Movie Bowser manages to be three dimensional, unambiguously villainous, unsympathetic in his villainy, and sympathetic and charismatic in his more wholesome desires.

He wants to be loved, he wants to entertain, he loves classical and modern music (thank you, Jack Black), he's smart enough to know his limits and to construct practical, feasible plans.

He's also abusive, sadistic, spiteful, petty, insecure, and murderous.

I don't know enough Japanese to know if this is true, but I have a suspicion that the names Boku and Doku might be onomatopoeias (sound words) for the hollow percussive noises of skulls knocking into things. Bonk and Donk.

If you think there won't be another Crusher Guard after Hoederer, what do you think Hypergryph will do for the inevitable Siege Alter: Saber Harder?

I'm not an enjoyer so in my ideal world of worlds, Siege ends up just not using the sword altogether and doubles down with a second, bigger hammer and she dual wields those. She can shoot Excalibur hammer beams or whatever but going from her dope hammer to the Mario in Mario Kart of weapons is such a huge letdown.

As for class with the sword, Liberator or Lord would be the obvious choices, but the cultured option would be Duelist.

Seeing your art of Nian being physically dominant over Lava got me thinking about ways that Lava could return the favor. But Lava can't do it the same, because it's obvious to them both that Nian is still the one in control. Except.

Except if what binds Nian isn't physical, but a promise and a threat, and if what Lava uses isn't force but tenderness.

Lava gets Nian to promise to sit still and not move, or else Lava will stop and Nian will never get her to voluntarily do this again. Nian accepts, full of bravado, knowing that she can endure and enjoy any roughness. What will it be? The paddle? The strap?

Nian doesn't realize she's been tricked until Lava pulls out the hairbrush and horn-polishing kit.

The fiend intends to torture the dragon with tenderness, and even when Nian begins to fight back by teasing Lava about betraying her self-image, Lava counters that she's the bad bitch who trapped Nian in chains of her own making. They can stop whenever Nian wants, but Lava might never muster the confidence or trust to do this again. So, is Nian ready to be a good girl?

Nian: "I've made a monster."

Lava: "And I've tamed one."

Hmm! The imagery is nice, but Lava needs to be a bit more tsundere and awkward.

In Volume 10, I’m worried we’re going to get a tragic subplot where Pietro has lost his mind and is trying to bring Penny back even if it kills him.

But since he doesn’t have her core this time, the best he can manage is making someone new who only looks like Penny.

If they do have Pietro try and bring Penny back, it won't be because he lost his mind or anything. He's not that type of character.

He'll be sad, and whatever actions he might take will be out of grief, but imo he's not that kind of person. He wouldn't want to replace Penny like that.

And overall I don't like speculating on negative outcomes for characters when we have no evidence that anything close to that will even happen. It's just putting weird expectations on the writers that they haven't even given us a reason to worry abut.

G1 SG au: Now i need to come up with color schemes for Devcon, Kup, and Alpha Trion and i'll have the Arc's original crew.

For Alpha Trion i thought maybe blue, gold, and white? I haven't even really decided which figure he'd be a redeco of so idk if those colors or their placement is actually going to work.

For others, i have less ideas.

It'd make sense? I think, I don't have Alpha Trion's colors as well memorized as a lot of the others

Staring at Devcon here it might be a good idea to invert his reds and blues rather than fuck with the shades of orange and green-blue you're gonna get.

Kup... His colors are going to be difficult. You might actually get similar reds/browns to Sunder if my color memorizing skills are up to task? Red probably gonna be your friend here.

Race: Au Ra-adjacent fish from the deep sea

Orientation: What is that (Probably pan, and prefers people she gets to know first)

Profession: Traveling spearfisher, trinket trader (unemployed)

P H Y S I C A L A S P E C T S

Hair: Well contained in a fancy bun, with all the ends just short enough. She didn't like it getting in her face during quick maneuvers undersea. On land, it looks a litle rough, accustomed to the water more. Eyes: Blue, with a variable brightness depending on if she wants them to glow bright or not. Bioluminescence yeyaeyayeyae Skin: Abnormally dark, absorbs light when underwater, also has bioluminescent properties to shimmer and glow, confusing prey. On land, the scales/skin have a hard time with how much light there is, she gets burned easily. To combat this, she has a parasol she takes everywhere! Tattoos/scars: No tattoos, maybe a few bite scars from battling fish.

F A M I L Y

Parents: The two most important people in her life - taught her how to hunt and gather, how to live in the depths she was born in. Siblings: She's probably got siblings, but she hasn't seen them in a while. Grandparents: Unknown. In-laws and Other: None. Pets: A large manta ray, a 'pet' of sorts, more akin to a summon. Helps her travel longer distances underwater by attaching to her back, also providing some protection from the sun.

S K I L L S

Abilities: Expert underwater hunter, using a variety of skills to conceal and confuse - kicking up sand, creating little lights to distract as she zips through the seas. Also able to eat most things with fairly low risk. Living in the deep sea's tough. Hobbies: Exploring and collecting trinkets! She enjoys searching sunken ships for harpoons, gold pieces, bits of armor, anything shiny, along with flowers.

T R A I T S

Most Positive Trait: Always happy! Enjoys new things, nothing scares her.

Most Negative Trait: Stupid fishe, too excited about the new world, will routinely get in trouble because of her instinctual curiosity.

L I K E S

Colors: ALL OF THEM!!!! Sure, bioluminescent blues, purples, greens are pretty, but she's more interested in the colors she's never seen before. Smells: Fish and fishblood. She's also taken a liking to a few underwater plants, keeps some close by both to help mask her scent, and just to smell for herself. (I had to look up if fish can smell) Textures: She needs things to be super smooth, or else it'll irritate her skin. ESPECIALLY beds - if the thing she's trying to sleep on isn't super silky, she'll just go sleep in the water, tying her harpoon to herself and sticking it in the sand so she doesn't drift far. Drinks: Originally it was all water water water. Once she surfaced, she quickly realized the power of fruit juice.

O T H E R D E T A I L S

Smokes: Holly's not come across smoking yet. Drinks: She very recently had alcohol in a fruity cocktail, enjoyed it but felt strange afterwards. She got super dizzy, fell over multiple times. Drugs: She's been stung by a pufferfish once… Not good. Mount Issuance: If you consider the manta ray summon an issued mount, sure, but it can only be underwater. Been Arrested: What's that?

The once might and infinite Celestial Serpents were beings of immense power. Their unending coils stretched across all the worlds of reality. Now, they are all but extinct, the decaying corpses leaking their energy into countless worlds, spreading the ideas of their being still despite their deaths long ago. ________ Some designs for my personal worldsetting! There were thirteen species of celestial serpent, one for each of the Thirteen Divine Inspirations of the unreality between stars, known locally as the Obscuraverse. After the Great Sundering War, almost all of them have been wiped out leaving less than a dozen still alive. The Empress Zetsu is the last Azucarog as she killed all her kin, earning her the name "Kinslayer". Celestial serpents have bodies without end and when they die, they do not decay, so their corpses still wrap around reality, bleeding ideas and legends into worlds that have no idea they ever existed.

For the people of Obscuraverse though, the remnants of these beings exist in forgotten places of the world and are worth their weight in gold to extract. Had a ton of fun designing something for my own world and this has been a project I've been poking at for a month and so glad to share it with everyone now that its done <3

He harvests words like wheat, golden and waving susurrus in the breeze. Crisp, juicy apples of feelings drip down his chin as he smiles, speaks; bushels of heart-full, hands-held, arms-full.

This life he's stolen, like a thief darting fervent through the rows of ripened corn, ears open to the sound of rushing, rushing. No time to stop lest someone find he doesn't belong.

He kisses sugar-liquor-sweet one soft finger at a time, plum-dark, wine-stained. The berry lacquer lips. The gently puckered brow. Pressing secrets into skin kept secret, sighs and soft catches and murmurs, murmurs on the breeze.

It's bountiful, this harvest he never deserved. Never earned. Only kept for his own when he found it. Another man's life. A good man. An invention. 

Caleb kisses softly along Essek's silky silvered hair turned gold-edged in the amber light. Essek hums, content, the barn cat whose luck has led him to the softest patch of hay in the loft. Warm and cozy and weightless in Caleb’s arms. Ephemeral. A single breath could scatter it to dust.

He listens mostly to the rhythm of Essek’s voice as he whispers honey on the air. Caleb catches it in his mouth, sweet and sharp and slow. Sometimes Essek kisses like a man bound for the executioner's block. Caleb takes those kisses, too, though he treasures them less than the ones that drip honey and molasses in spring.

Together, entwined, no one may sunder. A harvest ends, a season wanes, but Caleb will find gold in winter, too.

I think it would be neat if Nightingale has taken Shining’s warnings that she would hate Shining if she learned the truth, and she prepares for it. Either she quietly resolves herself to respond to the truth (however she feels about it) by telling Shining to come back and talk to her in a week after she’s had time to process it...

OR! And I think this is the better idea from a practical, “life isn’t a drama so don’t make it one” point of view. Nightingale starts telling Shining ahead of time that if she learns the truth and does get mad, Shining shouldn’t take that as the final word on the matter and she should promise to come back to her in a week, no matter what Liz might say in the heat of the moment. Liz could even make Shining promise to do that, if she feels so guilty about the secret and so sincerely wants to make it up to her.

Either way I think would be a good way to write Liz as having personal agency, rather than treating her like a child.

I haven't scrolled very far on your blog but let me just say that I agree with what you are saying.

Tumblr is so woke it's ridiculously hard to find a someone who runs a blog with the same ideas as me.

I think the Tumblr algorithm creates little echo chambers and - perhaps wisely - tries to prevent warring factions from being in each others faces too much, so it won't recommend anything but bland, mainstream woke nonsense until you follow and like a bunch of things that share divergent points of view. Tumblrtards I've found agreeably likeminded over the years include @cheshireinthemiddle @alaija @siryouarebeingmocked @ultramaga @sunder-the-gold and @philosophicalconservatism
