would love to find a youtube channel that talks about reasonable prepping for things like natural disasters/sudden homelessness and economic disasters because not only have I experienced these but its become a special interest/passion to talk about go-bags and sustainable living and community sharing in times of crisis

except all of the youtube channels I find for prepping are right-winged and chastise you for not hoarding massive amounts of resources in a bunker and think you deserve whats coming if you cant afford the costs

Thinking about these tags from @wazzappp and how fucked up 'fixing' the whole combined breathing/eating tube could get...

First idea: just dedicate the nose for breathing and mouth for eating and separate the trachea and esophagus completely! Of course then issues arise with speech because while the larynx is in the trachea, a lot of speech also comes from shaping sound in the mouth. If the trachea ends in the nose only that's not possible. So options would be a 'tongue' analog in the post nasal space to manipulate sounds, more vocal cords in the post nasal space, something like a bird's syrinx (how some birds sing/speak) in either the post nasal space or in the chest.

Second idea: Snake esophagus! A snake's esophagus extends into its mouth so it can keep breathing while it swallows whole prey. Of course, Jaime doesn't really swallow his prey whole, but now he can! Also avoids the issue with the first idea where the trachea and esophagus have to change places (trachea is normally in front, but if it only connects to the nose it would make more sense if it were behind the esophagus). I think this would be less likely to affect speech? But also I need to figure out how snake noses work? They have nostrils but smell with their tongues, so do the nostrils open directly to the mouth? Would this mean that Jaime would breathe through his nose, into his mouth, and then down his trachea 🤔🤔🤔

Unrelated to the combination breathing and eating orifice thing, Khaji deffo beefs up the spine first, it's where they live after all!!! Jaime can't complain too much, it's not too noticeable unless his shirt is off (and that's not new, what with the scarab chilling there already). Kinda paves the way for other, more drastic changes.

i can’t help but wonder if bells hells’ feelings on the god debate would have been different if fcg came into c3 with an established connection to the changebringer. for the first thirty episodes of the campaign, he performed the exact same healing and had most of the same abilities they do now. that’s why the “how can bells hells act like the gods haven’t done anything for them when fcg’s power comes from a divine source?” argument falls totally flat for me. they have proof fcg doesn’t need the changebringer to be a cleric.

i think that’s a major reason the group doesn’t take their relationship seriously, which is self-centered and awful for fcg, especially when following the changebringer was the first real decision they made for themself. i also get why, on a more protective level, the group would be weary of their friend (who they know struggles with his own personhood) deciding to dedicate themself entirely to “servitude” again—similarly misguided and not at all what fcg wants or need—but i get it.

It's wild to me that in an era of hyperawareness around age gaps in relationships (both fictional and real), I have seen such little discussion about the doctor/rose age gap.

Like she's 19! A teenager! Who canonically says she has not much else going on in her life except her much older love interest!

Regardless of the parts of their love story that were done well, the set up of their dynamic is admittedly pretty weird.

I wonder if the owl beast was not the only one at first. I wonder if there was a whole world or place where there were many owl beasts just living their lives until a collector came. The book says they “clean up” whoever doesn’t listen to them, so what if they did? What if they picked one to trap in a scroll to “collect” and “preserve” and then got rid of the rest? What if the owl beast wasn’t really a threat to anyone but the collector decided otherwise? What if the reason it’s so angry is because not only did it used to be able to go around by itself and not be bonded to eda, but also because it’s still grieving the loss of its entire species and home??
