#the elder wand
Note
You can kill to get the Elder Wand but you don’t have to. It just needs to be disarmed from the current owner by any means. Draco was the one who disarmed Dumbledore before Snape killed him, so the wand went to him.
Anon's referring to the time I was confused why Draco got the elder wand.
Right, right, I remember now. That makes mildly more sense.

Sometimes Voldemort dresses up and wears a Tom Riddle glamour to satisfy the crush that twelve year old Harry had on the sixteen year old fifth year diary horcrux Tom Riddle. This is a companion mood board for my 'The Unbreakable Vow' fanfiction that I'm writing. 😍🥰😘🤗☺😏😏😏🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

Bo-Katan ending up with the Dark Saber reminds me of the whole Elder Wand saga with Snape, Draco & Voldemort. Ish.
tbh I’m glad that’s over. & done with because I don’t want Bo & Din to fight each other again. I like them on the same side.
BUT let’s not ignore the battledroid in the room: this is a friggin weird episode, right?

What are your thoughts on the elder wand, how it works, the way chain of custody functions for it in canon, your opinion on if it makes sense to have a wand that’s especially powerful instead of , i dunno, the witch herself being inherently strong? I feel like i just Dont Get the point of the elder wand. I dunno.
The Actual Point of the Elder Wand
The elder wand was the McGuffin of the last book.
Almost every Harry Potter book features at least one McGuffin and it's often in the title of the book itself. The philosopher's stone, for example, is a classic dead on McGuffin.
It had no real point to it beyond giving Voldemort something to hunt for, giving us something of a mystery, and giving us an explanation of sorts for how Harry could a) survive the killing curse again and b) defeat Voldemort.
It uh... still didn't make too much sense there but attempts were made.
What did happen was we got a whole bunch of nonsensical wand lore that ret conned the rest of the series. If losing the loyalty of your own wand is dependent in part on the outcome of duels, then we would see wizards acting very differently throughout the series.
Starting a fight could potentially be something in which you might lose your access to magic. Potentially forever if you can never be refit for a wand that fits you quite as well/don't have the money for it.
And I imagine Ron, whose wand at one point broke, would be fucked as no wand would ever swear allegiance to him again.
The Wand Itself
The wand is... interesitng.
It's a bit of a logical fallacy: you never lose if you always pick the winning team!
The implication is that, when the wand passes ownership, it's because the original owner is defeated outside of a duel. Except we have the fight between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, which Dumbledore wins and then gains ownership of the wand.
So... it's not undefeatable it's just a status symbol.
And we're never shown it's inherently more powerful. It's implied, yes, but Dumbledore uses spells just like everyone else. If it did make him that much more powerful that spells sad things for the good guys as Voldemort's able to consistently battle him to a standstill when Dumbledore's amped up on all the power in the world, but it's never really shown.
More, that's not how I think magic works.
The wand is a conduit, there's no hint that it supplies the power, that people themselves have any inherent power (too much focus on pronouncing the spells correctly being what makes the wizard/witch rather than anything else), but the power exists... elsewhere and this is simply the means of accessing it.
Wands may be better attuned for a particular person, they're a very delicate and specialized tool, but they do not supply the magic itself.
The more powerful wand is one that lets you more easily command the universe with the same spells.
And, again, we never saw that the elder wand necessarily does this.
Conclusion
I, too, think the elder wand is pointless and have no idea why it or any of the wand lore was in the seventh book. At all. Or any of the Deathly Hallows for that matter.
They got a title drop but... the plot wouldn't have changed if they never existed.
At all.
They provided nothing.
Except I guess Snape's death except he could have been killed just because Voldemort's decided it's time for Stalinist purges of his Death Eaters.
(As it is, that Snape is slowly poisoned by Nagini, not eaten mind you but just poisoned, giving him ample time to tell Harry that he's a horcrux was... oddly convenient as many things in Harry Potter are oddly convenient.)

I decided to Canva to make a few videos to see how people like them because Bitable decided to make people pay to download their videos which is a lot for someone like me who has just finished school and is looking for a job. The next video will be about The Resurrection Stone. I hope you enjoy the videos.
