Can you please write Older! Eddie x reader, where Eddie presents Reader with Wayne or his friends but they don't trust in reader, but then she proves them wrong, and they're like, she's good for Eddie or something like that? (Maybe Wayne will be more interesting to me personally bc he's Eddie's uncle, but I can completely see the Hellfire Club and Wayne all being like, we don't trust her!)
-🩷
I had most of this written in the beginning of the month but couldn't find the motivation to write the perfect ending. But! I just finished it and hopefully it's an ending that made the story worth it. Thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy it 🫶🏻
Young girls and trust don't mix
Tumblr media
Eddie was in his 40s and struggled to find anyone. He'd been single for years and never found out what falling in love was. He slept around and never had an empty bed, but there wasn't a spark or anything. He was a rockstar and his life was on the road. He prepared to never be tied down.
It was a shock to everyone when Eddie released to the world that he had a girlfriend, and more of a shock when they learned she was in her twenties. The headlines went crazy and girls were filled with envy. The most wanted bachelor was now off the roaster. And when Wayne heard the news, he was immediately concerned.
He wanted Eddie to find a nice girl and have a family. A young girl? Wayne didn't believe she was going to lead him into a marriage. She was too young for that and Wayne feared she was around for the fame and fun.
~~~
"Wayne, I don't want to talk about this again!" Eddie groaned, he sat on the small couch in his tour bus. Y/N's head rested on his lap as she skimmed through a magazine.
"Eddie, I'm just telling you! Dating a girl that young doesn't seem logical. Look into the future, like five years, do you think she'll still be around?"
"Yes," Eddie said without missing a beat.
"Edward, you met her after your show, right? She's a fan and you know how dangerous and manipulative a fangirl can be." Wayne warned. A conversation both men had over and over. Yet, none of it changed Eddie's mind.
"Night Wayne." Eddie sighed and hung up. He took a deep breath to calm his anger and chucked the phone across the bus.
"Still doesn't like me, huh?" Y/N said as she skimmed the magazine, but her eyes looked up to meet his.
She couldn't lie, it pained her that the most important person in Eddie's life didn't have positive thoughts about her. She understood Wayne's worries and she wished she found a way to prove him wrong. She knew she was young, but there wasn't a doubt in her mind that she'd walk down the aisle to Eddie. She wanted his hand in hers forever.
"I just don't get it! I've been with you for almost a year and he still fights me on it. He thinks you are a groupie since you go to all the shows with me."
"I know, babe," Y/N sighed, she sat up and cuddled into his lap. "but! He hasn't met me yet. Your last show is in Hawkins, then we'll have a few months for me to win him over. He might need to meet me to trust me. All he has is tabloids, of course, he's skeptical."
"But why isn't my word good enough?" Eddie groaned, his face in her neck as he breathed in her sweet scent.
"Because only idiots fall in love." She teased as she poked his side. "He just thinks you blinded, love."
"I'm going to make him love you. Just like I do." Eddie promised.
"Maybe not like you do is a good idea." She joked.
"Haha." Eddie faked a laugh as he nibbled at her neck. She giggled and squirmed.
Y/N vowed to make Wayne accept her.
~~~
After a few more days of sold-out shows and arguments over the phone with Wayne, Eddie's show in Hawkins arrived. Eddie was extra nervous about the show since Wayne would be there and Y/N was supposed to be meeting him. Eddie wasn't sure what he'd do if Wayne didn't change his mind about her. He didn't want to break up but he didn't want to live with the pit in his stomach of the two most important people in his life not getting along.
Y/N was focusing on Eddie's eyes as she applied the black eyeliner when Wayne was escorted into the dressing room.
"There the big rockstar!" Wayne joked, Y/N stepped back to allow Eddie to stand up and embrace the older man in a tight hug. She smiled at the moment as both refused to let go first. Y/N knew how important it was for Eddie to have Wayne here. To see him perform after years and years of not making it. Tonight was the first night Wayne would see Eddie as the rockstar he finally was.
Wayne pulled back with a smile, his eyes never looked to the right to see Y/N.
"I can't wait to see ya perform!" Wayne said the anxiety in Eddie's stomach tightened.
"This is the biggest crowd of the tour. I think I might barf." Eddie admitted. He was terrified. He hated coming back to Hawkins, to a town where he was nothing but scum. The rest of the world loved him, but what if home still didn't? What if he went out there and everyone hated him?
"Baby, you will do amazing," Y/N reassured him, her words caused their heads to turn. Both Wayne and Eddie looked at her with two different expressions. Eddie, who looked grateful and soft. Wayne, looked like he wished she didn't speak.
"Wayne, this is my girlfriend, Y/N." Eddie proudly said as he wrapped his arm around her waist. She smiled and held out her hand, Wayne stepped forward and shook it.
"Pleasure to meet you, Sir." She said as their hands released each other.
"Right, so Eddie! Where will I be sitting?"
"Next to my girl," Eddie said with a big smile
~
Y/N walked silently with Wayne as they were escorted into the front row of the stadium. People screaming as she passed through. She waved and smiled, being as polite as she could. Wayne tried to not roll his eyes as she soaked in the fame. Another thing Wayne was always telling Eddie about.
"So we'll sit and he gets about half an hour to do his vocal exercises then he'll be out," Y/N said, sitting down in the small chair. She tried to ignore how awkward the air felt. She took a minute to look at the crowd, and it truly was the biggest crowd she'd ever seen.
She and Wayne sat in silence as they waited for Eddie to come on. But Y/N couldn't help but notice the clock struck 8, and Eddie still wasn't on the stage. She tried not to worry and figured the stage management was running behind.
She stood up when Eddie's manager came rushing towards her.
"Y/N? Eddie is asking for you." Eddie's manager said as he whispered into her ear, she nodded and turned to Wayne. "I'll be right back!" And raced after his manager. Wayne didn't think twice about standing up and following behind her.
~
Eddie was panicking. He made the mistake of looking at the crowd, and now he couldn't feel his legs. He sat on the floor, hurdled up, and ate at his fingernails.
"Eds?" He heard Y/N call from outside the door, and she softly knocked. She waited a second before she opened the door, her heart cracked seeing a nervous Eddie huddled on the floor.
"What's wrong?" She asked as she sat on the floor. Eddie didn't speak but moved to be in her arms. It was like their bodies communicated as Eddie began to relax.
"It's okay to be nervous, but trust me, they will love you. They are your fans and here to support you." She encouraged them as she rubbed his hand.
"What if I'm not good enough to be something good in this town," Eddie confessed. He was too ashamed to look up at her and to see Wayne.
"Nonsense. You were always something good. They never learned who you were, because if they did, they'd love you. They'd see how sweet, creative, and funny you are. But this is their chance to treat you the way you always deserved. Go show them what they missed out on."
Wayne watched as Eddie jumped up with a new confidence, the atmosphere of the room lifting as he threw his guitar over his shoulder. He felt ashamed of the way he acted, it was easy to tell Y/N was the best thing that ever happened to Eddie. In a shitty town that only gave him hell and a family that was filled with betrayal. He still managed to find someone to bring his spirits up.
Maybe she deserved more credit than Wayne thought.
~
Wayne watched as Eddie performed his life. And he couldn't help but embrace the energetic energy Y/N brought. She sang every song, knew every lyric, and danced perfectly to every beat. It was clear that she had every part of his songs memorized. He also noticed how much Eddie looked back to her, his eyes landed on her every few minutes. Then a small smile appeared before his eyes moved on.
There was something really special about the relationship Wayne was seeing, and he knew he accepted it right then and there.
~~~
After the show, Wayne apologized for his actions and words. But Y/N didn't hold it against him. She understood where he came from and was happy to have changed his mind.
Eddie was grateful Wayne gave her the chance because the sight of them getting along was the best thing Eddie got to experience.
Summary: When the team are called out to a mugging scene, they get more than they bargained for when they find (Y/n). Eddie's little sister. Evan's crush.
Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
"Is that your girl?"
Evan lifted his eyes from his phone and looked across at Hen who was wiggling her brows and curving her lips into a wide grin. She pursed her lips and tilted her head, pretending to blow kisses his way until Evan was smothering a smile and shaking his head. He looked down at his phone and quickly shoved it back in his pocket before any of them could lean over and see who he was messaging.
"Nope."
"Hm,"
"You holding out on us, Buck?" Eddie nudged Evan's shoulder as the truck started moving and they all got comfy in their seats.
"No, no one special in my life." He was speaking the truth. Mostly. Evan wasn't in a relationship, but that didn't mean he didn't have his eye on someone he thought of as special.
He just so happened to know Eddie's little sister rather well and he thought she was amazing. But she was Eddie's sister and that meant Evan had to tread very carefully. He couldn't try anything or push the bouondaries and ruin the friendship he had with both (Y/n) and Eddie if she didn't see him in that way.
And she hadn't technically messaged him right now either. He had sent her a message earlier but hadn't heard anything back. He just wanted to check his phone since their third call out of the day was now finished, but she hadn't gotten back to him yet.
"Yeah, sure so you-" Chimney cut himself off and looked around the truck as if a sign from God had just dawned upon them when a call came through the radio from dispatch.
"Dispatch to one-eighteen. We have a scene on the corner of Park Street, attempted mugging with two casualties. Please respond."
"One-eighteen, on our way."
A chorus of groans flooded the air of the truck as everyone grabbed their headsets and put them on as the siren started to blast out again. It looked like they were no longer heading back to the station to have dinner, they would be going on another call out. Evan's shift was now extending, he was planning to have lunch with the team and go home for a long power nap. Guess not anymore.
"Do you think we'll get to make an arrest?" Evan looked out the window as the truck made a sharp right turn and sent them all squishing into each other like sardines in a tin.
They had gone to a scene before when Hen was acting Captain and she got to make an arrest while they waited for the police to turn up and apprehend the man. If this was a mugging scene and the mugger was still there, maybe they would get to arrest him as well as patch him up and wait for assistance.
"I think the police will be on their way, Buck." Bobby leaned behind him to pat Evan's shoulder.
If they were being redirected it was because they were the closest scene and they would be able to provide medical assistance quicker than sending an ambulance out. And dispatch would have to notify the police about an attack so chances were a police car would be on their way to the scene as well.
"Eddie, Hen, get a med bag each. Let's see what we've got."
Everyone climbed down from the truck and went to grab their gear and Evan followed after Bobby, trailing away from the truck to see what was going on. They could hear shouting from the moment they climbed down from the truck and there seemed to be a gathering of people hanging around.
"LAFD, make room. Can someone tell me what's happened here?" Bobby rose his voice to the crowd of five or six people gathering in a huddle near an alley. He glanced his eyes around everyone to try and see what had happened, he couldn't work out where the casualties were and dispatch said two people had been injured and needed help.
"That bitch stabbed me-"
"He attacked that girl and she stopped him getting away."
A sigh passed through Bobby's lips as he planted his hands on his hips and looked at the man who was laid on the floor. He was cradling his left thigh where a puddle of blood was trailing down his leg and dripping onto the pavement beneath him. He had a frantic look in his eyes, black gloves on his hands matching his hoodie and jeans and he had a cloth around his neck that Bobby guessed someone had pulled down to see his face.
Bobby made his way to kneel beside the attacker and silently pointed at Evan to go see where the other casualty was.
Evan had his words all formed in his head. 'Miss, it's the LAFD. Can I check you over? Are you hurt?' But he didn't get to say any of them when he moved towards the alley and caught sight of the girl in question. She was curled up on the floor, leaning against the wall at the very edge of the alley. Her body was slumped to the left, knees curled awkwardly beneath her and her arms were coiled tightly to her chest as she slowly rocked herself back and forth.
Tears drenched her face and sobs and bubbling gasps broke free from her trembling lips. But when Evan caught sight of her face, his blood ran cold and he couldn't breathe.
Oh God no.
"(Y/n)? (Y/n) it's me, it's Evan." He dropped down to his knees in front of her and held his hands out in front of him to show her he wasn't going to hurt her. He was safe. He wanted to help. "Can I-"
"Evan!" His name croaked past her lips like he was some sort of miracle or epiphany that (Y/n) had wished for.
Her trembling body pushed forward onto her knees and she thrust herself into Evan's chest before he could ask if he could help her. His arms froze in mid-air before he snapped himself back into action and slowly coiled his large frame around her like a safety blanket.
He gently smoothed his hand up and down her back, tensing when he felt her hands slip beneath his florescent jacket and her nails scratched into his shirt like sharp metal nails. Someone had tried to attack her. Someone had hurt her, here, in broad daylight. Someone had attacked Eddie's little sister, the girl Evan was sweet on.
"Buck, what we got?" Eddie slung the medic bag on his shoulder and trudged over to Evan while Chimney and Hen went to sort out the man Bobby was trying to calm down. He could hear the man shouting and cursing from over here and it made Eddie cringe. It didn't take much to guess that the man was the mugger. Sometimes Eddie didn't like the fact that they also had to look after the people comitting crimes as well as the victims.
He dropped the bag to the floor but when he knelt down beside Evan, Eddie's blood ran cold and he tensed. His jaw locked in place and his chocolate brown eyes glazed over like black holes when he looked at the girl curled up in Evan's arms.
"(Y/n)," Her name fell from his lips in a quiet whisper and he realised he was shaking. His hands were gripping the medic bag, curled around the leather until he was leaving markings in the bag. And Eddie could feel Evan nervously fidgeting beside him, unsure how anyone was going to react.
"Eddie!" (Y/n) could barely see her brother due to the tears streaming down her face and she hiccupped through her breaths.
Her arms uncurled from Evan and she started to sob harder when Eddie almost ripped her out of Evan's arms and into his own embrace.
"No, no what's happened? What the fuck did he do to you?!" Eddie brushed his hand along the back of her neck but when he leaned down to kiss the top of her head, he pulled back quickly. (Y/n) cried out into his chest, flinching down and croaking when he touched the top of her head.
His hands moved to gently cup her face and he tilted her head down so he could assess the top of her head.
Blood was smeared into her hair and trickling down the side of her face near her ear. But what made Eddie frown and caused Evan to lean over for a better look was the tiny shards of green glass they could see meshed in with her curls.
"(Y/n), what happened?" Eddie smoothed his thumb across her tear-stained cheek while his eyes raked over her for any further injuries.
When Eddie gently let her go so he could rummage around in the medic bag, (Y/n) turned to look at Evan in surprise when he shrugged off his florescent jacket and draped it around her shoulders. The action made her chest ignite for different reasons and calmed down her raging, hiccupping breaths.
Without thinking, (Y/n) leaned to the side and tucked herself back into Evan's chest as if that was where she belonged and he didn't object. He swooped his right arm around her waist while his left hand ran up and down her trembling arm to try and keep her calm.
"He… he grabbed me from behind and d-dragged me in the alley. When I wouldn't give him my bag he pushed me down… I- I did what you said,"
Her words caused Eddie to pause and look up at her in panic. What had he told her do to? What advice did he give her as a big brother? Eddie had told all three of his sisters a lot of advice over the years. He was the eldest out of them all and when their dad worked away, Eddie had to help look after them. (Y/n) was the youngest out of them all and Eddie was the closest to her which was why she had moved down to LA with him and Chris.
He had tried to give her a lot of self defense advice and teach her what to do and what not to do in certain situations.
"I had my keys on me so… so I stabbed him, I didn't want him getting away,"
"Bobby, the weapon used on him," Evan gently took (Y/n)'s keychain from her and held it out to Bobby who was stood in the middle, observing the scene as a police car rolled up. The captain nodded and placed the keys in a plastic bag.
(Y/n) remembered Eddie telling her she could use anything as a weapon if she needed to protect herself and keys were a great weapon. They were small to hide in the palm of her hand and they were metal and had jagged edges, perfect to cause a little damage and harm someone enough to make them stop.
She needed the man to get off her and he was thrashing around pinning her down, she didn't know what else to do. (Y/n) found her keys from her pocket and thrust her house key into the man's left thigh. She didn't know where her power came from and she almost threw up when she watched and felt the metal cut through his flesh.
But it stopped him from getting away. She wasn't letting him leave after attacking her.
"What did he do to your head, sweetheart?" The pet name fell past Evan's lips before he could stop himself but he was glad Eddie didn't seem to notice.
"He was screaming at me, before I could move he grabbed a bottle and h-hit me, I-" She broke off, another round of trembling tore through her body as she started to cry.
"He smashed a bottle over your head?!" Eddie tilted his head to look over at the man currently getting an IV in his arm and his trouser leg cut so they could see the extent of his leg wound. "Wait 'til he meets me, I'll shove it up his-" He broke off when he felt Evan jerk his shoulder. (Y/n) was starting to hyperventilate and Eddie going into protective mode wasn't going to help if he was going to start a fight.
"Shh, hey it's alright. You did great," Evan gently unravelled his arm from around her waist and his smile faltered when (Y/n) desperately grabbed at his arm as if she thought he was about to leave. "I'm gonna give you an IV, get rid of the shock."
Evan thought for a moment as he held (Y/n)'s hand that was digging so tightly into his exposed arm that she was starting to draw blood. She was clearly in a big state of shock if she was afraid letting go of him was going to somehow get her hurt.
"Here, hold tight." He gently prized her fingers from his arm and moved her hand to his thigh as he shuffled closer until their knees were touching. She could squeeze, scratch and grip his leg as much as she wanted and he didn't care if she punctured through his trousers into his flesh. As long as she stayed calm.
He looked through the bag and found an IV bag and a needle and he swabbed the crease of (Y/n)'s elbow before gently pushing the needle into her vein. She was in so much shock she barely flinched at the feeling.
Eddie's chest rose and fell rapidly as he tried to stay calm but he couldn't. Someone had chosen to make his sister a victim, tried to hurt her and then whacked her over the head with a bottle that had smashed and cut through her skin. She was lucky she didn't have any mass bleeding and that the glass hadn't reached her skull. He could have given her swelling or cranial damage.
He slid a blood pressure cuff up (Y/n)'s left arm and checked her BP which was rather elevated but her pulse was good.
"Eddie, how is she?" Bobby moved to stand near the, unsure what was happening over here when both members of his team seemed to know this victim. And he didn't like the dark look in Eddie's eyes when he turned to face him.
"That cunt smashed a bottle over my sister's head."
"Ah. This is (Y/n). Can we get her transported? Athena's going to take him down to the hospital in custody before he goes to the station."
"I want to take some of the glass from her head first before we transport. Are you hurt anywhere else?" Eddie wasn't moving her until he had removed as much glass from her wound as he could so there was less for the doctors to do once they took her to hospital.
Whimpering, (Y/n) leaned forward and silently indicated to her back. Her fingers dug into Evan's thigh and her head pressed onto Eddie's shoulder while Evan moved closer. He hummed quietly and moved his jacket back so he could gently lift (Y/n)'s shirt and look to see where she had been hurt.
"Skin's flush and warm, might have a bit of internal bleeding. Let's get the glass out and move her." Evan traced his fingertips over (Y/n)'s left hip, near to where her kidney would be. Her skin was discoloured and very warm, she could have internal bleeding but it didn't look too worrying. She could have a scan once they got to the hospital.
"Okay, this might hurt, try and stay still for me."
Evan's brows rose in surprise when (Y/n)'s hand let go of his thigh so she could clutch onto his hand instead. She reeled his hand into her chest and leaned against his bicep while her head tilted forward so Eddie could look at her head.
Every time her body shuddered and jolted, Evan squeezed her hand and rested his other hand on her knee to try and keep her calm. His lips curled in distaste when Eddie slowly started to pluck shards of glass from her hair with a pair of tweezers. He heard Eddie whisper 'don't move' but as soon as he relieved a large shard, blood trickled down (Y/n)'s forehead and she gurgled through a scream. Her body tremored against Evan and she jolted when Eddie poured a little saline over the wound to clean it and see if there were any more pieces he could remove.
They both counted ten various sized shards of glass that Eddie placed onto a cloth on his knee.
"Let's get you to hospital," Eddie dropped a little more saline onto the three various cuts on his sister's temple before he pressed a patch of gauze over them to try and stop the blood loss and hopefully soak up any smaller shards he hadn't managed to get.
"Up we go,"
The pair held one of (Y/n)'s arms each and slowly eased her up between them, gripping her hands tightly as she started to tremble again.
Adrenaline coursed through (Y/n)'s veins and she could feel her stomach churning and jolting when she was upright. Her feet could barely pick up from the floor, she dragged her feet, scraping them against the pavement as he knees bent and she let the boys guide her towards the truck. Practically dragging her between them.
(Y/n) groaned and suddenly doubled over, snapping her eyes closed as she leaned forward and threw up onto the floor. She felt like she needed to be sick again and get rid of whatever was still in her stomach but all she could do was cough and gasp for each breath as another round of tears started to fall.
Leaning down, Eddie looped his sister's arm around the back of his neck and gripped her waist tightly with his left arm so he could take her weight for her. He let Chimney and Hen climb into the truck first as the mugger was patched up and already in Athena's squad car.
Buck clambered up next and turned round to reach down for (Y/n). He gently but firmly gripped her forearms and hoisted her up the steps as Eddie held her waist and eased her up between them.
"Alright… let's put these on so you don't go deaf, hm?"
A small smile tugged at (Y/n)'s lips when Evan eased her down into a chair and crouched between her thighs like he belonged there. He strapped her in and grabbed a headset, trying to get them over her ears without touching the top of her head. He slipped the band over the back of her head so it was nowhere near the cuts in the centre of her head and squished himself into the seat between (Y/n) and the window as Eddie sat on her left.
They didn't have the ambulance with them on this call out so it was a relief (Y/n) didn't have any nerve damage and that she could walk so they didn't have to radio for an extra ambulance. They could just take her to the hospital in the truck.
"Is this your sister?" Hen looked between (Y/n) and Eddie, already noticing the resemblance and the way Eddie gripped her thigh showed he cared deeply for her. But he couldn't find it in himself to smile when he nodded silently to her question. He didn't want them all to meet like this.
"Chris… I- I have to pick him up," (Y/n) slumped her head back onto Evan's shoulder so she could look up at Eddie.
She was supposed to collect Chris from school since Eddie was on shift today. She couldn't wait around in the emergency room to get checked out when she had to pick her nephew up. There wasn't enough time to find someone else to go and get him.
"I'll get him, don't think I'm leaving you alone like this."
"I could, you know, I could go get him. My shift's technically over, I can take (Y/n) home and get Chris later, you're still on shift." Evan ran his hands up and down his thighs as he looked between (Y/n) and Eddie, smiling at her head resting comfortably on his shoulder.
He was done now, his shift ended after their last call. Instead of Eddie having to cancel his shift and both of them leaving the team short, Evan could look after them both for him. He would stay at the hospital with (Y/n) and take her home and collect Chris later. He loved spending time with both of them and (Y/n) shouldn't be alone right now.
"Are you sure? Is that alright?" Eddie looked from Evan down to his sister because he would stay with her if she asked him to. But her lips curved into a smile and she leaned further into Evan, nudging her nose against his neck while she closed her eyes.
She wanted to go to sleep. She didn't mind who stayed with her as long as she wasn't left alone at the hospital.
"We'll drop you both off here then Buck. Call when you need a lift back," Bobby turned to look in the back of the truck, nodding at them both. This was where they would part ways, at the paramedic entrance to the hospital. They could easily come and pick them up when they were ready since Evan was still in his uniform and his jeep was back at the station.
"Will do."
Eddie kissed his sister's temple, muttering a quiet 'love you' into her skin as his palm pressed into her lower back to help her get up.
Evan jumped down from the truck, leaving his helmet in the back along with his gloves while his jacket was still wrapped around (Y/n). He held his hands up towards her with a dopey grin that made (Y/n) really want to smile, if it weren't for the lightheaded feeling that overtook her.
She could barely feel her feet that skidded against the steps causing the team to gasp as Eddie bolted forward and Hen reached out to grab her arm. But they didn't have to worry when Evan jumped forward and grabbed her before she fell down.
An arm secured around her waist with his palm splayed out on her back and his other arm looped around her thighs just beneath her bum. Evan cocked a grin as he pulled back with (Y/n) in his arms.
"I gotcha." Evan lowered her down a little in his arms but kept hold of her and kept her feet from the floor. Walking in was going to prove long and stressful whereas Evan could just carry her inside to make things easier. "Let's go, sweetheart." He stepped back onto the curb, nodding at the team that he had her safe and sound and he bit back a smile when he felt (Y/n)'s arms loop around his neck and her face tucked into the crook of his neck.
"Thank you,"
***
(Y/n) smiled gratefully at the nurse and took the small white bag of antibiotics from her which she stuffed into her bag.
Two hours. It had taken two hours to get all the glass removed from her head, have one of the cuts glued shut from how deep it was, take a dose of morphine. And then go up for a scan to make sure she had no internal bleeding.
(Y/n) was ready to go home and she was thankful it had timed perfectly for her and Evan to go and collect Chris. Evan didn't have to leave her alone at the hospital to get Chris and then come back for her. He had stayed by her side like a bodyguard. Arms crossed over his chest and a stoic, protective look on his face.
He let (Y/n) dig her nails into his arm that she had already scratched earlier and he had kissed her temple when all the glass was removed.
"You're free to go."
"Thank you," (Y/n) nodded briefly at the nurse before she rummaged around in her bag. "Bobby still has my keys." Evan had given them to Bobby to show what she had attacked her assailant with. The keychain held her house keys and Eddie's keys for when she collected Chris while he was at work.
"I'll get them for you when we get back to the station, hopefully they will be cleaned up." It wouldn't be great to have her keys still caked in blood. Evan doubted that Athena would take the keys into evidence or take them to the hospital. The mugger had been patched up by the team, he only went to the hospital for any shots he might need and pain relief along with an all clear.
"I didn't wanna hurt him, I- I just-"
"Hey, he attacked you. He could have given you a bleed on the brain, you had every right to stab the bastard. Does it still hurt?"
Evan looked down at her head which looked pretty nasty from his height advantage point. She had a cut down the middle of her head that broke through her hairline into her forehead but it was more superficial than painful. The one that had been glued was now swelling up and would be bruised and tender in a few hours. (Y/n) wouldn't be able to wash her hair or touch her head for a week and she would be living with constant headaches for a while.
"A little, I feel… woozy." (Y/n) managed a smile as she gripped the edge of the bed she was sat on and pushed up to her feet.
The morphine took away most of the pain and sickness but now she felt drugged, wobbly and like her head weighed more than the rest of her body.
Her lips parted in a gasp when her feet bent awkwardly beneath her and her knees pushed forward into Evan's thighs. His hands reached out to grab her waist and he reeled her into his chest with ease, tilting his chin down so he could look at her through the height difference.
A smile wormed onto his face and his eyes creased at the corners as he smiled down at her with that dopey yet cocky grin that made (Y/n)'s stomach flutter.
"You keep falling for me today, huh?" His thumbs brushed up and down her exposed hips and his head tilted to the side as he stared at her wishfully.
"Seems so,"
(Y/n) kept her eyes level with his chest while she slowly dragged her fingertips up his biceps and along his shoulders until her thumbs could brush against his neck. She finally dared to lift her head up enough to meet his gaze that was piercing through her like there was a question burning in his mind that he was desperate to know the answer to.
"I guess I'd better get used to catching you then,"
The feeling of Evan's lips on hers made (Y/n) shiver and when she pushed up on her toes and swiped her thumb across his jaw, she felt his hands tighten around her hips. He pulled her chest flush against his and leaned down to catch her at a better angle.
His teeth bit her lower lip while his hand trailed up her side, gliding his fingertips across her skin to make her flush and squirm against him. He cupped her chin between his finger and thumb, nuzzling his nose into hers when they parted. (Y/n) could feel each breath he gasped against her lips and the moment she looked up into those ocean blue eyes, she felt her knees giving way.
If this was falling, (Y/n) never wanted to land.

I’m dying for you to write something along the lines of Eddie planning a date w you and the sitter falling through so you have to have dinner at his house w Roan🥺 can’t wait to see both of their reactions to how pretty you look all dressed up for the date!!!!
omggg | dad!eddie x fem!reader
Eddie's a picture of defeat, dressed up and braced over the countertop. He knows the sitter isn't coming. Not ten minutes after she was supposed to, not twenty.
The phone rings. He picks it up. "Yep? Yeah. Yeah. I figured. Okay. Yep."
He's not being fair — the babysitter is a young girl a couple of trailers down. She's no professional but Roan knows her, and Eddie knows her. She'd been a sure bet.
Eddie's never gonna find another sitter tonight.
He keeps the phone in his hand and rubs his eyes, stressed beyond words. How is he ever gonna ask you to be his girlfriend when things like this keep happening?
Roan comes to stand at his feet. She's in pyjamas with her hair down, her baby curls straighter with the weight as it grows. He drops a hand on top of her head and follows it down. "What do you want?" he asks. Not unkind, but suspicious.
She buries her face in his legs. "Nothing."
He hums, non-believing. Her hands grasp at the sides of his thighs and she sighs. Eddie knows that she knows he was going somewhere without her and that this is her attempt at a guilt trip. It's kind of working.
He puts your number into the phone and holds the receiver against his ear, one hand safe and sound at Roan's small back. He's lucky you pick up, lucky you aren't just about leaving.
"She can't make it?" you ask after he relays his problem.
"No... Wayne's too spent to have her, or he would've."
"Well, maybe I could come over?"
His relief is palpable. "We'll get takeout?"
"I'll grab some on the way. What does Roan get from The Three Dragons?"
Eddie takes your willingness to change plans as extremely encouraging and hangs up with a smile. He'd already cleaned for the sitter, so there's nothing to do but throw Roan over his shoulder and listen to her squealing laughter while they wait for you to join them. He dangles her upside down and right way up, messes with her until she's begging to be released, and when he pulls her back up she clings to him. Works everytime.
He takes his stolen cuddle with no guilt and flops down on the couch. If he wants to put her in some extremely not real danger to milk her affection, he's gonna do it shamlessly.
She sits with her legs across his lap and her cheek to his chest, talking for a while with a nervous kind of whine to her voice. "Don't want you to go," she mumbles eventually, arms around his waist.
He clocks it. She doesn't realise he's staying for good. She doesn't have a clue you're on your way. Her night just went from bad to amazing.
"You really don't want me to go?" Eddie asks quietly, stroking an inky dark curl from her face.
Roan pouts and nuzzles into his black dress shirt. "No," she whines.
"Maybe I'll stay, then. Would that be okay?"
She whizzes to life, blinking at him quickfire and smiling so nicely he wants to take a photograph. "Yes, stay here," she says. Her voice is wobbly.
He accepts her climbing, feet digging into his thighs as she stands on him to wrap her arms around his neck, curls and all. He chuckles and pats her back, the brushed cotton of her comfy clothes soft under his hand.
"Baby, that's not even the best part."
Roan takes a second to digest this. She thinks about what he's saying, he can near see the cogs turning behind her eyes.
"We can have chocolate?" she asks.
"Better. We can have Y/N."
Cue your knocking at the door. Roan springs away from him like you might catch her cuddling up to him and discover she likes him, hands flying from his chest. She almost falls on her face as she slides down his leg and races across the room. Peculiarly, she waits at the closed door for him in silence, though her pert nose wrinkles with what can only be called the world's cutest pout.
Eddie follows behind her. He holds a hand to her shoulder to stop her from walking into the door as he opens it with a thin metal clatter. The two of them are shocked to silence at your unveiling.
You're perfect. Eddie really thinks you're perfect. Your hair looks beautiful, your face practically glows. You smile like you always do, unapologetically happy with that touch of awkwardness. He finds it adorable that you'd be unsure of yourself even now.
"You'll never guess what they had at The Three Dragons," you say, holding up the bulging white plastic bag where it dangles from your fingers.
"Y/N," Roan says happily, a huge smile on her tiny face.
You drop your dramatics and beam at her. "Hi, baby. Don't you just look snug as a bug?"
Eddie takes the takeout and your purse on automatic, knowing what's gonna happen before it does. As he predicted, Roan throws herself at you and expects to be picked up immediately. You've yet to deny her anything, swinging her up to your chest with little care for your nice dress.
"They're my jammies," she informs you, spreading her arms so you can see the flowers adorning her chest.
"They're so pretty." Eddie watches your hand smooth up her back lovingly, your fingernails trailing gently over Roan's shoulder blade as you walk a ways into the living room, managing to close the door behind you with a well-aimed kick. "Fit for a princess."
You wink at Eddie, as if to say Yeah, I'm getting good at this.
"You look pretty," Roan says.
Eddie melts. You melt worse, your exuberant smile softening.
"Can I give you a kiss?" you ask her.
Roan turns her face to brandish her cheek at you. You look over her head to check Eddie's face. He holds up his hands, your bags sliding down his arms. "Kiss away."
You press a sweet, small kiss into her cheek. "Thank you," you say, forehead pressed to her dark curls. "I'm not as pretty as you, Ro, but I tried. Wanted to look nice for your daddy."
"He thinks you look killer," Eddie says.
You smile but don't lift your face, hand rubbing a gentle pattern over Roan's back still. "He doesn't look half bad himself."
You dot another quick kiss to Roan's cheek and pull up to meet his eyes. "Can you pass me the box from the bag, please?"
Eddie digs it out and hands it to you. "I'll go plate up, should I?" He needs a second to get over how pretty you look. Recalibrate. Become his cooler, cockier self, the kind of guy that might actually have a chance with a girl like you.
"Yes, please."
Eddie moves to the kitchen, sneaking glances at you every now and then where you've moved to the couch. You sit with Roan on one thigh, the skirt of your dress split and showing a fascinating length of naked leg. He shakes his head at his own behaviour and turns back to the food, dipping the tip of his finger into Roan's sauce to make sure it's not too hot.
"All the princesses have these," you say.
Roan sighs in wonder.
Eddie licks his finger clean and returns to spying on you both, curious. Roan's got either side of a hand fan in her grips, eyes wide as she takes in the painted flowers decorating its fabric.
"You can cover your face with it, or you can just use it to cool down." You take it from her carefully. "Like this," you say, waving it at her.
Her eyes close. Puffs of air blow the hair from her face.
"Does that feel nice?" you ask, bubbly.
Roan giggles.
I'm fucked, Eddie thinks, watching your lips quirk into an uneven, enamoured smile. I'm totally fucked.

Steve Harrington is used to suffering in silence.
Steve conditioned himself to stay quiet when he gets hurt. It doesn't matter it he stubs his toe on a chair, gets punched or has his flesh eaten by vampiric bats. He will just suck in his breath and grit his teeth. If others don't worry, neither does he.
Steve doesn't cry. He feels the bitterness rising in his throat, but he takes a deep breath and swallows, once, twice, clenches his fists until he can breathe again. Eventually his tears simply won't fall anymore. He wonders if he's even human anymore, he just feels numb and hollow.
He searches for a genuine connection and cannot find it, but he can't blame the girls. They all like him well enough when they start dating, but he can't relax, can't let them in, and eventually they notice he's not really there. They push, prod, blame or try to help, but it doesn't matter how they approach him. He can't tell them what happened to him, can't tell them why he can only sleep with a light on, why he checks all doors and windows before going to sleep. So they part ways and Steve knows he's broken, another failed relationship to prove it.
Steve does exactly what is needed when others break down. He allows others to grieve, takes on their responsibilities. While Dustin screams and cries, while Robin chokes out a sob and nearly throws up, Steve kneels over Eddie's lifeless body and performs CPR. He yells at Nancy to start a fire, cauterizes Eddie's wounds to stop the bleeding - if he ever wakes up, but then he does, takes a breath, two, winces in pain. His pulse is weak but present and Steve, still unsteady on his feet after being choked by the vines in the Creel house, cradles Eddie close, lifting him up.
Steve doesn't break down at the hospital when the nurses attempt to reject treating Eddie. He uses his family's influence and threats of legal action ("try to justify letting an innocent man die based on a rumor to my family's lawyers. I dare you") and doesn't leave's Eddie's side, distrustful of the doctors. He is quiet when his wounds start bleeding again from the exertion, he grabs some gauze and presses it against his sides, only taking a sharp breath. He doesn't let anyone touch him, not until Eddie is stabilized. And even then, he demands to stay in the same room with Eddie, not bothering to hide the disdain for the nurse and the glances the doctors exchange now and then.
Steve doesn't dare to sleep. He won't accept anesthesia to have his wounds cleaned and checked. He feels it all, even when the doctors try to numb his pain, and he's gritting his teeth, not letting a sound through - what if they drug him? What if he stops being vigilant for a few crucial minutes, what if he isn't there to save Eddie again and this time it will be too late? He grasps the edge of Eddie's bed and wills himself to stay conscious as the disinfectant stings his bared flesh.
When the doctors finally declare Eddie as stable as possible and force Steve to rest, he doesn't comply until they give in and add one bed to Eddie's room. Steve keeps pinching his hand until it's red and swollen, keeps his exhaustion at bay. He watches the steady rise and fall of Eddie's chest and thinks that maybe if he doesn't close his eyes, the breathing won't stop. The heartbeat won't fade, not this this time.
Steve Harrington is used to suffering in silence and not asking for anything for himself. But when Robin, Nancy and Dustin finally barge in, disregarding the nurse's orders, he doesn't even need to say anything. As Dustin checks on Eddie and babbles rushed thank yous to Steve, as Robin grasps his hand and checks his wounds, Nancy pulls a chair to the corner of the room, facing the door and grasping the handgun in her purse. She smiles at Steve, small and pained, but a smile nevertheless. "Thank you for watching over him, Steve. Max is stabilized too, Lucas is with her. We'll take over now. Go to sleep."
Steve falls asleep, his hand warm in Robin's, knowing that Eddie is protected, that he can let go for a moment. As he feels his body being enveloped by the softness of the bed, he has a brief realization - it doesn't matter if he's quiet when he suffers. With friends like these, he doesn't need to say anything, he doesn't need to scream in pain to be cared for. Not when Robin doesn't leave his side and has a bottle of water and some light food ready for when he needs it, when Nancy's sharp eyes never leave the door and when Dustin body blocks Callahan trying to arrest still unconscious Eddie. With friends like these, maybe he isn't broken after all.
And he gets the proof that he is indeed still human when Eddie wakes up and his first words after blinking and adjusting to the hospital light are "wow, you look like shit, Harrington." Because Steve lets out a sob and hey, are these tears? Probably not, because tears never felt this good, but something in Steve shifts, glues itself back together and he's whole again, he's himself and maybe with friends like these, he is unbreakable.

Chapter Nine
Eddie's POV
Eddie woke up screaming and clutching his sides. He was drenched in sweat and trembling all over. Wayne burst into the room, looking panicked as he dropped to Eddie's side.
"Where does it hurt, son?" Wayne asked. "Does it hurt here?"
"No, it's just a bad dream. Just a bad dream," Eddie whimpered. "I think something bad is going to happen, Uncle Wayne."
"It's okay, son, I've got ya," Wayne said and hugged Eddie tightly as Eddie burst into tears. "I'm here."
Eddie could tell it was early in the morning because it looked like Wayne had just gotten home from work. Eddie sniffled and wiped his face as he pulled away from him.
"I'm good, Uncle Wayne," Eddie said.
"You haven't had a nightmare like that since you were little, and your mama started getting sick," Wayne frowned. "You wanna talk about it, son?"
"No, I just want to forget about it," Eddie said.
He tried to wipe the image of Nancy being cornered by her boss, the fear on her face, and then the image of Steve screaming in pain. . .the image of him lying on the floor covered in his own blood. The dream had ended with Eddie being eaten alive, with Nancy and Steve screaming his name. Eddie refused to go back to sleep and decided to get ready for the day. He settled into distracting himself until it was time to go to the festival. He read Lord of the Rings, worked on his campaign, worked on writing his music, and when Wayne left for work, he settled down in front of the television. The images wouldn't go away, however, and he couldn't get the feeling that something was seriously wrong.
The feeling stayed with him even when he showed up at the festival. It was supposed to be an exciting time, but all Eddie felt was fear. They were going to show up, he told himself as he waited by the entrance. Maybe they showed up before him and went in. Eddie started walking around, trying not to panic and let the fear overcome him. As he was looking for them, he saw a figure slumped over between a couple of booths. Eddie approached the figure slowly and nudged him. He didn't move. There was a bullet hole in his chest. This guy was fucking dead.
"Oh, shit," Eddie said.
Fear shot through him, and he was in full on panic mode. He took off and started running around, calling for Steve and Nancy. When he approached the entrance, he spotted Hopper and Joyce Byers. Eddie watched as Joyce approached the Mayor. . . And slugged him in the face?? Eddie didn't wait and took off after them, heading toward a bright yellow car.
"Hey, Chief!" Eddie yelled.
"What? I don't have time for whatever this is, Munson," Hopper said.
"Well, first off, did you know that there's a dead guy over there?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah, we're dealing with it, kid," Hopper sighed.
"Also, where are Steve and Nancy? They were supposed to meet me here, and I got this weird feeling that something fucked up is going on here," Eddie said.
"Look, we're dealing with that, too. Don't worry about it. We'll let you know when we find them. There's nothing to worry about, kid," Hopper said.
"So, I don't have to worry about Nancy being chased by a flesh monster made from her former boss or Steve being tortured in a Russian underground bunker?" Eddie asked.
Hopper and Joyce stared at him before sharing a look with each other. Yeah, it seems like his dream wasn't so crazy after all.
"We don't have time for this!" A balding man yelled.
"Get in," Hopper finally decided.
Eddie hopped into the car, sitting himself next to the balding man, and then they took off.
"How did you know about the Russians?" Hopper asked Eddie.
"Well, this is going to sound weird, but I kind of had this dream last night," Eddie said. "Nancy was being chased, Steve was being tortured and drugged, then it sort of moved forward. I was in this place that looked a lot like Hawkins, except it was covered in vines, and there was this floating dust or some shit. I was on the ground with vines wrapped around my throat, and then these bat like creatures were eating me alive," Eddie said.
"Jesus," the balding man muttered.
Hopper and Joyce stared at each other again.
"Okay, that dream isn't so crazy?" Eddie asked. "Does that place exist?"
"We call it the Upside Down," Joyce said. "Well, the kids do."
"Steve’s kids? The ones he babysits all the time?" Eddie asked. "He brags about them a lot."
"They're good kids," Joyce said smiling.
"They're shitheads," Hopper said, smiling fondly.
"He calls them that too," Eddie said with a grin. "Affectionately."
"So, have you had dreams like this before?" Joyce asked.
"A few times. Once, when I was six and my mama started getting sick. She wanted to keep it from me, but then I had a dream that she was dying, and then she did," Eddie said softly.
"I'm sorry, that must have been rough," Joyce said sympathetically.
"It was," Eddie said. "A couple of years ago, I dreamed that your son got trapped in the Upside Down. I thought it was just a dream because it was all over the news about him at the time, and then last October, I dreamed that there were these tunnels under Hawkins with fucked up looking dogs who's face opened up."
"You didn't have to go to a bunch of doctors when you were a kid, did you?" Hopper asked.
"Well, there was this experimental program my dad put me through to treat my asthma that I apparently didn't have. Honestly, he was only in it for the money. I did see a bunch of doctors, but they told me I didn't qualify for it, which makes sense because I didn't have asthma," Eddie said, and they shared another look. "What?"
They both proceeded to explain to him about a program called MK Ultra where a man called Dr. Brenner experimented on children, giving them powers.
"It's possible that he didn't think you had any," Joyce said. "Especially if you didn't tell them about the dreams."
"Damn," Eddie muttered. "By the way, who the hell is this guy?"
"Murray Bauman," the balding guy introduced.
"I heard about you," Eddie said, narrowing his eyes at him.
"All good things from Nancy Wheeler, I hope," Murray said sarcastically.
"No, I don't like you," Eddie said and glared at him.
"And what did Nancy say about me?" Murray rolled his eyes.
"Well, I believe a creepy asshole who likes to put his nose where it doesn't belong are the words she used to describe you," Eddie said, and Hopper snorted.
They pulled up to the Starcourt Mall a few minutes later and walked into find quite a scene. Steve and Nancy were surrounded by a bunch of kids. A young girl was in the middle, and something shot out of the open wound in her leg. It landed at Hopper's feet, and he squished the slug like creature under his shoe. Steve and Nancy looked at Eddie in surprise.
"Eddie?!"
He shot forward and pulled them both into a hug. They immediately hugged him back tightly.
"Are you the guy who almost killed Steve and Nancy in the freezer?" A curly haired boy asked, his hands on his hips.
"And this must be Dustin," Eddie grinned as he pulled away from the hug.
"You know about me?" Dustin asked.
"Steve only talks about you all of the time, you and his other precious kiddos," Eddie said teasingly.
"He does?!" Dustin asked and beamed.
"What's this about killing Steve and Nancy in a freezer?" A redheaded girl asked.
"Eddie, what are you doing here?" Nancy asked.
"That's a little bit of a weird story," Eddie said.
He glanced over at Hopper, who was tending to the young girl's leg. Turns out it was his daughter, El. The redheaded girl was Max, the pale gangly boy was Nancy's brother Mike, there was Lucas who was dating Max, and Eddie remembered Will from that time in the music store. Will remembered him, too.
"So, you dreamed about us being in danger?" Nancy asked Eddie.
"Yeah, I suppose it's because you two have become very important to me over the last few weeks," Eddie blushed.
"Aw, Nance, I think he's saying we're his best friends," Steve teased.
"Aww," Nancy cooed and pinched Eddie's cheek.
"Excuse me, that title belongs to Jeff," Eddie said.
"Then what are we to you?" Nancy asked.
"You know, you can have more than one best friend," Dustin said, saving Eddie from answering the question.
It was then that remembered the first aid kit in his pocket. He pulled it out and walked over to Hopper, Joyce, and El. He opened it.
"Do you guys need anything in here?" Eddie asked.
"Oh, yes, thank you," Joyce said, pulling out some ointments and bandages.
"You just had that in your pocket?" Hopper asked.
"I'm a professional klutz," Eddie said seriously, and Hopper snorted. "His name is Princess Nigel."
It was El's turn to laugh, showing her dimples, and Eddie flashed his dimples right back at her. El furrowed her brows at him.
"Are you my brother?" El asked.
"You do sort of look alike," Joyce said in amusement.
"We do!" Eddie laughed. "I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if I did have brothers and sisters out there. My dad used to cheat on my mom all the time, even when she was sick. He wasn't very clever with the names he came up to tell the ladies with either. Overheard my uncle yelling at my dad about it. Al Munster was one of them. Allan Smith. Andrew Rich. He actually used Eddie once! I don't know why he bothered. Everyone knew who Al Munson was."
"Did you say Andrew Rich?" Hopper asked.
"Yeah, why?" Eddie asked.
"Because that's the name of El's father," Hopper said.
Eddie stared at him for a moment before looking back at El. He laughed and slapped his knee.
"Well, it looks like I am your brother, after all," Eddie said with a smile, and El held out her arms, grinning. "Ooh, a hug for big brother Eddie?"
Eddie moved forward and hugged his little sister. His little sister. This is not how he expected this evening to go. As he pulled back from the hug, El played with his vest.
"Bitchin," El muttered.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
Eddie laughed and ruffled her hair. It seemed like having a sister would be cool. He smiled as he wondered over to take care of Steve.
"I have a sister," Eddie declared as he worked on cleaning Steve’s wounds.
"We heard," Nancy said in amusement.
"So, this is your first time with all of this, too?" Robin asked as she leaned over his shoulder to watch him work.
"Yeah," Eddie said.
"How are you not freaking out?" Robin asked.
"Oh, trust me, sweetheart, I'm freaking out on the inside," Eddie replied.
"Well, you should know that Steve Harrington is actually my new best friend, so you better do a good job, Dr. Munson," Robin said.
"Haha! Dr. Munson! Good one, like that would ever happen," Eddie scoffed.
"Okay, Nurse Munson then," Robin said, and he glared at her. "Candy Striper Munson?"
The best he could do was clean the wounds and spread some antibiotics over them. They would need more tending to later. He hated seeing Steve like this, and judging from the way Nancy was clinging to him, she was worried too. They all gathered around the tables to listen to Hopper go over the plan on how to destroy the machine that was opening a gate to the Upside Down. Of course, Hopper wanted to be the hero and go in there alone. Murray and Joyce wouldn't let him, though. Hopper couldn't navigate his way through without Dustin's help, but he didn't want to put the kid through any more danger. So, Dustin would need to be taken to Mount Weathertop to Cerebro. For a split moment, Eddie thought Lord of the Rings and the X-Men were real, too, until Steve explained that it was a radio thing that Dustin had built. Steve and Robin would be taking him while Eddie went with the others to take El to Murray's bunker.
"This is fucking crazy," Eddie mumbled shakily as he hugged Steve tightly.
"Everything's going to be okay. We'll be right back," Steve muttered softly.
"Don't say that. They sat that in horror films and then they. . . Well, they don't fucking come back," Eddie said.
"That's a horror film, not real life, Eds," Steve snorted softly.
"Well, this fucking feels like a horror film," Eddie said.
He pulled away and looked over to find Nancy hugging Jonathan. He couldn't help the sharp twist of jealousy that fueled his stomach. Jonathan was staying with them, so why was Nancy hugging him? He looked over and saw that Steve looked just as jealous as he was. Steve quickly covered it up when Nancy walked over to them.
"What was that about?" Eddie asked.
"I was thanking him for saving my life," Nancy replied.
"Oh, well, thank God for that, Ace," Eddie said.
"Ace?" Nancy asked.
"Like ace reporter. I thought it would be a cute nickname," Eddie said.
"It is cute," Nancy blushed and then she looked at Steve. "Stay safe."
"You too," Steve said.
Steve and Nancy hugged tightly. Eddie watched with Nancy as Steve walked out of the mall with Robin, Erica, and Dustin. Eddie let El have her moment with her father before approaching them.
"Take care of your sister," Hopper said, nudging his fist against Eddie's shoulder.
"Will do," Eddie said, saluting him and then turning his back to El. "Hop on, no sister of mine is hopping around on that ankle."
El giggled, wrapping her arms and legs around Eddie. He skipped over to Mike and Nancy, El laughing the whole way.
"Mike! I have a brother! This is Eddie," El grinned. "Eddie, this is my boyfriend, Mike."
"We're back together?" Mike asked in confusion.
"Oh. Right. I dumped your ass," El muttered.
"Why did you dump his ass?" Eddie asked.
"He lied about his Nana being sick, but she was not sick at all," El explained.
"Her dad threatened me!" Mike exclaimed.
"It probably had something to do with the fact that you were sticking your tongue down his daughter's throat all the time," Nancy said. "Even I thought it was a bit much."
"Dude, of course, her dad threatened you. That was a test, and you failed. Is she not worth fighting for?" Eddie asked mockingly.
"Yeah, Mike, am I not worth fighting for?" El asked and Mike scowled at Eddie.
"I'm fucking with you, dude, it's none of my business," Eddie said. "Although, I'd rather you actually use your words to get to know my sister."
"You've only known her for like a few minutes," Mike scrunched up his nose.
"And I would throw down my life for her," Eddie said, holding his head held high.
"Do not do that," El said seriously. "Promise?"
"Yeah, kiddo, I promise," Eddie said softly. "After all of this, you can tell me all about being an older sibling, Ace."
"It's annoying mostly," Nancy said teasingly, and Mike scowled at her.
It got kind of scary after that. They tried to escape in Nancy's mom's car, but a part was missing. El tried to flip the destroyed car in the mall to the part they needed, the very car she used as a bowling ball earlier to knock down a bunch of Russians. Eddie's sister was a badass, and she was also exhausted. Of course, that's when mind flayer possessed Billy Hargrove showed up along with the flesh monster. Nancy emptied a gun that she looted from a Russian on Billy's incoming car, which was hot, by the way, but then Steve came out of nowhere in the bright yellow car. He plowed into Billy's blue one, looking just as hot as Nancy did. Once back inside, Eddie did everything he could do to protect the kids from Billy himself while the others worked above them to destroy the Mind Flayer's flesh monster with fireworks. Of course, the other man had supernatural strength and kicked Eddie's ass with each punch. Once Billy got his hands wrapped around his throat, it was lights out for Eddie. Literally. When he woke up, his own blood had pooled into his mouth, and he turned over to cough it up. He saw Max crying over her stepbrother's body, and Eddie cursed. He hated the guy, but that kid shouldn't have had to see that. He felt hands on his back. He turned to find Steve and Nancy looming above him.
"Did we - did the machine get destroyed?" Eddie croaked.
"Yeah," Nancy said sadly, her eyes filled with tears.
"Who - who else died?" Eddie asked as they helped him up.
"Hopper," Steve said, his own eyes filling up with tears.
It was like a punch to the stomach, and suddenly, all of his interactions with Hopper came into focus. One of the rare adults who looked at him and didn't see his old man. The last words he had said to Eddie played over and over again in his mind. Take care of your sister.
"El," Eddie gasped.
He pushed past both of them and past two soldiers, carrying a gurney to wheel Billy's body out. Eddie stumbled into the parking lot filled with large military like vehicles and helicopters. He spotted El clinging to Joyce, and the woman pulled away to point El towards Eddie. She sobbed and started limping towards him. Eddie met her halfway and pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly. Her body shook with sobs as she cried into his chest, and he couldn't help but think of the day his mother died. It wasn't his father who comforted him but his Uncle Wayne, and he remembered him holding him just like this at Lizzie's funeral. Eddie cupped the back of El's head just like Wayne did for him. Joyce suddenly came up to him.
"Eddie, your uncle is here," Joyce said softly.
Just as she said that, Wayne approached them, looking frantic.
"I was at work, and I had this funny feeling, so I left to check on you. That's when I saw the helicopters heading here. Who the hell did this to you?" Wayne asked.
"That's a long story," Eddie said. "But first. . .El, this is our uncle Wayne. Uncle Wayne, this is my half-sister, El."
"There's no doubt that she is," Wayne said, smiling softly. "Is she okay?"
"Her adopted father, Chief Hopper, he died in the fire trying to get us out," Eddie said.
"You are hurt," El realized, pulling back to look at him. "Hospital."
"No, sweetheart, I think I'm good," Eddie said.
"Yeah, I don't think Nancy or Robin is going to take no for an answer," Steve said, coming up behind him. "The guy up there said not to worry about the hospital bills. Apparently, they've got it covered."
"I go with you," El said firmly.
"Are you sure about that, sweetheart?" Eddie asked.
"Yes," she replied.
"Oh, I got my keys back from the Russians," Steve said, dangling the keys with a smile.
"You got your keys back from the what?" Wayne asked.
"Never mind that, Uncle Wayne!" Eddie exclaimed. "Hospital!"
Wayne, El, and Eddie drove off in Wayne's truck while the others rode in Steve's. As they pulled out of the parking lot, Eddie felt a heavy weight fall upon him as he thought about all that occurred. He never thought that life could get worse than before, but boy, he had sure been wrong. As El fell asleep against his shoulder, he thought how odd it was that life could bring both joy and pain into one's life all at the same time. What was going to happen next?

Would you do a story about Steve with a fem curvy ready and they have a daddy/little relationship and she is super cuddly with him when they are in a group cause she's shy? I don't see a lot who write for little space so happy I came across your blog
You didn't specify if you wanted this to be smutty so I'll just default to fluff! It's been a bit since I wrote nonsexual little space so it's subpar in my opinion. Also Nancy is ooc.
It wasn't your first time meeting Steve's friends but it never gets any easier. He assures you it will as you get to know them better and find they're genuinely kind people. They even seem to like you!
Steve is a natural caretaker for the group and has been for some time now. But that's something everyone knows. However, few know of the truly special relationship you and Steve have. Robin and Eddie being the only two that know how you sweetly call him, "daddy."
It's one of those moments that have been building all day. Steve was paying the most attention to you knowing how shy you are. Doting and fussing over you was a normal occurrence. And so was the gentle way he would call you for all to hear, "Princess."
There was almost no chance that you wouldn't have slipped into little space with his coddling. But he, even with all his attention on you, was oblivious to your slip into it. Cuddled up on his lap trapped by his arms while a scary movie played.
Slowly you spoke less and less until you could no longer speak. Your small hand was fisted into his shirt and your face was smashed in his neck, the movie was scary. Too scary for someone so small.
Nancy spoke first and with irritation tainting her usually understanding voice, "Can you guys, please, stop making out? Maybe sit next to each other?"
And that's all it took for your plush body to begin shaking as fat tears pooled in Steve's neck. Your sniffles and soft sobs filled the already tense air. The movie's scream is cut off when someone pauses it.
Eddie is the next to speak, "Shit! Nice going, Nancy. You know Princess is sensitive so why the fuck are you starting shit?"
"I didn't mean to make her cry! I just didn't- I thought they were- and the movie-"
This shouldn't have made you cry and Steve knows this. He thinks back to how you've acted all day and it finally makes sense. He needs to take care of you and wipe your tears.
"Baby, hey- come on. Look at me." A pause and once he sees you disobeying his gentle guidance, "Don't make daddy repeat himself." Steve's voice is still gentle but there's a notable sternness that requires your obedience. Your pretty teary eyes gaze up at him as your lips pout.
"Daddy?" Johnathan whispers to no one.
"It's a thing, don't judge." Robin speaks up for the two of you and Eddie gives an affirming nod.
"Good girl, keep looking at me with those pretty doll eyes. Can you use your big girl words and tell daddy what's wrong?" His larger warm hand rubs soothing strokes down your back. And when you shake your head no he holds you tighter, "You need to breathe, princess. And when you're all calm I'll take you home for proper cuddles and we'll watch your favorite movie."
With Steve's reassuring attention and Robin giving you some fruit snacks you calm. Still in little space Steve packs your stuff up as Eddie distracts you with a story. At the door, you in Steve's strong arms his friends bid good bye.
"I don't really know what happened but I'm sorry for my part in it." Nancy promises herself to ask follow up questions later.
"We don't judge, man. Or at least I don't." Argyle takes a hit from the couch and coughs out, "Night!"
It's later, in bed with you wearing a cute little pink nighty and frilly white socks. Steve reads you a bed time story as he gently pets your head. Softly slipping into sleep under Steve's care.

Perfect To Love Part 14
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Harrington x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: fluff, mentions of bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, angst, trust issues, language.
Summary: Beth Walker was used to living in the shadows. She had only one friend and anyone else who paid her mind usually bullied her for her size. So she learned to keep her mouth shut, her head down, and her heart closed because she had to accept the fact that she would be nothing more than the fat girl to people. That is until Robin decides Beth needs more in life and that might just include a boy who she never would’ve thought could see her for who she truly was.
word count: 2,848
Part 13 ←→ Part 15
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Neither Alan or Allie fought Beth when she said she wasn’t going to school that morning. After all it was the day before Thanksgiving break so how much could she really be missing? So they both left for work, leaving Beth alone in her bed to stare out at the small inch of snow that covered the earth. It would probably melt and return a few times until winter completely swallowed them whole, but for now she would be heartbroken while the earth froze and for some reason that thought made her somewhat content.
Steve had called Robin in a panic, telling her that he had tried to call Beth only to be told she didn't want to talk to him. Robin had tried to call herself only for Allie to inform her of the same thing. She tried to recall ay moment, maybe something that happened at school that could make Beth shut them out, but she came up completely short. She assured Steve that it could be something else bothering her entirely and she would talk to her tomorrow. But when Beth didnt show up for school Robin found herself worrying more and more that maybe it was something that she did.
“She’s not here” Robin grumbled once she was sat in the front seat of Steve’s BMW his head on a swivel, searching each of the Escorts in the parking lot in hope to find hers.
“Something has to be wrong” Steve finally said and Robin sighed as she leaned back in the seat. She wasn’t used to being shut out.
“Obviously Steve, any clue what it could be?” she didn’t mean to sound so rude but the sarcasm and annoyance was unavoidable while she stressed about her friend.
“Not a thought” he muttered, eyes still scanning the parking lot in hopes she’d appear.
“What’d you do?” both of the teenagers jumped as Dustin appeared in the back seat of the car, slamming the door shut behind him.
“Jesus Dustin, what do you even mean?” Steve asked, a hand over his heart as he tried to calm its pace.
"Beth didn't show up to free period with me and Eddie and she would never miss school. So what did you do?" Dustin accused, pointing at Steve and ready to skin him alive for any wrong doing to his new friend.
"Nothing, I dont know. Me and Robin both called last night and her Mom said she didn't want to talk to us. We're just as confused as you" Steve defended himself but Dustin wasn’t fully convinced.
"Well we better figure it out before she goes to New York for Thanksgiving" Dustin said leaning back in the seat and buckling himself in. Confused looks plastered across both the older friends faces and Dustin almost rolled his eyes.
"She's going away?" Steve started to ask because he felt like this was something he should have known but maybe he just missed it, forgot. No way he could've forgotten.
"Look we'll worry about that later but I have a plan, drive to Beth's" Robin said and Steve obeyed, shifting the car into gear, and taking off down the roads covered in a soft layer of white snow. They all were relieved to see the Escort in the driveway but neither of her parents vehicles.
After a mostly silent ride, everyone experiencing different thoughts over this disappearing act Beth had pulled. Steve racked his brain and hated to admit that his thoughts always went back to Colin. He probably said something and ruined it, upset her, and he was fully prepared to kill him if need be. Robin worried that she got scared, scared of being with Steve, and not thinking she was good enough, and she was ready to prove her wrong. Where Dustin fully stood behind the fact the two idiots had done something whether it was intentional or not.
"So what's this masterplan?" Steve asked nervously, stomach doing somersaults over the fact she was just inside.
"This" Robin said as she grabbed a stack of books from her bag. "It's Beth work for over break, I collected it for her so I had an excuse to come here"
"Genius!" Steve praised and Dustin rolled his eyes. They were definitely both idiots.
"Look give me just a minute and then I'll give you guys a signal to join me" Robin said and they both nodded as she slipped out the car and into the cold. They watched as she stood on the porch, raising a nervous hand to ring the doorbell.
Beth groaned audibly as she heard the doorbell ring throughout the house. Quickly she tugged on a hoodie as she rushed down the stairs to see who from her mothers church group she'd have to turn away. Yet when she glanced through the peephole she was met with her twitchy and nervous friend Robin. Ex friend. "I don't want to talk to you"
"I'm not here to talk" Robin said after flinching from the response her friend had given her.
"Robin, you always have something to say" Beth sighed out, almost so quietly through the door she didn't hear it.
"Beth I have your school work, I'm worried about you, that's all" Robin counter offered and Beth pressed her forehead aginst the door wishing she would’ve just let whoever rang the doorbell go away.
"Just leave it on the porch, please" Beth said sounding a bit strangled from trying to fight off the tears that were burning to come out.
"Beth what did I do, why are you shutting me out?" Robin ignored her request and Steve and Dustin both noticed she was talking to the closed door, only assuming Beth was on the other side.
"Just leave it Robin" Beth finally cried out and Robin sighed as she leaned to set the stack of books at the foot of the door. Steve hit the steering wheel as he watched Robin retreat back to the car and jump inside to escape the cold.
"Let me try" Dustin said, pushing himself out of the back seat before Steve could ask what had happened. Dustin wrapped his arms around himself, the wind pushing his hat back slightly as he approached the door. He was about to ring the doorbell when he still heard Beth's soft cries on the other side.
"Beth, what’s wrong?" he called out and Beth gasped slightly at the sound of Dustin's voice, backing away from the door so he couldn't hear her.
"Nothing Dustin, don't worry about it, please" she called back and Dustin sighed as he tried to keep from shivering in the cold.
"We're all so worried about you" he said and Beth felt more tears burn at her eyes because choosing to leave behind Steve and Robin included everyone else including this sweet young boy who had become such a good friend to her. That thought broke her heart even more as she considered that in the friend divorce they would all get the kids she had come to know and love.
"I know Dustin, and you're the best for checking on me. I just need to be alone" and before Dustin could respond he heard her footsteps rushing up the stairs. The pair in the car watched his shoulders drop as he returned to the car himself after another failed attempt.
"That was a bust" Dustin said as he closed himself into the warmth of the vehicle. Steve's heater working over time. "She ran back upstairs before I could say anything else"
"Robin which room is hers?" Steve questioned and Robin gave him a confused look before pointing to the left window above the canopy of the porch. "I'll be back"
"Wait Steve, dont get hurt!' Robin called after him but he slammed the drivers side door shut while ignoring her. Dustin leaned forward to watch as Steve jogged up the porch. As if he had done this a hundred times before he was swigning a leg to stand on the rail. He used one of the beams to keep balance as he stood up, twisting his body to grip the edge of the canopy, and begin to pull himself up. Steve had always been strong because of swimming and basketball and now he was strong from staying in shape to fight monsters. Thankfully it came in handy as he finally got majority of his body on the canopy and he was able to walk across and face her window.
Before he tapped on the glass he saw her curled in bed, the room dark as she shook with tears and his heart broke. He wanted to know what he had done, what they could do to fix it. Giving in he tapped on the glass just to see her jump before looking at him with a tear stained face. Beth went against her better judgment and stood to open the window. Steve couldn’t help but smile as she revealed herself to him as he sat crouched out her window. "You're gonna get hurt"
"It was worth the risk" he told her and she sighed, using the sleeve of her hoodie to wipe her face clean of tears. "Can I come in?"
"I don't think you should" she responded and he tried to hide his disppoitnent in her response. Sighing he leaned closer into the window, heart accelerating at how beautiful her hazel eyes looked. So clear from the tears she had let fall. Beth wished he didn't look so handsome himself, hair fluffy and lashes covered in soft snowflakes. She wanted to kiss each one of them away.
"Why are you shutting us out?" Steve asked and Beth sighed, more tears fighting to come to her eyes. He wanted to reach out to her, hold her, but he was worried he’d scare her away.
"I stopped into Family Video yesterday" Steve gave her a confused look, clealry recalling she hadn't been there because she had work herself. Then it dawned on him that him and Robin had been talking about her at work, talking about their plan, that she had been using the back door lately. The exact one he knew you could hear crystal clear through because he had done it himself.
“Oh Beth, you don't understand-" but Beth was holding up her hand, stopping his defense because she didn't want to hear anymore bullshit from either of them.
"Did you know Colin told me he had feelings for me?” Steve was confused again as he let these words sink in. "He told me he hated himself for being attracted to me when everyone else bullied me for being ugly and do you want to know what I said to him?"
"What?" Steve whispered, never have seeing Beth this angry before. It was like he had pushed her past the sad part and now she was just frustrated.
"I told him I ended up with you because you got to know me without someone asking you too, and that made all the difference" Steve sucked in a sharp breath as she told him this, realizing that in a way they had done her wrong. The intentions were pure but maybe she was right. Maybe Steve would have never looked at her without Robin asking him too.
"Beth, please let me explain" she was shaking her head and Steve felt his heart collapse because she had already decided he wasn't worth it. Just like everyone else did.
“I don’t need an explanation Steve. I get it. Robin is your friend and maybe you have changed, it’s not your fault you can’t be attracted to me. You were just being a good friend to Robin” Beth said and Steve realized she had it all wrong. Robin may have asked him to spend time with her but falling for her was all him.
“That’s not it” he started to shake his head but the look she gave him made him stop.
“Please, I can’t be hurt by you again. Let me go” and as Steve went to open his mouth and stop her again she was sliding the window close, clicking the lock, and shutting the curtains. He let out a defeated sigh as she completley shut him out and tears began to rim his eyes. He was angry and hurt for her. He thought he had changed but maybe he didn’t because if he did he would've given Beth a chance and not just now but on that first day of freshman year.
Carefully he made his way back down the canopy and onto the porch where he jogged to his car now that he was completley frozen through. Robin and Dustin looked at him curiously as he settled in his seat, cheeks red and bitten from the cold. He took a moment to absorb the heat, keeping his eyes forward because he was pretty sure he was about to cry and he didn't want them to see that. He didn't want to be pitied because this was his karma, he deserved it for being an asshole all of those years. He was no better than his father, Tommy, Carol, or the rest of the assholes at that school.
"Well, did you see her?" Robin questioned and Steve sighed, glancing out the window to blink away the tears that came to his eyes.
"She came to Family Video yesterday" he said but it didn’t occur to Robin as quickly as it did Steve.
"No she didn't we had a dead shift, we spent majority of it putting away tapes and talking" Robin argued but Steve finally turned and gave her a pointed look.
"And what were we talking about Robin?" again she looked confused but then it dawned on her, realization covering her features.
"She thinks I made you do it, and you were pretending" Robin said and Steve nodded as she buried her face in her hands.
"Do what?" Dustin asked from the back seat but he went ignored.
"She's upet because she thinks I was using her and she's upset that you put her in that position" Steve said rubbing his hands together to regain some warmth.
"Oh God, did you try to explain that it wasn't like that?" Robin asked, heart now aching because she truly was the reason her friend was hurt and now she was no better than all those other kids that had hurt Beth all these years.
"Yeah but she didn't want to hear it. She told me Colin admitted to having feelings for her, that he hated himself for feeling that way, and she told him that the reason we ended up together is because I got to know her without someone asking me too" as Robin gasped Dustin started to piece together what exactly they were talking about.
"Robin you made Steve hang out with Beth?" Dustin whispered and they both turned back to look at him, uneasy looks on their face.
"It wasn't like that, I wanted Steve to get to know her and I figured if people saw Steve with her they'd give her a break. We planned nothing else, we swear" Robin told him and Dustin fell back into the seat with an annoyed chuckle.
"She has every right to be mad you guys, you used her. Your intentions may have been good but what if Steve didn't like her, he was pretending the whole time, and she found that out. That is so shitty of both of you. Of you doing it to her and Steve for going along" Dustin said as he began the shake his head, now angry with both of them too.
"I didn't think of it like that when we first planned it" Robin said, tears now rimming her eyes as well because she broke her best friends heart. That was all her.
"You shouldn’t of planned anything, you could've just brought her to movie night with no plan in place and hoped for the best" Dustin said now looking out the window and away from either of them. He had warned Steve not to hurt her and he loved his friends but he began to love Beth too. Now he was going to lose her because all of them were idiots.
"Let's just give her space, maybe when she gets back we can reach out again and apologize" Steve said putting the car into reverse as Robin quietly cried in the front seat. He was trying not to cry himself, driving through blurry vision because he had hurt beth whether he intended to or not and now Dustin was mad at him.
"If it's any consolation Dustin I did fall for her, whether it was intentional or not" he said as he drove in the direction of his house and Dustin just grunted in response because he knew Steve was telling the truth but that didn't change what had happened.
After all how do you convince the girl who thought she could never be loved that you really did fall for her?

Y'all i just know eddie munson can DANCE. Like, he's a musician, he's got rhythm, that boy can move. And the day steve finds out about this, his brain fucking shuts down.
Maybe he ends up at a club with eddie, nancy, and robin. Because robin had come to eddie one day after she and nancy got together and she'd just been talking to him about how she wished she could be with nancy in a public place and not have to worry. And eddie, ever the sweetheart was like "well i know a place you could go. I can take you guys if you want?" So he takes them to an lgbt friendly bar he knows down town. And sometimes they go by themselves but mostly its the girls and eddie, he's their "creep buffer" on the dance floor. And even they had been like "holy shit" when they saw him dancing.
But one day Eddie's in the video store and he's checking out and just nonchalantly says "im picking you up at 8 tomorrow right?" And robins just like "yep! And nancy might already be at mine. If not we'll have to grab her too" and eddie of course just like "yeah no problem" and steve is just standing there like ".....um... hello???? What's happening?" So they invite him too.
And he's nervous when eddie picks him up, eddie opens his fucking door for him. Says something about the passenger door sticking, but it looked fine to steve.
And then steve sees him dancing with the girls and just, stops functioning. He's staring, he knows this, cannot get his eyes to move away from eddie. Steve's sitting at their table, not really a dancer, at least not in public. And eddie comes back to the table, to chug the rest of his beer. And Steve is STILL staring. And eddie just stands there, looking at him as he sets his glass down slowly.
"Why is everyone always so suprised i can dance?" Eddie says, prompted by nothing steve can figure out. Steve shrugs, his mouth is dry, if he tried to swallow right now he swears he'd just hear a sad clicking sound. Eddie shakes his head as Steve keeps staring.
"Just cuz it's not my kinda music doesn't mean i can't dance to it Harrington." Eddie jokes, steve doesn't react, well he blinks, twice, maybe three times. Eddie blinks back and then...
He leans down, palms flat on the table, getting into Steve's space (but not close enough goddamn it). And he's like "better watch it, starin like that. Might give a guy the wrong idea." And he winks, and he grins but its... shy. And then he's gone. Back out on the dance floor dancing literal circles around robin and nancy, making sure no one unsavory gets too close.
And maybe eddie gets them all anotber round of beers, and he's sitting next to steve as they all rest at the table. Then nancys favorite song comes on and robin drags her away again and eddie just looks at steve, holds his hand out subtly by his thigh and is like "you wanna?" And tilts his head toward the crowd of dancing people. And steve flushes down to his chest and shakes his head. Eddie nods, smiles, and goes after robin and nancy, steve doesn't miss the disappointment in his eyes when he looks back at steve over his shoulder.
And then a slow song comes on. One steve actually knows, and kind of likes. He watches Robin and Nancy move together, swaying to the soft music, sees eddie heading for the table again, not wanting to dance alone to a slow song. His head is hung, his shoulders drooping a bit and that decides it. Steve stands quickly and walks to eddie, determined.
He bumps into Eddie, sliding his hands down his arms gently and grabbing Eddie's hands. He tugs him back toward robin and nancy a bit and then moves Eddie's hands so they're around his neck. Eddie gasps when Steve holds his waist. Steve hasn't looked at him yet, he's trying to focus on moving normally while being so close to eddie. Eddie's fingers snake into the hair at the nape of his neck and steve sighs, relaxing a bit and letting eddie move them a bit more.
"Thought you didn't wanna dance." Eddie whispers, and steve looks up at him and is fucking floored by the look on Eddie's face. His eyes are wide, open, and he looks so goddamn fond that Steve's pretty sure his knees are gonna buckle. He presses his fingers into Eddie's waist gently, worring at his shirt.
"Changed my mind." Steve mumbles, his eyes dropping away from Eddie's face and then moving right back up to see that beautiful bright smile of his.
"Im glad." Eddie moves closer, one hand pushing up into Steve hair more, the other draped across his shoudlers as he holds Steve close, swaying side to side. Steve's brain isn't functioning, there are no thoughts at all in his head, the only sort of coherent thing he can think is Eddie's name. So he just wraps his arms tighter around Eddie's waist and lets him move them around the dance floor.
Steve goes with them to the club everytime after that. And if it takes him a few more weeks to gather the courage to actually dance with eddie when the music's fast, eddie isn't complaining, slow dancing with steve is always the highlight of his evening. Shit, the highlight of his fucking week. And if it takes steve another week after that, to finally ask eddie if he can kiss him one night when he's dropping eddie off at home, well, the soft look in Eddie's eyes when he nods and takes a step closer to steve, is definitely worth the wait.

Blind Trust OC Interview!
I got tagged by @mk-writes-stuff, and this sounded like fun so I'm down!
I've been thinking of an upcoming plot thread where I delve into Scott and Edgar's friendship as children, so I'll be answering as both of them at that age (so, like, 4-8). It'll be good practice to write their kid personalities.
Enjoy some casual conversations between two very different children who love each other very much.
(edit: this turned out way longer than i expected it to be but it's very cute in my brain so i'm letting it happen. i also tag @ivaspinoza and @rkmoon and @thegreatbeargod-writes if they're down!)
Are you named after anyone?
Scott: I'm named after my dad! My dad's name was Scott so now my name is Scott. Mom says that if I decide I want to change it she can help me, but I don't think I will. I might be a girl named Scott and I think that's cool because then I can still tell people about how important my dad was!
Eddie: I think - um. I'm sorry, I'm not sure. I think there was a little boy named Edgar in a children's book I used to have. I don't know if that's right, though. I'm sorry.
Scott: You know sometimes people aren't named after anybody. Sometimes you just get a name off a list. Sometimes you make up special new names to give to kids when they're born.
Eddie: I think Edgar was already a name before me.
Scott: Maybe.
When was the last time you cried?
Scott: This morning! I thought about a duck I saw in the river last year that was smaller than the other ducks and couldn't swim as fast. But its little duck family made sure to wait for it to catch up. It was really nice.
Eddie: You told me about that last night.
Scott: Yeah, it made you cry too.
Eddie: I'm sorry.
Scott: No, it makes sense! It's really beautiful. It's important.
Do you have kids?
Scott: I read in one of my dad's books that I might not be able to have kids myself, and it made me really sad because I thought it meant I wouldn't be able to have a family. But then mom told me - well, she explained a lot of things I didn't really get. I think it just meant that I was wrong before, and if I want I can have a really big family when I'm older.
Eddie: How big?
Scott: Probably a hundred. They can be kids and uncles and aunts and cousins and friends and dogs -
Eddie: You'd need a really big house.
Scott: Don't worry. We'll find one.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Scott: I'm not really good at telling when people are being sarcastic. I don't understand how it's different than lying. I think it's a special kind of lying that everyone knows about but me. And that's kind of hard, but I think it's probably okay!
Eddie: It's not good when people are mean.
Scott: Some people feel like they have to be, I think.
Eddie: Why?
Scott: I don't know. But it must be hard for them.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Eddie: I'm - well - I can tell if someone's going to be a bad person pretty quickly.
Scott: Wow.
Eddie: It's not really...it's hard to explain. Bad people - grownups, usually - get a look. In their eyes? Sometimes other people don't see it, but I do. I'm...really good at it.
Scott: That's amazing. Like a superpower!
What’s your eye colour?
Eddie: Scott's eyes are blue like, um...the sky in summer after I wake up from a nightmare.
Scott: Oh man.
Eddie: Okay it's your turn.
Scott: Um. Right. I - Eddie has brown eyes. Like...hang on, let me think. Like dirt? Yeah. Good, soft dirt. Mine's not as good as yours was.
Eddie: No, I liked it. I like soft dirt. Thank you.
Scary movies or happy endings?
Scott: I'm not allowed to watch scary movies because some of my older cousins put on Jurassic Park and I cried so hard I threw up.
Eddie: It is pretty scary, I think.
Scott: They say the dinosaurs aren't even real.
Eddie: Yeah.
Scott: How'd they get them to work on the movie, then?
Eddie: I think they made them up. With - uh - technology. Like a special effect.
Scott: Is Air Bud a special effect?
Eddie: I...I'm not sure.
Scott: I prefer Air Bud.
Eddie: I do too, I think.
Any special talents?
Eddie: Um, Scott is really, really good at the piano -
Scott: Eddie knows everything about every bird.
Eddie: Oh no. Oh no, Scott, that's not true.
Scott: Quick, name the best bird.
Eddie: That's not - Scott, that isn't really -
Scott: Come on I bet you know.
Eddie: American Goldfinch.
Scott: I knew it.
Where were you born?
Scott: I was born in Bluerose, Oregon!
Eddie: I was born in the Shreveport Academy in Louisiana.
Scott: That's really far away.
Eddie: Yeah. Yes. It is.
Scott: It doesn't feel far at all when I talk to you at night.
Eddie: ...No. I guess it doesn't.
Do you have any pets?
Scott: I'm friends with all the farm cats in town. Sometimes they'll follow me around to make sure I get home okay.
Eddie: That's nice of them.
Scott: You should talk about your pet!
Eddie: I don't have a pet.
Scott: There's that lizard in your yard.
Eddie: Oh, the skink? I'm not sure if that counts.
Scott: You named him Buster.
Eddie: I did. His name is Buster.
Scott: I like that. Buster seems nice.
What sort of sports do you play?
Eddie: I'm on the Academy little league team, but I'm not very good at soccer.
Scott: I don't play any sports, but I like to skateboard. It makes it a lot easier to get around town.
Eddie: Can you do any tricks?
Scott: Sometimes I can almost do a kickflip but if I keep practicing I think I can learn how to do a hardflip.
Eddie: What's that?
Scott: It's - different. It's cooler.
How tall are you?
Eddie: Short. I wish I was taller.
Scott: Why? I like that I'm short.
Eddie: Sure, but you might be a girl. It's okay if girls are short.
Scott: Well if you keep being a boy, I don't mind if you grow up to be short.
Eddie: I'll...probably get a little taller when I'm older.
Scott: Oh! That works for me too.
What was your favourite subject in school?
Scott: Eddie's really smart. He tells me all about his homework and tests and it all sounds really important.
Eddie: i don't really think school is fun, though. And you're smart, Scott. You're really smart.
Scott: I think science is neat.
Eddie: I thought there were only three types of matter -
Scott: No there are so many.
Eddie: Yeah, you're the one that told me about that.
Scott: Time crystals.
Eddie: Which one is that?
Scott: I can't remember. But they're there.
What is your dream job?
Scott: I want to be a professional zookeeper. And I would be friends with all the animals and take care of them.
Eddie: And you'd play the piano too, right?
Scott: Sure, but that won't be my job. That's just something I'd do for you and our family.
Eddie: Oh. Hah! Okay.
Scott: What about you, Eddie?
Eddie: Uh. Maybe I could be a Scout Leader. Like in the Boy Scouts!
Scott: You can take them to the zoo and - and I can tell them about anteaters.
Eddie: I'd like that.

oh my God healthy mother alert
Cw: hateful speech (homophobic, classism, cheating parents, ableist rhetoric ie learning in a classroom setting) it's not healthy but for once I wrote about a good mother son relationship. Don't worry I'll make it up next time😌
Steve and Eddie come back late from a date and unfortunately Steve's parents' car is there in the driveway. Steve feels so fucking cold and Eddie takes a deep breath and looks to him. "Wait here." Steve says, holding up a hand. He already knew Eddie was willing to come with him. At Eddie's face, Steve smiles, warm but terrified. "I'd rather deal with them alone. Don't worry sweetheart, keep the car warm." He winks and slides out the car, keeping it running just in case.
Eddie is sitting in the dark, minutes drag by and his legs are getting tired from bouncing around. Eventually Eddie sucks his teeth. "Fuck it." He climbs out of the car, careful to leave the door open in case they need to run. Or worse, walk slowly and hold themselves together. Steve was always talking about how exhausting his parents are. A nice way of saying they sucked, as far as Eddie's emotional translator was concerned.
He walked up to the house, carefully and quietly. Not that it would have done any good, he could hear Steve's father from outside. "....enough that it's a man but does it have to be that man? He's a fuck up in school Steve. He can't even graduate, it's just memorizing answers at this point he can't even do that right!" Well fuck. Ow. Eddie pantomimed pulling a dagger from his heart, trying not to giggle. Weak sauce insults were a dime a dozen. He's heard worse from 12 year old girls. Steve made a disgusted sound. "Dad you only got your first job because your father blew the old boss. We all know it." Eddie's knees almost gave out. Fuck his baby knew how to take it AND give it. "Besides, whenever I asked you for help you always told me to ask mom. Looks like you need a refresher, huh? And anyways it doesn't take a genius to make coffee you said? You broke the first two coffee makers I bought you for Christmas!"
Eddie was going to rawdog Steve the second he got his hands on him. Maybe he could convince him to do it on the driveway. Steve's dad interrupted Eddie's frankly fantastic imagination. "All we ask is for you to do well enough to get in the business and take over. Get a wife. Hell we'll find you one! But you have to go after that sick murderer! We're doing this for your own good. For the family's good." Steve scoffed. "If you have a shit about my well-being you should have been here instead of banging your secretary. Family good, my ass." Eddie grinned and made a face. Fuck Steve was so hot when he was being mean.
From this angle he could see both Steve and his dad look over at a woman that frankly, was far to gorgeous to be married to that guy. She held up a hand and Eddie swallowed another laugh, Steve looked just like her. "I've heard enough. I've just had a 12 hour flight. I've been wearing shoes that would make Madonna cry in sympathy. I'm tired and I don't want to hear anymore. Steve." And his baby looked seconds from crying. "Steve did I ever tell you I had a girlfriend in high school?" WHAT? WHAT? HUH? EXCUSE ME? Eddie's jaw broke off and bounced somewhere over where Steve's must've. "Mom. What? Like a girl space friend or a." At this Steve made a wiggle with some finger scissor. Eddie took it back, he was going to teach Steve some decorum on the driveway.
His mother just smiled. "Sweetheart I would never get mad at you for dating who you wanted. Besides I know about the secretary. Who do you think told me?" At this she made a sly wink and Eddie was going to eat out two Harringtons in his life or his name isn't Edward Munson. Joking. Mostly. Steve's father was fit to burst. "But dear, our boy is shacking up with the Munson boy! It's just not right!" His mother snapped her finger and both men stood up straight. Interesting, good to know Steve can be obedient, Eddie thought. He had to learn how to snap though.
"I've heard your complaints, dear." The word dear coming out more like a mocking thing rather than endearing. "I'm refusing to hear them. I won't have our boy, our son, trapped in some worthless, emotionless well like ours. Steve as far as I'm concerned, you're fine. All is well." She pointed at her husband. "Don't make me disgrace you with a formal divorce." She snapped when it looked like he was going to protest. "The fact that I still have your last name is vile enough, I have enough stakes in the company to keep me well fed, I will do it. And I'll take your pretty little secretary with me."
Steve looked proud, intrigued, and a little grossed out. "Mom I really. Really don't want to hear about your sex lives." At this, she looked a little considerate. "You're right. It's inappropriate. Anyway, go bring your boyfriend in, that concrete can't be good for his knees." They all looked up and Steve smiled. Eddie had hid his upper body well behind some plants but the entire lower half of his body was out to see. He waved his fingers and walked in. "Uh. Hi. Hi, Steve's mom. Steve's dad." His mother looked amused and Steve was smiling, clear adoration in his eyes. His father looked. Embarrassed. Good.
"I'll skip the small talk. If my son comes to me upset in any way, and I find out you had anything to do with it, nothing, no one, and nowhere would keep you safe from me. Understand?" Steve's mom leaned back, looking relaxed and regal all at once. "Yes ma'am." Eddie promised. "You better graduate." Steve's dad interjected. "Can it." Steve threw back. And he took Eddie's hand. "Come on." He dragged Eddie back out to the car. "You can't have a boner in front of my parents dude." Steve hissed when they sat in. "Oh shit." Eddie murmured and Steve's head hit the steering wheel.

I LOVE HOW THIS TURNED OUT
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson had his beliefs and refused to change them. He was stubborn and hard headed. Quick to be defensive and claim he is always right. Even if that meant putting his pride in front of his relationship with his girlfriend.
"Eddie it's just this is my last performance of the season and you haven't been to a single one since we got together. I know you hate sports, the jocks, and the atmosphere but can't you do it for me, just this once?"
The same argument again. The couple have been fighting about Eddie going to one performance, just one, before her cheerleading season ended. Always hurting when all the cheerleaders smiled at their boyfriends who watched in the crowd, Y/N wanted that. She wanted to feel supported too.
"I don't get why we have to fight about this. I told you I hate being around those people. And I have hellfire tonight, I can't just cancel that for your dance." He scoffed, arms crossing in a defensive manner. Arguing quietly in the hallway while the rest of the school was in class or the lunch room.
"it's not a dance! It's a performance, which you wouldn't know since you never bother to come." She spat, her own arms crossing in front of her. "look I get it, the jocks are assholes and treat you like crap. But I've been doing my best to make them leave you alone. All the girls on my team adore us because you make me happy. They even ask for you to come. Do you know how embarrassing it is to watch every boyfriend in the crowd cheering for them? They all have someone to look for in the crowd, someone to smile at and run to when the game is done? I have no one out there Eddie! I'm the only one left on the court once we are done." She explained, trying her hardest to keep her tears in her eyes. She could not ruin the make up she spent hours doing for her last performance.
"oh now you are being dramatic, not every girl on that team has a boyfriend sitting there." He tried to defend, ignoring the pain in his chest imagining her standing there alone, wishing for him to just be there.
But Eddie could not go against everything he believed in. He already was a hypocrite for dating a cheerleader, he couldn't break down his pride even more. Not when he preached to his sheep about the venom of popularity.
"I don't even know why I still try. Enjoy your club asshole, I'll find a ride with Chrissy." She spat, ponytail harshly swinging as she marched past him, a shove in his shoulder. Not a single word she said went through his brain, just right out of his ears. Too stubborn to even be there for her. Maybe she just needs to pull the plug on them? Was the disappointment worth it every time?
~~
Eddie sat at the lunch table, hearing the boys talk about how excited they are for the campaign, Eddie couldn't match the atmosphere.
He felt so fucking bad. The way she looked like she was going to cry when she walked past him was stuck in his head. He tried to shrug it off, focus on the campaign at hand.
~~
He couldn't, he cancelled hellfire the second all the boys walked in.
"I just don't have it in me." He sighed as he sat at his throne.
The boys watched their leader placing his head in his hand, obviously in distress.
"that's fine Eddie. Take the time you need. We'll just go watch the game? Lucas is playing! Plus it's Y/N's final game." Dustin said excitedly, he's secretly been dying to watch her perform, hellfire always landed the same days as games so he never got to see her.
When Eddie first dated her, Dustin was the most supportive. He didn't give a shit if Eddie liked a cheerleader after all the talk he preached. She was different, it was easy to tell.
Eddie's head snapped up at her name.
"you want to watch my girlfriend?" Eddie questioned.
"duh! I've been dying to see the routines she's made. They sound totally badass but it's always the same as hellfire nights so I never got to go." Dustin shrugged. Having no idea his words were stabbing Eddie even deeper in his heart.
The boys raced out of the room, heading to the gym to catch the game and apparently Y/N's performance.
Eddie truly was the only one who still held on to his words of the popular world. His club didn't even give a shit he was dating a cheerleader, all excited to watch her perform. Now he felt like even more of an ass. Simply refusing to watch her because he was scared of what his club would think of him for going back on his words. An excuse that had no truth behind it.
~~
The boys found the only open spot on the bleachers, quickly filling it with their bodies.
Mike, Gareth, and Jeff quickly searching for Lucas but Dustin was searching for Y/N.
A huge smile on his face when she spotted her stretching, head down not bothering to look at the crowd. Dustin waited for her to look up just once so he could wave, but she never did.
By the time Eddie quit his pity party he got up, collecting his backup and walking to the gym. He walked in the doorway, searching for an open seat but the gym was packed completely. He sighed and leaned against the wall. Maybe if he was a good boyfriend and showed up on time, he'd have a seat.
Eddie realized he was catching the end of the game. The cheerleaders were finishing their last routine. Eddie felt even more like shit, he missed the whole thing except for the final damn flip. Truly never once seeing his girlfriend do something she loved. He watched her closely, a smile of hers usually fixed everything. But the smile she had wasn't real, it looked fake and painful. He could see her blinking rapidly, a sign she was holding back tears. Eddie found himself blinking just as fast. Trying to ignore the burn in his throat.
He stood against the wall for the next ten minutes of what was left of the game. Once he heard the final buzzer go off, he watched as everyone cheered. Lucas was thrown in the air by the team. Eddie felt himself smile at one of his sheep getting supported, maybe the jocks weren't that horrible.
His smile quickly fell when the basketball team moved over, now seeing his girlfriend packing up her bag, alone. Eddie looked to the bleachers to see, in fact, every single cheerleader kissing their boyfriends. His shoulders somehow slumped even more, she wasn't lying. She was the only one on the team who had no one to congratulate her.
Eddie for once decided his pride wasn't worth it. He dropped his backpack on the floor, gathering as much courage as his pathetic body could manage. He went to move but stopped when he saw Dustin running to her. Hugging her from behind. He laughed a little as she jumped and screamed. "That fucker and his little crush."
~~
Feeling arms wrapped around her was the last thing she expected. She jumped and screamed as she turned around.
"OMG DUSTIN!" she screamed trapping him in a bear hug. Dustin didn't even care that she was sweaty, hugging her tighter as she hugged him harder.
She looked over Dustin's shoulder to see the rest of hellfire behind him with big smiles.
"holy shit. What are you guys doing here?" She was confused, the campaign in no way could have been finished. Eddie kept them for hours in that room.
She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face though. Her heart is warming, she had people in the crowd that came to see her.
"Eddie was in a bad mood so he cancelled, so Dustin of course said we needed to come watch Lucas but I think he wanted to see you more." Mike joked.
Y/N laughed as Dustin's cheeks flared red.
"that's adorable." She squealed kissing his cheek. His face turned even redder, completely burning.
Y/N wishes that the good feeling lasted a bit longer, because now she realized, hellfire was cancelled, the boys were here, and Eddie wasn't with them.
Dustin knew once he saw the look in her eyes change what she was thinking.
"I think he went to the bathroom." Dustin quickly lied, not wanting to hurt her more with the truth that her boyfriend never showed up.
She nodded fast, not believing a word Dustin said. She knew Eddie, and Eddie did not show up.
"well I have to go change and head home with Chrissy. Thank you guys for coming. It means a lot." She cried happily, throwing them in a group hug. Waving goodbye as she walked to the locker room.
~~
Dustin was racing out of the gym, marching to the parking lot for a specific van.
"did she ask?" Dustin jumped hearing a voice behind him, turning around to see Eddie against the school wall smoking a cigarette.
Dustin marched up and threw it on the ground.
"seriously Eddie? You are out here smoking instead of being with her?"
"I know okay? I was going to go but once I saw how happy she was when you all were there, I feel like I didn't deserve to ruin her moment."
"Eddie you wouldn't have ruined it. You would have made it better. She wanted you there. Now forget your goddamn stupid pride for one second, take out your balls, and make it up to your hot girlfriend that is way out of your league!" Dustin demanded his finger smashing right into Eddie's chest.
If Dustin wasn't saying something so true, Eddie might just have kicked his freshmen ass for talking to him that way.
But he was right, so Eddie nodded and turned to walk back into the school. His backpack was still in the gym so he walked to grab it. Stopping in his place when he saw Y/N searching the gym floor in a panic.
Eddie walked up behind her, the floor creaking underneath his sneakers.
"Chrissy did you find it? I need to find that ring. Eddie is going to kill me." She panicked, searching under every chair.
"I don't think he'd kill you. He definitely deserves to be killed though" He said. Watching her body freeze as she turned to see him standing there.
She stood up fast, dusting off her skirt. She never got to change, once she made it to the locker room she realized the necklace she wore with Eddie's ring on it was gone. The necklace she wore to every game underneath her uniform, just to have him there somewhere.
"I didn't mean to lose it." She panicked
"I don't even know which ring you are talking about. I promise it's not that big of a deal." He tried to make her feel better.
"NO IT IS A BIG DEAL. It's the only thing I have to pretend you are here with me and I need to find it " she demanded, back on her knees searching the floor.
Eddie couldn't believe how much harder each blow got in his gut. It was like watching a bomb destroy every building one by one. He was watching her fall apart more and more, all because of his pride.
He kneeled to the floor in front of her, grabbing her hands to stop her searching.
"I'm here now." He tried
She yanked her hands free
"doesn't matter now Eddie. I'm graduating and will never cheer again. At least now you won't have to listen to me fight to get you here "
He deserved that, he knew he did.
"I'm really fucking sorry." He whispered, sitting across from her.
"whatever Eddie." She said, following his actions. Sitting with her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms tightly against her legs.
"no I mean it. I have been the most shitty boyfriend ever. Hellfire should never have come before you. My pride should have never been more important than you. I fucked up and I fucked up bad, I know that. The second the boys all cheered I cancelled hellfire and went to the game, I realized I was the only one stuck on my words. None of them cared I fell in love with you. They didn't care if you were a cheerleader and that I was a huge hypocrite. It was all in my head. And I should have been here to be there for you. You deserved to feel as special as you did tonight at every game. I made it to the end. I know that doesn't count for anything. But I am so happy my boys were there for you, when I was too proud to be. I don't even deserve you to even think of keeping me around. You should honestly dump me in the most cruel way possible. Slash my tires or something." He joked, smiling on the inside when she laughed, wiping the tears that were falling down her eyes
"but if for some reason you are just as dumb as me, and still allow me to be around you. I would really love to make this up to you." He finished, hand searching for hers once again. This time she didn't move it away.
"I might just be even more dumber than you are because I love you too." She joked, pushing her shoulder against his. He laughed with her, wiping his own tears.
"doesn't mean I forgive you though. You made me feel really shitty and I need some action to back up your words."
"absolutely baby. I totally understand." He said. Relief filling his body, he has one more chance.
"if you are up for it, I have the rest of my night open. Why don't you perform every single routine you came up with for me?" He offered.
A huge smile stretched on her face
"you really want to sit here as I do over like 15 routines?" She laughed
"as long as you keep the outfit on." He winked. Another smack to his shoulder but the way she smiled warmed his heart.
He has a chance to fix it, and he wasn't going to ruin that.

Maybe I miss you a little [E. M]
Eddie Munson x fem!reader
Summary: You and Eddie broke up a long time ago, but when the going gets tough you realize it was all a mistake.
warnings: a little angst, mention of an anxiety crisis
Tumblr media
“Everyone wants to know the same thing, how can so many tragedies befall a once-peaceful town? All eyes are now on the police for answers. Is the new chief of police, Powell, in over his head? Or is he the very savior this town needs? We'll be here the rest of the day right here on channel nine, where we'll keep you posted on all the latest developments. In the meantime, we recommend you keep your doors and windows locked tight. This is Beverly Moss, signing off for…”
You couldn't stand it and just turned off the TV almost with a bang. That can’t be true.
Your attention was completely on the background of what had happened in the news; the crime scene. You'd been stuck in that old trailer too long to know it was Eddie's.
How could that have happened?
You hadn't talked to him for months, just seeing him in the halls or feeling his eyes following you, but you were sure that in this period he hadn't become a murderer.
Hell, even just thinking about it made you want to throw up.
If the news still didn't come up with names, it was because Eddie hadn't been caught yet, which was a good sign. Maybe that wasn't his trailer, maybe you were just confused and he was still asleep in his messy room and stained mattress.
But you weren't stupid either, a part of you was screaming at you for what would soon be on the news: Eddie Munson murdered a student.
Without thinking twice, you took your backpack and filled it with a couple of useful things, such as a pocket knife, and then went outside and took your bicycle. You couldn't go to the crime scene, that much was obvious, so you'd have to think of other places where Eddie might be or someone else who knew his whereabouts.
Did you remember one of those kids who sat with him at lunch, his name was Dustin? Damn, that didn't matter. You were interested in talking to him and thanks to your delivery job you knew exactly which house to go to.
You got on the bike, put on your helmet, and pedaled at full speed.
Tumblr media
It was night when you finally found the place where Eddie must have been. When you went to that kid's house (Dustin, now you knew his name) you ran into a redhead who claimed to have seen Eddie last night with Chrissy Cunningham walking into his trailer. You and Dustin adamantly refused to accept that he was capable of such a thing and then both kids took you to the movie rental site in town: Family Video.
There you met Robin and Steve, who helped you call Eddie's friends to get any clues as to where he might be. And well, that's how you ended up sneaking into the middle of nowhere, where you assumed Reefer Rick's house was, hoping he was there.
You didn't know if it was better to find him or not, because if you saw him and he confessed to being guilty you didn't know how you could live with that. Your new friends had tried to tell you a very crazy story about monsters, powers, supernatural things, and flashing lights, but you were still a bit incredulous about this theory.
You had been banging on the door, calling Eddie's and Rick's names more than once, but the house seemed to be empty. Despair was already taking over you, tormenting you with the thought that someone else was the killer and had hurt Eddie.
"Hey guys?" said the red-haired girl, whose name was Maxine. Or Max, as everyone called him. You walked up to where she was and noticed an old shed in the distance. It was perfect, if Eddie was hiding, he was surely there.
When you entered you looked for anything that would reveal human activity and huddled with the women while Steve and Dustin searched through a pile of things covered with a tarp. You didn't like this Steve at all, because he kept insisting that it was better to go to the police and let them handle everything. But going to the police meant condemning Eddie.
“Someone was here,” Max said next to you, noticing a pile of food wrappers and a bottle of beer on a table.
“Maybe I've heard us. Got spooked and ran”
“Don't worry. Steve will get him with his oar” scoffed the boy, while you kept looking with the flashlight for another kind of clue. Steve snorted and he started a complaint.
“I know you think you're being funny, but considering everyone in this room has nearly died a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slight...” his words were interrupted by a figure that came out below the canvas, which pushed him to the wall and pressed him hard against it.
As you ran over there you noticed that it was indeed Eddie.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, Eddie! Eddie! Stop!” Dustin yelled as he stopped you from trying to move forward. A second after you realized the reason; Eddie had a broken bottle in his hand and was aiming it firmly at the other boy's neck.
“Eddie! Eddie!” you yelled, speaking for the first time since you had entered the shed. He turned his head a little and you noticed on his face that he was surprised to see you there. You took advantage of the fact that you now had his attention and you went ahead a little in his direction of “It's me. It's Y/N. This is Steve. He's not gonna hurt you, right, Steve?"
"Right, yes"
“Please put that down,” you begged him quietly, referring to the bottle in his hand.
"I'm not going to do anything until you explain to me what you're doing here"
“We're looking for you. We're here to help” you murmured, again in a cautious voice. You wanted to reach out and take the object out of his hand, but you didn't know how he might react.
"Eddie, these are my friends" Dustin intervened, adopting the same calm with which you were talking to the boy "You know Robin, from band. And this is my friend Max; the one who never wants to play D&D”
“No one is going to hurt you, Eddie. We're on your side,” you insisted, anxiety peaking at the sight of glass so close to Steve's neck. It's not that you were very fond of him, but you didn't want something bad to happen to him either "Please"
Eddie hesitated for a moment; you could see it in his eyes. He was sweating, shaky, and also scared of what might happen, but finally dropped his hand from him. You all were able to breathe again and Steve didn't hesitate to dive to the side with Robin as Max and Dustin came over to check on him.
But all your attention was on Eddie, no one else.
“Y/N…”
"Leave it to me," you replied to Dustin, quietly. The long-haired boy had already leaned against a window, letting himself fall slowly through it, and from the look on his face, you could tell exactly what was happening. You've seen it many times “Hey, Eddie…” you started to say, crouching down in front of him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was very worried"
“Worried that I was a murderer?” he said, his words cutting like knives through your chest. You knew that there was still tension between you because of how things had ended, but honestly, you were sick of it.
“I was worried about you, Eddie. I always care about you” You closed the distance a bit, reaching up to reach his hand and try to take the bottle from him, which he let you do. Suddenly his breathing became erratic and tears were already crystallizing his eyes. Eddie had led a difficult life and more than once you'd had to support him through an anxiety crisis. "Hey, hey, look at me," you ordered, completely closing the space between you. One of your hands was placed on his knee and the other went to his cheek “Breathe with me, okay? as we practice. It's just you and me, love. Just you and me”
Your words were like a lifeline in the middle of the huge ocean.
It didn't take him long to lean forward and you held him in your arms, feeling him cling to you tightly.
"I didn’t do it…"
"I believe you, Eddie"
“It was horrible, I… Chrissy just wanted help…” he stammered. In the beginning, perhaps you were open to encountering an unfavorable situation. But now he was there, in your arms, sobbing for the death of the victim... he hadn't done it. There wasn't a fucking chance.
"Okay, we'll listen to everything you have to say" you exclaimed, remembering for a moment that there were more people in the place. But at that moment only he needed your attention "But I need you to calm down, okay, love?" you murmured It was the second time you said love to him and it felt so natural as if he had never stopped doing it. And his chest got hot when you did.
You didn't imagine that you would be in that position again, so close to him, holding him gently and whispering words of encouragement in his ear. He still smelled the same, he still felt the same as before, he was still your same Eddie.
At some point, he stopped crying and just took a moment to rest against your shoulder wrapping more of his arms around your waist. As much as he tried to deny it, he had missed you. Every day without fail.
When he finally broke away you ran your thumbs down his cheeks to wipe the tears from his face, as gently as possible, and watched him stay mesmerized for a second.
"We want to know what happened," Dustin muttered, forcing you to lean back a bit to allow everyone to get a better look. You felt him move his thumb up and down over your clothed skin, as he used to do to comfort himself.
"You won't believe me," he whispered, his voice still trembling.
"Try us" Max replied from his place, quite confidently.
And with your hand on his, he began to tell you everything.
Tumblr media
“You don't have to stay here,” he said, into the darkness.
The theory that it was something supernatural was correct and you were still struggling to digest it a bit, but it was Eddie who was affected the most. So when the idea of someone staying with him overnight was suggested, you didn't hesitate to offer.
“Are you kidding? What if the police come? Or worse, what if that thing comes for you? No complaints, I'm staying here” you answered decisively. You were spreading a quilt you had stolen from the house, as well as a couple of pillows, on the boat. You would have to sleep covered by the tarpaulin to go unnoticed by any nocturnal visit.
"Yes, but why are you doing this?" he said. It didn't sound like a claim, but rather it was a sincere question "You know, being here... being with me"
"Are you seriously asking me that shit?" you exclaimed, putting aside what you were doing so you could look at him. You could tell he even looked shy “I still have a heart, Eddie. You're in trouble and I want to help."
"I thought you didn't care about me anymore" he dared to say. He looked vulnerable, totally different from the last time you had spoken. That day you had fought so much, you had yelled at each other, you had insulted each other... perhaps now the time had only come to ask for forgiveness.
"Well, you're more of an idiot than I thought," you told him, still with a neutral tone of voice. You didn't want to go any further, because you knew that if you kept talking it would simply escape from your lips how much you still loved him “The best thing is that we go to sleep. You need to rest” you exclaimed, getting into the boat to stop feeling his watchful gaze and it didn't take long for Eddie to join in.
You two were quiet for a few minutes, just looking at the ceiling, feeling the cold air coming in from the sides, and listening to the sound of the lake water.
“And… how have you been lately?” he asked suddenly, watching you out of the corner of his eye, “Everything has been okay?”
Have you been okay? No, the truth was that no. And under the circumstances you were in, at risk of dying at any moment from a monster stalking you, it didn't seem to matter so much telling him the truth anymore.
"I haven't been that good if I'm honest"
“Oh”
"And you?"
"I haven't been that good either," he confessed. Were there ways to tell someone that you had missed them, without telling them directly? Maybe yes “You got a new haircut, right?” he asked, although it was obvious and not a relevant topic of conversation “You look pretty”
Pretty. It always felt so good when he told you.
“Thanks, you've been decent too,” you joked and it was wonderful to hear your laugh again. You were so close, shoulder to shoulder and your bare toes almost touching. You had shared many forms of intimacy when you were a couple, but it still felt strange to be in a situation like that again.
"Are you comfortable?" he asked, turning a little to look at you better "If you're cold I can give you my jacket"
"I'm fine like this" you answered, but unconsciously you moved a little closer in search of warmth. You thought the conversation would die there, but then again, it didn't.
“And how have your parents been, your little brother… your dog?”
“They have been good” you laughed, close to him. You were surprised to know that he cared about your family "And your uncle?"
"Right now, I don't think it's very good," he snorted, a little disappointed. "I'm just a fucking problem."
"Don't say that" you asked, turning to look at him "You're not a problem"
"Not even for you?"
"Much less for me" you replied, beginning to annoy you a little. But you understood that maybe you had a little guilt "And I'm sorry if I ever made you feel that way... I didn't mean to"
“It doesn't matter anymore. I behaved like an idiot too” he admitted. Was that an apology? Were you forgiving each other?
"We were both idiots" you concluded. You were surprised by the way that an immense desire to kiss him invaded you, like something you had subconsciously repressed all this time, and you could have done it just by stretching a little, but you didn't want to abuse the little trust between you that you had regained.
"Was it my imagination... a while ago you called me love like twice?" he dared to ask, his voice mocking. You stifled a laugh from your place.
"I was trying to calm you down and that worked really well before," you answered, shrugging.
“Thanks for that, by the way. Without you here, I don't know what would have happened” after he said that you kept looking at each other for a few minutes and his hand went up to your face as if trying to remember the details of your body with his touch. You longed so much for him to share his warmth with you again, to kiss you... to touch you as only he did. Eddie looked like he had almost read your mind as he leaned in closer, "Y/N, forgive me for what I'm about to say, but I really need to kiss you right now or I'm going to freak out.”
Silence. Eddie thought he had screwed it all up again.
"What are you waiting for?"
Eddie didn't need another word before he lunged at your lips. He was kissing you so fervently, like the life was draining out of him, like he'd been wanting to since the last kiss you shared.
You had had problems, lots of them, but now it was different. And a part of you was convinced that you couldn't stay away again. I mean, this was the first time you'd spoken since you'd broken up and were literally kissing, how could you stay away longer?
"You don't know how much I missed you" he whispered on your lips, separating slightly and then kissing you again "My God, you... you are... I hate you so much"
"You're kissing me right now"
“I hate you so much for leaving me”
"Eddie..."
“It doesn't matter anymore,” he said breathlessly, holding you firmly around the waist and maneuvering you under his body; warm, friendly, and as familiar as ever "nothing matters anymore just... just kiss me please”
And so you did.

Eddie doesn't notice you approaching him as he is under the van, probably trying to fix something in the undercarriage. He is just lying in his old rigged jeans, shirtless, making it hard for you to concentrate.
"Hey there, Eds! What about a break?" you say, trying to get his attention.
"Look who decided to show up! I haven't seen you in a while," he says, coming to hug you.
"It's been just a day, silly," you say. "How are things? Did you finish the car?"
"No." He frowned. "I'm still working on it, it has not been easy, but we'll get there."
"Sorry, I can't help much."
"That's ok, sweetheart! Gareth stopped by yesterday to help me with the transmission and the breaks, and we made good progress."
"I didn't know Gareth could fix cars…" you comment while sitting down cross-legged on the ground
"He's crazy about his cousin's car and is trying to learn a thing or two from him… it ended up being useful to me."
He continues to tell you what he was working on in the van. Of course, you don't understand most of it, but you like to see how excited he is about it and happy he is having a good time with his "personal project" as he likes to call it.
"Where were you yesterday? I missed you."
"I was with Nancy; I needed some girl time."
You know he wouldn't understand that having a hopeless crush on someone you have no chance with can be a little overwhelming. Spending time with Nancy was a great way to distract you from your miserable life. She is a great friend and always makes you happy, and while she usually sees her brother Mike and his friends as inconveniences, you care about them deeply, and they like you too.
Eddie is still looking at you, wanting to know more but afraid of asking and making you uncomfortable.
"We even had a pajama party! It was fun, helped me relax… we watched movies, had snacks and drinks, painted nails, talked about boys..."
"Did you talk about me?" he interrupted you.
His question took you by surprise. You wanted to reply, "Absolutely not!" and that would be the truth. There is no way you would tell Nancy about being in love with Eddie. She would probably be like Jonathan, trying to convince you to confess your feelings.
"We talked about boys, not twisted little devils," you reply with a smile.
He sticks his tongue out, making devil horns with his hands, making you laugh hard. He also laughs upon seeing your reaction.
"I wonder which boys you were talking about; you always hoped to find someone you would be deeply in love with… you know what, I rather not know," he avoids your eyes.
He goes back to work, now working on the van's engine. Eddie chatters happily, and you stay there talking and laughing, watching his fingers work through the metal pieces. It was fascinating to you to watch his skills. While his hands looked too big for the things he was doing, he was doing everything with ease and precision.
He looked gorgeous. His hair was pulled back into a wild bun, with a few strands framing his face. He rubs his forehead with his arm since his hands are occupied working on the engine, his tongue sticking out just a bit, and his brows scrunched together in concentration. You can see a slight sweat forming. You decide to light up things a bit.
"You know, maybe this is too big of a challenge for you..." you say playfully while getting up and getting closer to him.
"I find your lack of faith utterly disturbing, M'lady," he replies with a mischievous smile.
And before you can avoid it, he boops your nose with his hand that has grease on it. He laughs, probably because you are looking back at him with a shocked face. He then rubs his dirty finger on your cheek. You then start pushing and wrestling each other like annoyed kids, yelling and laughing.
And then you stumble on something, hitting the ground, Eddie falling on top of you. You can feel his weight; he is so close to you that his hair tickles your face. You are frozen to the spot, your heart thumping like a drum solo is being played in your chest, when suddenly you hear footsteps and Wayne's voice:
"Hey kids, I'm going out and probably won't be back until night…"
Eddie jumps out of you to stand up, and at the same time, your eyes go wide, and your cheeks immediately flush pink. You hope that Wayne hasn't noticed it.
"But I'm sure you'll be ok. So don't mind me, just take care," he says, raising his hands and quickly turning around and walking back.
An odd silence is in the air; you cannot speak anything, being too ashamed. Eddie closes the van and comes to grab your hand. He tows you out of there with his rough and warm hand. "That's enough for today, huh? Let's get out of here."
You can only think that as long as he is holding your hand, you will follow him anywhere.
Tumblr media
The days pass quickly, but you are comfortable with the new routine. Your father is out most of the time, not that you spend much time at home too. The awkwardness of that day is long gone, you are not sure if Wayne saw anything, but if he did, he had not said a thing. You spend time with Eddie while he is working on the van, and most nights, you also spend together listening to music, drawing… You could get used to this life.
But today is one of those days you spend the whole morning doing tedious chores at home. You are putting the last plates back in their places when a horn honks on the street. You don't pay much attention, but it keeps honking, so you open the door to see what is happening. Eddie is standing there with the van door open and the biggest proud smile.
"Oh my fucking lord, I can't believe it! You did it! You fixed the van!" you speak in a high pitch.
He opens his arms, and you run into them, giving him a tight hug.
"Eds, you're amazing!" you breathe.
"See, you need to have more faith in me, sweetheart. I can be pretty obsessive when I have a goal in mind." he laughs.
"Obsessive, stubborn, talented… I don't know which option to pick."
He lets go of the hug but holds your hand and gives it a small kiss. "Would you give me the extreme honor of going on an adventure with me?"
"What, now? Where to?" you ask, unsure about it.
"Yes, now… but I can give you some minutes to get ready. I wanna take you to the lake. Please, please say yes; I've already packed everything." He looks at you with those puppy eyes, trying to win you over.
"Let's do it!" you agree more enthusiastically, and Eddie smiles in deep satisfaction.
Once everything is ready, you join Eddie in the car. The ride is smooth, but you don't recognize the road you are taking.
"Hey, I don't think this is the road to the lover's lake." you point out.
"Nah, we already know that one. I'm taking you somewhere new," he says, looking at you, trying to read your reaction.
"An adventure indeed!" you reply, and he seems relieved when he sees you laughin' from the passenger's side.
He parks the car on the side of a small track that leads to the lake below. "Let's go."
He opens his most impossibly charming smile while helping you get out of the van. Your eyes dart around as you try to take everything in. It's such a beautiful place! You turn back to him with a wide smile before looking back to the lake and slowly walking to it. You then see him coming back at you with two beach towels.
You roll your eyes at him. "If you think I'm going into the water, you are truly delusional."
He laughs. "Oh, what we have here… Are you scared?"
"No, I'm just wondering if it's safe," you reply, not moving an inch.
"I guarantee it is. And you're gonna want to lose a few layers, sweetheart," Eddie said while pulling his shirt over his head. "You'll need something to put back on later. Unless you're good with just a towel… I wouldn't mind."
He winks at you, and you scowl back but immediately start stripping without hesitation while Eddie takes off his pants. Two could play that game. It wasn't until he saw a flash of blue lace that it occurred to him this was not his best idea. He quickly turned his eyes even though it was clear you didn't care what he saw.
"Ready?" he heard you call out.
He looked at you and nodded, and you laughed, seeing that he was making sure to keep his eyes steady on your face and nowhere else. "Ready."
You started running before him, but he caught up quickly. You screeched as soon as your toes hit the water, but you continued until you had run waist-deep.
"I have to admit I wasn't sure if you would accept the challenge; most girls don't."
"Does that mean that you bring a lot of girls here?"
"A gentleman doesn't kiss and tell." Eddie jokes, and you roll your eyes and nudge his shoulder, making the both of you laugh. But the truth is that you don't like the idea of Eddie being there half-naked with other girls.
He interrupts your thoughts, "Hey, what happened? Are you judging me?"
"When am I not, Eds?" you say, trying to sound playful.
"See? You are so mean to me! Maybe if we never met, I could still be a sweet innocent kid, and no one would be judging me."
"Well, if you didn't want me to be part of your family, you should have killed me when you had the chance." you shrug.
"But that's exactly what I'm doing now," he says before pushing your head under the water, pretending that he is trying to drown you. You are taken by surprise and swallow a bit of water, coming back and splashing water on him.
"That’s not funny, Eddie Munson!" you say while squeezing his cheeks so he looks like a fish, and you both laugh.
"We could do it, you know," he says quietly.
"Do what? Kill each other?"
"No, silly… pretend we are family, just run away somewhere and start anew. Fuck school, let's go to another town, get jobs that will be enough to pay the rent… or we could live in the van, we could make it work if we wanted to…"
"I'm not sure, Eds… maybe we should finish high school first…"
"You are not responding as I imagined you would when I acted out this conversation in my head; just stop it."
"Of course I'm not, Eds," you return, "I'm not crazy."
"What, and I am?" He pretends to look outraged. "I'm hurt, sweetheart. I thought I trusted you, and you're making fun of my plans for us and calling me crazy."
"Maybe you are," you counter, "you chose to be friends with me, didn't you?"
"Ah, but I don't regret that in the slightest," he scrunched his nose.
"And you are forgetting a small detail… if we do that, you would have to deal with me every day, forever."
"Every day? Ouch. Yeah, I underestimated how impossibly annoying you are to be around. I can't hang out with you every day."
You stick your tongue out and start to swim away from him. He chases after you, and you spend some time playing in the water until you both get tired. Then, back on dry land, Eddie picks a towel and throws it at you while he gathers your clothes in his arms.
"Car!" He yells, running to the van, hearing you laughing behind him.
He opens the back of the van and leaves your clothes there. You pull in your shirt and tug the wet bra strap through your sleeve to take it off under your shirt. While the back of the van was not that big, you both managed to wiggle back into your jeans without having to get out.
He lays down and smiles while covering you both with a blanket and plopping you next to him. You stare at each other with your hands under your heads.
"Would you mind if we take a nap before going back?"
"Not at all, Eds."
He smiles wider, adjusting his position to be more comfortable. He plays with the hair behind your ear and kisses your forehead before closing his eyes.
You shouldn't allow yourself to get this close to him, but staying at the back of his van, legs intertwined, and comfortably lying among the various pillows and blankets is too good to reject.
Your mind can't help but want him now. Damn it, your mind can't help but want him forever. It's such a good feeling to be able to relax, breathe, and sleep with his arms around your body and his face tucked into your side. You wish you were stronger enough to resist temptation, but you are not.
You open your eyes and are unsure how much time has passed, but you see that Eddie is still asleep. You lean forward and press your lips against his temple, calling his name, but he does not move. Slowly, trying not to wake him, you lay his head back on the pillow, releasing him as you lean on your elbow, looking down happily at his face.
You are selfish. You want him to yourself; you can't help it. But you are torn between saying something and later wishing you had not and saying nothing and wishing you had. Most of the time, you cannot express your feelings, and there are things you wish he could realize without you saying a thing.
"You know, I have this urge to tell you how I feel, mainly hoping you'll feel the same. But you probably don't," you whisper.
You know you are cheating, confessing things while he is sleeping, so he wouldn't listen, but giving you a chance to take this out of your chest.
"Some days, I wanna come clean so you'll reject me already. Put me outta this misery. Rip the band-aid off. But I always chicken out. I'm a coward, you know? I'd rather have little pieces of you than nothing at all."
Maybe one day you'll have the courage to tell him this while he is awake. But today is not that day, so you'll just stay there quietly, waiting for him to wake up.
After a while, he yawns. "How long was I out? I'm sorry; let me get you back home."
During the ride back, you were still thinking about your unheard confession while your eyes were heavy - and you wish you had taken the time to sleep more.
"Something on your mind?" Eddie asks, seeing that you seem distracted.
You simply reply, "Nah." You can't share your true feelings with him because how do you explain something you can't even understand?
"You seem so lost in thoughts in that pretty head of yours. I wish I could follow you there and understand what's going on."
"That's not a good idea… you would get lost too," you reply, resting your head against the window.
After some time, Eddie notices that you have fallen asleep. He thinks about things he wants to ask you, but every time he tries, your eyes make it hard to him to say the words. So now he just stays there, his hands against the wheel, knuckles tight, thinking how much you mean to him.
"Wake up, snoring beauty, we have arrived," he says while gently pushing you.
"I do not snore," you mumble groggily, stretching and wincing at the crick in your neck.
"Do you need help to get home?"
"Not needed, Eds… thank you for the day; it was truly amazing!"
"You're more than welcome, sweetheart. See you soon," he says, returning your smile warmly.
Tumblr media
You can't believe it's your last weekend before going back to school. You had such a good time with your friends that just thinking about having to go to school and back to work did not improve your mood. Eddie knew that and promised you a special last weekend out. On Saturday, you find Eddie waiting for you on the porch. You check your watch, worried that you may be late, but you are 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
"Hm, I-I'm kind of nervous… so I've been waiting here for an hour," Eddie said as though he had read your mind.
You step into the van with his help, and he goes to the driver's seat. He presses play, and metal blasts through the radio. He starts driving, and you both sing while he takes the road. After a while, he turns the volume down to talk:
"You know, you haven't asked where I'm taking you."
"I've decided to trust you" you wanted to add that you would go anywhere with him, but that was a detail that was better left unsaid.
"That's a horrible decision, really," he said jokingly.
You roll down the window, letting the air blow through the car. Eddie twists his hand up so that he can intertwine your fingers. His touch on your skin never fails to make your heart thud erratically, and you could swear that he could hear your heartbeat if the music were not playing. You see the smile on his face, his curly hair lying triumphantly on his shoulders, and you can't help but think that life is good.
"It's a steep walk up to the top of Weathertop, but it'll be worth it, I promise," he says when you arrive, turning off the van and jumping out of his seat, hurrying to open the door for you.
He opens the back of the van, picks a bunch of food, drinks, and some blankets, and then heads up for your improvised "picnic." You gasp when you arrive at the top, impacted by the beautiful view of some portions of the city on the horizon and the surroundings where Eddie was spreading the blankets covered with beautiful purple and yellow flowers. You lie in the sun, feeling the wind in your hair, enjoying the food while talking and laughing.
"Toss one," you tell him, daring him to toss one of the snacks at you. He smiles as you open your mouth, and he tries to throw it inside. Surprisingly, you are able to catch it, which makes both of you cheer.
"Remember when we were kids and couldn't wait to grow up…what the hell were we thinking?"
"I don't know… now that I'm growing up, I have to worry about the future, about being responsible, trying to do something good with my life…" You say, lying down, staring up at the sky.
"And that doesn't sound fun, right? But at least we are on this together; everything I do is more fun if you're doing it with me," he says, lying beside you.
"I'm glad you think that way… we may not be doing right this whole thing of becoming an adult, but at least we are having fun."
"To be honest, I deserve compensation for not being the menace I could be. After all, this is making me skip out a hell lot of fun," he argues back.
"You are not as frightening or a bad person as you think you are, Eds."
"I'm far from being a good person."
You are unsure if he believes that or is teasing you to try to make you say something nice about him. You turn your head to look into his eyes before continuing:
"C’mon, Eds.. aside maybe from Wayne, you're the best man I know."
"I know the company you keep and where we live, sweetheart… the competition ain't too fierce."
"That doesn't change the fact that you are probably the most amazing person I've ever met."
"The feeling is mutual, sweetheart."
You keep there in silence, gazing into each other's eyes. You are mesmerized by his brow eyes. You had to hold your breath as his fingers laced through yours. You did your best to try to keep a straight face, trying to keep hidden the wave of emotions within you. He smiles as his other hand moves to brush away a strand of hair that has fallen over your face due to the wind. You feel a jolt of electricity in your body, and you can feel the butterflies in your stomach.
The daylight dims as the night approaches, and you notice the tiny details on his face thinking how everything about that moment seems perfect. There is intensity and beauty to the fact that you are there, madly wanting him but doing your best to restrain yourself, and there is an unspoken tension in the air.
"Come, you'll want to see the sun setting here… it's beautiful," he says, standing up and moving to another spot at the mount. You sit again beside him and admire the view, the sky color changing and the sun disappearing on the horizon while the city lights start to appear. Eddie is by your side, with his pinky finger absently tracing lines against the side of your hand.
You are back in the van as the night comes. Eddie is distracted listening to music, and you are starting to feel weird again with those conflicted feelings of being happy for being close to him, afraid of losing these moments and aching because you wanted to be so much more to him.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, Eds," you say, but you don't sound convincing.
"Are you feeling ok? Do you want to go back?"
You look up, trying to stop the tears filling your eyes from falling. "No, I'm just thinking; nothing you have to worry about."
"Hey, you don't have to keep secrets from me. I mean, it's ok if you want to, I understand… but I want you to know that you don't have to," he says gently.
Your heart aches a bit again. You'd never done anything good enough to deserve a friend like Eddie. You never had secrets with him before, but there is no way you would tell him how madly in love with him you are, how much you fear losing him. But he deserves better than an omission or a lie… would a half true be enough? You could try.
"I.. I-I'm afraid of being alone. Of not having someone I care about to do things with me or someone who wants to be with me. Things can change so quickly." you whisper. That was the only explanation you could come up with without saying too much about your feelings. There is a moment of silence.
"Don't bullshit me, sweetheart. That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard," he laughs.
His words hurt you. You just tried to confess something, and he has not taken it seriously, making you regret that you said anything - and this probably shows in your face as you notice his shifting pose.
"Oh my, you really mean it. I'm sorry, I'm an idiot… how are you?"
"I'm fine," you reply in a cold voice.
"No, you're not. Bring all these insecurities over here; let me take care of them."
He pulls you into his lap, hugging you and gently running his fingers through your hair. In a way, it reminds you of when you were younger, and he did the same thing to calm you down when something bad happened, such as when your father hit you, or you were bullied at school, or you got hurt, scared… he always knew how to make you feel protected, his arms are always your safe place.
"It’s stupid because you will never be alone. I'm not going anywhere… all I want is for us to be always together."
"You have your own life, Eds… I can't always be the needy one."
"But you are not. You see, I need you. When I'm with you, things are better. I'm happier. I'm less alone too."
Hearing those words while feeling his arms around you is so impossibly good. You know that they don't mean what you would like them to, but they still find their way into your heart and create roots there. You two stay there in silence for a few minutes when you notice that he chuckles and you see his arm reaching out to a pillow.
"Eds, don't!" you try to say at the same time that he says, "Pillow fight!"
You hurry to pick one - the back of the van could be more spacious, but you keep using pillows as weapons in your playful, mock battle.
"You won’t get rid of me so easily!" The pillow hits your arm.
You both giggle and laugh as you hit each other with the pillows. This is such a fun and playful way to bond and show affection while also letting loose and having a good time that it helps take out the sad feelings you had in your heart.
"As long as you want me, I'll be here for you. That’s a promise." with that, you melt, not trying to defend yourself anymore, and he hits you a last time, celebrating his victory, and you are both laughing so hard that your cheeks start to sore.
"You can do so much better, Eds… All I can offer you are these stupid conversations…" you mumble.
"And they mean more to me than you'll ever know." a small smile forms on his lips while he replies.
You can't help who you fall in love with, that's a fact, but all of this is just making you fall even harder. Finally, he wraps his arms around you under the blankets while he kisses your head saying good night, making you think you are the luckiest girl in the world. Eddie began softly snoring, and the sound soothed like a lullaby, making you fall asleep quickly.
The next day you wake up noticing that he is semi-awake, still holding you, with one hand petting your head and the other softly touching your tattoo. You enjoy it for a bit before trying to move.
"Hey sweetheart, there is a conversation going on between my fingers and your skin; it's rude of you to interrupt it."
You giggle at his comment. "I'm sorry, but I think we need to go… I have tons of things to do before going back to school tomorrow."
"Why can't good things ever last? Ok, you win, let's head back."
Eddie did not turn on the radio - you were still sleepy, and the next thing you knew, you heard him saying, "We're here…" his voice pulled you from your light sleep.
As you leave the van, you remind him, "You're driving me to school, don't forget that."
"I won't! I'll be right here waiting for you."
He hesitated, then half-smiled and raised his hand to stroke your cheek. His fingers lingered softly on your skin, and you couldn't help leaning your face into his palm, sending your heart into frenzied palpitations.
"See you tomorrow!"
While heading home, you are reliving in your mind all the great moments you've spent together recently. It's a terrible thing to know what you want and know you can't have it. You take a deep breath, thinking, "I wish he knew."
Little did you know that Eddie was also thinking, "I wish she knew."

You and I, we're alive. With nothing to do, I could lie and just look at you.
Wait and pretend,
Hold on and hope that we'll find our way back in the end
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten?
Do you think I have forgotten about you?
About you by the 1975
💞
Steve couldn't remember the last time he had been truly happy.
No, wait scratch that. He did remember because it had been with you.
For a year now he was going through the motions. Trying to move on with his life after your break up but he just couldn't.
You're all he could think about, no matter how many dates he went on all he could see was your eyes staring back at him.
Your pretty smile. He sighs and drums his fingers on his steering wheel as he waits for Dustin, Mike, and Lucas to finish up at Hellfire Club.
Since Eddie's miraculous pull-through and healing from the demo bats attack he had been hosting these events every Friday and Saturday for the boys.
Steve's breath hitches as he sees you come out with Eddie and joke with Dustin, longing weighs heavily in his heart, and when you see him waiting in his car a shy smile greets your features.
Hope ignites in his chest, he knows they broke up for a reason. Steve wanted kids and you didn't- at least not yet as you wanted to focus on your journalism career and they saw no way past that, they let go of each other when they should have fought for each other, found some compromises.
Fuck, he regrets letting you go every single day but recently he had seen that light in your eyes around him, the prolonged touches and loaded words.
Maybe this time you could both make this work.
You wanted to be with him as much as he wanted to be with you but he just didn't know how to go about asking you back.
Fortunately, he had his six Lil nuggets that had thought of that for him.
💞💞
"I repeat operation lovebirds commences now, I repeat do you copy" Lucas speaks through his walkie-talkie to Max who had been trying to nap after an excruciatingly long day at Hawkins high ( hell) school.
"Max? Do you copy" Dustin's voice comes through the speakers and she huffs and picks up the walkie talkie.
"Yes, now shut up and let me sleep, dumbass"
"Copied" comes Lucas's voice and she breathes a sigh of relief that lasts for a second until Mike speaks up.
"You can't sleep! You and El have to lure yn to Robin's house! She won't suspect anything from you like she would with us guys, especially Dustin!"
Max groans. Stupid boys, why did they have to do all the hard work? She is just about to suggest that Mike sticks the walkie-talkie where the sun doesn't shine but pauses.
She loves yn and she loves Steve, if this gets them back together then she can deal with this shitty day after.
💞💞
Max and El had asked you to meet up at Robin's to watch a movie, Nancy was there too and it was going to be a girl's night.
Hopper being super protective of El since they had reunited had only let her go on the condition that you were with her and Max.
Would Steve be there you wonder and your heart skips a beat as you think of your ex.
An ex you would very much still like to be with, to compromise with on a future together.
You and Steve had broken up because he wanted kids and you didn't. At least not right this minute... but sometimes you wonder if it was some form of self-sabotage on your part.
A way to end things before you got in too deep with Steve.
It was the biggest mistake of your life.
You dont think anything is amiss as El and Max lead you to Robin's.
It does cross your mind that Steve could be there but you are sure Robin mentioned he was working tonight?
However, that comfort is brought crashing down as you see Steve sitting on the sofa looking confused- Robin looks victorious.
"Omg! Is that the time? , I have to get to work byeeee" she checks her watch and slaps her hand to her forehead and then races out along with Dustin, El, Lucas, Max, Mike and Will.
Those conniving little shits... You can't help but feel touched though, they obviously want to you and Steve to work things out.
Nervous you sits beside Steve who smiles at you shyly.
"Hi"
''Hi," you murmur and nod to the now-vacated room. ''They sure planned everything to a T huh?"
This makes him laugh and he runs his hands through his perfect hair.
"Little shits and Robin too! can't be mad at any of them though because I've been wanting to talk to for a while and been trying to find the courage"
Hopeful you move closer to him and are eager to hear what he has to say.
"I miss you so much, I still love you more than anything and I'm sorry I pushed so hard to have kids straight away. When the time is right for both of us then we will talk about it"
Tears threaten to spill down your cheeks and you cup his cheek as he leans into you.
"I'm sorry that I never fought harder for us! I love you so much Steve, I miss you and I want to have kids with you in the future. You'll make an amazing daddy"
"You'll make an amazing mother sweetheart" he looks at you with tender eyes, full of love and devotion just as you are about to bridge the gap between you and kiss him you both hear movement at the door.
"Mike you stood on my foot" Max hisses and Dustin's voice pipes up.
"Shut up! I can't hear anything with you two arguing"
"You little dinguses are going to alert yn and Steve to us being here" Robin whisper yells and Mike groans.
"Did you just kick me, Lucas?" he huffs and Max cuts in.
"No dumbass that was me" amused at their squabbling you get up and open the door and the kids all tumble in and Robin who looks up at you sheepishly.
"Hi" she beams and Steve chuckles as he helps her up and you both help the kids up.
"Did our plan work?" El asks eagerly and you and Steve nod, your heart practically beats out of its chest as he kisses your forehead.
"Yup, Im not letting go of you this time sweetheart," he says to you and presses a sweet kiss to your lips.
Max who looked a little down earlier looks delighted now and you wrap an arm around her.
"You okay sweetie? You seemed a little down earlier" she shrugs.
"Just school being shitty" Steve who is listening pipes up.
"How about some hot chocolate and a movie night? Robin has offered to get us some movies. Max can pick the first" Max looks so happy at this and you melt at how sweet he is with his lil nuggets.
Yup, you were never ever letting this man go again.

We'll Know for the First Time by KikiZ
“Hey,” Steve’s smile is soft, tentative. “Heard you were having a party over here.”
“What are you…” Eddie swallows hard, mouth dry. He wishes every teacher that ever told him he talked too much could see him now.
“I was hoping that invitation still stood,” his eyes are drilling into Eddie’s and he can’t explain why he needs this so much, but he does. Every beat of his heart is begging Eddie to open the door, to let him in.
There’s a beat, a catch of their eyes and Eddie shifts, pushes the door open wide, whispers, “of course,” whispers, “always.” His heart is in his throat, he can’t pull his eyes away as Steve steps in, crowding him so close they share a breath. He can feel Steve’s gravity pulling him in and he’s never wanted to collapse so badly.
OR: Eddie gets to have a good life.

Saving All My Love For You by subtlehysteria
It was decided then and there in the Buckley residence’s lounge, on their weird Persian carpet while staring up at the off-white ceiling and Robin giggling at his side. He was going to rock Steve Harrington’s platonic world, man. And nothing was going to get in his way.
Or... Eddie notices Steve struggles with touch and in trying to help his new friend, develops feelings along the way
Touch-Starved Steve Harrington | Soft Eddie Munson | Idiots in Love
Ten Long Years by Blink23
It’s addressed to Edward Munson, but the preprinted Hawkins High address makes Steve flip it over and break the seal with his finger, knowing Eddie won’t care. It’s probably some sort of fundraising thing; they need a new gym, last he heard from Joyce, and had been annoyingly trying to get money from everyone in the town.
That's not what it is at all, and Steve has to read it twice to make sure he hasn't lost his mind.

Broken House Behind Me and Good Things Ahead by lichtbringer (percyinpanties)
“Steve… Stevie.” Eddie mumbles, shaking Steve's shoulder.
It takes Steve far too long to blink his eyes open, and when he does, it's to find Eddie, still rumpled from sleep, looking down at him with red cheeks and a sheepish smile.
“Huh?” Steve asks, raising his head from where it was nestled against Eddie.
“As much as I’m loving you all over me, sweetheart.” Eddie teases and Steve blinks at him, still struggling to process the words. “You’re gonna have to let me go for a minute.”
It takes Steve another moment, and then the realisation sinks in. Well, fuck. He fell back asleep, didn’t he? And now Eddie is awake and Steve is going to have to deal with the motifying ordeal of apologising for wrapping around the guy like a clingy octopus.
Even after Vecna's defeat and the charges against him being officially dropped, the people of Hawkins are far too willing to buy into the idea of the supposed satanic powers of Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson.
Tensions spike and Eddie finally does what he should have all along: he leaves Hawkins behind - he just didn't except to do so with Steve by his side.
Meanwhile, Steve finally gets the push he needs to understand what he is feeling.

Roll For Befriending Cheerleaders by PhenomenalWoman
“Uh, you okay?”
Chrissy jerks under the sink, head banging against the porcelain hard enough to rattle her skull.
Eddie Munson stands in the doorway, hands tucked in his armpits like he isn’t sure what to do with them. He stares at her for maybe half a second before his gaze darts to the graffitied wall.
Chrissy gapes up at him, his frame mostly a blur of shaggy hair and denim, before reality hits her and she scrambles out from under the sink, knees shaky and locked up from being tucked under for so long. “What are you doing in the girl’s bathroom?” She demands, swiping at her face like he hasn’t already seen her in what is quite possibly the lowest moment of her life.
Hey, at least it wasn’t with her fingers down her throat.
Eddie rocks on his feet, still avoiding her gaze, “I don’t have a good answer for that seeing as how this is the men’s bathroom.”
Chrissy feels the urge to gag again.
Something in the corner catches her eye.
A fucking urinal.
