Woah, I made an animatic!

It's been a while since I've done that, eh?

Please do enjoy! And after watching it, if you want some general AU updates, click past the cut below!

So uh, first things first - there's your explanation for where TDTMD Act 2 Chapter 3 is. It'll come out some time in January unless some big autism moment like this happens again, sorry for the wait y'all!

Honestly, like I said in the video's description, I didn't plan for this to take all month - it was originally meant to be for Eclipse's birthday but. Delays happened.

But enough about the month gone past - or even the year gone past! I just KNOW you all wanna know what we have in store for 2024!

Firstly - TDTMD Act 2 Case 01 will still be coming out as it has been! Right now I have 5 planned chapters for Case 01 - and we're like, halfway there! Crazy, huh? But... What do I mean by "Case 01" anyway? Well, you see, TDTMD Act 2 is actually an anthology of sorts! A collection of stories that are all connected by the theme of the Black Arms' effect on PetalBloom - three stories to be exact! Each case is to have 5 chapters each, resulting in Act 2 as a whole having 15 chapters! Quite a lot! But worry not, those who are looking forward to things other than TDTMD, for I am not going to be writing all three cases back to back, no no!

After Case 01 is finished - I've scheduled myself to write a new side story - the FINAL side story for Arc 1! "But Ash, you finished Arc 1 like 2 years ago! Why are you still writing side stories attached to it?", well, mainly because my brain gets on my case about how the writing isn't as good as my newer stuff and how "unbalanced" Arc 1 and Arc 2 are in terms of content - so I'm doing this to make it shush. But also I saw potential still to be found within Arc 1's events, so, yeah! After this post goes up I'm gonna add the name of that side story to the pinned post for hype and all that :]

After THAT - I'm finally gonna go a bit into the catalogue of documented but not written Origins stories listed on the pinned post with The Englishman With The Devil's Eyes. I've been wanting to get to this one for a while now but stuff kept getting in between me and it. But no longer! For after the last Arc 1 side story, Devil's Eyes will finally have it's moment - no matter what! But... I know what you wanna hear...

New Main Stories?? - Yes yes, I hear you. Enough with the Origins and the side stories - when are we getting back to Arc 2 proper? Well aren't you in luck! Being preceded by a short side story oneshot, Mission: FOX FRENZY - the third main installment of Arc 2, will indeed be the next in line after Devil's Eyes! Not to spoil too much, but this one goes out to all you Garrick fans~! 🤭

Beyond That - I have a whole schedule planned that carries to the end of Arc 2 - both officially with the LONG awaited rewrite of Something to Bond Over, and spiritually with TDTMD Act 3 and more importantly, it's corresponding Moonlight Interlude. (what do I mean by that? You'll see~), but if I were to explain the whole of it now, why, this post would be like the new color of the sky! So I'll do it in increments~ All you need to know rn is that I plan to finish Arc 2 this year.

Lastly - The non fic stuff! The most important, I think, is the whole deal with CoC and it's cancellation. I won't go into the why of CoC being cancelled here - but rather, how it effects TEoS going forward. If you were unfamiliar, CoC was to be a webcomic that was a spinoff/crossover with TEoS. It was vaguely referenced in Innate Affiliation - meaning that it needs a replacement. That replacement is... kind of in the works as we speak - I plan to truly start remaking it into the role in February. All I'll say for now is that it's going to be another Sonic AU this time rather than an AU from another franchise. Other than that - I have a special YT video in mind to come out after the Arc 1 side story, won't say what it is yet but, I really hope you'll enjoy it - it's... gonna cost me a pretty penny. Also, this animatic (you forgot that this was the original point of the post, didn't you?) was made completely in Ibis - but after this I'm completely switching over to Clip Studio Paint! I've already been messing around with it since Xmas though - I'm very much willing to show what I've made with it so far! In fact, I think I'll do that on the main art blog later tonight!

So, for you flesh sonic au I’m trying to peace it together, so here is what i think is happening based on what we’ve seen so far [Im not asking you to tell me if im correct or not, I just wanted to share what i think]:

So, In your post titled ”more of my metal au” we can see metal(or flesh) sonic behind the real sonic, and the shading of the drawing and expressions of the two show that metal most likely had ill intent. Notice how metal grips onto sonic’s arms to keep him in place.

Then in your first post on the flesh au, we can see a skeleton in the colored drawing….. with traces no fur and a green eye. This is most likely the remains of sonic, who metal skinned (we can see metal wearing sonic’s fur) and tore the eye(s) out and took them with him. Perhaps the organs too as in the post titled ”full moon” we can see an intestine like item showing from the inside of metal’s stomach. Based on the state of the skeleton we can assume sonic has been dead for a while.

Later, in the post titled “full moon” and “ rest in peace” we can see metal showing hostility towards tails and tangle. You state that sonic was last seen in the woods, and that many search parties where sent out to find sonic. So im guessing that most of sonic’s friends where out in the woods searching for sonic, here is what i think their outcomes where:

TANGLE: She went in the woods to search for sonic….only to find a sorrowful skeleton with one green eye laying besides it in the moonlight. When she sees metal wearing sonic’s fur, she puts two and two together and realizes metal killed sonic. Out of rage she tries to fight the beast, only to sink into the same fate as sonic. We can tell she’s dead because in the post titled “-.– — ..- / .-.. — — -.- / -.-. — .-.. -.. / –..– / .-.. . - / – . / ……-.. .–.” we can see whisper wearing part of tangle’s face as a mask.

TAILS(my poor baby boy): Like tangle, he enters the woods to search for sonic. I don’t know if he saw sonic’s remains, but based on metal wearing sonic’s fur tails figured out what happened. He grips onto metal and screams “WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM” shown in your first post of the flesh au. Someting after that happens that isn’t shown, but Im assuming tails tried to fight metal, only to realize metal was to strong, deciding to retreat, I’m guessing thats what he’s doing in the post titled ”full moon” Later we see him wearing bandages on his stomach, maybe implying that metal injured tails during his escape.

AMY: Not much is known, but you confirmed she had died.

SHADOW: Like the others, shadow found out the truth, and like tails he managed to escape with his life.

KNUCKLES: unknown

WHISPER: Its unknown what her fate was, but its clear that she found out the truth and is possibly still in denial. It’s unknown currently why metal seemed to be non-hostile towards her

BUT HEY, THATS JUST A THEORY, A FLESH AU THEORY!!!!

oh my goodness you really wrote down a lot , didn't you ? haha

it's amazing to see people analyze the art I do of flesh sonic and piece the puzzles together on what happened . I won't say what actually happens or whether you're right or not because that's no fun but man it's fun to read these ! keep it up !

Cookie Bracket’s Introduction

HELLO Cookie Runners! My name’s DerpyToad, and I welcome you to my tournament of Cookies of your creation, whether by your hand or from another universe, conveniently tagged on Tumblr as @cr-ocau-bracket! It doesn’t matter who you are, what characters you make, or even what you like to make lore of! You will face off against people from across the fandom, and the characters THEY come up with. Before you submit your characters, here’s what you should know about this bracket:

This is purely meant for fun, don’t get at each other’s throats over this PLEASE!

For fairness and transparency in preliminary seeding, characters will be seeded based on the order their forms are received unless a specific preliminary matchup is requested and approved by both sides. DM me on Tumblr or send an ask if you’d like to arrange a matchup. Arranged matchups will be announced.

If you reference other canon Cookies in your character’s lore or backstory (art, siblings, fanchild, etc) or submit an AU character that is based on a canon character (Ex: AU Moonlight Cookie), consider the canon Cookies’ proper pronouns and other canon characteristics before you submit your character.

No NSFW or extreme gore will be permitted. Only very minimal amounts of “strawberry jam” are permitted. What strawberry jam is… is self explanatory.

Teaming is allowed if a matchup ends with a 5% difference or less (limit 45% - 55%) and both sides agree to team up.

Send all your propaganda and additional lore to the blog’s asks, submissions, or tag us on Tumblr with your lore posts. Propaganda art is allowed! Tag us for that too!

Crossover AUs from other series are allowed as long as their lore can seamlessly tie into existing Cookie Run lore. See the Hello Kitty, Sonic, Disney, and BTS crossovers if you’re looking for examples on crossovers in action.

Check your DMs for messages from this blog if action or a response on your part is needed. If a response is not received or receiving a response is not possible for any reason, I will attempt to failsafe the situation myself without your input or disqualify your character(s) immediately.

Draw your own art or sprite edits for your characters. Any kind of media is acceptable (digital, paper/pen, canvas, etc) as long as I know what you’re submitting. Otherwise, provide a source link to the original artist. We can’t judge what we can’t see, and plagiarism and art theft are a MAJOR no-no. Plagiarism or suspected art theft will result in immediate disqualification for all of the offender’s characters. No questions asked.

Your characters should primarily look like Cookies or fit the general style. After all, that’s the whole point of this bracket. Non-Cookie characters can still be submitted (IE Schwarzwälder, Space Doughnut, Sugar Cube Golems, particular Cake Hounds, etc) if they still fit the general art style and you can explain yourself in their lore.

For fairness, I am asking that each person submit no more than THREE (3) characters for the bracket. If you submit a fourth one and I realize, you will be asked to choose which ones you’d like to keep as your entrants. Failsafe Rule: No response? I’ll choose for you.

If this form was not submitted with sufficient details, or if another rule was violated, I reserve the right to deny your submission.

Only one character per form submission. You can submit the form multiple times to the maximum of three characters described in rule 13, but don’t send duplicates. It makes counting harder for me, and it will also get you disqualified.

Patience is a virtue. I’m a human just like you, so there will be things that will slow me down on posting here. Don’t rush me if I do slow down.

If an incident happens or somebody wants to concede from the bracket, inform me of this so that I may consider their removal.

Byes may be awarded if a character is removed before their round is done unless they want to have a stand-in from MY collection take their place.

Once the form closes, I will begin making the tournament bracket and introduction posts based on your own input. If you have any questions, send them my way! If you want me to rattle on about my own OCs and AUs, I’ll gladly do that, as I will not put my own characters into this unless someone requests a removal of their characters to replace them with mine (see rule 16).

How do spells work ? Are they created by the magis themselves or do they change with each transformation ?

Spells at the start are mostly intuitive but over time they become specifically honed by each magi! While they never come up in the AU much I gave each Winx roughly 6 spells from the very start with each transformation starting from Enchantix adding one. Some spells are exclusive to the transformation and some are added into their general pool forever. Below is a copypasted list of the basic spells I've thought of so far for each Winx! Sonic Forces 'Unsung Heroes' AU: Ch.1

AU Overview: A rather short (possibly only two or three chapters or so) retelling of part of the Sonic Forces story, Unsung Heroes focuses on the impact of two of the lead heroes on a new character who finds herself faced with a difficult, but pivotal, choice between fate and family.

What I wanted to do with this was to create a new character who had a genuine connection to the plot-a reason to be present and important-but who didn't replace the OG Sonic crew's roles like the custom character seemed to. Additionally, my hope was to add some background to a few of the heroes--mainly Sonic and Tails--during those six months where Sonic was captured, as seen through the lens of an outsider. Small but crucial moments that show a significant growth in their character. While this story is written from the perspective of an original character, she is merely setting the stage for the actual plot of Forces (Sonic's rescue onward) to occur, in which hypothetically the main Sonic leads would play a much more pivotal role than they did in the game. I have other plans for this character (potentially in the context of a Frontiers AU), but for now she merely serves as a driving force to urge the heroes onward as she continues towards her own goal. No ultimate powers of her own or heroic rescues in front of the whole world. Just dangerous circumstances, mistakes, consequences, and the choices that follow.

“Where are you going?” a soft voice asked. A fox with jet black fur, hardly visible except for the moonlight glowing on the silver of a single ear and the speckles of grey around her eyes, looked up at the shadow standing in the center of a decrepit doorway.

The figure sighed, glancing back at her, though not nearly long enough to change his mind.

“I’m not going to fix anything by sticking around here. What I’m going to do tonight…it’ll change everything, Ai, I promise."

And then he was gone.

He was right. Everything had changed after that day. Her brother had never returned and, desperate to salvage the one hint of family that remained in her life, she was left alone to wander and to search. But her efforts had proven fruitless. If anyone had known something, they certainly didn’t care enough to share, let alone help. Disappearances, apparently, had become commonplace in recent weeks. Her brother was simply the first of many.

The nights that followed were filled with nightmares that began first as quiet dreams, visions of the quiet, peaceful world her brother had promised they would one day find. Like the stories mom and dad used to tell, he’d once told her. But slowly, that world twisted into one she no longer recognized--lonely, and driven by a hushed voice that beckoned her in directions she could not discern.

After a month, the news arrived: the hero, Sonic, had fallen. The mad doctor, the villain at the center of every child’s nightmares, had actually won. That same day, while the rest of the world panicked, the voice from her dreams broke into her reality. Her head was filled with the noise of broken whispers and she fell to her knees, covering her ears as she tried to shut them out. Then all at once the voice unified. Swept up in a wordless trance, she could think of only one thing.

Follow.

She was not there to see the fire that rained down upon the place she left, and would never truly realize what might have become of her had she stayed.

After that, the voice, and the visions that came along with it, seemed to rise and fall like the tide. One moment she was fine, the next driven to near madness from the indiscernible thoughts that flooded her being. She witnessed plenty of towns and cities in ruins but was never once there for an assault itself. The voice would not let her come close. She did not know why.

She wandered for months, stumbling through burnt villages without sight of a single soul. Her energy was wearing thin, and she found she had all but lost her bearings. She had not eaten in days, and sleep had evaded her for far longer. It was a smoky evening in winter when the fatigue finally won her over.

“I give up…” she whispered, letting the hum in her head overcome her as her legs gave out and she collapsed in the snow.

It was then that, for the first time in months, a new voice reached her ears.

“Hey! Hey you! Are you okay?” She blinked her eyes open to see another fox stumbling through the snow to reach her. When she didn’t respond--she tried, but did not have the energy to do so--he kneeled beside her, grasped her hand, and squeezed it reassuringly. “Just…just hold on, okay? I’ll be right back, promise.”

But a brief rest of her eyes turned into something much longer. When she opened them again, the snow was gone. Instead, a soft blanket surrounded her and a room buzzing with makeshift technology flickered in warm firelight. Upon sitting up to take all this in, a cool cloth slipped from her forehead and into her lap. The sound, apparently, was enough to alert the figure leaning intently over a desk on the other side of the room. With a sudden start, he looked over his shoulder, all but leaping from his seat when he caught sight of her.

“You’re awake!” he exclaimed, tail whisking behind him in excitement. Or…tails, she noticed quickly. “Oh, thank goodness. You had me worried for a second. I dunno anything about being a doctor, and your fever was pretty bad. I-”

Aisling stared somewhat distractedly. She could not remember the last time someone had spoken to her. The other fox, however, mistook her silence for displeasure. “Oh, uh, sorry about that…” he chuckled, scratching the back of his head. “It’s been a while since I’ve talked to anyone besides my machines.” He paused and fumbled with his hands. “And I’m just…well, I’m really glad I could help someone. My name’s Tails,” he smiled kindly, prompting the slightest hint of a grin from Aisling herself.

“My…my name is…” she tried her best to respond, but the words seemed strange at first. It had been so long since she’d spoken. “...Aisling…” she finally managed, relief sweeping through her as a touch of clarity began to return to her mind. Slightly embarrassed to be seen in such a weak state, she pushed the blanket off and let her legs dangle off the side of the bed, leaning in to hear the rest of this new fox’s introduction.

“Nice to meet ya!” Tails grinned, then gestured apologetically at the rest of the room, sheepishly using his tails to sweep a small pile of crumpled papers in the direction of a trash can. The place appeared to be an underground cavern of sorts, but it was filled with all sorts of mechanical parts and pieces, as well as several half-built machines. A singular table in the center of it all lay scattered with maps and blueprints, the pale light of a large mounted monitor shining down upon them. “Sorry ‘bout the mess. The last time we used this place was way back when Eggman built that first death egg. It’s no Resistance HQ but…well, I fixed it up best I could.”

Aisling tilted her head, realizing why he seemed so familiar. “That’s right,” she breathed, an excited grin making its way onto her face. “You…you’re that hero, aren’t you? That hedgehog’s best friend?”

Tails, who had been unsuccessfully trying to stomp the paper-filled trash can into submission, stopped suddenly. His ears drooped, twin tails settling into a low sweep. “…Was…” He kept his back turned to her as he spoke, and she regretted having asked. The events of the past few months had grown fuzzy, and she’d nearly forgotten the very moment that had thrown the world into chaos in the first place.

She heard a sniff and then Tails turned back around, wiping the damp fur around his eyes with a brush of his glove. “What about you?” he asked, a wavering smile plastered on his face. “What were you doing out there all alone?”

Aisling’s tail swept into her lap and she locked her eyes on the silver tip, twisting the fur around her fingers. “It’s…complicated,” she breathed, not entirely sure how to explain that a mysterious voice in her head had been leading her to wander aimlessly for months. “I’ve…well, I’ve been looking for my brother.”

At this, Tails’ expression softened. “For how long?” he sat down beside her, feet dangling off the floor.

“...How long has it been since everything started falling apart?”

“Oh…” he sighed, then nudged her gently.. “Guess we’ve got something in common then, huh?”

It was only then that she saw beyond his smile and noticed just how exhausted he truly appeared to be. With tangled fur and dark circles beneath his eyes, it was obvious he was just as tired as she was. “Guess so,” she replied. It was a strange feeling finally finding someone who seemed to understand. Through it, a touch of loneliness had been taken away, but the sensation was nothing like happiness. The pain in her heart nearly doubled each time she saw the broken look in his eyes.

She realized with a pang of guilt that for the months she had wandered, even with all the damage she’d seen, she had rarely stopped to consider that the rest of the world was hurting as well. In the time since her parents had passed, her brother had shielded her from the worst of reality. She’d grown used to resting in blissful ignorance within his shadow, but that safe haven was gone now, and the sheer brightness of truth stung more than she’d ever thought it could. It had taken quite nearly the end of the world to show her.

He’d left for her. He was gone because of her. How many others might she have helped if she’d only opened her eyes sooner?

And now the fox sitting by her side, who had lost just as much as she, was pushing through his own heartache for her as well.

“You’re better than me,” she murmured quietly after several moments of staring at her hands. Tails looked at her in surprise, but she slipped off the bed before he could argue. Her legs nearly gave out beneath her and Tails leapt up to offer a hand, but she held up her own to protest.

“No, I…Listen, I should leave,” she choked through rising tears, and managed to find her balance. She was surprised to find that the hurt in Tails’ eyes had only grown, and his twin tails curled shyly behind him. Aisling tugged nervously on her braid, avoiding his stare. “Thank you for everything,” she started, then her voice softened once more. “I just don’t want anyone else to get hurt trying to help me.”

She turned to leave, heading for the one exit in the room. Then his voice sounded behind her again.

“It was my fault, you know.”

Aisling paused, ear flicking as she listened.

“The day Soni-... when Eggman won, I was there. I saw my friend was in trouble. I knew he needed help. But I told myself he didn’t because…because I was scared. So I waited. I waited until he fell, right in front of me. And then I fought back.”

Aisling looked over her shoulder and found Tails had turned his back once again. He was shaking, and his fur had shifted just enough to reveal a thin, red scar running down his spine.

“But it was too late,” he continued. “I couldn’t do a thing without him there to help me. So they took him…they took him because I was too afraid to help when it mattered.”

With soft footsteps, Aisling made her way back to the trembling fox. She had little clue how to comfort a friend--she had never needed to--but she recalled how her brother had calmed her when their parents had gone, and with a gentle touch, she laid a hand on his shoulder.

He turned his head to face her and though there were tears welling in his eyes, there was a stark determination in them as well. “Trust me, I know what it’s like to feel like you’ve let everyone down. But giving up on yourself won’t fix anything. You can’t let the things you’ve lost keep you from saving the things you haven’t. That’s…that’s something I should have learned by now.” Tails stopped himself after that, blinked twice, and chuckled lightly. “That sorta sounded like something Sonic would say.”

Aisling smiled too. “We may have just met, but I think that was all you.”

He cast her a grateful glance then sighed, running his hands through the tuft of fur between his ears. “You were in pretty bad shape when I found you, and you’ve still got a ways to go before you’re anywhere near fully healed. If you leave, you won’t last long on your own out there. It’s bad enough for a normal civilian, but…I kinda think Eggman might start looking for you specifically if we’re not careful.”

She stumbled back in shock. “Me?!” she exclaimed. “What do I have that he would want?”

“See, the thing is,” Tails started, sniffing and wiping a stray tear from his cheek. He moved to the large computer looming over the deskspace and began to type in some characters Aisling didn’t recognize. “I didn’t exactly find you by accident. The day that Sonic fell, there was a creature there with some really strange energy. I’ve never seen anything like it before, and I’ve been trying to track it ever since. But there hasn’t been a hint of it…until you.”

“I promise I didn’t hurt your friend!” she shouted nervously, highly concerned about what Tails might be implying.

He whirled his head around, saw her face, snorted, and started laughing. “Well gosh, I know that! No offense, but you don’t exactly come across as threatening.”

“Thank you?”

“No problem! What I mean is, the energy wasn’t exactly the same. When I was trying to scan that monster from before, there was power radiating from him.” The monitor flickered, and several new windows appeared on the screen. Technology was not exactly a skill of hers, but Aisling could still tell they seemed to be showing two different energy signatures, similar but not quite the same. “But with you,” Tails continued. “It’s different. It’s strange, but it’s almost like those energy waves are coming to you. Have you felt anything lately?”

She wrung her hands nervously. The voice…could that be what he meant? She swallowed, ear twitching as she spoke. “I’ve been…hearing things. Voices.” Tails paused as she spoke and he turned away from the monitor, watching her with cautious curiosity. When he didn’t say anything, she continued. “They started out as bad dreams. But then one day, it was like they just took over. I can’t control when I hear them but when I do, I can’t think of anything else. I have to follow.” She took a shaky breath. “I gave up trying to find any place in particular. They wouldn’t let me go where I wanted to…and by the time they finally did, those places had been destroyed. So I just kept wandering. That’s…that’s how I got all the way out here.”

Tails was silent for a few moments, either lost in thought or sympathy. Likely both. “When did they start?” he finally asked, though with a softened voice.

“The dreams started when my brother left. The voices…” She had to think for a moment, trying to sort through the chaos of her memories for any indication of when this had begun. Then she recalled the brief moment of outside chatter and panic before her dreams had broken through. “They started the day Eggman took over.”

Tails sat up straight. Whatever his suspicions had been, it wasn’t difficult to tell they’d been at least somewhat correct. He jumped up and grabbed her hands, all but ignoring Aisling’s shy laugh as he did. “I think I have an idea of what’s causing your problem!” he exclaimed. “I still don’t know exactly why, but if I’m right, I have something that might be able to help.”

Aisling could not help the smile that came shining across her face. The idea of being free from this curse was more wonderful than she could bear. “Do you mean that?” she breathed. He gave her a cheerful nod. “I’ll need a few days to run some tests, but I’m sure this will work. And when it does, we can keep looking for your brother! And you can help us find the creature who started all this.” He paused, and she could see the excitement building within him. “Aisling!” he laughed, his two tails lifting him off the ground. “We can fix everything!”
