A/N: THIS IS THE FIRST SHERLOCK ONESHOT I WROTE! I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! (WHY AM I YELLING? 🤣) ~ AMETHYST
You had come to visit your brother in London about a week ago. Unfortunately, you had unknowingly brought with you a stomach bug and gave it to your brother. This particular morning he was still in bed sleeping, no longer sick but still too weak to go out. You'd spent most of your time helping him recover or sightseeing around the city. You, of course, had met Sherlock but you didn't spend too much time around him because you didn't want him to deduce your secret.
"John!" Sherlock yelled from downstairs. Your brother "Jawwwwwn!!!!" He yelled again. You ran downstairs to quiet him down.
"Sherlock!" You whisper-yelled. "Please don't yell! He's still sleeping for goodness sake!"
"Why?"
"Why is he still sleeping?"
"Yes."
"Because he's still recovering from being sick you twit!"
"But I need him for a case! Gavin just called me and said there was a murder!"
"Gavin?"
"Yes, Geoff."
"Geoff?"
"Gucci."
"Oh! Greg!"
"That's not it."
"Yes it is."
"No, Lestrade's first name is-"
"Greg," John said coming down the stairs completely wrapped up in his blanket.
"John!" You both exclaimed.
"You look absolutely dreadful!" Sherlock stated. "How are you supposed to help me in that condition?"
"I'm not!" He said, "I'm going back to bed. She'll go with you."
"John, please no," you pleaded. Your brother gave you a pointed look.
"Look, you can't avoid him forever. I think he might actually find you quite interesting." He whispered.
"I don't think this is a goo-" you paused a moment looking again at your brother. "Are you wearing any pants?" You asked loud enough for Sherlock to hear too.
"Nope." John and Sherlock both started laughing hysterically. You tried to look disgusted but couldn't help yourself and joined in on the laughter. John started coughing suddenly, ruining the happy mood.
"You'd better get back to bed, John," You said. "I'll put on a fresh pot for you and I guess I'll go with Sherlock if that'll make you happy."
"Thanks, sis," He replied heading back upstairs. You went to the kitchen and started some more tea. Sherlock hadn't said a word but you felt his intense gaze on your back. You whipped around suddenly, staring back at him. His gaze faltered for a moment before he finally opened his mouth to speak.
"I suppose you'll do. Just make sure not to mess anything up."
"I wouldn't dare," You replied. Purposely bumping into him as you walked out of the kitchen, you smiled to yourself. Perhaps you wouldn't let him figure out your secret. Perhaps you'd show it to him willingly.
"We found her in the car completely unresponsive. The medics pronounced her dead at the scene. We figure she couldn't have been here for more than a couple hours," D.I. Lestrade explained.
"To the average person it would look like a standard car accident. Why were you guys called?" You asked. Sherlock was completely ignoring Greg, preferring to examine the body.
"She was an old classmate of mine actually. We kept in contact occasionally. She always told me she would never get behind the wheel of a car. We were called because the car wasn't registered to her and the owner has gone missing." You nodded and thought about the situation. Walking up to the body and the car, you examined it for yourself.
"The driver of the car, where did he work?" You asked.
"At the bank about 6 blocks north of here."
"Call the bank and ask if they ever punched in this morning. I think they'll also find they're missing some money. Here's what happened. Your friend and the owner of the car had both gotten jobs at the bank about 2 months ago. They decided to carpool since they lived near each other. They headed into work this morning, the first ones in. When they entered the bank 2 robbers were already inside. They went to hit the alarm but the robbers took them hostage, they'd already gotten the money. They assumed your friend was the driver of the car and forced her to get behind the wheel. As they were driving she started to have an asthma attack and lost control of the car. They probably had another buddy nearby in another car so they could get away with at least one hostage." Taking a closer look at some papers in the car, you said: "Try the Hotel on 27th. That's where they're staying."
"How did you figure this all out?" Greg exclaimed.
"It's quite easy, all the evidence is right there," You stated.
"C'mon, Miss Watson," Sherlock said sharply. "Wouldn't want to keep your dear brother waiting home alone. Good day, Lestrade." He grabbed your arm, pulling you away from the scene. He was silent, never sparing a glance in your direction for the whole walk back to 221b.
"Wait just a minute, Mr. Holmes. We're both adults and we are going to discuss this matter as such," You said just before going inside. You now grabbed his arm and pulled him into Speedy's. Pushing him into a booth, you sat across him and analyzed him carefully. He'd placed his elbows on the table, hands together in a prayer position, fingertips resting on his chin. He stared straight ahead, which so happened to be directly at you. "Oh no you don't! Don't go off into your mind palace now, Sherly."
"Don't call me that!" He snapped, a barely noticeable pink rising to his cheek.
"Are you sure, Shirl?" You cooed, noting his reaction. He blushed even harder this time. His face remained stoic but his eyes shone. "You like the fact that someone has finally called you by a nickname without using it derogatorily. You claim not to be emotional but all the name calling affects you very much. Well they're wrong you know. You're not a freak, you're a genius. You're not ugly or weird, you're quite handsome and absolutely amazing. You're not crazy, well, maybe a little." He smiled slightly at that, finding himself unable to meet your eyes. "You do this work because you want to help and you find it enjoyable because you can understand it rather easily unlike emotional matters. Well lemme tell you something, honey, emotions aren't easy for anyone. But most people believe they're a necessary evil. And some people can read emotions a little better than others. You'll find most of those people are women though. I think that right now, you feel absolutely naked at having someone deduce you back." You looked down at your own hands. "Don't feel so bad. I don't mean any harm, I just-" You sighed deeply. "I've been doing this my whole life." He looked up at you, an amazed look on his face. "This deducing and all. Why do you think John gets along with you so well? He's used to me. I drove him and Harry crazy for years." You finally made eye contact with Sherlock again. "I'm sorry I stole your spotlight today. I just, I just wanted to let you know you're not alone."
"What emotions do you see in me now?" He stared deeply into your eyes.
"Admiration, surprise, and," you paused for a moment. 'No, he wouldn't feel that way,' You thought. "Uh, I don't know." You trailed off.
"C'mere," he said standing up and taking your hand. You stood up facing him. He took both of your hands in his. "You missed one," he whispered, leaning into you. "Love." He closed the gap, kissing you quickly on the lips.
"SherlocK! I-"
"Come with me," He exclaimed, grabbing your hand.
"What are you doing?" You yelled as he pulled you out of Speedy's and upstairs to the flat.
"Jawwwwwn!" He yelled bursting through the door.
"I'm right here," Your brother groaned from his chair not 6 feet away. "What is it?"
"I'm going to marry your sister."
"Sherlock!!!" You yelled. "You haven't even asked me yet!"
"So? I know your answer," He replied with his classic, cocky smile.
"I still want you to ask." He raised his eyebrow at you, still remaining silent.
"Just ask her the bloody question, Sherlock!" John yelled. You laughed as Sherlock reluctantly got down on one knee. Taking your hand he finally said those four special words.
"Will you marry me?"
"Yes!" You replied emphatically. He picked you up as he stood and twirled you around. After he finally put you down he kissed you with such emotion you almost didn't believe it was him.
"Ok, ok. I get it. My sister's in love with my best friend and my best friend finally admitted he's human. Now can you please not do that in front of me? I think I'm going to throw up and I promise you it's not this stomach bug I have."

Deice Your Lonely Heart (ao3) - STARSdidathing loki/tony T, 16k
Summary: Inside a snowflake like the one on your sleeve, there happened a story you must see to believe.
Loki, a Jotun on Mt Jotunheim, was all alone; abhorred and feared by the Midgardians and the Aesir he hadn't seen another soul since he ran away as a child. Tony Stark was a Midgardian who didn't quite fit in with all the Christmas cheer. He needed to climb the Mountain to retrieve something and to get away from all the festivities.
Tony was never one to believe in rumors but Loki was never one to believe in miracles. Christmas was just a fairytale and neither of them expected anything else. Grinch!AU.
ever in your favor (ao3) - iron_spider T, 153k
Summary: Peter startles awake when someone shakes him.
“Sorry, honey,” May says. Peter blinks a couple times and she comes into focus, her hair pulled back from her face. She’s trying not to look a certain way, but he can see it in her eyes anyway. She clears her throat, keeps talking. “But it’s…” She glances away, wets her lips. “You gotta get ready.”
He remembers what day it is, and his heart beats like a drum at someone’s execution. But he tries to put on a mask, make it all seem normal. It’s everything but, despite the fact that he’s been dealing with reaping day since he was born, between himself, Ben and May. That fear that one of them could be taken away. Sent to surefire slaughter. But now Ben is gone, taken despite never having his name drawn from a bowl, and May’s finally safe. Now Peter’s name is in there alone. The last Parker sitting on the chopping block. He doesn’t know how to be. He doesn’t know what normal is, when the Hunger Games are looming on the horizon.
horns like a devil (pointed at me) (ao3) - lillupon steve/bucky E, 8k
Summary: Bucky is the delinquent son of the chief of police and Steve is a cop just trying to do his job.
How Harry Became an Avenger (ao3) - molmcmahon jane/thor T, 19k
Summary: After the war, Harry is working as a healer. He's been working in St.Mungo's for 7 years now and needs a change of scenery. The place/choice he picks has some pretty interesting consequences and some intriguing neighbors.
In Which Neither Coulson nor Sherlock are Dead (and John sort of joins the Avengers) (ao3) - DullYellowEye pepper/tony, sherlock/john, bruce/betty, natasha/matt, jane/thor T, 43k
Summary: While Coulson's recovering from being stabbed in the chest by a magical spear, Fury is rapidly running out of Agents willing to play babysitter for the newly founded Avengers. So he calls in Captain John Watson, late of the British Royal Army, and blogger and best friend to the infamously antisocial (presumably deceased) Sherlock Holmes. In hindsight he's not sure if this was a good call or a very, very bad one.
Post-Reichenbach-reunion combined with Coulson-lives, partly because I like looking at cliches from different fandoms, sticking them in one fic and going "now kiss!". Mostly because has anyone else noticed how similar John Watson and Phil Coulson are?
Magic follows courage (ao3) - mtothedestiel steve/bucky E, 27k
Summary: A Cinderella AU. Steve is as kind and brave as his body is frail and sickly, which is to say very. Meanwhile, Prince Bucky must marry for the good of his kingdom, but he knows he will never find love with a princess. Can courage, and a little magic, help Steve attend a ball, and Prince Bucky find his True Love?
Mutantkind (ao3) - TheSovereigntyofReality G, 14k
Summary: Logan is present in Siberia when the fight breaks out. He sees everything and has one thought.
This dickhead needs his ass kicked.
None So Blind (ao3) - prettybirdy979 T, 29k
Summary: They say when you assume you make an ass of you and me.
Matt wishes that the Avenger's assumptions about his seeming inability to read the written word did something as benign as making an ass of him and them. Being called illiterate shouldn't hurt, not when he knows he's not, and it's not like he can tell them the truth.
Not that the truth would make much difference. He's just going to have to grin and bear it.
If he can.
Of Wizards and Heroes (ao3) - storyforsomeone loki/harry T, 85k
Summary: Centuries after that fatal day of the battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter has fallen into legend, a bedtime story parents tell their children, a name whispered around campfires. He wanders the world alone and immortal, until one single reckless moment sends him hurtling into a parallel dimension of heroes and villains. A new enemy arises from an ancient power, and Harry must take a stand as the last wizard to protect this new world. If only SHIELD would stop trying to track him down...and someone could explain what the hell was an 'Avenger' was supposed to be. Honestly, muggles...
Phil Coulson Can Handle Werewolves (ao3) - Xandynz G, 10k (WIP)
Summary: After the Chitauri attack on New York, Phil Coulson is sent off to family in Beacon Hills while he recuperates.
Not surprisingly, it is anything but relaxing.
Scars where all my sins bled (ao3) - Little_Lottie (tfwatson), tfwatson steve/bucky E, 97k

Two hundred and six years ago to the day, Bucky became a vampire. Fuelled by vengeance, he has become his coven’s greatest weapon in the immortal war against the lycans.
Following an anonymous tip, Bucky saves Steve Rogers for the sake of his coven, and maybe for reasons he refuses to examine too closely. But then Steve is bitten and now they stand on opposite sides of an unending blood feud.
There isn't a world for a lycan and a vampire, but somewhere between a subway station and a safe house, a Black Widow bite and the rising tide of lost memories, Bucky finds himself doubting everything he thought he knew - including that age-old rule about never falling in love with a werewolf.

The Last Archangel (ao3) - inukagome15 T, 119k
Summary: No one knows where angels go when they die, not even the archangels. And if one finds himself in a different universe after death? It's one thing to leave Heaven purposefully, it's another to find that Heaven isn't even there. And Gabriel is alone.
The Saughteling (ao3) - Claudia_flies, SD_Ryan, zilia  steve/bucky E, 52k
Summary: James Buchanan Barnes and Steve Grant Rogers arrive at the Jedi Temple just over twelve months apart.
Many years later, a disillusioned Jedi Knight Steve Rogers returns to the Core Worlds at the summoning of the Jedi Council. Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me (I Wanna Be Dirty) (ao3) - OhCaptainMyCaptain steve/bucky E, 11k
Summary: (And Bucky is none-the-wiser, until he stumbles into a screening and sees his supposedly self-conscious boyfriend strut onto the stage in a corset, fishnet stocking, and tap dancing shoes.)
---
On stage, Steve owned that outfit like he’d been fucking born in it. All self-consciousness he’d previously shown in his body was non-existent, as he strutted around with his hands on his waist like a model on some sort of catwalk; popped his hips from side to side and gave these playful, almost sinister-looking grins to the cast and the rest of the crowd. It was so unexpected, but there was also something sexy about seeing Steve up there, acting like that. It was like some free-spirited sex kitten had possessed him or something. Goddamn it, it had Bucky fucking confused.
Vacation Gone Wrong (ao3) - samandbucky bucky/clint T, 3k
Summary: Marvel meets Jurassic World.
Bucky knew from the beginning it was going to go wrong when Clint told them that he bought tickets to the famous Jurassic World theme park. Yet somehow, he allows his boyfriend to drag him out there anyways.

Summary: Clint, Natasha, Steve, Thor, and Bruce of Mystery Inc. get their biggest client yet when they are hired by Stark Industries. Will the team manage to solve the mystery, make a match or two, and secure a tax-qualified, defined-contribution pension account? Or will the various chemicals they've imbibed produce only chaos?

Observers - 7
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes x Reader
Warnings: Snotty season two Donovan and Anderson. Cursing
A/n: If anyone wants to dispute my French, please do. Mine's a little rusty and I don't exactly in it curse all that often. I prefer to do that in English. F*ck you Anderson.
Tumblr media
You followed your brother closely as the three of you walked through the police station, trying not to get distracted by all the things there were to see. It was ridiculously difficult so you tried focusing on the people that you came upon as you walked instead of the stationary things that were tempting to stop and look at. You were examining a woman with a mess of curly hair that was giving off a rather bitter vibe when John stopped in front of you and you ran straight into his back at full speed. You tumbled backward to the floor, holding a hand over your nose as you softly cursed, “Merde… of all the bloody…” Sherlock was looking down at you in an unamused way as John extended a hand. You blushed bright red and shook your head, getting up by yourself to examine the floor, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to embarrass you in front of… well everyone.” Sherlock’s face softened and John wrapped an arm around you with a frown, “It’s alright Squeak. I should have known you were looking around. Is your nose ok?”
You nodded, sneaking a quick apologetic look at Sherlock, worried he was angry, and when your eyes caught his, he had this feeling that began to tug at the very edges of his mind.
He felt bad, guilty even, for making you look at him that way. He didn’t want you to look at him like that. What was it? This feeling… it was annoying. He resolved that it was because you looked dull when you looked at him with that face, lacking the intelligence and fire that usually filled your eyes. He despised dull. He gave you a slight smile, more of an almost undetectable lifting of one corner of his mouth, and as expected you caught it, giving a half grin, which he determined was at least better than no grin. They started walking again and this time you followed but at a slight distance, watching John’s feet instead of looking around like you so desperately wanted to. You didn’t look up until you walked through an office door, glancing at the name on it and very nearly bumping into John for a second time but this time Sherlock’s hand caught your shoulder firmly. He had anticipated that there was a very high likely hood that it would happen again and when you flashed him a grateful look he offered you a small half smile in return. Now that you weren’t moving you could look around properly. The office was well lit- mostly glass walls- and a large desk with a black task lamp and a mess of papers on it sat slightly off center towards the back window. You reasoned that if you ever had to have an office one like this might be nice, plenty of natural light, and then you turned your attention to the man in the squishy looking chair. He was already deep in conversation with Sherlock and you tilted your head slightly as you looked him over from your place behind John. He seemed nice, obviously respectful of Sherlock, and a little cheeky. You leaned around John slightly to get a better look at him and he visibly startled, “Watson, I think you’ve acquired a shadow.” You couldn’t help but giggle, that expression would definitely be going in your sketchbook later, and then offered your good hand, “I didn’t mean to startle you Detective Inspector. I’m (F/n). I hope you had a fantastic holiday.” He stopped mid-shake, “How’d you know I’d been on holiday?” You and Sherlock simultaneously answered, “Tan.” Lestrade’s eyes flicked between you and Sherlock, his hand still clasping yours, “Do you have a last name (F/n)?” You flashed him a grin, “Watson. (F/n) Watson. Johnny’s my older brother.” He released your hand and looked up at Sherlock, “Are you collecting Watsons now?”   Sherlock just shrugged, “I can’t help it if they’re both particularly intrigued by me.” John gaped, “I’m not intrigued with you, you arrogant twat.” You hardly noticed that they had set into bickering, having moved to lean against the doorframe so you could look out on the level since you hadn’t been able to before. Your eyes had hardly finished scanning the area when a brunette man popped up in your peripheral vision and you turned to raise an eyebrow at him as if asking what he wanted. He gave you a suggestive grin, “I haven’t seen you around here before. Could I give you a tour?” You turned him down immediately, not liking the vibe you were getting, “I don’t date law enforcement or married men for that matter.” Sherlock had turned at the sound of your voice and was about to tell Anderson to sod off when he leaned in a little closer, “Who said anything about dating? You look like a girl who likes to have fun.”
All three men inside the office were watching now, John and Lestrade having followed Sherlock’s gaze when he stopped speaking abruptly, and even Sherlock was surprised by what you did next. You grinned seductively and moved ever so slightly closer to him, “Do you speak French, Mr. Fun?”   He shook his head, surprised at your sudden willingness, “It’s Anderson and No. None.” Your grin widened and, in as seductive of a tone as you could manage, you breathed, “Tu as le corps d'un chien et l'intelligence d'un gamin de cinq ans. Espèce d'abruti. Va te faire foutre”
Lestrade choked on his coffee, falling into a coughing fit, and Anderson assumed you said something dirty, grinning like the idiot he was. You called over your shoulder as you made your way to the elevator, “I need some air. Meet me outside when you’re done. À bientôt, Lestrade. Fascinating to meet you, Anderson.” You gave a little wave as the elevator doors closed and Lestrade recovered, “I would wipe that smile off your face, Anderson. She just said you have the body of a dog and the intelligence of a five year old…. And I’m pretty sure that last part was her calling you a stupid twat right before something I’m not willing to translate.” Anderson’s face turned bright red and Sherlock couldn’t help but snigger as John laughed out right, “You might want to stay away from my sister from now on. I can assure you her language will only get more colorful.” The man left, tail between his legs, and Lestrade grinned, “I like her. Will you be keeping her around, Sherlock?” “We shall see.” The consulting detective said with a secretive smile.

WIP Distraction Prompt: cake, summer, pining
It's done! yay!
I Put On The Act
on ao3
“Happy birthday, Martha!” Molly beamed as she entered 221b, cake carrier in hand and hugging Mrs. Hudson with her free arm.
“Thank you, Molly dear,” Martha beamed back and then gasped as she looked down at the cake. “Oh, you shouldn’t have! Could have picked up a cake anywhere,” she smirked  and laughed as she took it from Molly, “Though your cakes are scrumptious so I am not going to complain.”
Molly blushed, “Thank you, I hope you like it. It’s a new recipe I tried out.”
Martha laid a hand on her arm, grinned once more and took it into the kitchen, pausing to show it off to John and Mary and Rosie as she passed by.
Sherlock stood at the window, but instead of his usual facing it to look out, Molly felt his eyes on her the entire time since she entered the door.
Bloody hell why can’t he just look out the window like he always does.
But she attempted a smile at him and he returned it as he closed the distance between them.
Something akin to a comfortable friendship developed since he was acquitted from Magnussen’s death, especially in the lab. But having him closer than she expected here now, her hearts’ hurried pace suggested of feelings that never went away. And she couldn’t help but realize it now.
“Hello,” he said lightly. A pause and he looks away toward the kitchen. “Thank you for baking the cake. I am sure it is quite delightful, like much of your baking.”
“It was nothing I mean I wanted to try a new recipe and I know you love ginger...I mean I think everyone here does, we all eat ginger nut biscuits more than anything else and I saw a ginger and lemon cake recipe and just thought everyone would like it maybe,” she kept her smile unassuming as she could manage but inside she felt the awkwardness eating away at her.
Why can’t you just use your mouth like a normal person around him?
In fact, she knows she can. She has in the past, but those were moments she had an advantage. She never felt the advantage here in 221b in his dominion.
“Perhaps you want to help me with tea? if we don’t intervene Mrs. Hudson will be making tea on her birthday which would be an injustice,” he asked jovially. Something akin to cheerfulness crept into his eyes as he looked back at her. Somehow she found it off-putting since it wasn’t about a murder. Well, that she knew of anyway. But she felt a little more at ease as she shrugged off her coat and nodded, following him into the kitchen.
Martha had the water boiling already when Sherlock told her to get out and go enjoy some time with Rosie and Molly shrugged at her with an agreeing smile. They set to work without a word, as he handed her the teapot and she placed the tea bags in as the kettle finished. He inspected the cups and placed them on the tray as Molly finished and set the pot to steep.
His arm brushed her side lightly as he reached for a plate of lemons. He continued setting up the tray with no pause, but she stared down much too long at the place where his arm grazed her, studying the sensation it caused.
“Are you ok?” Concern filled his voice as he returned to her side.
She took a deep breath, unsure of why this affected her now.
Bloody hell, I’m better than this.
“Yes sorry, got lost in a thought there for a moment, you know how it is,” she feigned calm as she began filling the sugar bowl, but dared not look him in the eyes. She knew a deduction was possible still but not as well as he could if he looked in her eyes right now.
He moved on from the subject and she helped finish the tray and brought it in the room, serving everyone their tea from a small temporary table set up. Mary asked about her family, and she and Molly cooed at Rosie in her carrier.
Sherlock soon emerged from the kitchen with a candle ladened cake all lit up. Mrs. Hudson’s cheeks went scarlet as they all sang her “Happy Birthday.” Molly felt her nerves ease and pure joy at seeing this wonderful woman be appreciated. John offered to cut the cake and Sherlock gave Martha a kiss on her head, as she affectionately patted his arm.
How could anyone not know he loves? He loves Martha like a second mother.
Molly’s face fell into a soft contemplation of his nature until his hand in front of her broke her concentration.
“I assume the baker wants to taste her own creation?” he asked holding out a slice of cake to her, a soft small smile crept into his lips as she turned her eyes up to his.
The others in the room already had theirs and were enjoying it in quiet. Molly held his gaze as she took the plate from him. She brushed his hand, scarcely knowing why she chose to, knowing the earlier effect of his touch. Small hopes she could produce the same in him. She smiled back and he turned away.
“Oh, this cake is delish!” Mary exclaimed.
John nodded enthusiastically with a mouth full of the confection, wiping crumbs.
“Absolutely refreshing on a warm day like today. Lord, the summer is going to be a scorcher,” Mrs. Hudson grinned.
Molly blushed, “I just followed the recipe...well maybe a bit more ginger than they asked for.”
“Perfectly balanced, excellent work Molly,” Sherlock complimented as he shoved another large bite into his mouth.
“Lots of love put into baking always makes it special,” Mary grinned slyly, looking in between Sherlock and Molly.
 Wait…
But she didn’t get the thought completed as Mary rose and kissed her swiftly on the cheek and hugged her tightly. Martha stood and mirrored Mary’s kiss on the other cheek and a quick hug.
“Thank you. You are an absolute doll,” Martha smiled as she pets Molly’s head, righting a hair that strayed in the hugging.
Mary and Martha turn their attention to Rosie sitting in John’s lap. Molly rose from her seat, grabbing a couple of plates to take to the kitchen. But she nearly ran into Sherlock’s chest.
 “Oh sorry just taking these--”
 “I’ll get the plates.”
 “Thanks.”
“No, thank you...for the cake and your help,” he said softly, and she looked up into those all too blue eyes again.
She held her breath as her eyes fluttered shut as he got closer. He leaned his head down and kissed her cheek. The right one this time and a wholly new sensation to her. Third time and yet so different than those before. Did he linger? It always felt so to her, but time stopped every time; it was so rare. This one not an apology or an approval of her happiness with another like a goodbye. It was wholly theirs on even and happy terms. She barely opened her eyes enough to see him smile warmly, take the plates from her unsteady hands and brush past her into the kitchen.
She gulped, swallowing the new nerves and focused on Rosie.
With a big open grin for the baby girl, she asked Mary if she could hold her. Mary happily obliged and took it as a chance to finish her tea. Molly carried her over to the sofa and laid her in her lap to make faces at her. Pushing away thoughts of the kiss and the other moments for the pure joy of Rosie’s smiles at her helped for but a minute.
Rosie turned her head suddenly and Molly followed her gaze to see Sherlock approaching them. He held out his arm to see if she wanted to go to him, and she only smiled snuggling into Molly.
Molly bit her lip to keep from laughing but Sherlock’s fake frown was too much and a snicker escaped.
“It’s to be expected. Children are not my expertise,” he said plainly as he sat gently beside Molly.
“And here I thought you were an expert on everything,” Molly smirked.
Ah, there is that advantage again. She felt more confident and comfortable even though he was sitting very close.
“But I could use your expertise for something other than children,” he said pausing before taking his mobile from his pocket.
Molly caught the gist of what he was saying and covered Rosie’s ears.
“We are not going to talk about a murder victim, with her sitting here,” Molly protested.
Sherlolly huffed in irritation but changed his face quickly to something akin to a puppy dog look.
“Please? I’ll be vague about details.”
God, why does he have to ask "please."
She sighed, “Ok, besides it will be good practice in the future for you.”
Sherlock frowned, turning his head in confusion.
“For as Rosie gets older, I mean,” Molly added, feeling her own perplexion at his reaction.
“Yes...yes of course,” he replied quietly, adjusting his jacket.
 -:-
“So has anything ever happened between them?”
Mary sipped her tea as she spied over her cup Sherlock and Molly sitting close together on the couch playing with Rosie. Mrs. Hudson had gone down stairs to take a birthday phone call from her sister.
John looked up from his mobile. “Hmm?”
“Sherlock and Molly, has anything ever, you know, happened between them?”
John scrunched his face up in confusion, “Naw, just friends. I mean she clearly had a massive crush for a bit but still, she dated others. A crush on Sherlock Holmes isn’t an unusual thing apparently anyway.”
 “Apparently.”
She sat in quiet contemplation for another moment.
“But he has and does use her place as a bolthole at times?”
John, only half interested in the conversation as he scrolled his mobile, replied, “Yeah, I mean they are friends.”
“Of course,” is all Mary said.
But John knew the tone and put his mobile down. “What are you getting at? Because go ahead and get there maybe?”
Mary put on an innocent face, “Just making observations that’s all.”
“For the record, the only one I have seen him even show an actual passing interest in was Irene Adler, though, again, this is Sherlock Holmes we are talking about. It’s not his thing.”
“Mmhmm” is all Mary replied with another sip of her tea.
John turned where she could see his face and he could see her better.
“Mary, if you are trying to matchmake...”
She laughed lightly, “It’s much too late for me to intervene at this point.”
“Yes it is, so stay out and leave them be. If they were going to be a couple I am sure it would have already happened.”
She shook her head at him.
 “What?”
“You see, but do not perceive, John Watson.”
He sighed, “Look, Sherlock is a dangerous and unpredictable man at times. A recovering addict at best. Molly is the epitome of domestic life. She has a cat, dresses like she is working with her grandmother’s closet, though I do think that has improved some, but still. She is quiet nights at home by the fire and he is running into buildings on fire.”
Mary patted his hand, “There are the ones, a type that makes sense if we list the obvious but at the same time, we could never be truly happy with. “
His face remained blank so she continued.
“We also have the type that doesn’t make sense but we want it anyway,” She bit her lip. “Maybe they are better or smarter or kinder or more stable than we could ever hope to be. We feel at a disadvantage and yet... we want it anyway. Perhaps we just keep it to wishful thinking. Oh, but what a terrible thing to do, no?”
John furrowed his brow, watching Sherlock and Molly playing with Rosie, making funny faces as she giggled. They sat with their sides touching, and even John could observe the look on contentment on his best friend’s face.
He murmured, “Yes...perhaps a terrible thing indeed.”

Part Two of the List of Sherlolly Prompts as of 3/8/2017
As of 12/5/2017 the Prompt List has been split into two parts due to size.
Here is a link to the very informal Sherlolly Prompt Fest FAQ
Below is the list of prompts submitted to @holidaysat221b.  Where possible, we have tagged the submitter so that credit can be given if a prompt inspires someone to write a fic or create a piece of art.
Some submissions were specifically labeled as Art prompts, and they have been separated into their own category.  However, if you are a fic writer and one of the art prompts calls to you, go for it.  Likewise, if one of the other prompts makes you want to draw, have fun with it!  Prompts that have been filled at least once will be followed with an *, in case that influences your decision to work with one.
We only ask three things:
1) If you use one of the prompts on this list, please remember to credit the prompt and prompter somewhere in your fic summary/art description or in your notes.  It’s the polite thing to do.
2)  Please submit an ask or message @holidaysat221b with a link to your work, the prompt you used, the prompter, and how you want to be identified (in cases where your Tumblr and fic/artist name are different).  This will allow us to share your work with our followers and tag the prompter (if possible).
3)  We have set up a Sherlolly Prompt Fest Collection on Ao3.  If you are planning to post your fic or art on Ao3 and would like to add it to the collection, please do.  As of this moment, the collection is open and unmoderated.  Please remember to credit the prompt and prompter in your fic/art notes.
On to the Prompts as of March 8, 2017
Everything Else
Sherlock is undercover.  He’s renting a small place and he’s trying to fit in with the extremely old fashioned community that is probably hiding a deadly smuggling ring or something equally bad.  He ends up calling on Molly to come help.  Since he’s already established as an unmarried man, his ‘sister’ (or other family member) arrives for a visit.  Cue living in the same house while hot for each other type shenanigans while pretending to be siblings under the watchful eye of some suspicious townspeople.  -  Anonymous
Molly’s school reunion – Sherlock assumes he’ll be needed to help Molly show everyone up.  The catch:  Molly’s been a beloved peer, so it’s him who gets the obligatory “you hurt her, we’ll end you". :)  -  @mychakk
Sherlock sees a woman on the street.  Instantly intrigued (you can choose as to why) he follows her.  -  @mel-loves-all
Molly loves wearing Sherlock’s house robes.  -  @mel-loves-all
Molly has a piece of body piercing jewelry or a tattoo located somewhere that surprises and titillates Sherlock.  -  @mel-loves-all  *
Whenever Molly is close, Sherlock unconsciously always seems to need to touch her in some way after they start dating.  He doesn’t notice it, but Molly does.  -  @mel-loves-all
A midnight dance.  -  @mel-loves-all
John tries to set up Sherlock with a girl.  Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of contenders.  And what does Molly have to say about that?  -  The Silent Fangirl
Through unexpected circumstances, Sherlock and Molly get engaged.  It doesn’t end well.  Crack!fic  -  The Silent Fangirl
Eurus Holmes ships the Sherlolly.  So does John and Mycroft.  Soon, everyone gets dragged into the Sherlolly craze.  Crack!fic  -  The Silent Fangirl
Molly lives in the flat across from 221B.  You know, the one that exploded?   Yeah.  But before that, there was a) looking at the hot naked guy in the window b) said hot naked guy crashing into her flat because he just wants to c) her traitorous cat crossing the street to hot naked guy’s flat.  -  The Silent Fangirl
Molly stops being Sherlock’s pathologist, and starts being THE Pathologist.  BAMF!Molly  -  The Silent Fangirl
This, Sherlock thinks through the haze of cocaine, truly is the worst form of torture.  Mycroft and Molly’s wedding through Sherlock’s drug-addled POV.  -  The Silent Fangirl
Molly commits suicide, but only Sherlock thinks she didn’t.  He may not be wrong.  -  The Silent Fangirl
When John Watson dies, Rosie is given into the care of her godparents.   Problem is, they aren’t exactly on speaking terms.  Bonus for Harry Watson appearance!  -  The Silent Fangirl
Molly nearly gets hit by a speeding car … until Sherlock pushes her out of the way and gets hit himself.  H/C  -  The Silent Fangirl
Molly in labor.  After watching Mary in labor in TST, I kinda wanna see a funny take on Molly giving birth to her and Sherlock’s child.  Maybe something like Molly being in pain, she wishes out loud she’d never had sex with Sherlock, while Sherlock logically points out how well they emotionally and biologically fit together.  -  Anonymous
Fluff. Molly has been hospitalized for whatever reason.  She decides that she is feeling better and just wants to go home.  However, the hospital does not want to release her yet.  So Molly decides to leave AMA (against medical advice).  She feels she can recover at home just as well and also she is eager to get back to work.  Besides, who is going to know?   This is something someone might expect from Sherlock, but not Molly.   How long before he finds out?  What is his reaction?  -   @shadowyqueenbeard
Angst.  Molly discovers she is pregnant and is not happy about it.  Although she would love to have a baby at some point, right now is not the time.  She and Sherlock do not have a commitment and her career is going well.  She plans to terminate the pregnancy.  Sherlock finds out and tries to stop her.  He please with her to change her mind, marry him and be a family.  Is this just a control tactic or does he really love her?  -  @shadowyqueenbeard  *
Molly discovers there is Sherlock Holmes RPF (Real Person Fiction) on the internet.  She’s shocked to find that someone called Sherlolly4vr74 has been writing fic about her and Sherlock, and they seem to have a dedicated fan base.  Some of the stories are very sweet and romantic, some of them are hot enough to give her NSFW ideas.  Who is Sherlolly4vr74 (Is it Anderson?  Mrs Hudson?  Mary?  John?  I bet it’s John.) and is Sherlock aware of the stories?  -  @darnedchild *
Eurus has been known to put on a persona and disguise to get close to people for information – she was Faith for Sherlock, E and the psychiatrist for John.  What if she had also spent some time around Molly prior to the events at Sherrinford?  What information would she have gleaned about her brother and his pathologist?  -  @darnedchild
Can they be R rated. Because I feel Sherlock would not muck about, with telling Molly what he would like to do to her, he would not use cute little names for all her female parts and would go into great detail, like all his cases. She would be his very serious case. Yes he would most defiantly do a lot of research on pleasing her. Write it however you are most comfortable with.  -  @oliverfel4
Sherlock and Molly are getting married!  It’s time to work on the guest list for the wedding, and suddenly they are faced with the question—Do they let Euros come, or not?  -  @celticmoonbeam
Shipwrecked Sherlolly—Sherlock saves Molly from drowning.  -  Anonymous
Euros leads Sherlock to believe that he failed, and Molly was killed after the ILY scene.  Much angst ensues as he blames himself for her loss … but then we get to see the happy reunion scene when he learns she’s alive.  -  Anonymous
Moriarty trying to up Sherlock by sleeping with Molly, but the joke is on him, as Sherlock and Molly knew each other from secondary school/uni and were each other’s firsts.  They can be regular (exclusive) lovers too.  -  @mychakk
Mary as matchmaker.  At John and Mary’s wedding, Mary feels a little sad when they leave him alone to go dance (“What about you?”).  She decides to make it her mission to help Sherlock find a girl so he’s not alone anymore.  And this former agent has no trouble figuring out the potential between Sherlock and a certain Molly Hooper … (Up to you whether or not you want to throw in a Janine segue before she decides to set him up with Molly.  And feel free to cover Sherlock being shot!) -  @celticmoonbeam
Molly discovers she’s pregnant with Sherlock’s child at the worst possible time:  while she’s with his parents, being hidden away, and the two are pretending to be just friends.  Bonus if they figure it out before they’re told!  -   @penaltywaltz
After the events of TFP, Molly and Sherlock get closer.  Suddenly, though, he pulls away and starts flirting with a coworker of hers, sometimes blatantly in front of her.   It isn’t until an event at Barts that the truth comes out that it was all for a case.  -  @penaltywaltz
Molly finds out that as a child Sherlock liked the book “The Westing Game” and for one of his birthdays she arranges a vacation mimicking the plot of the book, even if none of them really fit the particular characters.  -  @penaltywaltz
Sherlock wants to make a gourmet meal for Molly for a special occasion, but he doesn’t seem to get it quite right.  Fortunately, a friend/relative is willing to help.  -  @penaltywaltz
Sherlock moves in with Molly and begins perusing her book collection, picking up random books that have interesting looking covers, and the next thing Molly knows he’s turned into a fantasy buff.  -  @penaltywaltz  *
Non-established Sherlolly.  Sherlock gets a hold of Molly’s phone one afternoon and can’t resist snooping.  He’s surprised to see a folder in her photo gallery marked “Special” and it’s all photos of him.  -  @penaltywaltz
Have you had sex? – After Euros asked that I somehow thought “Molly??” (as Sherlock says, Irene only texts him, he doesn’t reply).  Later it seems that Euros is the only one who ever has noticed that Molly causes some emotions in him.  So my theory is that something happened between Molly and Sherlock, it happened pretty recently, somehow (stressful night and they talked or they had some drinks and somehow one thing led to another) they ended up having sex; but Sherlock wasn’t good at dealing with it after or something urgent came along and he didn’t really consider Molly’s emotions, he ran off right after or in the morning, and that could be the reason why Molly didn’t pick up the phone first and was in a bad mood during the “ILY scene”.  What happened between them recently is the reason why Molly is a bit rude to Sherlock when he calls, and the reason why she gets so emotional and raw so easily over the I Love You thing, and why she so easily tells him to say it first.   Well, then when Sherlock says “I love you” he finally realizes fully that he really does love her too, and that he is capable of loving that way, and finally sees how easy it could be and what he could lose.  Then after this whole thing he goes to talk to Molly and explain things to her.  -  @lullikiish
Complete me as a person. — Scene that popped into my mind.  Irene has been texting Sherlock again, Sherlock in the end almost agrees to meet her for dinner, but as he’s walking out of his flat while Molly is there looking after Rosie he sees Molly in kind of slo-mo in the golden evening sun holding Rosie and being all sweet.  Maybe already something a bit has happened before between them, some flirting, etc.  The talk with John about a relationship completing him as a person is on the back of his mind.  He walks out, but midway down the stairs while taking his phone out (symbolically in darkness compared to that evening sun) he realizes that he misses that warmth and Molly, and realizes that is what completes him.  He takes out his phone and texts he’s not coming and then goes back upstairs.  Sees Molly all adorable and confused/surprised in this beautiful light and maybe goes to kiss her, etc.  -  @lullikiish
Crack!fic. Molly and Sherlock had a fake wedding for a case. However, when Molly applies for a marriage license to Tom, it turns out the wedding was actually real. She has to approach Sherlock for an annulment. It seems Sherlock deleted the event, because he doesn’t seem to remember it. Or does he? It seems he is too busy to sign the paperwork, he has misplaced it, always an excuse not to dissolve the marriage. Eventually he has to admit he really does want to be married to her. So Molly has to decide between two men. Which one does she choose? 😉  -  @shadowyqueenbeard
Molly, unbeknownst to Sherlock, suffers from psoriasis since her teen years. This is why she’s been adamant about being more physically intimate with him, no matter how much she wants to. Fortunately for her, Sherlock doesn’t care about it at all. Could be a hard T or M rating. Loosely inspired by Loo’s own bout with the disease.  -  @violetjersey *
Fluff and maybe smut, or angst with a happy ending: Molly has a creepy feeling that she is being followed, and goes to Lestrade for help. He discovers that she has a security detail, curtesy of Sherlock. Molly is not pleased with this situation. Sherlock doesn’t understand why not, shouldn’t she be glad that he cares about her safety? After getting an earful from Molly, he cancels the security detail. Molly promptly leaves town without a word to anyone, leaving Sherlock to sweat. Is she okay? Most likely she is on a beach sipping Margaritas, but maybe she’s in trouble. He would like to make amends but first he as to find her. Should he try to locate her or leave her alone as requested?  -   @shadowyqueenbeard
I have read this in one or two fics, but not really developed as a main theme of the story … so: What if Rosie wants to pair John and Molly? How Sherlock will react and … how will he convince Rosie that Molly is for him and not for John. I’m imagining some angst in the middle because the silly man thinks this is a wonderful idea: Rosie gets a mummy and Molly gets a family. In fact, Sherlock sets up a date between Molly and John while he’s babysitting Rosie.  -  @kalkopyryt
Crack!Fic. Molly decides to try speed dating. The day she goes Sherlock is there, deducing everyone else to shreds. He tells Molly he is there purely by coincidence. He’s not trying to thwart her attempts at dating at all. Really!  -   @shadowyqueenbeard
I’m thinking about Sherlock early in their relationship finds someone clothes that are familiar but can’t remember where, but then he watches some old Moriarty video and realizes where the clothes come from. The end is up to the author. Thank you! -  @deemura
Fluff.  Molly marries Sherlock, believing it is a fake wedding.  Molly is livid when she discovers it was real.  Sherlock has a lame excuse.  Molly really loves Sherlock and wants to be with him, however she is not a pushover.  She demands that they have another ceremony, so that this time she will mean her vows when she says them.  Alternately, Molly wants the marriage annulled.  Sherlock is a little hurt, but doesn't want to lose her friendship, so he agrees to dissolve the marriage.  When Molly receives confirmation that the annulment is final, that is when Sherlock surprises her by asking her out on a date. Can she forgive his deception and begin a real romantic relationship with him?  -  @shadowyqueenbeard
Fluff. Molly is getting ready to get married to Sherlock believing the wedding to be fake, when she discovers that it is actually going to be a real ceremony. Will she refuse to walk down the aisle at the last minute, or does she go ahead anyway?  -  @shadowyqueenbeard
Some strange guy is bothering Molly, so she tells him that Sherlock is her fiance in order to make him stop. To her surprise, Sherlock goes along with it. Maybe he goes even further by announcing it to family and friends. Now what does Molly do? - @shadowyqueenbeard

Introduction
I began researching this topic out of ignorance. After being more or less snookered by Dr. Warren into giving a presentation, I chose one of the first topics that came to mind. I hope you will bear with me as I exhume a body of knowledge that has already had several postmortems: that of Dr. Watson's wife, or wives, depending on your inclination. I attempted to gather every scholarly article on the subject I could find, so that I wouldn't have to do all the research myself. The Interlibrary Loan Department in Swem Library hates me now, thanks to Dr. Warren.
We all know Watson's predilection for members of the opposite sex. He remarks on their beauty and dress an uncountable number of times throughout the canon. We know from him that his experience with women extends over "many nations and three separate continents." We know from Holmes that the fair sex is "Watson's department." I will review the various theories on how many wives Dr. Watson had, and bring you to what I believe is the most logical conclusion. It should be an interesting area for exploration. It is also an area, in my opinion, that has barely been tapped.
In 1944, Dorothy Sayers said:
There is a conspiracy afoot to provide Watson with as many wives as Henry VIII, but, however this may be, only one is ever mentioned by him and only one left any abiding memory in his heart.
Less devout scholars than Ms. Sayers wanted Watson to have multiple wives so much that they invented them for him. William S. Baring-Gould points out that Watson marries the American Constance Adams in Doyle's unpublished play "Angels of Darkness." In 1978, Hartley Nathan purportedly found Watson's will and testament in Toronto, Canada, proving that the good doctor had twin sons (Clarence and George) by his first wife Constance, a daughter (Gertrude) by his second wife Mary, and another daughter (Elsie) by his third wife, whose name we do not know.
Two-Wife Theories
In any case, it is certain that Watson had at least one wife. Mary Morstan is explicitly mentioned in several places throughout the canon, starting with "The Sign of the Four." In 1888, Mary Morstan walked into Dr. Watson's life and swept him off his feet. Watson writes:
She was a blonde young lady, small, dainty, well gloved, and dressed in the most perfect taste. There was, however, a plainness and simplicity about her costume which bore with it a suggestion of limited means. . . .Her face had neither regularity of feature nor beauty of complexion, but her expression was sweet and amiable, and her large blue eyes were singularly spiritual and sympathetic. In an experience of women which extends over many nations and three separate continents, I have never looked upon a face which gave a clearer promise of a refined and sensitive nature. (SIGN, pp. 11- 12).
Later in the narrative, Watson says of Mary:
My mind ran upon our late visitor -- her smiles, the deep rich tones of her voice, the strange mystery which overhung her life. If she were seventeen at the time of her father's disappearance she must be seven-and-twenty now -- a sweet age, when youth has lost its self-consciousness and become a little sobered by experience. So I sat and mused until such dangerous thoughts came into my head that I hurried away to my desk and plunged furiously into the latest treatise upon pathology (SIGN, p. 16).
The prospect that the Agra treasure might spoil his chances with Miss Morstan certainly weighed heavily on Dr. Watson's mind. So distracted was Watson that when Thaddeus Sholto bombarded him with trains of symptoms, the Doctor found himself prescribing strychnine in large doses as a sedative. It seems evident that Watson was in love.
At any rate, Watson married Miss Morstan soon after the conclusion to "The Sign of the Four." Watson was 35 and Mary 27 at the time their troth was plighted. The popular view is that Mary died in 1893 or 1894. Holmes rose from the dead in 1894 and took Watson's mind off his "sad bereavement" for awhile with some new adventures. This didn't last forever, as, according to S. C. Roberts, Watson remarried soon after the turn of the century. Holmes himself, in "The Blanched Soldier," remarks in January 1903 that Watson had "deserted him for a wife," so it seems evident that Watson remarried at least once. The identity of this second wife has been conjectured by Chris Morley and George Haynes to be Lady Frances Carfax, and by S. C. Roberts to be Violet de Merville (ILLU).
The fact that Watson married Miss Morstan is well-known and goes almost undisputed. Of course, nothing is so abhorrent to many Sherlockians than a plainly stated, obvious fact. Eminent Sherlockian scholar and author Rex Stout wrote an article entitled "Watson Was a Woman," which, if true, would of course preclude any wives.
On the other hand, there are those who contend that Watson had not two wives, but one. In an interesting twist to the Rex Stout theory, Dr. Robert Katz, in his toast to the Second Mrs. Watson at the 1996 BSI Dinner, held that there was only one Mrs. Watson. Katz's logic was that because Holmes was such an intolerable lodger because of his bad habits and his propensity for getting his roommates into danger, they left him after a short while. This posed a problem for the Literary Agent, who had great success with Holmes and Watson. The conflict was resolved by having several Dr. Watsons in succession, each of whom was married only once.
On the other hand, there are those who claim that our mutual friend had three or more wives. We'll ignore Rex Stout for the moment and concentrate instead on the one-wife and multi-wife theories.
One-Wife Theories
The fourteenth century English scholastic philosopher, William of Ockham, held that assumptions used to explain something must not be unnecessarily multiplied. This "shaving away of multiple assumptions" is known familiarly as "Ockham's Razor." A more simple way of stating the principle is that, all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the best. This is known in science as the Law of Parsimony. There are only a few published proponents of the one-wife theory, but they claim to have Ockham's razor on their side.
Jane Nightwork, in 1946, made the surprising claim that "Watson's second wife was actually his first wife; and there never was a third." Nightwork speculates that Watson and Mary had a "falling out" in 1894 due to Mary's success in her own dress-making business. Since divorce at this time was all but impossible, it is likely that Holmes was referring to Watson's separation rather than Mary's death when he said, "Work is the best antidote to sorrow, my dear Watson" in "The Empty House." According to Nightwork, when Holmes says, "The good Watson had at that time deserted me for a wife," he is referring to the happy reunion of John and Mary in 1902, when the couple decided to have another go at marriage. There is no need to assume that Mary died. This view was later supported by Christopher Morley.
H. W. Starr claimed that the "sad bereavement" doesn't refer to death, but is Watson's excuse to the reading public for moving back in with Holmes after violent marital disputes. Starr blames the switching of residences between Queen Anne St. and Baker St. on Watson's proclivity to go adventuring with Holmes, a habit which caused much marital strife for Watson. The couple finally reconciled in 1902 and left Holmes by himself.
Dan Warren claims that Mary is instead the victim of tuberculosis. Because she must spend so much time in a German health spa, Watson occasionally lives with Holmes. According to Warren, the "sad bereavement" mentioned by Holmes refers to the Watsons' miscarried child, an event which occurred more frequently among women with TB. How much of this has canonical support, I don't know, but it's a good theory, nonetheless. It might be what Doyle had intended all along, as his first wife Louise died after a thirteen-year battle with TB, and took many visits to Switzerland for her health.
Another bit of evidence for a single marriage lies in "The Dying Detective," which occurred, according to Watson, "in the second year of my married life." "The Dying Detective" wasn't published until 1913, eleven years after the presumed second marriage took place. It is evident that Watson had only been married once by 1913 or he would have said "the second year of his first marriage." As he was in his early sixties by in 1913, it is unlikely that he married again.
Three-Wife theories
There is some support for the claim that Watson had three wives. In "The Veiled Lodger," 1896, Watson says he has taken up separate lodgings. Harold Bell assumed that this referred to another marriage. I don't know if I believe him, but Trevor Hall points out that perhaps Watson was going through a mid-life crisis at this time. He was, after all, in his mid-forties. I think far greater evidence for a marriage lies in "The Five Orange Pips," which precedes "The Sign of the Four," and hence Mary Morstan, by a year.
In "The Five Orange Pips," Watson mentions that "My wife was on a visit to her mother's, and for a few days I was a dweller once more in my old quarters at Baker Street." However, in "The Sign of the Four," Mary states quite clearly that her mother was dead and that she had no relatives in England. The statement in "The Five Orange Pips" was later changed in light of this fact to refer to Mary's aunt rather than her mother, but keep in mind that this was a change made after the fact by editors, not by Watson. This instance gives rise to the theory that Watson had a wife in 1887, before he wedded Mary in 1888. A counter-argument is that "The Sign of the Four" is mentioned in "The Five Orange Pips" and therefore must have already occurred. I refuse to admit the late Gavin Brend's assertion that Watson had messy hand-writing or simply had his dates wrong. This happened only three times that I can tell -- once in "Wisteria Lodge," once in "The Red-Headed League," and once elsewhere in "The Sign of the Four." I think it more likely that Watson included the title for publicity reasons.
Four-Wife Theories
In the extreme case, Watson hypothetically could have had at least 4 marriages:
1887 - A short marriage to someone unknown. (FIVE) 1888 - Watson weds Mary Morstan (SIGN) 1896 - Watson takes up separate quarters (VEIL) 1902 - Watson deserts Holmes for a wife (BLAN)
Five-Wife Theories
If we're to trust Baring-Gould about "Angels of Darkness," Watson had a fifth wife in the mid-1880's named Constance Adams. Trevor Hall supports the five- wife theory, citing Watson's wives as Constance Adams, Miss X, Mary Morstan, Miss Y, and Miss Z.
Six-Wife Theories
In his review of the unpublished play "Angels of Darkness," Harlan Umansky claims that the play ends with Watson being engaged to Lucy Ferrier at the deathbed request of John Ferrier. Is Lucy Ferrier Miss X? Or should we add her to the list, making six short-lived wives for Dr. Watson? That is open to speculation, since, according to the rumor mill, the plot of "Angels of Darkness" directly contradicts that of "A Study in Scarlet"--it has Watson working in San Francisco and doesn't involve Holmes at all. It would be nice if the six-wife theory were correct--it would fulfill Ms. Sayers' prophesy of Watson having as many wives as Henry VIII.
Seven-Wife Theories
A case could be made that Watson had seven wives if you juggle the dates around in "The Sign of the Four," "The Five Orange Pips," and "A Scandal in Bohemia." We'll call this mysterious lady Miss Q. The evidence for her existence is flimsy at best, however, so I won't go into it.
Conclusions
Now, given the fact that Watson probably couldn't have divorced any of his wives by the laws in England at the time, this means, unless Watson was a bigamist as some have suggested, that all but the last of his wives must have died, and none of them under circumstances Watson sees fit to describe to the reader. In fact, Miss Q, Miss X, and Miss Y must have died after no more than a year of marriage--Miss Q and Miss X because Watson remarried the next year, and Miss Y because Watson was living back in his old quarters in Baker Street by 1897 (ABBE).
There are two theories we can dismiss out of hand. The first is that Dr. Watson was a deadbeat addicted to gambling.
Look at the facts. Watson is always skipping out on his practice to run off with Holmes. Watson spent a summer at "Shoscombe Old Place" of horseracing fame. He frequently spends half his pension check at the races. Holmes kept Watson's checkbook locked in his desk drawer. Is it any surprise to learn that Watson would be in dire financial straits? Could he have, for instance, had a system of marrying rich women who were at death's door, taken out huge life insurance policies on them, and then merely wait for them to pass on in order to collect and support his gambling habit? Given what other information we have about Dr. Watson's personality, my answer must be "Not bloody likely."
The second dubious explanation is that Watson was a serial killer.
How hard would it be for a doctor to procure poisons or administer deadly infections? Watson does admit to having "another set of vices" in "A Study in Scarlet"--could he be referring to a murderous streak a mile wide? This would make Watson one of the most diabolical, cunning, and daring killers of all time, to stay so brazenly close to the world's greatest detective and yet defy discovery at every turn. One would surmise that Holmes would get suspicious by the fourth or fifth time he was asked to present a ring as the best man.
Or could it be simply that because Watson, as a doctor, came into more frequent contact with women of frail health, he was hence more likely to marry such women? I tend to support this position. Cases could, and have, been made that Watson had as many as seven wives, but I tend to think he had only two: Mary Morstan and the Miss Z of 1903. It is now time to use Ockham's razor to cut through the extraneous theories. There are two strong canonical references to Dr. Watson's wives--Mary Morstan and Miss Z of 1903. The inference that these are one and the same woman is a stretch, and I believe that those who have claimed to have Ockham's razor on their side by saying that Watson had only one wife are misinterpreting the nature of parsimony. 'One' is not necessarily a simpler number than 'Two' when 'Two' makes more sense. In order to play The Game, we must accept what Watson says at face value unless he is clearly, undeniably wrong.

All This Time
Title: All This Time Summary: When Mycroft’s daughter can’t cope with his unbearable behaviour anymore, she decides to make him and everyone believe she’s dead. She goes, after six years, to live with her uncle Sherlock, trying to keep it from Mycroft and to start a new life back in London. But a new case calls for Sherlock’s help, and Mycroft himself is bringing the news to 221B... Author: Niky (@waiting-for-orchestra) Words: 2013 (hehe) Characters/Relationships: Mycroft x daughter!reader, Sherlock x platonic!reader, John x platonic!reader Warnings: some cursing, ANGST, character (fake) death
Request: Could u do a one shot where the reader is mycrofts daughter and he thinks she died years ago but in reality she faked her death because her and her father hated each other and she couldn’t stand being around him, Sherlock her uncle (who is more of a father figure to her) also thought she was dead up until about a year ago when she came to live with him and they are hiding it from Mycroft but he eventually finds out?????? – anonymous
A/N: I fell in love with this request!! This is how I’m introducing myself as the new writer in the team, and also a suggestion to the readers: listen to Tchaikovsky while reading this! I was listening to his music while writing, sooo... Hope you like it, and special thanks to the anon who requested this!
“Daddy! Daddy, look at this! Look, I made it for you! You received a lot of phone calls today and were always saying thank you, I thought it were a special day. Do you like it?” shouted little Y/N, a messy muffin in her chocolate-stained hands. “I’m busy for these things, Y/N. If you had paid more attention, you would have noticed I ended every phone call in five seconds.” “Is it your birthday, Daddy?” “Get out, please.” Mycroft’s tone was cold but calm. “At least tell me how it tastes-” “Get the hell out!” Mycroft shouted, looking only for a second at the little kid running out of his office and going back to his paperwork.
“Uhm... dad?” murmured eleven-year-old Y/N while opening her father’s office door. Her high voice was joyful and she wore a little smile on her face. “Yes, dear, what do you want?” Mycroft didn’t look up from his work. “I’m eleven now. Will I get to go to Hogwarts?” “Y/N please, you’ve grown up and your intelligence is far beyond believing in this sort of things.” Y/N’s smile faded and she closed the door behind her back, sighing sadly.
“I can’t take this anymore, I can’t live like this!” shouted fourteen-year-old Y/N at her father. She bumped a fist on the table they were sitting at, then stood furiously and walked to the balcony. She nodded slightly, looking at the street. “I’m done. I never want to see you again.” Y/N ran away from the hall, leaving Mycroft, who was shouting her name, behind; leaving everything behind. She climbed to the roof, where Mycroft instantly followed, then reached the edge and looked down, nodding again, her eyes empty, the warm summer sun hitting the back of her neck. “Y/N, what the hell are you doing? Come here, now!” She turned to face him. “You can’t tell me what to do.” And she disappeared, to be never seen again.
That had been a long time prior, thought Sherlock, the memory of his niece still vivid in his mind palace. Every moment they had spent together, he sort of missed it, no matter how much he claimed not to have feelings.
She had always seen him as a father way more than Mycroft, and he had raised her like he would have raised a daughter of his; and her fate, her end, was another reason for which he hated his brother with all his might. He wished everyday he had just had the possibility to say goodbye; she had decided to jump in a split second, when she couldn’t keep it all inside anymore.
No one knew she ever even existed except for the people in the family: she was born and died in silence, and it hurt Sherlock way more than a punch or a blade. He just wished he could have hugged her one last time. When he was lost thinking in his mind palace, the image of that little girl suddenly appeared. It had scarred him and had broken almost all his connections with Mycroft. And that was another of those times; Y/N Holmes, rest in peace.
But a knock on the door waked him from his thoughts, and he instantly assumed it was John; that is, if John hadn’t been at home already, since morning even. “Sherlock, aren’t you going to open the door?” The doctor’s voice emerged from the kitchen in fact, slightly annoyed. He sighed, then said: “I’ll go then.”
As the door opened, a puzzled expression made its way on John’s face. In front of him was a – particularly attractive – young woman, with Y/H/L, Y/H/C hair framing her gentle features, and a pair of big Y/E/C eyes. Admiring her, he forgot they were still standing in the doorway.
“I’m sorry,” the woman spoke, “Does Sherlock Holmes live here? I’ve found the door open, I didn’t mean to look like an intruder in any way.”
“Yes, yes, he does.” John said, clearing his throat. “He’s... getting ready.” He added as he looked at Sherlock, who was lying on the sofa, and sent a death glare his way that forced the detective to run to his room to get dressed.
John let the woman in and closed the door, making her sit in the client’s chair as usual. Sherlock reappeared seconds later from the bedroom, and as he saw the young woman sitting in his living room, he couldn’t help but notice her familiar features. “Good... afternoon.” Sherlock murmured, busy trying to deduce her. John tried to refrain from laughing at the detective’s expression.
“No need for formalities, we’re family. Oh, right. You don’t know.” She bit her lip.
“What do you mean you’re family? Am I missing on something?” John asked, his questions ignored.
“Y/N...?” Sherlock was startled. “Y/N, I can’t believe it!”
“Sherlock, who is...?”
The detective looked much more... human, when he hugged the woman named Y/N. But who she was, John still couldn’t understand. “Sorry, you must be John Watson. I’m Y/N Holmes, his niece.” Y/N said, looking towards John and noticing his confusion. She then looked him over, deducing just like Sherlock, "Did you get married?” She then turned to Sherlock, “Did he get married? Last time I checked he had not.”
John’s expression darkened at the thought of Mary.
“Yes, he got married and he has a daughter. Please don’t talk about this ever again.” The detective hurried. Y/N nodded.
“Anyway, how are you alive? And why didn’t you tell me? It’s been six years, six years, for God’s sake! Why couldn’t I hear a word from you? And you were complaining about my two years, John. She faked her death for three times that; in our family we can always do worst than we actually do.”
“It’s a long story... I couldn’t bear the thought of living with that asshole of father I have and I couldn’t think of a better solution. I studied the place anyway, from afar of course. I lived in Switzerland until now, no one ever checks Switzerland.”
John continued looking from Y/N to Sherlock, and from Sherlock to Y/N. Sherlock noticed immediately and rolled his eyes. “John, is it more surprising that my niece is alive or that Mycroft actually has a daughter? Why are you looking at us like that?”
“I didn’t think...” he started, then stopped in his tracks. “Never mind. I’m going out, I’ll ring Mrs. Hudson.” As John closed the door, Sherlock sighed in relief.
“Now, explain.”
“It was me and a guy I knew, we’d been friends for as long as I can remember but of course Mycroft never knew. I told him everything about how my father was being annoying and all and when I told him I wanted to fake my death he stepped right in to help. Good guy, really, with a passion for criminals and crimes, like you. He set it all up, I just had to jump.
“He assured me it would have been alright, Mycroft never saw the body because he never dared to look down, and in fact, it wasn’t even there. We didn’t bother because I knew he wouldn’t have had the courage to look, even from up there. This guy stayed by my side in Switzerland, I knew Mycroft would have been drowning in sentiments and he wouldn’t have deduced anything, no matter his wit. I kept an eye on him, and on you, and John Watson too, but I lost track after some time because I was planning my return to London. I thought living with you would have been the best option, but my friend is staying nearby of course, just in case things turn bad.”
Sherlock listened with a certain sparkle of pride in his eyes. He knew she had done something terrible but couldn’t help but feel so proud of her, being able to do this much with only one person by her side. She had fooled Mycroft Holmes. “So basically this is it. Do you have an extra room?” Y/N added with a smile.
“You can stay in mine. The other is John’s.” Y/N nodded, then glanced to the door.
“I’ll bring my things in then.”
Living with uncle Sherlock wasn’t easy for Y/N. He could stay up until unholy hours at night, or wake at unholy hours in the morning. He always brought in clients, and she had to lock herself in the bedroom during those times. She kept care of the dusty flat, did the shopping, and spent her free time playing her uncle’s violin.
She remembered clearly the days when she was six, when he used to teach her. She had learned pretty well too, and had continued to practice during the years in Switzerland. The violin smelled a lot like happiness and so little like Mycroft, it made her feel calm and it was the only real way she could relax.
All in all, life in 221B had been going on quite well for Y/N, until one rainy day in November in which she heard loud knocks on the door. Sherlock and John were both out investigating a crime scene and she couldn’t receive clients, so she let Mrs. Hudson open the door. But after hearing her voice saying that Sherlock wasn’t home, she heard loud footsteps coming towards the flat anyway.
“Maybe it’s Lestrade, she thought, but it couldn’t be: he was with the boys at the crime scene. Who else could have...
Then it hit her, finally, and she cursed herself for not realising earlier. She tried to hurry to the bedroom and hide, but it was already too late. Mycroft stormed inside when she was just crossing the kitchen, and she froze there, her back towards the living room.
“Who’s... Who are you?” Mycroft asked, noticing her presence.
“Oh, I am... Sherlock’s... girlfriend.” she answered without turning around.
“Oh, he’s always been the sentimental one.”
“And you’ve always been the annoying one.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.” Mycroft moved closer to her and grabbed her arm, to turn her around. When he finally saw her face, he recognised those familiar features. It was unbelievable, but it couldn’t be anyone but her, his daughter. His dead daughter.
“Y/N...”
“You started it. You could have just not cared. Like you always did. You could have just ended it there, left those papers on the desk and left.”
“Six years... all this time... you were alive, you were fucking alive and you didn’t tell me? For God’s sake Y/N, I am your father!”
“My father and the reason I faked my death. I couldn’t just die. Hell, I was fourteen, I had a life ahead of me, I wouldn’t have thrown it all away for you. Sherlock’s the sentimental one, huh? But look at you, couldn’t stand to look down at my dead body, couldn’t come to my funeral, all because sentiments were blocking you, scaring you, because you’re a coward.” Y/N’s voice became a threatening whisper at the end, and Mycroft was frozen by the truth held in her words.
“I know I’ve been a terrible father but my work...”
“You’ve been an ass.”
“Y/N, if you don’t stop this right now I...”
“You what? I’m not a little girl anymore.” Mycroft’s expression softened, but the tension could be cut with a knife. Y/N’s gentle face was contorted into a disgusted expression, and Mycroft’s fingers around her arm were only making her more annoyed. She felt his hold loosen, and shook her arm away. Her father’s eyes, sweeter, met hers, full of rage.
“Y/N, you know, no matter how I acted, I always loved you. Your suicide – fake, as it turns out – was a main thought of mine during these years. It killed me too. I always, always regretted not being a better father to you, really.”
“No. Sorry. I’m really, really sorry. It doesn’t work with me. You are not my father and you never were.” And with those words, she stormed to the bedroom, locking the door behind her – forever.

Dust and Deceiving Death Part 2 - Sherlock x reader series
Tumblr media
AN: I’m so excited for this series!!
Overall Summary: You moved in with your aunt, Mrs Hudson, after the death of Sherlock Holmes only for Sherlock to come back to life. After Irene Adler, Sherlock isn’t exactly interested in people but you…You are something else.
In this chapter: Sherlock is alive and he’s doesn't find you boring. How odd?
Part 1 (Here)
Word count: 2,227
Warnings: None
Previously:
“Who are you?” The man, who’s face you couldn’t see, asked.
“Who are you?” You retaliated trying to seem defensive despite the lack of your trousers. (You had suddenly realised that you were only wearing your night shirt).
“Sherlock. Sherlock Holmes.” The man stepped forward, his face now light up by the pale hallway light.
“Oh my god.”
“Yes, yes, I know I’m alive.” Sherlock’s held up his hands. You ran down the stairs when you saw Mrs Hudson starting to stir.
“Auntie?” You were trying to ignore the fact that a dead man was stood beside you while you knelt beside Mrs Hudson.
“Auntie?” Sherlock questioned. You chose to ignore him.
“Go get me a wet flannel.” You ordered.
Sherlock entered mrs Hudson’s flat and brought you a damp cloth to which you held to Mrs Hudson’s forehead.
“I’m alright, dear.” She muttered as you helped her to her feet. She looked over at Sherlock and suddenly whacked him with the wet cloth. “How dare you! How dare you not come back after all this time!” Mrs Hudson scolded Sherlock, he held his arm up to protect his face and backed away from the older woman.
You watched Mrs Hudson’s eyes fill with tears before she threw herself at the man. Sherlock rubbed her back as she held onto him.
“You’re alive! Oh, Sherlock!” She cried out. Sherlock managed to escape her clutch and gently touched her face.
“Yes. Now, Mrs Hudson, I want to know who the half naked young woman stood in the hallway is.” Sherlock turned to face you again, you folded your arms across your chest and glowered at the man.
“That’s my niece...” Mrs Hudson started to introduce you.
“That much I figured.” Sherlock’s eyes ran over you. Not in the ‘I want to have sex with you’ way that most guys would but more like he was trying to figure you out.
“(Y/n). (Y/F/N).” You told the man.
“And I assume you’re living here.” Sherlock assumed correctly.
“How’d you guess that detective? Maybe it was the bed head from where I’d been lying against my pillow or the fact that I’m only wearing a t-shirt or maybe it’s the fact that I came running down those stairs?” You cocked your head at the man. You were trying to get him to run one of his analyses on you, you had read about how he likes to deduce people on John Watson’s blog and Mrs Hudson had told you some funny stories about it.
“It’s not in my flat, is it?” Sherlock started walking up the stairs, choosing to ignore you. You swiftly turned on your heels and followed him.
“No, I’m one up. My aunt was too upset about your passing to ever let it out again.” You explained. Sherlock opened the door and switched on the light.
You went over and opened the curtains so you could open the window.
“She told me you didn’t like her dusting so she left it.” You watched Sherlock looked around the dust engulfed flat.
“Why are you still here?” Sherlock span around on his heels, his coat swishing by his legs.
“Why are you here?!” You stared at the man in bewilderment. You should be asking the questions here, not him.
Sherlock stared at you with curiosity.
“Why do you care? You don't even know me.” He asked purely out of curiosity.
“Because my aunt knew you and cared for you and you left her alone! You supposedly died two years ago and now you've just waltzed back in here like you had popped out to the shops to pick up a packet of biscuits!” You strode forward so that you had Sherlock’s full attention.
“I had to die to save your aunt and in faking my death I had to leave. The only reason why I’m back because my brother needs me here since apparently I am the only one in his little world that can solve it.” Sherlock explained,
“Mycroft?” You knew about Sherlock’s brother via Mrs Hudson. She had told you a lot of information about Sherlock and John Watson over the past few months you had been living with her.
“How do you know my brother?” Sherlock asked, raising his eyebrow at you.
“Please. I’m related to Mrs Hudson. She’s told me a lot about you.”
Sherlock continued looking round.
“Who’s been here?” Sherlock suddenly asked you.
“John Watson came round a couple days ago to talk to my aunt. I wasn’t here when he was but I assume they came up here.” You informed the detective. Sherlock opened his bedroom door.
“Someone’s been in here. The wardrobe door has been opened in the past few weeks.”
“That was me. I came in here to see what was still in here. To see if anyone, like John, had taken any of your stuff. But alas it looks like everything is here except for the rotting corpse’s body parts which you often left in the fridge I hear.” You admitted, not entirely honestly.
“They were experiments.” Sherlock retorted.
“If you’re staying you should really clean this place up. I think my aunt may have some sheets for your bed and I’ll get the cleaning supplies for the dust and such.” You tucked your hair behind your ears and looked around the place. You didn’t think you’d step inside the flat again.
“Why are you helping me?” Sherlock asked, narrowing his eyes at you as if trying to figure you out.
“It’s the way I was raised. Kindness gets you far believe it or not, Mr Holmes. I’ll be right back.” You go to leave when Sherlock calls after you.
“Oh, (Y/n), you might want to get some trousers too.”
You and Mrs Hudson managed to clean the flat up quite nicely, you had the washing machine on constantly as you cleaned clothes and blankets and other things that Sherlock requested to be washed.
Sherlock went around after you placing everything where he wanted it to be. You had finished cleaning by 3 in the morning, you insisted you get it done before bed and Mrs Hudson retired at around 1.
“So you didn’t actually tell me why you are back?” You stood in Sherlock’s kitchen, sipping on a cup of tea.
“Business. Mycroft believes there’s some underground terrorists in London and wants me to investigate.” Sherlock told you.
“And what about John Watson? Have you seen him? Will he be helping you?” You questioned about of mere curiosity.
“I have seen him and... I don’t know.” Sherlock took a mouthful of his tea so he didn’t have to say much else. You knew you had hit a sore spot there.
“Okay, well, I better get to bed. Goodnight Sherlock.” You poured the rest of your tea down the sink and headed out.
A day or so went by, and despite your constant thoughts on Sherlock Holmes, you hadn't visited him again. In fact, you had tried everything to avoid him.
You knew what he was like, you knew he was attractive and dangerous and alluring but you also knew he was a ‘high functioning sociopath’ according to him. You didn’t want to get involved with Sherlock out of fear that you would one day be a target just like your aunt has been in the past.
You had managed to avoid Sherlock until Mrs Hudson decided she wanted to do up her bathroom and screwed it up by breaking the shower...
You went to knock on Sherlock’s door, you needed a wash before your lunch time shift downstairs and Sherlock was the only one with a working shower.
“Friends...Of course, you go in for that sort of thing now.” You stopped as you heard another man’s voice.
“And you don't? Ever?” Sherlock asked the man.
“If you seem slow to me, Sherlock, can you imagine what real people are like–?” The man asked. You took that moment to interrupt.
“Come in.” Sherlock invited you inside.
“Speaking of...” The mystery man murmured to Sherlock.
“The shower in Mrs Hudson’s flat is broken and I have work in half an hour. May I use yours?” You asked politely.
“If you must.” Sherlock allowed you to.
“And who is this?” The man asks Sherlock, standing up to greet you.
“(Y/F/N). She’s Mrs Hudson’s niece. (Y/N), Mycroft. Mycroft, (Y/n).” Sherlock introduced you to each other.
“Nice to meet you, Mycroft. I live upstairs. I’ve heard a lot about you.” You offered your hand for a handshake to which Mycroft didn’t deny.
“Pleasure. All good things I hope.”
“Questionable.” You replied which made Sherlock giggle and Mycroft’s smile drop.
You then excused yourself and made a swift exit to the bathroom.
“Pretty little thing.” Mycroft told Sherlock.
“Really? I hadn't noticed.” Sherlock pretended like he hadn't but he had.
“Oh brother, as if you’d have a chance.” Mycroft saw right through his little brother.
“Like I’d want one.” Sherlock scoffed.
“You know, little brother, you can have fun every once and a while.” Mycroft smirked, he knew this made Sherlock uncomfortable.
“I might say the same thing to you.” Sherlock then immediately changed the subject by picking up an old bobble hat and tossing it to his brother.  “Let’s make deductions.”
By the time you had cleaned up and changed, Mycroft was gone. Sherlock had busied himself in his work and didn’t even look up at you so you went down for your shift at the cafe.
“He likes you, you know?” Mrs Hudson stopped you as you went to leave.
“What?” You almost choked on air at the statement,
“Sherlock, he likes you. He wouldn’t let me keep you around otherwise let alone use his shower or introduce you to his brother.” Mrs Hudson told you.
“Woah, it’s just him being polite. It’s not like we’re getting married.” You felt your face flush, fortunately your aunt didn’t notice.
“Oh, now there’s a thought!” Mrs Hudson gushed, smiling widely at you.
“Sherlock is my neighbour. Just my neighbour. Nothing more.” You leant towards your aunt, keeping your voice low just in case Sherlock heard you two discussing him.
“Just you wait. I can see the children now!” Mrs Hudson left you be and shut herself back in her flat. Smiling to herself.
You were left with your jaw catching flies. What in the world was that woman on?
Sherlock wasn’t back until the evening. He came up to your flat door and knocked on it.
“Sherlock?” You opened it, furrowing your eyebrows at the man.
“The shop always gives me extra portions of chips. Mrs Hudson won't eat them so I thought perhaps you’d like them?” Sherlock held out the extra bag of chips.
“Thanks.” You realised you didn’t have any thing to put on the chips soon after Sherlock started returning to his room so you chased after him in hope he’d have spare.
“Sherlock! You don’t happen to have any salt do you?” You entered his flat. Sherlock smiled as he already had the salt and all the sauces Mrs Hudson owned on his table for you.
“Am I really that predictable?” You asked, picking up the ketchup.
“Most people are. I don't know many people who eat their chips with nothing on them, do you?” Sherlock made a point.
Suddenly Sherlock’s head twitched at the sound of a female voice. Sherlock went into the hallway but you stayed inside his flat.
“Mary? What’s wrong?” Sherlock asked.
“Some one sent me this,” The woman, Mary, showed Sherlock the text message she received.  “At first I thought it was just bible thing, you know, spam, but it’s not. It’s a skip code.”
“Save John Watson...” Sherlock was able to figure it out. You left your hiding place when Sherlock and Mary raced down the stairs.
“Where are they going?” You asked Mrs Hudson.
“St James church, Sherlock said.” Mrs Hudson told you.
You poked round the front door to see Sherlock and Mary race off on a motorbike.
“He’s crazy.” You turned, smiling at the fact he just stole someone’s bike without a fight.
“He’s Sherlock.” Mrs Hudson smiled back at you.
You had stayed up, worried about Sherlock’s whereabouts. He had been gone hours. You sat perched on his kitchen counter, a cup of hot tea in your hands that you hadn't touched yet.
You didn’t hear the door open or Sherlock’s footsteps over your own thoughts.
“(Y/n)?” Sherlock’s voice caught your attention. Your head snapped up and you immediately slide off the counter.
“What happened? Are you okay? You smell like smoke. Where’s John and Mary? Is Mary John’s fiancé?” You didn’t control yourself when the word vomit hit you.
“I’m fine. Someone tried to burn John alive, we pulled him out and took him to the hospital and yes, Mary is John’s fiancé.” Sherlock pulled off his coat and scarf and collapsed in his chair.
You sat opposite, on the edge of the seat, clutching your mug.
“Why would someone do that?” You asked.
“I don’t know, it’s what I need to figure out. Anyway, why are you still up?” Sherlock glanced at the time.
“I wanted to know if John was okay.” You confessed. Sherlock stared at you again, the same way as before, like he was trying to figure you out.
“He should be fine. We’re just fortunate we got there in time.” Sherlock ran his hand over his face. He was tired.
“Sounds like it. I’ll leave you to sleep, it must be exhausting saving lives and figuring things out.” You attempted to kid,
“Trying to.” Sherlock corrected you.

Part Two of the List of Sherlolly Prompts as of 3/2/2017
As of 12/5/2017 the Prompt List has been split into two parts due to size.
On to the Prompts as of March 2, 2017

Part Two of the List of Sherlolly Prompts as of 3/29/2018
As of 12/5/2017 the Prompt List has been split into two parts due to size.
Here is a link to the very informal Sherlolly Prompt FAQ
3)  We have set up a Sherlolly Prompt Collection on Ao3.  If you are planning to post your fic or art on Ao3 and would like to add it to the collection, please do.  As of this moment, the collection is open and unmoderated.  Please remember to credit the prompt and prompter in your fic/art notes.
On to the Prompts as of March 29, 2018

I love the unplanned pregnancy troupe. Any point in their history (you choose) Molly becomes pregnant but thinking Sherlock won't want to be involved she keeps it from him. - @chiefdoctor
Molly undergoes “kidnap and rescue” training similar to Meghan Markle.  It comes in handy when she does actually escape a kidnapper.  Now she is lost in the wilderness, trying to stay alive using the survival skills she learned.  Sherlock is determined to find her.  - @shadowyqueenbeard
