Another ask that involve skelly as a dad!

Its a little sad not gonna lie :(

Skelly can clearly tell that their kid now teen is in love because of the questions of "how did you and mom got together?" Stuff like that and more because tonight, their kid was charming and looking really cool with some flowers in hands

When skeleton asks why they're dressed like that they answer "im going to confess my feelings!" Even while being nervous they leave...

It was getting late and with rain when kid enters, crying and clearly wet from the rain, the flowers are messed up and they can't just stop crying until they speak "it.. it didn't work dad.. they.. they rejected me.."

Sans- When his babybones came home, soaked because of the rain and crying? He couldn't help how his soul squeezed in his chest. He was frozen for a few seconds, unsure of what to say or even do before shaking his head and went over to take care of his babybones "Hey, come on champ, don't let this rain on your parade. I know how it feels to have your soul hurtin' cause of all that, but you aren't missin' anythin'. The person doesn't seem all that good anyway" against their babybones better judgement, they let out a little chuckle at the joke mumbling that now isn't the time, but since they're the child of a Sans, they have to like puns. He tells them to go and change, then they're going to sit around, eat ice cream, and watch movies and make fun of them together. His babybones hugged him, then ran off to get changed. Sans hated the fact that his babybones was hurting, but he'd do everything in his power to make them feel better, even if it isn't much.

Papyrus- Papyrus knew that his babybones was very excited! He was as well, because his babybones who was just as great as himself, was going to get a datemate that might just be as amazing as his own! Well... no, sorry, Y/n was the best datemate anyone could ever have. When his babybones came home crying though, he couldn't help but panic running over, to ask what's going on, what happened? Then he learned that their babybones got rejected! "What?! They should not have done that! You would have been the best datemate for them!" then he pulls them into a hug, petting the top of their head to try to calm them down while they sobbed, hugging onto him their bones rattling and he coos to try to calm them down. He'd then tell them to go and change, and they could cook together! They would make whatever they wanted to make, and then uncle Sans can be a taste tester, wouldn't that be fun? When he saw his babybones smile, then nod, he gets happy himself.

Blueberry- His babybones was growing up! When he heard that his babybones was going out on a date he literally almost cried. A few tears did fall from his eye sockets, which was embarrassing for him to admit. Sadly though, when his babybones came home crying, Blueberry panics and runs over asking what happened. When he learns that the crush rejected his babybones, he almost wants to go and fight the person! How dare they do that? Yet his babybones tears was what mattered most right now. He would take their hand and drag them over to their room and sit them on their bed, allowing them to cry it out. Of course he was hugging them, as well! "I'm so sorry babybones, but I know that you know you're a great person! Anyone would be happy to have you" he presses a kiss against the top of their head "I'm so proud of you" the babybones sniffles and smiles weakly mumbling out a soft thanks which Blueberry nodded at then he told them to get a shower and change, and they could go and do stuff! Whatever his babybones wanted to do.

Stretch- The first time his babybones asked him all those questions, he quickly put it together that they had a crush, and he found it pretty adorable, to be honest. Then they went and said that they were going to confess? He was... nervous for them. What if something went wrong? He tried his best to not think like that, but he couldn't help it, and when they came home sobbing and soaked, he felt like it was his fault. "Hey hey, what's going on?" he asks, sitting up on the couch, sitting on his knees. Instead of answering his babybones hugs onto him around his neck, making him almost lose his balance; but he sighs hugging back hearing them mumble out that their crush rejected them "I'm sorry" he mumbles, giving his babybones a slight nuzzle and pulls away "hey, why don't you go change, and we'll go out to that ice cream place?" they smile weakly and nod, wiping away their tears and run off to get changed. Half of Stretch wanted to go and find that person to ask them why they turned them down, but he didn't and just went to get ready, pulling out his wallet and grabbing his card. He's sure Y/n won't mind.

Red- All the questions annoyed him, to be honest, mostly because he didn't know how to answer them. He and his babybones would often just shout and yell at each other instead of talk like normal, but that was just because that's normal for them. They both knew that the other person loved them but they never knew how to explain it or say it to each other. So picture his shock when his babybones came home with tears rolling down their cheeks and hugging onto him to hide their face into his chest. He froze up, but frowns, hugging them back; as much as he wanted to tell them to knock it off, to stop crying, he didn't. "Hey, what's goin' on? Why you huggin' me out of nowhere? Thought you said you were telling the girl ya like her and to not wait up?" he heard them let out a soft growl, which was supposed to most likely be threatening or something, and they mutter "they rejected me. Shut the h-hell up old man" Red rolls his eyes but sighs, resting his head on top of his babybones, rubbing their back slowly. Waiting until they finished crying, not caring that he got wet from their tears and how wet their clothes were. "...you'll find someone you love for real" they mutter something that he couldn't exactly understand.

Edge- Edge hated the fact that his datemate might just have a crush on someone! You know why? Because ugh! Nobody deserved his babybones and nobody was ever good enough. That's, of course, what he thinks and says because it's the truth. Yet he allowed his babybones to go and tell this ugh... human that they liked them and then, guess what happens? His babybones comes home crying! He gets so mad and grabs their shoulders "What happened?" they were able to mumble out that they got rejected but he gasped before they were done. "What?!" he pulls them into a hug "That idiotic human! How dare they reject the terrible Papyrus' babybones? Whatever, you don't need them, as I said before you are much better than they ever will be" he shakes his head while allowing them to hide their face into his chest to cry. "W-Why didn't they like me? I thought... I thought I'd have s-something like you and mom" Edge's soul squeezed when he heard that, and sighs shaking his head "It isn't that easy... you need to work up to something like that, babybones. I and Y/n were friends for... a while before we got together" he clears his throat, blushing lightly "Why don't you go and change, and I will take you out for a while?" they seemed to think, before nodding, and starts to walk off to do that. Edge was still so damn mad.

Clip- When Clip's babybones was asking about his datemate, he was so happy to share. He loved them, and often spoke about them whenever he got the chance to. Then they said that they had a crush?! He gets excited. He loves the idea of his babybones getting their own datemate, someone so sweet and kind... he wants to hear everything about them. Then... it happened. He gave them roses to give to the crush and they went off. How fun. Well when they came home crying about how they rejected him saying that why would they like someone so... gross? Of course that pissed Clip off! He could understand turning someone down if you didn't like them, but calling them gross? He makes his babybones tell him who it was, their name and everything that they know. No, he isn't going to kill them, but he is going to mess with them. He'll take care of his babybones while they're crying, rubbing their back and telling them about all the times that he got crushes on people that didn't turn out well. You don't want to piss off the child of a mafia member, come on man...

Boss- Of course he will tell his babybones about him and his datemate getting together, and will even show pictures of themselves when they were younger. It was honestly a little shocking for them to ask, but then he learned it was because they had a crush so he told them to be careful; as there's a chance that they could not be liked back but they just laughed and said that that was crazy! Who wouldn't like them? Well their crush, because after his babybones went off to tell their crush that they had a crush on them, they came home crying about how their dad, Boss, was right "T-They rejected me" he wanted to tell them that he was right, but sighed and pulled them into a hug. "it's okay... you'll find someone" he says in a soft voice, rubbing their back. He was never one to be 'soft' with people let alone people that meant well to him but this was his babybones! Of course he had to feel bad about them getting rejected, right? He's never been through that himself, but from what his brother told him it sucked. It was one reason why he never really wanted to do romance like that. He sat down his babybones, telling them that crying won't help but they could go and do things to make them feel better, whatever they wanted to do.

Ink- It was weird for Ink when his babybones kept asking about how he and his datemate got together. Like... it happened soooo long ago, how is he supposed to remember? Guess that's not a good way to say it, huh? Ughhh then they said that they got a crush?! He got so excited and of course had to go and spy. When his babybones went to confess Ink started to spy and then wow that went soooo bad! Haha oh wait they're crying and running off. He jumps out of his little spying place and catches up to them "Hey, what's going on?" he didn't care it was raining, the water pouring down onto him causing his scarf to get down to the ground. Ew. Oh oh now he's getting a hug! Fun. He hugs back listening to his babybones cry "D-Daaaaaaaaaaaadddd they rejected me" Ink nods hugging back "Oh yeah, I saw" he says "That went soooo bad, wow" he averts his eyes, blinking causing the shapes to change one of the shapes a tear shape and the other just a circle then he looks down and presses a 'kiss' against his babybones skull "you want to get ice cream?" the babybones wanted to get mad most likely about how their dad was acting like it was stupid they were upset, but sighs averting their eyes muttering just a sure. Yay ice cream. Ink thought, smiling as he starts to walk waving his hands by his sides.

Fresh- Fresh was a little shocked when he got his own datemate, and he told that to his babybones, of course. I mean, he didn't even know he could have a babybones and told them that too. He grew to feel a strange... attachment to them both and now he has to protect them ugh. So when his babybones told him that they had a crush on someone? Then was going to tell them? He didn't... like the idea of that. So he sat, staring at the door, waiting for them to come home tapping his fingers on the ground making clinking sounds each time they came in contact. When they finally got home, sobbing out that they got rejected Fresh frowns "For real? Brah that's so not radical" he stands up, pulling them into a hug. "come on, don't cry over someon' like that. Ain't all up and worth it" they just hug him back, sniffling and whimpering into his chest which made his shirt feel wet. Ew. "B-But I really liked them. They were my future datemate" Fresh makes a small huh sound, and shrugs "sorry, but they aren't. I get likin' someone but if they don't like ya, then they don't like ya. I know that's pretty brutal but it's somethin' you gotta learn to deal with, ya dig?" they sniffle and mumble "I dig" they continue to hug him though, which he didn't mind.

Nightmare- Did he have to keep the babybones? Yes, yes he did, and he, at first, hated it ugh. Kids were annoying... but hey, at least they weren't that annoying. The only downside was that they got their datemate's human emotions so they fell in love with a human. Annoying. Nightmare answered all the questions that his babybones asked him without even thinking about it but then they went and said that they were going to confess and he told them to not do anything stupid. They did something stupid. They came home crying about how they were rejected, and how the crush called them gross and ugly because of them looking slimy. He wanted to tell them to shut up with those tears but he knew that his datemate would get mad at him so he offered to send Killer to kill them? His babybones would then leave and complain about it to his datemate. Ugh... dammit. He didn't even want the damn kid! At least that's what he says at first. He'd go to check on them once he knew that they'd be asleep and would press a kiss against their forehead mumbling that he was sorry, pull up the blanket, and leave going to get them snacks and stuff. Emotions are hard.

Dream- Dream was still shocked that he could even have a babybones! He tried to protect them from everything, and honestly is way too overprotective but he does it because he just loves them, you know? When they kept asking random questions about him and his datemate, Y/n, he gets nervous. There's no way that they... have a crush, right? Then they say that they're going to confess! Oh no! He almost tried to talk them out of it but his datemate told him that it would be a good idea for them to do it! So he... didn't say anything. He regrets it now because they're coming home crying, while his datemate wasn't around. "D..Dad they rejected me a-and called me weird and... other things. What should I do?" Dream panics slightly on the inside. He isn't good at this sorta stuff! What is he supposed to say? He thinks for a little while then pulls them into a hug knowing being near him would make his babybones start to feel better, it was just part of his powers. "You aren't weird" he starts, "and if you are, it's a good weird! I'm sorry they rejected you, but that means you're going to find someone even better" they hug back, hiding their face into his chest making mumble sounds while he just pet the top of their head. They're never going to do that again.... nobody is ever going to do that to his babybones again if he can help it.

Echo- It honestly shocks him that they're asking him questions about his datemate and him getting together. It's been so long since all that, and he's still shocked that he's alive... he's shocked that he had enough magic to make a kid, he's shocked he hasn't- okay, you know, he's going to stop talking. He explains everything that they want to know. When his babybones came home, sobbing and soaked, he panics and quickly asks what happened? Hearing that they got rejected by the person that they had a crush on, it made him sad. "I'm sorry... sometimes things doesn't work out like that, but... you'll find someone, you know that, right?" seeing his babybones sniffle and whine, covering their eyes he sighs and walks over, putting his hands on their cheeks making them look at him, smiling weakly "Hey, come on, look at me, do you really think I could get someone and you can't? You're adorable" they sniffle, looking at him and he leads them to their room to change, mumbling to change out of their soaked outfit. All that sadness isn't good for them and their body most likely.

Yanberry- He kidnaps the crush. Come on, he's a yandere, of course he tries to teach his babybones to follow in his footsteps! If they really love this person, then why don't they just take them? It's what he did for his babybones, and they turned out perfect! Sure, sometimes he had to hurt them, but he did it because he LOVED them so if his babybones really LOVES this person, then why wouldn't they show it? He's teaching his babybones to follow in his footsteps, wihch is honestly not a good idea... Hey, you're the one that fell for a crazy guy >.>

1/3 A alternate scenario to the government conspiracy ask on masterlist 14. This is angsty, so respond with caution and feel free to delete this! The boys have gotten the message from SO that they should go into hiding, but before the organization can be brought to justice, SO is kidnapped on their way back home. It turns out their phone had been bugged. The criminals try to threaten the skellies into silence by holding SO's life over their heads, sending them an ominous message to prove they have them. (you can decide wether this is a video call or a severed finger, depends on how dark you're willing to go, especially with the mafias.) What happens next?

Sans: he pulls a sneaky. Don’t forget the power of sans’ poker face. He’s an amazing actor when he tries and will be a nervous “agreeable” mess when they send their threats. He promises everything as long as they show him proof that SO is safe and alive. But of course, he’s doing a recording of his own. After they send the proof, sans has their location. He’s already sent everything to undyne but isn’t waiting for her. He’s shortcutting there himself, danger be damned.

Papyrus: he half begs half demands to be taken with SO. There’s no way he’ll keep quiet. But he promises him and SO will be more compliant if they’re kept together. Papyrus hopes that the message he leaves behind for his brother will be enough after they take him..

Wine: yea someone is dying. And it’s not going to be him or SO. Wine pretends to be sufficiently cowed, but it’s not long before he finds the base. A quick pop in and out is all he needs to grab SO back. After all, the security will be too busy with the royal guard anyways. Empress has been very busy after that anonymous tip

Coffee: this is where impulsive coffee comes in. If he’s prepared, he’s great in these situations but caught by surprise hell flounder. Coffee starts growling out threats back to the organization over the video call, making things worse for his SO. He just barely reigns in his temper enough to beg forgiveness and give wine time to track the call. Nothing is stopping coffee from storming then himself not even an hour later

Snipe: technically he isn’t mafia anymore. He’s now part of the royal guard, specifically working with Asgore to track down profile criminal organizations. Yea, these guys f*cked up. Not only do they have the entire government on their butts, snipe now has complete clearance to do whatever he feels is needed, including stealing a few people to help him get SO back.

Bruiser: same as before, bruiser doesn’t stop to think, he just hangs up the call and proceeds to do his best to find and break SO out. His panic luckily catches his brothers’ attention, so now he has a few of them helping out.

one thing that I found amazing is that it wasn't love at first sight, but Kanan completely in love with Hera KAKWKSKSK's voice. he didn't even know who she was, but he was delighted nonetheless. I'm really enjoying their young version, super amazing. I think it's funny every time Kanan gets stressed about Skelly KAKSKSKKS. Hera is a queen, mistress, powerful, wonderful. now she missed them so much after the rebels s4...

It's been forever since I did one of these.

PG-13 Ninjago Pilot Season Episode 3!!!!!!

We start off with Kai walking through Four Weapons on his own, back in his old clothes. There's no one around, but he hears the hammer banging in the blacksmith shop.

Kai jogs in, excitedly calling, "Nya!"

Turns out there's no Nya there. It's Samukai, who throws a pair of knives at Kai and he gets pinned to the wall as Samukai saunters toward him, a third knife in his hand. Kai tries kicking and breaking free, but screams to know where Nya is and what Samukai did to her.

Just as Samukai goes to stab Kai, he's slapped awake.

Yeah, another dream, but it was Jay who woke up Kai, because the new kid slept in and they need to go. Mission today to get the map, so they need to haul ass.

Kai gets up and dresses, still a little drowsy, and asks about breakfast.

No breakfast.

Now that he's waking up for realsies, he has ANOTHER question: how are they getting there?

Cole barks that they're taking the carriage and tells Kai and Jay to hurry the hell up.

Kai jumps up, excitedly asking if they're REALLY taking a carriage, like RIDING IN A CARRIAGE, and Jay gives a small smile and shrug.

And we cut to the ninja pulling a carriage as Wu meditates, Cole in the front with Jay, Zane, and Kai behind him, Kai remarking that when Jay said they were taking a carriage, this was not what he was thinking at all.

Jay chuckles and admits that it at least got him out of bed, right?

Kai groans and changes the topic:

Where and how did Wu find these three?

Cole bites that if it weren't for Wu, the four of them wouldn't be caught dead together. To completely answer Kai's question, though, Wu found Cole twice before Cole decided to go with him; he'd been testing himself physically and got offered the student plan to Wu's spinjitsu academy.

Jay backs Cole's story, even though there are parts he's not saying, which he should say now that they're a team. Cole barks that Jay should focus more on pulling the carriage instead of running his mouth.

Jay groans that he's just trying to help their new brother feel welcome and explains to Kai that he was testing an invention and Wu was there when he crashed.

Before Kai can ask Zane, Wu tells him(Zane) to run and scout ahead.

Zane obeys and parkours out of the carriage, racing ahead of them.

Jay gives it to Kai up-front: they don't know where Zane came from. One day, Wu just left and came back with him. They've tried asking Zane about it, but he's had a seizure every time, and it always leaves him in terrible shape afterwards.

Kai wonders if that's what has him acting so weird, but Wu shouts for them all to stop and hide the carriage.

Kai sighs, glad to not be running anymore, but Jay shushes him as they hide the carriage and hide behind some rocks next to Zane.

In front of them are the caves of despair, having been given the name because of all the randomly falling rocks the Scythe of Quakes causes. Samukai and his army are mining for the weapon, but Wu's old man memory kicks in as he sighs that they're in the wrong spot.

Even so, the team needs to be extremely careful. Not only is the landscape easily disturbed, there are skeletons EVERYWHERE, and a dragon.

Cole's eyes widen as he echoes, "Dragon?" But there's one more thing they need to be careful of:

Kai, who's already raced ahead.

Zane drops his head onto the rock, Cole facepalms and shakes his head, and Jay remarks that that’s one way to get to the map, as he’s just rushing in head first.

New plan: Keep Kai from getting them all killed, THEN get the map and the scythe.

The ninja agree and rush out, Wu staying behind to cause a distraction for the skeletons to make their mission easier.

With Kai, he, quite poorly, sneaks around the skeletons with the rest of the ninja following with much more stealth, even taking down a guard that spots Kai.

They catch up to Kai on the tower, and Zane smacks him over the head, and contemplates kicking him off before Jay stops him and gestures for him to get the map when Samukai has his back turned.

Zane does just that, tying a rope to one of his shurikens and using it to get the map.

He hands it to Cole, who examines the map and confirms what Sensei Wu was saying. The skeletons are digging in the wrong place because they were reading the map upside down, so the weapon is actually of the other side of the caves.

Kai states that he’s on it and begins leaving, but Cole snags the back of his gi and tells him to hold his horses, unless he wants to get caught and possibly killed.

Before Kai can protest, the ground shakes, rocking everyone and everything and making the ninja fall off the tower. The rest duck for any kind of cover because it starts raining boulders and no one brought a steel umbrella. Maybe we get a visual gag of Kruncha and Nuckal hiding under the conveyer belt that was being used to mine and Nuckal is gnawing on a doughnut shaped rock he found because he doesn’t want to be turned into bone power.

The quakes stop and we return to the ninja, Cole sighing as Zane and Jay hug each other, still trembling; Jay just got some anxiety triggered and Zane has never dealt with an earthquake before.

Kai isn’t reacting because he vanished, having raced to the other side of the caves.

Cole groans and tells the two scaredy cats to keep up, though Jay groans/cries out for what Kai’s problem is because he’s always in a rush to get himself in trouble.

Speaking of Kai, we cut to him as he tries to open the stone door to the golden weapon, only stopping when he gets a rock thrown at the back of his head.

He turns around and sees Zane with another rock at the ready.

He doesn’t get a chance to throw it because Cole reminds Kai to not run off because, unless he’s forgotten, they’re a team, and whether he likes it or not he’s a part of it, so no more running off and doing things on his own.

Kai groans that he’s got it and they all get the door open.

The cavern is alight in warm gold and the ground is hella cracked and broken down, all courtesy of the Scythe of Quakes, which rests grip/handle first in the mouth of what looks like a dragon statue, one that’s covered in dirt and sand.

The ninja are all amazed, and Jay almost shouts that what he’s seeing is very cool, almost because Cole covers his mouth and shushes him before he can be heard by anyone outside.

Kai goes to grab it, but Zane pulls him back and hands him a blanket to use to grab the scythe with; these things are sometimes too powerful for mortal hands, so best to be safe than sorry.

Kai wraps the blanket around the scythe and tries to pull it out of the dragon’s mouth, but find he can’t because it’s too heavy.

Zane gives it a try and can’t either.

Jay takes a swing, calling both of them paper handed(which means they’ve never lifted anything heavy like an engine or something like that) as he tries and eats his words. Too heavy.

With a groan, because the statue looks real as hell, Cole gives it a try.

And the scythe slides out easy as a knife through cake.

Some magic energy stuff swirls around Cole and causes the ground to shake one last time, just a gentle little quiver, and then finally stop.

Cole gets down and looks down at the weapon with wide eyes, Jay asking what all of that was Cole shakes his head, but doesn’t think on it, because they need to get back to Wu.

Speaking of Wu, he's fighting a hard as he can to defend himself against a bunch of skeletons, some fighting him as their own distraction, the rest leaving to get to the caves.

The ninja all wander through the caves and wonder where the exit is, at until Cole takes the lead and starts to show them the way outside. Jay asks if he used to study caves, but Cole denies it, admitting that caves always freaked him out as a kid.

He ends up leading them back to the room the weapon was stored in and notice the statue is gone.

Kai's equal parts annoyed at being led in a circle and confused at the statue vanished, offering that it crumbled into sand.

No time for theories because they come face to face with Samukai and the rest of the skeleton army.

ACTION TIME!!

The ninja all jump into action, fighting the skeletons while defending the weapon. Despite doing well, they still get beaten., even Kai, but he's new, so it's forgiven.

Jay, however, is thrown against the wall and slumps to the ground as skeletons surround him. His vision is blurry, but he also seems flashes of blue lightning. His body recharges and he stands lokking down at his feet as he does a circle with one foot and continues to spin with the momentum.

Cole sucker punches Kruncha away, which sends him FLYING, and races over to Jay to try helping him.

No need, because we and the other ninja are Jay is spinjitsu- ing and knocking away skeletons.

The ninja are surprised, Kai asking how Jay is doing that.

Jay calls back in his spinjitsu mode that he just saw lightning and spun with it.

With one more good turn, we transition into an anime-magical girl-esque transformation fully of fun visuals of lightning spiraling up Jay's body and then shooting outward as he plants his feet into the ground. His gi turns blue and the gold emblem turns to the lightning one we see him wear in the original, the storm cloud-looking skull with lightning in place of its teeth.

The skellies back off in fear while the ninja are very impressed and shocked.

Samukai gives no damns and orders his men to kill the ninja and take the scythe.

Zane walks ahead of the ninja and agilities his way to the skellies, spinning with the snowflakes he sees.

It also transitions into Zane's transformation, where he lands back first in snow and ice covered water. We follow him in the water as he falls upside down, though the camera turns until he's right way up. The dark water becomes lighter as snow or ice whirls around him starting from his ankles to his head. He keeps rising until he breaks through ice, revealing that his gi is now white and his emblem is the same as the show version, the ice sharp/snowflake looking wolf/dragon.

Zane spinjitsus the skeletons as well, even tag teaming with Jay, who smiles and laughs while Zane smiles with his eyes.

While he holds the Scythe of Quakes, Cole and Kai struggle with the skeletons. Jay and Zane are too busy beyblading to notice, but, out of options as Kai is almost knocked unconscious, Cole takes the scythe out of the blanket and slams it into the ground handle first.

The ground shakes and cracks even more. The skeletons are blasted back and Cole's transformation happens.

The earth aroind him rises over him ant then breaks.

... Same black gi, but at least he has his earth emblem now, the earth/stone-esque stone/mask. And he has orange eyes, which are a subtle hint to his true potential. While everyone's stunned, Kai spots Samukai and charges toward him, shouting his name.

Skeleton archers shoot at Kai, but he turns, once, twice, thrice, many times, flames growing around him as his own spinjitsu begins to work.

We dive into the flames and see Kai running, literally catching fire on his gi and causing it to burn, the black turning red. His emblem to the flaming lion.

The arrows meant to pepper him do nothing and Kai gets out of his sponjitsu out with sword drawn.

Samukai, always ready for a round 2, draws his knives.

The two clash, Kai doing much better than he did in Four Weapons, this time being on the offensive while Samukai is left simply blocking him as much as he can while Kai demends to kniw where Nya is and what was done to her.

The other ninja do much better as well, Cole alternating between his normal scythe and the golden scythe, Zane getting higher jumps and better agility, and Jay going much faster than he usually does, circling around a group of skeletons and then running at and through them once he's going fast enough, to incapacitate them all.

Samukai eventually kicks Kai away and gets gets on the offensive as well, the two semi-evenly matched.

Well, at least until he looks up and behind Kai and pushes him back, slowly backing away.

The other skeletoms do the same and Samukai retreats.

Kai begins to gollow him, but Jay stops him, telling him not to worry because they got the weapon and are one step closer to saving this Nya girl.

Kai supposes so, and the team takes a breather, Cole removing his hood to breathe better and re-wrappong the scythe in the blanket, mentally patting himself on the back for not losing anyine of getting them all killed.

That relief VANISHES when he hears breathing over his a a broken skull falls on his head.

He looks up and his face drops and pales, freezing in place.

The other ninja are too bust boasting to notice, but Zane is using his thinking cap for a second.

Wasn't there supposed to be a dragon guarding the weapon.

They hear a rumble behind them, and Kai turns, telling Cole to be more careful with the scythe.

Jay follows and gasps, Zane doing the mannequin challenge and freezing in a pose.

It was not the scythe that did that, and that statue that moved wasn't a statue.

They just pissed off one of the elemental dragons.

Cole scooches back before slowly rising to his feet, weapon in his hands.

The dragon watches and growls at him even more.

Kai asks what they do and Zane stays frozen, Jay has an even better idea, one of his best ever:

"RUN! RUN LIKE HELL!!!"

The team break for the door, but the dragon is faster and smashes its head against the ground, sending them all back as the ground shakes.

Rocks fall just as they see Wu coming racing toward them, the rocks blocking them off from each other.

The Earthe dragon snarls and circles the entrance, but Cole, using his new, super slick, earth powers, leads them to a tunnel they took earlier.

The dragon gladly follows.

The team sprints away as the dragon races after them, roaring and snarling after them.

Cole looks back and continues running, even shrieking at the fact he's being chased by a real living dragon.

Zane, Jay, and Kai are all panicked as well, Zane screaming, Jay babbling and making random noises, and Kai shouting.

We get a gag of Cole rounding a corner, still shrieking and hilding the golden scythe, followed by Zane, who we hear really use his voice for the first time as he screams/howls, Jay right behind him as he shouts, sorry if this is hard to read for everyone, "WHYISTHEREADRAGON!?SENSEINEVERSAIDANYTHNGABOUTADRAGONSOWHYISTHEREADRAGONINEVERSIGNEDUPFORTHISTHISISNOTOKAYWHATTHEHELLISGOINGONWHYISTHISHAPPENINGIAMNITOKAYWITHTHIS!!!!!!!!!" and Kai finishes the train as he screams and scrambles after them all, shouting for them to wait up.

The dragon rounds the corner as well, shaking the ground as it runs.

They eventually find their way to an exist and leave the caves, though the dragon still follows them out.

Kai, thinking quickly, takes the scythe from Cole and smashes it blade first into the ground, much to everyone's objections.

It shakes the ground and Kai enough to make the dragon retreat and avalanche of rocks to occur(a rock slide?). The ninja are still for a minute before screaming and leaving again, spinjitsu-ing away until they're back near the carriage.

They look back at the carnage and let themselves breathe for real, congratulating each other on a job well done.

That's when they see Wu scowling at them, and he asks what they were thinking.

Kai tries to salvage this operation and shows that they got the scythe.

Wu's glad for that, but they still USED the weapon and almost got themselves killed, expressing disappointment in both Kai and Cole for not thinking before acting.

Cole takes it, because you don't talk back to Sensei Wu, but Kai still defends himself in saying they were surrounded by skeletons and needed a way out, and they got the weapon, so he shouldn't be complaining.

Wu spells it out for them: if they just took the weapon and left, everything would've been fine, but since they used the weapon, they attracted the attention of the dragon, which has been known to attack on sight.

Wu drops ot and commends them for a job well done, upon seeing the weapon for himself, seeing they learned spinjitsu and seeing the map Zane nabbed, and tells the ninja they'll head back to the monastery after a little bit of rest.

The ninja agree, save for Kai, who's staring in disbelief and confusion as Wu pulls Cole aside, the earth ninja explaining what happened in the caves.

Jay walks up to Kai and pats him on the shoulder, advising that Kai really shouldn't talk back to Wu, because the guy could very easily kill him, if he really wanted.

Kai asks how a cool guy like Jay is here with a teacher's pet like Cole and... Zane, who's saying, 'fuck my safety and wellbeing,' and walking and climbing on the rocks that crashed down and almkst killed them all.

Jay shrugs and admits it's something you get used to, but it's worth the time.

Kai politely doibts it and just hopes he can save his sister.

Jay perks up at this, asking if she has a boyfriend, if she likes blue, all that jazz.

Kai grabs him by the collar and pulls him close, growling at him to back off.

Cole pulls Kai off of him, just on time, too, because Zane was sprinting over to dropkick Kai, and warns that they can't be tearing at each other, not when the other three weapons need to be found.

Kai concedes, but adds one more thing they all need to understand:

He'll stay, but only until those weapons and Nya are found. After that, he's gone.

Cole, already done with him, snarls, "Good."

Wu calls them all over and they huddle around the map as Wu informs them that the next weapons are the shurikens of ice, and they're close, but they need a boat and supplies, and need to return to the monastery.

The team agree, and ready themselves with the carriage, Cole and Kai glaring at each other before they leave.

The episode ends with the ninja running to returning to the monastery.

- Ah yes, the sly musician. The moment he fell for you he knew just how to win over your heart. The more you visited the bar he played in, the more he actually showed up as well.

- Finding out his ultimate crush was also his fan was a whole roller coaster. His eyes lit up like stars and his grin somehow widened. Had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming. Then he realised he doesn't have skin and can't pinch himself. Cue the panic attack.

- He of course was going to confess through a love song, but the moment he strung a single tone on his guitarron, the bar went up in flames. Barley just had to lose his marbles at that very day.

- He saw you were in shock, much like himself, so he offered to take you to Bull's diner for a drink instead. There you talked and talked until the night arrived.

- He was very hesitant about letting you go home without him at least walking by your side, he already felt as if he was your boyfriend.

- One day you two were hanging out and you took his sombrero, placing it on your own head. You did a little imitation of him, strumming at his instrument as if the sound it was producing wasn't making your ears bleed. God, you sucked at playing it, but Poco didn't mind. He was too lovestruck to notice.

- "Look at me, I'm Poco, I get all the hotties with my music," you said in a high pitched and nasally voice. He laughed, scratching the back on his neck with a slight blush tugging at his cheeks.

- "But even with that sort of power, I can't tell poor Y/N how much I love them!" you put your hand on your forehead and leaned backwards, closing your eyes. The dramatic pose distracted Poco for a second, before he realised what you had just said.

- He went completely frozen and his face got so red you swore you began to wonder what kind of skeleton he is.

- "H-How long have you known..." he asked, voice trembling.

- You took his hat off your head, putting it back on his and placing a small kiss on his bony cheek. "Since the beginning, stupid."

- Every since you two started dating his true colours began to show. He was really touchy and a bit clingy even, like a cute little puppy pulling on your sleeve.

- He is in fact a skeleton, he weighs practically nothing, so if you don't give him at least one piggy back ride he will be insulted. What do you mean you're not gonna carry him to the stage and pronounce your love for him in front of everyone? Why not??

- He's all about PDA. Loves holding your hand or stealing kisses from you in public.

- Lift him up to show him you love him. Please. He's such a little sweetheart. Even if it means getting crushed by you, he wants to feel your arms around him. The more hugs the happier the skelly.

- He can get a bit insecure about the said fact, though. Sometimes he'll look at other people and think you're better off with someone who's not just bones for christ's sake. Just shower him with kisses and let him know you love him, and he'll be full with confidence again as if nothing even happened.

- He's always at your tail during matches, trying to heal you even when you're missing only 1% of your health. You're his top priority and he can go ballistic if he sees someone send you straight back to the respawn point.

- Expect a lot of serenades under your window/balcony. Seriously, he will not shut up.

- What do you mean sneaking out of the house you both share in the middle of the night just to serenade you under your window is silly. No it's not. Please don't start hiding the house keys. It's not like that will stop him, but climbing out of the windows on a second floor is a tad bit dangerous if you ask me.

- Naturally, he tries winning you over by showing off his "impressive" skills, but most importantly; muscles.

- "Y/N, this one's for you!" he yells as he absolutely demolishes his opponent.

- He's very straight forward with his admiration for you, but the words "I love you" seem to be stuck on the tip of his tongue harder than he thinks.

- He's known for his confidence and victories, so why is it so hard to win you over? Are you ignoring him on purpose? Do you not notice him? Is he not good enough?? Thoughts like those find themselves in his head for the first time in a long LONG time. Your smile upsets the butterflies in his stomach as much as the destructive thoughts in his head.

- When he was a kid, he struggled with his self image, but being a victorious wrestler gave him a lot of confidence and made him the man he is today.

- So naturally, he mistook your shy nature with disinterest in him as a person completely. And that kind of broke him. Meanwhile you were the one who thought he'd never like someone like you. You didn't consider yourself worthy enough for such a "winner" like himself. The more you bothered yourself with those thoughts the more his own insecurities ate at him. It wasn't your fault, but sometimes he wished he didn't feel this way towards you.

- You found him one evening at the bar, his head in his hands, beer bottles in front of him. You saw they were all completely empty except the one he was still working on. You instantly grew worried, pushing away all thoughts that came racing to your head.

- You approached him slowly and gently, placing your hand on his shoulder. His head shot up and he looked surprised to see you. He was beyond embarrassed to let you see him like this, he done messed up now.

- But instead of practically spitting on him as he expected, you swung his arm around your shoulder, trying to help him up. He stood up, his legs shaking a bit. Tears began to form in his eyes, eventually letting them fall down his cheeks, only to be wiped away by your gentle hand. He knew then and there, he was wrong about the way you envisioned him. He was filled with regret, shame and relief, all at the same time. You helped him to his apartment that day, staying over for the night, spending it cuddled up with him on the spacey couch.

- Meanwhile Barley let out a relieved sigh, seeing he wont need to help the poor man home ever again.

- From that day on, you two were inseparable, your love was peaches and cream, cherry on top of the cake. You had never seen him this happy, he practically beamed with happiness. You found your smaller hand in his large one more than you'd expect, he even picked you up and held you close to him subconsciously at this point.

- He has night terrors, so having someone to finally hold him during those frightening moments is amazing.

- All he wants to be is a stay at home husband in the end, baking you cakes and all sorts of muffins, his "Kiss the cook" apron almost never getting washed from how frequently he simply needs to make something for his beloved Y/N.

- Believe or not, he has the softest singing voice ever. He'll sing to you in his language although rarely, call you all sorts of nicknames as well.

- He's your personal body guard during matches, nobody's touching you. Ever.

Ok ok here me out. So what if I’m the dragon au sans is invited to a ball. His lazy butt would rather nap with his big dragon skellie . But atlas his father is gently pushing him to find a prince. Dragon red feels jealous and possessive over sans but knows he’s not. A Prince Charming. He knows he’s not handsome, charming or princely. So maybe he finds a spell or potion that turns him normal and tries to impress sans at the ball ? I don’t know. Any ideas a what’s gonna happen next ?

Ok lemme just share a tiny silly thing with you noony cause this idea made me so happy X3

Let’s say Sans is lazing about under tree, napping (like in the pic the amazing @fuzzyzzz drew X3), while Red is off doing something (hunting or just dragon things). They don’t really expect any trouble cause I mean... who would mess with a dragon, right? And by then Red and Sans earned a reputation amongst the knights and princess to better leave them alone >;3

But one person is not ready to give up. Sans’ father, the king, Gaster >.>

He decides enough is enough. His wayward son was supposed to be “trapped” in the tower with that horrible excuse for a dragon (yes I wanna hit him for this too >:|) only for a short time. A worthy prince or knight was supposed to save him and marry him so Gaster doesn’t have to worry about a successor. He did have another son, but that one was just too kind and innocent for king work.

So king Gaster was determined to have Sans succeed after he marries.

And yet it just didn’t happen. That blasted nuisance of a dragon somehow kept chasing off all the princes and knights, and running Gaster’s well set plans (what he didn’t know is that Sans was the one helping Red chase them all of XD). Deciding enough was enough, it was time to change tactics, plan B so to say.

A ball.

If no one was worthy to “save” Sans, then he would be the one to choose the appropriate one at a ball. And Sans will have to be there, he had no choice. After all, Gaster wasn’t a horribly cruel man. He wanted to choose someone that would fit Sans at least a little, though that silly love thing that these kids were spouting about didn’t really matter. He will find Sans a comfortable enough spouse and that will be it.

Now he just had to get that wayward princess home.

So as Sans was lazing around, napping away, unattended, some knights kidnapped him and silenced him before he could call for Red. He was roughly carried home where his father, the king, made certain Sans knew what will happen. When Sans protested and tried to explain that he was in love with the dragon that kept saving him, Gaster had him locked up in a tower, with Sans’ magic locked so he couldn’t run ;^;

I don’t have to explain how pissed Red was when he didn’t find Sans! He tore down everything around the tower Sans was “trapped” in and searched and yelled for Sans for hours. When his stamina finally depleted, he crumpled to the ground absolutely furious but unable to do anything. Somehow, he managed to pull himself together and decided to search away from that place. Thankfully, in his rage he broke the magic that bound him to the tower (though it hurt... a lot >.>).

He quickly found some old friends that helped him find clues on where his princess could be. A ball. A fuckin’ ball??? He was ready to storm that bastard’s castle and take his tiny princess back! But one of his friends stopped him cause raiding the castle would lead to certain death. Red would have to be smart about this. He needed to get Sans without a fight. So... why not go to the ball and win his little princesses hand in marriage? >:3c

Red very reluctantly agreed.

He didn’t know what kind of fire power this damn king Gaster had and he didn’t want to risk Sans getting hurt. So he accepted. But he had to look less... murder dragon for the plan to work. A favor from a witch and he got a potion that turned him “human”, or well less “big murder beast” and more “respectable monster” sized XD

But dear reader, there is one thing the potion couldn’t really change. It might have made Red look like a handsome knight or prince. Made his scary looks soften up and give him that strong but not terrifying appearance (he still had horns and a tail, though smaller, but his wings were gone). But the outside does not change the inside, you know? The dragon was still lurking inside that smaller, still powerful, frame. It’s hard to hide one’s nature after all >:3c

The ball came.

Everyone who was anyone came. The palace was overflowing with noble knits, princes from different countries, noblemen ready to show their best. To get the hand of the princess. And to become the next king besides Sans.

Sans was suffocating. It was horrible. He was stuck in an extremely frilly dress that made it almost impossible to move (part of Gaster’s plan to make it harder for Sans to run) and there was nothing he could do. He could barely pass trough a doorway for freaking sake! His mood was sour and it showed. Everyone he was introduced to him were ignored or scoffed at. Gaster even had to threaten Sans that he better stop it if he doesn’t want to cause an international incident.

So he toned it down but still didn’t pay attention to anyone. What was he use anyway, when his father wouldn’t listen? He had to get away. That was the only way he could avoid this miserable fate. He was sure Red would keep him safe once they were reunited. And he’d never let Sans be kidnapped again. Sans just had to get to Red, cause he knew Red was bound to that tower he was in. So Sans had to do his best and run.

While pondering how he would escape, Sans was walking around the big ballroom, trying to escape the different suitors. His plan was (mostly) working. Anyone who got in his way was ignored with an excuse that he was going to see someone else, or going to get some food at the buffet or whatever, just so he could run.

In his rush to run from an especially clingy noble, he wasn’t paying attention in front of him and he run into someone. With an umph Sans was knocked down on his boney butt, the dress piling up around him, practically burying him under the frills and layers. With a desperate struggle he tried to get out of the pile, but it was hopeless. Suddenly, there was a strong hand grabbing his (very gently) and pulling him up, like he weighed nothing. He quickly found his balance and flattened out his dress, making it possible to stand again.

With a deep breath to steel himself cause he knew he couldn’t get away from this one after they helped him, Sans looked up with a thank you on his teeth, then froze. There was a skeleton monster in front of him but all he could see was teeth. Big and sharp teeth smiling down at him. The monster in front was big, at least double Sans’ height. The size didn’t really scare Sans, he was used to Red’s size and this monster wasn’t nearly as big. But something in the monster’s eyelights and the way his teeth curled made Sans pause. He looked... familiar.

He snapped out of his surprise and thanked the monster. The other didn’t say anything just blushed and nodded. There was something... strange about him. He was wearing a suit that didn’t fit him right, as if it was rushed. It was expensive looking, like the rest of the guests were wearing, but the monster looked extremely uncomfortable in it. Sans could even see him pulling at the collar when he thought Sans wasn’t looking. Weird.

He was intrigued. And since he couldn’t run right now he could see why this monster made his soul pulse in a weird way. So he took the offered hand and followed the monster to the side. They stood there in silence a bit, it was as if the monster wouldn’t or couldn’t talk (he couldn’t, that’s one of the side effects of the potion... where would the fun be if there weren’t any consequences >;3).

Sans noticed the big monster eyeing the buffet, a little drool escaping between those sharp teeth and with a chuckle, he dragged the monster to the food-ladden tables. With a red blush, the big monster looked at Sans like he was waiting for permission. Sans gave him a smile and a nod and all hell broke lose!

The big monster ate like he hadn’t seen food in ages, stuffing himself and making a scene. Sans could see his father frowning disapprovingly and he couldn’t help but laugh. When Gaster started storming towards them, Sans grabbed the monsters hand and ran! As much as he could in that blasted getup. The big monster was startled at first, not understanding what was going on, but when he noticed the angry king nearing them he quickly lifted Sans into his arms, making the dress crumple, and ran as fast as his long legs could carry him.

They ran through the crowd at full speed, knocking monsters left and right, outrage and curses following their steps. Until they burst onto a balcony. Thankfully it was empty. The big monster quickly shut the door and pulled a big stone vase to block it. Sans wasn’t sure how he even moved it, it was huge! Yet the monster did it with one hand.

With a raised bonebrow, Sans gave the big monster a closer look. With a gentle phalanges, Sans traced the scars on the monsters skull, being very careful not to hurt. He pet over the horns and scratched the base like he would do to Red. He didn’t know what made him do that, but it felt right. When the big monster started purring and nuzzling into Sans’ hand, he was startled. And when he saw a tail with a specific tip wagging behind the monster his eyelights practically turned into stars.

“red?” Sans whispered, almost unheard.

But the big monster heard it and he smiled, giving a sharp nod and a wink. Sans squealed let out a happy sound and hugged Red’s neck, almost strangling the bigger monster. He started showering Red with questions about how he got there, how does he look like that, why he didn’t say anything. Red shook his head and held Sans a bit closer, to make sure he was comfortable. He used his free hand to show that he couldn’t talk.

Sans’ face morphed into a worried frown. He was worried Red would stay like that, that Red sacrificed his voice forever just to save Sans. But Red quickly stopped that. He took Sans’ chin in his hands, and made the little monster focus on him. He shook his head, trying to explain that it wasn’t permanent. Sans, being a smart skelly, understood and asked how to undo it then? Red... blushed. Hard. And looked to the side. Sans was confused at first, but the way Red was acting and memories of old stories made the gears in head turn. Then he blushed right along Red.

“a kiss.” He concluded. Red snapped his head back, blushing even harder. But he gave a small nod, confirming Sans’ words.

Suddenly, the doors to the balcony started rattling. They were found! The guards were trying to bust onto the balcony and, knowing king Gaster, separate them. Quickly, Sans grabbed both sides of Red’s face, squishing his cheeks a bit (Sans would have giggled at this if the situation wasn’t urgent). They stared at each other and both saw the consent in each others eyelights.

With a gentle hand, careful with his claws, Red pulled Sans closer until their teeth met, sockets closing. A surge of magic spark between their teeth, spreading and engulfing Red’s whole body. With a ripping sound, the fancy clothes were torn to shreds as Red’s body grew bigger, into his full dragon form.

Just as the glow was subsiding, the door broke and the guards rushed out. But they were met with a fearsome roar that knocked them all on their asses. Red stood up on his hind legs and spread his wings, still holding Sans in one of his front paws, and glaring down at the knights.

With a curse at their incompetence, the king made his way between the knights, only to stop in front of the dragon and glare at him. With a authoritative voice he demanded that Red release Sans, but Red just glared back not moving at all.

Instead, Sans yelled down to his father that he won’t be coming home again. With a tap to Red’s ribs he looked up and nodded at the big monster. Red looked at him, held him closer to his ribs, making sure Sans is safe, and used his powerful hind legs to jump up, flapping his wings hard to lift into the air.

The king could only watch impotently as his son eloped with a dragon.

What a wild run! First time I beat EM4 Hades. Also my first clear at heat 16 (previous best: 10). Getting that second Skelly trinket!

Note the finish time (36:04:64) and the tight deadline timer (00:00:00). 😱 70 health and no death defiances remaining. I was in a total panic!

I was reluctant to take Trippy Shot for cast, but I’m glad I did. Ice Wine is powerful! Never had it before but it’s amazing!

Pact conditions:

Non-overlapping enemy-affecting: EM4, middle management, jury summons (13 heat)

Other: tight deadline, underworld customs (3 heat)

Gameplay adjustments:

Prioritized getting boons, took trial of the gods when offered (would normally skip) (though this came back to bite me with the tight deadline) so that I’d have some flexibility when purging boons

Didn’t bother with dodging during final fight, and instead focused on getting the damage in before tight deadline killed me!

Dream -He’s more than happy to help out. He does more than his fair share of work on it and it turns out fantastically. He’s whole deal is making good things happen to people so he might even use some of his power to make sure that the day goes off without a hitch.

Nightmare -He tries to help but he’s really nervous about the whole thing. He will double check everything and run them by you so really you are still doing most of the work. He just doesn’t want to ruin the kids day but also wants to make it special.

Ink -That kid would have an amazing birthday party if you let Ink anywhere near it. It’s bright and colourful and very creative. If the kid is into something then that will become the theme. He basically takes over the entire thing and it is incredible. A party that will go down in legend.

Error -He tries to help for about a minute before getting mad and giving up. It’s probably for the best as he will have no idea what he’s doing. At the back of his skull he’s worried about ruining the kids day and he doesn’t want to take that chance.

If each skelly were to become a teacher, what subject would they teach? If you may, what subject would the humans teach as well?

I’m leaving the humans out of this, since they’d be working at the embassy doing ambassador work in this scenario. Yes, even Kris - he’s the janitor + snack guy.

Sans - Math. He wanted to teach Science, but someone took that spot from him, and yes, he is a little bitter about it. But the system needed a math teacher, and he is good at actually explaining what he’s teaching well instead of expecting his students to automatically understand everything that’s coming out of his mouth.

Papyrus - Cheerleading coach. No, really. He’s the best coach they’ve ever had, the team unanimously agrees. He’s just... amazing at coordinating routines and dances, and it’s impossible not to feel pepped up when you’re around him.

Red - Auto Mechanic. He likes taking things apart and putting them back together, and it turns out that cars have to have that done to them a lot! The female students adore him because he treats them with respect and makes the guys in class that don’t outside do the same.

Edge - History. He’s that one special teacher that hides nothing from his students about what exactly happened in the past, sparing no gruesome details. He teaches the truth, and his students actually love him for it.

Blueberry - Gym! He’s a hyperactive ball of energy, but he’s also a pretty gentle coach when it comes to his students. He’s all about progress and reaching new heights, however he understands that everyone has limits and treats them with respect - he screams and yells a lot, but it’s all words of encouragement.

Stretch - Art. He’s a bit of an artist himself, so he was perfect for the position. He’s extremely encouraging to all of his students, no matter what medium it is they excel in. He just wants everyone to have fun and make a mess doing it.

Black - Finance. This monster man was one of the wealthiest and most successful residents of the Underground, and for good reason. He tells his students all about how to make smart financial choices and how to avoid even the most discreet scammers. He’s a literal lifesaver to many.

Rus - Literature. Rus didn’t have anyone to talk to in the Underground aside from his brother before they were freed, so he spent a lot of his time reading. The gentle romantic pieces, like poetry, are his favorites; since he’s so softhearted. The tragedies always make him cry.

G - Geography. The first thing he did when he made it to the surface was explore as much of it as he could, using his ‘shortcut’ powers to do so. His class has field trips often this way because he believes hands-on experience is the best way to learn, so he’s a favorite among the students.

Green - Home Economics. He is a domestic god, and now he’s going to share all of his knowledge of cooking, sewing, and all things house husband with the masses. He turns the boys into real men, not with rage, but with tenderness.

Gaster - Science, of course! Chemistry, Biology, Geology, and all things science, he teaches them all! This means he has multiple classes to teach, but somehow he manages, even if he has to merge them. Doctor W.D. Gaster is massively respected, largely beloved, and moderately feared among the student body.

Like an so that can change shape into practically any animal (not even an existing animal, basically any creature that they can envision in their imagination?) (they have a default shape, and it’s the one the skellies first met them in, this is them just now finding this out and how they treat this strange and unique ability after the fact)

If SO was hiding this, then most of the answers would be negative, but if SO just wanted to tell them then you’ll get this:

Sans: he is extremely interested. Especially about the limitations of this. How big or small can your body go before it becomes uncomfortable? Could you potentially change internal bits like gaining gills? Do you become faster/stronger/more flexible with each form? You basically get to see his eyes light up into rare stars as he geeks out about your powers

The Nevers Star Laura Donnelly Answers Burning Finale Questions

The following contains major spoilers for The Nevers episode 6.

The star of HBO sci-fi series The Nevers has never shied away from the fact that the show’s sixth episode would be a big one.

“Six is an extraordinary episode,” Donnelly (who plays Amalia True) told Den of Geek prior to the series premiere. “It provides a lot of the answers to the questions that the audience might have. It seemed like a very natural cut-off point.”

Whether episode 6, titled “True”, is a natural cut-off point remains to be seen. Due to the coronavirus pandemic suspending production, the show’s initial 10-episode first season order was shortened to six and “Part 2” (containing six more episodes for a total of 12) is set to arrive at a later date. It’s hard to argue though that episode 6 is anything but extraordinary.

How HBO’s The Nevers Explores a Very Different Vision of Victorian Girl Power

“True” doesn’t merely provide some answers to long-running Nevers questions – it basically upends the premise of the entire show. It turns out that creator Joss Whedon’s initial vision for The Nevers wasn’t merely Victorian ladies with supernatural powers, but that of a much larger story about the human race on the edge of collapse and a dimension-hopping alien species intent on helping us.

Whedon departed the project during the production delay so when the show returns it will be up to new showrunner Philippa Goslett to shepherd this bold new vision. To get ready for that, Den of Geek spoke with Donnelly about the many revelations of episode 6 and what the future of The Nevers entails.

This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

Den of Geek: I participated in the press day interviews before the season premiered. Now I’m wondering what was that press day experience like on your end? People ask you “So what’s your show about? What’s going on?” And then you just kind of have to sit back and lie!

Laura Donnelly: It’s the most frustrating thing ever. I wanted to go into some details but honestly it felt like I could say nothing without unraveling an entire six-episode arc. People would ask me “How did you research to get into the role?” I can’t say that I researched what it might be like to train in the army, what combat would be like with PTSD, things like that. So I’m left going, “Oh, I just read some books on what it’s like in Victorian times.” It made me sound like a really lame researcher.

You mentioned back in those pre-air interviews that when you first had the meeting for this show, Joss gave you kind of the “whole picture.” Was this episode what that meeting was referring to? And what was your reaction like when you first heard it all?

Well, it was obviously then that I realized I was not dealing with Victorian X-Men. (That meeting) introduced the idea of having an entire backstory of somebody who has been through so much and then gets thrown into this situation and has to deal with it. I just knew that that was going to be such a deep dive into this character and that there was going to be so much to be able to explore with it. Then it was bringing in the elements of how the show is relevant to today, not just in an allegorical sense, but literally – how they are trying to go back in time to make sure that humans do better.

I couldn’t believe that a mind or a show could hold that much. And I knew that I had to be a part of it. What blew me away about (episode) six was that I didn’t know the details, how the story would be told and everything. Now I just can’t believe that with this single hour of television, they managed to tell all of these separate stories with such beauty and nuance. And not just with a ton of exposition, but instead, showing these things in the most clear way possible and that you find out so much in such a short period of time.

Definitely. The first chapter in this episode is really filled with futuristic sci-fi jargon and there is very, very little expository dialogue. Maybe this is a non-sequitur, but have you ever seen the movie Primer? It kind of reminded me of that in that sense.

No.

It’s a time travel movie made by Shane Carruth a while back (Editor’s Note: 2004). And all of the dialogue is just complete jargon that only an expert in theoretical physics would understand for basically the whole runtime, but the audience is still able to pick up what’s happening for the most part. This episode just reminded me of that.

Yeah. I love it for that. I love it for the fact that it rewards intensive viewing. It’s not the show that you can watch while you’re scrolling on your phone. If you are willing to just buy into that, you realize that on first watch you get the important information: the Galanthi are an alien race that are here to help humanity from itself, and that Stripe is Amalia. Then everything after that the more passion you bring to watching it, the more you get out of it.

I finished my first re-watch right before this interview and I think I finally understand just now how and why Stripe got sent back in time by the Galanthi. Because things are too far gone now. The Galanthi are finally going to really help and their version of really helping is just “We’ve got to go back. Humanity needs a fresh start.”

Yeah! I loved that there were things that I realized from watching it that I hadn’t picked up in the reading of the script. When they suddenly realize that the portal is an exit one and not an entrance one, that makes Knitter (Ellora Torchia) in that moment lose all hope. But what you come to realize is that that is not a moment of despair actually. You realize that the reason that they had an exit portal was because they had a plan and they weren’t coming back. You see that with the Victorian artifacts in the room. In fact, this plan was brought together with the scientists. They were working on that together. That was only something that I caught from watching it.

What was it like watching Claudia Black play your character?

I thought she did a really, really beautiful job. It was strange for me because I wanted them to shoot that before I shot my Stripe stuff, so that I would have a lot more to go on to replicate when I first land in the asylum. But it just couldn’t work out that way and they had to shoot all of Claudia and the future stuff after I’d already shot in the asylum. I went in and watched a lot of their rehearsals and got some video footage of their rehearsals and stuff so I had a good idea of what it was that she was doing with that, but it was just amazing to watch the whole thing put together. It’s like the final piece of a puzzle that I didn’t even have any say in. I was just kind of glad really that it matched up to what I had in my head, because I’d been having to make a lot of guesses when it came to playing Stripe in the asylum.

It occurs to me now that for five episodes you’ve been playing a woman with a North American accent doing an old-timey Victorian British accent. What was that process like?

It allowed a little freedom actually because, on her part, it’s a learned accent. I didn’t have to be hugely strict about the rules of what would be particularly Victorian. I allowed myself to bring a little more modernity to how she would phrase something. I kind of hoped that people would pick up on the idea that Amalia seemed, in some indistinguishable way, slightly anachronistic. I also then kind of hoped that there would even be the odd person going, “Oh, well her accent’s slipped there, she got it wrong there” or whatever, because I kind of felt once you then see episode six, they’d see why.

When you think of the character in your head, what name comes to mind first: Molly, Zephyr, Amalia, or Stripe?

Amalia, actually, but the second one that would come would be Stripe. It’s funny, “Zephyr” is the last one I think of and I think that that is probably true of Amalia as well in that it is so far pushed down. It is so far into her past for so many different reasons. It would be too painful to have all of the implications that the Zephyr name carries in the forefront of her mind. In her soldier way of being, she just needs to constantly move forward.

Again, back before the season premiered when I spoke to you and Ann (Skelly), my first question was about characters’ names and how they were a little odd. Perhaps that was a bit prescient because in the far flung future names are sacred. What was your impression of that concept and why do you think names have become sacred?

I wonder if it’s just the idea that it’s the only little bit of recognizable humanity left for them. I think that people will always find a way of making something sacred. You need what is sacred to you at times when things are most difficult. You’re looking at a human race that doesn’t even have real food. Everything is engineered and they can’t even breathe the air outside. The sacred can be very important in moments of deep, deep despair like that. A name is something that everybody can have, and a name is something that everybody can therefore keep for themselves.

At the same time, it also speaks to the idea that everybody then is involved in that war on one side or the other. It doesn’t seem to me that you’ve got the army and then you’ve got citizens. It seems to me like everybody at that point in humanity as they’re coming towards the end is on one side or the other and is fighting. That means that everybody is being called by their rank, and so Stripe is known as Stripe That also makes a name more sacred because it’s the part of you that isn’t involved in this war. It’s the last vestige of true humanity that you might have left.

Any updates on the production process for part 2? I believe last time you had yet to see any scripts.

I’ve had lots of conversations with (new showrunner) Philippa Goslett and with Ilene (Landress), our producer but I have as yet not read a script. I’m just waiting, but I’m in prep. I know enough about the next couple of episodes to know what fights I need to learn and things like that.

I cannot imagine being in Philippa’s shoes right now. Showrunner changes happen all the time but this is one of the more unusual narrative circumstances to fall into, I think.

Absolutely. I mean, the show is wild, but I think that, whatever else happened, we were so fortunate that episode six became this very natural break point in the story for obvious reasons. So much has been wrapped up. I feel like the world is built and the characters are established, you know. It really could go pretty much anywhere from here and it just needs somebody’s brilliant imagination to do that.

Now that the real plot behind the curtain was revealed, does the name “The Nevers” have any more added significance?

Not that I’m aware of, no. I think the only thing that I have to go on about the name is something that Joss said several years back about the idea that these people never should have existed. They’re anomalies or even the more pejorative term – abominations.

Do you think future seasons and storylines of the show will take things past Victorian England and inch closer to that dystopian present?

I mean, I would love for it to. It makes sense to me that it started in Victorian times because that was a key moment of change in so many different ways in how the world communicates. There are kind of several revolutions going on at once, technological being one of the main ones. But it would be really interesting then to see how that progresses, and the issues at hand get dealt with, depending on the social aspects of different countries or different decades. The key to all of that is can you find a really cool way of doing it? Because my head isn’t able to come up with that. Whatever keeps the storyline the most interesting, keeps the characters true to themselves, and doesn’t jump the shark, I’m well up for.
