#tasty complicated father daughter relationship

Oh.
The reason Blitz and Loona dunk on Moxxie so much is because both of them have low opinions of themselves.
Blitz has clear issues with feelings of being unloved, romantically and platonically, leading him to be obsessive over his co-workers much healthier relationship. He sees himself in Loona and wants to be the father he didn’t have, but there’s this disconnect between them despite her seeing him as a father figure (as seen when she briefly calls him dad). Blitz doesn’t know how to be father, so he tries to shower her with affection and make a positive environment to combat her previous life at the shelter. So much so that it looks like he hardly is willing to criticize her, particularly on her attitude and actions as he deems her sensitive. The only other time they fought was the beach episode, and that was because Blitz was feeling overprotective.
This was never resolved, as neither characters know how to have a healthy conversation and Loona believes Blitz will get over the fight. As he always does when she snaps at him.
Speaking of Loona, she had a bad home life and has likely never had any positive figure in her life until Blitz. She’s used to fighting and snapping back at people, likely from having to protect herself as seen in the flashback when another hellhound tries to fight her. The receptionist labels her a nightmare, making it also likely that Loona is used to being put down. So her lashing out and putting others down tracks, as it’s a way to defend herself while also keeping up her tough appearance. Lashing out violently is just one more way of doing that, even if it’s unhealthy.
Moxie has everything these two never had. A loving partner and a genuinely loving relationship, and despite being labeled as pathetic is comfortable with who he is. They lash out and poke at him not just because he’ll take it - unlike Millie who would fight back - but because deep down he has exactly what they want. But neither have any idea how to even begin working on getting the same relationship, so they continue to stick to the roles their comfortable with.

Chapter 5
I woke up to a heavy and warm wight around my waist. As my mind started registering the scene around me, I noticed the soft snores that were filling the room, the strong smell of cologne, the rough skin encircling me, the chest in front of me that raised and fell at a slow pace. At some point during the night, Derek must have crawled into bed, and I couldn’t say that I minded.
He looked peaceful when he slept. No supernatural problems, no feuds, no hunters, just peace. My hand unconsciously landed on his cheek, softly stroking his cheek. Still succumbed to slumber, he leaned into the touch, nuzzling his head onto my hand like a puppy. I wish this could be the way it always was, but now that I knew the reality of the world we were in, there was no chance it would ever stay this way.
Deciding to let him sleep longer, I tiptoed down the stairs to the kitchen where breakfast had already been prepared. I looked around and noticed that their car keys were gone, which meant they had left early in the morning to do whatever it was that they always did. I greeted Brody who had trotted my way from the living room, and filled his dog bowl, adding a few tasty treats. While I served two plates, I put the coffee machine to run, ensuring the freshest pot for the morning. I looked around for a tray to take the breakfast upstairs in case my parents came back at any moment, eating my food as the coffee brewed. Placing some cream and sugars on the tray, I made my way back to the bedroom where Derek was starting to wake up, Brody following behind.
“Morning, sour wolf.” I softly pushed open the door, the tray in front of me. Derek was rubbing the night from his eyes, a soft smile playing on his lips. Upon seeing the man, Brody jumped on the bed greeting him with slobbery kissed. Derek laughed and petted his head as he laid at the foot of the bed.
“Morning,” he yawned. “Whatcha got there?”
“Some eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Also, some coffee.” He took the tray from my hands and set it on the bed. Taking one of the coffee cups, I sat over on my desk to work on the homework I had left pile during the week. Derek grabbed the plate and came to stand behind me, leaning down to rest his chin on my shoulder.”
“What are you doing?” He inquired, downing the food from the plate quickly.
“Homework. You know, the thing people my age have to do to be able to graduate from high school with good grades.” I looked to the side, my heart beating faster noticing the closeness of our faces. “I’m sure you wouldn’t know much about that.”
“I’ll have you know I was a good enough student.”
“Emphasis on good enough.” I booped his nose with my pen and continued my work. “When you’re done you should head home, don’t want my parents catching you here just in case.”
“Why? We’re not doing anything.” He sipped his coffee and sat down on the bed, Brody laying his head on his lap. I turned my chair and faced him, a laugh escaping my lips.
“I think you’re forgetting who you are and who my family is. Apart from that, I don’t think my dad will particularly enjoy the fact that a 21-year-old werewolf is in his teenage daughter’s bedroom, alone.” I grinned. “But suit yourself. I’d love to see how it will play out.”
“Alright, but can I at least take you out some time this week?” My heartbeat quickened, the sound loud enough for me to hear. “Is that a yes?”
“It’s not a no,” I grinned.
“I kind of need an answer,” he pressed. A grin played on his lips by the point he had stood and rested his hands on the arms of the chair.
“How about, I’ll let you know?”
“I’ll take it,” he smiled. “I’ll text you.”
“Alright, I’ll be waiting.” He kissed my cheek and grabbed his jacket to head towards the door. “Where are you going?”
“Home?”
“Not through the door you’re not.” The dumbfounded look on his face was hilarious. “what would I do if my parents walked in.”
“I’m fast, you know. Like supernaturally fast.”
“Mm, I’ve seen you. Not fast enough.”
“Fine,” he surrendered. “Keep watch of your phone.”
“I will,” I smiled. He took a step back and in the blink of an eye, he was gone. Brody got alerted by the sudden move and jumped off the bed to bark at the window, standing on his hind legs to prop his eye out. I joined his side and saw Derek standing normally in my backyard as if he hadn’t just jumped out of a two-story window. He waved and I waved back as he became a blur, vanishing before my very eyes.
I slumped down on my bed and ran my hands over my face. What was I doing? There were so many things that were pit against us. My 18th birthday was still a little less than a year away, he had something going on with Erica, my family and he are natural-born enemies, we are currently under the terror of a reptilian shapeshifting Jackson, and that was just scratching the surface. I couldn’t scrutinize why he would ask me out too much, it was probably not even in a romantic way. It could just well be that he wanted to keep an eye on me since I was new to this whole werewolf, Kanima, hunter thing.
A couple of hours went by where I took Brody out for a walk, finished what was left of my homework, and started watching a movie when my phone went off.
“Hey, I heard the good news! You’re staying in town.”
“Hey, Allison. Yeah, it looks that way.”
“Well then, I believe you owe some people an apology.”
“What could you possibly mean?” I scoffed. But she was right, as hard as it was to admit.
“Don’t act dumb, (Y/N). You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
“I don’t like it when you’re right,” I sighed. “What do you think I should do?”
“I could invite them over to your house and you could apologize to them. They never object to free pizza.”
I was glad. Instead of sulking on the 'he likes me, he likes me not' nonsense, I prepared the house for Allison and her friends, the people I hope to win over. One by one they arrived at my doorstep. Scott, Stiles, Lydia, and Allison. I had put out some snacks and the pizza I had bought. Scott and Stiles were not shy about their hunger as they dove in right away.
"So, what's the purpose of this meeting?" Lydia asked, her usual cocky attitude on full show.
"Uh, well, I wanted to apologize for being such a bitch these past few weeks."
"Hm, understatement of the century." Stiles chuckled with his mouth full.
"Actually, she can be 1,000 times worse. That was just level 1 bitchiness."
"Point taken. But why would you apologize? We get it you don't want to be our friend."
"That's not it, it's just... ugh... Look, it’s honestly a very long story, but moving around it’s hard to cut ties and start over for so long. After a while it’s easier to builds walls up and maintain everyone at arm’s length." They all stared at me. Hopefully I was getting through to them. "But this time I'm changing that. I want to be your friend and that's why I'm apologizing."
"Well, I don't know about the other guys, but I've always considered you my friend. I mean, I've considered Lydia my friend and she hates me."
"Oh, please, Stiles. I don't hate you, you're just, um.... special."
"I'll take it."
"We understand. And of course you're our friend, (Y/N). You were just too stubborn to notice." Scott smiled at me. "Now, is there more pizza?"
"How the hell did you two boys just finish two boxes of pizza?"
"We're growing?" Stiles said with his mouth full.
"Barely," Allison mumbled.
"You know I can hear you, right?"
"That's the point, Scott."
The whole room laughed and continued to enjoy a very pleasant afternoon. It felt weird to finally feel like I belonged somewhere; that there were people around me that cared for me despite my flaws. As I looked around the faces of the group that had welcomed me with open arms, I couldn’t help but feel that someone was missing; the person that had first accepted me.
The clock had hit 4 o’clock when the last piece of food was gone, and the gang had gone home. After cleaning up, I decided it was time to call Isaac. I didn’t like the person he had become after the bite. But I couldn’t say I didn’t understand. He felt confident, strong, but he was using the wrong outlet. Just like I was.
“So, you’re finally talking to me,” Isaac chuckled, a cocky tone to his voice.
“Only if you’re done being a douche.”
“What do you mean?”
“Ever since you turned into a werewolf you’ve been nothing short of unbearable with your cocky behavior and holier-than-thou attitude.” I could hear him shifting on the other line, the news taking him aback. It seems Derek hadn’t told his pack that I knew everything.
“H-how… who told you?”
“Derek, your alpha. He told me everything the other day. I know all about werewolves, kanimas, hunters, pack, blah, blah, blah. But none of that excuses your behavior,’’ I sighed. “So, are you done being a dick?”
“Maybe,” he chuckled. “Can I see you?”
“Sure. Why don’t we go grab a bite? I’ll pick you up.”
“Alright!” He sounded excited. “I’ll text you the address.”
After hanging up I decided to take a quick shower before leaving. I threw on a white t-shirt and jeans and paired them with my leather jacket. As I tied my boots, I reached for the keys of my dad’s Chevrolet Suburban. Hopefully, I didn’t crash. In the car, I typed in the address Isaac had sent me. It was an industrial loft not too far from my own home. I honked my horn to notify Isaac I was there as well as sent a text.
“Are you stalking me now?”
I jumped at the sound of Derek’s voice and the knock he left on my window. . He appeared like a ghost and leaned on my door. “I could say the same about you. I’ve never been here before.”
“I live here,” he laughed, pointing at the building. “It’s my loft.”
“I’m here to pick up Isaac,” I said sheepishly. “So, he’s been staying with you. I thought you live in the woods.”
“It’s my family’s house and it’s under my ownership, but it’s not under livable conditions. And, yes, Isaac has been staying with me.”
“Hey, Derek.” Isaac finally emerged from the doors and jogged up to my car, patting Derek on the back. The man’s expression rapidly changed as soon as Isaac joined the conversation. The playful smile he wore had been replaced by a menacing scowl. “We’re going out for a while. I’ll see you later.”
We said goodbye and as I drove off, I stared at Derek. His body was tense, and his jaw was clenched. He was angry, but I didn’t know why. When we were alone, he was a completely different person than what he showed to others. There was this terrifying façade that was impenetrable by everyone else, yet he was a completely different person with me; he was an Alpha to the others, but he was just Derek to me.
I parked the car at a small burger joint Isaac directed me to. It wasn’t too full, so our food came out quickly. We sat at a table in the back, far from any prying ears.
“So, what did you mean about this cocky attitude?” He popped a french fry into his mouth, playing around with his food. “You seemed quite mad about it. Mad enough that you avoided me for some time.”
“Ever since you transformed you’ve been carrying yourself like you’re above everyone, you don’t even bother to be respectful of teachers or anyone for that matter. I miss the old Isaac.”
“You mean the pushover wimpy kid?” He scoffed. “I can’t say the same.”
“That’s not what I meant.” My hand reached out to his clenched fist and his hold softened. “You were nice and respectful, and knew how to treat others because you knew how it felt to be mistreated. Of course, you could have done with more confidence, but that’s not what this is. It’s almost as if you’re turning into Jackson, heaven forbid.”
His eyes softened and I knew I was getting through the wall he had built up.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N). It's just… this is the first time in my life that I have felt powerful, like nothing and no one can touch me. I've dealt with so much shit that I thought I deserved to act like that," he sighed. "Can you ever forgive me?"
“You’re practically my best friend, how could I not?”
“Thanks.” He gave me a smile that I happily reciprocated. For the first time in a while, I was seeing the Isaac I had met some time ago. “So, what is it that you needed to speak to me so eagerly.”
“Remember how I mentioned that I would be moving at the end of the year so you shouldn’t get attached?” He nodded. “Well, it seems you’re gonna have to put up with me for a long time. Beacon Hills is now my home.”
“What?! That’s great!” He exclaimed a little too loud. Heads turned towards us and Isaac tried to hide his blush. “Does that mean we can truly be friends now? Not just study partners or casual conversation acquaintances?”
“Yes, Isaac. That’s exactly what that means,” I laughed. His face had lit up as the hard mask he wore finally broke apart. “By the way, I’ve been meaning to ask you, what happened the night that I picked you up? It was such a weird night.”
His whole demeanor changed, clearly a sore subject to talk about. "If Derek told you what we are I presume he told you about everything else." I nodded. "The Kanima. It killed my father. We, um, had gotten into a fight and I ran out. It seems he went out looking for me but didn't get to me. I found him dead in his car, but I ran and called you."
" Isaac, why didn't you tell me? I mean, I know why you didn't tell me, but something; you should have told me something.” I looked into his eyes, worry evident in them. He had gone through such a traumatic event basically by himself. “Is that why the police were looking for you?"
He nodded. "They thought I had something to do with his murder because of something Jackson said. He was unfortunately my neighbor and had seen me running out of the house, but there were no tracks leading to me. I'm not a fugitive anymore." He smiled softly.
“I’m glad, Isaac, really. And I’m truly sorry for everything you’ve had to endure alone for all these years. You didn’t deserve it.”
“Thanks, (Y/N). At least that part of my life is over.”
“Now we just have to get that damn Kanima and get on with our lives.” We laughed.
Before we knew it, the sky outside had turned dark, signaling the arrival of the night. The car ride back was filled with mindless chitchat and soft background music. It had been a long few days and exhaustion was evident in both of us. Soon enough, the grey building had come into view.
“Do you want to come in for a bit?” Isaac leaned into the open window of the driver’s side.
“I think I’m just gonna head on home. I’m a bit tired and we have school tomorrow.” I smiled. “But, I’ll take you up on the offer someday.”
“Isaac, good to see you’re back,” Derek announced himself, his two betas following behind. “You’re late for training.”
“Sorry, Derek. Time slipped away.”
“Sorry won’t cut it.” His voice was commanding and a bit intimidating. I could see why everyone around me feared him. “Go with Erica and Boyd. Get started.”
'‘Bye, (Y/N). I’ll see you tomorrow.” I smiled and nodded, trying my best to comfort him.
“See you.” Derek stood back as we both watched the three figures disappear into the building. His chest moved, heaving, and he reeked of jealousy. “What’s your problem?”
“What?” Did he truly believe I was that oblivious? “I just…”
“You’re acting like a prissy child, Derek. You knew where Isaac was, who he was with, and that there was a possibility that he would come back late. There’s no need to grill him that hard.”
“He’s old enough to manage his time correctly, (Y/N). He needs to learn discipline. This has nothing to do with you.”
“Clearly, that’s not what’s happening here,’’ I laughed dryly. “Look, pardon the metaphor, but this whole alpha male act is gonna get very tiring, very quickly. If this is how you’re gonna be, don’t bother on scheduling that date this week.”
“Don’t be like that, (Y/N). I swear this has nothing to do with you. There are certain rules that we have to abide by, a different life. It’s complicated.”
“You’re not making any sense, Derek.”
“It’s hard to explain.”
“Yesterday we said no secrets, Derek. What changed in the hours that have passed?”
“Nothing’s changed. I’m sorry if I seemed too harsh on Isaac, but I have to be. They’re young and reckless, and it’s my job to make sure they stay safe. No matter the cost.” He ran his hands across his face as he let out a loud sigh. “Why don’t we just keep the supernatural and our personal lives apart.”
“We can try that for a while, but they’re bound to intersect at some point.”
“I know, but…”
“Let’s play it your way and see how it goes, okay? And lay off Isaac and the others? They are just kids.”
“I’ll try,” he smiled softly. “Text me when you get home, okay?”
“If I remember.”
I backed the car up and sped back to my house. When I opened the garage, my father was sitting on the spot where the car usually went. I had forgotten to tell them I would be gone, and my phone’s battery had died a while back. I was in so much trouble.
“Good to know you’re alive, darling daughter.” The sarcasm spewed from my father’s mouth, and it stung.
“I’m so sorry. I went out with a friend and my phone died. And I know I forgot to say I was leaving the house, but I rarely do that, so please forgive me.”
“Calm down, (Y/N),” he laughed. “We just wanted to make sure you were okay. You weren’t answering your phone, so we got worried. But remember, there’s a tracker on the car. We figured you were out. And I’m glad to hear you have a friend. It’s about time.”
“Thanks, dad.” He wrapped me in a hug and patted my head. If he knew who my friends were I’m sure he wouldn’t feel the same way. “But, if you knew where I was, what was this whole scary setup? I for sure thought you were going to kill me.”
“Nothing like that, honey. But your mother and I have something we have to talk to you about.”
“What is it? You can’t take back that we are staying.”
“It’s not that, but it is serious. Let’s go, your mom is waiting in the kitchen.”
My heart was beating at a rapid pace, a million thoughts running through my head. Although, at the bottom of my heart I knew what this talk was going to be about.

Title: Ataraxy WC: 900 Episode: Boom! (2 x 18)
She is not, she has decided, jealous of Jordan Shaw. This is an internal memo, for her eyes only. No one can know that she has decided this. No one can know that she has even entertained the possibility. But she files it away nonetheless. She stamps it confidential and places it under fireproof lock and key: Detective Kate Beckett, NYPD, is not jealous of Special Agent Jordan Shaw, FBI.
It’s a well-informed decision. At some point that might have been the day before yesterday—or int may have been seven hundred billion hours ago—she had demanded that he tell her everything he knew about Jordan Shaw, and out of the gate, it had looked as though the top secret memo might have gone the other way. Her resume is impressive. The pace at which she made her mark on high-profile cases is nothing short of astonishing.
And there’s a child she shares with an apparently devoted husband and father. If she were one to image stalk on the web, Kate has no doubt that the daughter’s adorability quotient and the husband’s dashing good looks would provide plenty of tasty snacks for the green-eyed monster. And she can’t say that the green-eyed monster went hungry through some portion of the case. But, at the end of the day—at the end of what might be a stretch of seven hundred billion hours—she is not jealous of Jordan Shaw for her accomplishments, for her home life, for much of anything.
She was telling the truth when she told the woman that she’d learned a lot from her, though it’s the kind of truth passed down through her matriline, from her grandmother to her mother to here. It’s the slightly biting kind of truth that’s meant to throw some amount of shade. She has learned a lot from Jordan Shaw and some—not all of it, but some—is what not to do, how not to be.
The turning point, she thinks—the ah ha! moment—had been the call from Avery. There she had been, safely if somewhat awkwardly ensconced in the home of a man who’d first rushed into a burning building to save her life, then taken her in without hesitation or question. There she had been, awkward, yes, but comfortable enough to bang around in his kitchen cabinets—to root around in fridge and pantry before either he or his family were up yet. And there was Jordan, missing for going on twelve hours at that point, and yet . . . not quite missed.
It might be wrong-headed. It’s blaming the victim, after all, to cluck her tongue and shake her head about the time the woman must spend off-grid and unreachable if that much time could easily elapse without anyone sounding the alarm. It’s tearing down a fellow woman in one of the toughest jobs in the world, but that’s not what Kate is doing. In the clear-eyed, honest assessment of herself that she’s done when it comes to Jordan Shaw, she thinks she can honestly say it’s more complicated than that.
It’s Avery, really. Avery is the real turning point for her. That’s my partner up there, the man had snapped in the back of the surveillance van outside of Dunn’s hide, and the word had honestly landed like a kick to the shins. She would never have, until that moment, thought of the working relationship between the two of them in that way. She would never have, until that moment, used the word relationship with their two names anywhere near it.
She’s since sifted through what she can recall of Jordan Shaw’s not-so-quotable quotes. She hears the woman’s voice saying people—my people, in fact—over and over again. She hears specific unit callouts—evidence, strike, canvas and so on. She’s a take no shit leader, and in her case, that calls for a certain amount of distance between her and the undifferentiated mass of her people. She—Kate—is not sure she knows the name of a single agent other than Avery, and she’d be hard-pressed to come up with the man’s first name.
It’s not the be all, end all, how anyone relates to anyone else or doesn’t. Jordan Shaw has bigger problems than Kate Beckett does. The two of them have different problems when it comes to the job. But she thinks of Ryan and Esposito showing up to functionally irritate her out of her fear after Dunn left a body literally on her doorstep. She thinks of the Captain and Castle ganging up on her to force the issue of rest, of security, of taking the damned threat seriously.
She sees her tight-knit, oddball team through the lens of Jordan Shaw’s war room, her people, her various well-equipped, highly skilled teams. She sees Castle through that lens, and most important, she sees their partnership—the real deal—through the eyes of Jordan Shaw, who even in the end, can only purse her lips and call what they have unorthodox as she tries to parse and profile what they are, what they will be.
She sees all of that with new clarity and a wide-open mind and heart. She has a new bar to gauge her own life by, and she’s not the least bit jealous of Jordan Shaw.
A/N: Jordan Shaw—Lacking in Total Life Morphousness.

Basic Bio: Name: Viola Shearrion Age: 32 Traits: Soulmate , Materialistic, Snob, Romantic Sexuality: Heterosexual Race: Human Hometown: San-Myshuno Occupation: Business Lady Personality Type: “Snob, serious, sarcastic, materialistic, not shy and I consider myself unfriendly. I know how to fend for myself. Sometimes, I can be a total bitch, that’s true, but even this type of woman has dignity. Whatever happens, I won’t yell, scream, fight or cry. I don’t have time for such pity things. Despite this all, I know how to be romantic. *winks* ” Relationships Back at Home: “I have, well, complicated relationships with my father... We are actually in one business and own the same company. He always criticizes me that I’m bad leader and will not be able to run our company if one day he will be gone. But, despite those “business relationships” I love my father. Maybe he’s not always nice to me, but he’s still my father. My mother died due to the cancer... Money was useless, we could not do anything. I miss her so much, to be honest. And, I was married once... For 5 years... I have no idea how did I live so long with such awful man. I divorced with him for few reasons... Firstly, he used me for money. Secondly, he usually came home drunk. And thirdly, he is just awful man... Slob. I am pretty ashamed of still this. I can’t believe, I have trusted him for so long... But anyway, it is already past of my life and I have no time to cry, I am moving on.“ Intentions: “I will be honest, I hardly believe I can find a really good man for myself on this show. But, as my father always says to me: “You will not find out if you do not try” . Well, my father is right, I think I should try. Besides, this might be interesting and amusing. It will be just like a vacation. I have read a book once, about couple, how did the meet on the vacation, how their relationship evolved and in the end of this romance, they got married... Hah. Maybe I will also end like they in book. I just hope, second chance will be much better. Well, also, you know, I have some kind of weakness, for men with spiky hairstyle...“ Backstory and Random Facts: “I was born and still live here, in San-Myshuno. The city with a lot of opportunities. Well, I have had quite nice childhood, but my father required me to always be the best, in everything. I, as only one daughter in family could not fail him. I used to study hard, in high school and then in the University of Britechester. I did not sleep many nights, it was hard, but trust me, worth it. Totally, because education is the only way to have a decent spot in our world. Now me and my father, we own and rule the big company here in San-Myshuno. I live alone, in my penthouse. I am not going to lie, it is pretty sad, but I think I got used to that. But still, I feel lack of a strong and realiable male shoulder. I maybe should not mention that, but I have used services of “pay for man”. Yes and I am not shy about it. Everyone and everything needs money, it is not a secret. Sometimes, I just like to come home, have a tasty indian cup of tea and read romances... I may look like a shark of business, but I also have a soft side... I am also a woman and I really want some love. But, I can only read about it, in different romances and imagine that everything what is going on there, it is everything happens with me. Also, I would really like to have a black cat one day. I do not know, but cats bring peace to me, everytime I look at them.“

“I have a lot of work to do.” Suho looked around your apartment again. “Do you have any family I need to worry about?”
“I’m an only child, parents never cared too much for me.”
“Perfect. Shouldn’t be a problem though, I’m sure everyone things you’re dead. Go change into something more comfortable and pack a few clothes. Quickly now.”
You went off to your room, changing into some loose clothes, grabbing some other things and putting it into a backpack. When you came back Suho was giving your plant some water, handing you the pot.
“Can’t forget little Cupcake now can we. Cute name.”
You followed Suho out, getting back in the car. You started the engine and drove. Even if you didn’t know where to go, he did, and that’s all that mattered.
 ♥♥♥♥♥
You jumped awake, the vines quick to tighten, making you whimper. You calmed yourself down, looking around. You had hoped this time you’d wake up at home, or a hospital, but you were still somewhere foreign. You tried to get the vines off by hand but they weren’t having it. Tears stung your eyes.
“Please… please let go…”
To your surprise they did, slowly moving away. You laughed in disbelief, taking a moment to get your head on straight. Your plan was to get up and run but the second you stepped out of the room you stopped. You realized the hallway was tile, and covered with what seemed like two inches of water, every doorway with a little barrier to prevent water from getting in.
You looked down, confused but moving your feet around, enjoying the feel of water, but you quickly snapped yourself out of it. Running wasn’t really an option anymore, you didn’t want to draw attention to yourself. None of the rooms around you seemed to have doors either, the walls covered with vines. You didn’t think it would be hard to find a way out, given that nothing was hidden behind a door, but you were wrong.
You underestimated how big the house was, feeling more lost with every step you took. You stopped when you walked into a certain room, seeing that one wall was just glass, and you could see the outside of the house. You ran to it, wishing a door would appear, but at least now you had something to follow. You went into one room after the other following the glass wall, trusting you’d eventually find a way out, and you did. You stumbled into a hallway, a clear way out just down the hall. You smiled making a run for it, but not getting out.
As you were about to set foot outside the house a vine wrapped around your arm and yanked you back. You wound up turned around and on your knees, water settling back down, your clothes getting a bit wet. You were about to start yelling and pulling on the vine but when you looked at it you stared, feeling something familiar about it.
“Cupcake?”
“I told you they get upset when mommy gets out of bed. Imagine what they’re like when mommy tries to leave.”
You heard splashing steps, looking over to see Suho approaching you. He took a sip of the drink he had then casually waved his hand, having the vine let you go, then helping you get on your feet.
“You must be hungry, and just in time, breakfast is ready.”
Suho headed back into the house, but you didn’t move, the sounds of water and you dripping filled the hall. When you looked back at the doorway you saw all the plants growing over it to cover it up. You sighed, knowing there was no point in trying to get out, at least for now. Your stomach growled and you quickly caught up with Suho, not wanting to get lost again.
The dining hall was huge and the smell of delicious food filled every inch of it. Even if you were hungry you were still hesitant, watching Suho sit down and eat. There was all kinds of breakfast foods on the table, greens, meats, four different types of juice, fruit, pancakes and waffles, and so much more, you were amazed.
“Wait… you… eat meat?”
“Some plants are carnivorous aren’t they?”
“Right…”
“Sit down, eat. I heard your stomach growl, and don’t think I did anything with the food. I wouldn’t do such a thing.”
You didn’t want to trust him, but your mouth was watering and you wanted to try everything. You took a breath and sat down, carefully grabbing what you wanted. Suho would glance at you, probably thought you were weird, but he didn’t say anything. You were nervous taking your first bite, but it was good.
“So… I… I thought you didn’t need food?”
“I don’t, but I’ve had plenty of time to try your cuisines, and some are quite tasty.”
“Right…”
“I’m glad to see you out of bed. Didn’t think you’d get up on your own.”
“Yeah… I’m just as surprised…”
You looked around the room, big and empty, just like every other one. Vines, plant life, was all over the house, probably the same on the outside too. The halls were all filled with water, every doorway having a little place to wipe your feet so you don’t drag water around into the rooms. You didn’t recognize the house, but it felt familiar.
“Suho…”
“Hm?”
“What’s… what’s going on… where am I? What did you do?”
“You’re home.” Suho’s phone chimed and he checked it. “I have a call to take. Now I’d explain, but there’s no point given you’ll remember soon enough.”
“A call? What do you mean?”
“You’re the one from this planet, a call, business call.”
“Business?”
“I have work to do, so behave yourself.”
“Right…”
Suho smiled at you before leaving the room. You stayed seated for a while, thinking of what to do next. When you stood you remembered your wet clothes, thinking it was best to dress into something else before you caught a cold. You only took a step before you realized you had no idea where to go. You could wander around and try to find it, but you thought of trying something else first, even if it would seem ridiculous.
“Um… can any of you show me were my room is… so I can get dressed?”
Nothing happened, and you laughed at yourself for thinking something would. You stepped out into the hall, standing in the water for a moment, a vine slowly grabbing your wrist. It gently tugged you along down the hall, keeping hold of you as it led you around. You were surprised, but also glad, and somewhat terrified. It seemed like you were wrong about being alone.
You weren’t taken to the room you woke up in, instead to another one. The room was mostly filled with dressers, a few standing mirrors around too. The vine tugged you along to one of the double doors, other vines coming down to open the doors, revealing a walk in closet. Your eyes went wide as you stepped inside, seeing all the clothes that were clearly for you.
You looked around, seeing all you had, and there was no doubt every piece of clothing was expensive. You didn’t know what to wear, but you were drawn to a red dress. You were curious as to why and when you got all that, but you were focused on that particular dress. There was something about it, but you weren’t sure what. You slowly reached for it, feeling the soft fabric and then a bunch of memories flooded your mind, causing you to collapse.
♥♥♥♥♥
  Seven Months Ago
You pulled up the car to the entrance of a gated community, the guard on duty coming over to talk with you. Of course you weren’t going to say or do anything, you were just the driver. When the guard came over, Suho said something about seeing an old friend, handing the guard a bouquet of flowers. They went quiet for a moment then put on a big smile, suddenly being very friendly with Suho, and letting you through without any other questions.
Suho looked around, glancing at each house, picking one out and you pulled into the driveway. You didn’t notice when he suddenly got another bouquet of flowers, but you followed him to the door. You weren’t quite sure what happened next but it happened fast. The flowers were handed over to the person who opened the door, Suho and you being welcomed in instantly, the door shutting behind you.
A bunch of plants began to grow in the house once you were in, you heard a couple of screams but they were quickly silenced. Suho looked around the place, probably interested in the layout of the house compared to your little apartment. He was quick to take over the house, having all the inhabitants gathered in the living room. They were all in the same mindless state as you, but it didn’t last.
“I apologize for the home invasion, but I wanted to skip through the unpleasantness and questions.”
The family in the house consisted of a mother, father, and an only child, a daughter. The three returned to their senses as the black veins faded, quite aware of what had just happened to them, and fear was keeping them quiet. Suho sat across from them, calm and collected.
“I mean you no harm. As you’re aware, I could have easily used you to attain anything I desire but that’s not what I want. I would prefer to form a relationship with you, there is much I can do for you.”
“What… what do you mean?” The father asked.
“Anything you want, I can make it yours. What I do is complicated to explain, but to make it simple, I can control your kind and have you do anything I please.”
“Prove it.”
“I couldn’t agree more. Is there anything you want that I can attain for you now, as a demonstration.”
“The boy next door.” The daughter suddenly said. “He’s gorgeous and should be going out with me! Instead he has some lowlife girlfriend.”
“So you want him to love you?”
“Yes.”
“What kind of love? Obsession? Adoration? Infatuation? Possessive?”
“I want him to love me like no other, and to give me anything and everything I want.”
“Lovely. I presume you like the idea as well.” Suho glanced at the parents. “Such a union would increase your overall wealth. Lucky you.”
Suho had a red rose grow from his hand, taking in a deep breath of its scent. He held it out to the girl.
“Here. Have the boy you like smell it and then kiss him and he’ll be yours.”
“That’s it?”
“Yes. Easy, isn’t it? We’ll wait here.”
The girl took the flower, a bit hesitant, but leaving with it. The rest remained quiet, the family still a bit scared of Suho, and rightfully so. A couple of minutes passed before the girl returned home, a love struck smile on her face.
“How did it go?” Her father asked. “Are you alright?”
“He went to go break up with that girl. And he wants to come over for dinner to properly meet you both. He’s perfect.”
“Young love. Now you see I’m no joke, but my gifts aren’t free.”
“What do you want?” The mother asked.
“Well, for the match making, I’d like your assistance in acquiring a new identity for myself and my friend.” Suho glanced over at you. “After that any of my talents will cost you some of your fortune.”
“Is she like you?”
“She is none of your concern.”
“Well then, we have a deal.”
And that’s how it began, the next three months in that house, Suho using the time to craft his human identity, letting you keep your first name, your profession, and your age, but everything else was crafted to his liking. He was quick to acquire an insane amount of wealth, as was the family he was leeching off of. You were just quiet, following him around the house, and driving him around whenever he wanted to go out.
He didn’t really need sleep, but he had a room in the house regardless. Most of his time was spent in there, making plans and doing who knows what. Of course he also needed to look after you, which is something he neglected at first. After a few days you just collapsed, startling Suho and making him remember you weren’t one of his plants. You woke up choking on water, Suho pouring some into your mouth.
“Stop!”
You sat up on the couch, spitting out some water, then wiping the rest off your face. You looked around, not recognizing anything, your eyes then landing on Suho.
“What… what’s going on?”
“Oh right, I lowered my hold on you so you could rest.”
“Wa… what do y-”
You yelled, grabbing your head. A strong headache suddenly hitting you, similar to what had happened in the lab. There was so much you didn’t understand, and this pain felt like it was going to kill you.
“Come on now, don’t fight me, you’ll just make it worse.”
Eventually the pain overtook you, replacing clarity with a fog.Your eyes lost that spark of life and you stared at Suho, waiting. He pet your head, bringing over a food tray and spoon feeding you some soup.
“I had them make you something soft to eat. I apologize for neglecting your care, I’ve been rather busy and a few things slipped my mind. You’re human, you need more than sunlight and water.” You ate slowly, eyes a bit droopy. “You don’t have to finish the food, I just want to make sure you have food in your belly before I let you sleep.”
You wound up eating half before you found it hard to keep your eyes open. Even with Suho dictating your actions, he couldn’t do much when your whole body was exhausted. He tucked you into bed, and you were quick to fall asleep when you let your eyes close. For the most part you had no idea what was going on, and even if you weren’t fully aware of anything, deep down you’d wonder why he kept you around.
“Do you ever do anything?”
Lily, the daughter, came into Suho’s room, clearly looking for him, but instead finding you. She went over, staring at you, probably creeped out by the blank stare and constant silence. You’d always quietly stand behind Suho, and in his room just stay in the corner like one of the plants.
“Can I help you?”
Suho entered the room, grabbing Lily’s attention. She smiled and plopped down in a chair. He watched her curiously, taking a seat himself.
“How’s my favorite uncle?”
“I’m not your uncle. You humans are rather greedy so why don’t you just tell me what you want? Is your husband not satisfying you?”
“Straight to the point, I like it. The thing is I have a problem. Mom and dad are just boring with their money.”
“Someone wants their inheritance early.”
“I didn’t know you were so understanding.”
“And what’s in it for me?”
“Well, I’m sure you can make it so mommy and daddy leave everything to us. Half of their fortune, is that reasonable payment?”
“Alright, give me a month. If they pass so suddenly there will be questions.”
“Fine, I can wait. Thanks.”
She stood up and went over to try to give him a kiss on the cheek, but a vine quickly wrapped around her throat, holding her back.
“Don’t try that again.” Suho hissed. “Or else.”
“Noted.” She moved away and the vine let go. “Oh, and for fucks sake do something with her. It’s creepy that she just stands around and follows you quietly.”
Suho made no comment, waiting for her to leave. He rolled his eyes once she was gone, looking over at you and chuckling.
“Come here y/n.”
You walked over to Suho, and he pulled you onto his lap. He brushed some hair behind your ear, caressing your cheek.
“You’ve probably been wondering what you’re doing here too. Don’t worry, soon enough you can get started on this little project I have for you. Would you like that?” You nodded. “Good, cause it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
It wasn’t long before the number of people in the house decreased. It seemed like death followed Suho everywhere, and all you could do was watch. You didn’t know what kinda project Suho was talking about, but it became clear soon enough. You had been sleeping when Suho suddenly woke you.
“Come on, I require your assistance.”
You were still a bit tired but followed him anyway, going into Lily’s room. She was sleeping, a few plants in her room, and some medical equipment. As you looked around the room you could quickly understand what was going on.
“Don’t worry about her.”
You just nodded, getting everything set up. Suho wanted to do a blood transfusion, as for why you couldn’t quite understand, but it wasn’t your place to. Her husband was nowhere to be found, surely Suho had taken care of that. You watched her vitals, everything was stable at first, but it quickly went downhill. You tried to fix it but in the end it all failed. Before you could say anything Suho slammed you against the wall.
“According to your knowledge this should have worked!”
“I’m unsure what you were trying to achieve here.”
“My DNA is similar to yours, which means your kind should have the potential to become like me. A blood transfusion should have worked!”
“Your assessment is incorrect. Your DNA is similar to humans in design, not material. Your DNA is also similar to plants, something not compatible with the human genome. Furthermore you’re an extraterrestrial, what you just did was introduce foreign material into the bloodstream, along with DNA sequences not compatible with that of a humans. Such action results in death.”
“Why didn’t you tell me this before!”
“You didn’t ask for my assessment of your actions.”
Suho sighed. “Did you know she would die?”
“No. As you understood, your DNA is similar, there was a chance the body would understand that.”
“So why did it fail?”
“Too many components left to chance. Your DNA is more than one thing, you were asking her to change on a molecular level in an instant. To accept the plant genome and the other foreign materials of your DNA as her own. There was a chance of success, but given the other two components, failure was more likely.”
“Fine, then answer me this. Is it possible for your kind to become like me?”
“Yes, and no.”
“Explain.”
“I cannot recreate your genetic makeup in a human, but I can make a close copy via genetic splicing.”
“What do you mean?”
“Your abilities cannot be duplicated, but it is possible, in theory, to splice human DNA with plant DNA. Similar to you, half human, half plant, as for the actual effects such a procedure would cause, I’m not sure until I actually look at the possibilities.”
“Interesting. So you can do that?”
“No.”
“What?”
“I know about human genetics, but not plants, and I’m not an expert on genetic splicing. What you are asking for isn’t something I can do alone.”
“I see, then we’re done here. Go grab your things and Cupcake, we’re leaving.”
You left the room, stumbling down the hall. Once you were gone Suho noticed the blood on the wall from where your head had been. He swore under his breath and ran after you, finding you on the floor. You were barely conscious and he pulled you into his lap, feeling the blood on the back of your head. He was quick to heal the injury, getting you to the bedroom to wash away the blood, then handing you your bag and Cupcake.
You followed him out and this time he drove. He could, ever since he landed on the planet, he just never had the need to, except now. You probably could have done it but after the injury he rather you just rest. As for the mess in the house, he had his contingency for that. The husband would start a fire, burn the evidence of what actually happened, and confess to killing his wife. Suho had also already taken care of his presence and yours in that house and neighborhood, you were never there. You weren’t sure where he was going but where he stopped wasn’t what you were expecting.
“I have been meaning to get you some new clothes, what better time to go shopping then now.”
Suho had you hook your arm with his, leading you around the shopping center. Even if the clothes were for you, he was the one picking them out. When he didn’t need your brain you were just a doll to him, one that needed to dress more to his liking. He’d always have you change in front of him, do a few turns, and decide whether he liked it on you or not. Although when you got to a red dress he was quiet for a while.
“Come here.”
He sat you down in his lap again, staring. After a bit he checked to make sure your head was okay, and that you hadn’t sustained any serious side effects. You seemed okay for the most part but he was still a bit weary, deciding to take you to the ER to have a professional look you over, it’ll also be a great way to expand his own knowledge. You left with that dress on, along with a bunch of new and expensive clothes.
♥♥♥♥♥
Suho found you in the closet after his call, sobbing and curled up on the floor. He gently picked you up in his arms, trying to soothe you and get you to calm down.
“You’re alright, don’t cry.”
“You… you lied… you killed those people… and others… the infection… you said you had… no control… you lied… I… I let you out…”
“Sh, take it easy.”
“It takes minutes! Seconds even for you to take over! Why… why did it take five months with me!”
“I was weak remember. It was a miracle I even got close to you the way I did, and you weren’t around me a lot, so it took a very long time to grow. Sorry for all the headaches and restless nights. The sun lamps would turn off after hours and come back on early in the morning, probably woke you up too. If you had really left after quitting, would have taken another two weeks at best.”
“You… I… I let you out…”
“You would have set me free whether you wanted to or not, so don’t feel guilty.”
“Let go of me!”
You shoved him away, stumbling up to your feet and running out of the room. This time you didn’t care much for being subtle, hurrying along down the halls and trying to find a way out again.
“Y/n!”
“Stay away from me!”
You just heard his voice but that was enough to scare you. You were probably lost but you didn’t care, knowing you had to keep moving. Eventually though you noticed flowers growing from the vines on the wall and you started to get tired. Stumbling with your steps, and falling to your knees. It didn’t stop you right away though, having you resort to crawling, but of course you wouldn’t get far before you were found.
“Y/n, stop it.”
“Stay… away from me…”
“You can’t even stand.”
“Go… away…”
You collapsed to the ground, finding the water comforting despite the situation. It wasn’t the time to sleep but you felt very tired. Suho knelt down, gently caressing your cheek.
“What did you remember?”
“The house… we stayed in… the family… you destroyed…”
“That was their own greed.”
“Lily…”
“Her? Really? She’s the one who wanted her parents dead. She was a necessary sacrifice, you shouldn’t concern yourself with such trivial things. These memories are rather useless aren’t they, well, not entirely, but some parts are. I’ll fix that.”
“Don’t…”
“Sh, it’ll take a moment.”
You had no strength to fight him as he pulled you into his lap, the two of you getting wet. He gently placed a hand on your head, and you felt a slight tingle before another headache overtook you. It woke you up enough to start screaming and squirming around in Suho’s embrace, but his grip on you was firm.
“Breathe, you’re alright, it wasn’t so bad.”
You were a bit dazed, unconsciously snuggling against Suho. The black veins had appeared on your face momentarily while you screamed but were now fading away. Suho kept you in his arms for a while before getting up and carrying you over to get you out of those wet clothes. You were still out of it as he dressed you, but weren’t any trouble for him.
“I know you may get upset as your memories return, but I need you sweetheart.” He kissed your head when he finished, having put you in that red dress. “We’re going to change the world together.”
