#the mixture of Russian. Ukrainian. and Polish would be so beautiful and so messy dear lord #they go to church at least every sunday if not more. Fyodor tunes into a radio midnight mass. as usual i am up late into the night planning my future when i should be: getting a good nights sleep so that i even have a future!!

#i have work in seven and a half hours. so i should really be getting to bed #BUT i officially made my final definitive degree plan!!!! i mean not the actual classes but all the requirements i have to meet and how!! #(in order to earn: history and information science double major. with certificates in material culture and classics) #and i’m genuinely excited for every single class i have to take except for human-computer interaction #just cause i know it’s gonna get overly technical in ways that won’t quite apply to my future #anyway every single other thing i’m gonna do is very cool and exciting. so everything is good really #but i should be sleeping. and i’m not. as usual 🤧 #idk wish me luck!!!! i’m so hyped about my degree plan though #i’ll go into more detail another time. i’m very excited #ANYWAY goodnight!!!! can’t be so busy planning my future in library science that i DONT GO TO MY SHELVING JOB #kind of important to actually go to work for the library that employs me…. #and then i might go see a first-printing roget’s thesaurus!!!! or i’ll sleep. we’ll see #followed by lunch with GUY WHO IS THE WORST KILL HIM WITH HAMMERS #(there is nothing really wrong with me he just keeps kind of being mean to me and also expecting me to fall in love with him. but like #extremely passively and not manipulatively it’s just like. hey buddy you’re doing this friendship wrong….) #anyway then i have a class and after that i have an hour to rest. and then a phone call and then a lot of homework #(ten page paper draft due in a week and a half!! so it’s time to start writing the actual body of it) #and then i sleep for a LONG time and then work again on saturday. and then sleepover with somebody i have a crush on?? #and then be normal all day on sunday and do a little more paper writing. and programming homework. and whatever else #and then keep up with the slog for three weeks!!!! and all of a sudden it’s summer!!!! #projects left this year: material culture paper (entirely unstarted. but may research the thesaurus and just win!!!!) #history project (draft due the monday after next and real paper due a week after classes end) #one more programming assignment where i adapt my recipe doubler project (probably. it’s getting stupid at this point but it’s what i got!!) #and a programming test in two weeks and then the final a week after that. then no more programming #and then i just have my weekly latin tests and a latin final on may 5th. and then EVERYTHING IS DONE #ok i got this. sorry for walking through my schedule in the tags it’s how i remember what’s real #can’t believe my fucking partner just kind of walked out on me there hello???? like. we should be powering through finals together #but i’m genuinely better off without him so i guess it’s just whatever. trash took itself out or something?? #anyway. i’m so regular. and i have work in the morning. and i’m going to sleep #thank you world. goodnight

😍 Operation: Gros Michel (SquadOfCats) - 358K, stucky recovery fic - incredible, phenomenal fic - really digging in to trauma & recovery but in a way that doesn't feel too heavy/dark for very long - Steve's POV so we see his healing & recovery, and his finding purpose again. Amazing OCs. Plus a lot of really, really yummy sexy times. Reminds you that hope is an action, hope is hard, and hope has many manifestations of being. also makes you love Florida at least a little bit.

😊 Where The Inevitable Isn't (Survivah) - 41K, sterek, alternate dimension AU - enjoyable dimension hopping fic with Stiles Prime portaling to a more dystopic/gritty dimension where he & D are super together. I really liked the aspect that they could ping pong back & forth between dimensions, it wasn't just a one-time thing

I've literally never disagreed with a take more than this. it's not pretentious or elitist to say that some films are experienced completely differently in the cinema and that it can enhance and transform that experience massively. alien isn't bad because its use of sound and its absence is ten times more effective in a cinema. shut up

#using words like elitist and accessibility doesn't make ur argument better btw. like frankly who on earth is saying #cinemas are the ONLY way to watch a movie. it's simply a better way most of the time because it hits the objective criteria for a more #immersive experience. that doesn't mean u have to go u can watch it online #but it's not elitist to say that it's not as good as a cinema lmao that's just. a fact #ALSO NOT TO HARP ON THIS BUT. it actually is extremely important HOW you experience a film and sometimes it's #sat in bed on ur laptop on sunday evening and that's what makes it so lovely #and then other times it's going out into a dark room and watching it on 35mm and that's what enhances it #would i have liked before sunrise as much if i didn't watch it on 35mm? probably not! would i have liked the outfit as much if i #hadn't gone to the cinema to see it? probably not! #would i have liked the dnd more if i watched it at home on ny laptop? yeah probably! #experience matters it doesn't make a movie bad that's an insane thing to say... #ok I'm done. i know what this person is getting at but it's just silly #I'm especially weird abt this because me and my local vue have a warrior's bond ignore me ig #and belittling the cinema experience by calling it 'movie theatre culture' is just. 😐 whatever

Slow and Steady

I've been making a lot of big changes in life in the last two years.

And just last night, I had my first dream in a long ass time that carried a potent message.

I'm not here to share it all because honestly, this writing would be better for my book I am drafting... but what I do want to say is I am beyond happy to have decisively ended a chapter and then patiently and consistently begun this new one.

As a person who has a tendency to push, hustle, build, make moves and OVERSHARE, it has been nourishing and important to go slow and be quiet. To remove myself from the stagnancy of personal branding. To let myself know, it is ok to start over, AGAIN.

It's funny though—in this slowness, the pace has actually picked up in certain areas of life. I've been working with new clients, creating more tangible objects of poetry and image, taking care of myself in new ways.

But you know what? Slowness is a state of mind.

I am steady in my actions yet I do not rush to reach the outcome.

I communicate with honesty with those who understand this growth yet I refrain from sharing it all because I am still processing my own lessons.

I learn how to listen to the truths of my soul and dive into the records yet feel deeply human.

I prepare for a new chapter where stories come to life in sensorial forms and take my time developing myself alongside my expression. We are inseparable.

This is slowness. This moment of peace with pacing and giving myself permission to not be excellent all the time. To simply be; drink an afternoon coffee; watch this bird outside my window who has the silliest look (you dumb and lovely little pigeon).

I am so grateful for that dream last night that made today feel so real.

Is there anything better than being at peace with your reality? Especially when it's not how you had planned it and know it's all going to change... soon.

so so so fucking tired of people who perceive working in an office as the only “”real”” jobs

#the equivocation of ‘’professional’’ to ‘’white collar’’ #the way people treat those schedules as ‘’the normal one’’ when there’s millions of people working outside those #me every weekend for the past seven months: i only have sunday off #my friends ​every time we want to hang out: can we do saturday instead uwu #and just the disparaging attitude ‘’business culture ‘’ has towards literally any job #tbqh i would rather die than work in marketing and that is. from what i can tell. most of the jobs available #in an office setting #idk maybe this is my outside opinion but a lot of those jobs feel superfluous or like. making their own problems to solve #like that post about the leftist commune where everyone was like ‘i can do admin and project management’’. how is that useful #it just feels very much like the american ideal of ‘if you work very hard you can be a self made millionaire’ #is a lot more prevalent among that class #and like i know it’s also a matter of ‘i make more than you so i’m more important. skill issue’ #but idk i just have the perception that i’m ‘’supposed to’’ go into a field i have no interest in and i’m Doing Something Wrong #and making my life unnecessarily hard on myself. because i have no interest in it #rant paused bc i’m gonna be late to work if i keep going lol #mine

just the other day i was thinking about an orpheus!revali x eurydice!link au because i was listening to 'wait for me' from the musical 'hadestown'. what about a percy jackson au with revali as a son of apollo who resents link because he gets claimed by a powerful god that no one would have ever guessed would have children. i have part of a scene drafted in my informal-concepting style of a fucking writer!link x editor!revali au. i cannot stress to you enough how insane and Not Normal i am about these two, i will stretch so far to make every connection to revalink i can, i might just get a little taller!

BUT TEEHEE i'm hoping i can get That™ Revalink fic out on time for revalink week 🥺 i stopped writing it for a bit because i got some writer's block and i felt like i was putting too much Plot for a oneshot, but we'll see how it goes! i planned some other stuff based on the prompts, but with the way this semester is going, i doubt i'll be able to write full-fledged oneshots on time for each of them so i may end up just uploading them later on after the semester is over (late may, june, etc)

LOL to that last bit, idk....... i've spent so much time on stan twitter and the internet in general i've developed a very particular way of talking. i'm someone who, if you say a certain word or phrase around me enough, i'll start adding it to my vocabulary without really thinking. like the reason why i type 'not' and 'sorry' as 'nawt' and 'sawry' sometimes? my stan twitter bestie lele (i'm not gonna tag her but she's on here as well i know ur seeing this bff i love u sm). how sometimes my emoji usages are random? also partly lele and other stan twitter mutuals who liked to use random emojis that had nothing to do with the topic because it was funny. i feel like the way i type things online expresses exactly the tone and flow i would use irl too 🤞😽
