How the AU’s work

Each au has four version (book style in which it falls into silver eye’s continuity, game style in which it falls into game continuity, movie style in which it falls into movie continuity, and amalgam style in which it combines all three continuity’s into one)

In xanthophobia Cassidy is the villain (William afton die’s extremely soon in the AU and for once in his life never comes back)

So in my most of my AU’s the souls are able to grow old despit not being alive which explains any shipping you might see. Most of it isn’t my doing though

Elizabeth x Nick is only cannon in golden children

Unless its Evan x Cassidy or Mike x Charlie

TF2 is cannon in the golden children au (i mostly just wanted to make fnaf 2 Jeremy TF2 Jeremy)

The golden children au takes place in the late 80s to early 90s with flash forwards towards the pizzaplex era while the shattered souls au takes place in 1991 and the malefactor malfunction shifts the entire time line to start in 2000 GMTC takes place around 1999 to 2018 xanthophobia takes place in in the 2000s and 2010s

In shattered souls Springtrap is much nicer due to him losing his murdeous tendencies after getting spring locked

malefactor malfunction is a Ben 10 fnaf crossover with Cassidy having a version of the omnitrix called kaizotrix

So you know your amazing sbr au/rewrite where Hotpants and Diego look after Lucy Steel? Well, I'd just been thinking about the repercussions if it were more canon compliant with character deaths when I realised something:

Wow, this would have turned the fight with alternate universe Diego/the World from terrifying to heart-breaking.

Because imagine. Imagine Lucy, so, so close to the end of this journey, to the end of this tragedy that has claimed her protectors, her friends' lives, only to come face to face with the last hurdle.

And it's wearing Diego's face.

He's cold, and cruel, and callous, and he's everything that Diego learned not to be but he's wearing. HIS. FACE.

She knows what she has to do, she knows, but there's a voice at the back of her mind (strangely reminiscent of the one Johnny had when fighting Valentine). What if it could be different? What if it could be better?

What if she could get him back?

THROWS myself against the walls on my encloSER liKe a frantic ANIMAL

this ask literally had me rethink the way i wanted to go about this area of my rewrite and find a middle point between what I originally thought and this. Which originally it was just that Lucy stayed behind with the just barely having survived Diego and Hot Pants while the ending mostly goes the same with johnny going after alt Diego...

but oUGh im picturing the idea of Lucy is on the train with Diego and Hot Pants, their attempting to get Lucy to Mr. Steel and out of the country for her safety as everyone has painted a target on their back. However the trio is cornered by Funny Valentine who has realized they have the last pieces of the corpse between them. He's managed to collect from Johnny and Gyro and now he just needs the remaining eye, spine, and the heart to finish the job.

Fight goes almost the same as the canon, Diego nearly takes out FV but it crushed under the wheels of the train. FV receives the second eye. Hot Pants attempts to bargain with the President, to let Lucy leave safely if they hand over the remaining corpse parts. FV is instead the one hosting the finishing form of the holy corpse and the pull of the Love Train and its protection is active. Though Valentine promises to let Lucy go, he refuses to let Hot Pants go, and still plans to take care of Steel. Hot Pants goes to defend herself but is impaled by the incoming debris from the activating Love Train. The last Lucy see's of HP is Hot Pants attempting to move away from Valentine as the shards of glass attempt to crawl up her arm. Frozen unable to get herself to stay and keep Lucy safe or leaving to save herself. Just in time she see's Johnny and Gyro riding up on Horseback, and she falls from the train, which Lucy presumes to her death.

However unknown to Lucy, Hot Pant's escape saved her as she leaves the range of Love Train and manages to use cream starter to remove the glass. from here HP would hurry down the train line to the two halves of Diego that could hardly be called alive. Using Cream Starter to mend his wounds, just barely in the nick of time.

Back down the Tracks, time has passed and the fight between Johnny, Gyro and Valentine has concluded. Gyro and Valentine are dead while Johnny and Lucy mourn their loses. However the alternate Diego shows up to take the corpse and Johnny chase after him. Lucy Follows knowing Johnny cant do it alone in his state and she knows the secret to take out the alt Diego (However not with base world Diego's head this time, instead with one of the ribbons Diego gave her along the way. )

However I picture that Johnny loses to Diego and Lucy runs into Alt Diego before the bunker. Her and Tiny Butterfly are attempting to stop him while avoiding getting trapped in The Worlds range.

During all this, Diego senses Tiny Butterfly/Lucy's fear and need for HP and Diego to come and save her again. Lucy is running from a man with the face of someone who has become so important to her. As far as she's aware this is the only thing left of him in the world and its trying to kill her.

Diego would make just in time, getting up and going after her before Cream Starter can properly heal him (which is important to my Giorno fanpart and the main reason he died so young) Diego and Lucy take out this secondary Dio together.

The Alternate Universes of Steel Ball Run (literally)

Chapter 86: Ball Breaker (Part 4)

Ok firstly I just have to say I love love love the short glimpses of AUs that we see in SBR. I'm obsessed with the ever-so-slight changes, and then the bigger ones, because it really does just feed my curiosity into how the events of canon played out and how things could have turned out differently, if only something had been shifted ever so slightly to the left (and also my obsession with how SBR connects with the OG verse).

We know that in the 'base' universe, the objective of the race is the corpse of Jesus Christ, which has the power to grant stands. But during the battle with Diego, HP, alt!Diego and alt!HP, we learn that in another universe, the objective of the race is instead the collection of diamonds. Yet, HP still has Cream Starter, so stands obviously still exist. Okay, you might say, fine. But wasn't Cream Starter a stand HP was born with (ala Polnareff)? Yes, but as the panel above shows, and as we see during the confrontation in Philidelphia, in other universes Diego still has Scary Monsters and Johnny still has Tusk. What I'm saying is, it's entirely possible Stand Arrows exist in alternate universes of Steel Ball Run! (Or some other method of granting stands, at least).

Furthermore, if D4C transfers from Valentine to Valentine, and D4C was initially the ability of 'base' Valentine (as well as the Stand ability granted to him by the corpse), that implies alternate Valentines have a different stand entirely! (Unless Valentine somehow took off Johnny's leg without a stand, which I find somewhat doubtful.) I believe there is a line where alt!Diego mentions alt!Valentine’s range as if it were an important component of alt!Valentine’s stand, but we know that range is not necessarily the thing to watch out for with base!Valentine’s D4C. I’ll have to dig up the panel later but this is just a little note to come back to. Real quick, I just want to point this out:

Chapter 87: Ball Breaker (Part 5)

I think Johnny and Valentine parallel is so many interesting ways that I would love to explore later, but for now I just want to point out that both Tusk - Act 3 and Love Train enable their users to hide in a 'dimensional gap', only Act 3 protects Johnny through the ultimate defense while Love Train protects Valentine by hurting everyone else.

Back on track. The Spin, on the other hand, is a universal constant. Even if the corpse parts didn't exist, Johnny would have still followed Gyro after his initial reaction to the Steel Balls and learned Lesson 4 to advance Tusk to Act 2. Notably, in the universe seen above, Slow Dancer is perfectly fine. She was crucial in the 'base' universe to unlocking Tusk Act 4, hence why Valentine targeted her first. Though without Love Train (unlocked through the corpse), Act 4 isn't critical to Johnny's success. Take that as you will. At the very least, we can rest assured knowing the Johnny in the universe above wasn't on the cusp of walking again only to have Valentine chop his leg off.

What's more is that the corpse doesn't exist in any universe but the 'base' world (Chapter 86: Ball Breaker (Part 4)). That only makes me curious as to what could have possibly brought Johnny to this point, given his legs and spine would have never had the chance to actually heal through the power of the corpse. Maybe he just wanted to save Lucy...

On the other hand, imagine being the Johnny and Lucy in every other world only to have your archenemy gain a new stand, try to dip, spontaneously begin to spin, then die instantly. They're the real winners here.

Chapter 86: Ball Breaker (Part 4)

Also, since the infinite spin follows D4C and the Valentine it's attached too, is jumpsuit Valentine just fine now? Did he simply move to a new universe with no way back? Things we will never know the answer to.

Anyway, here's a compilation of different Johnnys and Lucys:

Okay, to get this post back on track, let me list some common denominators:

a) A confrontation of some sort between Johnny, Lucy and Valentine

b) Johnny is always somewhat kneeling, implying that in every universe he is disabled

c) It's sunset

Differences:

a) In the latter two universes, it appears Johnny does not have Slow Dancer

b) Lucy has shoes in the last universe

c) Johnny does not have Tusk out in the last three universes (do stands exist in those ones?)

d) Johnny is only injured in the first alternative universe

My theory is that the further Valentine travels between universes, the more the differences pile up. Though, as Valentine states, certain things are constant. His father's death, for example, though that could be due to some constant stroke of fate to set Valentine on the path to being a powerful figure in every universe (though he might have been lying about truly wanting to find his father. Never meet your heroes, right?)

Chapter 88: Break My Heart, Break Your Heart (Part 1)

Perhaps Johnny's disability also falls in this category. Without these events, they probably would not have found themselves in these circumstances, and would have been different people entirely.

We know from the existence of The World!Diego that there are some universes where someone dies and another survives. Valentine knows that, as he tried to entice Johnny with the promise of an alternate Gyro who survived past his encounter with Valentine, or perhaps avoided the corpse hunt entirely. Personally, I would have loved to see a universe where Johnny died instead and we saw Gyro with Lucy. Just to spice things up a little.

Also, my crack theory is that The World!Diego, extrapolating from his crueler behavior as compared to Scary Monsters!Diego and the stand itself, was from a universe closely adjacent to the OG Jojoverse. Because I'm delusional, and I think the SBR characters somehow existing on the same plane as the OGverse is cool as fuck (and sets up lots of fic premises lol).

What's the bottom line of this post? Basically, for better or worse, every SBR au is valid and I would love to see some of these concepts explored. That's it, really.

After taking a long time to finish this piece, I finally have Sandman for the SBR 90s AU.

He’s a undergrad university student studying Environmental Science and minoring in Psychology. He got into Syracuse University on a track and field scholarship (he’s a runner he’s a track star). Sandman works part-time at Mt. Tim’s bar along with Johnny and Poco. They all lovingly call him ‘Sandy’.

Now I'm curious. How do you see Gyro fitting into your modern Diego / SBR au?

LOVE this question because.. tbh.. I haven't thought a whole lot about his role in the au 🤔 but now this has me thinking.

diego first finds out about gyro through johnny's instagram account, and by that time the two have been dating for a while. this is during diego's time at cambridge, right before he moves to the states, so him and johnny are both 20-somethings that finally moved past the awkward kiss years ago. they aren't quite best friends again but they follow each other and sometimes engage in the same sort of banter they did as kids.

but gyro's backstory on his own isn't something i've really fleshed out, i think this is because writing his character is weirdly difficult for me, i'm not fully confident in myself in that regard. same with drawing him. 😭 i like the idea of him being in a band ??? and maybe johnny meets him at a show, probably when he's around 18 or 19. johnny is struggling with his own identity, not only in terms of sexuality, but he doesn't go to university, he has no idea what he wants to do and just sort of.. spends his time tending to his family's ranch (this is how diego and him met; diego took riding lessons there when he was very young)

so ANYWAY, let's say johnny tends to frequent a local bar that occasionally hosts shows for small bands. and let's say gyro's band plays one night and johnny finds himself enamored by the frontman. maybe it's gyro's confidence or the way he keeps making eye contact with him and clearly trying to get a reaction out of johnny who maintains a stone-cold expression the entire time. thus begins johnny's crush that he fights very hard to suppress.

the one thing i DO clearly imagine, and find funny, is the idea of gyro trying to talk to johnny and accidentally spilling a drink on his shirt 💀 and apologizing profusely before wheeling him away backstage to get away from the crowd and clean him up. he gives him a band tee and jokes that johnny can pay him later before giving him his number, and they stay in touch (gyro always initiating the conversation). this is such a rough idea but eventually they catch feelings and johnny fully succumbs to his identity. so he becomes a roadie!! and travels all over the place with gyro, whose band slowly grows in popularity.

going back to diego (bc oops, he's the main character), i don't think he'd meet gyro until the band becomes successful enough to tour a small number of cities in the states. that meeting would be hilarious tbh. i also love the idea of it not happening until the gyjo wedding. either way, diego will be a shithead at first and demand credit for being johnny's "true gay awakening" 💀💀💀

granted, this au branches into self-ship territory and gyro plays a very different role, HOWEVER, in terms of where i would place him when it comes to a potential fic? this is what i'd do with him. i think. this is a lot of brainstorming LOL... thank you for the opportunity and SORRY THIS IS SO LONG

While I am very happy with the Jotaro AU President title, I unfortunately have not read Steel Ball Run 😔

However, this is a great time to ask a question I’ve had for a bit, for anyone to answer: Is it possible to read SBR without having finished Stone Ocean?

Because currently I’m watching Stone Ocean with a friend and don’t want spoilers, but also I am very curious about the contents of SBR and Jojolion. I know they take place in an alternate universe/timeline(?) and are a bit disconnect from the rest of the parts, so I was wondering if it was possible

I've always wondered what Valentine's heirarchy of subordinates would be like? Do you have one?

i sure do! (i saw ur other ask clarifying that this is for the au i have, thank u SOO much lovely!)

ive used the wiki of valentine's subordinates as reference for this. <3 they are in order of 'ranking' :D

there are no direct spoilers here, but some spoilers are implied; you have been warned!

President Valentine -- obviously, the figurehead for this. he's at the very top of this list! additionally, there is no canonical Vice President, its my personal headcanon that the vice president is just another Valentine from another universe that appears visually different enough to pass as VP.

Blackmore, Scarlet Valentine -- they share a place, as Scarlet is the first lady, & Blackmore is a personal assassin and considered a second-in-command to Valentine. although Blackmore technically shares 'rank' with Scarlet, he will still take orders from her.

Mike O., Enter Shikari (OC), & President's Aides (unnamed in canon) -- Mike is a personal assistant of Valentine, not quite sharing a rank with Blackmore, but works in close relation to him! Shikari-- my OC-- as previously mentioned, is Head of Defense & Security and acts as a 'plan B' or failsafe to fill in whenever Mike or Blackmore would be unavailable. The President's Aides are just other Valentine's from other universes that work 'behind the scenes', another failsafe for Valentine.

Diego Brando (Mayor of Manhattan, post-canon), Steven Steel, plus any other notable political figures in association with Valentine -- the Mayor of Manhattan himself! Nothing interesting to say here, he just has the authority to boss everyone beneath him around. additionally, as the Holy Corpse is stored in Manhattan, he's technically the overseer of it, ensuring its safety with Scary Monsters. Additionally, Steven Steel-- the promoter of the race, is here, too!

Axl RO, D-I-S-C-O, Ringo Roadagain, Pork Pie Hat Kid, Magenta Magenta, Wekapipo, Eleven Men, Alternate Diego Brando/Dio (ex-subordinate post-canon), Diego Brando (during canon) -- everyone listed here are henchmen of Valentine! You'd primarily see them as just guardsmen of Valentine, on political excursions, so on and so forth. Everyone here has permission to kill on behalf of the safety of America.

Dr. Ferdinand, Soundman (ex-subordinate post-canon, during canon), Lucy Steel (?) -- Ferdinand is a secretary of Valentine, was granted permission to kill during the events of SBR, but his job is primarily to just do all the stuff no one else wants to do. I do like to believe Ferdinand also helped locate some Corpse parts, too! Soundman (i know he's called Sandman in canon but he says his name is SOUNDMAN so i'm gonna call him that) was just a temporary alliance, just for Diego. Lucy is also here, if ONLY due to Steven.

What happened to air supplena in SBR giorno au? Does Mona just own a random island for no reason or is it just deserted and Mona went "it's free real estate" or does someone else own it

it just wouldnt exist, Mona only shares some similarities to Lisa Lisa in my SBR Giorno AU

the transfer from a hamon warrior -> to Spin master, being from italy (specifically the country of Naples like Gyro)

Marrying George Joestar the second and having Joseph -> Marrying Jorge Joestar and having Josefumi

the best connection i would give is air suppelena being an island spin users of the royal guard trained on or was a small island her family lived on

But beyond that, its nothing totally fleshed out because im still figuring it out mostly, Mona is meant to be a good bit different from Lisa Lisa, the way any of the SBR universe characters are with mostly just sharing a name and some similar story stuff.

Mona currently lives in the downtown area of the city that my AU Giorno's plot takes place in (still in debate where exactly i wanna set it... i know i want Diego and Hot Pants to have settled their home in Manhatten both for the joke of it and also because i decided to make it something more serious for diego to have a reason to pick it.. but i picture SBR Giorno ran away, wont stay in that same state/area but wouldnt have gone too far that if something happened she couldnt be home in a days time)

Mona, once on her way to becoming a rising star in the royal guards of the Kingdom of Naples, showing great promise in her training of spin in her teen years, is now kinda going through her midlife crisis

The Kingdom of Naples is now gone and work for her specific mastery isnt really needed the same way it was, and her years of focus and training left her in the dust of the changes of time.

So she leaves Italy and makes her way to america

She mostly acts like a local 'big sister' to the riff raff, trying to keep the peace best she can while also trying to make ends meet. having fallen into some shady business herself. Which is where im thinking of taking the story on a someone Oliver Twist styled setting

With Mona the leader of a small group of misfits with Angelo and Venus mostly, kidnapping Giorno to try and sell her for ransom when the recognize her as the daughter of the old rich horse jockey Diego who passed away recently, surely his widow would pay handsomly to get their daughter back. Only for Giorno to end up beating the shit out of them out a desperate need for her living parent to not know where she is.

Giorno earns their respect and ends up getting somewhat absorbed into their lil group and leading on to a bigger adventure that im still not 100% sure where i wanna go with them for that rn,,

Mona herself is training Venus in spin (as a way to reign in Venus's aggression) as she is kinda looking for any way to make use of it, and maybe in training another generation of spin users it'll make her feel like she's done something with it.

Mona mothers all the others in her group (except Angelo who is only a bit younger than her, but acts like he's twice her age and hates to be babied) and truly cares about their well being. their what family she has

on the side she has started seeing a man in casual romantic settings, once in awhile allowing herself to be taken on a date by him and trying to be coy in not letting him know how much she's actually really into him. This would lead to Giorno finding out about Monalisa having romantic relations with Jorge Joestar, son of her late godfather Johnny...

Mona tries to keep her two lives separate not wanting to scare off Jorge with her more or less skeevy life style as she geniuenly likes him but between thinking he wouldn't look at her the same if he knew the kind of life she had let herself fall into to but knowing he is a visitor from japan and their romance might only last the summer until he returns home....

Mona and Giorno have back and forth conflict between deeply respecting each other and leaning on one another, but sometimes when Mona leans too hard into worrying over Giorno, they tend to snap over it and be very against Monalisa trying to act like her mom. (which is deep rooted in Giorno's whole deal with returning home to her mom then)

JUST, Mona going through the works of figuring out how to be happy again and what she's doing with her life,,, but im sure it works out for her,,

SORRY this became a rant,,, i like my SBR Giorno AU stuff but its not very fleshed out so when I can rant and be asked stuff about them it gets the juices flowing just to talk and feel out ideas and stuff,,
