the rape thing is really bothering me too because these were entirely made up claims specifically to further old school cecil rhodes-esque racist propaganda and for so many people who have never once mentioned the sexual degradation, humiliation, and oppression of palestinian women to start calling people rape apologists and be making multi-paragraph posts denouncing sexual violence against ALL women when in fact you only care about this because it’s against white women. and it was really crazy seeing it on radblr because many of these bloggers love to trot out the oppression of middle eastern and african women and especially sexual violence committed against them by middle eastern and african men for rhetorical flair. but when these women are brutalized by settler colonial apartheid forces you don’t have anything at all to say. i can’t keep saying this or thinking about it because it just makes me so sad.

A Gale of Wolves, Chapter 4: Jon
"I think she's come to take back Winterfell, Your Grace," he answered, then dared to add, "just as I think she'll be wanting you to call her Lady Stark."
The king looked doubtful, even as he grasped Jon's meaning. "Lady Stark of Winterfell? A woman as Warden of the North?"
"A woman whose mother rode with her son through every one of his victories," Jon pointed out, though not without feeling the irony of his own admiration for Lady Stark. While she'd lived, her hatred of him had been like the noonday sun: too bright to note any detail of her beyond the outline. Now with her safely dead and gone he could see her more clearly, and in some of King Robb's success he suspected more of the mother's political maneuvering than the son's military brilliance. "A woman who survived King's Landing when stronger men all around her were dropping like flies, including our own father. I haven't seen Sansa since she was a child, Your Grace, but I'd not underestimate her."
"You think the lords will rally to her?" asked Stannis, clearly still skeptical. "They were failed badly by her brother, and she has no call on their loyalty except her maiden's name."
"It's a powerful name, Your Grace. The direwolf has flown its banner over the North for centuries; the Boltons can't wipe out that memory no matter how much blood they spill. If Lyanna Mormont and all the rest of them want a King in the North whose name is Stark, well." He tucked Sansa's message into his breast pocket. "It seems you've found her."
*note: chapters will be posted once a day from April 18 to May 11. Some will be shorter than others, but hopefully this schedule will work for people who a) like to know when they can read the whole thing in one go and b) like to read chapter by chapter as they come.

oh doomed cryptid posse yuri we’re really in it now……
Ali’ikai (Ilima’s mom) and Dahlia (goddess of storms/sea travel) close to before Dahlia got trapped in the bottom of the ocean somewhere 😔
I’ve posted Dahlia like one singular time over on instagram a long time ago when i first made her but i’m pretty sure i haven’t introduced her on here. She and Ali’ikai worked hand in hand a lot due to both being goddesses that delt with the ocean/things to do with the ocean, eventually forming a romantic relationship from when would be considered teenage human years for the gods.
Dahlia would eventually lose control of her powers in her young adult years and the other gods (Artemii, Kemera, Bibi, Khepri, Cara, and an unwilling Ali’ikai) would have to contain her as a last resort as to not have to kill her. Kemera (Mokji’s mom) and Cara (Phemie’s mom) are really the ones who technically finished it, Kemera being able to hold Dahlia still by wrapping her centipede part around her and Cara using magic to transport her to a random point in the bottom of the ocean in an underwater sealed cave 😔
Ali’ikai attempts to kill Cara when she won’t tell her where she sent Dahlia or if she’s even alive but ofc is stopped by the others, she becomes extremely mean and bitter to everyone (god or human) and stays that way until she eventually has Ilima and dies.
