What if you split the farmer into their component elements for the co-op experience in universe.

Imagine the town when not one, but four farmers descend on their tiny town. (Or dear god eight)

The Farmer

Feral as always, will use bombs to clear the farm and can raze the cindersnap in a day if they want to. Can be found shoving plants into their backpack in the woods or tending the fields, has beef with Pierre. Will grow your favorite crops and cries in happiness when their greenhouse is built.

The Rancher

The farmers counterpart. Is always at Marnies examining new babies and bringing them home, always bugging Robin for an expansion or new farm building, can be found surrounded by animals at any given time. Will randomly hand you an egg from their pocket or the foot of a rabbit if they like you, has spent the farmer fund on hay in the winter. Has an actual fucking dinosaur and will let you pet it.

The Geologist

Or as I like to call them, the cave goblin.

Can be found in the caves at almost any hour with a backpack full of rocks, absolutely swole and destroys monsters without a care because rocks! They have almost single handedly completed the museum and kept Clint in business, and will stare at him with an unblinking gaze while he cracks open their geodes. Lord have mercy when this fucker gets to skull caverns.

The Fisherman

(Willy’s favorite)

They have kept the art of fishing alive and have caught every single fish in The Valley by the second year. Can be found anywhere near water and has managed to drag up whole chests. Has horrified townsfolk by eating raw algae straight from the water or gelatinous goo they fished up. Has eaten a raw fish before.

Sometimes spotted defending into the mines with a fishing pole and returning with freaky fish they’ll gladly present to Willy, has also been spotted going into the sewers with their pole.

That’s not to say the farmers don’t work together. They are a force of nature. Ask for something on the board? Prepare for four people running up to you with that item. They fight like dogs over the grange and it’s a mix of crops, animal products, shiny rocks, and fresh fish. On rainy days they’ve been spotted playing in the rain and have woken up Robin more than once stampeding back to their farms from the mines at midnight. No one’s sure their relations to one another or who’s actually related to the old man, and no one asks.

They flirt a lot and will share their goods to increase the others odds of getting a date. On the beginning of every season they are menaces, clearing and prepping the fields with the farmer before they scatter to the wind. Always dirty, always smiling, always wild and fun. There isn’t a dull day in The Valley since they arrived. The local cryptids.

"What are you doing?" you asked, watching in confusion as the farmer sat next to Daisy on a wooden stool. You liked daisy, she was big and brown and had soft fur. You were momentarily distracted by the lazy swish of her tail and the tuft of dark brown hair on the end. Your eyes followed the motion carefully.

You heard a groan as the Farmer reached under Diasy and pulled a metal bucket close.

"Milking" he grunted

"Why?" you probed

"to get milk" he replied, hands working steadily as daisy continued to chew her cud happily. Hot milk hit the inside of the metal bucket with a squirt.

"You did it yesterday"

"..."

"and the day before"

"so?"

"why?"

He sighed and stopped his movement to look at you.

"To get milk"

"but doesn't it run out?", you asked, eyes squinting in confusion.

"No, it- just come ere, sit on that stool and just watch. I thought I told you to do the washing?"

"yeah and I did," you said sitting on the stool provided. Now a perfect view of the action.

"Already?" he muttered hands going back to work

"Yep I hung it out," you said proudly.

"And did you wash another load? Bring it what was dry?"

"No...I thought that was all you wanted me to do" you muttered.

a deep sigh came from him.

"That's alright...you can finish it later. To answer your earlier question, Daisy makes milk every day. Some of it goes to her calf and some of it goes to me. If I or the calf doesn't milk her, the milk builds up inside and hurts her. Understand?"

"Yes!"

"Great..."

"..."

"..."

"why isn't it brown?"

"What?"

"her milk... why isn't it brown?"

He stared at you in confusion.

"she's brown so why isn't it brown?"

"it doesn't work like that, just go do the washing! or read a book or something...city slicker" he grumbled ushering you away.

"ok I will but I have one more question"

"sigh.... fine what is it?"

"do you have to milk Barry the bull as well?"

Out of all the endings in the hardest thing, i think Andrias is the absolute best.

Andrias, who locked the Frogs and Toads into castes, have now become a serf, forever locked into being a farmer for the rest of his days. And he's okay with that, being at peace with it, his actions, and having devoted himself to the idea of actually making Amphibia better.

Not by conquest, not by high reforms, but by just spending his days helping the Farming community, the true backbone of any civilization. He has followed in Leif's footsteps, and though he can never be with them in person, Barrel and Leif are always with him in memory, and the hammer and pendant he carries.

It's cathartic in a way that his death just would not be.

He has truly become the best he could be.

I’ve been writing Shane’s backstory for a fic for like a week about him being friends with (and secretly super in love with) Jas’s parents and thei good memories before they died and his life fell apart, and while it gets better and he’s happy again eventually I have a happy little fix it in my head.

Jas’s parents fuckin survive, Iris and Joel learn Shane has family in a little no where town and say fuck it, let’s move. They all live in a house together in town and they raise Jas together, she loves her aunt and has sleepovers sometimes but mostly lives at home. She loves her mom and dad and bonus dad, she will bite an adult for making a cross comment about her family’s odd setup.

Maybe Shane finally opens his eyes and marries his best friends, Jas would be the biggest supporter in bonus dad getting married because she thought they were already all married?? Because the wedding photos of her parents all had him holding baby her next to them and they looked pretty married to her!

Maybe Shane falls for the farmer instead if you’re boring and mwah mwah they get married and he lives at the farm, but he’s still bonus dad and Jas stays over at the farmhouse sometimes

This is what sent me over the edge for those curious
