“i ain’t nervous,” toji claims, cracking his neck and smirking as the crew members attach the needed equipment to his body, “i ain’t no liar either. so i got nothing to worry about here.”
“i sure hope that’s true, mr.fushiguro.” the polygraph examiner replies slyly.
“are you ready, toji fushiguro?” the interviewer asks.
“yeah, i am,” toji claps, “hurry up and get started.”
“is your name toji fushiguro?”
“yes my name is toji fushiguro.” he looks to the polygraph examiner. “it is, right?”
the woman simply stares at him.
“..alright then…”
the interviews asks another question. “are you about to take a polygraph exam?”
“yes, yes and yes, now give me the real questions!”
TOJI FUSHIGURO TELLS THE TRUTH
YOUR CAREER
“we’re going to start with the category of your career.”
toji nods and looks to the examiner. “how ‘m i doing?”
“you’re very calm, nothing unusual yet.”
“hm.”
the interview begins to speak. “one of your most popular roles as an actor was when you played Frank Castle in the Netflix series, “The Punisher”. some would say this is when you became a heartthrob. do you think is this true?”
toji sighs and shakes his head. “nah-”
“LIE.” the polygraph examiner calls out.
toji raises his hand. “…because, i was already a heartthrob before alla that.” he smiles, looking proud of himself. his answer is met with silence.
“ok.” says the interviewer and goes onto the next question. “do you face a lot of pressure being a heartthrob?”
“nope.” toji answers easily. “i’m just that kinda guy. i ain’t gotta try too hard for much, especially not ‘being hot’.”
he looks at the examiner.
“he’s telling the truth.” she states. she almost seems disappointed by the fact.
“see?” toji says, folding his arms, “as i said, ‘got nothin’ to lie about.”
“in the punisher,” the interviewer starts, ignoring toji’s cocky replies, “do you wear a muscle suit to look bigger than you actually are?”
toji throws his back, cackles echoing around the small room. “fuck no!” he gestures to…his whole body, “‘it look like i need a muscle suit? ‘didn’t even know that shit was a thing… i’m big enough without any of that stuff.” he shrugs, looking into the camera. “i think we can all see that.”
the examiner nods curtly. “..he is telling the truth.”
“do you workout often?” asks the interviewer.
toji scoffs. “i thought i’d get good questions..but yeah, yeah i do workout.”
“would you consider yourself fit?”
“yep. ‘hundred percent.”
“would you consider yourself fitter than,” the interviewer slides a photo of the actor gojo satoru towards toji, “this man?”
“pfft-” toji chortles. “oh, ohh yeah. easily. he’s like..” he looks for the correct words, “a little boy. are we kidding?”
he looks to the examiner and then to the interviewer.
“he is being truthful..again.”
toji smirks at the camera, tapping the side of his nose with his finger. “toji never lies.”
POP CULTURE
“this year, you were named “The Most Sexiest Man Alive” by People Magazine. do you believe you’re sexier than this man, 2022’s sexiest man, nanami kento?” the interviewer slides another photo, this time of the actor nanami kento.
toji looks at the photo for a second, before scoffing a little. “oh yeah. definitely. ‘guy just has a permanent frown on his face. he ain’t ugly but he could smile a little, y’know?”
“what about this ‘guy’, 2021’s most sexiest man alive, ryomen sukuna?” the interviewer also slides a picture of him to toji.
toji strokes his chin. “heh..yeah..yeah i would say so..this guy..he ain’t ugly either but..theres this energy about him..”
“what energy would that be, toji fushiguro?”
“the energy of a fuckin’ mass murderer that’s what!” he laughs at his own joke, looking at the picture of this ‘ryomen sukuna’, who is glaring into his soul through the image. “yeahh, i’d say i’m more attractive than him. just.. just a little.” he holds two fingers close together emphasis. “jesus christ, that’s one scary looking fuck.”
the examiner inspects the polygraph and looks towards toji and the interviewer. “he has been telling the truth.”
“yeah.” toji nods, exhaling through his mouth and sliding the pictures away from himself. “‘course i am.”
LOVE LIFE
toji had been doing well so far, but the category of ‘love life’ would be his downfall.
“do you want to get married in the future?”
“yeah, yeah i do.”
the examiner nods.
“have you ever been in love?”
“..yes.” toji responds, thinking about his past for a second.
the examiner nods again.
“are you in love right now?”
toji pauses for the first time in the whole test. he takes a deep breath. “no. yeah, no. ‘m not.”
the examiner raises an eyebrow at the results. “questionable.”
“oh, c’mon.” toji groans, rolling his eyes.
“is there someone you’re in love with?”
“nope. nobody at all.” he interlinks his fingers, tapping them against each other. “..nobody at all..”
“questionable. again.” the examiner states, pointedly looking at toji.
toji sighs. “oh, brother…”
“did you happen to meet this person..on set?”
“no, ‘cause there is no person?” toji says firmly.
“again.” the examiner says. “questionable.”
“christ…”
the interviewer asks another question. “do you believe in love at first sight?”
toji huffs. “no, that’s just two people who wanna fuck.”
“i see. then,” the interviewer takes out three pictures, all of them being people who he has worked with on set, including you.
“are you in love with any of these people?”
toji gulps, hesitating for a split second, his eyes focused on your picture. “nope. not oneeee bit.”
“LIE.” the examiner shouts excitedly, happy to have finally caught toji out on lying. she rings the negative buzzer repeatedly. “lie!”
“‘you serious?” he asks incredulously, looking between the interviewer and the examiner. “listen, maybe it was just my heart murmur or somethin’ like that,” he looks to side, cheeks rosy and shifts in his seat a little, “i-i don’t-”
“those are the last of our questions.” the interviewer says to toji, smiling knowingly. “thank you for taking part in our lie detector test.”
toji grumbles.

“Is your missus here tonight?” John asked his best mate Rúben, from across the room, as all Manchester City players were getting dressed in their kits and were preparing to attend the Uefa Champions League final tonight. Rúben turns away from his locker, trying to brush out a crease that had formed in his shorts.
“Yes, she flew with the kids. They landed, like two hours ago.” He tells him, going to the mirror to begin fussing with his hair, even though he would just be pushing it back out of his face anyway. “This puts even more pressure. I’m basically obliged to perform well.”
“She flew alone with two kids for what four hours?” Bernardo joins the conversation, grinning at Rúben. “She is a wonder woman.”
“She definitely is!” John agrees, walking over to pat Rúben's shoulder comfortingly but he shakes his head, already nervous at the idea of his kids watching him. After the loss in the final 2021 and in the semi’s in 2022, Rúben promised his family to win the next time around. And now it was hitting him hard - he never breaks his promises. The pressure was definitely skyrocketing through the roof.

It all happened very fast. You needed a couple of seconds to process that Rodri in fact had scored a beautiful goal. Which meant that City took the lead 1-0. There were approximately 20 more minutes and if City were able to handle the tension, that meant that the guys would complete a treble. You knew what that meant to them, to Rúben. Everything was at a very high stake. Your stomach was in knots and your leg bobbed up and down with anxiousness as you were looking at the clock, counting down the seconds until the end of the match, until the referee's final whistle.
After what felt like the longest extra time that you’ve experienced in a match it was finally over, when the end of the match was announced everybody in the VIP sector (the families of the players) stood up and raised their arms in joy, cheering in excitement.
“George. Azlia. Come on! Let’s go congratulate daddy!” you took them by their hands and somehow managed to get down to the pitch.
The three of you push your way through the crowd on the soccer field. It was hard for you to see the way in the ocean of bodies. Then John taps lightly on your shoulder and points at a gap you can pass through. That’s when you see him. He has his back turned to you, engaged in conversation with a staff member. He doesn’t see you, but it’s like he feels you coming, and turns around, his gaze landing to you. Without looking back at the man behind him, he excuses himself and starts making his way over to you.
“Papai!” George screams as he breaks away from your hand and runs to your husband, obviously he can't contain his excitement anymore. Rúben kneels down to be on the same level as him and he runs straight in his arms. You picked up Azlia as she was struggling to keep up with your pace with her little feet, because you wanted to get to Rúben faster.
As you finally reach him you walk right into his open arms, your hands fisting his jersey. It feels so good to be holding him.
“You did it! I’m so, so, so proud of you, amor! You did so good! I’m so happy for you! A treble, wow..unbelievable!” you said quite loudly in his ear with a smile that hurt your cheeks.
You raised your head a little and he bent down a little, so you could share a kiss. As you pulled away, you gave him a kiss to the side of his mouth and ran your fingers through his hair at the nape of his neck.
“Eu te amo, meu amor.” he said to you, looking directly into your eyes wanting to look into them forever.
Not breaking eye contact you replied just a heartbeat later “Te amo mais.”
“Da-da,da-..” Azlia babbled in your arms, reminding you guys of her existence.
“Eu também te amo, princesa.” Rúben said as he kissed her chubby cheeks.

The awarding took place very quickly. You moved away with the rest of the wives, girlfriend and family members of the players and found yourself jumping from conversation to conversation. Everyone was so excited. Except the kids. They didn’t understand what was happening and just ran away the second the ceremony was done.
You were frantically looking for Azlia when you felt two big, strong hands on your waist, bringing you into a hug from behind.
“What are you doing, love?” Rúben asked with amusement.
“I’m looking for Azlia! I can’t find her! George ran away with Roman and Riaan, and I swear Azlia was standing right beside me and now she is gone.” you said while turning in his arms, to face him.
“Baby she is a one-and-a-half-year-old, with tiny little legs. How far can she go?” he chuckled, as you continued to search for her with your eyes.
“Oh, there she is. Taking pictures with the other kids.” you finally spotted her, taking a picture with Kyle, his sons and Ronnie.
“Baby, chill. These kids are having the time of their lives. They can’t stay in the same position for more than 10 seconds. Look at them running around!” Rúben assured you. That made you smile, but not as much as when you watched Ronnie chasing Azlia around and the two pig tails on top of her hair were bouncing with every step she took.
“Aww, look babe, Ronnie is showing Azi his medal. How cute!” you pointed at them for Rúben to see.
“He is now putting his medal on her..” Rúben stated quite shook “Yo, Foden, watch your son!” he then shouted in Phil’s direction, who stood all the way to the other side of the pitch.
“Rúben! Oh my God! Baby..they are kids..” you hit his chest lightly, bursting into a fit of giggles.
“I have a medal, too..I’m gonna go show it to her.” and with that he left you watching him attempt to come close to Ronnie and Azlia, but when they saw him approaching them - they ran away laughing.

Hanahaki fic where Essek falls so hopelessly in love with Caleb post-97 that it's literally killing him. He could cure himself, but the price (reverting back to the man he was prior to meeting Caleb) is one that Essek would rather die than pay. That he could be cured by Caleb ever loving him back is, of course, a laughable notion.
Reccer says: A beautifully written example of not-actually-one-sided pining, with literal life or death stakes. I don't normally care for hanahaki fics, but I reread this one often.

Sophia - I think you really have a gift.
And for some odd reason, I think you were the one person who has mentioned you also thought this - but I think this whole thing may last until or around the time the new SMA is announced.
The reason I think this is bc around the same time CE was announced as SMA, this is when the rumors really really escalated - past pumpkins, he goes and comments on one of her photos - not really a comment, but ya know. He was doing his best to fake GAF.
Then the next day Reuters Published his article and listed him as “single” which sent fans into stealth mode bc all the AB stuff was still happening.
It was then I was suddenly reminded of MBJ, and how he was also listed as single during his Reuters SMA announcement. A month or so later, the rumors of him and Lori Harvey began. By the time January 2021 rolled around, MBJ and Lori were IG official.
I remember thinking, wow that was fast. It was almost like - the sexiest man alive can never be single - and if he is single, he has to be “taken” almost right after - to show that he is hot commodity. I don’t know why I had this thought - but then I forgot about it and moved on.
When CE’s SMA happened, I had the same thought pop up. I had this overwhelming feeling that he was going to pop up with AB after this announcement. Only bc of all the SM activity and how the rumors escalated after she reactivated on SM. It felt way too strategic - like he suddenly starts liking her posts - all of them, when he more or less was ignoring her for a good few months. I know likes on SM aren’t always consistent. But after he liked her mrs Paris photo back in July, pretty sure a few months went by and he sort of just minds his own business and ignores her on SM. But the moment she reactivated in October - he starts liking all of her posts, each time. Then the pumpkin photo, then the comment, then BOOM - announcement. It felt too “sudden” ramp up - and just more like it was being planned to execute that way, leading up to the “big reveal.”
I also have this theory that him going public with her probably wasn’t supposed to happen so close to the SMA drop, but her show premiered that same week - so they just went public to speed things up and get the max PR push.
Again - all of this is tinhat theory.
I don’t think he did all this to get SMA. I think SMA was just to give him a boost in the same year he was also getting press for two movies after not having any film releases due to Covid for about 2 years. But I DO think this “relationship” with AB has to do with SMA, and I think it’s meant to make him look like a committed, can settle down type - instead of the ever long bachelor who can’t hold down a long term relationship.
I also wonder if Monica Barbaro, one actress he also followed, was at one point on the list for him to be paired up with. She had a pretty big year due to top gun maverick. He followed a bunch of these up and coming women - all:most whom had some type of show, film, or movie release in the last two years. Kaitlyn Dever had dopesick, Alisha wainwright had raising dion, Lily James had Pam and Tommy, Monica - top gun, and etc.
I just think they ended up with AB bc she was the one with a show that was likely on the cutting block - and she’s the one actress IMO - that can’t sell anything on her own. No talent, won’t promote on her socials, no charisma, no “IT” factor. But she is the star of a Netflix original so the additional boost of setting her up with a more famous man actually worked out for her. She may have also been the one actress who was willing to “sell out” to sell out, if that makes any sense. I don’t want to discredit other women who do these things for PR, but the other actresses mentioned all seemed to be happier doing their own promo and moving up the career ladder not being the “accessory” to someone more famous.
This may be too farfetched but I’ve thought this for a while. Just another opinion.
Hi :) thanks. Yes, I was the first one I guess. I made the prediction in January this year. I got a clear msg of two years and if we count from Nov 2021, it makes Nov 2023, exactly two years. Also, I made a few theories in Jan, Feb that it might last till the next SMA gets announced. I also compared how MBJ and Lori's timelines matched with Chris and Alba's.
Your theory is great, it's not far-fetched at all. I think SMA was part of the deal but not the main thing. Also, there have been info that SMA is not usually given to single men. He was given when he entered a pr rs. I think the went with the two-year timeline so Chris doesn't look like a player because of the age gap. I also feel the reason they are pushing the engagement and wedding rumors is to make him not look like Leo who only dates mid-twenties girls and then dumps them. They want his family guy image to not get ruined and that he wasn't just non-serious but he really wanted to settle down.

Robert Downey Jr. is the most talented. All of them are talented and played various characters various, but most of the time they are handsome strong heroes. Robert Downey Jr., him, had not only played Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also in historical movies or dramas or comedies... However he was not handsome when he was younger and i began to find him handsome after Avengers Endgame, so only recently. I would be his personal assistant to learn about how he creates his characters.
