So, Will you Take $20,000 (maybe) to Shut Up About the Genocide?
Stimulus: 48,000+ Wisconsin voters vote "uninstructed" in the primary to protest the genocide.
Response:
Cynical, calculating bullshit! Bribing you with your own money!
The demographics in play, outlined in the article: Young voters are more likely to push back on the genocide. Young voters also need enough money to live, and are taking the most damage from the student debt crisis.
We already have the leverage in student loans. They know we ain't have the money. They know if they press this, a shit-ton of people will default because they have no other choice. Together, we indebted students are too big to fail. Some hardline conservatives are willing to burn the economy to the ground anyway, but probably not enough to do it for realsies. So something will be done to pare down the numbers.
I'm in a privileged position in that my tiny family is legally obligated to default. We don't have a US bank account anymore and the loan company won't take our payments from Canada. I mean, we weren't going to pay anyway, and we applied for the debt relief, but even if they yank that out from under us, we can't pay. We're locked in. If the rest of you threaten to default in lockstep (and, again, many of you have no other choice!) you're in a position to demand concessions. This would happen with or without the genocide.
But in this context, it's being offered as a bribe. You want to support the guy who might give you back some of your stolen money, right? He doesn't have to address the other thing!
They're getting scared now, and this is a gambit to tamp down the protests without addressing the issue. There will be more! My brain refuses to see a good reason to obliterate Palestine, but, kicking and screaming, I must acknowledge that we really want to let it happen anyway. The collective will in this case is all for the genocide - certainly in the legislature and maybe even among voters, split between people who are just that scared of Trump and people who just DGAF. And Democrats are doing all kinds of sleight of hand to cover for more slaughter.
First, they come at you all smiles and try to get you to quiet down. That is, in the context of every protest I attended before my health crashed, the traditional opening play. It doesn't usually work, but they want it to work. If we keep yelling, they will stop being nice. Be prepared for a sudden, total turn around in support for your rights of free speech.
In the meantime, be prepared for a lot of nice words that signify nothing. Talk is cheap. Ignore the patter and watch the hands. Is the action going to mitigate the damage or just obscure it? It's not always this obvious!

Ok this protest voting bullshit has to stop!!!! Do you really think it's helping anything? Making a point in this way I'm sorry to tell you is completely and utterly pointless!! All any of you are doing are pushing vote totals to Trump is that what you want in the general election for President? Cause Trump doesn't give a fuck about what's going on in Palestine and that mf stands 1000% with Israel, beyond that he thinks Netanyahu is a great leader!
No I don't agree with how Biden is handling things with regards to Palestine either. However I would much rather deal with him being in White House at least willing to listen to the American people.
Because the alternative is absolutely terrifying, because Trump listens to no one but perhaps the voices in his head!! He will do nothing to but give more bombs and weapons to Israel. Just think about that when you're thinking of protest voting!
If you want to protest do it the old fashion way. Hit the streets with signs and as many people as you can get, get the permits you need, if you need them and make a whole lot of noise... oh yeah call your local news stations to let them know that's there is going to a protest going on.
Don't do it in a way that will put a Dictator in charge of our country!!!

Do not write "Gaza" as a protest vote in these states Primary for president for these states
Seeing articles suggesting that in Illinois, but protest votes like that aren't counted in many states
To register a non-Biden vote in the tallies [ of aCategory 4: No Uncommitted Option, Most Write-Ins Not Counted, Blank Ballots Not Counter], you have to vote for someone pre-approved by the state, whether that be a named candidates on the ballot or a qualified write-in candidate. For most states, this leaves you with Dean Phillips and/or Marianne Williamson if you want your vote to count. Feel free to choose between the two at your own discretion, although you can always vote for another listed candidate or even pick someone from your state’s list of qualified write-in candidates if you really want to avoid voting for either of them.
note I found one contradicting opinion to my source
ReadingRambo Mar 3 Hold on. Blank ballots do count for something in Category 4 and 5. Because President isn’t the only race on the ballot. If I vote on all the other lines but not that one, my other votes count. If Biden gets fewer votes than his fellow Dems downballot, that shows up. And it might actually be really important: it’s looking increasingly likely that people will do this in the general. I know I will. SHARE ettingermentum Mar 3Author That’s a little more abstract I think. The idea here is replicating the Michigan thing—i.e., reducing his percentage. ReadingRambo Mar 3 It still matters! Don’t rob us of our agency! I promise you they’ll notice. Ballot underhang gets attention.
Something I am unsure of:
[although you can always vote for another listed candidate (unsure what this means, would I put in a senator candidate or something as a protest vote? Or do some states have extra candidates exclusive to that state?)]
I have been unable to find a list of qualified write-in candidates for my state but maybe you can? I can understand wanting to do so if Dean Phillips is too conservative and in past voted along Biden's lines. Leaving blank might also be an option so long as vote for locals as stated above... [Or if any others are an option as a state exclusive presidential candidate as discussed above]
March 19th: Arizona (D and M), Illinois (D and M), Ohio (Dean only) April 23rd: Pennsylvania (Dean only) May 14th: Nebraska (Dean only), West Virginia (Dean only)

“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing." -John Stuart Mill, 1867 inaugural address at the University of St. Andrews

Election 2024: Protest Vote in the Primary, not in the General
Just when you thought it was safe to protest vote, Clayton Jones of Claytoonz reminds us of the actual stakes.
There’s been a lot, and when I say a lot, I mean a lot, of pixels burned, ink spilt, clothing rent, and self-righteous smirks smirked over the “uncommitted” or “no preference” protest votes against Biden in the primary, especially in states with large Muslim populations. That’s fine. Protest vote all you want. Be as much of a sanctimonious ass as you wanna be over it as long as you remember and…

Uncommitted!
Still getting coverage - although AP tried to dilute the message by saying the reasons for the protest "may differ," they are still centring Palestine!
And, of course, the denial and resistance is strong, and rooted in confidence that we hate Trump enough to OK a genocide.
Biden’s allies believe disaffected Democrats will return to the president’s fold when faced with a choice between him and Trump, who the president’s campaign has argued is a threat to democracy and is planning a sweeping set of policy changes that would attack liberal priorities.
I'm not making it up. If you listen, they will tell you they don't have to do anything because Trump has their back. These "uncommitted" and "leave it blank" campaigns are one of the last non-violent and non-Trump-electing forms of effective protest, and the higher-ups are broadcasting their intent to ignore and the reason why.
The response so far has been flogging another hypothetical six-week pause as a "cease fire," dropping expired MREs on people, and building a port that won't be ready for deliveries until way more people die. All the while, we are sending more weapons to continue the slaughter. This isn't "working tirelessly" for peace, it's "working tirelessly" to continue the genocide while avoiding political consequences.
If your primary works in a way that will register a protest vote (mine doesn't) PLEASE PROTEST VOTE. And if it doesn't, the only thing you can do is keep threatening to withhold your vote in the general. SCARE THEM OUT OF THEIR COMPLACENCY. You don't have to register an actual vote until November, and there are so many more human lives we're going to lose if we let this continue until then.
I can't walk up and bully US politicians in person anymore. We took our money out of the system at the cost of being less visible when we object. We were in a reliably blue district in a reliably red state, so we weren't getting much visibility anyway, and Democratic strategy is clearly ignoring AZ this cycle, in spite of the swing to blue last time. If you can be seen, especially if you're in the South or a historic swing state, please do whatever you can to be seen. Don't sleep on this! We've still got time to make a difference!

What progress at home has biden enacted? What policies of his show that he is making progress that prove he is actually different than trump?
I like to pretend I have faith in humanity, so I'll answer as if you're asking this in good faith.
Biden's DEA has lifted restrictions on telehealth prescriptions to make appointments and assistance more accessible.
He put a funding package into place to help unhoused people get access to mental and physical healthcare, as well as short-term and long-term housing.
He has attempted and is still attempting to get student debt relief through - this was blocked by Republican judges appointed by Trump, but he's still working on it.
Infrastructure repair - his administration has budgeted funds to actually fix some severely-damaged and frequently-traveled bridges.
Trying to expand access to healthcare to include undocumented immigrants who came to the USA as children (Dreamers) under the Affordable Care Act. Support for Navigator programs and outreach has also been increased.
He has vetoed Republican-led bills that were attempting to overturn environmental protections - one that would have forbidden investment fund managers to consider climate change in their portfolios (I have two degrees in accounting and this is actually huge), and another that would have overturned restrictions on agricultural runoff into our waterways.
He and his administration worked for ages to get rail workers paid sick days.
This is just some of what he's been doing. Meanwhile, Trump and other Republicans want to criminalize the lives of LGBT people like you and me. They want to eliminate no-fault divorce and force births that will kill parents or devastate them financially. They have stated flat out that they want to install a military dictatorship in the USA. They attempted to put that in motion on January 6th, 2021. They failed once. They will do better next time.
One party wants to house the homeless and expand social safety nets, while the other one wants to criminalize homelessness. One of them wants a future in which I might be able to vote to change how much of a war machine my country is, while the other one wants to eliminate my ability to vote entirely. Those are not the same. Those literally are opposites.
At the end of the day, all you and I can do is choose to do the least amount of harm possible. You and I cannot choose to do no harm. This is the USA, we sell war, you and I cannot choose to do no harm. I wish we could, my god do I wish we could, but that is not an option. So we grieve for the harm we couldn't eliminate and work to minimize the harm that is done. Despite all the crap they support, Democrats are the minimum amount of harm right now. Acting like they aren't is exactly what brought us to an election where our options are a future where we are either wading in blood or drowning in it.
Not voting for Biden will not help Palestine. Not voting for Biden will guarantee a Republican president who will make the situation in Palestine WORSE. AND it'll hurt a lot of other places as well, both at home and abroad, because Republicans are about business and the USA is in the business of war! And I would very much like that to change someday! I would very much like to someday be able to choose to do no harm! And I know what I have to do to try for that future, so what are YOU going to do? There is no standing off to the side in this. If you aren't helping pull, you're the dead weight we're pulling. Are you going to dig your feet into the mud and blood and drown us there? Or are you going to get the fuck off your ass, grit your teeth, and help us pull free?

2,977 civilians died tragically in 9/11, 343 being firefighters.
Since then it has been “Never forget.” for over 20 years, the US attacked and destabilized an innocent country, and white ppl have further pushed the narrative that Muslims and Middle Easterners are all “evil terrorists”.
Now, in less than 6 months the OFFICIAL death toll in Gaza exceeds 30,000, half being CHILDREN. At least 200 doctors have died and many were TARGETED by IOF soldiers. I have seen children dismembered, maimed, sniped, run over, crushed, starved, scalped, exploded, burned, and strung up on the side of a building.
I have seen men, women, and children desperately digging through the rubble to find their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, children, friends, lovers etc.
I have seen brave doctors run outside to save injured civilians while at extremely high risk of being shot by snipers.
I have seen a father carrying BAGS full of his children’s remains.
I have seen a young girl, no more than 9, with a leg, an arm, and a hand blown off while her scalp hangs from her skull.
I have seen doctors speak out against the cruelty and ethnic cleansing while surrounded by the bodies of those they tried to save.
I have seen hundreds of pictures of NICU babies who were going to die soon because the hospital was about to run out of electricity.
I have read the first hand story of a father who traded one of his children for one of his brother’s children so that if one group dies at least one of their children would make it.
I have read posts from lgbt+ KIDS talking about how they regret not kissing their crush because they just watched them DIE.
I have seen the public posts of IDF and IOF soldiers where they show off the underwear and lingerie they looted from the drawers of the Gazans they are massacring.
I have listened to the screams of mothers after hearing their child is dead.
I have watched a teen boy’s gaze harden into something cold and empty after his entire family died in front of him, leaving him completely alone.
I have seen an IOF soldier throw a father and his baby into a giant wood burning oven just for fun.
I have seen many children with shell-shock, shaking because their minds and bodies can’t comprehend the horrors they have experienced.
I have seen tanks run over women actively giving birth on the roads of Gaza.
I have watched oldest siblings, no more than 11, take on the responsibility of keeping their younger siblings safe. I cannot comprehend how incredibly stressful that must be.
A little 6yo girl was trapped for 2 weeks in a car surrounded by the dead bodies of her family as they rotted.
This is all done with American tax dollars while companies like McDonalds give free food to Israeli soldiers. We are quite literally paying for this. 20% of your work and hard earned money is paying for the genocide of innocent people in Palestine.
This is NOT a political issue. This is a human rights issue.
Pro-Palestine is Pro-Humanity.
