I just learned something

As we all know, the health of our planet is a matter of growing concern, and it's up to us to take action and promote environmental awareness in our community. That's why I'm excited to announce the launch of my environmental awareness advocacy campaign.

This campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving and protecting our natural resources. It will also provide individuals in our community with the knowledge and skills they need to protect and improve the environment. Through a series of educational workshops, online learning platforms, community clean-up days, and recycling initiatives, we will engage individuals of all ages and backgrounds in our efforts to promote environmental awareness.

We have a series of initiatives that can help us achieve these goals that I have presented earlier, such which is: One, launch a learning platform about environmental awareness and education, let it be online or fate-to-face, as long as it teaches those who are still clueless about our situation and influence the others to help in saving the world: two, Organizing volunteering activities that help us make the environment a much greener and safer place.

We really thankful to be in this world, thus why we choose to protect and enhance it, thus the creation of this environmental awareness advocacy campaign, we strive for a better world, not only for us, but for our future generations as well. So that humans, animals, and all living things continue to live and thrive in a safe, clean, and beautiful world. By taking action and advocating for environmental awareness, we can make a real difference in our communities. Together, we can protect the natural beauty of our planet and ensure that future generations can enjoy the same clean air and water that we enjoy today. So, I encourage you to join me in this important campaign and be a part of the solution. Thank you.

Day 2 of my STS project on zero waste management! went grocery shopping recently and forgot to bring an eco-bag, well, the paper bags are a bit worn, but not unusable! they would be perfect to reuse for other things, I just need to look around and know what.

December 15th: Quilling

Again I utilize the leftovers of my work into more art. I had varies copies of my risograph print so I cut them into stripes and decided to quill them. I hadn't a lot of experience so I researched some videos and artists.

I began with tubes and moved up my way to the petals as it was the most beginner friendly. Depending on which side I rolled it gave a different appearances. As shown.

The backing piece was scrap card found in a bin in the studio I was working it

I orginally wanted to create two pieces and use them as a borders when exhibiting my art but after a few hours of work, I decided against it. Coincidently it was the perfect size for my handmade book. Some fitting and cutting later. It was finished. I didn't expect it to turn out as well as it did but I was shocked with how much I love it.

Energizing Coffee Salt Scrub

Ingredients:

1 part leftover coffee grounds

1 part table salt

1 part Olive oil

Directions:

Take the leftover grounds from your coffee pot (or take the foil cap off of a used K-cup), and add to a small container. Then, add table salt in equal measure to the coffee grounds. Slowly add the olive oil, stirring with a toothpick or small spoon, until the mixture just congeals.

To apply, take pinches from your container and rub on the skin in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

I finished making a pair of crochet mittens! I wanted them to be warm so I used an old pair of fleece pajama pants as material to line them. Built in is a hole on the front so I can use one finger for my phone without taking them off.

Sometimes you find lost treasures and you just can't believe it. I've made a few jasper, obsidian and carnelian arrowhead pendants in the past that were sourced from Canada by my lovely Father-In-Law, but I found this raw quartz arrowhead at the bottom of an old jewellery box at a flea market in Newark last Monday. I'd initially overlooked it in the first rummage until it caught my eye as I was leaving. It needed some TLC and a thorough sonic cleaning, but I'm thrilled to have repurposed it in my usual arrowhead style with recycled sterling silver wire and salvaged turquoise agate and lava beads reclaimed from broken necklaces. Did you know that in the past some folks believed clear quartz was fossilised ice?
