Part 2 of the adventures of Oraya and Daddy Vincent!
I loved doing the first batch of drawings so much that they're back for more hijinks 💀

Honestly, I kind of love that the tones for the Nightborn duology and Six Scorched Roses are so incredibly different.
Nightborn's a constant bloodbath/fight for survival with goth vibes and a ton of psychological trauma. Oraya is constantly looking over her shoulder. Guarding herself; guarding her heart:

And then there's Lilith, who strolls into a vampire's house and pokes him to see what happens:

also, I just finished the novella six scorched roses (book 1.5 of crowns of nyaxia) and it was so good. like the second 5-star read out of the two books I’ve read from that series. technically, this could be read as a standalone, but the characters will be integrated into the main story.
anyways. guys. that was v good. it was short and so easily done in one read through, but damn, I could’ve gone on for hours.
and the romance?
Because I want only you, Lilith. Whatever of you I can have. I’ll take one night. One hour. One minute.
He was now looking at me as he had looked at that rose — pulling me apart, petal by petal.
And he returned that smile — thing so lovely I barely even noticed the teeth. “I’ll see you in a month, mouse.”

A 5 Star read for me | This book is the novella from the Crowns of Nyaxia series (timewise it plays between book one and book two) and I just LOVED Lilith and Vale. They were adorable. They were super non-toxic. Plot was great for a 200 page book. Amazing.

Daddy Vincent returns!! Suffer my loosely Sephiroth-inspired Vincent portrait, then enjoy the chibi adventures:
1. Kejari story time!
2. Special anti-vampire bandaids that lock in blood smell are crucial during dueling practice 🗡️
3. A chaotic AU wherein everything is the same except Oraya goes to school and Vincent’s in the PTA. Until he eats everyone who bothers him.

• Series Review: The Crowns of Nyaxia •
Hi, hello, I have entered my Carissa Broadbent ✨era✨and I hope it never ends.
And good news for me: The Crowns of Nyaxia series is actually going to be six books, so we still have a ways to go!
But! If you’re the type who doesn’t like a drawn-out series, then this will still work for you because it’s told in duologies.🤩
And this first duology follows Oraya, a human who has been raised by a vampire king whose land is in the midst of a civil war and who enters the Kejari – which is basically a competition to the death designed by Nero. There, she’s pretty much forced to ally with Raihn (your new book boyfriend, you will lose your mind), a vampire who hates her father, in order to survive.
And y’all – there is action and tension and *so much* intrigue and angst (love is a weakness dialed up to 11) and spice, and omg the end of the first book had me by the mf throat because I thought I knew where it was going and it turned out I did not at all!!!
And then the novella introduces you to Lilith, a sickly human scientist trying to cure her cursed people from a mysterious disease, and Vale, a mostly retired vampire general whose blood she thinks can save everyone, AND HOLY BAZOO IT IS! SO! GOOD!
AND THEN!!!! The second book is all angst and bitterness and betrayal and politics and the emotional journey is extremely well-done, and will have you screaming and swooning and gasping and very literally sitting on the edge of your seat because that’a the only posture that makes sense while reading.
In sum: I loved these books. Read them immediately.
5🌟 | 2.5🌶️

okay a theme I find common in carissa broadbent's books (just crowns of nyaxia so far, I haven't read war of lost hearts) is the loss of trust in a parent/guardian 👀 like, vincent lying to oraya about her very existence and her powers, the archessen lying to sylina/vivi about the pythora king (the whole reason sylina joined them), and this may be a stretch but, lilith's father bringing a plague upon his town just so that lilith could live longer with her terminal illness, idk it's interesting

Is there really no fandom whatsoever for Carissa Broadbent on here?
Why?
I mean, there is, but there are about three of us total.
