a dream is a wish your heart makes//open
Hayun did not mean to do step into their dreams. To be fair, she didn’t normally mean to. It was a cruel twist of fate that a person so out of touch with spirituality and her own feelings was a fucking dreamwalker. Hayun was hardly polite, but even she understood this was a violation of someone’s privacy. Someone’s mind was a vulnerable place and she’d be the first to drive her fist in someone’s gut if they did this to her.
She was not even sure why she was inside their head. During her time in the Yuchae, she had learned to control the dreamwalking better. Unfortunately, her volatile personality meant she still accidentally pulled shit like this. She cleared her throat, uncomfortable.
“Sorry about this.”
Her brain had placed them on a small island, surrounded by water. Except, instead of trees, they were surrounded by giant mushrooms. Purple rice plants grew all around them. The sun was boiling and made her worry about heatstroke. Though she knew it was an illusion, she still felt like it hurt.
"This happens sometimes when I’m homesick,” she said, apologetically.

It took 90 days for the fungi to degrade 27 per cent of the plastic tested, and about 140 days to completely break it down, after the samples were exposed to ultraviolet rays or heat.
Chemical engineering professor Ali Abbas, who supervised the research team, said the findings were significant.
"It's the highest degradation rate reported in the literature that we know in the world," the professor said.

People be out here saying "don't get the free plastic bags from the store, just buy reusable ones!" as though my parents haven't been using the same 10 free plastic bags for the past seven years.
Most things are reusable if you have enough determination.
This is a shitpost I support environmentalism and also people who need disposable shit for health reasons I just thought this was funny please don't hate me-

"A survey of 2,000 Americans delved into their sentiments around environmentalism and found that a significant majority—seven in 10—feel they’ve become more ethically responsible as they’ve gotten older (71%).
Over the past year, U.S. adults have also been taking small steps in their everyday lives to do the right thing—such as starting conversations with their loved ones about going green (39%), donating clothing (37%), and purchasing sustainable products (36%).
When it comes to doing their part, other regular habits include avoiding littering (51%), recycling (49%), and using compostable eating materials, like plates and cups (46%).
The poll, sponsored by Chinet, found that, when asked about the businesses and brands they want to support, a majority of Americans said it’s important that they share the same values (73%).
Gen Z (77%) and millennials (82%) were especially likely to say this is the case.
Nearly half of all respondents have stopped supporting or using a brand because their values didn’t align with something they’ve said or done (48%), with the average person leaving five brands behind.
“As part of our 2030 strategy, we are committed to innovating our products to be recyclable, compostable or reusable, in order to help consumers enjoy gatherings knowing they are taking steps toward being more sustainable,” said Chinet brand manager Melissa Rakos.
“Hosts and guests alike shouldn’t worry about sacrificing convenience for sustainability,” she added. “Utilizing products that are made from recycled material and ridding unrecyclable foam items completely is an easy way for people to get started with making these changes in their everyday lives.”
A similar poll of Brits in the UK, found three-quarters of respondents described themselves as greener today than they were a decade ago—with a large majority believing they have a responsibility to live a sustainable lifestyle.
Making greener choices than ever before, 58 percent believe that being environmentally-conscious is a ‘badge of honor’."

genuinely don't understand the polyester craze like maybe it's me but since i've been old enough to choose my own clothes my mom taught me to always check for fiber composition and never get anything that is less than 50% natural fiber, and the few things i got in polyester do make me sweat and itch and i had to stop wearing them at some point, yet everytime i walk into a store most things are polyester or some other synthetic shit like genuinely why do people buy them!!!!!! how do they wear them!!!!!!!

“Abu Dhabi has reduced the use of single-use plastic bags in retail stores by 87 million since the emirate introduced a ban on June 1.
The Environment Agency Abu Dhabi said the reduction is equivalent to half a million bags a day, with the overall use of single-use plastic bags down by more than 90 per cent.
Abu Dhabi banned single-use plastic bags to protect the environment and address the high rate of plastic bag use across the UAE, which is almost four times the global average.
According to figures issued by the World Government Summit in February 2019, 11 billion plastic bags are used in the Emirates each year...
Routine inspections conducted by various governmental organisations revealed that more than 80 per cent of outlets are offering environment-friendly options or charging a fee for reusable plastic shopping bags.
Dr Shaikha Al Dhaheri, secretary general of the agency, said the reduction in the consumption of single-use plastics will also reduce emissions and will help the waste sector divert 80 per cent of municipal solid waste in Abu Dhabi away from landfills.
“The single-use plastic policy in Abu Dhabi addresses the issue of plastic pollutants that leak into the environment and cause damage," she said.
It has also introduced an app called Baadr — named after the Arabic word for "initiate" — that aims to educate, encourage and reward users looking to shift to a more environmentally friendly way of living.
The agency said it is also partnering with 30 private and public entities to develop a recovery system to collect and recover about 8,000 tonnes of plastic bottles over the next five years, which will go directly to the emirate’s recycling sector.
In 2022, more than 30 million plastic bottles were recovered, compared with 7.25 million bottles in 2021, and more than 10 tonnes of plastic is being collected weekly, equal to approximately 850,000 bottles.” -via The National News / UAE, 11/27/22
