“Are you sure you love me?”
I looked over at Putzie to see a cheeky grin on his face while he tried not to giggle. I told him I loved him for the first time that morning and he had been milking it dry, not that I minded. I decided to humor him. “Of course I’m sure,” I said looking back down at my project. I knew he was still watching me. I could feel his eyes on me. It was quiet for a few moments as I put the last details on my science presentation before I suddenly felt a heavy weight on top of me. “Get off of me. You’re too heavy.” He feigned a gasp. “I knew it. You don't love me.” He fell back dramatically on the bed before breaking into a fit of giggles. His giggle made me giggle until we were full on laughing together as I made my way to the bed where he wrapped his arms around my waist. As he calmed down he put his head in my neck. “You do really love me right? Cause I love you more than anything.” I took his head in my hands and looked him in the eye. “Of course.”

Rage Rising - Chapter 2
Chapter 1
Words: 1861
Putzie walked along the familiar road only half paying attention to the cracks in the paving slabs and weeds poking through. Despite it being late spring in California, it wasn’t a bright sunny day like it usually was. He could hear Doody and Sonny blabbering on, and he would join them if he wasn’t dreading the school day before it had even begun.
Danny and Kenickie’s fight had shaken most of them. They’d never fought in the entire time he’d known them. He couldn’t help but wonder if this was the beginning of the end. Graduation wasn’t too far away and he couldn’t be the only one thinking that their close group of friends were going to break apart.
But he was broken from his thoughts before they could spiral any further. They’d reached Kenickie’s house and the usual tense peace that they were used to was broken by a shouting match.
“I know what I saw Kenickie!” A lower, slightly slurred voice bellowed.
“I don’t know, okay? I’ve told you a thousand times that I don’t know, why can’t you just believe me?” Kenickie yelled back.
He emerged from the doorway still shrugging on his jacket. His hair wasn’t in its manicured pompadore style it usually was.
“Well, why should I believe you when you’re the one who’s been denying you’ve been getting these letters,” his dad said. “You denying it’s only making it more true!”
“That’s the first one, I’ve told you that!”
“Stop lying to me!”
“I’m not, I keep telling you that but if you’re not going to listen then why should I care? I’ll see you later, or I won’t, I just don’t care anymore.” Kenickie said.
He went to turn away but was stopped when his dad pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper. Kenickie didn’t move. In fact, Putzie could almost see hesitation as his eyes locked onto the piece of paper.
“Well, if you’re not going to tell me, if you don’t care, then you won’t care if I do this.”
His dad held the paper above Kenickie’s head. Kenickie let out a soft ‘No’, however, his dad evidently didn’t want to listen anymore. In one go, he ripped the paper into four equal pieces and dropped them onto the porch.
“Why would you-” Kenickie started as he collapsed to pick up the pieces at his feet. “How could you-”
“So, you do care,” his dad said simply. “And you care about her, but don’t care enough about me to tell me what I want.”
He shook his head. Kenickie looked up at him, at how he towered over him.
“Fine, but don’t come back here tonight,” he slurred again as he staggered back into the house. “Go and find her if you care so much.”
The moment ended. They stood there for a second watching him. Kenickie could be touchy at times, and they knew him well enough to know he wouldn’t like that they just saw that. Not that that would change the fact that they had.
After kneeling on the floor cradling the paper, he sniffed, wiping his nose on his jacket, and stood up. He placed the torn pieces in his pocket and turned around.
“What are you three doing here?” He asked.
“We came for a ride,” Doody said, gesturing to the car in the drive.
Kenickie didn’t say anything. He held his gaze on the three of them before shrugging and walking to the car. No one moved at first, not until they got an exasperated look, and climbed into the car, pulling out of the drive and pretending not to notice Kenickie’s dad peeking through the blinds.
~~~~
“No, I’m telling you, I’ve never seen them like that,” Doody said. “I know they argue but that was something else.”
They were at lunch. The group, sans Kenickie, were hanging onto his every word as they tried to figure out what that argument was about.
“I think they were on about some letter?” Sonny said. “I don’t know what was in it but it was enough for his dad to kick him out.”
Danny sat silently at the end of the table. He was definitely listening but there was a look on his face that told them that he knew more. He wasn’t sharing what he knew, however, and Sandy had an inkling that it had to do with their close bond that Rizzo told her about.
The conversation stopped again. Kenickie had spotted them, and was close enough to hear what they were on about.
“Having fun?” He said with a scowl.
Danny reached for him, his face screaming with guilt, “Nick-”
“No, it’s fine, carry on, why should I care that you’re discussing my personal life like some tv show,”
And with that, he walked away.
Danny got up to follow him but Sandy stopped him with a touch on his shoulder. She could see his heartbreak the same as the other night, after their argument. She’d said that someone needed to talk to Kenickie, Danny had failed, to some degree, so maybe she could put her hat in the ring.
~~~~
As most people were at lunch, the corridors were mostly empty, so it was easy to find Kenickie. He'd curled himself up in a corner near the science labs. If she listened closely, she could hear him crying.
"Kenickie?" She said.
He looked up. His red rimmed eyes told her that she was right.
"No offence, Sandy’s, but you're not the person I was hoping to see."
She carried on anyway. When she reached him, she made sure to look down with a smile. He shuffled up with a reluctant huff, he didn't look at her.
"You were hoping it was Danny, right?"
Now he looked up at her. In his eyes was shock, and a tiny bit of fear.
"I'm not stupid, you know," she said, then added. "That and Rizzo told me how close you two are."
He didn't look any less shocked. The fear grew in his eyes.
"And about your mum." She added quietly.
He didn't answer. Some of the fear lessened in his eyes. His body was still highly strung, tightly tucked into a ball like a child afraid of a storm.
"Fine, I'll tell you," he said.
She shifted to face him more. Worrying the chapped skin of his lip, he took a moment before he spoke.
"So, Rizzo told you about how my mom walked out on me-" he stopped, he seemed to ponder something before shaking his head and carrying on.
"Which I wasn't supposed to tell you."
He gave a small snort of laughter, "You're in for it, then."
Sandy laughed along too but his face soon fell and they were back to tense, half-filled silence as he thought of exactly what to say.
"My mom sends me birthday cards, she sent letters when she first walked out but I think she worried my dad would find out and know where to find her if he read them, so she just stuck to birthday cards.
"But my dad kinda knew, subconsciously, so when he’d get drunk, and he's a sentimental drunk too, he wails on me about where she is," he gulped and looked down as his eyes went watery. "He never gets physical, but it's-it's scary and the only person I've ever gone to is Danny."
"And a few days ago I got this letter from my mom, no address, so she either actually dropped it off or got someone to, and my dad found it before I did and started yelling at me about whether there were more and why she left-"
A tear dropped down his face. He furiously went to wipe it off, his jaw tense as he tried not to cry, to show he was vulnerable to this in any way.
"-and I went to ring Danny and I got no answer."
Sandy put the pieces into place. Danny had had dinner at her's one night in the week. She’d been in Danny's life more, and without knowing about their bond, must have changed things around from what they'd been for years.
"So, you think it's my fault?" She asked.
"Yes, no, I don't know anymore," he said. "That's what I thought on Saturday when we had that bonfire."
"And that’s what you and Danny were arguing about?"
"Yeah, I, erm, this is kinda awkward, I said some nasty stuff about you, and he put me in my place, but I went on about what I just told you, and I was so mad that I didn't give him a chance to, I don't know, help me? You know, talk it through?"
He ran his fingers through his hair and settled the base of his palms against his eyes.
"And things with my dad only got worse because he's drinking himself stupid, it's the weekend, you know, so he's crying to me about my mom and getting mad when he's sober and the one person I want to go to I can't because I couldn't keep my stupid mouth shut and we had a big fight."
Everything fell into place. The argument the others saw earlier, how dismissive and aloof he'd acted. What he didn't know is how sad Danny had been acting. If Kenickie thought he was mad, he couldn't be more wrong.
"I think you should talk to him," she said.
When he gave her an eye roll, she carried on, "No really, Danny’s just worried for you, we all are."
He sniffed and played with his hands.
"No you’re not."
"Yes, they are, they all are, Rizzo, Danny, me."
They met eyes.
"You're worried about me?"
"I mean, yeah, you're acting even more cold than normal, and for good reason but you're just shutting everyone out."
He gestured between them, "But I've been nothing but mean to you, on purpose-"
"Doesn't mean I can't worry," she said, then turned to face him fully. "Look, we may not get on but Danny cares about both of us a lot, so maybe for his sake, we agree to get on a bit more?"
He shrugged his shoulders and nodded. He looked away again.
"And you go and talk to him, if not for you, then for me? It'll show him that he doesn't have to choose between us to have us in his life."
Still averting his gaze, he waited a moment or two before nodding and extended a hand. He didn't spit on it for once.
"Friends for Danny?"
"Friends for Danny."
She got up and, still holding his hand, pulled him up too. They walked back to the canteen in silence. As they entered, the group looked at them. Danny seemed to hold his breath.
"I'm sorry for the other day," Kenickie said, Danny let out a sigh of relief. "And for how I've been acting."
"Thanks, man, thanks,"
And everything seemed to go back to normal. Sandy and Kenickie fell to each side of Danny, the rest of the T-Birds and Pink Ladies bickered. And Sandy realised that Danny smiled for the first time all weekend.
I've had this written since I posted the first chapter but then I just procrastinated posting and then started my prompt challenge but here it is! Thanks for reading!

pros of forcing your father to watch stranger things: watching it more slowly and processing the show more deeply on a rewatch, he was a teenager in the 80's so will pause the show and talk about the music and cultural references, having someone to talk to about it
cons of forcing your father to watch stranger things: every time steve harrington is on screen he calls him a putz

"Grease" Backstories
Sandy Olsson/Yung/Dumbrowski
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In “Grease Live!” Sandy’s family is from Utah, and her parents are extremely controlling, to the point of not allowing her to attend school dances. It’s believed that in this version, her family are strict Mormons.
This background works for most any time period. But if we want to tie her story closer to the ‘50s, and/or just want her to be from Australia or someplace else, here’s another idea:
Sandy’s father has a prestigious position in….some business or another. The “change of plans” that caused the family to abruptly move to another state/country/side of the globe happened when his longtime business associate was Blacklisted as a Communist. Mr. Olsen/Young/Whoever ended that partnership on the spot and moved his family as far away from that associate as possible.  He is obsessed with his family’s good, upstanding, “family values” reputation.
And Sandy of course just wants to be a teenager.
Danny Zuko:
Tumblr media
“You’re lucky to have parents who care so much; mine don’t care about anything.”
~ Danny Zuko, “Grease Live!” (2016)
This single line goes worlds to explaining Danny’s dependence on the T-Birds, and why he’s drawn to a sensitive girl like Sandy.
So why don’t his parents care about anything?
Danny is the result of a shotgun wedding. Dad the veteran unknowingly knocked up Danny’s mom just before shipping out to Japan. Mr. Zuko returned from the War with untreated PTSD, and a son he didn’t plan on. Because of the time period, Danny’s parents were pressured to get married. They don’t exactly fight, they just exist in a loveless marriage, begrudgingly raising their kids in a house full of untreated PTSD and substance abuse.
Kenickie:
Tumblr media
Note: I have absolutely no clue where the Grease Wiki gets the “Kenickie Murdock” from. The name “Murdock” is not given to Kenickie in either the movie or the TV version, and I can find no evidence of it being in the stage version either. The only “Murdock” in the play/movie is Mrs. Murdock the shop teacher, and there’s no indication of any relationship to Kenickie, bar maybe the car connection. In any case, Kenickie itself is a last name.
Kenickie’s “Mom” tattoo is pretty damn corny, but if you can get past that, it’s a detail that drops a bombshell of backstory hints.
For all his edgelord behavior, Kenickie is stunningly chivalrous when he learns Rizzo may be pregnant. Even nowadays, a true asshole would run out on her. Here it’s the ‘50s, he wants to be there for her and his hypothetical unplanned kid.  Rizzo knows what a hardass Kenickie is, yet thinks crying in front of him is “the worst thing I could do”--worse than dating his enemy and telling him “it’s someone else’s kid.”
Here’s my spin: Kenickie’s mom died from some disease like Cancer or radium poisoning. It was slow and emotionally scarring, and Rizzo knows about it. She knows seeing a woman he cares about in emotional distress again would break him.
His father is alive, but absent, if not literally then at least emotionally. Kenickie was apparently gone the entire summer, none of the other T-Birds knew where he was for three months. The Bargain City he was lugging boxes at was apparently out of town. Who was he living with for the summer? His grandparents? A friend of the family? Who knows.
Betty Rizzo:
Tumblr media
She’s “the school tramp” (“Grease Live!”) and the neighborhood thinks she’s trashy. Yet she doesn’t seem to live in a ghetto or anything, if the opening cartoon is anything to go by. She’s from a working-class family that just has a bad reputation, probably for incredibly stupid reasons given that it’s the ‘50s.
Betty’s mom had her out of wedlock and didn’t bother to hide it. She did eventually get married—to the neighborhood gambling addict. The last person to find out that this guy wasn’t Betty’s rea father was Betty. Since having that bomb dropped on her, Betty’s one scruple is that she doesn’t lie.
Frenchie:
Tumblr media
Has a relatively normal family. She’s Jewish (because Didi Cohn). No one in her nuclear family has any numbers tattooed on their arms though; they’ve been in the States since the Twenties. Why does she have her own TV in her room in the ‘50s? She doesn’t; the Pink Ladies just commandeered the family set for the night.
What do her parents think of her academic decisions? They’re a bit exasperated by her dropping out, pursuing that beauty-school pipe-dream, and having to stay in high school a bit longer to make up for it. But it’s not of the world. Frenchie has a relatively normal, if sit-commy family.
Jan:
Tumblr media
The only thing really making her an outcast is that she eats a lot and she’s quirky. Mom frequently gives her grief for her unhealthy eating habits and sketchy friends, but on the whole Jan has a pretty normal life. Or maybe not-so-normal by ‘50s standards. Nothing gets Jan down. Not being called “fat,” not being compared to a cartoon beaver, nothing. Her family doesn’t adhere to the ridged rules of ‘50s society. Her parents are beanik-y artists.
Doody:
Tumblr media
His skittish personality runs in the family.  His father is hyper-paranoid that the Russians will nuke us any day now, and upkeeps the family bomb shelter obsessively. Dad has so much unnecessary crap hoarded up for the supposed Armageddon that Doody has no trouble finding parts for Greased Lightning right at home.
Sonny Latierri:
Tumblr media
…has been flukning school a lot. It’s implied in the TV version, and goes universes to explaining why he particularly looks so old in the movie even compared to the other “teenagers.”
Putzie:
Tumblr media
Even with your slash-goggles off, his character screams “in the closet” pretty hard. He takes ogling girls to extremes, and “jokingly” feels up Kenickie during “Summer Nights” in the movie. The only indication that he might be into girls for real is his admittedly adorable flirtation with Jan, and even could just have been playground-romance. Or he could be bi.
Marty:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Having boy-toys all over the world means that Marty probably has some familiarity with the different subcultures overseas. She has a feu greasers here in the States and one in Canada; a Teddy Boy in England; a drag-racing Raggare in Sweden; a Bōsōzoku in Japan; and a wildly-dressed Halbstarke in Germany, who sends her the weirdest gifts.
Crater-Face:
Tumblr media
…is not the token racist, because that’s just lazy writing.
Aside from that, I don’t know that I can give him a serious backstory, because his movie-counterpart is just so distractingly old for the part. I jokingly head-canon that he’s a conman in his 40s hiding from both the mafia and the law, trying unconvincingly to live the false identity of a high school student.
Or maybe he’s a cop on assignment to infiltrate teenage drag-racing gangs.
Principal McGee:
Tumblr media
The tight-laced principal doesn’t want any of her students to know that when she was in high school, in the Roaring Twenties, she was the wildest flapper in California.
Mrs. Murdock
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a young woman in the ‘30s, she was part of a small gang of robbers akin to Bonnie and Clyde or the Dillinger gang. This is what led to her prison time. She got a shortened sentence for her work as a wrench-wench during the War. She misses the old times, which is why she assists the T-Birds in their illicit vehicular activities.

Weird coincidence, but people are starting to make Grease AU after I watch it for the first time with my family some nights ago.
Unfortunately, I have no love if not dislike for this movie...... the only things I like are the songs and Jan/Putzie

Tumblr media
Summary: Danny had been crushing on Y/n since they started high school, when he finally told her, he was over the moon when she agreed to a date.
Warnings: swearing, NSFW, adult themes, based of GREASE (1978), p n v, Oral female reeving,
Pairing: Danny Zuko x Fem! Reader
Y/n is no girl Danny's ever seen before, she's absolutely different compared to the rest of the girls that went to Randell High School. She didn't care about skirts or frilly dresses; she got her hands dirty while looking gorgeous at that. Danny was head over heels.
He was at lunch with Kenickie, Soony, Doody, and Putzie.
"Guys, she's just, ugh!" Danny said, trying to get them to understand where he was coming from. "She just effortlessly gorgeous," he finished.
"Man, really sounds like you're in love with this girl," Kenickie commented, smothering his cigarette against his boot.
"Hey, hey, maybe you should get her to, ya know..." Danny glared at Soony,
"Is that really all you think about?"
"You bet!" Kenickie shoved him away before turned back towards Danny,
"Look, here she comes!"
"Stupid skirts," Y/n groaned, Frenchie wasn't too far.
"Well, my suggestion is to wear shorts under your shirts so don't feel so exposed," she explained.
"You think that's a good idea?"
"Uh-huh, Rizzo did it all the time when were in the 7th grade, I did it too when I was younger. My daddy always told me to because boys were gross," she explained.
"Heh, they are," Y/n agreed. There was one boy that she could never think that about and that was Danny Zuko, he was something she couldn't explain.
"Hey, Y/n are you all right?" Frenchie asked, noticing Y/n dozing off into space.
"Uh, oh yeah, Frenchie, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? You were all up in the clouds," she explained. Y/n only nodded before glancing at the bleachers where Danny was staring at her. She gave him a wave and soft smile before continuing down the path with Frenchie.
Danny watched until they were out of view, "She's just...too good for me."
"Huh?" Kenickie, Doody, Soony, and Putzie exclaimed.
"What do you mean she's too good for ya?" Doody asked confused.
"Y/n is...Y/n and I'm...me, she's too good for me."
"That's why you make her worse!" Soony concluded.
"No," Kenickie shoved him slightly. "Danny, you and I have been friends for a long time. Y/n, she's the best for you, believe me!"
"I do, I really do but she'll never say yes to a date with me."
"Well, you never know until you ask her," Putzie pointed out. Danny glanced back in the direction where Y/n and Frenchie had left,
"You know what, you're right!" he smiled, "I got this!'
"Yeah, you do!" Kenickie encouraged as Danny headed down the bleachers. There is one spot where they would be and that's with the other Pinks. He came up to them,
"Hey, ladies," he said as nonchalantly as he could. Stuffing his hands in his pockets; Y/n glanced up a smiled,
"Hey, Danny, what's up?" Marty asked, Danny shrugged.
"Nothing much; hey, Y/n, can I talk to you?"
"Sure, what about?"
"Um...it's more of a just you and me conversation, if that's alright," she nodded and followed him away from the lunch tables. Danny spun around to face her,
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. I uh...wanted to ask if you would like to go and get a bite with me tonight?"
"Like a date?"
"If that's what you want then sure, why not?" Y/n paused for a moment; Danny felt like he was sweating buckets.
"Sure," she smiled. Danny almost let out a sigh of relief when Y/n put her hand up, "You have to meet my parents first, is that okay?" Danny glanced over and saw that no one was watching so he nodded,
"Yeah, that's okay. I pick you up at five?"
"See you," she began to walk away.
"See ya," he whispered under his breath. When she was out of ear shot, he screamed to the sky. Kenickie, Doody, Soony, and Putzie emerged from their hiding places. Kenickie slightly lifted Danny off his feet.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny stood outside Y/n's house; he knocked a few times before the door opened. A woman that looked a lot like Y/n but older opened the door, "You must be Danny, come in," she greeted. The woman let Danny in the house as he looked around, "Y/n, your date is here!"
"One moment!" Y/n called from upstairs, Danny turned and was now facing her father.
Alright, Danny don't mess this up.
"Hi, Mr. L/n, I'm Danny Zuko."
"I've heard about you, you're taking my daughter out, where?"
"Well, I was hoping that we could go to the diner in town and catch a movie at the drive-in." The older man nodded before speaking,
"Bring her home no later than midnight, understand?"
"Yes, sir."
"No funny business!"
"Yes, sir."
Y/n emerged from upstairs, "Dad, stop scaring him." Danny turned around and he felt his jaw drop, Y/n was wearing jeans with a long-sleeved blouse.
"Are you ready?" Danny asked, feeling the glares of her father behind his back.
"Uh-huh," she followed him out the house.
"Use protection!" her mother yelled, causing Y/n to blush in embarrassment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny and Y/n were at the movies; the diner was a bit packed but nice since Danny and Y/n were up at the top and no one else was.
Danny had his arm wrapped around Y/n's shoulders; she leaned her head against his shoulder. "Danny," she whispered. "I had a lot of fun tonight," he smiled.
"I did too, baby," he turned towards her. He paused glancing down, her breast right at the best angle. Danny soon felt his jacket being tugged on as his lips were met with Y/n's. "Fuck, Y/n."
"Danny," she whispered.
Y/n tugged on Danny's shirt; he quickly tore it off his body throwing it in the back. He ran his hand down her chest to the rim of her shirt, pulling it over her head.
"Do you have a condom?"
"Uh-huh," his voice muffled against her mouth as he continued to pull at her clothes. "Baby, let me see," he groaned. He pulled away, her hair was disheveled; he glanced down pulling at her bra, managing to unclasp the back and pull it off her.
"Danny," she whispered. He glanced up, seeing the nervousness across her face.
"Don't worry, Baby, nothing is going to happen, promise," he kissed her cheek.
He tugged on his jeans while simultaneously kicking off his shoes. Danny lifted her hips, so he rubbed against her, she moaned, gripping his shoulders as her nails dug into them.
"Baby, you're driving me crazy," he moaned as he slipped the condom on and shoved himself into her.
"Danny!"
"Fuck, fuck," he hit her neck trying to silence himself which caused her to moan more. He thrusts began to pick up as Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him back into a harsh kiss. "you're so beautiful," he moaned. "Fuck, Y/n, I love you."
"I love you too, Danny," he looked up at her. He smirked leaning his head against her shoulder and continued to thrust into her. "I need you," she whispered.
"You can have me, have all of me."
"Y/n," he groaned as seed filled the condom. She whined as he pulled out, "Let me help." She nodded as he tossed the condom out the window and lifted Y/n's legs, so her vagina met his face. "You sure you want to do this?"
"Yes," she agreed.
"Okay, if it gets too much just say stop, okay?" she nodded. Danny shoved himself in, Y/n screamed in delight as his lips met her. His tongue did its magic, swirling and teasing her until she came undone,
"Danny I... I can't," she moaned. He continued faster and harder until she came against his face. He whipped it away with a napkin before pressing his lips against hers.
"Baby, you're one of a kind," he chuckled.
Y/n glanced at the clock on the dashboard, "Danny, I have to get home, it's getting late."
"Sure, baby, sure," he shoved his clothes back on and helped her back into hers before starting the car and heading out of the drive-in. "I had a really nice time tonight," he confessed.
"I did too," Y/n paused as Danny pulled into her driveway. " She glanced back at him before placing a kiss on his cheek, "Bye."
"Bye, see you."
"See you."
Y/n quickly rushed back into the house as Danny drove out of the driveway with a big smile on his face.
