I truly just cannot get Zerxus Ilerez off my mind. Oath of Redemption paladin who will throw away everything for the chance to redeem Satan, but doesn’t hesitate to smite “traitors” into the dust and says nothing when his best friend murders prisoners who have surrendered. Who saw his friends bleeding out and knew he could help them, but turned away and went to pull the Lord of the Hells into the world instead, not even out of pity but out of desire for “answers”. Who lives in a world of teleportation circles and still didn’t visit his traumatized young son for seven years. Who asked to have his memory wiped rather than live with the understanding of failure. Character of all fucking time.

Guys, some of the comments on that porn addiction ask sound like run of the mill fundies, but others sound like they just don't know what the concept actually is. People who push the porn addiction agenda and sell "therapy" for it aren't talking about a maladaptive coping mechanism, they're talking about an (imaginary) *addiction*.

The concept that pornography is dangerously addictive is rooted in other likes from straight, culturally Christian society; namely, that men are incapable of controlling their sexual urges, that women do not experience sexual pleasure (or at least not as much as men do), and that something pleasureable must have "redeeming qualities" or else it is inherently sinful ("sin" is rebranded as secular morality or as mental health when it escapes containment).

A lot of the rhetoric is sex shaming shit you might recognise in it's repackaged form when antis spout it.

It is also incredibly gender essentialist, and ignores the existence of both homosexuality and transgender identities. Except, of course, when someone wants to pathologize these identities as being caused by or being symptoms of porn addictions. You're not a trans woman, you're a straight cis man who was harmed by looking at pictures of naked people! If you just accept that you have an addiction, you can come to Jesus and turn back into a normal healthy man again!

"Porn addiction" is also a convenient lie for keeping sex education away from young people. If porn is inherently dangerous, and depictions of "alternative" sexuality are inherently pornographic, then of course you can't let a 16 year old know that gay sex exists! He'll get addicted and currupted by Satan and next thing you know your perfect Christian son is a faggot tranny freak!

Stealing traits from Daeron and destroying Aegon's character completely, all of these things have made me dislike Aemond so much. Someone remind these writers that Aemond is not the only character in team green.

I’m not gonna lie, I used to love Aemond but after reading the books it made jaded about his character. Aegon is fascinating and actually has a character arc in the books, he’s the only one that redeems himself IMO.

I wouldn’t mind Aemond’s characterisation if it wasn’t at the expense of Aegon’s, I was on Reddit and someone said that in the show Aegon isn’t a character he’s a problem that everyone has to deal with.

Alicent has to deal with the fact that Aegon hurt someone, Otto has to deal with the fact that Aegon isn’t interested in being King at all and Aemond (for some reason) has to deal with the fact that Aegon is “unworthy” (see what they’re doing?) of being the firstborn son.

Aegon was a great fighter because he also trained with Ser Criston, but only Aemond is allowed to have a fighting scene and be badass. Aegon has a mystical bond with Sunfyre, he actually fights for Aegon until the bitter end, but only Aemond is allowed to have scenes with his dragon.

Aegon would never bully his brother, especially with the Strong boys, whom ALL of them hated, but no, Aemond is the bullied meow meow, his brother is a meanie and has to bully the poor Aemond because Aegon is rotten, didn’t you know?

In the books, when Viserys asks where Aemond heard the bastards rumours you can infer that the brothers are close and that Aegon will always be there for him and he was. In the show, to the general audience it was only Aemond taking revenge for the bullying.

In the books, Aegon never took his brother anywhere but in the show, he takes Aemond to brothel for some reason and traumatised Aemond. Why? Because Aegon is rotten, he has no redeeming qualities and Aemond is the poor meow meow.

When Viserys is dead, Aemond was actually training and what the first thing he says to the Kingsguard?

“Is Aegon King?”

In the show? Apparently he’s the one that should be King because he reads and has Vhagar? Apparently Aegon never touched a sword, only Aemond.

Even his brother being the spawn of Satan, he still goes out to find him, isn’t Aemond just the best? He’s so dutiful and loyal. Even though he hates Aegon and wished that he was far away, and Aegon wanted that too. Or Aemond wanted Aegon dead, whatever works best for him and getting him close to the crown. Sorry, Aemond is amazing he would never covet what his brother has.

Because instead of getting only Ser Criston and Aegon, we got that pathetic scene of Aemond fighting Aegon in the middle of the street. Because Criston convinced Aegon by saying that his half-sister would be a threat to his family we also got Aemond looking for him, why was he there? He was so unnecessary in that scene, Criston and Aegon needed that scene. Criston needed to show his intelligence and Aegon needed to show the care and love he has for his family.

I really hate what they did with Aegon, and now? I don’t care about Aemond, I don’t care about his story or his character. I simply wished that they cut Aegon entirely, like they wanted to do with Daeron. Have the star of the green side by himself, but sorry, he’s only allowed to shine when Aegon is the villain of his story.

Sara Hess and Ryan Condal are a fucking joke, I hope that they’re never hired for anything ever again. Their writing is ridiculous, I just know that TGC will shine with whatever shit they write for him and then HBO will try to claim that it was because of them and their script. It won’t be, it’s purely TGC’s talent.

St. Michael. St. Gabriel. St. Raphael. These are the Three Archangels that is been mentioned in the Holy Scriptures, and they are honored by the Roman Catholic Church.

The archangels are spiritual beings of the highest rank created by God before the beginning of the world. They have no material body and are immortal. Their name is given according to the mission have received from God. The word archangel is only used twice in the New Testament: In the 4th chapter of Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians and the Epistle of Jude. 

The archangel Michael, whose name means 'who is like God (or Quis ut Deus?)', was assigned to fight the devil. He was appointed to cast Lucifer out of Paradise, for challenging the sovereignty of God, as according to the Book of Revelation: 'Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.' 

Michael helps us in the daily struggle against Satan, who will be defeated in the Apocalyptic war at the end times. 

In Roman Catholic teachings, Saint Michael has four main roles or offices. His first role is the leader of the Army of God and the leader of heaven's forces in their triumph over the powers of hell. He is viewed as the angelic model for the virtues of the spiritual warrior, with the conflict against evil at times viewed as the battle within. He was sent to announce the birth of Jesus to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In the Gospel of Luke, when Mary objected that she was still virgin, Gabriel replied: 'Nothing is impossible from God.' 

Gabriel has the power to assist us in the most desperate cases, and to protect those who announce the Good News. It is said that Gabriel is the destroyer of the sinful city of Sodom.

It is said that Gabriel played some important roles: he taught Moses in the wilderness to write the Book of Genesis, the revealing of the coming of the Savior to Daniel, his appearance to Joachim and Anne the birth of Mary, and the appearance to Zechariah to announce the birth of John the Baptist. 

In the Gospel of Matthew, Gabriel may have been the unnamed angel, who appeared to St. Joseph in his sleep and instructed Joseph not to divorce Mary quietly, and explained that Mary’s child was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and that He would be named Emmanuel, which means God is with us. And in the Gospel of Luke, Gabriel may have been the angel who appeared to the Lord Jesus himself, in the Garden of Gethsemane before His Passion, to strengthen him. 

The archangel Raphael, whose name means 'God has healed', was appointed to cure the sickness of the spirit and of the body, and appeared in the Book of Tobit, and is also identified as the angel who moved the waters of the healing sheep pool.

After getting blinded, God hears both Tobit and Sarah's prayers and Raphael is sent to help them. Tobias is sent to recover money from a relative, and Raphael, in human disguise, offers to accompany him. On the way they catch a fish in the Tigris, and Raphael tells Tobias that the burnt heart and liver can drive out demons and the gall can cure blindness. They arrive in Ecbatana and meet Sarah, and as Raphael has predicted the demon, named Asmodeus, is driven out. Tobias and Sarah are married, Tobias grows wealthy, and they return to Nineveh (Assyria) where Tobit and Anna await them. After revealing his true identity, he said to him: 'I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who enter and serve before the Glory of the Lord.'

Tobit's blindness is cured, and Raphael departs after admonishing Tobit and Tobias to bless God and declare his deeds to the people (the Israelites), to pray and fast, and to give alms. Tobit praises God, who has punished his people with exile but will show them mercy and rebuild the Temple if they turn to him.

Michael is the patron of the military and police forces, Gabriel is the patron of messengers, those who work for broadcasting and telecommunications such as radio and television, postal workers, clerics, diplomats, police dispatchers and stamp collectors, and Raphael is the patron of the blind, of happy meetings, of nurses, of physicians and of travelers.

So, here's the third update on my The 40 x Kill the Justice League crossover fan comic!

Compared to the last two fan comics, I wasn't feeling too motivated or patient to draw the characters and setting as best as I could, but still intended to update what I'd started.

In this scene, the unbrainwashed members of The 40 witness the brainwashed Edward, Rin, and Avatar Korra spreading the message of Brainiac's terraforming of the Earth. By "spreading the message", they meant converting anyone they find into mechanical abominations for Brainiac's army or killing people who continue to resist in the most gruesome ways possible.

Furthermore, what form of irony can Brainiac think of by making Edward Elric (an implied agostic and an alchemist), Rin Okumura (a Japanese Christian and a Nephilim; human-demon hybrid), and Avatar Korra (a semi-divine being) into evangelical-type worshippers to him akin to Bishop Mozgus from Berserk? If anything, it shows that Brainiac does have a twisted sense of humor despite being fully cybernetic.

In a form of faux symbolism, I position Corrupted Edward, Rin, and Avatar Korra in a way that resembles the Holy Trinity.

Profile: Corrupted Edward

Personality: Unlike the original Edward, Corrupted Edward has become full-on arrogant and assured of his alchemic knowledge, while also preaching of Brainiac's intended salvation for humanity despite the reality being far from it.

Powers and Abilities:

He possesses the same powers and abilities as his pre-brainwashed self but his intelligence and physical condition are further enhanced by cybernetics.

Light Manipulation: By using his alchemy, Corrupted Edward can transmute light, shaping it into a physical form of his choosing and manipulating it remotely. He can also use the light to either blind his opponents, heat up objects, or vaporize his targets into dust.

Fullmetal Mode: By using his alchemy, Corrupted Edward can encase himself in a full-body armor that looks similar to his younger brother's current body. This makes Corrupted Edward incapable of flinching from hits and can give powerful attacks and counterattacks.

Profile: Corrupted Rin

Personality: Unlike the original Rin, Corrupted Rin has become full-on arrogant and remorseless but lacks the unrestrained temper tantrums that plague the original Rin. However, he's still capable of harming and killing others at the slightest provocation most quietly and politely, except those he cares for. Like Corrupted Edward, Corrupted Rin also preaches Brainiac's intended salvation for humanity despite the reality being far from it. Also, due to the circumstances of his birth (as the son of Satan conceived through a human mother), Corrupted Rin likens his newfound purpose to Jesus Christ; a savior descended from a god-like being to bring salvation for humanity by redeeming them (e.g. converting them into Brainiac's henchmen) and punishing "heretics" who resist Brainiac's terraforming by unilateral use of his Blue Flames. He's also fond of quoting scripture from the Bible (King James Version) in the most misguided way possible whenever he does what Brainiac orders him to do, with his favorite quote being Matthew 10:34; Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Powers and Abilities:

He possesses the same powers and abilities as his pre-brainwashed self after awakening his Demonic Heritage but his physical condition is further enhanced by cybernetics.

Holy Resistance: Due to Brainiac's modifications, Rin's body is highly resistant to any attacks launched on him that are holy in nature, such as Holy Water.

Cold Generation: Through his incredible use and skill of his Blue Flames, Corrupted Rin can collect heat energy from an external source, or simply generate it, then transform the energy into sound, thus decreasing its temperature. Repeating the loop several times creates ice, which can be launched at opponents or create structures.

"Angel" Form: After various modifications to his body by Brainiac and through Corrupted Rin's own control of the Blue Flames, Corrupted Rin can transform into his "Demon" form with ease but it lacks a tail, has natural flaming wings, and is considered more powerful and dubbed as his "angel" form. Corrupted Rin can fly with ease, conjure massive fire storms, and shape his flames in various shapes.

Profile: Corrupted Avatar Korra

Personality: Unlike the original Korra, Corrupted Korra has become full-on arrogant but very tactical and calm-minded. Like Corrupted Edward and Rin, she's also preaching Brainiac's intended salvation for humanity despite the reality being far from it.

Powers and Abilities:

She possesses the same powers and abilities as her pre-Brainwashed self but her physical condition is further enhanced by cybernetics.

Cosmic Battle Avatar: Thanks to the various modifications done to her body, Corrupted Avatar Korra can tap into the Avatar State with ease and create a fifty-foot-tall battle avatar made of cosmic energy that likens to herself. Corrupted Avatar Korra is extremely difficult to harm when using her Cosmic Battle Avatar and can bend the four elements with simply her mind and willpower. In addition, she can create constructs made up of either cosmic energy or any of the four elements to aid her in battle.

My no.1 most hated ASOIAF character is Tywin Lannister. I hate this man. I hate him very much. I wish he would go away and die somewhere where he will inconvenience no one but the vultures. I loathe his manner. I loathe his style. I loathe the fact that he dares draw breath in a world where my loved ones do not or rather cannot because he murdered them. I loathe that he was rewarded for behavior which, in-universe, he should have been quartered for. I want him dead. I want to kill him and destroy him. There is not a single ounce — not even a miniscule amount ­— of sympathy I have for this scumbag. Not a single thing likeable about him. Not a single redeeming quality he has to his name. From the first moment he showed up on page until the very last mention of him, he was nothing short of disgusting. He is diabolical, satanic, monstrous, loathsome, ghoulish, sadistic, cruel, insert every single synonym of the term demonic here, etc. etc. I hate him. I hate him I hate him I hate him I hate him.

The whole “Yeah he’s evil uwu but Charles Dance is so granddaddy I can fix him <3" sales pitch this low IQ fandom has been pushing since the dawn of that accursed adaptation on top of it all only makes the intense disgust I hold for him so much fucking worse. Tywin Lannister has no conscience, no charisma, no morals, and he has no honor — all of that in an un-sexy way, one of the greatest crimes a villain with no traumatic backstory could objectively ever commit. Any stupid fool who says this crap needs to go back to elementary school in order to relearn how to read and how to interpret literature and themes in literature right the fuck now), never mind the severe mental torture he’s put his own flesh and blood through to the point where two of them are in a destructive incestuous relationship with each other and the other pushed to the point of patricide, this monster had his son's fourteen-year-old little child-wife gangraped by his guards, had each of them give her a silver coin after one was done with her, then had thirteen-year-old Tyrion rape her last and, contrary to the others, give her a gold coin because “Lannisters are worth more”. All because she was a common-born little girl who dared to marry the disabled son he hated so much. Am I supposed to think this piece of shit falls under the sexy evil category of villains? What sad backstory does this trash have to his name that would woobify him enough to “if villain bad why sexy” him? His father had a few mistresses after his mother died and gave them gifts and cared for them? Was that the tragic past of his that elevated him enough for people to wash their conscience clean so to cross moral boundaries all to lust after this so-called “sexy villain”? Tywin Lannister had his father’s mistress, who was nothing but a poor common-born daughter of a candle-maker, stripped naked and paraded through the streets of Lannisport for two whole goddamn weeks, and forced her to tell every man she came across that she was a thief and a whore, quite alike to what he did to Tysha as well. This man hates women. I cannot stress this enough, like Tywin Lannister hates women. And not just women, but especially commoner women. His modus operandi is inflicting sadistic sexual violence on any and all women he doesn’t like (which is like, all of them). As a true “if villain bad then why sexy” connoisseur and quite frankly, the president of the club, this man is not, never was and never will be a part of that esteemed category of villains.

And you know something that’s a veeery personal ick of mine — and this is really the icing on the cake for me — is shit-for-brains dickriders of this ghoul having the gall to pretend like he did not explicitly order the murder of Elia and her babies, that he apparently just “let” Clegane and Lorch loose on them. These low IQ fucks know what that demon did to his father’s poor mistress and what he did to little Tysha, and then somehow they still think this sadist with a severely fragile ego did not tell Clegane and Lorch to do what they did to her with his own mouth? Any waste-of-space who parrots this BNF-drivel (all said in order to minimize what happened to Elia, Rhaenys and the baby in place for Aegon) is not only going on my blocklist like immediately, they also need to die. Respectfully.

Now, I mostly spoke on his character from a moral standpoint, but I want to make clear that this loser’s shortcomings aren’t only morality-based. All the shit-for-brains stans this demon has know he has no morals so they always deflect to the “b-b-but he’s a military genius, that’s why I like him, I’m so edgy!!!” excuse and I want to emphasize how fucking stupid you have to be to believe Tywin is anything but brainless. AFFC is literally right there. GRRM’s explicitly spells out to the reader through Jaime’s POV how fucking stupid Tywin was in everything that he did. How the only show of military genius this demon had was through being nothing but a bully. All his work unraveled the second he died. He built nothing, and he will go down in history as nothing. That’s why his one and only legacy will always be that he got murdered on the shitter by his own son, like the fucking loser that he is.

I hate this fucking character with every fiber of my being.

On number 2 stands Aerys II Targeryen. Do I even need to explain this? What I said about Tywin applies to this racist, rapist, fascist piece of shit as well. I’m not going to waste my time and money psychoanalyzing this bottom-of-the-barrel trash. Aerys is the pinnacular culmination of three hundred years of Targaryen delusion, self-worship, egotism and five thousand years of Valyrian hubris, god-complex, and megalomania. Him and his daughter both, but I’ll get to her in a minute. This man’s lucky he’s only got 2 stans — and those two are only stanning just to be contrarians — unlike Tywin, who’s got an actual dedicated fanbase. Ugh. Two peas in a pod. One edge he has over Tywin is that at the very least Aerys has some sort of tragic backstory that’s actually valid. Too bad for him idgaf. Pour one out for Rhaella :(

My third most hated is ... Daenerys. Man… How do I even open this can of worms… I’ve a whole tag dedicated to hating her, soooo awkwardly waves hand in that direction. Everything about Daenerys is just so … racist. Racist on an in-universe level, racist on a meta level and racist on a fandom level, so I was never going to like Daenerys no matter what. The fact that she has the most insane and delusional and downright disgusting fanbase ever in all of media history really doesn’t help her case. If they hadn’t been this rabid and racist, then I don’t think I would have hated her this much. Because then I could’ve just had her character be as she is: the Paul Astreides of the series. A false Messiah, basically. The meta-level racism (GRRM making every single antagonist in her plotline nothing but walking, talking Reel Bad Arabs tropes; the use of POV trap which leads to none of the brown and black supporting characters in her story having a voice; GRRM’s own racism as in exotic-erotic tropes for all of the Essosi people, really badly researched POC cultures he based the Essosi off of, using brown and black people as nothing but props for the main white girl) and Daenerys’ in-universe racism (conquering and colonizing lands and peoples; white saviorism; imperialism; her hypocritical use of slavery) would still be there, of course, and I still would not have been able to stomach it meaning I still would not have rooted for her in any way, but then at the very least I would not have been subjected to a long decade of fandom racism being justified through the excuse of her freeing slaves from evil Reel Bad Arabs (spoiler alert: she is not freeing anybody).

Ugh, I don’t wanna talk about her. Everything about her from her character to the plot and storyline and her place in the narrative is downright insulting to me as a WOC, and quite frankly, any WOC that lays down their lives to defend this girl baffles me. Like, stop it. Please have some self-respect.

Then comes Jaehaerys the Old King. Father and inventor of misogyny. It’s crazy.

No. 5 is Rhaenys I and Daeron I the Young Dragon. EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST THE DORNISH SHALL FALL!!!

The sacred Sign of the Cross commands you, + as does also the power of the mysteries of the Christian Faith.

+ The glorious Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, commands you; + she who by her humility and from the first moment of her Immaculate Conception crushed your proud head.

The faith of the holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and of the other Apostles commands you.

+ The blood of the Martyrs and the pious intercession of all the Saints command you. +

Thus, cursed dragon, and you, diabolical legions, we adjure you by the living God, + by the true God, + by the holy God, + by the God "who so loved the world that He gave up His only Son, that every soul believing in Him might not perish but have life everlasting;" [St.Jn. 3:16] stop deceiving human creatures and pouring out to them the poison of eternal damnation; stop harming the Church and hindering her liberty.

Begone, Satan, inventor and master of all deceit, enemy of man's salvation.

Give place to Christ in Whom you have found none of your works; give place to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church acquired by Christ at the price of His Blood.

Stoop beneath the all-powerful Hand of God; tremble and flee when we invoke the Holy and terrible Name of Jesus, this Name which causes hell to tremble, this Name to which the Virtues, Powers and Dominations of heaven are humbly submissive, this Name which the Cherubim and Seraphim praise unceasingly repeating: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord, the God of Hosts.

O Lord, hear my prayer. And let my cry come unto Thee.

False Teaching Hurts Everyone

Why Do We Speak Out?

First and foremost, we hate to see God misrepresented. He is worthy of being known for Who He truly is as He has revealed in His Word. We don’t want our loved ones believing lies about our great Redeemer. It hurts to see all manner of ridiculous and harmful things attributed to our Holy God.

Then it’s about the people. Most of us have been in the movement ourselves but all of us have felt the impact deeply in some way.

False teaching hurts everyone it touches. It leads the desperate mother to sow seed offerings to the “Man of God” which she can’t afford. She’s been told her crippled son will be healed if she sows enough dollars with enough faith.

False teaching is responsible for ripping church congregations in half. It fuels narcissism in leaders and paves the way for the worst forms of spiritual abuse. Many of us have been on the receiving end.

It is the tool of Satan to redefine all the core concepts of the Christian Faith…most of all redefining faith itself. Our adversary is happy to have you preoccupied with your performance and the amount of faith you have rather than the object of faith. False teaching gets your eyes off of Christ and onto a host of shiny distractions such as “the secret to breaking generational curses” and “how to hear the still small voice”. People become enamored with anointings, mantles, breakthroughs, shifts, atmospheres, and deliverances. They’re told that all these mystical practices will cure their illnesses and stop them from sinning. False promises are handed out like candy.

Ultimately, false teaching undermines the Gospel and bars the way to life and liberty in Christ. It straps a million burdens on your back that God never intended you to bear. When crisis comes knocking on your door, false teaching has nothing to offer you but a stronger dose of delusion to numb the pain.

We speak out because we love people and the people we love need Jesus…the true Jesus Christ revealed in Scripture. They need the full counsel of the Word preached. The Spirit of God would have us preach the Law through which He convicts the sinner, followed by the Gospel of Christ crucified for the forgiveness of sins. He has no interest in promoting anyone to greatness. He dwells with the contrite and lowly. He is only interested in exalting Christ.

This we seek to do, though we do it poorly. This is our motive and aim. Souls are precious. God’s character is too beautiful to be misrepresented. His Gospel is too wonderful to be buried under a pile of counterfeits.

And let it not be said of us that we hate our opponents. If tomorrow, Bill Johnson publicly repents and shuts his ministry down and cries out to God for mercy, I’ll get a group of Christians together to go to Redding to give him the biggest hug he’s ever had, and we’d assure him that even though he’s been a great sinner, Christ is a great Savior.

I don’t hate these men and women. They deceive even while being deceived. Our battle is with the enemy of our souls who has taken them captive to do his will. We heed the orders given to Timothy…

“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:24-26

We love because of the love that’s been lavished upon us. Grace upon grace. If not for the kindness of God, we could be in the shoes of the false teacher. We do get angry at the things they say and the spiritual abuse, but we remind ourselves that “There go I but for the grace of God”.

And so we continue to speak. Even as we’re labeled as cold hearted Pharisees. It’s ok. The reward of seeing yet another little lamb snatched to safety away from the wolves is enough to compensate for the slander and the pain of being misunderstood.

For these reasons we press on.

God’s amazing love for you

“May you have the power to understand…how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.” Eph 3:18 NLT

 

Paul writes: “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand…how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete” (vv. 16-19 NLT). In spite of our best intentions, we still sin. As a result, we feel bad about ourselves. And Satan uses our feelings of guilt and condemnation to make us doubt God’s love for us. But if God loved you enough to send His Son to die on your behalf while you were a full-blown sinner, you can be sure He won’t change His mind about you when you’re His redeemed but struggling child. Feeling bad about sin is actually proof that you truly are God’s child. When you were born again, you became a regenerate spirit living in an unregenerate body. So when you permit sin to enter your life, your regenerate spirit rises up and says, “Get that out of here, it’s incompatible with who I am.” It’s not that God doesn’t love you when you sin, but that sin is an unwelcome guest that makes you feel bad about yourself and robs you of confidence toward God. So if you have sinned, repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and move forward stronger and wiser.
