I know I haven't been posting anythink about Terry silver lately so here is a post I was watching season 4 the other day and when John goes to his home and you see him with his hair down, with curls e does look beautiful and I also love how light his clothes are then when he comes back to cobra kai I love how he goes back to his dark clothes, I stoll find him very attractive and I never relized that his voice as well has gotten so deeps compared to when he was in (kk3) is that just me? “again, harder,” silver barks, and it takes everything in him not to outright grin when the lawrence boy immediately obeys, hits the wooden frame before him with everything he’s got and perfect form. it’s beautiful - pure obedience, no room left for any trifling issue such as concern for himself, and even when blood smears across the wood and silver is sure the spell will be broken (he can only hold out so much hope for the boy) lawrence doesn’t stop.

“again,” silver tells him, testing, and he can’t help it, he beams when the boy immediately strikes again with precisely the same amount of force, no hesitation. johnny grits his teeth against the pain as more blood smears with the blow, beginning to spill from his knuckles and drip to the mats, but he shows no signs of reluctance nor regret. terry knows with no doubt in his mind that he’d continue if terry ordered him to. instead, he steps forward, “stop.”

lawrence does. he stays poised, however, ready to strike once again or obey whatever order follows, as if he fears this may be a trap.

“come here.”

lawrence does. he’s tall with his back straight, chin raised and eyes looking straight through silver respectfully, but he’s still tense. terry thinks he looks as if he thinks he might be struck, wonders briefly - amusedly - what exactly his johnny has done to the boy. the surprise on his face, at least, is comical when silver instead takes him gently by his pale wrist and examines his damaged hand.

his knuckles are badly split. bleeding, enough that it pools quickly in silver’s palm when he interrupts the dripping to the floor.

“does it hurt?” silver asks, raising his gaze to examine the boy’s face below him.

his pretty blue eyes look slightly wet, but lawrence shakes his head. “no, sir. i can keep going.”

if it was anyone else, perhaps silver would make him. but maybe he has a soft spot, at least for the perfection in mr. lawrence.

“go and wash it carefully. come back here and i’ll dress it for you.”

this time, lawrence does hesitate, for just a moment. he withdraws his wrist gently from silver’s grasp, and makes just a moment of eye contact.

“yes sir,” he says finally, and disappears in the direction of the washroom.

silver watches him go, and waits to smile again until the boy is out of sight.

he’d never even had to tell johnny to call him sir.

THANK YOU, I also believe that Terry didn't really want Daniel to be his friend and I also think that his 'apology' was just for show. because of the way he reacted with instant anger, 'that little prick blah blah blah'. When you apologize to somene and mean it genuinely, when you are really truly sorry for something, their acceptance (or not) of your apology is irrelevant. Terry's anger at Dainel for not accepting it right away shows that his apology was not genuine, in my opinion.

I mean, Terry Silver's been deliberately manipulating Daniel Larusso (and by extension almost everyone else in his life) all his life, yet for some reason, people are convinced that in this one special instance, this apology was honest and totally not a public performative stunt and effort of a gleeful abuser in order to get back in with someone he formerly abused and gaslight everyone into making it seem like his past victim was the mean, irrational and intolerant one for not accepting said apology when it was offered 'so graciously' alongside the cup of peace and with the biggest puppy eyes of all time from a sad, regretful old man who just wants to make amends. Pinkie promise.

It is literally a classic, textbook move.

That's how abusers get you time and time and time again.

Because this time, they changed. Really. Truly.

No, you're the heartless one for not seeing it and giving them another chance!

Everyone! Look at how unkind this individual is!

It's like a bully in class hitting you all throughout your education and then when a teacher finally intervenes and has you hash it out in front of the whole class, you, as the one who was battered and bruised for years, end up seeming like the bad guy for not exactly being keen on hugging it out with the person who pushed you into the locker with your pants down during recess more times than you can count. Great and now the bully is giving you a sad, crestfallen gaze, on the verge of tears because of it and everyone feels sorry for them the way they never felt sorry for you.

Like, I see the whole apology thing as Daniel not accepting a prompt 'sorry' because he refused to be manipulated any further by someone he personally knows is two faced and downright unhinged and once Terry Silver couldn't get close to his former victim and wiggle his way back in through old tricks and tugging at Daniel's empathy, he promptly went hostile and declared war. Okay, so you're not gonna fall into the same old trap again!? Fine then, you little prick! So be it! Then, you're my enemy! If you don't capitulate, you'll be destroyed. Like, it is literally so obvious that reading it as anything else is genuinely the reach of the century, and I say this as someone who is mega biased towards Terry, and not exactly the biggest fan of Daniel, yet it is still a reach. 😬

i’ve got a whole box of tapes! my favorites (aside from thriller) are my madonna single & my motley crue single! i collect a lot of vintage items. specifically tapes, vhs tapes, records, & clothes ( i have the karate kid on vhs !)

That is so cool! I love to collect those items as well along with CDs! (not as much clothing but I love to find a good piece when out thrift shopping!)

Those singles sound so cool! I love singles as well, especially cassette singles with their unique covers in cardboard sleeves! I actually currently have the goal of collecting all the cassette singles for Michael Jacksons ”Dangerous” album and I’m halfway there (european releases are harder to find and more expensive and ofc 2 of them fit those very catagories). I love to look on eBay and at thrift stores for items and I also watch out for deals and events like yard sales as well as I’ve found some great stuff for good prices doing that! I usually look for 80s classics and personal favorites of mine since it’s so cool to own a fav on tape or record!

Whenever you want to show or talk about these collections, I would love to do the same! I love to see others with a passion for collecting these items! 💕

what kind of man doesn't & better than your best by menocchio, also known as 'road boys' (or it was when it was being posted and I was reading!).

I decided to continue down the design path I took with Tucked!, printing titles directly onto book cloth and using single-colour endpapers. My second project was actually bootstrapping, but I messed up that binding so much I didn't want to share it at first - one day I might cut the text block out of the case, re-do the case and case it in again, to fix all the problems I had. I do console myself with the fact my colour and cover paper choices were on point, at least. check out the mad 80s/90s energy of this, I'm in love. (I'm pretty sure I had a tracksuit in the early 90s in those exact colours.)

what kind of man doesn't and better than your best are a series so I wanted them to match. I chose yellow/orange as the colours for wkomd because of how when I started reading it, the image seared into my mind was that of a hot and golden California sun. for btyb I went with a dark green and blue because it's a kk3 rewrite, and I associate it very strongly with bonsai so I wanted a more down-to-earth colour palette for it. as it happened I had Dubletta (same brand bookcloth as for Tucked!) in those colours so it was an easy choice.

so many things went wrong with the bootstrapping binding, starting with...my printer deciding to do an adjustment thing and me forgetting about this, so when I put in the carefully cut and measured book cloth sheet in, it printed...like this:

I should've recognised it for the Omen it was.

I redid it, and then between measuring and cutting the boards for the case and casing in, the textblock swelled (or I measured wrong?) which meant the textblock was pressing against the insides of the hinges, making them look bulky and gross instead of crisp and square. and also, the cover paper I used didn't take the moisture from the PVA well AT ALL so it instantly wrinkled and could not be smoothed out hard as I tried, so the cover is just. wrinkled now. I also somehow managed to lay it down askew so the cover paper is not parallel (notice the overlap differences between the bottom and top of the front cover).

as if that wasn't enough, the logo on the spine is off centre too! sheesh. not to mention the endpapers! I somehow missed an edge curling over and so it...glued in place like this. and the corresponding corner has a starch paste stain now.

I was so mad about it all that when I put it in to press, I faced it away from me. think about what you did, asshole

in beautiful contrast, almost* nothing went wrong with wkomd and btyb!

*I accidentally glued the spine piece down to wkomd incorrectly so I had to reprint that book cloth and cut a new spine piece. I tried to gently cut the spine piece off the original book cloth to see if I could re-use the book cloth, but I just cut through the cloth and also left a layer of board on it in places so, no, lol. I did salvage the back and front parts of the cloth to use in other projects and only discarded the spine piece. it could've been a lot worse.
