Jackie Taylor is for sure a hater of any hobby you have. Why would you want to have a hobby when you could just watch her being pretty?? 

she’d definitely approach this with the intent of getting you to stop playing and pay attention to her at first. she’s laying all over you absolutely astonished that you’re still playing video games while she’s there. You seriously have a pretty girl in your lap and still want to play minecraft?

She’s realizing the error of this plan as you assume she’s interested and start explaining what’s going on in your game. It wasn’t her intention, but she figures at least this way you’re still paying her attention. She’ll get what she can get.

Jackie would end up getting really interested in the story line and would get upset with you if you even thought about playing it without her. she asks you so many dumb questions about game mechanics and makes you go through every single dialog option that it takes you like 40 hours to finish a 20 hour game

Jackie would get really into competitive games on your behalf. like she'd sitting there cheering you on like she's watching a fucking soccer game. Jackie buys you headphones with a mic so she can start shit talking people you play against. she gets really into the spirit of the competition man. 

Jackie talking about you embarrassing her after she shit talked everyone and you died like 3 minutes in lmao. all “how could you do this to me 😔” and shit. i just know Jackie Taylor would be an absolute menace on a mic regardless of if you had the skill to back it up

Jackie has you off in the mines for days because she wants an iron block accent wall. she only ever wants the expensive blocks I just know it. she's building your house out of the wood block instead of the planks, and she'll be damned if she's gathering those resources herself

Jackie gets pissed whenever your character can marry/date another character. She found out you married Haley in Stardew Valley and still glares at you whenever she sees a coconut. “why don't you go tell your WIFE 🙄.” my petty queen. 

trying to get Jackie to play a resident evil game but she cries like ten minutes in because she's so stressed/scared from the background noises. three creek floor noises and she's gone. hasn't even gotten in the house yet 

Jackie grows to really love the fact that you have a hobby she can also enjoy/participate in with you. Jackie loves to spend all her time and energy with you, even if you aren't giving her your full attention like she'd prefer. 

Jackie makes you pick all the nice dialog lines because she'll get upset if your character is mean. She has such strong opinions about dialog choices that she'll argue with you for like ten minutes over why you should pick a certain choice even though it has absolutely no impact on the story

Jackie definitely cheats at choice games and knows all the possible consequences for every single choice. you go to steal a candy bar or something and she's like “NOOO!”

slightly unrelated but Jackie would totally pick bae>bay without hesitation. Everyone in the town is dead? small price to pay for lesbians

- Soren’s flashbacks mixed in between scenes of the new Spartans. Great show of how nothings changed for the spartan program. And jeez, he wants to go back? Some real Stockholm shit.

- THE SUIT! HES IN THE SUIT! He’s so cool I love him. Also “what it would mean to me” from Perez just breaks my heart. And her humanizing him! When literally this episode has had multiple of the opposite!

- oh FUCK YEAH John just walking through the building like a badass. All those people stopping and looking at him! He knows how awesome he is

Alright y’all I hope that was somewhat coherent. This show drives me nuts with the cliff hangers but John truly has skyrocketed to the top of my list of favorite characters. Also he’s attractive, so that helps too lmao. Anyways season finale next week will probably kill me! :)

I’m not sure if I shared this before but:

Heimdall was the first to fall, actually! He realized his feelings for her because of a book. He read how it was to be in love and it oddly described his feelings for Ylva. He got incredibly conscious of her after that she called him out for acting weird. He didn’t want to accept it (because 1, he can read her mind and there was not a single trace of anything romantic from her end and 2, ew) and buried his feelings for years!

I forgot to describe the robeast last episode so i'll do both now! The one that totally did not kill Sven was called the Exospike robeast and weighed at 3750 short tons! His weapons were twin forward stab spears, bone blades, fan blasters, and had an organic carbon steel exoskeleton This episode's robeast is called the Blue Fiend, not as creative, and weight 4150 short tons. The weapons are shoulder-harness XEnergy beams, king's crown spikes and horns, robust battle fists, and has dual-layer organic armor

We get a superfast cut of the mice trying to chew Allura free of the ropes and then not even a second later we're back to Keith almost getting torn apart LMAO oh nvm it just keeps going like that, really quick back and forth between Allura's escape and Keith getting manhandled

So! The Stardew Mod Idea Post. Actualization and accuracy of said actualizations to this list my vary wildly!

I gave them all their own little titles in my notes and just kept it that way. Dumping the contents of that app onto this blog is fun I should do it more.... now it’s officially is a spam account. Dear god I hope the readmore works.

-- Part 1 (The mods that aren’t npcs) -- 

“HV Style Special Gifts” is a bit of a friendship overhaul. While playing FOMT I really liked how their gift system handled cooking -- in both FOMT and SDV, cooking a dish requires you to upgrade your house and gather all of the required ingredients, which takes loads of effort depending on the recipe. IMO cooking is the weakest “activity” in SDV, and giving homemade food items the same weight as FOMT gives them would actually make me wanna cook more.

So: Most cooked dishes and the prismatic shard are now classified as “Special” gifts for the NPCs who love them, and now they give +120 friendship points and get a unique response ala FOMT’s special gifts.

There is an optional Part Two to this mod, where certain rare items can be forged into special gifts for marriage/roomie candidates (also ala FOMT, because I also liked making jewlery). To craft each, you’ll need the listed item/s, 3 refined quartz, and enough money to commission Clint to make them (for 3000 - 5000g? Price undecided.) They’re meant to be hard to make, to prevent a year 1 player from being able to make one every two days or something. For Late-game players that’s probably possible, though… they’d selll for a good profit, at least 1000g more than the commission price. Jewlery for “Magical” npcs require /another/ ingredient because if you’re trying to marry a god damn wizard you’re gonna Work for it buddy boy

“Kitchen Minigames” is another “improvement” to cooking to make it more fun (to me.) Mining, fishing, combat, etc. have you doing something active and that makes it engaging, and while there’s no vanilla “cooking skill,” there’s enough recipes in the game to justify one. But when you cook in vanilla, it’s just… >click menu item. The mod would add a minigame a few seconds long when you cook something, with variations for pouring a drink and baking a pastry.

 It would be pretty simple, just asking you to press/hold WASD at certain times (my concept for the pouring one would just have you hold w for 3 seconds), and if you fail one you’d just have to try again without losing any items. And if you’re, say, using Love Of Cooking to create multiple dishes at once, you would only have to win it once to cook all of them. My DREAM would be to add totally unique minigames for certain dishes — like dropping the toppings on a pizza, stirring a pot of pumpkin soup, cutting up a melon for the fruit salad… Stardew Valley Cooking Mama edition. This one goes out to the players who like immersion: “Under The Weather” would add two styles of three new clothing items to the game: A raincoat, rainhat and rainboots, which can be bought from Willy or Pierre for 200g each, and a medicine item which can be bought from Harvey for 500g each (universal neutral gift). 

From then on, if the player stands in rain for over 6 hours straight without wearing a raincoat, they start the next day with the Unwell debuff. Being unwell makes all tool actions take twice the energy, and in my perfect dream world make the player have a custom sneeze animation when they wake up, alongside a prompt that goes something like “My nose is stuffed up… I should’ve worn a raincoat yesterday.” The debuff lasts multiple in-game days unless you take the medicine, and you’ll get a big chunk of energy back. It would also be configurable which clothing piece would prevent the debuff, if you just REALLY wanna wear a certain shirt outside. 

-- Part 2 (The mods that are npcs) -- 

“The Other One” is 100% specially made for indulgent reasons, idk if I’ll even release this one to the public if I finish this on my own..! It’s just not fair that we only get one nonhuman relationship option, sooo! Give the dwarf a star pendant and ask them to move in with you. That’s the Mod. It 1.4’s the bomb dispenser. 

In the days since I came up with this I wrote way way more, here’s the details:

The quarry map would be edited to have two glowing eyes behind that opening next to the reaper statue — whoever’s in there would offer to sell you a star pendant for... 50 cave carrots? 100 solar essence? Either of those would work. The Roomie Experience would be pretty much like Krobus’s deal - except they’ll come out on summer nights, to work on their spaceship. Dwarf’s enamored by your TV, and thinks your animals are kind of disturbing (especially the horse), and they hang out in your cellar a lot, and they give you bombs... They also steal from you, maybe? Not in any tangible “lose an item” way, but they can and will just take your shit. Their fourteen-heart event would be them powering up their spaceship for the first time..!?

Once in a while, they’ll give you a lava crumble, like how krobus would cook a strange bun (I like how even the nonhumans cook for u...) They might also give you a miner’s treat. The crumble gives you +80 energy, +30 health, +2 mining and +2 defense, because really, what else would it do. However, only the farmer and the Dwarf have the fortitude to wolf down this whole thing, so everyone else will dislike it… except for Abigail, who’s neutral towards it. The recipe to make one yourself would be: Sugar, Solar essence, Fire Quartz. You’d probably get the recipe from the volcano shop.

I know Krobus doesn’t have any heart events besides their fourteenth, buuut… I think the Dwarf should have a couple. As a treat. If you’ve got the polyam mod installed and have Krobus /and/ Dwarf move in with you, that should get you a special event, too… it would be so funny look imagine…

Instead of refusing to speak to you if you kick them out, they’ll just tell you to fuck off..? Their spouse room would look pretty wild. Who put all these god damn rocks in my house. Is that a sword

The .. “vibe” of the spouse dialogue would be configurable, possibly, if one wants to stick to the “roommates are platonic” thing. Not me though, God grew me in a vat especially to make sure that this would be the outcome of my life up to this point and my feelings about this little motherfucker can’t ever be changed. Liking characters with shadowed faces and glowing dot eyes is in my Very Bones, you see

“Hatmouse” is the shortest “custom npc” entry here. It makes the hatmouse much more of a person you can interact with. I like the little guy and I wanna be friends with ‘em and there’s at least 1 person on the Stardew subreddit who agrees with me, so……. There’d be 3 heart events for them, at levels 2, 4, and 8, there’d be a couple more letters they send you, and they would!! Talk to You!! When you buy from them!! Their gift tastes are still a bit of a mystery to me. They’d love cheese, sunflower seeds and cloth, at least. Maybe that’s all I really need to list for ‘em…

Portraits are a must, too; if I don’t get to see the rat giving me a thumbs up when I get a new achievement then what’s the fucking POINT of it all!!!! 

Finally, their relationships would just be [Bear: Enemy] and you wouldn’t get any context for it.

Ok it’s time for me to talk about Ensley hoo boy. oh no. alright

“Ensley” is exactly what it says; it adds Ensley to the game and you can marry him if that is a thing you’d want to do for some reason! I love “secret” and “tedious/weird to unlock” characters in dating/life sims that you can’t meet right away, or maybe ever.. the harvest goddess and kappa in harvest moon, the stalker girl with the hoop hair in tokimeki memorial… and Ensley is That but for This One.

He’s a little elf or somethin’ who lives in the secret woods, and to meet him you’ll have to:

Have not married anyone until Winter of year 2

Have two hearts or more with most npcs (the 12 marriage candidates and also Gus, shoutout to Gus)

Not sold out to Joja yet

Done the Old Man Cannoli quest

Donated the ancient sword, elvish jewelry, and ancient seed to the museum 

Realize that there is now a tiny passage in the far right of the map the next time you visit the secret woods.

THEN knock on the little door you find and voila! 

Ensley is technically not supposed to be there — long ago the elves all left to another plane for [undisclosed reasons] but he missed the memo and got left behind. While being able to do magic, he isn’t powerful or knowledgable enough to open up a portal to get to where he’s supposed to be on his own.

Elf magic is a forgotten art, taken with them when they left, and so closely gatekept that not even the oldest human wizard around would even know the beginner stuff... So he’s just been kinda,,, hanging out for however long it’s been, always a little bit anxious and uncomfortable and collecting trinkets, watching humans and having parties with himself as a distraction…. Practicing what he’d say if a puny human solved his puzzle and tried barging into his home to steal all his Possessions... Clumsily trying to keep up the image of “aloof high-and-mighty Noble Elf who knows EXACTLY what he’s doing.” 

As you raise his heart level he slowly finds out that there’s a rift that hasn’t completely closed even after all this time, But..! If you made the right dialogue choices, he might decide that he’d rather stay in the human world with someone who likes him for who he is, than go back to pretending to be someone else in the elf kingdom, where nobody really treated him like an equal anyway. When he’s not fronting as a fantasy trope at the very beginning, he’s like… hm… like if the Muddler could Talk To The Trees and Critters and also had the alcohol tolerance of the hole in the ground, basically.

Will I be able to write him well enough to justify all the arbitrary rules I set up to unlock him!? I DONT know!! You get some elf lore and a couple new items, at the very least… perhaps even a new building and species of, say, mythical farm animal to inhabit it..? Topping up on ambitious features is my passion.

Ryoma and Gintoki Similarities

bored prodigies/ highly skilled person with troubled past.

actually very strong and quite experienced in matches/battle

defeats/confronts characters and cause them to grow. This make the opponents respect them afterwards.

Both are trying to find meaning and purpose in their life.

plot armor very strong.

Both have strong sense of justice/ideals that they weren't afraid to enact on everyone be it teammate, bystander or foe.

both don't really voice their thoughts all that much. They just did their thing while the others around them changed. We saw growth in them when they actually spoke their mind or when we were given a window to their thoughts.

Both their main teams were so lost when they were not around or they were not themselves.

both had the influence to make important gather to help out in dire times.

Ryoma was a kid pushed intensively into an sport by his parent from the time he was born. There was questionable parenting going on. This made him more relateable to kids and teenagers who grew up in strict households where grades/performance is priority.

For Gintoki to work as a character, he was written as an adult war veteran just trying to get by in life by doing any kind of job. He's relateable to many adults.

Like obviously Sorachi was the much better writer but you can see why he respects Konomi so damn much. He put Konomi Takeshi's song "Tenipuri tte ii na / Tenipuri is Good" on the final Shonen Jump chapter of Gintama after all! (this was before Gintama transferred to Jump Giga)

Sure it is still debateable whether Konomi achieved his story's "goals" at the end. The more amazing thing he did was provide a main character that deviated from the more popular type of loud, clueless, hotheaded hero and made that story a huge success.

Btw this was from a fun conversation on twitter today. I felt like a blindfold was pulled off my eyes. I couldn't stop seeing similarities between gintama and PoT anymore lmaoo

Felix

Felix was livid when he saw what happened to you. Someone had dared lay waste to his everything— It was a personal offense to him, really. He would much rather die in combat than allow harm to befall you. A silent curse under his breath, that should’ve been him taking such a blow.

Your wounds weren’t lethal, but they were visible, bloody. They’d heal with time in the infirmary, there are plenty of healers in Garreg Mach. It wasn’t good enough for him. He struggled to wait. Sitting by your side, hand clutching yours as you recovered, you could feel him tremble under your weakened touch. Felix was afraid, but he wouldn’t tell a soul.

Of course he’d always been sharp-tongued. Snappy, got his way around obstacles by cutting through them without remorse. He couldn’t do this with an issue like injury. Silence befell him when you were suffering, reverent as you realigned yourself, but his biting demeanor came back when you could stand by his side once more.

Opening up to let you leave the monastery anymore was... difficult. Felix worried. He wouldn’t say it, but he feared for your life when he wasn’t there. Before, he was never the type of lover to be close at all times, but now? Hand on the hilt of his sword, shoulder against yours, he refuses to allow harm to befall you again.

Sylvain

He truly had dedicated himself to you. No more messing around with other girls, it seemed the two of you were joined at the hip. Arm slung around your shoulder, casual kisses, his fingers intertwined like lace, fitting so perfectly with yours... A damn shame the moment he stepped away to ward off his own foe you were most vulnerable to enemy attack.

That was the toughest moment of his life at Garreg Mach that he can recall. Clutching you in his arms as he rushed back to the infirmary. Choked back sobs and wobbling voice, “It’s okay, it’s okay.” You’d never seen Sylvain truly cry over anything, yet here he sat hunched over your spot on the infirmary bed, bawling his eyes out.

Sylvain knew deep down that you’d be fine, you had to be. Manuela and Linhardt were seasoned healers. You were recovering quickly. You weren’t even in pain anymore- but he ached. He couldn’t put words to the feeling, as if he’d failed you, he’d done something wrong.

Every time you’re with him now, he makes to savor every moment, to make it last as long as possible. Hands seem to clutch hands for longer. Eyes always on you, even from across the room. It wasn’t an option to leave you open to harm. It never was.

Caspar

Caspar was with you when it happened, he always fought by your side. Maybe he was looking for a battle to kill time, maybe he just wanted an excuse to be with you, but his reasoning didn’t matter when he saw you hit the ground. It pulled him from the high of the battlefield down to reality in an instant.

You’d think, with his constant need to come out on top, he’d have stayed and struck down your attacker relentlessly. He didn’t. There was a moment of shock, a scream, steel boots hitting earth and the sound of armor being shed so he could just get to you, he had to be fast. Feelings of frantic hands doffing gauntlets to grip sides slick with crimson.

That was all you remember from the battlefield, at least. The way he held you to his chest, heartbeat pounding as he scrambled out of enemy territory, somewhere safe, somewhere you’d be safe.

Caspar was upset for infinite reasons. That he didn’t get to you before the assailant did, that they were still out there, that he wouldn’t get the satisfaction of cracking the skull of they who laid harm to you— But you were safe at his side for now, and he planned to keep it that way.
