of the style but after reading Robots in Disguise (we will not shut up about RID lmao) the disarming defenses thing seems key to building her character because she actually deflects blasts with her swords. It would be easy to rule that this Disarming Defenses perk would let her use her swords as cover (even if this isn’t a canon rules interpretation, it’s thematic) because she is trained in such a combat style. Motorcycle Arcee might be more of a Warrior Wrecker though like come on we all have watched Prime she runs like the wind to cut many heads.
