Made some pancit canton using shrimp shell chicken broth.
Try this recipe for the Lunar New Year. I learned that if you suck shrimp heads it means the new year will suck less. Or was it long noodles lead to long life? Na kalimot na ko.
finally got to try this super popular ramen place which everyone have been raving about, there’s almost always a queue during dining hours, so going early or in between meal times is the best way to avoid queue.
there’s quite a variety of broth to select from, and you get to customize everything from the noodles, soup to ingredients to make a bowl of ramen to your liking. i picked the shrimp broth cos it looks interesting, with normal noodles and char siu. the soup is very flavorful for my taste, but i believe you can add more flavor if you prefer stronger broth.
also ordered the chicken karaage to share while waiting for the ramen, this is not so good though as the chicken is slight soggy, the mayo sauce is appetizing but perhaps a little too much.
there’s also additional toppings on each table that you may add to your bowl after trying the original taste, so do experiment and find what you like best. service is quick and efficient even though the restaurant is always packed, they served roasted rice tea instead of green tea which i find quite nice.
definitely worth trying out if you enjoy ramen a lot, the taste is good and it’s a very simple yet satisfying meal.
THE SHELLFISH BROTH, THE SHRIMP BROTH, YOU'VE GOT ALL THAT SAUSAGE. THE SAUSAGE JUST FLAVORS THE POTATOES SO WELL. JUST BECAUSE WE LOVE THE POTATOES BECAUSE WE LOVE THE SAUSAGE. AND OUR FAMILY JUST LOVES THEIR POTATOES. WHAT'S THAT? WE DON'T NEED ANYTHING, JUST A POTATO. THAT'BECAUSE WE LOVE THE POTATOES. HE'S BECAUSE WE LOVE THE POTATOES.
Rather than going for rice dish, I picked this S$12.50 bowl of Kimchi & Shrimp Noodles Soup (泡菜虾仁汤面) at Feng Food (台湾味 “丰”). I opted for “xi mian” or in English means thin noodles. It was served with all the mentioned ingredients plus fried egg and diced spring onions. The kimchi imparted a light spiciness to the broth and the shrimps are real crunchy to the bite. Only complaint, the noodles portion seems a little small for a grown man like me.
Mum went with the usual Guan Miao Mian with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (猪排关庙面). I also ordered a takeaway Fried Rice with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (招牌猪排蛋炒饭) which cost S$0.10 more than mum’s dish at S$12.90+ for sis at home.
For sharing, a S$8+ bowl of Taiwanese Mushroom Meatball Soup with Seaweed & Egg (新竹香菇贡丸海带芽蛋花汤). Four to five springy and flavourful mushroom pork balls floating in the umami broth of beaten egg, seaweed and fried shallots.
How does windclan deal with the lack of fat that rabbits have? Is that lack of fat not as big of a deal for the cats, or do they have something to supplement their diet?
Surprisingly it would be a pretty big deal; cats need a significant amount of fat in their diets as obligate carnivores.
Thankfully though rabbits DO have some fat in them... but they would need to supplement their diets with the 40% that isn't rabbit since they are so lean. Surprisingly; insects and eggs would do it.
It's kinda funny to think that insects are kind of like "WindClan's Vegetables," especially since I feel like Mudclaw HATES them but Torear loves them. Mama Ryestalk trying to get Mudkit to eat his grasshoppers and he keeps sneaking them over to his bro.
Torear then raising Kestrelpaw and Harepaw, making sure to fry up mashed worms and egg ("Grubcakes") in flax oil for breakfast to entice them into eating their bugs.
you know what i really want ? for jing yuan to open a food stall on the street that became immensely popular. but the catch is, no one knows that it's the general / retired general. his bangs are up, his pony tail is tied into a bun, he wears a typical gray civilian garbs so that he doesn't stand out and he has a distinct happy go lucky, very cheerful and jplly attitude as a stall chef that's unlike his usual lazy demeanor. adding to that, he does enjoy socializing and chatting up with different people, listening and hearing out their problems.
it’s one of the popular spot to get penang hokkien mee or prawn mee. they have many kinds of noodles to choose from and two kinds of broth - prawn broth and the thick broth. also quite a lot of addons available to customize your bowl of noodles. i like to mix both the broth to get the best of both worlds.
the prawn broth is very fragrant with nice prawn smell, and the thick broth adds texture which make it so appetizing and yummy. we also ordered lobak as appetizer which taste great too. this would be one of the original hawker food that still taste as good as i remembered.
