i totally get how season 5 isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's totally fair and i understand!! however. i just can't relate because this is just so balls to the walls crazy that i am so endlessly entertained

lila stole all of the agreste lore from nathalie and also has been wearing a wig this entire time. felix snapped the entirety of earth away. chloe became the fucking mayor and then had an emotional breakdown sobbing alone when she lost it. kagami and felix having a random cringe (/positive) whirlwind romance like the two sheltered awkward teens they are. adrien and marinette kissing on the steps of a private jet in a dramatic emotional moment. ADRIEN had the coveted chat blanc nightmare in a sandboy adjacent akuma. adrien just is Cursed with endless nightmares now (and rose and juleka????) and lives in a sensory deprivation chamber. marinette knows all the senti lore now and was told via the most theater-kid interpretive perfomance art hallucination ever?????????

and i am LIVING for all of it. i am SO ENTERTAINED.

Did anyone else find it inexplicably hilarious when Lila targeted Nathalie and told her to give her all of Gabriel's secrets. Like yes I know Nathalie was under magical influence, but it was just SO funny seeing her send Lila all those pictures, no questions asked. Girl you literally almost killed yourself trying to keep all this hidden for five whole seasons

Also the sheer variety of the things she sent Lila. "Here's a picture of my boss with a mohawk as a teenager. And here's the dead wife he currently keeps in the basement. These two secrets are of equal standing"

Honestly, even if Marinette had continued to attempt to expose Lila, I doubt it would have worked. Lila is way, WAY too good at improvising ways to trick people. And just pointing out an incongruity in which ear Lila said had Tinnitus is highly unlikely to be enough to bust everything wide open.

See, here’s something I love about Marinette: she ain’t a victim-blamer. She understands why people want to give second chances, why they might believe Lila, why they might try to extend kindness and understanding even to people she doesn’t like. Unfortunately, sometimes that kindness is misplaced and is used as a tool by unscrupulous people. Doesn’t mean that it’s a bad thing to be kind and understanding, just that you have to be alert for those who will take advantage of it.
