⸢ FURINA'S HAIR: SYMBOLISM ⸥
Tumblr media
OTHER NOTES ➽ My personal interpretation of our beloved archon's design, specifically the way she styled her hair in all forms.
SPOILERS ➽ SPOILERS FOR 4.2 ARCHON QUEST, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
Tumblr media
Focalors, who had pure straight hair. Seamlessly luscious befitting that of the divine.
Focalors, who separated her humanity and divinity, one day seeking that human half for a greater goal.
Focalors, who approached a short-haired Furina that possessed the same raw curiosity for living as Focalors did when she first left her watery form. So young yet so full of life.
Furina, accepting a role at the cost of herself, donning a polished attire that still resembled her human apparel.
Furina, who faced the eager audience that was Fontaine with the same long curls as Focalors, which was unlikely to have grown naturally in such a rushed length of time.
Furina, who paraded a unique haircut, yet you can see where the end of her short hair is, and where the temporary locks start.
Furina, who had shown us in her mental stage the rigorous pursuit of a solution for the prophecy; working with both her true human self and the godly persona she played.
Furina, who, unlike Focalor’s hair, had a distinct cut that’d separate the short thrill of humanity and the long lamentation of an archon.
Furina, who unlike Focalors', was always a figurehead even in design, one who didn’t have the same true divinity as Focalors.
Focalors, who, unlike Furina, didn’t have the pleasure of experiencing the glory of a god to her people nor the amusing titillation of a human.
Focalors, who will forever outgrow her hair until it’s long enough for even the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale to chop it, thus ending her divine run.
Furina, who, unlike Focalors', was able to live out her humanity even when the long tresses of divinity were cut from her hair. Only appearing when assuming a fleeting role as Fontaine’s archon.
Furina, who may now grow her hair at her own pace, not as an artificial divinity, but as a human who yearned for spectacle.
Focalors, who designed her human self in a way that’d allow for Furina to grow, because that’s the one thing she knew she couldn’t fulfill herself, as evidenced by the lengthy tresses that flow behind her before her demise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Focalors, whose hair is unnaturally split into two, might've been the forewarning of her two halves.
Focalors, and her humanity, are differentiated by the consequences of cutting their hair, of cutting their divinity.

remember the valentines quest in ffxiv where those two girls who are in charge of valentines day one who normally wears a suit and the other who normally wears a dress tried essentially swapping apparel out of a sense of obligation but expressed discomfort with it and eventually concluded they didn't have to because (valentines day theme) love for one's preferences is a love as natural as any other. and then the clothing reward from that quest was genderlocked

working on making a uc genetag apparel item mod. i'm new to 3d modeling and there's a lot of clipping and warping at this point, but i'm trying and it's going juuust barely well enough. originally i'd wanted to try this just for the sake of being able to wear sarah's genetag, but now i'm thinking maybe i should integrate it into the vanguard and sysdef quests so the player can get their own

Development Update - July 2023
Tumblr media
Hi everyone, Miyazaki here! We've got some new things to roll out to you this month.
Topics covered:
Companion Codex
Beast expressions
Q1 (2023) Ko-fi Glamour and Companion results
Breeding Demo improvements
More under the cut!
Tumblr media
Beast Expressions
Mythaura's quests--both main story quests as well as side quests--will feature interactions with NPCs. Your lead beast (which you can change at any time) will be engaging with these NPCs in every interaction, and both your beast and the NPC will show up on the screen during dialogue. Their expressions will change depending on choices made during dialogue selection.
These expressions are generated based the code from the Beast Creator. They will not show a beast's Gear, Apparel, or Glamours.
As of now the art team has completed all Specials and Supers for the adult and young Griffin bases!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At a future point, we plan on adding the expressions to the Beast Creator demo. We will announce this feature at a later date.
Tumblr media
Companion Codex
As we've started to accumulate a good number of Companions for Mythaura, including many created thanks to generous Ko-fi and Patreon sponsors, we thought it'd be a good idea to put them all in one place for people to look at. To that end, we've created a Companion Codex page!
Each Companion will have its key information available for viewing, including:
Element
Standard and Radiant colorations
Size (with an average-sized adult Ryu for reference)
Description
Ability to zoom into image
We will be gradually adding more Companions as we finalize their sizes in the back end. When we add them, we'll share them in the #mini-updates channel in the Discord server.
NOTE: We are aware of a visual bug in Firefox when viewing companions. This is a bug in Firefox itself, and we will attempt to find a workaround for Firefox users. In the meantime, we recommend using Google Chrome or Safari to view the Companion Codex page.
Tumblr media
Ko-fi Q1 (2023) Results
Thanks to all who voted on which Glamour and Companion we're moving forward with for Quater 1 (2023)!) The Filigree Moth Companion and Twilight Glamour for adult Hippogriffs will be this quarter's rewards.
We'll be back with the completed artwork for these two in the August dev update!
Tumblr media
Breeding Predictor Improvements
We've made a lot of improvements to the Breeding Predictor this past month!
Speed majorly improved
Specials not layering correctly fixed
Supers are now only inherited when both parents have part of the Specials combo
Added ability to toggle between age when predicting
Made beast code boxes more intuitive to use, such as allowing pasting in place.
Tumblr media
Mythaura v0.19
Creates companion endpoint and page
Adds sizes and default stats to companions
Creates concept of objects & floors in Wild Area
Began tile map editor project, allowing staff to create bespoke floors
Builds out encounter spawn logic and infrastructure
Adds concept of "timeslots" to control when specific encounters can spawn
Refactors back end tools to make changes more safe and clean up code
Fixes issue where battles could not run on Redis queue
Refactors front end dependency injection
Updates the breeding predictor to dramatically increase speed from several seconds to less than a second
Tumblr media
Thank You!
Thanks for sticking through to the end of the post, we always look forward to sharing our month's work with all of you--thank you for taking the time to read. We'll see you around the Discord!

Note
I love Lorwolf but they have to start addressing long-term issues and suggestions. Current long-term bugs... - Broken Achievements (still standing, mirror mirror) - Broken Smelting (4 ore will not smelt when stoked if a gem was smelted prior, can be circumvented by dropping another ore) - Puppy Predictor (does not work with customs, which means you cannot check to see if you want to sex swap) - Icons (panda buns still swapped, green bamboo makes orange, red bamboo makes green) - Dark Overlay (random overlay that prevents further actions until refresh) - Companion Index being inaccurate (features consumed legendaries which have been confirmed will never be added) - Mole Market visual bug (when buying out a section, does not show as bought out until refresh) - "Does Eat Oats" (still encounterable even after quest completion) - Mobile Wolf Bio (cannot edit on mobile) - and probably a lot more Granted, some of these are smaller, and they have been fixing bugs. Gauntlet achievements prevent the final tier from being reached. Custom demo being broken fucks up one of the biggest aspects of the site (breeding). Dark Overlay is such a damn pain in the ass. And then there is the suggestion boards. Pointless. Still cannot sell more than 100 items at a time. Fishing is still the worst profession, but they've obviously been too concerned about cooking. Inability to sort wolves and search wolves in market and breeding. Inability to lock wolves. I wouldn't be surprised if the Murkwood event ends up being a reskinned Icerun event. Different apparel, sure, but the same gauntlet/arena thing. Same milestones, same pricing.

But what made my raincoat so trustworthy that day on the mountain could also, in theory, kill me — or, more likely, kill or sicken any of the thousands of people who live downstream of the manufacturers that make waterproofing chemicals and the landfills where waterproof clothing is incinerated or interred. Outdoor apparel is typically ultraprocessed and treated using perfluoroalkyl and poly-fluoroalkyl substances, a class of water- and stain-resistant “forever chemicals” that are more commonly referred to as PFAS (pronounced “pee-fass”). After decades of work by environmental groups and health advocates, states and retailers are finally banning the sale of textiles that have been treated with the chemicals, which in the outdoor industry often manifest in the form of Gore-Tex membranes or “durable water repellent” treatments. These bans are fast approaching: Beginning in 2025 — less than 12 months from now — California will forbid the sale of most PFAS-treated textiles; New York will restrict them in apparel; and Washington will regulate stain- and waterproofing treatments, with similar regulations pending or approved in a number of other states. Following pressure from activists, the nation’s largest outdoor retailer, REI, also announced last winter that it will ban PFAS in all the textile products and cookware sold in its stores starting fall 2024; Dick’s Sporting Goods will also eliminate PFAS from its brand-name clothing. - - - It is also because of this bond that PFAS are so stubbornly persistent — in the environment, certainly, but also in us. An estimated 98% to 99% of people have traces of PFAS in their bodies. Researchers have found the molecules in breast milk, rainwater, and Antarctica’s snow. We inhale them in dust and drink them in our tap water, and because they look a little like a fatty acid to our bodies, they can cause health problems that we’re only beginning to grasp. So far, PFAS have been linked to kidney and testicular cancer, decreased fertility, elevated cholesterol, weight gain, thyroid disease, the pregnancy complication pre-eclampsia, increased risk of preterm birth and low birth weight, hormone interference, and reduced vaccine response in children.

Silly Headcanons About the Princes as Children
Because I had a long weekend but didn't feel like going to the beach. Daydreaming about mini prince shenanigans is just as fun.
Tumblr media
Jin Grandet
Was extremely frugal when he first arrived at the palace, opting out on extravagant apparel and accessories in favor of more drab and practical outfits.  And he only ate the bare minimum during meals to satisfy his hunger.
Everything changed when his first sugar rush attacked. There was a ball at the palace, and Jin laid his eyes on a marvelous 5-tiered buttercream beauty of a cake. It was love at first sight.
It took three servants, two attempts, and one tall glass of warm milk to knock him out and carry him off to bed. By that point, the top four tiers were demolished and nearby mini desserts gobbled up, and everyone went home that night splattered with bits of frosting and cake crumbles. No one likes to remember that evening.
Chevalier Michel
Started his nickname game when he was first learning to speak and couldn’t properly pronounce all the convoluted extended names of the nobility yet. Who has the lung capacity to say “Duke of Over-the-hill, Earl of Just-By-Yonder, Knight of the Square Table, Personal Aide-de-Camp to the Late-Late King, Stuffy McFeatherPants the Third” anyways?
“Baldy Big Nose” is much more elegant and to the point.
To this day, the nobles make crucially sure to keep track of their nicknames and how they change over the years. It’s a good indication of whether they have fallen out of the prince’s favor.
For example: “Padded Shoulders” probably means you’re safe for now. “Pesky Pupils” means you should consider sending him an expensive gift. “Slithering Maggot” means you need to pack your family and move to Benitoite yesterday.
Clavis Lelouch
Has a soft spot for small animals, so when one unwittingly ends up in one of his traps he does his best to calm it down before releasing it.
If the animal ends up injured, he nurses it back to health before setting it free (or on someone else as another prank). This usually results with him naming the animal and growing attached to it. They become his partners in crime and he relays his grand plans out loud to them like a master and apprentice. These included maps, diagrams, test runs, code names… the whole shebang.
He also liked to sew tiny matching bandanas to tie around his wrist and his animal companion to signal the mission was go!
Usually kept the animal for much longer after it healed. Sariel makes it a point to do routine sweeps of his room and extract any freeloaders.
Leon Dompteur
Found it much easier to stay awake when someone read to him (I think this is actually canon).
Bonus points if they do voices for the characters. That’s a guaranteed spot on the future domestic faction leader’s friend-list.
Used his princely charms to convince people around him to read history books and old memos and other study material to him. Sariel put an end to this when he saw Leon using his puppy dog eyes to pull ministers out of meetings to read to him.
Would seek out Chevalier to read him stories before bed. Had a 50% success rate getting through the door and a 1% chance of voicing the characters.
Yves Kloss
Used to be the pickiest eater, only preferring foods his wet nurse prepared, until he saw Licht and Nokto struggling with their own meals.
Vowed to create a dish that incorporates carrots that the twins would enjoy.  Tried sneaking it into soups, purees, sauces, gravies, juices, and even desserts. Has not yet found success.
Through his quest, the doors to Rhodolite’s exquisite culinary history opened to him and he’s been hooked ever since. Is now the first of the brothers to volunteer to try new dishes.
Needless to say, he spent a lot of time in the palace kitchens. Ended up making friends with the stray cats that frequented the back door and the windowsills, and would feed them exorbitantly. Everyday. And on schedule. Well, you try saying no to those cute hungry faces!
Licht Klein
Liked to pretend he was Nokto to get out of dance practice.
Learned to walk before Nokto, and boy did that make him feel on top of the world. He ran (wobbled) circles around his stationary twin, showed off that he could hop, and even managed to stand on one foot for a solid 4 seconds! This lasted a whole 2 days before Nokto caught up.
Once tried to repay Yves for putting so much effort into cooking foods he’d like. He asked Chevalier for an easy-to-follow cookbook, woke up before the cooks and servants, and holed himself up in the kitchen. By the time preparations for breakfast needed to begin, the cooks walked into a war zone. Broken eggshells and yolks littered the floor, flour and cornmeal and different-colored spices coated all the counters and cabinets, and Licht sat in the middle of the kitchen rocking in place, anxiously flipping through the cookbook. Oh yeah, and the oven was on fire.
Nokto Klein
Liked to pretend he was Licht to get out of sword training.
Hated being called the baby of the family except by Licht.
Always make a beeline for Jin at the parties that Licht couldn’t attend. Jin would pass him the sweets from the high tables Nokto couldn’t reach, then they’d divvy up their bounty and split off before any pesky ministers could poke their noses in their business. Nokto would take his share to Licht and they’d eat them together.
Even more charming than young Leon (he refuses to accept it’s because he’s the baby!) All the servants instantly fall for his bewitching cuteness and boundless charisma and would shower him with little gifts like extra sweets or flowers or piggy-back rides. Nokto never complained, and to be frank this kind of boasted his ego later on in life.
Luke Randolph
Got his hand stuck in the honey jar on multiple occasions.
Got his head stuck in the honey jar on even more occasions.
The fastest tree-climber in all of Rhodolite, even before he reached his full height. He only needed to observe the tree for a few minutes before determining an optimal path based on his weight and limb range while offering minimal damage to the tree.
Of course, this is all a result of years of honey hive heists. Thank goodness he isn’t allergic to bee stings.
Had the sweetest dimples as a child, and whenever an adult passed by him they’d stop in their tracks to give his cheeks a good pinch. Luke couldn’t wait until he outgrew them.
Read the new princes - Part 2 here!

just compiling the little quest blurbs you get for the titans, star bosses, and gym leaders at the beginning of the game. i wish they didn’t disappear when you completed them
GYMS
Cortondo Gym Leader: Katy
(AKA: the Sugarbug)
This Bug-type user is a recommended first stop for anyone considering taking on the Pokemon League. Though sweet as a treat, this baker of bug-themed pastries shows a bold streak in battle.
Artazon Gym Leader: Brassius
(AKA the Verdant Virtuoso)
This Grass-type user and artist is a first stop for many fledgling Trainers. His sculptures of Grass-type Pokemon are as famous as the way he chooses to appear before challengers to his Gym.
Levincia Gym Leader: Iono
(AKA the Supercharged Streamer)
This Electric-type user and hit streamer is adored by the young. Her viewers’ reactions are more important to her than victory in battle, and her Gym Test is one-of-a-kind. Be ready for anything!
Cascarrafa’s Gym Leader: Kofu
(AKA the Surging Chef)
This Water-type user is a good fit for those with battle experience. He is the chef and owner of the Kofu Lounge, and his zeal for helping trainers grow has led him to craft a taxing Gym Test.
Medali Gym Leader: Larry
(AKA the Exceptional Everyman)
This Normal-type user is the middle of the pack when it comes to Gym Leaders. He has a day job helping run the Pokemon League, where he is not the best rated worker. He loves to eat.
Montenerva Gym Leader: Ryme
(AKA the MC of RIP)
This Ghost-type user is among the very greatest. She is a legendary rapper who has performed around the world, and her thrilling live shows rattle the bones with devilish beats and Double Battles.
Alfornada Gym Leader: Tulip
(AKA the Bewitching Beautician)
This Psychic-type user is a real force, even among Gym Leaders. She runs a cosmetics brand, which she also models for, and she aims to be the very best in everything she does- including battle.
Glaseado Gym Leader: Grusha
(AKA the Sub-zero Shredder)
This Ice-type user, once a renowned snowboarder, was forced to retire from the sport due to a grievous injury. His formerly fiery passion now remains locked away behind a thick, icy shell.
TEAM STAR
Giacomo of the Segin Squad
(Boss of Team Star’s Dark crew)
Since he only recently began training Dark-type Pokemon, he’s not too much challenge in battle. He used to be a straitlaced star student, but certain events set him on a very different path.
Mela of the Schedar Squad
(Boss of Team Star’s Fire crew)
Mela believes in solving every problem with force, and she is scarier to face than her Pokemon. But she has charisma and always keeps her word, which has earned her the trust of her allies.
Atticus of the Navi Squad
(Boss of Team Star’s Poison crew)
Atticus is of middling strength among the Team Star bosses. A descendant of ninjas - or so he believes - he likes to dress the part and use fancy speech and poison skills to toy with foes.
Ortega of the Ruchbach Squad
(Boss of Team Star’s Fairy crew)
Said to be the second strongest of Team Star’s bosses. His family owns an apparel brand famed even in Paldea. He constantly looks down on others, perhaps due to his cushy up bringing.
Eri of the Caph Squad
(Boss of Team Star’s Fightung crew)
An extremely dangerous opponent, even among the Team Star bosses. She entered the academy on a sports scholarship. Her towering height helps her unleash powerful wrestling moves.
TITANS
The Stony Cliff Titan
Witnesses claim they’ve seen a giant stone moving on its own in Area Three of the South Providence. And the stone has big swiveling eyestalks?!? Perhaps it’s a Titan camouflaging itself to catch prey.
The Open Sky Titan
Boulders are tumbling down from a mountain in the West Providence’s Area One. Perhaps a Titan wanting to keep the sky all to itself? The climb may be more challenging than the battle.
The Lurking Steel Titan
Miners working in Area Three of the East Providence say something huge burrowing under the ground is the cause of frequent landslides. Whispers abound whether it could be a Titan.
The Quaking Earth Titan
Mysterious quakes keep shaking the Asado Desert. Porto Marinada locals claim they’ve caught glimpses of an unknown creature raging about through the obscuring clouds of sand and dust.
The False Dragon Titan
A highly dangerous Pokemon said to lurk in Casseroya Lake, luring other creatures close and then feeding on them. Appearance unknown, but mouth likely large. Use extreme caution.

The colony is currently at something like $260k out of the $350k needed for the Archonexus quest. It'll probably still take quite a while to hit the threshold, but it's close enough that I'm starting to consider just how to handle it.
Once it hits that point: I get to choose up to five people, five animals, and a few stacks of items. The people keep their apparel/armor, but not their weapons. This all gets shipped to a new map (of my choosing) to start over again, with the research level and other supplies that Yoshiko originally started with. This includes resetting to the starting complement of non-combat mechs. Everything that stays behind joins our ally's society, as payment for the quest assistance.
How I'm thinking I'll handle it:
Only Yoshiko gets banished to the new colony. At this point, she's a broadly capable combat monster of a cyborg, so I expect her alone to trivialize big parts of the early game. I was kinda wrong about making the game too easy if the kids stuck around indefinitely, but keeping them around and resetting to early game difficulty almost definitely would. They'd have the equivalent of a midgame base established within two weeks. Plus, our allies have been good to us, so they should be comfy.
Yoshiko only gets to take animals that she personally can tame/control. This very well might end up being like... one dog.
I wanna pick a map with terrain that's pretty different from the current one. No islands (Biomes! Islands quickly demonstrates why the game doesn't do islands by default) and no harsh challenge starts like a glacier, but something different. Preferably near a few non-hostile civs, because the trading options are awful right now. I'm open to opinions on where to go, but offhand I'm thinking either arid scrubland, a beach, jungle, or a mountain base. A nice change of scenery.
Might use the biosculptor pod to reset Yoshiko to 13 before leaving, just for that true fresh start experience. Yes, this would take like a month in the pod.
Potentially I could change the rules on who she gets to take in during the second and third colonies, but the only real option that occurs to me is lowering the age of people she's allowed to adopt (teenagers are easy mode) or making the third run solo-only.

"Have you looked under the bed?" Ichigo asked, having just stepped out of the bathroom after taking a shower & back into the bedroom, where Orihime was still apparently struggling to find some pieces of her clothing ( the clothing he had helped her get rid of earlier, but he had not exactly been paying attention to where the clothes were being tossed at-- so her bra could be anywhere in the room, really ).
"And what, are we back to calling each other by our surnames now?" He snorted as he sat down on the bed next to her. "Silly." The word wasn't meant as an insult at all, as it was laced with affection and there was a bright smile on his face.
"If your clothes really have gone MISSING, you can just borrow some of mine, no big deal." @ikurosakii
Tumblr media
IF YOU’RE IN LOVE, THEN YOU’RE THE LUCKY ONE. As he immersed himself in the cascade of steaming water, she embarked on a quest within the intimate confines of their shared space. Her diligent pursuit led her beneath the cushions, beneath the bed’s shadow, and through the scattered remnants strewn across the carpet. Yet, the hidden piece of underwear defied discovery, eluding her persistent gaze. “Nothing.” Confessed, a tinge of disappointment attached to her words. “I’ve already looked. It was one of my favorites, and... w-well, you’re right.” A discreet, crimson hue bedecked her cheeks as she admitted defeat. “If you don’t mind, I’ll borrow your hoodie.”
In the hushed bedroom’s ambiance, a semi-nude silhouette elegantly bent to fetch his hoodie, the textile unfolding in her hands like a comforting refuge. She coated herself in its softness, the oversized apparel cocooning her in the familiar embrace of his fragrance. “Thank you, Ichigo.” Whispered appreciatively, her amber focus temporarily diverted towards the partially opened window. A pleasant breeze stirred the curtains, a silent witness to the shared moments within. “You think... no, impossible.” Her tone fluctuated with a hint of skepticism, thoughts trailing off as the notion lingered in the air, echoing against the walls.
THE WAY YOU TOUCH, THE WAY YOU TASTE.

Scoundrel's Folly
So I started off by speaking to Mercer Frey
Tumblr media
who sent me off talk to Gulum-Ei along with the option to talk to Brynolf
Tumblr media
which I did. i then set off to Solitude to met with Gulum-Ei
Tumblr media
Who I then bribed with a stolen case of Firebrand Wine from the Blue Palace
Tumblr media
Upon returning he gave us a little information but not enough so I Proceeded to shadow him to the East Empire Company warehouse
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was upon entering that I realised that when I picked up this days equipment I forgot something rather integral to archery
Tumblr media
arrows.
Tumblr media
Luckily I managed to stealthily swim across the warehouse to where I knew Gulum-Ei would be and avoid most of the guards before entering Brinewater Grotto.
Tumblr media
It was here that I managed to scavenge what arrows I could while allowing Uthgerd, Serana and my Undying Ghost to tank while I took pot shots at the bandits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After fighting through the bandits I confronted Gulum-Ei once more
Tumblr media
Where he confessed that the person who hired him for the Goldenglow estate job was Karliah. I then set off to tell Mercer this information before remembering to go back to pick up the East Empire Shipping map to give to Delvin
Tumblr media
And it was after that alongside ransacking the warehouse for sellable goods I returned to Mercer and ended the quest

When polling please be aware bows and two handed weapons will be included in the right hand poll while crossbows, staffs and shields are in the left. Also I have decided to implement a rule where if an option is chosen twice in a row for the next two polls it will be left out of rotation. This is to help to encourage us to mix up what we do a bit more.
