WHAT'S YOUR ROLE IN THE TRAGIC PLAY?
Tumblr media
misunderstood villain
prepare for an onslaught of both the most dehumanizing and hateful takes, and flood of thirst comments. you are chronically misunderstood. whether or not you're actually evil is debatable. you may be acting out for revenge, to defend someone you love, or even just to protect yourself. you're a pretty jaded person. you don't trust or even really like most people. maybe you did at one point. but that part of you is gone, and you don't go a single day without grieving it. you think a lot about what your life could have been. you're stuck in the past. you're angry and maybe you don't even want to be, but this is the only way you can see to survive. you're open, but less in a trusting way and more like a wound. you don't like to let people see you, but the hurt spills out of you before you can stop it. you're impulsive, even as you try hard to plan and prepare. maybe someday your side of the story will finally be heard. until then, you can convince yourself that being hated is safer anyway.

I have not seen anyone talking about Tsuyu’s development, which is a shame considering that she’s made a leap from how she used to be to how she is now
Her development centers around following the rules and when it is right to disobey them for the sake of someone’s needs
When I say this has been building up since Kamino arc, I MEAN it. Ever since then, it’s been established that she will not budge to help someone if it means breaking the law
Tumblr media
And even though she later expresses the guilt and regret she has for the way she acted, she does not comment on whether her mind has changed about their rescue squad or not. Of course, it is not important in the moment (if at all later), but note how she does not say whether she agrees or still disagrees - she acts on her feelings of regret but, as mentioned before in the story, is pretty level-headed in her beliefs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel this establishes how determined she is to follow the law, even if she ends up not doing something that could help someone, even if she ends up feeling upset by what she has refused to do herself. But see, even her determination to follow the law would not stop her upset and therefore would not stop her trying to make up for not supporting them
The experience is brought up again later in the story
Tumblr media
She specifically remembers that vulnerable moment, of all her regrets and horrible feelings, and says she’s not going to dwell on that anymore. She won’t regret, she won’t get into her head about nasty thoughts, because she wants to be happy with her friends no matter what. She won’t let them go it alone like she did last time
It’s also to be noted that when Aoyama was revealed as the traitor, she did not argue against him despite him breaking the law. As Izuku and Kirishima expressed, Aoyama obeyed AFO because he thought he was helpless, he clearly didn’t want to do any of it and tried to convince his parents to put an end to the deal. And at the end of the scene, Tsuyu joins the class in their anger, showing that whether she can let his actions slide or disagrees with it, her overall concern is AFO making her classmates and the people she cares about feel helpless and cry
Tumblr media
Then this is continued over to the Final War Arc
It is very clear from the moment she enters the battle in 348 that she’s focused on the mission. She expresses that they shouldn’t be talking about romance at a time like this and lays out their plans like a reminder of what they should be doing - a reminder that opposes what Ochako needs to do to save Toga at that moment. But that is obviously not on Tsuyu’s mind in the war, she doesn’t know about it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And again, implying that not ignoring the cries of the enemy is something they don’t need to do right now - basically what she said: “getting the job done”
Tumblr media
But when she sees Ochako’s desperation to talk to Toga, she is surprised
Tumblr media
And despite her feelings about “chatting about romance (and in general)”, she helps Ochako through the portal. I think this shows her support of her friends feelings in the face of them wanting the opposite of what they should, breaking the law and so on, as it has been shown previously in the series her loyalty to her friends
Tumblr media
Much like Ochako wants to do, Tsuyu then ends up talking about love in relation to Toga. Not in the way she should, but it’s a start - she begins to think about the way Toga sees the world
Tumblr media
Part of what she says makes Ochako think more about Toga’s reasonings. In a way, she and Tsuyu are bouncing off of each other, now a team effort to figure Toga out and save her (tho Tsuyu’s feelings resonate more with helping Ochako rather than helping Toga herself)
Tumblr media
Finally, in this chapter, Tsuyu talks to Toga directly, trying to actually convince her to listen to Ochako. Basically, she wishes to not necessarily break the rules herself, but help her friend do so
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is a BIG step considering she went from telling Izuku and the rest of 1A that breaking the law would make THEM Villains so she didn’t want to help them do that, to outright trying to help and convince a Villain to listen to her friend
I’ve said before that Tsuyu is a person who regrets hard. In that moment in the ward, where she wears her heart on her sleeve like she always does and speaks her beliefs clear, then finds out they went to rescue Bakugou anyway? The way she talks about her feelings in the dorm, it’s so clear that her refusal to join them when they needed help most broke her heart
Ever since then, Tsuyu has prioritized her friends feelings over her own beliefs of following the law. That’s not to say she shoves everything aside for them, but she isn’t stepping away from her classmates and leaving them to do things on their own like she did before. She is now beside them every step of the way, determined that even if she doesn’t agree on what they want to do, she wants to stay with them regardless because they are important to her
And she knows Ochako isn’t just calling out to Toga for nothing. Tsuyu sees that Ochako is doing it because her feelings are caught up in Toga’s cries that she can’t ignore. Her desperation, the way she doesn’t give up when trying to find and talk to her in the middle of the battle, shows that
All this to say, I really like how Tsuyu’s development has been building up to possibly becoming involved in the saving of a Villain and I love how it is shown through these moments with her friends. Kamino really made her despair and regret so Tsuyu then undauntingly showing her loyalty to her friends from then on and now showing support, trying to convince Toga to listen to what Ochako has to say? Chefs kiss
It has been said before that Tsuyu is “the perfect pillar of emotional support” which, considering all of these events from Kamino and how hard her actions hit her to Rogue Arc to now, definitely fits her personality and development. Figures that the one who decided to step away from the rescue team and regretted acting harshly learns from that experience and basically doubles down in the support she gives her friends from then on
Tumblr media
It makes me wonder what will happen now that Toga has stabbed Ochako and what Tsuyu will do next. I’m excited to see

In my analysis/criticism of Battle Tendency, I talk about Lisa Lisa and how I felt like the part was giving off the guise of her being a "strong, badass" character, but pushing her to the role of a mentor and never allowing her to use her skills to get involved with the plot herself. The only time she actually gets to fight is through Wired Beck, a one-off goon that serves no purpose to the story other than getting beaten by Lisa Lisa to prove how cool-and-tough she is, but the second an important villain like Kars shows up, she's immediately turned into a helpless damsel so Joseph can take over. It was essentially a way to appear like it's letting her be strong and capable while not actually putting the work in to involve her in the story.
I think Trish has more or less the same problem going on in Vento Aureo. From the beginning, it alludes to Trish being strong and capable and all of that, but for most of the part, she still just sits silently in the turtle and waits for the rest of the squad to handle things. Finally, way too late in, she unlocks her Stand in one of my favorite arcs in the part, but even then, after she defeats Notorious BIG, she's just shoved right back into the turtle like before. She uses her stand a total of once after that fight.
Notorious BIG, though a much cooler opponent, is really not all that different from Wired Beck in part 2- it showed up for one fight, the story let Trish handle it, and then went "Okay, that's enough of you being capable. Now you get to do nothing for the rest of the story and let the others take care of the actual bad guy." (It especially sucks because if any side character deserved to beat the shit out of Diavolo, it'd be Trish.)

Abner:
Tumblr media
abner might look like a helpless and kinda sad little guy but he's a FREAK. he hallucinates that everyone around him is his mom... and he hates his mom so much that fact makes it easier to Actually Murder Them. he had no problem with all the death & violence involved in the actual suicide squad mission, but he CRIED when another character showed him the barest hint of affection (PATTING HIS HEAD TO RUFFLE HIS HAIR.) he gets bullied by a villain called "Calendar Man", which has GOT to be some kind of low. oh and his name is Polka-Dot Man because his mom infected him with an interdimensional polka-dot virus that makes his skin balloon with polka-dot pustules, which make him violently sick & throw up these glowing destructive polka-dots, which he can also weaponize to LITERALLY MELT PEOPLE'S FLESH.
also Batman threw him in jail once which i think is funny

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
May 18th - Hawkeye / Kate Bishop
Katherine ‘Kate’ Bishop grew up as the youngest daughter of an affluent Manhattanite family.  Although her father was an emotionally distant publishing magnate, Kate admired him and tried to gain his attention and approval during her summer breaks from boarding school.  Her mother Eleanor was estranged from her father and frequently absent on vacations until she died under mysterious circumstances when Kate was still young.
In her early adolescence, Kate’s father became involved in a criminal endeavor with the villain known as El Matador.  The scheme had soured and it resulted in El Matador kidnapping Kate.  She was rescued by the Avenger known as Hawkeye (Clint Barton) and the ordeal left a significant impression on her. Hawkeye became her role model and she strived to emulate him by helping people and learning archery (a skill she had a natural talent for).
As a teenager, Kate was sexually assaulted while walking home through Central Park.  It was a terribly traumatic event and her therapist suggested that she try to sublimate her feelings of helplessness by learning self defense.  Kate took the suggestion a step further, training tirelessly in multiple types of martial arts, learning swordsmanship and honing her skills at archery to a point that they bordered on the superhuman.
Kate was attending her older sister’s wedding when a group of armed men stormed the church and attempted to take the precession hostage.  The recently formed Young Avengers arrived on the scene to take down the criminals, but were still quite new at acting as a team ended up needing Kate’s help to save the day.  Afterward, Kate tracked down these young heroes and suggested she be to allowed to join their ranks.  In that Kate did not possess any actual super powers, the Young Avengers initially balked at this suggestion. Their minds were quickly changed, however, after Kate played a pivotal role in helping the team defeat Kang The Conquerer.  During the battle with the villain, Kate used weapons pilfered from the then-ruined Avengers’ Mansion, weapons that included Mockingbird’s staves, The Swordsman’s blade and Hawkeye’s bow and arrows.
Early on in her career as a heroine, Kate had trouble choosing a codename. After an encounter with Clint Barton (who was at the time operating under the moniker of Ronin), Kate was encouraged to take on the mantle of Hawkeye.
Following numerous adventures alongside the Young Avengers, Kate went on to become partners with Clint Barton.  Clint had resumed his role as Hawkeye and the pair decided that they could share the name.  Some time thereafter, Kate joined a new iteration of The Young Avengers and battled the inter-dimensional parasite known as ‘Mother.’
Following further adventures alongside Barton, Kate relocated to Los Angeles and began a private investigation firm.  She discovered that her mother was still alive and was in league with the villainous Madam Masque, leading to multiple altercations between Kate and Masque’s criminal organization.  Whilst living in LA, Kate helped to forge a new iteration of The West Coast Avengers.  The team had a number of adventures together before Kate ultimately decided that managing an Avengers squad was more trouble than it was worth.  As such, Kate relocated back to New York and more recently resumed her private investigatory work, taking a job for her older sister.
A version of Kate Bishop features in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, debuting in the Disney+ Series Hawkeye, and portrayed by actress Hailee Steinfeld.  The heroine first appeared in the pages of Young Avengers Vol. 1 #1 (2005).

GOTG 3 Review (done by the characters I care about)
Disclaimer: I didn't watch the Christmas special
Peter: Has a complete alcoholism arc in the first ten minutes for some reason? It's implied he's been drinking a lot since Endgame and then, like 15 minutes in, he says out loud "This wouldn't've happened if I hadn't been drinking" and then that's just the end of it? My brother in Christ, this movie is 2 and a half hours long, maybe cut that bit aye?
He is very much just another character in this entry. Most of his lines could easily be given to Mantis or Nebula and nothing would really change. Chris Pratt looks visibly unenthused to be here most of the time.
(New) Gamora: Honestly, could've been left out of the MCU entirely since her death in Infinity War. Zoe Saldana is the best part of every MCU film she's been in.
In this film though, she starts off with the Ravagers >> maybe learns that she's a slightly better person than she thought >> goes back to the Ravagers.
She's basically just sort of "also there" for the whole film, and is often just acting as a foil for Peter's arc (which, btw, is realising that this woman who looks like his dead girlfriend isn't actually his dead girlfriend; a fact he already knows).
Idk man, it's weird. I think Zoe just contractually had to be in this one?
Rocket: Is very much the main character of this film, but spends a good two-thirds of it asleep. You mainly see him in flashbacks where he's being abused/experimented on by the film's villain.
It's a very classic James Gunn thing I think; take a small and helpless guy and make the audience empathise with him because of how small and helpless he is. I guess it's not super nuanced in that way, but it's not necessarily an unenjoyable story for him.
It was weird that they decided to give us his origin in what is apparently the final entry of this trilogy though?
Like, "you've loved this character for 9 years now and this might be the last chance you get to see him and his friends all together again! How about we have sleep the entire time and, instead, explain exactly how he became who he was when you met him 5 movies ago!". It's kind of just silly (Dan Harmon articulates this idea really well here at 0:35-0:51).
Nebula: Gets more screen-time and characterization in this film, still not the most interesting character tho :/.
I also don't think that Karen Gillian can act :(. Would much rather have OG Gamora over her
Drax: Still just relegated to unfunny comic relief. His thing in the first movie was that his culture didn't have metaphors and he was a little careless/happy-go-lucky; he wasn't an idiot.
Ever since then? He has exclusively been an idiot.
Don't care, but feel sorry that Dave Bautista still has to play this role, even though he does very well in it <3
Groot: Again, hasn't been interesting since the first movie. He used to be this sort of mysterious, ancient, gentle giant type of character, but he's basically been just a type of sci-fi set dressing in all the movies since then.
I know James Gunn has said he's a brand new Groot from the one we see in that movie, but it's like... why? Compare the scenes of OG Groot to literally any scene of Gunn-written Groot and tell me which one is the more interesting character.
Adam Warlock: Surprisingly good. Unfortunately, he's that same James Gunn character of grown-up person with the mind of a child (think Killer Sharl in Suicide Squad), but it kinda works in this? I like that they let Will Poulter keep his accent and I look forward to seeing him written by more competent writers.

You mentioned commenting on GT Trunks' personality near the beginning of the GT rewatch and that the Shadow Dragons were retreads of former villains?, but I'm not sure I saw either explanation? Or am I mixing things up?
You're gonna have to tell me which episode I was on when I said that, because I'm not going to hunt for it.
The closest thing GT Trunks has to a personality is that he's the Responsible One on the spaceship crew. That is to say that he doesn't really have a personality at all. He just says things to help the plot move forward. Once he's back on Earth he blows off his responsibilities as Capsule Corp. President, so how responsible can he be?
And for much of the series he's just a cipher in the GT Jobber Squad, along with Goten, Gohan and Uub. Most of the time, you could switch his lines around with any other member of that group and no one would notice the difference.
I don't remember saying the Shadow Dragons were retreads of former villains, but Omega/Syn owes a lot to Cell and both Piccolos. Naturon's a body thief like Baby and Captain Ginyu, and I guess that's about it. The rest of them are just bland jerks who rely more on their elemental power sets to carry them through the story than any sort of motivation. "Ha ha ha, you're helpless against my [pollution/electricity/wind/fire/ice] powers!"

The day began the same way as every other, with perfect fishing weather and a carefree contentment that Rafael had only just come to appreciate. He made the familiar trek to the lake, fishing pole and Excalibur carefully laid in the bed of his truck.
While he lived in the closest thing to paradise that Rafael could have ever imagined, it didn’t mean that everything was perfect. He had his parents, but he missed his friends. He missed his brother. And it made him feel selfish for wishing they were here with him. They had done everything in their power to give him this, and here he was wishing for more.
He was so deep in his thoughts that he only barely noticed the subtle shift in magic in the air. The back of his neck prickled in a familiar way, and the grin was already reaching his face when he turned to face his visitor.
“Hope,” he breathed out, leaning down to pull her into his arms and gave her a tight hug. Her arms tightened around him in turn, and he wondered how she had managed to know that he needed this.
His heart warmed when she smiled at him, a habit that he didn’t think would ever go away fully. But at the same time, he could sense a change in her and a quiet sadness colored the edges of his smile. “So you did it then?”
Rafael wasn’t sure how much time had passed since the last time Hope came to the prison world, to deliver the news that she would need to die and activate her vampire side, and that the only way to kill Malivore was to kill Landon too. He’d never forget the way she told him, hesitating over her words like she expected him to blow up at her. Given his past, he supposed he couldn’t blame her for that either. Still, it had been some time, and while he had tried to push it from his mind, there were still times he wished he could have some way of knowing what had happened.
He hated feeling helpless.
So he listened patiently as Hope explained to him what happened, with her losing her grip on her humanity after she had turned and killed Landon. How she had been the villain in their stories for weeks until her family and the rest of the Squad had managed to break through to her. How apparently gods were real and were actually kind of assholes.
He let Hope talk, longer than he had ever remembered her talking at one time, but by the end of her story, he could sense that she needed this. To talk to someone who wasn’t there, who hadn’t experienced the depths of her cruelty. He didn’t mind being that person for her at all.
But she was still holding back, and Rafael continued to fish in silence, casting his line into the lake until she could work up the nerve to say what she needed to.
“Actually… it’s about Landon.”
 ***
Landon let out a quiet sigh as he wiped down the bar for what seemed like the thousandth time in the last few hours. It was ironic, for him to have been a phoenix, a creature that could never die, to becoming the Ferryman, another creature that could never die. It seemed like death was his constant companion no matter what, and while he had been working on accepting that, some days were harder than most.
Tonight, he just wanted to appreciate the calm before the next wave of dead souls came to seek advice on their way to peace. Turning to grab a bottle of whiskey, Landon poured himself two fingers, heard the telltale chime of another soul entering the bar, and poured himself another finger with a grimace.
Knocking back the drink in one swallow, he was glad that he had grown accustomed to the burn of cheap well whiskey when he saw who his latest companion was.
“Rafi?” His voice came out quiet, with more emotion than he remembered feeling since before he had ended up in limbo.
His brother looked as good as ever, standing tall with an easy grin on his face and his hands shoved in his pockets. “Hey Lan.”
Landon hopped over the bar and crashed into Rafael’s chest, tears stinging at his eyes as the other man embraced him tightly in return. His mind was racing a mile a minute, trying to understand how he was here. But his blood ran cold when he remembered that the only reason Rafael would be standing here in front of him was–
“You’re dead.”
The words came out flat, forcibly so, as Landon made himself step back and look Rafael in the eye. The taller man nodded and shrugged, and he reached out to grasp Landon’s shoulder.
“Hope told me what happened. With everything with her humanity, all the gods shit, and what happened to you.”
Landon felt a dull fury ignite in his chest. “She shouldn’t have said anything. This was my choice.”
“I know, Lan. And so does she.” Rafael kept his hand steady on his shoulder, trying to keep him calm. “This was my choice too.”
Raf pulled Landon into another tight hug, just glad to actually be able to be here with him. The prison world was fine, it was exactly what he made of it and he wouldn’t have been upset about living the rest of his natural life there.
“I was living on borrowed time anyways, and we both know that we can’t cheat death constantly without paying some kind of price.” It was a sobering truth, and one that he had tried to explain to his parents when he told them of his decision. Landon nodded quietly, understanding the experience of having one foot in the land of the living and one foot in the land of the dead.
“This way, you and I are together. Like we always promised.”
For Rafael, it really was that simple. Wherever Landon went, Rafael would follow. Just because they needed to expand their definition of how big the world was didn’t change this truth for him.
“You don’t want to move on to peace?” Landon asked abruptly, more bluntly than he might have in the past, but he’s lost his touch for that recently.
“You’re my peace, Lan. If you’re here, then so am I, and that’s that.”
Without waiting for a reply, Rafael stepped behind the bar as the door opened once more, and a few souls began to wander in. Slinging a rag over his shoulder, he looked over at Landon with a grin and a challenge in his eye.
“Let’s go, brother.”

@inimiicus:
character meme: ardyn jazz hands
---
Opinions
First impression • I have to level with you guys, as one of those bi of sexuals you’ll hear a lot about this month, I just. When it comes to the over-the-top, super camp, sassy villain who is also genuinely scary, my response is automatic. I see, I love. He was already great. Aspirational. Iconic. An absolute treasure to behold. A gift to my eyeballs. Ardyn didn’t need to be more than that for me to appreciate him, and at first, I didn’t think he would be.
Impression now • Like the great philosopher Cloud once said: hoo boy. You know when a property fucks up a character so severely that they’re kind of obligated to give them a redemption story down the line, and it’s so obviously hamfisted that people respond with, “wOw, tHaT FixEd eVerYtHiNg!”? That, but unironically for Episode Ardyn. Not that Ardyn was especially broken to begin with, it was just frustrating that we never got a full grasp on his motivations or place in the narrative. While giving the villain a Tragic Backstory™©® in order to make them sympathetic is a hamfisted and annoying move most of the time, XV really pulled it off for me. After learning the kind of person he used to be, what was done to him, and the existence he’s been forced into, he doesn’t really come off so bad anymore. Especially if you reject Bahamut at first, and witness the cruel and inhumane lengths he’s willing to go to, to see his own will done. Much like with Regis, I’m left wondering what I’m supposed to be angry about. He’s up against a literal god. And clearly XV isn’t interested in being that kind of jrpg (though it really should have been, salt, salt). Not only do we have context to his behaviour, but it actually shifts the dynamic of the entire cast, world, and story, because the villain no longer seems villainous, and the hero doesn’t feel quite so much like a hero, as much as he does a helpless pawn. (But that’s an entire other rant I may go into someday.) I suppose in the end, all I really want for Ardyn is justice for his character. Not to harp on Dawn or anything, but I really liked that ending for him. He found peace in death or whatever; more important is that he did it on his own terms, regaining his agency in his final moments. He chose how to go, was able to reconcile with his brother, and take his justice from a cruel and unforgiving god that was willing to raise 114 generations of his own blood to slaughter. Honestly, call me captain of the Ardyn Defence Squad, because I’d go to war for this greasy weirdo, Man Of Every Consequence.
Favorite moment • It’s a tie. “For what sins must I atone??” SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK. But also, probably the entire talk with Bahamut, because again, that’s the thing that shifts his character from Sassy Villain to genuinely devastating. You really get an image of just how helpless and powerless this seemingly all-powerful man is in the face of his destiny. And it’s all capped off by knowing that he became this way because he wanted so desperately to help others. I just can’t fault him for that. And finally, the moment he kills Luna. I hate that for Luna a lot, but I love how she reaches out and tries to offer her help. You see this perfect, unbreakable facade of carelessness crack, and it elicits one of the few honest-to-goodness reactions we ever see from him. He’s disgusted, afraid, and a little hopeful all at once. All because someone was kind to him for the first time in a couple thousand years.
Idea for a story • I’m still hung up on anything that lets him and Luna be besties. He needs a friend. I’d also like to see a deviation in canon where he instantly regrets harming Luna and manages to help her somehow, sparing her life and forcing him to reconsider his actions and accept her help.
Unpopular opinion • Honestly, if what I’ve already said thus far isn’t too unpopular, then there’s nothing I can add that would be so. Ardyn began as a great villain and ended as something between that and a sympathetic antihero. I just want more for him.
Favorite relationship • I really, really wanted to see more of his relationship with Somnus. It was intriguing and nuanced, with neither side wholly in the right or wrong, and their rivalry stoked by forces well beyond them. I like that Dawn gave Somnus the chance to truly apologise, and I like to think that, in kinder circumstances, they could have been an amazing team.
Favorite headcanon • That, after daylight returns, Ardyn’s rightful place in Lucian history is cemented; not just as the Accursed, but as the man who was almost King, but for his boundless compassion, and willingness to put himself in harm’s way to save others. It’s what he deserves.

Seth ‘Snake Eyes’ Dice Backstory
@shyrenthedawndragon made a post about Tia’s backstory, I decided to make my own!
This is the story of Seth Snake-Eyes, also the villain known as King Dice
Seth was always a troublemaker
He never stayed in the orphanage
He pickpocketed.
What could he say? He was a kleptomaniac!
He’d scam people with all kinds of tricks, unwinable bets, loaded dice, all kinds of tricks.
He’d make large stacks off casino’s!
Then it all went wrong.
He was starting an unwinnable bet, he had proved the dice weren’t loaded, and would now start the bet
“I win, I get all your money, I lose, you take all mine. 123 I win, 456 you lose.” seth proposed
The old man stroked his beard, “to be clear, 123 I win, 456 you lose?”
“Yes!” Seth didn’t think much of it
He rolled the dice, “3″ it read
“Ooooooh. 3-”
“Pay up.”
“We-”
“It’s what we agreed on.” The mans manevolent grin screamed trouble
Seth looked back through his memory
He was outsmarted!
“Look kid, you remind me of yourself when I was younger. I’ll help you out. Keep your money, just come with me...”
For the next 2 years, he learned from a master criminal the art of the steal.
For another 4, he learned different Magic’s, misdirections and illusions, conjurations and alterations, transmutations, hexes, curses
Jack of all trades, master of one.
Conjurations were always the easiest to achieve.
When his master died, he went on to be his own villain, he is a close ally of the “heLPless” and will join their missions occasionally.

Amethystdia’s Backstory
@amethystdia @dramaticmari
For the irl Villain! AU. This is a present! Hope you guys like it~
Ame was cold. It was dark. She ran away from home. Home wasn’t even “home”, it was just a place where she had a bed, food and a small, small place to call her own.
It was about time to run away.
She grit her teeth and growled. Pulling her backpack full of her essentials closer to her to try and warm up, she growled and sniffed the chilling air.
“It’s not fair. Why can so many others be happy, yet I have the worst "family”.“ Ame hissed quietly. She didn’t stop walking though, salvation was near within this heartless Kingdom. So many times she had asked them to help her. They simply scoffed at her and told her to shush. Told her to watch for the prettiest and the purest. Told her that her parents were perfect. Told her to stop whining about nothing.
Her parents. They looked like the perfect pair from the outside. Her mother; fair, pale, angelic. Her father; crisp, cool, loving.
But remember what they tell you, "Never judge a book by it’s cover”.
Her mother was obsessed with staying young and beautiful. She neglected her because of her obsession with beauty.
Her father wasn’t any better. He constantly went out for publicity stunts. He never stayed home for too long, the most longest time she remembered was 10 minutes. 10 minutes.
It was just unfair.
So this is what happened. Light. She could see light. She was getting closer.
This place. She needed to get away from this place. It smelt of makeup and plastic.
Ame began to run. It was huge. Cars parked outside, patiently waiting. Planes were carefully lined up, waiting for take off. She didn’t have a ticket, but she didn’t need one to get out of here.
She’d be able to find food by watching the trashcans. Some people would throw away perfectly good food, still packaged because they were under the impression that you wouldn’t be able to bring anything edible through the way to the plane vendors.
She went inside and audibly sighed as a burst of warm air hit her body, soothing it from it’s pains.
Right. She needed that plane. To get to there, the place in which dreams came true.
Taking the backpack off her shoulders, she breathed out a huge huff of air. It was now or never.
“Fake Passport? Check. Emergency Currency? Check. Old aeroplane ticket? Check. Sketchbook?-”
Ame loved her sketchbook. It contained all of the fashion designs that she had thought up, from when she was only 6 to now. It was her precious. Ideas for clothes, accessories and touches of makeup.
“Check.”
Ding-Ding
She ran into the ticket checking lady when the time for the plane was just about to leave. The tickets the lady had in her hands scattered all of the floor, including Ame’s ticket. Ame said that she saw her father go onto the plane and the reason as to why she was late was because she was getting some water for said father.
Ame smiled as she realised that the Lady was hurrying her to go onto the plane as she began to pick up all the scattered tickets.

Lift off.
Ame went straight to the toilet and waiting for it. This was the perfect excuse for not sitting down yet, as she watched all of the seats for middle class. There had to be empty seats, especially at the back.
She smiled. There were.
She had successfully gotten away from home. To a place where dreams came true.
This airport smelt of work, effort and ambition.
She quickly scampered out and asked for directions to the nearest care home or orphanage. That would be her bunking site.
“Next… Oh, part time job!”
She couldn’t aquire a part time job.
“Too young. Your license does prove that you come from a high fashion-business chain, but from your sketch work and age, I’d say this is a fake.”
“That card is not a fake! I am a close relative to the owners of this fashion company! I am not lying!”
“Suuurreee you aren’t little girl,”
“Fine. I’ll go. You’ll regret it though.”
She began stealing. Money was getting less and less everyday so it was a good pastime to do so.
Sneaky as a fox she was.
Some orphans even called her “Foxtrot” as a joke sometimes, as she gave some of her spare change over to them, telling tales on how she did so. They were like her cousins in a way. Close enough, but not too close.
It all began with that person who defied her. In the job office, saying she was a fake.
She sure gave him Hell after that.
She pretended to leave the building, and then waited at the Staff Exit for that pompous human to show up.
He did in the end show up, not to mention looking rather scruffy. Loose coins in trouser pockets, untied tie and a very fine trenchcoat that would sell rather well.
It would be a shame if that trenchcoat was taken. It would be an even bigger shame if he lost all that loose change… So, she went for it, sneakily under the cover of the darkening sky, hiding in foliage of trees and shrubs.
Ame crouched, the adrenaline on what she was about to do was intoxicating. Flooding her sences like a numbing blanket. She was alive. It was almost fun in a way, doing something that scandalous and having a high percentage of getting caught, but it just excited her.
She was going to commit a crime. Why did she not feel scared doing so? Why did it only make her go crazy with anticipation? Was it because of the way she grew up?
Ame needed a distraction to be able to get to his pockets quick enough.
She thought, taking off the backpack that she carried so dearly around with her. After all, it kept her most precious object, why would she just leave it lazily somewhere?
“… A note. A creepy letter. That would be enough to distract him.”
It worked. The slap-dash creepy letter she had written had in fact worked! It was almost comical in a way, with a page from her sketchbook and an inky, ball-point pen she carried with her sketchbook she had managed to create a silly, horror note.
She watched him slowly walk up to the crumpled note, clearly interested, before bending downward to reach for it.
It was at this moment she let out an ear-piercing screech that had rattled her own throat.
She inwardly smirked as she watched her victim freeze up in fear.
This was when she sprung into action.
“HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME!”
She pretended to scream, waiting for the man to do something, anything first.
As she had predicted, he began to run, towards the sound of her voice.
She shuffled quietly into the bushes before turning so she was following behind him in the shadows. It was really getting dark now, some highlights of sun shining in her eyes.
“Wait… There’s nobody here…?”
She pounced onto his back, making sure her hand was forcefully keeping his neck down on the ground. She kicked him hard in the groin with her shoed foot to make him double over in pain and she began to steal the coins that resided in his back pockets.
He still hadn’t seen her face. He was beginning to think of fighting back, so she hit him hard on the back of his head to try and divert his attention.
Funnily enough, it was successful.
She then began to swiftly reel up the lovely trenchcoat he wore, replacing it with a ragged, drappy scarf she had found left on a park bench.
“That should let him not notice the coat for a little…”
She then ran for her life, and never looked back.
Now, it was just a part of her daily routine.
She had become a master stealer.
She was sitting at a public food court. Residing silently in the corner at the very back so she wouldn’t attract attention.
She was chewing on a sandwich she had managed to hussle out from being thrown away whilst still in packaging whilst drawing in her sketchbook. She still longed to be a fashion designer, to have the most beautiful of garnets all on front display. It was just in her blood.
She was about to leave. Her sketchbook safely in the bag hanging on her shoulders.
A figure approached her. A fairly young man wearing a befitting, ominous black coat and matching hat. All she could see was the malicious smirk plastered on the stranger’s face.
“Greetings Foxtrot… Or should I say Ame? You’ve been on my radar for a while and I am personally very intrested with you.”
Ame inhaled.
“I’m sorry sir, you must of mistook me for another person.” She answered evenly, beginning to try and walk away without even glancing back.
“Ah-”
He blocked her way out with his wide frame.
“I’m afraid Miss Ame, that I defiantly know I’m not mistaken. I’ve been following you ever since you did your first knock-out crime. Oh? That seems like a long time ago now I think about it. It was very entertaining watching you grow.”
“Listen here Sir, just get straight to the point and what is it that you want from me?” She hissed, almost bearing teeth in the process.
“I’d like to recruit you as a personal designer as well as material provider for my group. Your designs flourish in that sketchbook of your’s. I know about your current financial situation and I will willingly pay you for your services. Don’t worry, I’m not lying sweetie. I’ve seen your potential first hand~” He practically purred.
“How much? What times will I work? How can I even trust a shady person like you to begin with?” She bit out, gritting her molars. She clutched her bag closer.
“Payment? Ah, I’d think about more than 50 per hour. Your schedule is all up to you, the minimum amount of time you have to come is 2 days.”
“Hnn… You promise I’ll get to be a fashion designer?”
“Of course dearie.”
“Deal.” Ame instantly replied. She inwardly grinned.
Now, Amethystdia works for “heLPless” as the group’s personal styler and supplier. Content and happy with herself as bit by bit she creates her own clothes by stealing from others. Material and design.
“Mother, Father, are you proud of me yet? I finally have my own clothes lines!”

The End! I’ve been working on this for a long time- ^^;; Hope you guys enjoy. - Dawn/Sem

Forgotten Promises

Pairing: Shigaraki Tomura x reader
Warnings: yandere, noncon, kidnapping, mentions of torture, Shigaraki being a creep.
Words: 1.2k
Summary: You were well aware one day he would catch you, a traitor who was ought to be his confidante but chose to abandon him instead.
________
"Long time no see."
You didn't shiver when you heard his voice, your arms and legs tied tightly to some kind of bedstead where you laid helpless like a sacrificial lamb on the altar. You knew this was going to happen one day even with all that crowd of heroes surrounding you to protect you from Shigaraki. Of course, they only bought you some time because those who betrayed the League lived very shortly. As for those who betrayed its psychopatic leader personally the way you did...
Oh, you were long prepared for what was coming for you.
"Hi, Tomura."
You didn't see his figure in the darkness of the room - or whatever this godforsaken place was - but you could clearly feel his presence somewhere close. Shigaraki must have waited for this moment for so long he was savoring every second of it now, watching you lay defenseless in front of him, unable to even move a finger, left completely at his mercy. You could imagine the expression on his face, the things he was going to tell you, pointing out how incredibly stupid it was of you to betray All For One and become one of the Heroes' squad instead.
The things he shouted when he saw you leaving in the middle of the battle were much harsher.
"You're a fucking whore!" Face distorted with hatred, he tried chasing you despite knowing you had already been out of his reach. "I'll break your every bone and skin you alive when I get to you!"
You kept seeing him in your nightmares for months after that, shivering from the thought what would happen if he really caught you. Too bad you weren't just one more member of the gang, some simple criminal Shigaraki would pay no mind - on the contrary, being the only one who could handle his deadly touch thanks to your Quirk, you were given to him by All For One personally. You were supposed to be some kind of confidante for him just like Kurogiri, but with time you realized your master wanted you to be Tomura's personal toy, a girl he would keep for his own comfort. Although neither of you confided in each other, you knew Shigaraki had been slowly developing feelings for you day by day for years as you served him like a companion, following him everywhere, playing in his games, figthing alongside him if you needed to - even if Tomura was twisted and corrupted, he still longed for intimacy despite all his hatred, and you were his only possible option.
It wasn't hard to imagine his reaction when he found out you were leaving the League of Villains, abandoning him.
You wondered how vengeful he was going to get after all these years, having so much time to plan your punishment, imagining how you were going to cry and plead him for forgiveness. Well, it was very likely you would, tortured to death by him, but it didn’t change the fact you did a lot to help the heroes, ruining so many plans of All For One you certainly had been his personal headache for years. Nothing would change it even if Tomura tormented you as much as he wanted.
As you finally saw him coming from behind, his figure blocking the light coming from a lonely bulb hanging from the ceiling, you flinched, grimacing as you saw Shigaraki's red eyes staring at you intently. The son of a bitch was smirking while he looked over you as if you were his trophy.
His light blue hair changed its color and grew longer than you remembered them; the skin around his eyes had twice more wrinkles, making Shigaraki look like a century-old teenager, and his neck was bruised just like when you were still a part of the League. While you thought he didn't look too different, Tomura matured. He was no longer a raw-boned video kid, and the change made you think you had no idea what he had become and how he was going to treat you. You were certain about a single thing - he was surely going to make you suffer.
"Do you like what you see?" You asked, annoyed he was staring at you for so long and saying nothing.
He let out a chuckle, leaning over until he brushed his nose against your cheek, making you shiver, "I do."
As he inhaled deeply, you realized he was sniffing you. What a creep, you thought as you clenched your teeth.
You hated this uncertainty, not knowing what he was planning to do, and soon it was impossible for you to stay silent, "What are you-"
But before you could finish, you felt his warm, slimy tongue licking a long stripe from your chin to your cheek, leaving your skin wet from his saliva. Quickly squeezing your eyes shut, you held your breath, hoping it was all a bad dream. What the fuck was he doing? Sure, he reached puberty a long time ago, but you thought he was going to do something more violent to you - in the end, you hurt his pride more than anyone else did.
"You're awfully quiet now," you could feel his smirk with your skin. "But, I guess, you'll be pleading me to stop a little later. Or rather not to stop?"
Cringing, you opened your eyes only to stare in the face of Shigaraki right above yours as he held your bound wrists, clenching them painfully, "I expected you'd be more creative with my punishment. Last time you promised to skin me alive."
"That would be boring and pretty useless," he rolled his eyes in irritation, his hand touching the fabric of your shirt only to decay it immediately. "Are you so desperate for your punishment? Maybe that's why it was so easy to catch you."
You wanted to tell him he needed years to get close to you, but you kept your mouth shut. Only god knew what this creep had planned for you, and it was stupid to provoke him when Shigaraki was already drooling on your face. You just hoped he did it only to scare the shit out of you.
"I knew you'd get me one day."
"Then why did you run?" His sharp eyes made you froze as he loomed over you, his expression frightening.
You turned your head away, "You know why. You wouldn't follow me anyway, so I did what I had to."
"No, I wouldn't," strangely satisfied with your answer, the Grand Commander finally took a step back, giving you space, and you remembered how to breathe again.
There was this unnerving silence again, and you tried to toss and turn on the bedstead, exhausted from the run earlier and being tied for far too long. What was in his head? Was he really going to rape you as a way of demonstrating his dominance over you? It sounded insane, but you reminded yourself you had no idea how much Tomura had changed. Maybe that was what All For One told him to do to you... although this was rather questionable. It almost looked like Shigaraki was taking something he thought had always belonged to him, a way to make you remember all your efforts had always been futile while he held real power over you.
"So, what's next on my menu?" You asked loudly, unable to hold your tongue. "Breaking my bones, was it?"
You heard him chuckle.
"No, but it'll hurt," he whispered as he left his hooded coat on the floor, standing in front of you so you could see him getting undressed, his deeply bruised skin making you nauseated. "It'll hurt you just right."

SBI Fic Rec pt.2
Tommyinnit's clinic for supervillains by bonesandthebees
Ongoing/80k/ 12/? chapters
Summary: “W-What do you- I mean can I- are you here to rob us?” The person managed to stammer out. Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.” “Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?” “I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?” “Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
So good. Cannot praise this fic enough. Healer!Tommy with his endless amount of kindness and empathy starts healing villains and unintentionally creates Tommy Protection Squad made up of the worst villains in the city (with Wilbur/Siren as the president of the fanclub)
To Decay Gracefully by SilverWing15
Completed/12k/8/8 chapters
Summary: Wilbur’s eyes burn with tears. Here is this kid, this fucking sixteen year old kid, who died. Alone and scared and helpless, and now he’s a fucking ghost. He’s trapped in the house of the man who killed him, ceaselessly hiding in the closet, waiting for the monster to come and get him. Its been ten fucking years and Tommy is worried about Tubbo. “He got away,” Wilbur says. ‘You didn’t he thinks, ‘you didn’t and its such a goddamned tragedy because you could have been great. You would have been great. If only someone had given you the chance. If only that chance wasn’t taken away from you.’OR: Phil and his sons are reapers, called to a quaint little house in the countryside. It is their duty to help the lost soul move on, but they find more things far more haunting than a ghost locked in this house
It's Silver. I can literally recommend any fic from their series and I can guarantee it will be good. But this fic specifically made me actually sob. So yes, gets pretty angsty but has a happy ending (as much as there can be considering Tommy is already dead you know). So beautifully written.
a saint bernard sits (satanic and chained up) by anxielin
Ongoing/15k/10/? chapters
Summary: Tommy is being sold on the black market as a direwolf, and someone takes interest. The problem? He isn't a direwolf, or even a standard wolf— he's a wolf-shifter, stuck in his animal form to keep his deadly secret from being exposed.
Werewolf!Tommy having to pretend to be a dog because he is scared if the SBI find out they will kill him before finding out that the SBI just want to Help Him. Copious amounts of hurt/comfort. Tommy slowly learning to be a part of the family in wolf form and now as a human.
Mischief and Mayhem by SilverWing15
Completed/7k/1/1 chapters
Summary: He is shaking now, but he isn’t cold. He fastens shackles around his wrists, his fingers fumble with the key. This is a stupid idea, this is his only idea. His only hope of surviving. The weight of the shackles is familiar, like an old friend. The creak of the cage door, like a song he knows by heart. He tosses the key into one of the nearby fires, hoping that it will be lost in the ashes. He looks enough like a prisoner, like a human, that it could work. It could save his life. Or he’s cornered and chained himself, but it isn’t as though Tommy would stand a chance against demon hunters anyway
Half!Demon Tommy is rescued by demon hunters SBI and has to pretend to be a human as he believes they will kill him if they find out. Tommy's fear and how its eventually soothed is written so well. Once again. The hurt/comfort on this one is exquisite. I love how Tommy's and Wilbur's relationship is written in this and it also feeds my need for possessive Wilbur.
Blood and Thunder by Anonymous
Ongoing/36k/10/? chapters
Summary: "Please," Tommy whispers. His knees give out beneath him and he crumples at the feet of the most powerful group of ghouls in all of L'manberg. "Please let me go. I- I don't want to die." "Oh, mate." The tone is soft, breathed through barely parted lips. Hands cup Tommy's face and it's tipped back, forced to meet red, hungry eyes. "We're not going to hurt you. We're here to save you." Tokyo Ghoul Inspired au
For those that don't know what Tokyo Ghoul is: this fic gets really gory about eating human body parts. But I love how the world-building is done and how Tommy's character development is written. It's Dark!SBI and by that I mean that they murder people for fun and are not hang-up about it. But they would also kill and die for Tommy and I'm soft for that so they can have a little cannibalism and murder, as a treat.
Its Free Son by SilverWing15
Completed/3.5k/1/1 chapters
Summary: He comes from the realm of the dead. Through the doorway that stands alone on the far off hill. He walks across the Soul Sand desert as though it does not tug at the essence of himself. He wears sacred gold and carries weapons of precious netherite. He is a god, and they have been his favored people for as long as anyone can remember. He comes to their village and trades sacred gold for their potions and eyes of ender. The Blood God walks among them, and they are honored. They have always traded fairly with the Blood God. Sacred gold for offerings of pearls potions and other difficult to acquire things. But this time the Blood God granted them his favor, this time he turned aside their enemies with his open hand and took nothing in return. It is not done to simply take from the gods. The debt must always be repaid. He has saved their lives, they must offer him a life in return. And their eyes fall on him. Technoblade is not a coward. He has faced the enemy in battle, he has seen the Blood God in all his wrathful glory. But he doesn’t want to die.
Immortal!Phil being worshipped as a deity by the piglins and being offered Techno as a human sacrifice. All he wanted was some ender pearls for some gold What the Fuck. Part of a series where Techno also gets Free Brothers and Free Best Friend.

You know what I really want out of DC more than anything out there....A comic where Starfire and Oracle (wheelchair bound, Pre-Flashpoint Oracle mind you) are basically an Odd Couple Superhero team going on numerous adventures together, whether in Gotham, Bludhaven, Tamaran, wherever their skills can mesh together to save the day. The difference and dynamic between them not focused one bit about Dick but rather their personalities contrasting, like say Kori's mostly sunny and bright warrior bound loyalty and continually growing fascination with Earth culture with its similarities and differences with her own, all balanced by Barbara's more realist, down to Earth, pragmatic, snarky and slightly more dour viewpoint. If the two talk about Dick at all, it would be to point out the guy's quirks and embarrassing moments the two witnessed first hand whether ad Robin or Nightwing. Thoughts?
I do agree it'd be nice to see Babs and Kory have interactions not based on Dick
I do think they also have just as many similarities as differences as well that could be explored.
Babs is one of the still generally-heroic Batfam members who is most okay with lethal force in some situations, such as when Carmichael* was coming after her (she would have killed him or at least tried to if Amanda Waller hadn't rescued/stopped her) and when she gives Huntress the go ahead to use lethal force on joker-ified villains if she has to to rescue tim during last laugh. Kory is not really "pro" lethal force; she values life and doesn't kill people when she's working with the Titans, but she's not really against it either -- she doesn't see the big deal of killing her enemies in battle and she was definitely going to kill the Hive dude who murdered her boyfriend until Donna stopped her.
I'll also say though I don't really think that Kory is unrealistic or unpragmatic. Kory also definitely has a bit of a pragmatist streak it just doesn't show up the way that it does for other characters. Kory's pragmatism is specifically NOT killing people when she otherwise would or would not find it a big deal. There's also this interesting character analysis wrt her marriage arc on tamaran and pragmatism (link)
I also think there's some interesting points they can come together on - specifically babs' initial thought to use lethal force on Carmichael is that she doesn't ever want to be as helpless as she was again, and for Kory the idea of losing her freedom is a huge trigger (understandably) for her.
I think a huge difference they'd have is actually where dick and kory clashed which is kory is a very emotionally open person and babs is most definitely not. Not like that would be an issue in a quick team up but if they got close I could see it being a point of contention, especially as a) kory got a bit miffed with dick when he was trying to solve everything himself and not letting her in and help him and b) dick was trying to convince BABS to let him in earlier and help her omg the irony is lost on him (granted this was like before they were officially dating i think.... )
either way I do agree that they could have really good interactions handled by someone who liked both characters and didn't want to simplify either of them
*this was her villain in suicide squad he was an evil comptuer guy who could brainwash people

320 bits I wanna talk about
Tumblr media
Iieda looks like he’s doing the *inhale* before the BOI IF YOU DON’T- meme. Something along the lines of “BOI IF YOU DON’T GET YOUR ASS BACK TO UA-” kind of thing lol.
He holding something in definitely. Maybe charging up for an attack? Idk but he sure seems concentrated
Actually, Iieda seems kinda considering. Maybe he’s weighing up if he should join in the fight, as if he’s asking “Will I have to fight Midoriya, if it comes down to it? Or can the others handle this?” Something tells me he doesn’t want to have to weigh in on the fight. Maybe tear into Izuku verbally, but fight? No I don’t think he wants to do that
But also, I find it interesting that that black panel of text is under him and then it cuts to Bakugou yelling at Izuku. I mean, it could very well be Bakugou thinking that, but if that’s so, then why is Iieda the first person we see?
So, I think it’s Iieda thinking that. Tensions are rising, it seems. I’m expecting his turn to be full of a lot of emotion, or at least trying to get across to Izuku that he feels betrayed but mostly just wants Izuku to come back home.
I don’t really know what’ll happen with Iieda exactly, but I’m totally interested to see what happens
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know Bakugou has problems with his emotions and words and stuff, but I also think here he’s trying to anger Izuku in order to get him to fight back, maybe so he’s more angry than flexible in a fight, so the end result would be Izuku getting too angry to predict anything and eventually tripping up, and that’s when 1A could capture him.
The one thing to remember about Izuku is that allowing him to think is going to be the opponent’s downfall. We saw in the Kacchan VS Deku 2 fight that Bakugou knew this and so kept attacking as much as possible so Izuku wouldn’t have time to think. Which worked, because Izuku is great at analysis, so making his “Win” attitude [getting competitive therefore putting more energy into attacking than strategy] come out over his “Save” attitude [you’re my friend and I want to help you] is kind of a weakness of his. That’s kind of one of the reasons he lost that fight.
Then again, maybe Izuku has improved since then? I don’t really know but I think enough time has passed for him to have maybe improved more on that so idk we’ll see
I really love Bakugou’s expression in that bottom screencap lol
Tumblr media
His wound!! All bandaged up!! I wonder if there’s a scar there or smthg :O
Tumblr media
LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Tumblr media
I know Enji or Bakugou probably gave them details about the multiple quirks but I still find it wild that everyone just knows now
Tumblr media
KOUDA! MY SWEETHEART! I’m glad he’s getting a part in this too, along with Sero. Two of them who didn’t really hang around Izuku but still want him to come back :’)
Tumblr media
Sero and Black Whip! Finally! I mean it’s not much but it’s still better than nothing
Also, seems like Sero is trying to taunt Izuku to get him to attack him maybe [same as Bakugou feeding into Izuku’s competitive side] soooo idk Sero following Bakugou’s lead? Maybe :)
Tumblr media
Look at how,,,, innocent Izuku looks,,,,, *head in hands* AND SERO TEACHING HIM!!
Tumblr media
I knew this lil moment would come bite me in the ass at some point, I knew and yet I’m still tearing up goddamn
That “I thought she was going to tell me its a useless hobby” bit really drives home how Izuku’s friends are 1A, that he loves them and they were the only friends he’s ever had [except Bakugou but he was a bully at the time so I’m not really gonna count him for back then]. HOW many people before UA had gone around and told Izuku his taking notes hobby was useless? SHOW me the people!
I, mettywiththenotes, will NOT allow anybody to slander one of my own!
Tumblr media
I know it’s like the only moment Izuku and Ojiro shared, with the sports festival thing, but it’s still really sweet that Ojiro sees that Izuku stood up for him
Tumblr media
*head in hands*
Shouldn’t this kid be more worried that he’s likely going to get kidnapped?
“Yeah this super evil villain guy has decided he wants to kidnap me and take me away, but like nbd guys really, that’s why I left in the first place! So I wouldn’t be a burden!” Somebody get this kid a fucking therapist or some shit
This is kind of a chilling and pretty scene though. The rain falling above Izuku and him looking down with these piercing green eyes likely being the only light between them. Good stuff.
Tumblr media
Satou! Aha I like how he’s pulling all the stops, such as “I WON’T LET YOU BORROW MY INGREDIENTS FOR ERI!”
Also let’s appreciate that Satou caught Ojiro and Jirou and managed to land on a freaking traffic light. The balance on this kid! Very well done
Tumblr media
Kaminari putting Izuku in a headlock! How cute :)
Be cuter if they weren’t trying to subdue a martyr-complex cryptid from killing himself, but still
Tumblr media
Does Shouji have some kind of support-item?? Or could he always do the stretchy thing?? Or I guess maybe he’s just stretching his arms out like branches [like he usually does] and using them as more like a capture weapon rather than his usual stuff. I don’t think we’ve ever seen him use his heteromorph body and quirk for anything other than the 5 senses, though I could be wrong
Also Shouji remembering what Izuku said at the training camp, I’m so glad! Shouji always seems like the kind to be so protective over his friends, so I’m glad he remembered that. Then again, Izuku did compare them to freaking ALL MIGHT, but if the nice analytical kid in your class who knows your limits and strengths says you could basically beat A GOD, then that’s definitely one for the memory scrapbook lmao
“It’s nice and dark here, Dark Shadow.” Who said that?? Kami or Izuku?? I just have this mental image of Izuku being shrouded in darkness and trying to keep his eyes open from falling asleep haha

Tokoyami remembering that from all the way back then!! It makes me think that not only have Bakugou and Izuku been watching each other, but that Izuku has always had everybody’s eyes on him! Which is true, he’s inspired everyone! It goes both ways; Izuku loving his friends, and them loving him back :’)
Kami telling him to take a bath lmao I love it. Finally somebody said it

*ugly sobbing noises*
This kind of segment, with a mask falling, a space in-between and a reveal, reminds me of Compress’ reveal :) In that, the person is hiding their identity and then when the mask comes off, they reveal who they truly are underneath
While Izuku is of course determined to go after AFO and is quite the fearsome powerhouse, I really think when he takes off that mask, he’s showing who he really is underneath - a scared little boy who just wants everyone to be happy

JESUS, SHOUTO REALLY IMPROVED HIS QUIRK HUH!! LOOK AT IT, IT’S EVEN HIGHER THAN THE SKYSCRAPERS!!
“The burden placed on you... it doesn’t allow for tears, right?” He sounds so sassy here.
Kind of like saying “Oh you look upset. But that’s weird, I thought Heroes weren’t supposed to cry.” Lol it really shows here how pissed Shouto is at Izuku
But then he relents from that snark and is like “Hey, come on, we’ll share this burden. I’m not letting you go it alone, remember that we’re all here.” :’)
I love when Shouto is sassy and passive aggressive but I also love it when he shows that soft side of him

Okay, this is something I really love.
Tsuyu didn’t join the Bakugou Rescue Squad because “they would be just like Villains breaking the rules”
But here she is, learning from that regret of hers and coming right back to make sure Izuku isn’t the one struggling. She wants to be a part of this rescue squad and pick up where she left off :)
Tsuyu has always struggled with her regrets. It was shown after Kamino when she cried, but for me, I only realised this fully during the Joint Arc when she had her regrets about not making better decisions and not being quick enough [I think that was it].
“I won’t cry in such a flurry” reminds me of “I want to live a life without regret” and so that’s what she’s saying here. This won’t be another regret of hers. She wants to do her best to save her friend
“When scared, you’re allowed to tremble when it’s tough, you’re allowed to shed tears. That’s how you become a Hero like in the comics.”
I feel like that quote piggybacks off of Shouto’s “Heroes cry too”, in that, this is now 1A comforting Izuku. This is them fully coming up to him and telling him that they can help, and that he’s allowed to feel sad about his situation. Shouto’s quote was the teaser, while this entire chapter [and the rest that come to follow] is the main course.
And this is exactly who Tsuyu is. Reassuring, comforting, someone dependable. It says a lot that she’s come from not going to help in Kamino, confessing her feelings and crying about it, then coming back in a similar situation and offering her help - that she’s not willing to just let an opportunity go to better herself. I think I remember reading a few posts on her crying after Kamino and saying it was “performative” or that she just “wanted attention” or smthg like that, but I think she’s really just quite an honest person, and here she is making a great show of how she won’t let something like her guilt slow her down from being the hero she wants to be.
[A part of me feels like this is also a little more evidence with the whole People Not Caring About Bakugou’s Feelings Of Helplessness but like. I digress. It kinda counts but at the same time, it’s not what is going on at the moment.]
Seeing everyone try to reassure Izuku was lovely, and I can’t wait for the rest. I’ve seen a lot of people waiting more for Bakugou’s portion of the battle [AND YEAH DUDE ME TOO] but I really feel like Bakugou’s won’t come until like 2 chapters later or something.
Cause, if this chapter is anything to go by, we’ll probably get through Mina, Mineta, Kirishima, Hagakure and Aoyama next chapter, and then we’ll move onto the “more important” conflicts which will be Iieda and Uraraka, and if their segments are chocked with tension drama and tears, then Bakugou will have a whole chapter to himself hopefully.
Which means we’ll probably have to wait 2 more chapters until we get that sweet, sweet Bakugou chapter :( I hope I’m wrong and it comes sooner than predicted but whatever
I know for some people, that’s all they want, but personally I love these little bits that reflect on the background characters. As someone who isn’t really obsessed with the background characters but also likes them enough to appreciate their development/the little moments they have, I gotta say I really liked this :)
