I’ve been thinking on the why and how of Echo and Lettow leaving together at the end and what that means and looks like for them. This is long enough so it’s just the Why, mostly from Echo’s end though I’ll take a stab at why Lettow’s so relieved to see her at the ending.

Echo's motivations are pretty easy to pin down after a few minutes spent really thinking on it. People in-universe are probably inclined to think it’s one of those Ravnos compulsions: on paper “stay and get a real job and earn respect” vs “run off with a man still coping with the fact you ate his last lover” is totally taking the dicier option.

But the truth is, Echo’s not really a Camarilla sort at the end of the day; she's very much an independent with Anarch leanings. And beyond that she really doesn't have any particular political ambitions, one of the many reasons she didn't side with Julian is because she was uncomfortable with her integral nature to The Plan. So while sticking around to build infrastructure alongside Dove and co. would have been the more noble thing and the more sensible thing, it wasn't terribly appealing: she'd have done it if Lettow didn't let her on the plane but it was her option B for sure.

In addition, she and Dove would be great friends in an AU where Lettow's like "no, stay here" but they're not particularly close yet. She's also not yet friends with Carlos or Alexander; Julian she can't be friends with anymore; Raul and Vani split rather than just be her non-mind controlled pals; Elena's more of a quasi-business partner. Other than Rocket she doesn't have anyone or anything to really leave behind or keep her in place. Lettow’s a whole humanoid person though, who can have conversations and has always treated her with respect (Lettow’s first clan-dependant line to a Ravnos courier is to apologize for her loss re:Brian, to say that bought him so many brownie points with Echo really undersells it).

(Also sidebar: Julian's surprised to hear he hurt her. He didn't understand: if she agreed with him that they needed to gently bring the curtain down themselves on their own terms, why she was siding with the Camarilla. The answer was:

A) By supporting people like Lettow who can be reasoned with they have a chance to unite his vision with the Camarilla's in time, providing structure that can reach further than Arizona or the States

B) Basically every word out of his mouth about her since the Reremouse mission makes it clear to her that Julian does not hugely respect Echo, at least not enough to trust her with plans and shit, and she in turn doesn’t trust him to turn over a new leaf.

it was not C) to get in good with the Camarilla because clearly she gives no fucks about that beyond, her great relationship with them would be much worse if Lettow was any other Prince I’m pretty sure.)

But most importantly, more than the lack of strong ties to Tuscon, definitely more than her clan compulsion it’s just because she really likes Lettow and they very much have things to talk about but if he disappears into the Middle East he's an ocean away and who knows where doing who know what. Even if they split up once they reach Cairo, which I think they do, she's near enough she can track him down again once he's had his space to Deal With Stuff.

But if she stays in Tuscon...maybe she loses track of him forever. Maybe she makes it across the ocean in five years and there's no sign of him because he's hiding from the Sabbat, or his ancestor ate him the way Zapathsura ate most her clan. Or maybe things keep popping up and she never goes, he never comes back, and all the things to say never get said.

So going with Lettow is taking a chance, but it might be the time she chooses the lesser gamble despite being Ravnos.

As for why Lettow wants her to come along...I think in some ways he had dealt with a lot of the Aila feelings (not all of them, there is more processing to be done For Sure) and it was the torment of not understanding why Echo had done it that was making it such an acute problem: before he knew it was Echo it was just the general lack of answers. Closure and all that.

The big thing is just the other side of Echo’s concern though. He’s going east and he doesn’t fully know why or what’s waiting for him. Leaving Echo in Tuscon very much might mean leaving her forever, Echo appearing to say she is getting on that plane removes his culpability from taking her from something she wants (she does not want) and means they might get a chance to actually talk about things before Whatever happens.

Plus, I don’t think he particularly likes to be alone so having a buddy along probably just makes him happier regardless.

It occurs to me that Jane Austen as a brandy smuggler who knew Crowley & Aziraphale sometime circa 1810 means that she was smuggling *French* brandy-- so, cognac-- into England during The Napoleonic Wars and Aziraphale drinks brandy. He had a (more modern) bottle of Courvoisier open while he was calling Crowley in Good Omens: Lockdown. This is also prior to Jane becoming a famous author so she really was just Aziraphale's source for French liquor during the war, wasn't she? lol Good Omens coding everything French as romantic in Crowley & Aziraphale's secret romance and the future most famous romance writer to ever live--Jane Fucking Austen-- is how Crowley and Aziraphale were sneaking some cognac to have with their cognac while England was at war with France in 1810-1812. I love this show so very much.

I’m very happy with my year in reading. I hit my new year’s goal of 52 books finished. And I read a lot of things that I really fucking loved. Lots of robots. LOTS of scifi/fantasy sapphics which I am SO happy about. Some good horror, some good fucky “romances”. A lot of things written in response to the Trump era or written during 2020 lockdown.

I also enjoyed partaking in online book fandom for the first time in possibly ever! Especially Murderbot fandom, which is very active and creative and lovely.

thinking Extremely Hard about a Mamma Mia!-stuck au like:

- Dave originally being a director and having essentially raised Dirk but without the water apocalypse his midlife crisis hits Hard, so he gives away most of the money, buys an island, and creates a lil resort on it, which that’s cool!! He can handle it!!! But now the remainder of the money is in Dirk’s college fund so okay, he’s fallen on some financial straits, but he can still keep the place up and running.

- Dirk helps out and gets them online but eventually comes the day where he meets Jake and then after that comes the day when they decide to sail the world together. Dirk’s ready to go whenever except Dave would be left with the resort all on his lonesome. And Dave is visibly buckling under the stress.

- So Dirk’s trying to figure out how to get this asshole some help when he stumbles on The Notebook.

- The Notebook is actually a Journal which is actually a Diary, Dave’s old diary, and there’s some illicit details in there that Dirk wishes he could scrub from his memory forever, but it proves useful because it mentions that years and years ago, he brought three separate love interests to the island before they all ran off and broke his fuckin’ heart. And now Dirk’s got the gears turning in his brain.

- So Dirk goes to Jake and says hey. I want a wedding. Let’s get married. and Jake’s like ???? okay ?????? what brought this on and Dirk’s like Do I need a reason to have a wedding.

- And Dirk of course is sending letters to the three love interests, posing as Dave, to invite them to Dirk’s wedding. Best case scenario, one of the assholes reconnects with his brother and he won’t be so lonely. Even better case scenario, Dirk can guilt trip the FUCK out of all three of them for breaking his brother’s heart and get Money off of it to give to Dave

- So who are the love interests? Glad you asked!

- You have June, once a childhood friend now estranged, and now also a famous comedian- she might have talked to Dave once or twice after everything, but once Dave fucked off the map, there were no more opportunities to even try to bring up what’d happened between them

- You have Karkat, once someone he fell into a relationship hard and fast, now a famous romance novelist and screenwriter. Is he still an alien? Fuck if I know, but the point is, their break up was messy enough that Dave never contacted him again, and Karkat’s got a shit ton of regrets

- Now my gut reaction for number 3 is Jade, but I’m not entirely sure, since I’m not sure how her relation to Jake is in this yet hbkj. Likely a famous scientist and adventurer at this point.

- If not Jade we could probs do Terezi in that slot? Or else pare it down to just the two love interests lol anyway not important rn

- Point is, once they get there, Dirk is doing double time trying to keep Dave from finding out that Dirk’s the one who invited the love interests, pretending to be excited for a wedding he’s only staging to parent trap his bro, trying to keep Jake from knowing that he’s only staging this to parent trap his bro because he’s afraid Jake will believe the relationship was Only there so Dirk could use their relationship as an excuse even though he still loves Jake, and not-so-subtly implying that Dave’s stress is all these chucklefucks’ fault, so like. Pay up.

- Meanwhile Dave has no knowledge of what the fuck’s happening and has just learned that Dirk wants to have a wedding, actually, which while coming out of left field Dave’s actually pretty excited for. As far as Dave’s concerned, he’ll never have a big white wedding of his own, so it’s probably fine to live vicariously through his lil bro right? Just a little? Meaning he’s gotta get this shit on Lockdown

- and, predictably, Shenanigans Ensue.

- and I have no idea who Dave ends up with.

tomorrow on every shore - maxiel below deck sailing yacht au (it's very important to specify sailing yacht)! at least i can say the mumble mumble seasons of below decks i watched during various lockdowns weren't wasted. this was the longest thing i'd written in years (don't look at the wordcount) and i think i did a decent job of pacing the romance, plus i really enjoy the ensemble stuff ⛵️

running soft through the night - going with the middle part of roman holiday - i think it's a bit less awkward than the first story plus it was my chance to just do before sunset in 60s monaco ⛲️ i love stories about reunions, see: space persuasion (coming soon to a bigbang near you etc)

each part and grassy bits in between - a BTS story about namjoon that is also probably the story of mine that is the most about my own Stuff 🌱

So let's say, I'll come another day - a one direction story in which zayn is the time traveller's wife. the longest thing i've ever written (lol) and the most intricately plotted but i'm still mostly proud of the way it hangs together. going to stick a cut in for the thing i'm most proud of - that people are still rereading it nearly 10 years later 🧬

Hi. Just read the new chapter and it was absolutely amazing. KSFM got me into reading some of ur other fic and a name I keep seeing is Sandy..one of James's ex gfs. Im really curious to know about her. I know shes irrevalant to the story and is just brought up mostly as a talking point but she just makes me curious😋. I love this question!! That's very observant of you! Fair warning that this answer is probably going to be very long because I love talking about OCs😅

So for backstory, I had the idea a while ago that I wanted to write my own take on a multi book series about the Marauders and Lily's time at Hogwarts. (Which still might happen eventually, but not until I've done way more planning) So I made a spreadsheet with lists of the students in all four houses every year that the Marauders were at school, so I'd have a database of sorts when writing. (I had a lot of free time on my hands during covid lockdown lmao)

Sandra "Sandy" Keaton is one of the characters I drew from that database, and I have used that name in passing now twice!

She is one of the other Gryffindors in the Marauders' year, which means she shares a dormitory with Lily for seven years, but I don't envision them ever being friends.

She is absolutely a gossipy type character, someone who would get along well with Bertha Jorkins, and in my head she looks kind of like Regina George. She's charismatic, outgoing, and opinionated (James has a bit of a type, let's say), and she gets written off by a lot of people as being "shallow" because of her stereotypically feminine interests (she loves dressing up, hair and makeup is always perfect, she devours every copy of Witch Weekly, and she loves a good romance novel.)

She has a bit of a vindictive streak, and possibly some mean girl tendencies, so she's frequently involved in some sort of drama. But she's not one-dimensional. She's a half-blood who's insecure about her place in the wizarding world, and she's been raised to seek out status as a means of survival. She seeks validation in the approval of others, which unfortunately leads her to make poor choices...like downplaying her intelligence to appeal to boys, and lashing out harshly at others who make her feel insecure.

She has a rich internal life that a lot of her classmates don't get to see. She cares very deeply about politics and worries about the war, though she tries to hide it. She's artistic and loves to draw, though she's not confident enough in it to share it with people. And she's got a huge soft spot for animals, especially her grumpy little cat. She has a little sister named Susie who she's fiercely defensive of. And she'll go to war with anyone who hurts her best friend, Zoe Boot.

She and James have a brief, ill-fated relationship. They never become close friends afterwards, but once they both mature a little, there's mutual respect.

hey guys, it’s been a minute! I’m whimsy-of-the-stars, and since my main projects have kinda shifted around, I thought it would be a good time to update my intro! ngl it’s a pretty inopportune time to do a re-intro, since I’m close to the end of one draft and planning two more… it’s just overdue!

some info about me:

I’m gonna start college in the fall majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing! :D

learning languages is a passion of mine! I’m focusing on Spanish right now but I’ve dabbled in both Esperanto and Toki Pona (yeah I’m a nerd!)

I’m a video essay enjoyer and possibly maker, eventually

I have “I want to do too many things” disease and want to try making stories in many different mediums!

ttrpgs are really cool but I have yet to play them with other people! does that stop me from trying to make games… no

wips I am currently writing:

apocalypse story!

status: first draft, 24k (almost done with part 1)

the basics: mg/ya apocalyptic + queer ?coming of age? story and its sequel, except they’re both short so they’re melded into one two-part book! it’s told thru diary entries with lots of extra ephemera glued in! part 1 of 2 is ALMOST done but I’m not inspired to finish it rn! ! I’m not gonna continue with part 2 right after, though, since I still need to plan it!

summary: stressed-out eighth/grader Allison goes to her old hideout in the forest to decompress, but one thing leads to another and she can’t find her way back home. the forest is seemingly ever-expanding, ever-changing, and even when she finds her friends who’ve come to rescue her, they still have to face the actual, real life botanical apocalypse that’s becoming more and more of an issue for the outside world. can they find their way home alive and well? and if they do get home, what will their home city even look like?

extras: fun fact I started this in April 2023 for camp nano and it has taken me this long to write the next 10k words! Also the main character is a bit of a self-insert, but of the person I was in lockdown in 2020!

heist story!

the basics: ya fantasy heist novel (maybe eventually a trilogy?) set in a faerie world that rapidly advanced not too long ago into a dieselpunk/decopunk society rife with corruption and crime!

summary: Logical and inquisitive teen Calliope is relatively normal. Her offbeat parents, however, have raised her in a house full of strange curios and old tomes of faery stories. But only when she starts to exhibit unwieldy shadow magic, and her parents invite a prim woman she’s never met before into their home do things really start to get strange. The woman whisks Calliope away through one of the aforementioned curios to a noir hubworld where ancient faerie bloodlines and newfangled magitech collide. Why? To take part in a high-stakes heist with a surprising trio of other teens who want nothing more than to take down the crime boss who runs their town.

extras: this one’s a weird one imo. it’s one of the oldest wips that I am still working on, tho this one had a break of about 3 years!!! also I originally wrote it in hot pink comic sans XD

new superhero story!

(I am also revitalizing this one, but it’s in a way less put-together state! not much to say yet lol!) (also it’s not very new I just call it that)

it’s a ya superhero thing that features teenage (often queer) antiheroes trying to balance their heroic + civilian identities!

featuring: the shittiest entertainment/hero management company you’ve ever seen, shared trauma, gray morality, two different rock bands, and heroes that are at once government agents, influencers, and corporate concoctions!

considering making a “help me name my characters” post because i desperately have to name/rename like 3/4 of all of these characters!!!

a musical about standardized testing (yeah lol) that’s goofy and queer and explores how seniors + juniors are so freaking stressed out all the time lol

Heyyy...so i legit just finished reading false pretenses and i havea lot of feelings...i have so many questions I dont know where to begin and i cant seem to organize everything i want to say and maybe i should send this ask at a later date ones i calm down but i cant stop myself...

FP is so overwhelming and there are so many things i want to say...it uses usual tropes but damn the way you changed them up and all the characterizations you made...

The only thing i can think of asking is how on earth did you come up with this masterpiece? I know this is such a generic question but its the ony thing running over in my mind...like how did you even create this masterpiece???? And to think that this universe is a three-part story my mind cannot stop reeling!

Heyyy to you too ^^ Thank you for reading FP all the way until the end :) I don't know if this will answer your question regarding 'how I came up with the story', but my main motivation was to create a Dramione I haven't read before, but would love to read. It was a byproduct of the repeated lockdowns due to the pandemic.

I had a list of things I wanted to see (off the top of my head atm):

1. A Draco redemption arc (that feels earned and not half-assed)

2. A legitimate enemies to friends to lovers (not the kind that has them hating on each other but are secretly attracted to one another, or the kind that has them as enemies in one chapter then friends in the next. I wanted a gritty, hateful start – the kind where they only see and expect the worst in the other)

3. An ensemble cast (because my attention span wavers and dissipates when the only focus is the dramione romance)

4. Social relevance (I like works that can mirror real life experiences and challenge world views)

5. Trauma and Healing (I find psychology very interesting so I tend to read up a lot on the topic because it's fascinating)

6. A slow burn romance that is deep, mature and healthy (not the kind brought about by shallow thirst, dependence, jealousy, malice, and other questionable motivations)

Looking back on FP, now that I'm somewhat planning on doing some edits (and hopefully continue part2), I do find myself rethinking the scale of the universe and how ambitious I was when I started it T.T It definitely would have been so much easier if I hadn't added so many aspects to it and just endeavored to end it in one story. But now that I'm here, I do want to keep at it and stay true to the vision I had, despite it being an absolute mother- to keep up with lol

I wish I could talk about my stories more, but I'm just too secretive.

Been thinking about it lately because I'm feeling inspired to work on them.

I have about six stories; The first five used to be one story, that I kept changing and reworking until it kept getting divided. Been working on that since I was 16. Had to come up with working titles for all of them, to keep my files sorted. Let's see:

Oni Story

Shadow in Red

Madness

Ivy Vines

? (this one is blank I don't remember why)

Rearrange each first letter, and you get MISO. Whenever I write scenes that are use more than one story/world, I call it the MISO AU I really need to write the actual stories....

The original story that each one stems from, took place in three different times: The Backstory; The Journey; And The Epilogue. The plot revolved around the "main character", (Avasa), going missing in a pocket dimension. The Backstory was about how she got there; The journey involved her various friends and loved ones trying to find her, and befriending each other in the process; The Epilogue, they did find her, and now she has to live in a changed world.

Back then I really didn't know how to write for it. The character sheets, writing, and actual comic were always three different things too.

So I kept simplifying it, changing things around, and going in different directions until I ended up with so many different stories.

Ivy Vines, although an anthology, would be the closest one to the original story; Only it's about following the main character into the pocket dimension.

But the protagonist from Madness, (Bayla), is the most similar to Avasa.

Madness is a romance series, about a starseer, Bayla, often hired for divinations. Although she's a(n unofficial) matchmaker, any romance of her own is doomed to tragically fail. Usually from the same things.

A little comic I made a while ago for fun ;p Small crossover, since Scarlett is there

Oni Story, is an adventure comic about two vagabond Oni, Joshua and Damien. Damien, the blue oni, suffering from amnesia, has forgotten his birthplace and family name. With the help of Joshua, the red oni, the two set out to find answers. (Haven't been working on this one lately, because it requires research on Japan-- Which I just haven't had time to do--)

Drawing from 2016. I had these characters for a while

Shadow in Red follows our protagonist, Scarlett (Himura), as she navigates her various relationships, while being haunted by a cursed mask. A supernatural action series with heavy drama.

I've been working on this series the most. The drawing on the pink paper, I did last week. Plus some concept art, for the mask villain. If you squint your eyes, the face changes. Scary

So that's all the stories that stemmed from the one I wrote when I was 16. None are finished, but I'm working on them. At a snail's pace 🐌

But! Aside from that, I'm also working on a new story, that has nothing to do with the other ones. Shoot. I've been working on it since the inital lockdowns. So about 3 years now.

My sixth story is called:

6. 3lone Prompt*: *Pronounced However

In 3lone Prompt, our protagonist is a clone of The Original Sorceress. Her body, made out of the remains of her body. She is, and is not The Original Sorceress. Our protagonist has no name of her own, but goes by [6], (Pronounce it however you want).

[6] encounters remnants of The Sorceress's past she must resolve; While unraveling the mystery that is The Original Sorceress's life story.

Collected a few sketches/doodles of [6] and cleaned them up. She has an ocean theme.

Oof. Didn't think I'd take this long to make this post. Finally at the thing I wanna talk about

3lone Prompt was largely inspired by RPG video games, in a meta sense

What do you do when you finish the story? All the bosses are beaten, peace is brought to the land-- What if someone else opens your file to play it? This someone has never played the game before, doesn't get a lot of what is being referenced; But can sort of piece it together. What if it was you but you forgot everything

(Was thinking about this the other day.) Around 2007, I played Pokémon Pearl, and finished it. I loved the game a lot, so even when the story was over, I explored the areas again. And again. One thing that stood out was the villain's headquarters. It's in Veilstone City, and the grunts still curse your name whenever you show up. You can climb the floors, and use the teleporters, but you really have no business being there anymore.

There's something really quiet about that kind of setting. You have everything you need, to travel wherever you want to go, but nothing you must do. Almost like a forgotten world. The story's over but the music still plays

For 3lone Prompt, I tried to build on that thought. (But it's not literally a video game, just a high fantasy setting.) The story focuses on past lives, and what could have occurred during.

In this meta sense, [6] would have "spawned" near the end game, with all the items. Meaning she has all The Sorceress's abilities; but no idea how to use them. She doesn't even know what her main objective is.

Can she piece together the clues? Let us find out!

Ok. Never Let Me Go has grabbed hold of me. I’m intrigued. The struggled to pay attention during the before-times scene, but I was pretty sure it was going to end with daddy dead (based on my vague memories of long ago watching a trailer that I now think was for NLMG), so I assumed it was deliberately saccharine for the angst and contrast and wasn’t too worried. But has soon as I saw our boy and his mama (in her high-powered make-over) walking down that hallway, I was hooked. Then I checked the mydramalist page and remembered it was bodyguard romance and got excited.

Plus I’ve decided, having never actually seen any of his shows, that I love Jojo as a director. Based solely on the Only Friends trailer and his reputation. So I’m determined to love this thing.

I saw the NLMG trailer back in July, possibly when the only BL I’d ever seen was KinnPorsche. I was intrigued; it felt like maybe it had been made during lockdown because it was very spare, maybe with only three actors in it, but somehow it worked for the lonely, only one person with me against the world feel of it. I vaguely recall it being in black and white? Or maybe that was just the feel of it. I do remember finding the mama fascinating. I forgot about it, but every so often I would wonder what show it had been for. So I’m excited to find out it’s this one, and it’s finally here!

Anyway, I’m just 13 minutes in so far and the only contact between our boy and his (future?) bodyguard/love interest has been 1 second of eye contact. And I’m just assuming I’ve got the right guy, perhaps I haven’t even met him yet. So hopefully they live up to my hopes and dreams for them.

Edit: lol, I hadn’t even seen the bodyguard/love interest yet. That was some other dude in the audience, presumably an antagonist. But I do like Palm now that I’ve met him on the boat. And I do like the cinematography style. (Plus, shoutout to having a random English speaking French actor ask a question just to show off Phuwin’s English.)

then, what are some kdramas that you disliked. I've noticed a pattern in mine: those before 2010. I mean, I don't dislike them all (coffee prince is one that I enjoyed a lot), but for example full house or secret garden had me wanting to punch a wall most of the time.

and right omg i watched extraordinary you at the beginning of lockdown and i fell in love with haru/rowoon so bad that i started stanning sf9 after that, i was such a big fan of them that whole year hahahaha, and yeah it does have some plot holes but honestly the romance was so cute i didnt even mind

and omg, i havent ever watched a drama from before 2010 actually, bc ive heard that theyre such a product of their time and have like really sexist/fatphobic etc undertones with like toxic male leads and plot lines that just drag on and on bahaha, coffee prince is such a classic though i should watch it!!

for me its pretty rare that i dont like a kdrama cause if im not into it then i'll just drop it and forget about it, but one that i did watch and hated til the end was cheese in the trap because the male lead in insaaaaaane literally a psychopath and the female lead (park goeun bless her heart) is so wishy-washy, worst case of second lead syndrome i ever got in my life!! im going through my watched kdramas, and a lot that ive seen i remember enjoying as i watched but they just didnt stick with me afterwards. i rmb being super frustrated with love alarm, nevertheless (but that one wins back points for incredible casting/side stories/overall vibes lol, im actually considering rewatching...) and itaewon class! then some that i fully stopped watching are love in contract, she would never know, arthdal chronicles, detectives of seonam girls' high school and hotel del luna. i also stopped watching goblin and tale of the nine-tailed around ep 10 but i do plan on picking them back up at some point lol

anyways, counter idea to the tae pr stunt:

we all know tae writes songs that are personal and def relationship vibes. but with the knowledge that jk’s album (might) be coming out first, what if jk has written really personal love songs too? we know in the past his covers have definitely followed this themeing and even some of his releases ie. still with you, give relationship.

lol i realize writing this its not counter anything, more I guess support for the pr stunt. but I digress;

tae needs to be attached and attached way early before jk album releases to give the illusion of tae being unavailable, so jk can release his love songs (pop ballad, disco, guitar sounds, edm, folk idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ he’s gonna surprise us i’m sure) and army can be all like “oh jk had a relationship and it clearly didn’t work out so these songs are about that.” or the classic “this song is about army” (which i believe the members when they say that, but like also not all songs can be about army, ya know?)

I’m sorry that turned long winded. Boils down to I agree tn pr relationship is to protect tae but also I guess I’m proposing the long drawn out timing is for him to be lockdown while jk releases his album. (not really original but thanks for reading! 💜)

A PR stunt to provide illusion of romance/love in various forms both happy and sad and use that to tell a story? Interesting. I think that would really only work if Tae then did something similar, and complimentary, perhaps.

I guess we'll have to see when the albums come out.

Sidenote: we know JK and Tae back in 2021 were writing songs together, please let some of those songs be on the album(s).

Also, weirdly I’m really not much of a Superbat shipper at all, and the Superbat usually just comes out in joke posts that are largely at Bruce’s expense. Quite frankly, I have no idea what to do with that. Like, is ‘local area man turns ridiculous and looks absolutely goofy when male focus of his desires wanders into view’ my personal version of internalized homophobia? Oh god, am I projecting onto Bruce? I didn’t know I do that. Wow.

(Nah, I think I’m actually just into occasional unrequited Superbat where its one-sided on Bruce’s part because its a silly, low-stakes way to poke fun at a character used to getting his way and strategically mission-planning his way through every social interaction - with this last part literally being a thing I do, and thus relate to, and thus am like mmm I’m in this picture and don’t care for that, quick, I must mock to distract from the awkwardness of my relatability-born discomfort - and just, that character being totally out of his element and helplessly flailing. Like “help, I have an enormous crush on my ‘Greek statue of a god’ teammate I mean my ‘Greek god of a statue’ I mean my teammate who is a god Greek statue oh whatever. Look, his biceps are so huge I literally can’t even deal and nothing in my decades of training myself to reach my fullest potential and capabilities has given me any tools for dealing with this whatsoever. And whenever I ask my sons for help they just laugh at me and then hang up and my daughter just makes excuses to avoid me every time I try and talk to her about it but she literally told me once she only does that when she’s embarrassed for me because she hates dealing with secondhand embarrassment. 

But seriously, back to my crisis which I’m pretty sure nobody else in the history of humanity has ever had to deal with because how on earth would civilization even exist if this was some kind of universal experience? What am I supposed to do, I have to WORK with this man and have you even seen his thighs? Why can no one grasp that this is a PROBLEM even if that’s only because I so rarely confide in even trusted allies about the stuff that really matters and they can’t help me figure out how not to softly gasp like an anime character every time he smiles at me and only me, when they don’t even know I do that because I have that on lockdown. Like if there’s one thing I DO know how to do, its how to stifle an unwanted emotional response, lol, I’ve got that one covered. But back on topic, please. This ‘unrequited crush’ thing you speak of. How do I get rid of it? Is there somewhere I can just, idk, pay a fee to have them take it off my hands, because that would be GREAT. But also if you so much as touch the fantasies inspired by his heaving chest I might break my no-killing rule so I’m not really sure how that would even work.”)

LOL, but seriously, or as near to it as I can manage right now, I ship both Bruce/Talia and Bruce/Selina in various times and scenarios, and there’s frequently unrequited elements to those romances - specifically the timing and how sometimes one of them is not in the right place/mindset for the romance to actually flourish and then other times they are but now its Bruce who is in the wrong place, wrong time, largely because DC is like Tragic Man’s Love Life is Also Tragic because how else would people even know its him.

But problem is, there’s actual genuine emotion involved there and I’m genuinely invested and weirdly that makes it not really fun to make fun of Bruce for being the man who has everything except for what he really wants.

And thus, I Superbat. When that’s what I’m after.

Or, as we’ve established, when I’m still up and somebody should probably have taken the computer away from me for the Good of All Mankind but sadly, they didn’t and thus this is actually all their fault, when you really think about it.
