Baizhu’s Room

(note: this was written without any leaked spoilers or lore in mind)

Genshin 3.6 finally gave us access to the back room in Bubu Pharmacy, in anticipation of Baizhu’s upcoming release and story quest. And I have to give all the praise to the designers and developers here, because this small room has some of the best environmental storytelling I’ve seen in a game in a while, with only a few simple details. Today is Baizhu’s birthday, so I wanted to talk about it a little 💚🐍🌿

Nothing in this room is neatly in its place. The chairs aren’t in position, everything on the desk is messy and strewn about, and some of the drawers are left open. There’s a pillow on the desk, as well. Baizhu is quite frail and sickly, so this all paints a picture of him constantly looking for things and working, both as a doctor and frantically on his research into immortality, without having the energy or care to keep everything neat, and probably often falling asleep at his desk out of exhaustion (hence the pillow, though admittedly it could be for Changsheng, but I kind of doubt it).

There’s medicine on the bedside tables, which is probably just as much for Baizhu as it (and all the other medicine in the room) is for his patients. The bedside chair indicates he likely sits with patients there a lot so as to be as comforting as possible, but again, it’s also likely for people like Gui and Qiqi, when Baizhu is the one in bed. The sole small washtub thing stuck in the corner behind the screen... just makes me sad. I don’t know why in particular... it just does.

All of this, combined with the lighting, and the new, unique song, creates a room that manages to feel both warm and welcoming during the day, but solemn, lonely, almost suffocating, and unbearably sad at night, completely befitting the person who practically lives here, and the two very different sides he has. I say “practically”, but we have no indication so far that Baizhu actually does live anywhere else -- with his low energy and poor health, and all those damn steps leading up to the pharmacy, I’m fully convinced now that he does live here full-time, after seeing the state of it, which is... heartbreaking. He puts on a smile for everyone around him who are relying on him to care for them (and he loves his job, he truly does!), but his tiny, cramped patient room seemingly doubles as his living space, and even though Baizhu may lie and try to hide his own suffering... this room itself does not lie, and said suffering is bleeding from every corner here. The music is elegant, gentle, comforting, and soothing, but also delicate, weak, mournful, and again unimaginably lonely...... just like Baizhu. 💔

If you haven’t been here yet in the game, I highly recommend you visit it at least once; the atmosphere is simply unmatched. I can’t wait to see what happens here in Baizhu’s story quest, and how it will wreck our hearts even more 💚💔

What about a finch!creator? Qiqi really wants a pet finch so maybe creator decides to humor her and help her out. When baizhu comes to the pharmacy next time, he sees a little bird carrying around prescriptions and smaller herbs for qiqi.

Yenfei has to seek help for a legal case and is met with a bird as qiqi has gone out to collect herbs and Baizhu is helping another patient. Stuff like that

Being a finch wasn’t too bad. Meals were bigger. That’s a plus.

And also the fact that you had been adopted by Qiqi and Baizhu. Probably also that.

When you finally figured out your whole… situation. Your first genuine thought was ‘What bird am I?’

Unfortunately you were not a bird specialist.

so you ended up staring into a puddle for little over an hour.

That was until a certain light blue haired girl appeared behind you.

“… A nice little finch.”

Welp. There’s your answer.

And from that day forward, you were the second animal companion to the Bubu Pharmacy.

If you weren’t following Qiqi around in order to make sure she didn’t get lost or forget her current objectives, you’d be retrieving herbs Baizhu. Hell, you’d been fitted with your own little bird pack on your back for safer keeping.

Something you weren’t expecting however, was Qiqi wrapping a talisman with the same symbol as hers around your neck, muttering about it being for protection.

And you certainly weren’t expecting to freeze a random guy when he startled you.

Oops.

Well no matter, you were officially the messenger bird of Bubu pharmacy. And you loved it.

“I wasn’t expecting a… finch?” Yanfei wondered. All she asked for was a quick statement in terms of a medicine from

out of nation. For a rather… idiotic case. But it was a case none the less.

You puffed up at her disrespect, but still gently pulled at the pouch on your leg. Pulling out a parchment that was the statement, you put it on her desk, looked her up and down, then flew away once more.

“Oh! Uhm… thank you!(?)” Yeah, she was not expecting a finch.

But hes sure also very happy. At first he was worried, you could hurt her or play around with her forgetfull mind. But you didn't, you helped even more and then he was relieved. What a relief no he doesn't have to poison you---

Hes even prouer when qiqi seemed to have thought you some things about herbs. It was for sure a accident she did but now you can even help around in Bubu pharmacy with little to no struggle

Snow always means different things to different people. Some spend snowy days outside, having fun with others, or perhaps just trying to get to work through all the snow. Others spend the days cuddled up inside, wrapped in warm blankets and sweaters with a mug of their preferred warm drink.

Such is the way things are in Teyvat as well. When windows cloud with frost and the ground turns an enchanting, glittering white, all of the beings of Teyvat have their ways of spending their time during the cold seasons.

But when the Creator themself comes to live amongst their creations, who knows what will happen?

The ending of the year tends to bring cold weather and biting winds to most places, and with it comes warmer clothes and festive fashions. Heavy coats, elegant scarves, and cute mittens are put on display in shop windows, inviting passersby to partake in a bit of Holiday Shopping. And who would Your most loyal followers be if they didn't take You shopping? It would be a travesty! This totally isn't an excuse to spoil you or see you in the latest wintery fashions, parish the thought. They buy you anything that catches your eye.

Ah, but while some are playing, others are hard at work, putting up decorations and making everything look beautiful! Some are on the roof, some are on ladders, and some lucky folks can use unique abilities and equipment to avoid the usual struggles. And of course, there are also those on the ground giving orders and suggestions. You know, to avoid the hassle of climbing up and down over and over again to make sure everything looks right.

Finally, when it's time to go inside to warm up, there are several people who have been Cooking and Making Warm Drinks. Tea, hot chocolate, cookies and biscuits, all sorts of tasty treats and drinks! The smell of baked goods and tasty food permeates the air, and thankfully, everything was planned and timed perfectly so that everyone could enjoy something delicious when they came inside.

While playing in the snow is definitely a lot of fun, there are always those who prefer to spend their time indoors, wrapped in blankets and sweaters with a warm mug and a good book in hand. When you first arrived in Sumeru, the only reason you were there was to find a place of comfort. For the last few years going around every region you could, you weren’t able to find any place that you could find yourself settling down and be safe.

Every region, village, city you could land your feet on, you’d always be greeted in some way, whether it be nice, apprehensive or flat out absolutely rude.

But whenever you’d step by, the inhabitants would already have memorised your name and know you for your erudtion, your knowledge stemming from somewhere that even you didn’t know where it came from.

Passing by Avidya forest, you had stayed for a while in Ghandarva Ville, making some friendships with a few of the forest rangers, the most notable being Collei and Tighnari.

Collei was surely one of the nicest and pleasant person to be around with. Showing around the forest and where to be careful, you had found yourself a soft spot for her, just with some other people you had encountered, such as Sucrose, Qiqi and Ayaka.

Tighnari on the other hand, was slightly the opposite. He was nice– in his own way, and you found it interesting how he had a lot of knowledge about the ecosystem and forest. You weren’t surprised when Akademiya affiliations had sent mails and some of their staff and students to Tighnari himself.

Soon finding some reasonable comfort within the forest, you had decided to stay for a while until you felt the need to leave. Finding an empty room was not really easy– though you did manage to find one eventually.

Around the few months you had spent with the forest rangers in Ghandarva Ville and going out to patrols along with the company of either Collei or Tighnari, you found yourself finding odd feelings around the latter. 

You didn’t dare ask for help because you soon caught the gist of what your feelings meant.

First love.

Would it be the last?

Though with your observing nature, you did find out that he also seemed to have the same feelings towards you. 

And when you both were together, he had asked,

“Where are you from?”

You look at him– and you couldn’t explain the emotion you had in your heart. His eyes blinking at you in curiosity.

You felt yourself faltering.

The reason why you were so reluctant to the question, "Where are you from" was because you were travelling so much that you could no longer call a place your home anymore.

Your voice strained.

“...I don’t know.”

He looks at you, confused.

“You must be from somewhere, at least, no?”

You shake your head. For the love of Celestia, you didn’t know who your parents were anymore. You felt like you had just appeared, and started wandering. You had no recollection of your childhood. Maybe you did have one, but you couldn’t recall anything.

Looking at him, you see him nodding his head in some form of understanding. You’re sure that he doesn’t know why you answered like that. You didn’t know why too.

“Well… you can call this place your home if you’d like.”

You smile in response but you know you wouldn’t be able to call this place your home. You always wandered. And barely had a place to really feel home.

But you think maybe you could call this place your home until you leave.

And for a few months, it was racing towards the end of one year. You wanted to leave to another place.

You didn’t want to leave your first love behind, but something told you that you needed to leave.

Starting off with packing your belongings, you write a note.

Handwritten.

And when the clock struck 00:00, you took your swift leave.

Tighnari felt as if something was missing.

As usual he went on his way to check on you.

But after knocking, he opened the door to find the room empty, clean and a handwritten note on a chair.

To my dearest and first love, Tighnari,

I’ve never said this to you, but I love you. And always will. Though I would’ve stayed, it is in my nature to wander.

You must be wondering, if I felt like I stayed, why did I leave?I’m on a search to find a place I find safe in. A place to really call ‘home’. This was my temporary home– and I also wish it would’ve lasted forever.

I hope you don’t cry reading this– I’m sure you won’t, right? You shouldn’t. Not gonna force you though.

Please remember me too– I won’t forget you as well, you’re always in my memory along with a photo I took when you were sleeping, how cute…

Scara bonding w/ her over their shared inhuman-ness (imagining Scara having met her whilst she had a glamour, but still could detect her nonhumanity and when exposed to the extent of said nonhumanity,, he can feel a little more alive, a little less like an object)

Any of the nonhumans being like "hey, I have a form like that too!!" and bam suddenly there's a pack of creatures strutting down the streets of each and every nation. Morax (allegedly dead) spotted play fighting with the famed Beast. He claims he cannot come back to work The Beast has solely summoned him to hone their beast form. This is a complete lie.

so what am i supposed to call scara if i write about him?? i kept scara as his name because what else am i sposed to do. anyway i haven't done the archon quest yet forgive my transgressions and anything i mightve messed up about him

"Traveler! Traveler, wake up!"

Ugh.

Aether rubs his eyes with one hand, waving his other hand around in hopes of gently batting Paimon away. In his drowsiness, he completely misses.

"Hey, watch where you wave those! And wake up, we have a guest!" His companion says, opting to just shake him rather than uselessly yelling.

With a sour expression, the traveler sits up. "What guest? Who... Is it Hu Tao again? Tell her I can't find customers right now..." He's about to go back to sleep, but a swift kick to his side has him reeling instead. It didn't even hurt that much, not really, but it was unexpected. Paimon isn't big enough to kick him like that, so...

"Wake up. It's not a request."

Blearily blinking up at him, Aether stares up at the familiar blue-clad wanderer.

He can't even begin to imagine how Scara had gotten to Liyue, much less how he'd found out where they'd been sleeping. Hesitantly, he stands up and shakes the sleep off. "Alright, sure. I won't ask how you got here. What's up?"

"So you finally know what's good for you, huh?" That mischievous smirk always seems to find it's way to Scara's face. Before, it would make Aether's skin crawl. Now, he regards it with a fond exasperation. "You're coming with me."

Aether isn't a stranger to being dragged along with whoever decides they want his company, but hearing it from Scara almost gives him whiplash. He dramatically sighs, but he doesn't plan to decline. "Sure, but..." He looks back at the tent, and his many, many irreplaceable things (his bag, a bit of food he'd bought from the markets in Liyue- All that's really irreplaceable there is Paimon.) "It'll take a while for me to pack all of this up."

Paimon pipes in, helpful for once. "Paimon will watch the tent!" She pushes Aether further from the tent, giggling. "Go! Don't leave me for too long, okay?"

Ruffling her hair, Aether grins at her. She bats at his hands, but smiles anyway. "Thanks, Paimon. Where to?"

... ◇ 》

They've been wandering forever. Sure, Aether is a traveler, but he and Paimon take their time. They like to take breaks, despite the fact that he's never even seen paimon use her legs to tire them out.

But apparently, Scara can speedwalk as he sees fit and just doesn't stop.

"Speed it up, slowpoke. I don't have time for you to take forever." Scara turns around, finally stopping in his tracks.

"Scara, hold on!" Aether pants, running his hands through his hair. "Why don't we... Take a break for a minute?"

Scara glares.

Aether puts up his best puppy eyes.

Nobody can resist, not even Scara. He scoffs, but doesn't disagree.

"Fine. Come on."

Scara leads Aether to a lake just a few feet away from them. He sits on the grass, but Aether takes a different approach. He undoes his braid and runs his fingers through long, blonde strands before lowering himself into the water.

It's cold, but he's used to it. Dragonspine had prepared him for any and all cold temperatures long ago.

"What are you doing? I hope you know that you'll have to walk around like a wet dog after this." Scara sneers, but Aether just grins.

"Fine with me!" He knows he might get a cold, but Tighnari is always available for things like that. Baizhu or Qiqi at Bubu Pharmacy as well. He's always well taken care of. "Why don't you come in as well?"

"Eugh, no way. I don't want to get wet, much less sit in that lake with you of all people." He says, turning his nose up.

"Alright. You've offended me for the last time. You're getting in." He climbs out of the water and grabs Scara's arm. Scara tries to shake him off, but it's known well that Aether is a whole lot physically stronger than he looks.

"Get your filthy hands off of me!"

"No way! You hurt my feelings, Scara, you have to make up for it."

"I don't have to make up for anything, you're vile scum! Get off, you'll get me wet!"

Trying to drag Scara in with him, Aether grabs at his sleeves but misses and grabs his side instead. The shriek that comes after has both of them silent and unmoving.

Aether grins evilly.

"Hey, Scara..."

"No!" Scara smacks Aether's hand away from him and scrambles to move away, but Aether's already grabbed his leg and pulled him back before he can stand.

"Scara..~" He says in a teasing, sing-song like voice and Scara pushes his face away with one hand and tries desperately to shove him with the other. "I know what that was, Scara. You can't hide from me..."

"No! Get away from me!" Scara kicks his legs as violently as possible, but Aether is strong and fast and has straddled him before he can even process what happened.

And then Aether shoves his hands underneath the layers of his clothes and they did nothing to protect him in the first place.

"Any last words?"

"I'll kill you!"

Aether rolls his eyes at the empty threat. "I'm sure you will." He squeezes at Scara's sides, and the reaction is immediate.

"NO! I'll seriously kill you- AAGH, STOP!" Scara slams his arms down to his sides, but that does nothing except make the unbearably ticklish feeling worse. He's already cackling, and in an attempt to save his little remaining dignity he tries to shove Aether away. "S-Stohop! Trahaveler- You ahahare soho dead!"

"Ehehe. Look how cute you look! Aww, are you blushing?" Aether completely ignores those threats in favor of saying things he knows will provoke Scara further. He pushes up Scara's shirt and uses all ten fingers to scratch at his lower stomach, cooing at him the whole time. "Awh, aren't you just the cutest lil thing?"

Scara grabs at Aether's wrist and uses all of his strength to push him off, but his effort is wasted. It seems Aether is so determined to tickle him to death that nothing could deter him and Scara hates him for it.

"Stop teheheasing mee!" It sounds like more of a whine than the demand he meant it to be, and combined with the giddy, ticklish feeling he's being forced to endure it makes him flush. He's so embarrassed, he wants the ground to swallow him up. He arches his back and fails as much as possible, but nothing he does lessens that feeling at all and he's going to kill that idiot traveler, he swears he will.

"How can I? Your laugh is just the cutest thing I've ever heard, I can't even," Aether laughs a bit too, hearing Scara laugh for any reason other than someone else's expense just makes him want to stay like this forever. He sounds so... Happy. His laugh is so bright and bouncy and at this point, Aether really can't help it. He lowers his hands to Scara's hips and starts squeezing.

Scara fully squeals and his squirming increases tenfold. "Nononono! Stop, stohohop! N-not there- Nnnhahahh-" He pushes at the ground and he almost squirms a little further away, but again Aether just pulls him back and keeps going. If this keeps up, he's going to actually drop dead before he can kill Aether for daring to do this to him. He just starts smacking where ever he can reach- Aether's arm, or his face, but he's already so weak that it has no effect. "MERCY!! Mercy!!"

It stops.

Aether, still grinning, moves off and sits next to Scara's panting form. "You okay?"

"I will kill you. I will make you wish you'd never been born. Do you understand what I'm saying to you, Traveler? I will end you." He's really just trying to compensate for the embarrassing pleading he'd just done, but if he died, how was he supposed to murder Aether as revenge?

"Right, right. Do you wanna get moving now?"

"No. Let me rest."

Aether smiles at Scara. His eyes are closed, and he looks incredibly pissed off. Aether will accept any form of revenge, because that was so worth it.

He'll make good use of that.

I was wondering if you'd be interested in a request with Baizhu, Kaveh and Pantalone spending their Christmas moments with their s/o!

I know that Baizhu is a busy man, a doctor's job never stops— but I'd like to imagine that his s/o keeps him company through it all, not bothering him, but just being there for him.

As for Pantalone, I can imagine his s/o sitting next to him as he reads through documents related to the bank, silently observing the man with a genuinely loving gaze with hot chocolate set on the side.

As for Kaveh, imagine if his s/o invited him over for Christmas, knowing how insufferable Alhaitham can be, so they (s/o) ask Kaveh to help them out with setting up decorations and packing up presents.

Bonus: I'd love it if they'd say 'thank you' to their s/o, thanking them in general for always being there with them. 😭

Christmas Headcanons with Reader

Baizhu is very busy, so spending time with him is difficult, even during Christmas.

To bring in the holiday spirit, you and Qiqi decorated the pharmacy, but mostly you did the hanging and setting things up while Qiqi watched.

Instead of Coffee, you switched out Baizhus drink with hot chocolate and candy canes to bring a more festive spirit.

You set up a Lil Christmas tree so the two of you could put presents under it leading up to Christmas.

Baizhu did take more breaks than usual, making sure he came home at a reasonable time.

You, Baizhu, and Qiqi watch Christmas movies together, the three of you cuddling on the couch together.

The three of you got matching ugly Christmas sweaters.

"I can't thank you enough my love for the gifts. You have made this holiday season truly special for Qiqi and me"

Pantalone is an extremely busy man. He's always doing paperwork and things for the harbingers.

You didn't go overboard, but you decorated his office with a few different things. A small snowman, two stockings hanging above the fireplace, etc

You turned on Christmas music quietly while he worked, keeping the environment relaxing but festive.

Even when he was home, he still had work to do, but you didn't mind.

As long as you got to curl up next to him on the couch, a cup of hot chocolate in your hand, and a Christmas movie playing in the background, you were okay.

He always had an arm around you, gently stroking your arm as he read through different documents, occasionally looking up at the movie.

You enjoyed moments like this; he always made time to spend with you even if you were busy.

Christmas day was completely work-free for him. Instead, he spent the entire day with you.

You dragged him along as you handed out presents to the other harbingers before you celebrated your own Christmas.

You got him a new pair of gloves as his were starting to get worn.

"You have been nothing but wonderful towards me, even with how busy I have been. Thank you… I love you, Darling."

Kaveh was excited about Christmas, but Alhaitham was not.

He asked you to come over while Alhaitham was gone to decorate and wrap presents. Of course, you said yes.

It was a blast for the two of you. Every inch of their house was covered in Christmas decorations.

You two set up a giant Christmas tree, and every inch of it was covered in ornaments.

The entire time you two were decorating, you had Christmas music blasting, cup after cup of hot chocolate.

Once the house was decorated, you two moved on to wrapping presents. You two trashed the living room, but you managed to wrap everything.

Once you cleaned up, you two moved to the kitchen to bake Christmas cookies.

You and Kaveh were laughing, dancing, and playing around in the kitchen as you baked.

"This has truly been the best Christmas I have ever had. Thank you for everything."

Alhaitham about had a stroke when he walked into the apartment and saw what you two did to it.

chapter seven - an immortals curse

families are always difficult things, especially when expectations are passed down in generations. and that was your case, your family had always taken pride in their history of medicinal past and wanted to keep it that way. thus you had been on the recieving end and expected to take up the same fate. day in and day out, scroll after scroll was handed to you with the expectation of you memerisng it. and eventually you had started being expected to practice all of it. it was a constant cycle.

this, understandably, had left a bitter taste in your mouth and quite contradictory feelings. on one hand, it was your family and your families legacy but on the other you either had no interest to begin with or the intrest had died out over the years. but you were unable to do anything at the moment. and before you knew it you were a full fledged worker in your families pharmacy. it had started of when you were a teenager, helpinga round and running errands but beyond your teengae years you were now expected to do everything your parents did.

you got sick of it, you wanted them off your back and to not be bound to the pharmacy, as cruel as that may sound. so you started looking for other options, perhaps if you got a job somewhere that was in a similar field but was away from your families pharmacy, maybe they would leave you alone. it was your best shot and you certainly weren't going to waste it and as if the archon's blessong was upon you, you found an opportunity.

baizhu had recently been made aware of how swamped with work he had become of recent. sure he had qiqi and his assistant gui, but he thought it was about time for another pair of hands to work under bubu pharmacy. he was hesitant at first but knew it was for the best, aslo thanks to changshengs constant nagging about it. because not only was he swamped with work, his illness seemed to be flairing up more and more frequently and that meant he couldn't tend to his actual jobs that couldn't be passed on to the others.

it was a cruel fate, in his opinion. not only was he granted the illness that constantly plagued him but to add to it he had been inflicted with vampirism among his early days. leaving him with no release from the illness apart from finding an impossible cure. not even his enhanced self-healing from his vampirism soothed it. sometimes he swears it makes it worse, especially when his illness flares up and so does his thirst. at first glance, no-one would second guess his humanity and why would they? he looked very normal compared to some of his kin.

but even so he kept it under wraps, he didn't want to burden others with it and so always kept his small blood packs in his illness room. no-one ever entered without permission. of course he never sunk as low or even entertained the thought of hurting others to quench his thirst, he didn't even let it affect his job. so this curse had become bearable to live with over his years.

he had received a handful of answers to his requests of another physician. he knew he was asking quite a bit, but it was becoming desperate. his current helpers didn't hold the same knowledge or qualifications to help with everything. gui was a herbalist and qiqi was more of a helper so when his illness flared up, alot more people went untreated. and he didn't like knowing that. so once he was satisfied with the amount of responses he began sorting through them. he felt harsh for being so picky but it is what it is.

a soon a pleasent surprise came about. upon seeing your response, it immediately caught his eye. not only were your qualifications impressive and what he was looking for but you were currently employed under a pharmacy that was held with much respect. he knew it was family run and so thought it was safe to assume you were a descendant, which only made you stand out further. the only issue was that he was unsure on hiring you, why were you seeking employment elsewhere? but he knew that wasn't his place to pry and would overlook it in favour of giving you the position if you accepted.

when you had received the letter back, you were estatic. sure it wasn't as far away from this place as possible but it was a start! the letter had detailed that there would be an in-person interview which you weren't that worried about. all you could worry about for know was actually getting there, but you planned on leaving as soon as possible. and besides you may or may not of already saved up money to rent a small residence that was closer to stay in. baizhu was quite surprised when you had shown up practically the next day, more than eager to start.

you passed the interview flawlessly, and that left baizhu with even more confidence in his choice to hire you. and your skills were quite impressive to see in person he would admit, truly living up to your record. and within the first day bubu pharmacy had been inasnely impacted positively by your efforts and the rest of your new co-workers. and not only that but you had also seemed to naturally get along with all of them. maybe baizhu regretted not sending out a request earlier.

you had adjusted very quickly and nicely to your new position at the pharmacy. and you were very surprised when you had first seen the request from the bubu pharmacy, and being accepted felt like a fever dream. and it also seemed to get your family of your back! you had no complaints about any of it. the workload seemed almost easier despite being slightly more, and your co-workers were so much better than working with your family. and not to mention baizhu was quite appealing to you.

time seemed to be passing quicker, they do say time flies when you're having fun. you loved your new position and they loved having you there. but one thing that did shake you a bit was turning up to work and not recieving your usual greeting from baizhu. everyone else did still, but baizhu seemed nowhere to be found. you had ran into gui first and asked him if anything had happened to which he explained. apparently baizhu had meant to tell you but had fallen ill quicker than normal thus being physically unable. after hearing about baizhu's condition you felt very sympathetic towards him. and didn't actually mind the largely increased workload from taking on the jobs he would normally be doing.

you worried about him evey waking hour until he got better. and as soon as he was better you offered to help look after him properly next time. this had shocked him greatly. sure qiqi and gui would bring him food, drink and medicine but no-one actually looked after him but himself. he initially wanted to say no as that would burden you ontop of your increased workload, but after your insistence and his natural compelling instinct to say yes, he allowed it. it did worry him slightly as he would have to time his feeding more as to avoid your discovery but apart from that he saw no issues.

and thus, when he fell ill yet again whenever you weren't doing your job you were helping him properly with his illness. he had to admit having your company made it seem much more bearable, especially when before his only company was changsheng. the only issue was his vampirism but for the majority he had managed to keep it under wraps. however after the period was over he had come to a shocking realisation. he had always felt somewhat indifferent toward you, but after you caring for him so diligently those feelings had grew and grew.

and over time both of you were painfully unaware that the person you harboured feelings toward felt the same way. baizhu had felt that maybe a good starting point was revealing a part of himself that he never told anyone. he felt he could trust you, and with that trust came his initial confession. it shocked you at first but quickly got over it. which surprised yourself and baizhu. to you it was somewhat cool and just another part of the man you were quite hopelessly pining over.

and it seemed his idea was the right move. you two only grew closer after that day. closer and closer until it seemed a swcond confession was on the horizon.

💕Miscellaneous genshin men hcs hehe💕

- Childe has a quilt from home that he sleeps with. It was made my his mama and grandmother to keep him warm, it was a parting gift of sorts from when he joined the fatui. He brings it everywhere, always comforted by the weight of it and the smell of home

- Pantalone is ambidextrous but favors his left hand. He can do those fun tricks where you spin your pen around between your fingers too

- When Kaeya gets super drunk and stumbles on home, he’ll sit on the steps in front of the Adventurers Guild and pet all the stray kitties that wander around by the Cat’s Tail. He’s named them all and likes to cuddle with them while sobering up

- Alhaitham is deaf, he uses those special Sumerian headphones to hear. He uses Sumerian sign language most of the time but does know the teyvat common language’s version of sign as well

- Thoma has sun freckles that come out when he spends lots of time outside <3 ugh what a cutie!! He gets such funny looking tan lines cause his clothes shift around when he works outside. He’s unevenly tanned all summer long

- Gorou cuts all of the tail holes into his own clothes! He takes care of each garment, gently��� carefully cutting and seeing where he needs to. He finds little tasks like that relaxing

- Gorou wags his tail and whines in his sleep, body twitching around and face scrunching up. You know how dogs have dreams and they move around? Gorou does too! And he’s just as cute <3

- Kazuha likes to get drunk and settle down in the squishy sand to watch the ocean waves roll in. He hums a little tune, eyes drooping as he watches the sunset. It doesn’t happen often but it’s a nice way to relax after long bouts of wandering

- Baizhu lovingly packs lunches for Qiqi every morning. Food that won’t spoil while she’s on her herb picking adventures. He leaves notes in her lunch bag too as little reminders to do things during the day, each note takes awhile to write cause his handwriting is so bad. He makes an effort to make sure it’s legible for his beloved daughter

- Any time Kaeya needs Snezhnayan documents translated, he goes to Diluc. And when Diluc needs Abyss script translated, he goes to Kaeya. They have a little mutual agreement to help each other out when needed
