If anyone is ever curious, for those who had been paying attention during the ceremony, this was their first introduction to Yuu in my rewrite:
The Dark Mirror, just doing its job: This student is soulless
Yuu, with a deadly saccharine smile: Do you want to try that again?
The Dark Mirror, fearlessly: You have. No soul.
Yuu, murderously: And you. Can be broken.
*Cut to Crowley forcibly removing Yuu from the Dark Mirror, where they were hanging off the frame trying to tip it over*

-Hades Ember by Milo Thatch-
Tumblr media
=
Hades Ember; is a small blue gem that glows like fire or a lost soul, its origins are unknown to those who are not within the personal circle of lord Hades; god of the underworld and souls.
Origins; its beginnings are unknown to Auradon and its people-including its now ex-king; Adam/Beast. But it’s rumored by those of the isle that the ember was created by Hades as a last-ditch effort to keep his powers, only to fail and the ember remained dormant until magic began to leak through the magical barrier around the isle of the lost. If one asked Hades-he would say he always had it.
It is unknown if the kingdom of Auradon and its royalty know of its existence. However-there is no files or recordings of the Ember before the August 2019 “scepter” incident, so it is theorized that the ember was only known to the isle and its people.
According to Hades and Lady Mal; the ember can only be used by those who share blood with hades, are claimed by Hades, or are born with the mark of hades. After acquiring the Ember, Lady Mal was able to use some of her father's powers while holding the Ember-but reported she lost those powers when not in possession of the Ember. Some side effects she reported were her outfit colors and hair color shifting to hold more blue instead of her mother's purple.
Its power is unknown but suggested to be immense since it apparently can overpower the dragon's eye scepter-Maleficents scepter, which until the emergence of the Ember, was only to be defeated by Fairy Godmothers' wand. One would think this ember would be sought after and hoarded by those who seek power-but since the ember cannot be used by those who do not share Hades blood or blessing-it is deemed useless by those who wish to horde such powers.
Its apparent powers are beams of light that feel like fire(according to lady mal) that can drain one of energy or magic to power the ember further. It can give one the powers of Hades, such as super strength, immunity to death, clairvoyance, soul manipulation, seeing the strings of fate and life, Pyrokinesis, super speed, enhanced reflexes, and the ability to summon the hound of the underworld.
According to Lady Mal, only Hades can access the full powers of the Ember, since she-in Hades words-is only half Hades, the Ember cannot do everything for her that it does for him. So it is unknown of the full power of the Ember since Lord Hades does not seem to be willing to do tests for us researchers, but Lady Mal is perfectly willing to show off what she can do with the Ember, thankfully.
There are many things we do not know about Hades Ember, such as its origin(like how it possibly wasn’t created until Hades was arrested and sent to the isle in 1995) and why not even Zeus knew of the ember until recently.
It is a greatly mysterious item that could be akin to the trident of Poseidon or the lightning bolt of Zeus, though it is a wonder that it overwhelms the dragon's eye and the Fairy Godmother's wand.

ProtoCreed Lore (permutation 1) Human-Isu War (part 1)
Hello! This took a lot longer than I was originally expecting, but here is the first part! I had to cut this into pieces as it was very, very, very long in the notes and I know that it looks very ugly to see a multiple blocks of text.
This is a set of links for the last post, the first and updated post and the second link is for the second reblog with the lore tags in the post.
The Tensions Leading to the Human-Isu War
As the pantheons of the Isu were in different parts of the world, they often used portals or teleportation to get around, as most of their organs were outside of their bodies, usually in containers that were significant to the particular Isu. As such, there was a very low chance that the Isu would have their matter displaced, changed, corrupted, or destroyed, however due to Humans (should I be capitalizing Humans? I’m only capitalizing Isu because it looks weird in the font to my eyes, but Humans looks like I’m shouting the word each time) having more bio-mass, they had to create ways to get around the world that supported physical movement.
Boats, planes, hot air balloons, and land traveling animals were the most common and used ways to get around, and while there were animals taught to carry messages and packages, it still took a much longer time for information to be relayed. This exact issue was one of the factors that ended up keeping humans alive during the infection, as people who were sick were often killed on-contact with the virus, as the Isu creator had originally created Redlight to kill a specific set of people and escape without being caught or detected by current technology, which meant that it had to kill the target and also not linger on the body.
Redlight cannot survive without a host, but the host MUST be alive in order for it to take the host over, and Redlight was put into the creator Isu who eventually was overtaken by it and posessed by their own creation.
The friction between the Isu and Humans started when the Isu began to ask human communities, cities, and settlements to bring many people over to their cities--with the addedum that humans would be given a new life, a place to live, and greater opportunities. As there were around 9 million humans still alive and unaffected by the virus, this also meant that it took a very long time for any real information about the deaths from the virus to get out to humans, as most had died along with the Isu, but when it did there was an international outcry.
A great suspicion was brought upon the Isu, and while the information about the Isu who made the virus didn’t get out, many humans saw them as a group of people who were reckless, didn’t value life, and saw humans only as livestock to die for their whims.
(Note: the world at this point was in Pangea form and as thus, the current areas that I’m referring to didn’t exist in this particular form, I’m just referring to the countries and areas that we have a placeholder for now)
Adam and Eve were two humans who had went over to the pantheon in Greece from the country (edited: 016/2023) continent of Africa, were they in turn met with (what later became known as) the Capitoline Trio; Minerva, Juno, and Jupiter. Minerva explained to Adam and Eve, while hiding what they were experimenting, that what had happened was a technology shock that had rebounded across all of their great cities, and thus this was the cause of the virus. She also claimed that the virus was a naturally created one that had come about when making their environments healthy for both the Isu and the humans to cohabitate in, and that while it was a tragedy, it wasn’t done out of malice or intentionally as both sides took heavy losses.
Jupiter claimed that the only reason that there were any survivors of either race was due to the collaboration and cooperation of the Isu and Human survivors that came together to share their knowledge and provide a solution, but convienently left out the fact that it was humans who offered up their bodies to test out the vaccine as well as the fact that the reason so many Isu couldn’t afford to do this was because most didn’t have the physical resistances, as they had a much lower bio-mass than humans and would often die in seconds.
Due to this, the Isu had created a somewhat symbiotic relationship with the humans. Being that humans would donate organs for the research, the Isu created ways to copy and clone human tissue repeatedly and with less cost, then the copied organs with tissue that would survive infection would then be placed into the Isu and human donor. The symbiotic bond caused instant two-way telepathy to form with the humans and Isu, and the Isu shaped their constructs to match their human counterparts. Not only that, but the humans and Isu that were connected were able to heal each other, give out warnings with their own intuition, as well as retrieve the other person from death. It was for this reason exactly that so many Isu (all around ~550 of them) managed to live, as humans had a hardier immune system and through sleep could retrieve a dying Isu--whereas the Isu could stop a human from dying any time that they felt the person they were linked to failing in health.
However, both Jupiter and Minerva, wished to keep this knowledge a secret, as they didn’t want any more humans to believe that the Isu were behind the massive loss of life and to spark a possible way. They specifically told Juno not to speak to Adam and Eve, and made sure that any time she was allowed to speak that it was about irrelevant information. Infuriated by this, Juno, who was an Isu supremecist, decided to get petty revenge. While she wasn’t foolish enough to allow Adam and Eve to learn about the virus, she wanted to prove to them that it was due to Isu technology that a cure was created and that the two races were able to survive the catastrophe. Juno gave Adam a small device that would allow him to record footage and would follow them from a close distance behind, and could wrap around his wrist so they could hide it while traversing through the city. To Eve, Juno gave a shard of a PoE that eventually became one of Desmond’s apples, in order to understand any of the Isu language that she came across, would provide an Isu database, and explain any questions as a guide. At this point, PoE were only code that  was placed into firmware, and as such there was no sentience to any of them.
Adam and Eve parkoured around the city, recording the slavery that was hidden in the factories, humans having their organs taken out and placed into Isu bodies, as well as corpses (both human and Isu) being liquefied into the ‘caskets’. After seeing this evidence, Adam and Eve left the area that had been provided for them to live in, in fear that the Trio would also kill or enslave them.
They fled further into the city to where livestock and agriculture took place, finding more human slaves and Isu who were same class, tending to creating food and produce. While they found that there were Isu that did believe humans were lesser, the ones that worked with the land had many varying opinions, as many only survived due to their symbiotic relationship with humans. At large, many humans and Isu didn’t know what was going on in the higher scientific community, as it was all kept very classified and any information was only released when it was ready for them to show to the public.
Adam and Eve too had conflicting opinions, as Eve believed that humans should cut contact with the Isu and warn them away from merging their societies further, whereas Adam believed that it was something worth salvaging and that things could still be mended. However, they both agreed that bringing this information back to start a war was a bad idea, as most of the Isu that survived didn’t necessarily share Juno’s opinions on humans.
Adam and Eve then went further in to a remote research facility that was away from any of the communities. The only reason that Adam and Eve had found it was due to the pair sighting a janitorial worker disposing of a corpse via a large hole in the ground. When the duo went to see what the corpse was doing there, they found some of those that were killed during the virus infection. However, as both the shard and the device Adam had had the information about the virus, they quickly warned the pair against any further actions, as it would be hazardous to their health.
Adam was going to smash the device and Eve was inclined to destroy her shard, but it was able to negotiate a compromise between the two of them by sharing that it knew where they could find more information about the corpses, as well as a great deal of information that wasn’t shared with the general public that they could bring home. Wary and distrustful of the technology they carried with them, Adam and Eve agreed to find out more, but threatened that if they were being lead astray, they would destroy the shard and take their own copy of the records without the device.
They found their way into the facility and discovered that the Isu at this particular facility was using the corpses infected with the virus to create beings that were a fusion of both races of the dead, and then further mixing the DNA with that of animals to create something entirely new.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Horrified by what they’d found by far, Adam and Eve returned to the Capitoline Trio’s base only to give back the shard and device to Juno, who wished to know if they had been ‘enlightened’ to the truth of Isu supremacy. While Adam and Eve agreed that they had been ‘enlightened’, they refused to engage in any further conversation with her, which irritated Juno. Wanting them to leave as soon as possible, both because she considered them rude and because she didn’t want them to tell anyone that she’d given them technology that was meant to be kept from most humans and Isu at large, she arranged for them to be transported to their destination using teleportation.
While this was a success, this only further led to Adam and Eve distrusting the Isu as a whole, as they didn’t use this technology to inform everyone else in the world what was going on with the virus. With new information and thoroughly enraged, Adam and Eve went back to their embassy with the intention of starting a war.

Sonia redesign + Zelda (ancient)
she is the one to seal ganondorf in an intentionally cruel way to take revenge for him killing rauru
she also had a daughter from a previous marriage that she named Zelda after an ancient legend from long forgotten times; while she technically had both time and light powers, she could only take ahold of one (struggeling to grasp a certain power you are pressured to awaken reference ;) ) which is time, it was not the one she was supposed to manifest as her status was always associated with light, in her younger years she was often looked down upon but despite that later proved to be a capable leader
shortly after her first marriage was ended rauru and the rest of the remaining sonau (engl zonai) came from the underground to warn the folks living on the surface from a great evil that was told about in ancient texts they had found while mining desperately for the stones they had grown reliant on for survival
this warning later evolves into the plan to seal ganondorf away before he could even become a threat, through all those discussion and planning sonia and rauru grew closer and eventually married; the plan was to be executed in secret to give ganondorf no time to even consider to reveal what demon they believed he really was, but the secret got out and ganondorf enacted a counterattack in the form of stealing one of the enigma stones in order to put pressure on the hyrulian kingdom, but he gets betrayed by the gerudo that will be their sage in the last confrontation, however in the time that the gerudo sage takes to warn sonia and mobilize to save rauru ganondorf has already confronted him and though he did not plan to kill him he does so, more on accident really, as rauru did not listen to a single word he said but instead acted erratic like a helpless man trapped in a cage with a hungry bear, essentially starting a fight of life and death
when sonia arrives at the scene it is already to late; thanks to the enigma stone ganondorf can escape her grief-striken rage but sonia is out for revenge and sees him killing rauru as proof of the warnings of old, she wages war and at the end seals ganondorf in a cruel cage between life and death, even at the cost of her own life
her daughter, having witnessed it all, grows up bitter and determined to make hyrule a kingdom that will never fall again

THE CHANGELING BROTHERS 🗣🗣🗣
Some design notes under cut:
In mythology, changelings are humanoid creatures that have been placed by fae (broad generalized term) in place of a human child, though there are also some stories here and there of adults being taken and replaced by changelings.
Changelings, based on my limited research, only really refer to the creature left behind during some good ol cradle robbing. They are related to the fae, though. Fae, or faeries, cover a broad range of different creatures in all sorts of European mythos, however, from elves to trolls to imps. In more modern art and stories, fae are drawn as tiny little humans with bug-like wings and long, flowing hair. But there have been less flattering depictions throughout history.
Taking the origin of the mythos, and the obvious bug inspiration in the show, I've decided to redesign these two to look like impish little sprites! Changelings in my AU are smaller than the average pony, usually reaching their chin or shoulders. They have thin, flexible bodies that are protected by an exoskeleton! Their jaws are an odd mix of mammalian and insect, so they can expand and protrude their lower jaws while their upper jaw stays fixed to their skull. Their tongues are thin, based on nectar-drinking bugs and animals like butterflies and hummingbirds.
Most changelings have two wings, only Pharynx and Thorax have four wings (reformed form only.)
Pharynx is also a bit taller than the average changeling drone... Have fun imagining how tall Thorax is. Height chart coming eventually.
Their tails are loosely based on a scorpion's stinger, but I took more inspiration from cartoony imp/devil tails in art and cartoons! 😇

Note
you should talk about your thoughts on rw fanon (looking with huge eyes)
Oh god, there's a lot of major misconceptions have concreted into fanon, mostly around ancient society and ascension.
First things first! Ascension is not death! They are entirely separate things treated entirely separately by the text of the game. I can see where the interpretation is coming from, but it doesn't really align with how the text treats either subject. Five Pebbles may want to remove the self destruction taboo, but from his reaction to the rot it's clear that he doesn't want to die. Conflation of ascension and death only comes up as an offhand possibility that pebbs makes on iterator 4chan, when he's going into the possibilities of scenarios that even the other sliverists are doubtful of! (let me make clear that I am not a sliverist by any means)
Ascension is more of talked about as a form of transcendence, yeah? A Bell, Eighteen Amber Beads talks about their sitution as being "To have grasped at the boundless infinites of the cosmic void…", not as them seeking an end to life.
The beta dialogue goes into more detail, mentioning the "infinities of time and space" and the "boundless fractal planes of spirit and reality...", though this dialogue was cut and it's hard to tell how much it reflects the concept as in the released game.
As for the cultural misconceptions... there's A Lot to talk about, but the first that comes to mind is the common conflation of the five natural urges and the christian concept of sin.
It is true that the negation of urges is mentioned by moon as an alternative method of ascension, but much of what we know about the culture of the people who the fandom calls the ancients (which makes discussion of the depths a mess but that's something for another post entirely) points towards the urges not being seen as shameful.
Even the first urge does not seem to be particularly scorned! Being a warrior is presented as a cause for bragging in the Shaded Citadel pearl, being comparable with being an artist and a fashion legend. The second urge, also does not seem to be suppressed. Multiple sources attribute some level of honour to parenthood! The aforementioned pearl also mentions Seventeen Axes, Fifteen Spoked Wheel as being a "Mother, Father and Spouse" without any hint of shamefulness. Nineteen Spades, Endless Reflections expresses pride about having progeny, mentioning it alongside their owned land and esteem among their peers.
After some peer review, an esteemed friend has told me to add a section on purposed organisms as well! This is not so much my area, so I might be a bit off on some things.
As moon says, the majority of purposed organisms were tubes in boxes, and that the primal fauna of the world are almost entirely extinct. A lot of the fandom seems to ignore the first part, and i can't say I blame them, but the evolution of the creatures is so much weirder than people think.
Concept art for the creatures has this interesting quality to it, where the organic parts of the creatures have an almost... melty quality to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the concept art, the flesh appears as if it's almost defying the machinery to form an animal shape. It's as if it's conquering its own artificiality the way the foliage grows over the (stone, brick and concrete, not mostly metal as some think!) ruins.
Of course, it's hard to really tell how much of this reflects the finalised concept, most of the integration is much smoother in the game, in line with a seamless kind of biomechanical design. There was always an intention of biomechanical strangeness, as shown in this screenshot of the devlog before the term "slugcat" even existed!
Tumblr media
That said, the melty nature of the concept art shows a level of wild change inherent the biomechanical nature of the creatures, as if they truly are the result of these "tubes in boxes" almost revolting against their own boxes.
and considering centipedes... some tubes may not have had boxes in the first place!

Unsolicited Scrapbook
Listen, if it'd been your first time in front of a good mirror in quite a bit of time, and you'd gone through some pretty messed up shit, you'd be in an introspective mood too.
Or better yet, Yuu catches sight of their reflection and well, reflects.
Warning: Gore, graphic description of wounds, description of violence (enough to get the idea of how those wounds were formed), descriptions of scars and scarring. If it relates to scars and/or wounds and you can be triggered by it, it's probably in here.
A/N: This was one of the first ideas I came up with for this rewrite au. Not this scene exactly, but this concept. This is a game about villains. This is a game that has so much potential to cover dark material. I. Want. Consequences. This is the result. Enjoy.
Admittedly, it was... well it was a lot.
They hadn't truly been faced with this problem before, with the busted mirrors around the dorm that they haven't found the spare change to replace. And it's just been getting so cold that even the thought of running around in anything considered short sends shivers down their spine. So for one reason or another, they've gone half a school year, a whole semester, and now four overblots, without ever having to see a ton of their skin at once.
But now they're at the Scarabia dorm, in this bone-melting heat, faced with a literal wall of gold polished so well it's more reflective than the Dark Mirror, and they'd sooner eat Grimm's tail fire with a side of his fancy cat tuna than even attempt to slip on anything resembling a sleeve.
And they've somehow gone half a school year, a whole semester, and now four overblots without having to face the fact that this was a lot of scarring.
The newest one is, obviously, the worst. Objectively speaking. It's barely scabbed over, still raw and red and swollen, still throbbing, still hot to the touch. Four deep puncture wounds surround their right shoulder, the viper's fangs leaving a perfect imprint of its jaws. Surprisingly enough, this was the only wound an overblotted student had given them that didn't require a trip to the infirmary. The inky venom in their veins had disappeared the moment the overblot was defeated, and most students from the Scalding Sands know how to treat snake bites.
Kalim was very insistent he patch them up personally. He also insisted they let the wound be exposed to the water of the oasis, hence why they've removed his very professional wrap job.
And if seeing the physical evidence of what he did humbles Jamil even the tiniest amount, well they aren't going to complain about that.
At least they look a bit more balanced now with Jamil's contribution to the collection of scars they're beginning to possess. Before the winter break, a small part of them had felt a bit lopsided. True, the scars from Leona's Unique Magic had drastically decreased from their original size right after his overblot. But the patch of lightning strike scars cracking along the skin of their left shoulder and upper arm messed with their overall symmetry. At least now there was something on either side of their neck, although the part of them that seems to care about this (like seriously why does this matter scars are bad things to have wtf brain) will have to ignore the difference in size.
(That'd go over well. 'Hey, Jamil I need you to make your hair do the inky viper thing again and bite me some more so my scars are more equal in size'. Mentally scar the poor guy some more why don't you Yuu.)
The scar that surprises them is the necklace of circles that, well, encircle their throat. The bruising after their fight with Azul had been gnarly, splotches of deep purples and blues mixed with sickly yellows and greens. Deep indents in the shape of octopi suckers among the clear shape of tentacles wrapped around their throats encouraged the early emergence of turtlenecks and scarves into their wardrobe. By the time the bruising had begun to disappear, they'd genuinely needed to cover their neck to fight off the cold, so this is the first time they'd gotten a good look at their neck in a long while.
Hmm. Maybe it's a good thing that Azul's attempt to strangle them left a scar in such a visible place. Maybe next time Azul tries to pull some shady business, they'll rock up to the Mostro Lounge in something low-cut.
Sevens knows Leona only became so cooperative (if you can call it that) during that whole Octavinille debacle because he got an eyeful of all the bandages they were still required to wear lest Professor Crewel literally whip them for disobedience.
Although, if they're being honest, there is one scar they are dreading for people to see. Everyone knows about the other three, at least everyone at the oasis knows about all three. The bandages were too hard to hide, and they all witnessed what happened with Jamil. But they've managed to hide the two scars on their left thigh ever since their first week in this world.
The thing about entry and exit wounds, is they don't scar like you would expect. You would think they'd scar over fairly flat, but they don't. They don't ever fill in correctly, your skin remembers the folding in on itself that it has to do when something pierces it, and your skin remembers exploding outward when something exits it. But the wounds where Riddle's thorn had staked their thigh and left a hollow straight through their leg had easily been covered by pants all year. Only those who had been there for that battle had seen the true damage done by the enraged Roseheart.
But unlike everyone else who they have helped overcome an Overblot, Yuu has watched Riddle Rosehearts actively try to change his ways, learn from his mistakes, and take some personal accountability for the havoc he wreaked. So they kept the scar he gave them hidden, not wanting to remind others, Riddle, or even themself of just how dangerous he could be.
And now, because, again, they'd rather lick Crowley's desk than entertain the thought of pants in this insufferable desert heat, now that scar was going to be on display. They were going to get questions. They were going to have to relive that memory, that phantom pain over and over again.
They were going to have to relive all of those memories again.
The ripping sensation, the heavy feeling of something foreign, the absolute gushing of blood. The dry cracking, the peeling, the flaking apart at the literal seams. The threat of bones snapping, the drowning on dry land, the fear of a lung collapsing. The fire of acid in your veins, the teeth tearing flesh, the invasive screaming in their head.
All of it. Every time someone saw their scars, every time someone asked a stupid question, every time they saw someone else stuck in their own memories of Yuu's scars, they'd be stuck reliving all of that pain again.
With a heavy sigh, already feeling the exhaustion running through their every fiber, they finally drag their eyes away from their own reflection. The first thing they see is Grimm. Looking at them. Looking at their scars. A haunted, faraway look in his eyes.
Well, that settles it. Something must be done about these nuisances. Sooner rather than later.

ProtoCreed Lore (permutation 1)
Hello all! This is the first of the posts coming out within the next few days for the lore of the ProtoCreed Rewrite. If I have to change something later, I’ll add an update label and make the edited text in either a different color or bolded, but for now feel like I’ve spent enough time doing the research and figuring out how things plug together that I can confidently put this piece up.
As for the reason that this says ‘permutation 1′ is because some of the lore is different by permutation, but some have the exact same. As the main story in the rewrite mainly focuses on the first permutation, I thought this would be the best starting point.
The Isu War
The humans and Isu, before the war, didn’t have as much merging of cultures as the humans were more focused on creating their own technology, languages, and traditions while the Isu had already created their own and were currently going through a crisis of power and conflict.
The Isu were warring over people who would gain power in their pantheons, who would be credited with what scientific breakthroughs were created, and what information was considered important to be passed down from generation to generation. While the fighting was intense, it was dangerous for the Isu to strike outright outside of battle arenas and agreed upon duels, as the Isu already had a very slow reproduction process and cycle that ended up taking many decades even for a single Isu baby to be born.
The pantheons tensions and rivalries grew more and more malicious until the very first real act of war was committed; an Isu created a sentient virus in order to kill other Isu that they wanted dead. While it’s a heavily guarded secret of who created the first virus as well as how it was done, truly it no longer matters, as the result was still the same: death of the Isu came in droves.
The Isu, whose population at it’s highest was about 3 million, was quickly devastated with casualties of 257,000 within the very first month, and the Isu that originally created the first virus was killed among the casualties in the first month, taking all knowledge of how to create an immunization any time soon with them. Many Isu, terrified of their babies that were still in their incubation period turned to humankind, their sister race. Humans, at the time, only had a pregnancy time of 5 months and different pantheons came into contact with them in order to use their genes to create their children.
This is also why Minerva says that the Isu ‘created’ the humans, as many Isu used human cells to create their own kind they also used to make more humans that would be born into their societies. Not all Isu believed that humans were slaves, as some changed their cultures around humans to treat them as those who were very important, other pantheons treated them as second class or indentured servants, others used humans outright as slaves, and even rarer still where the Isu that treated humans as equals. Regardless of how the Isu treated the humans, the new introductions of humans to the virus ended up teaching the virus how to adapt as well as how to convert a great deal of biomass into a weapon, and the slaughter only intensified.
By the fifth month into the introduction of the virus, only ~685,750 of Isu from the original Isu were still alive, and of the 9 million humans that had been brought into the Isu culture and cities, only 1.8 million were left. While there were some Isu that managed to escape this war, the number was only around ~550 of them that had never been affected by this virus. However, the humans more interestingly enough were passing down their resistances to their children. Any baby, toddler, or child that managed to survive the virus ended up with resistance to viruses and an incredibly strong immune system, but the children and people having the children that died all had been killed outright due to the virus all had defects, changes to the genome, and growths that were caused by the virus.
The Isu war was immediately called to a halt once the death tally was taken in the fifth month, and the Isu came together to find a solution to the virus. While the Isu were able to come up with using the adamantium and iron phosphorus solution kill and halt the spread of the virus, it was still impossible for the Isu to tell who might’ve been infected and why the virus was getting information on their political and military structures. Again, it was the humans that ended up bailing the Isu out, as they created both weapons and ways to kill the virus without killing the hosts or the environment around them.
With the Isu and the humans working together, they were finally able to stop the spread of the virus, create a vaccine for anyone who managed to survive the initial infection of the virus. The virus was successfully contained, and taken apart over and over again, until it lost most of it’s sentience and people were able to make non-lethal strains for common bone marrow and flesh degradation that came from this war.
During this time of peace, the Isu again decided to play God.
The Human-Isu War
A small number of Isu scientists, notably Minerva who was one of the heads of the project, believed that the best way to increase the way Isu could create more of their race was to take more drastic measures from their previous methods. It was hypothesized that the best way for the Isu to have more children was to put the strain of reproduction on machines rather than their own bodies, golden chests that humans mistook as caskets, (edited 07/14/2023) and later on as ‘arks of the covenant’, were used to create children as well as liquefy dead Isu to use their bodies as material for their new children.

The Isu, also realizing that their bodies died much faster due to the virus and lack of ability to adapt their bodies to the virus, believed that the most effective way to preserve their species was also to get rid of their physical bodies and offload most of their organs to a nearby device, all while using light projections, adamantium phosphorus, and energy to stay present in the physical realm.
Many Isu found this practice to be horrific and unnatural, but two other high profile researchers Juno and Aita, bought into Minerva and the other scientists’ theories and were the first to undergo the process. Aita and Juno managed to survive and other Isu of higher class decided to follow suit, but it was still considered distasteful and disgusting, and Isu that either didn’t believe in the practice began to live closer with humans or didn’t have the means to afford the solution, began to use the humans that were slaves to possess them--in hopes they could also escape such an effect like what happened against the virus.
As more production was called for in Human-Isu society and more children of both races were being created, there was a call for more labor and people to make things. Humans, who already were known for their incredible ability to create from imagination even without resources or materials, were called into do the work.
As different pantheons used different methods in order to inspire people to work, someone discovered that human genomes were even more malleable than they originally believed, and thus they began to experiment on what traits that would be beneficial for physical labor. This was just the beginning of the experimentation on humans that eventually lead to an all-out war of the two races, once the humans found out about what they were doing to them en mass.

I respect everyone coming to the conclusion that Jimmy NOT dying first is the reason the server went to chaos so fast. One of the strongest curses on the server (the only one largely Acknowledged by the players) being broken Had to have an effect right?
I disagree.
The Canary Curse is actually stronger than ever and working Just as intended.
The first player dies. The weakest of the bunch. The one whose lungs can’t stand the smoke like the others in the mine can.
And then? Then more people die. The world implodes around them, mortality catching up and catching up Fast. Chaos breaks out as the ground is torn to bits and people run screaming at every turn.
(There is a REASON it’s called the Canary Curse. There is a reason it isn’t just called Jimmy’s)

The Grand Mages, my version of The Major Fairies in my Winx rewrite.
The reason for the term Mages instead of Major Fairies is that they weren’t all Fairies throughout history and it isn’t a requirement that they be fairies either. The reason for them all being fairies now is that they’re simply the most common group of magic users left on Earth currently after the great scourge of death and purging magical beings experienced on the planet.
The Grand Mages are chosen by The Grand Council, the delegation for magical beings on Earth, which is now on Tír na nÓg presently.
The current Grand Mages are as follows, some with a lot of info (mainly Sybilla) and some with simple brief descriptions, including so e job descriptions, personal histories, believix info and general lore below the cut:)
Nebula, Grand Mage of Peace. Her title is kept all throughout her history, not changed like it is in the series to war, for peace comes as the end goal, and to that with the Grand Mage title, if war is needed to achieve that, then so be it.
She is the second youngest, older than Aurora by about 900 years, born around the year of what we would call 400 CE. She is around the same age as Morgana, only a few years younger.
She would be classified as one of the Picts in the eyes of humans, born in what would later become known as the area of Scotland at the time before the Celts. As I mentioned in my first ask with her, I know there are issues of debated anachronism regarding The Picts and blue war paint, but it fit her color palette and I thought it looked cool on her so we’re going to say it was indeed a thing in this version of history, but as a result of the magical beings there mainly being the ones who utilized it.
As also mentioned in my original ask with her, she doesn’t always use her magic to treat her wounds, taking certain pride in her battle scars, showing them as a way to say “you see? No matter how many times you try to beat me down, I cannot be quashed. You cannot best me, I will always retaliate and I will always come back and so long as I am alive, I will win.”
Aurora is The Grand Mage of The North, a title given to the being who guards the Lovix transformation. She is the youngest of the current Grand Mages, being only 700 years old. It is her job to preside over the domain that Lovix is connected to (the areas of what are labeled as Fennoscandia) for if the connection to the areas the transformations were birthed from is severed or lost, those transformations cannot be accessed anymore. Her dedication, quick wit, and drive to protect and honor the land her master, The Grand Mage of The North before her guarded, is what lead to her being selected as the next one despite her relatively young age when compared to the other magical beings who served under the previous Grand Mage. This retired Grand Mage now lives at the small community that is located in what we would call Northern Sweden in the wilderness that she and the other followers dedicated to this cause call their home. This area acts as their headquarters of sorts.
Aurora is in change of overseeing all areas of Earth’s Northern Hemisphere and doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the energy of the planet and its environment, with her main focus being on guarding that area Lovix is tied to. Her primary way of combatting any serious issues humans intact on the environment and any disruption they cause is through the use of environmental influence, such as extreme cold, blizzards, long winters, early frosts, etc, causing things like famine, poor harvests, or direct death from the elements.
Diana is The Grand Mage of The South, her main location insulated to where she was born in what is referred to as modern day Bolivia. Sophix is connected to what is known today as The Amazon Rainforest, and this area must be protected with regard to the transformation for the same reason as Lovix. Much like Aurora, she is also in charge of doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the nature and environment of the southern hemisphere of Earth’s planet.
A strong warrior and combatant, she has resorted to more direct force as a tactic to deal with the issues humans have been enacting on the planet, doing what she can to still stay as hidden from them as possible while attacking, or leaving no survivors. Her and Nebula are close, a love of sparring and battle strategy being a large basis for what they choose to do in any of the spare time they manage to have together.
She is the second oldest of The Grand Mages.
Sybilla is the oldest of The Grand Mages.
Her wings are present here, but she doesn’t usually have them out, simply not seeing a need to most of the time.
Lady of Justice is the title given by those of the order of Tír na nÓg, and this was the title given to her by many, magical and non magical, even before all magical beings were either sequestered away to there, killed, fled, or managed to blend in with the non magical beings.
She is much more elusive than the other Grand Mages and despite her very present record in that of history, she isn’t one to be easily reached, only deciding herself if it is worth it, answering to no single allegiance, creed, nation, etc. She is included in the category of The Grand Mages mainly by the choosing of the other Mages, and only agrees within her own terms to be accounted for as such.
Parts of magical history intermingle with non magical history in my thing. Her influence is felt in artwork, dress, customs, and tales from Greco-Roman antiquity, and even the time before that, during the eras of The Bronze Age with the Cycladic, Minoan, and Mycenaean civilizations, and then even before that.
Much like the term irl, Sybilla is a term that simply means prophetess and sprung forth to give to the term sybil, those being what they are in our real world tales too. In my thing tho, this term stems from her name first and went on to become synonymous and defined as prophetess.
There were other sybils just like in old stories, these being followers of hers who wanted to act in her stead and honor and provide their services too.
Sybilla is the supreme head though, and is the grand origin for this.
She goes into stasis for longer periods of time so despite being the oldest, turning to stone by choice, this time acting a long sleep for her. When she awakes, it feels like she has only blinked. Sometimes towns would be built around her stony form, alters erected around her, offerings brought, pilgrimages made. And then suddenly, the mortals will see her “statue” is suddenly gone, and when she chooses to rest again, the cycle begins anew. Sometimes new statues are erected where she used to rest, legends telling that it actually is her and not just a statue, others believing it was just a statue put there long ago and someone decided to steal it so a new one must be placed.
There are many of her form in many places for that reason among other, her acting as a type of saint or figure to be kept to watch over places or people or whatever is deemed to need watching, memorabilia of her present in the forms of previously memorials statues, small talisman type objects, her figure on handkerchiefs, tapestries, walls of buildings, etc.
She has a history of intermingling with non magical beings far more than any of the other Grand Mages, even more so than most magical beings in general. With regard to that and her actions, she chooses to sleep when she feels she has done her job for the time being, overseeing and acting as whatever the mortals feel she is during times of great strife, whether that label be as a guide, an oracle, a prophet, or sometimes even a god or goddess.
She also chooses to rest after helping with grand issues with magical affairs too just the same. She awakens when she chooses to, whether that be because something in the ambient energy of the Earth feels off, signaling a great change, she has been sought out by a being, magical or not, that has made a great plea that she deems worthy, or she has decided she simply doesn’t want to rest anymore.
Her form appears through much of human history in the areas of the modern day Mediterranean and she has many stories about her weaved through old long gone told tales and legends, many lost to time, some still present.
Her aging is less visible than on Diana as a result of her sporadic periods of stasis, who has stayed active and present for her whole life, which has resulted in peak milf status.
She has no eyes, having had them voluntarily removed to be fully dedicated to her cause of what she deems proper judgement and action.
