Went ahead and restarted Stardew because of weird character/gender feelings. Decided to make a new dude.

This is Beck of Maverick Farms. 27, He/Him. Queer as folk (heh).

Beck is a very curious, knowledge driven guy who is fascinated by life cycles and nature and Science. He also loves mechanics and building. If you're looking for Beck, try around the forests and the animals, down in the mines, or out by the water. He's always looking to learn new things and adores the beauty in the world.

Beck never wanted to work for Joja and got trapped there trying to pay off student loans for a college degree he never finished, for a program he dropped out of, for a school he ultimately left. He still has those debts and is even more in debt now, because of how loans are bullshit.

With the opportunity to start fresh, Beck is going to take his earth sciences knowledge and desire to learn to be laid back and see what he can do in Stardew Valley.

His only plans are to care for animals, pay off his loans, adopt as many dogs as humanly possible, make some friends, and learn to relax.

Who knows, maybe he'll even fall in love and start a family!

His favourite gifts are Earth Crystal, Cheese Cauliflower, Strawberry Jelly, Ginger Ale, & Squid. He hates Joja Cola, Pepper Poppers, Coal, and Tuna. His favourite part of farming is the chickens.

He hates Joja and wants to burn it to the ground and rescue all of its employees. Maybe even Morris. If Morris will let him.

Yeah this is my new Stardew farmer. Enjoy. I hope you like him. You'll be hearing a LOT about him and his adventures.

FINALLY. I'm like 90% done with my house.

The mod that changes the layout of my house is called 'Aimon's fancy farmhouse' on Nexus mods.

Was playing Stardew Valley last night, extremely high, and realized I wanted to install some mods. I'm not new to modding games but I'd never gotten into modding SV so I went to install SMAPI, and holy shit y'all.

The love and care that was put into designing this piece of sortware. You run it and it pops up a command prompt and *it has instructions for how to use a command prompt built in.*

This is the single friendliest piece of software I've ever encountered. There's a meticulous wiki page with screenshots of exactly what everything looks like, where to click, what to type, everything.

It's designed so literally anybody can do it.

And it's designed to not be scary to somebody who doesn't understand computers very well but wants to download mods for this cute little farming game. Deadass had me crying of the amount of compassion and *care* that a whole community put in to make it so accessible, for free.

Humans are good, actually, and you can't change my mind

[edit] Dang this thing blew up! Got an ask for where to find it to start modding so I wanted to stick it here - if you want to start modding, install SMAPI first! If you know how to extract a compressed (zipped) file, you can most likely handle this.

And if the guides are still a little scary, please ask for help! This game and its modding community are for everyone of all levels of tech literacy. My inbox is open.

I said I was going to go ultra light on the mods for the first playthrough of 1.6, BUT there’s a new update for the Elle’s Cuter Animals series and it’s very hard to resist. There are tons of different variants and species you can add to your animals to give your farm some more variety, and since the new Meadowlands farm is meant to be an animal heavy playthrough, it’d be nice to have a lot of different looking animals running around. Also I can have highland cattle. Who doesn’t want a Stardew Valley farm full of highland cattle.

Just look at these guys. Plus void varieties for all the animals, for a little spice! They just produce regular milk/wool/etc, but it’s fun to have!

And that’s just the barn animals! There’s also a mod for coop animals, cats, dogs and horses, all with tons of options (and void varieties, for your evil babies.)

They’re great and all available on Nexus. Highly recommend them! Links in the reblogs, if you want them!

That is so cool! Stardew Valley Expanded is such a huge love letter to the game so to see ConcernedApe not only make this update with modders in mind, but also reach out to the creator of one of the biggest and most beloved mods to help with the game is incredible awesome!
