Pluto conjuct MC — confidence seems to be mistaken for haughtiness. I am afraid to positively view myself, in fear of being seen as cocky. I care too much about others, everything comes crashing down once I am assertive. I got shunned from a cult for being confident in my opinion for once. Stood up for what was right, and I faced the strongest rejection one could— rejection from your entire community. I was homeless, alone, faced to explore inward while the chilling cold floor of rock bottom caved in. I am afraid of the past repeating itself. I’m paranoid of others figuring me out. I am private, reserved, but care deeply about rejection. I loathe it, so I reject you first before you have the chance to do the same to me. Quite a shame, isn’t it. It hurts to be viewed as intimidating, powerful, arrogant. Oh, if only I’d allow them to get a glimpse inside my mind too see how false those perceived attributes are. I am jealous of those who don’t portray confidence as a defense mechanism… those who truly feel it. Being perceived negatively based off my outer appearance. Deep down I care immensely; you just won’t see it until we are close enough. However, I won’t allow you to get that close. The fear/risk outweighs the yearning/positives of connection. Inability to be vulnerable and trust others, for fear of past being used against me.

Lilith conjuct ASC- being sexualized, even though I am masculine presenting. No matter what, there will be people who will have extreme opinions. Noticing people notice you. Overt self awareness. Always prepared for negative looks, feeling guilty and confused, feeling like I am at fault for others’ discomfort around me. Being told I look like a player, bitch, mean, rude, stuck up. It’s quite offensive, but am I just being too sensitive? I don’t know. I am quite lonesome- I interact with very few people. But even then, they only know 60% of who I am. Being gossiped about. It took my coworker a week to approach me because they were afraid of me. Apparently I gave them a mean side eye one time, and they were convinced I disliked them. I don’t remember ever noticing them. People being more so aware of your actions, because you seem intimidating and have a darker energy around you.

Sun square Pluto/Sun square Saturn/Saturn Opposite Pluto/Saturn Opposite MC/Saturn 4H- heavy father issues. Dealt with overbearing control and abuse from my father, only to grow up with the same obsessive desire for control that he had. Realizing this but feeling guilt because of the recognition. Not being able to return to the state of blissful ignorance due to strong self awareness. The need for control feeling so default. A part of my personality ingrained. Realizing my wrongs and using self punishment to regulate myself, because I cannot deal with the blame. Constant blame from childhood. Childhood neglect. Using sexuality as an outlet for control. Feeling power within sexuality, yet fearing it. Severe OCD. Believing the bad things said about me. Questioning my intentions, backtracking. Inability to make a decision. Disdain for authority, especially authority abusing their power. Paranoia, self doubt, never trusting myself. Unsure. Stuck between wanting to stay in my comfort zone versus change. Desire to be assertive but afraid of the power that comes with it. Always 2 steps behind. Always. But never appearing like it from the outside. Having to portray myself as someone you do not want to fuck with, because internally I am fragile, and will break at the slightest brush of criticism/perceived rejection. Struggle to connect with others with the same depth I operate at.

Capricorn 11th house/Cancer moon/7H sun in Virgo- Lonely. People pleasing. Feeling a glass wall between others, not understanding why it’s so hard to put my guard down and let others in. Wanting a community, desiring a stable friend group to care for. Daydreaming about nurturing the people I love… daydreaming about the day where I will be healed, where it will make it possible to trust others once more. Distrust. Assuming the worst in people yet feeling hurt, if they were to do the same to me. So much self reflection and guilt. Acknowledging my wrongs but lacking any self compassion.

Mercury in 8th house/Libra: a deep probing mind that is never satisfied. However, I have Mercury sextile Pluto, which gives me pretty nice writing skills. I love revealing emotions through words or lyrics. I need to understand the smallest nooks and crannies within a subject. Small talk is undesirable. It is difficult to find others who enjoy discussions about the darker, distressing, taboo things in life. Is this because they are far and few, or because I am untrusting?

Pisces Rising- Empathetic to the point it’s overwhelming. Sensitive, punishing self for being so sensitive. Boundaries do not exist. Premonitions, strong gut feelings that are uneasy and often come true. People assuming I look high but feeling insulted because I’m very negatively sensitive to drugs. Looking tired, understanding that people think I’m not paying attention. Looking lost, daydreaming. Sadly, it’s true. I look right through you while we communicate. I am always a few steps deeper, subconsciously. I feel your presence, I feel your energy, and I wish I could be normal and at the same level as you. A constant flood of emotion, afraid of dragging you down with me just by eye contact.

I've had an extremely turbulant emotional life, which I can attribute to many different astrological aspects + placements I have.

It's been strange coming to discover as I get older how much of my world is inside my head, though. How many times I've assumed something, had meltdowns, only to later find out 90% of it was in my own head.

Moon square mars, like my blog suggests. My other blog was sunsextilemoon, but after tumblr flagged my account for adult content, I figured it was best to start over so I could still have reach.

Moon square mars makes one passionate and headstrong. I read that it is similar to the relationship between Cancer and Aries. Cancer, the emotionally nurturing, sensitive, going head to head with the impulsive and self expressive Aries. Aries was always one of my least favorite signs. My sun is in cancer, and moon in virgo. I've always been surrounded by Saggitarius, that's my favorite sign. But I always saw aries as childish and insensitive. I had a roommate, coworker, and someone who has become a best friend who is an aries. So my aries prejudice has been tamed a bit.

I would attribute my intense anger problems to my moon square mars. I don't struggle with it so much anymore, but as a kid, if somebody accidentally hurt me, I would come back at them twice as hard. Like ruthless. I also constantly struggle, on a day to day basis, with this inner conflict between what I 'feel' like I need to do, vs what I want to do. I usually let want win. Sometimes I can get too lost in my feelings, I guess because of my 12th house sun.

Moon Square Pluto.

This aspect I think gets me in a lot of trouble. It's not intentional, of course. But I definitely feel the emotional block. I will be fine, things will be going alright, then out of nowhere, a wave will come and completely knock me off balance. I'll get so overwhelmed and almost hysterical. Sometimes just super moody. and then when it's over, I'm like, what the hell happened? there doesn't seem to be a concrete cause or trigger. It just happens. I'm 27 and it still just happens.

The 12th house placement I think is a blessing and a curse. I sense the strangest of things, and have spiritual gifts. but I've been to the psych ward more times than I can count, and my daddy a crackhead who is also a 12th house sun. I love him of course, but the 12th house energy is obvious. His house has a feeling of being a hut on a deserted island, yet it's in the middle of a subdivision surrounded by other houses. He just gives me tom hanks castaway vibes, even when he's surrounded by society.

I take various drugs and medications to help tame my turbulant emotions and achieve my goals. I do weed often, because it helps with my temper. I'm also extremely impatient. I feel like weed puts me in touch with my moon. You'd think that'd be a good thing, but when your moon squares your mars and your pluto, it can cause some problems.

I also have Sun Square Saturn, which quite honestly, is a PAINFUL placement.

I've had terrible, terrible, terrible depression for most of my life. Completely sucks the life out of me. Apparently saturn can deplete the energy of the sun, and I get depleted baby.

I went to a church service on time, and the preacher said something about "misery being a ship that needs to set sail, instead of being avoided" and that really healed me. I feel like I got so scared of my depression, my own mind and thoughts, I would run around manicly just doing WHATEVER I could so I would not feel that way anymore. I was so scared of it. But sometimes you just have to sit with yourself and your emotions, and grit your teeth.

In all I feel like my sun sextile my moon really saves me. It gives a balanced personality, since the ego and the emotional nature are in such harmony. It's funny because my dad, close friends, and boyfriends almost always have sun trine moon. My little sister also has sun sextile moon. If it weren't for this, I'd probably be much worse off...

I was reading about the challenging aspects of Saturn (squares and oppositions )and the easy aspects of Saturn (sextile and trine), and it was mentioned that sometimes the difference between the two can be that people with trine aspects to Saturn know how to take on their responsibilities and get things done, and they are capable and quite good at hard work, but they also know when to stop, which allows them to be productive without feeling tense about it.

In contrast, when we are in square aspect with Saturn or in opposition to it, we have a tendency to overdo things and not know when to quit. The fact that I have a propensity to do this rather than try to get a good flow of energy for a while, rest when it is necessary, and continue to work on the task afterward led me to believe that this statement was extremely accurate.

After completing a laborious and lengthy task, such as working in the garden, I will be close to collapsing at the end of the week. There were also times when I didn't even bother trying at all at things in which I lacked confidence and instead sat around waiting and hoping that somebody else would do it. Even though I try so much harder these days, I still need to work on my flow, so to speak, but a stressful tense aspect kind of makes you a bit nuts doing things, either you are anxious to finish, or you just crave to do it well, and you don't want to disappoint yourself or others.

As a Sun-Saturn, I have had to learn to be self-sufficient as I have gotten older. However, even though I try so much harder these days, I still need to work on the FLOW just enough to be productive and serve my life so that I don't end up with an achy back, no fun times, and no relaxing at all. This is a big task that I need to accomplish.

If I am strong in my practise (and not overdo it), perhaps in the next life I will obtain a trine.

Venus being conjunct Jupiter that I love! But Sun square Saturn and Venus square Saturn? Work is needed here.

Your identity, personality, what you want to do in life, your love life will become more stable after your 1st Saturn Return, this is after the age of 28, 29 and more so after 30. You might be a late bloomer. You don't really like or respect much what your father has achieved in your career. There was pressure put on you to come across as perfect and deliver perfect results, well in just about every field of your life, even your relationships, partnerships, you just want to get it right. You might also feel you are undeserving of love, but not in this classic way, "oh my not pretty enough", but more like you think you need to fight for love and earn it. Like you need to provide encouragement, support, affection, money for the other person to accept you, love you and be in a relationship with you. Work on self esteem, self acceptance and confidence is needed. You might also have a glow up with time. You might also put more effort in yourself as the time passes. You are very much a perfectionist in love, even though you are a chaotic Scorpio Venus, you want to perfect the craft of love basically. You also need to not surround yourself with TOO MANY suitors, because this will backfire you, with that Venus conjunct Jupiter, you are tempted to do that, when you don't receive enough attention from one lover, but Venus square Saturn actually urges you to be more selective of who you give attention to and be patient, the person you are comfortable, compatible with will enter your life just at the right moment, so truly learn not to force connections, especially too early on or if you are in your early twenties, when you are more tempted to do that. Also, Venus square Saturn, keep those standards high, nothing wrong with that. Your time for love and partnerships with come after entering higher education Venus conjunct Jupiter obviously, but more so after you get your first serious job and your finances straight, Venus square Saturn.

hey y’all! in this series we’ll be covering major hard/challenging aspects (squares and oppositions) to pedro’s sun. minor challenging aspects to his sun (semi-squares/sesquiquadrates and semi-sextiles/inconjunctions) will be covered in an upcoming series, as well as the rest of the major and minor aspects to the rest of his planets, and asteroids in his chart! i also want to note that when it comes to these aspects, they have to be examined through the lens of the entire chart, as they’re influenced by a myriad of factors within it.

sun square saturn (0°00’)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies are in conflict with one another. the sun is representative of the self, outward perception from others, how we show up in the world, and our ego and self esteem. it represents our enjoyment, happiness, and our physical vitality. saturn is representative of long-term goals, how we approach those goals, and more specifically the restriction and difficulty we face in meeting these goals. most often you’ll hear saturn referred to as the “teacher” or the “father” of the planetary bodies, it is the “bar” you set for yourself.

when the sun and saturn are squared in a chart, it may manifest as insecurities or an inferiority complex. saturnian restrictions placed upon the ego can result in feelings of self-doubt and a lack of self-worth, and natives with this aspect may have to work 10x harder to achieve their goals. in youth they may have felt that any attempt they got to express their will was often impeded upon. this can also manifest as a desire to be in constant control of their environment and/or those around them. as mentioned before, saturn represents long-term goals, whatever saturn hits in the natal chart tends to be the area of life or the area of the personality that takes the longest to develop. these people may be considered “late bloomers” and tend to find success later in life.

that success not only manifests in terms of career, money, social status, but also in terms of their relationship with themselves. they can become less critical of themselves with age, but it may follow them far into adulthood if not addressed. people with this aspect can be extremely hard on themselves, especially in youth. saturn can also represent the father/paternal figures in one’s life, therefore this aspect can potentially manifest in a father figure imposing negatively on the native’s identity, or restricting them in some way shape or form from self-actualization (not implying that this is the case for pedro as he’s pretty private in regards to his family/home life, just speaking in general terms for those with this aspect).

on the flip side, when saturn aspects are fully developed and worked through, these can become areas of the personality and of life that the native has the most strength in, so long as you’re working with saturn and not against it. in terms of how this has manifested in pedro’s life, he has the “fairytale” story where he was a struggling actor in new york, working non-stop, seeing his peers excel in the industry, maybe not with “ease” but perhaps “easier” for them than for it was him. it wasn’t until he was in his late 30’s that he got the role of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, and then after that the role of Javier Peña in Narcos.

his breakout role was The Mandalorian (a role he got in his early 40s if i’m not mistaken), and then recently, the role that actually made me alongside most of the rest of the world aware of him, Joel Miller in The Last of Us, a role he got in his early-mid 40s as well. he didn’t become “commercially successful” until later in life. i would also argue that a positive effect of this aspect could be the result of him not “peaking” too soon as an actor. because he had to work harder, he was put in a position where he had to actively master his craft. whereas younger actors (not all of them obviously) may find that success sooner and become comfortable, not necessarily have that hunger to improve, and become “pigeonholed” or type-cast after having one big role.

on the other hand though, and this is my own inference, i do wonder how he’s managed in terms of his own self-image and self esteem. he’s obviously at a point now in his life he has the career he’s been working towards his whole life, he’s said himself he’s enjoying all of the attention, adoration, and praise he’s gotten and even plays into it himself. but one thing that sticks with me is something he said in the THR: Round Table interview in reference to the expectations people had for The Last of Us: “but this time around, i was scared. i was so scared. because there was more of an exposed silhouette, a silhouette of coolness maybe, and an expectation to be met as far as what people’s immersive experience of the story was. and to disappoint them in that regard felt like it would be … i don’t know. you don’t want to let people down, but also nobody’s impervious to disappointing people. i want people to like me.” there are other interviews where he brings up this desire to “be liked” and references to how hard he can be on himself, and i always thought he was being half-hearted until i looked at his chart and realized how deeply he actually cares about the perception of himself and his work from others.

i’m definitely not saying to be condescending, or to infantilize him in any way shape or form. we as human beings are social creatures and whether we want to admit it or not we ALL by default desire acceptance, and WANT to be liked by others. but from my perception, 2023 was his year. he (alongside Bella) was front and center for one of the best shows that came out this year, (and i would argue the best video game adaptation to come out in a minute), he had season three of The Mandalorian come out, he did a short film with Pedro Almodovar, he’s currently working on the Gladiator sequel, and has been coined “daddy of the internet,” (it gives me the ick but if he likes it i love it). i say all that to say, it’s interesting to me that this has been arguably the most successful year of his life, and he seems to be struggling with imposter syndrome. he continues to reiterate how much he desires to be liked, when he’s obviously adored and very much so in demand as an actor.

i also want to address the signs that these planets are in as that also influences this aspect. he’s an aries sun, and the sun is exalted in aries, meaning the planet has the highest ability of expression in this sign. the sun is encouraged to assert the personality and soul’s mission through the courage of aries. on the other hand, his saturn is in cancer, and saturn is in detriment in cancer, meaning the planet finds the least strength in this sign. saturn’s limitations impose on cancer’s desire to nurture/be nurtured, resulting in insecurities and resentment surrounding the expression of vulnerability. those two energies being in conflict can result in a desire to want recognition and having the energy to do what it takes to get it, all the while feeling insecure and unworthy of the goals you’re working towards, even when you do attain them.

alongside that, he has mentioned either being a gemini rising or a cancer rising. if he does have cancer on his ascendant, that would mean saturn falls in his 1st house. similar to the sun, the 1st house governs the “self,” it represents the physical body, new beginnings, and how your identity/personality manifests in the real world and affects your day to day life. having saturn in the 1st house would not only amplify the effects of the square aspect with the sun, but can also manifest in a literal sense, causing chronic ailments concerning the physical body. natives with this placement may deal with fatigue/difficulty sleeping or issues with the joints and bones. this can also influence the feeling of having to “grow up quickly.” they may go from being perceived as older than they are in youth, to then being perceived as appearing/behaving younger than they are with as they get older, and overall feeling happier as they age. feel free to take this with a grain of salt, though, as we don’t have a confirmed birth time for pedro.

i’ll wrap this up by saying this is the strongest (and arguably most important) aspect pedro has, and therefore one of the aspects in his chart that has the most influence over his identity. i’m very much so an astrology nerd and i love it not only when i can see how an aspect manifests in someone’s personality, but the literal manifestations within their life as well, and this is definitely an aspect/placement in pedro’s chart that you can see has played out over the course of his life thus far.

i do personally feel like the effort he’s put into his career is tenfold the amount of effort he could be putting into bettering the relationship he has with himself. as someone who has saturn as their chart ruler, i can completely understand why that would be the case. but there’s a lot of unlearning that needs to take place, not only with this aspect but prominent saturn placements in general. there’s a level of hyper awareness that saturnian people have that can become counterproductive and self-destructive. nobody around them is as devoted to analyzing every single one of their flaws as much as them.

i do have to note that the context is different in pedro’s case as he is a public figure and he definitely is subject to more scrutiny than the average person. and as i referenced earlier in this post, it does mean a lot to him how his work as an actor is perceived, and i don’t think i’d be wrong to assume that those feelings could also cross over into how he is perceived on a personal level as well. this is just speculatory on my end so feel free to disagree, but i wouldn’t be surprised if this manifested in a “self-fulfilling prophecy” type of way in his life, where he already has these feelings of inadequacy, and despite the adoration and praise he receives, he might hear the handful of people saying ‘he’s untalented, he’s unattractive, he’s x, y, and z,’ and internalize that instead because it reinforces a narrative he’s been familiar with his whole life.

and let me reiterate, i know this is a damn near 50-year-old man we’re talking about, he’s been working at this whole life, he knows what comes with the territory, and if he had a choice between this and living a normal life like the rest of us, i’d put money on him not choosing the latter. at the end of the day, people with this aspect have to work towards not worrying about always being “right” or being perceived in an accomplished and positive light 24/7. once they get to a point where they actually alleviate the pressure they put on themselves, they’ll end up finding that they don’t tend to run into as many obstacles, as they realize a lot of those “obstacles” are self-imposed. everything with them boils down to feeling what it is that they deserve. it doesn’t matter how “liked” they are from others, it will always take them convincing themselves that they are worthy and deserving of love and respect, from those around them but most importantly from themselves.
