Been thinking about my Saltburn boys and how Farleigh is so obviously a Slytherin but with Oliver and Felix it could almost be any combination? Walk with me…

Slytherin Oliver and Hufflepuff Felix: Felix is a total sweetheart, a cutie patootie, the Cedric Diggory of his generation! Everyone loves him. He’s just so easy to love. Oliver is… well. He’s without a doubt the most knowledgeable student when it comes to the Dark Arts, there’s rumours that he’s a parselmouth and he moves in complete expressionless silence… Needless to say, everyone is shocked at their sudden relationship. How the two of them became close is a total mystery, and witnessing their intimacy feels like watching a legend in the making… but Felix smiles brighter now, and everyone has seen the small smiles Oliver directs at Felix, so you won’t catch anyone complaining.

Ravenclaw Oliver and Gryffindor Felix: Popular, quidditch captain Felix who everyone admires and his bookworm, certified genius boyfriend Oliver. Oliver is the top student in all of his subjects, and that is a lot of subjects. He has no energy for stupidity, and enjoys studying alone… but for Felix he will always make an exception. Oliver will happily help Felix study, and the two of them can often be found in the library as Oliver re-explains concepts with all the patience in the world. Felix is a himbo at heart, but that’s okay! Who needs to think when you have the smartest boyfriend ever? Instead of stressing about school, he can focus on his future seeker career. Oliver will always be there to support him through exam season. Students are used to the spot of Ravenclaw colours in the Gryffindor stands. Oliver is always there with a book to read or an assignment to finish. “You’re my lucky charm Ollie! Who cares if you’re watching? I’m just happy with the comfort of knowing that whenever I look into the stands, you’ll always be there.”

Hufflepuff Oliver and Slytherin Felix: Felix comes from a powerful pureblood family and he’s always been part of the elite. He may seem relaxed and lax a lot of the time, but he’s smarter than he looks. He’s silently top of a lot of his classes, and he won the Triwizard Tournament effortlessly. He’s charismatic and charming and Oliver being his best friend makes no sense to any of his Slytherin circles. Oliver is a soft spoken, soft hearted, Hufflepuff who’s muggle-born heritage means that he should never have been on Felix is radar. Felix is the most sought out match in pureblood society, so everyone is shocked – and Farleigh is completely unimpressed – when it looks like Felix might genuinely be courting Oliver. (All the other students don’t get why all that pureblood nonsense even matters. Sure it’s sad to realise that Felix is off the market, but have you seen him with Oliver?! Oliver’s usually so reserved, but he absolutely glows when Felix is around. Felix can be pretty cocky sometimes, but with Oliver he mellows out and he can be so soft and sweet. Oliver is so timid that he barely notices, but everyone else can see that Felix looks absolutely smitten whenever Oliver’s around. It’s the purest love story, and all that exhausting blood purity stuff pales in comparison).

i could go on and on about every possible house dynamic but i’m not sure if anyone else cares so i’ll stop here for now and say to be (possibly) continued

Saltburn Potter AU (but fuck JK for ruining this for us)

Oliver (muggle born) is the newest student at Hogwarts. A transferee from Erehnoll (school of magic located in northwestern Ireland)

Previously: House of Spaniel (yellow, brown, beige) known for powerful, stealthy, and rebellious wizards

Currently: Slytherin House

A little sad he’s no longer wearing his prev house colors until he meets Felix, a hufflepuff who wears his yellows proudly like the sun.

Felix (pureblood) comes from a long line of hufflepuffs (Sir James) and slytherins (Elspeth).

Hufflepuffs are known underground partiers. They have access to dealers that sneak contraband into the school. Extremely popular and very friendly, everyone wants in on their secret common room parties.

Venetia and Farleigh are slytherins.

Farleigh is half-Veela and never wears his house colors cuz he says they clash w his closet and hangs out in every common room so much that no one really knows which house he is

Felix reaches out to Oliver because he feels bad that he keeps getting bullied (he’s guilty that he can’t stop Farleigh) ((Oliver is very good at looking very pitiful))

They become close enough that Oliver confesses that his family was killed in a werewolf attack (lie) and he was raised in an orphanage until he could go to school (lie)

Truth: Oliver was attacked in his first year by a werewolf and lived. Now he hides away every full moon so no one knows what he is. His family is very much alive but not in communication in with him (he cut them off)

Oliver tries to win over Venetia and Farleigh by impressing them with his own magic (more powerful for their year) and his ability to get them drunk using potions (so they never get caught by the teachers w alcohol)

Felix starts getting demanding over Oliver’s time, starts asking where he goes thatvhe won’t say, starts believing Farleigh when he says Oliver was doing shit behind his back

Felix follows Oliver one night, doubting his excuse of late night studying until he finds himself in a secluded part of the school that no student is allowed to go. And it’s the full moon.

It was your first summer at Saltburn and you and Felix were attached at the hip.

Reading together by the poolside, you were curled up to his chest and reading the Harry Potter book that was passed around the entire group that summer. Felix had just finished it and now it was your turn.

Felix was reading a book that you had recommended to him — “The Secret History” by Donna Tart. Getting board with reading, you sat yourself up. A groan escaped Felix’s lips and you smiled. “Just going for a swim, care to join?” You asked, turning to him.

He seemed tempted, but he couldn’t put his book down. You just had that good of taste. “Maybe after I finish this chapter love,” he said. You nodded and made your way to the pool.

A moment later and out of thin air, Oliver appeared next to you. Oliver was quite jealous of the fact Felix had invited both of you to Saltburn. He wanted Felix to himself but Felix couldn’t keep his eyes away from you.

“I can see you both love each other very much,” Oliver says slowly and calculated. He turns his head to meet your gaze and there is a glimmer in his eyes.

“We do,” you confirm, a smile creeping onto your face. You blushed.

“I can hear you in the next room,” Oliver said, making his way towards you. “I see how he fucks you and how much control he has over you,” he said, getting only slightly closer.

You back away, looking at him with some confusion. ‘Why would he watch you and Felix?’

“Felix and I’s relationship is none of your business Oliver,” you retorted, snappily.

Before Oliver could respond, Felix cannonball’s into the pool. Swimming over to you, he slides his arms around your waist.

“What are you talking about?” Felix asked, a slight bit aggressive. Then Oliver replied. “Oh nothing, just my party,” he shrugged lying, swimming away from the both of you.

You let it be, too stunned to speak.

Later that night, you and Felix had snuck away after dinner. You two were in the labyrinth, Felix’s hands pulling at your waist. His lips trailing kisses down your neck leaving love bites and little marks as he went.

“Felix,” you giggled, his touch soft but still tickling.

“What?” He smiled teasingly, moving a hand to brush some hair from your face. You both made eye contact. Felix was much taller than yourself and you enjoyed how he towered over you. He brushed some hair from your face and leaned into kiss you.

But you backed away in fright, from the corner of your eyes you could see someone in the bushes.

Felix grew concerned, having never seen you like this.

“Whats wrong?” Felix asked.

You saw a figure near a hedge, the person looked small and angry. You looked back to Felix. “It’s Oliver,” you whispered, hoping he would believe you.

Felix saw your frightened eyes and got up from on top of you. “Oliver?” He shouted to the dark.

You saw now that no one was there.

Felix turned to you, “Are you okay? Because no one was there,” he said, concerned.

You shook your head, standing up. “No I’m not alright. I just saw Oliver watching us, right after he told me today that he stalks us,” you said, tears forming in your eyes.

“Do you not believe me?” You asked Felix.

Felix came up to you and embraced you in a soft hug. “I believe you,” he said. “He lied about his family. I’m not sure what to do.” Felix added.

“He lied about his family?” You asked, growing more concerned. “He’s a psychopath,” you said, pulling away from Felix.

“I won’t let him hurt you,” Felix said, protectively. “I’ll get mum to throw him out right after the party tomorrow night,” he said.

You nodded, “stay by my side,” you said. Felix took your hand and kissed your forehead, “I won’t let him near you.”

The next night at the party, you were dressed as a nymph. There was glitter in your hair and on your cheeks. You wore an old silky night gown, which Felix said he couldn’t wait to take off later.

Felix had kept his word and stayed next to you the whole night. Elsbeth and Sir James loved the look of you two, enjoying yourselves and having fun.

You didn’t see Oliver anywhere and wondered where he could be lurking.

Towards the end of the night, Felix wanted to get you back to his bedroom. On the way up the stairs, you ran into Oliver.

Felix went infront of you, he wouldn’t let anything happen to you. Not from this lying creep. “Go away Oliver,” he said strongly.

“I wanted to explain myself,” he said, sounding drunk.

“We don’t want your explanations,” Felix replied. “You lied to me and my family. And then you admitted to stalking me and y/n,” he said.

Oliver came closer, “I just wanted to be your friend. One of the group.” He said pathetically.

Felix went to move past Oliver, you following behind. As you went passed Oliver he tried to grab you and Felix turned to punch him in the face.

“Don’t touch her!” Felix yelled, causing some faces, including the Catton family and Farleigh to see.

Oliver in his drunken state missed a couple steps and fell. Not terribly injured he propped himself up. He was gone from Saltburn the following morning.

for the cinephile byler truthers. i made the party’s modern au letterboxd accounts

in my head mike wheeler is the film bro cinephile of the party. hes a big brad pitt fan and fincher is his favorite director if you even care.. dirty dancing would be in his top 4 if he was honest. he went to see dune cause hes a scifi nerd, ended up hating it so much and complained about it to will but still gave it 2 stars cause it was pretty. did leave a very mean review. very critical rater but mostly leaves high ratings because he just doesn’t watch things he doesnt wanna see.

alternative movies i considered putting: pulp fiction (5 stars), the killer (1 star), se7en (5 stars), across the spiderverse (5 stars), nope (5 stars) , the batman 2022 (4 stars), once upon a time in hollywood (5 stars), inglorious basterds (5 stars), the matrix (half a star)

the thing is so good and he has a poster of it on his wall in canon so it felt right. it just feels wrong not to do ghostbusters (plus its one of my favorite movies…) and yall need to hear me out on brokeback 😭😭😭 ur telling me he wouldnt bawl his eyes out??? ur wrong. will byers is a jake gyllenhaal lover. he watches dirty dancing a lot for mike, and loves ghibli movies a lot. he cried during rain man. honest rater but doesnt take it too seriously, mostly 4/5 star ratings

rogue one because lucas has taste. its the best star wars movie, if u care. he would love how fun and goofy ghostbusters 2 is. in my head Wes Anderson is like the party’s claimed director and they all watch his movies together and do marathons because the weirdness, comedy, and emotional commentary is a perfect mix for them. so. bottle rocket. lucas’ favorite wes anderson is the grand budapest hotel if u wanted to know. he rates things pretty highly and isn’t super critical.

likes making lucas watch gone girl on valentines day and telling him shes gonna do that to him next time he annoys her. v for vendetta is her favorite romance movie and shes a big marvel fan (in a cool way. kind of .) but thor ragnarok is probably one of her fav marvels, along with spiderman far from home and iron man. i just know she watches Casino Royale and decided she hated James Bond and then ended up watching all the Daniel Craig Bonds with Mike and loved Skyfall so much. the song is on her playlist and she did cry after No Time To Die.

also a bit of a film nerd. i considered giving him a star wars and i know in my heart he’d probably have empire somewhere in his top 4. but star wars is lame and i wanted to give him se7en so he fucking gets se7en. he knows john wick is objectively dumb but he doesnt care hes just here for a good time. the party probably watched saltburn together and all fucking hated it. I just know hes a kurosawa nerd and always goes when the local theatres do very rare special showings of his movies.

sorting the saltburn characters in hogwarts houses with headcannons pt. 1

i'm shocked that no one have done this yet when literally a good portion of the film was them reading harry potter by mskingbean89. so here are my thoughts on what hogwarts house are the characters in because it's totally canon that they've debated what their houses is and have done a 2007 version of a buzzfeed quiz (or did buzzfeed quiz exist during that time? idk im too young).

let's start with the easiest to sort for me.

Felix Catton is in GRYFFINDOR

James Potter got reincarnated as Felix Catton (canon)

Pure Blood (duh) with saviour complex.

Is part of a quidditch team as a chaser.

obsessed with sugar quills, has a lifetime supply in his room.

throws the best parties in the gryffindor dorm.

not sure about his patronus but i think its some kind of winged creature like hippogriff, phoenix, or swan because of maze scene but honestly it could be like a wolf or something. im not familiar with animals at all.

Oliver Quick is in SLYTHERIN

Half blood (mum's the witch) I think he's a cross between tom riddle, severus snape and peter pettigrew.

one of the meeker ones, definitely bullied by slytherin peers.

potions and dada are his favourite subjects.

if he's not stalking felix, he's watching himself be hugged by him in the mirror of erised before meeting him. stole the mirror of erised when felix died.

patronus is either a moth or a deer, i think.

is an animagus because he will go through that length to be interesting in felix catton's eyes and definitely stalks him using his animagus form.

honestly i dont know how a harry potter au with the exact same events as the film be delivered because their hogwarts house is already a telltale of their personality. i can only imagine them being all gryffindors like the mauraders to pull that off. and like of course the house rivalry is also a problem but let's not talk about the semantics of this world.

i'll be posting farleigh, venetia, and the others tomorrow because have to make a powerpoint for school.

More stuff for my Saltburn Potter AU cuz I can’t stop thinking about them

Oliver has remedial classes since he’s a transfer student and ends up in tutor classes with Felix for History of Magic.

Oliver’s strategy to get to Felix is focused more on getting close to Venetia and Farleigh (since they’re in the same house)

Oliver sabotages Felix’s scrolls so Oliver can volunteer to help Felix with his homework.

Felix takes Oliver to his first trip out in Hogsmeade. They go shopping and Felix almost buys out the entirety of Honeydukes when he learns Oliver has never had any non-muggle candy.

Felix bought Oliver’s first broom and teaches him flying. (Oliver ignores the fact that he is fucking terrified of heights since he gets to hug Felix from behind)

Felix likes buying Oliver new clothes, always commenting on his secondhand uniform and scarf.

Farleigh realizes that Oliver can do non-verbal magic because he caught Oliver getting revenge for him against a homophobic student. (Oliver casted a spell on their shoes that made them walk into every wall.) Only the professor figured out who it was and gave Oliver detention.

Farleigh and Oliver develop a love-hate relationship. They one up each other in classes but also like making snarky side comments about everyone else.

Venetia gets closer to Oliver because she thinks its cute he’s so “exotic” and finds his accent funny. She talks his ear off about relevant pop-culture things and gossip while Oliver shoulders the work of their Potions class.

Farleigh catches on that Oliver sneaks around at night (somehow without getting caught by the teachers or prefect).

Felix totes around the fact that he is the only one Oliver shares his personal life with. (He’s starting to get jealous that Oliver is housemates with Venetia and Farleigh.)

Once Felix accepts Oliver into the group, Oliver shadows Felix everywhere. They sit together when they eat, when they’re hanging out in the quad and when they do study dates in the library.

Felix loves going into the muggle world to party and takes Oliver into his first ever club.

They get too drunk to make it back to the Slytherin Dungeon so Oliver spends the night in Felix’s room. (They also get doused in vinegar because they mess up the password for the Hufflepuff common room too many times.)

Okay that’s it for now. I love harry potter AUs so much I am so excited to write one
