DP x DC Prompt #21
Duke had just wanted to find his parents. He hated that he was in a foster home, he hated that the cops weren't doing anything, and he hated feeling useless.
No one understood him. Well, no one except for his foster brother. Danny would help him sneak out, look for clues where he could, and generally had Duke's back. He helped Duke out of more tough spots than he could count.
Then Duke joined the "We R Robin" movement, and Danny aged out of the system. Duke hadn't seen Danny in a long time.
So when he sees his old foster brother running down the streets, holding his side and limping, Duke doesn't hesitate to pop down and help.
The problem? Danny doesn't trust Gotham vigilante's. And he's bleeding ... green?

Little idea I want to play with in a fic, as soon as I get around to write it properly (as in "as soon I'm not melting away and manage to write", yep), as much as I may like the idea of goose/carole/slider I also am way too fond of other couples.
Carole is at the bar with Goose and Mav when Ice and Slider enter. She notices mostly because Mav starts waving with both hands (and a beer) like a madman, or a kid, trying to get Ice's attention, and he does get his attention.
She looks up, while eating fries, locks eyes with Slider almost immediately, it's like that familiar feeling of seeing a family member you see once in a while for Thanksgiving, and not even every year. There's something familiar in the way he notices her too, frown and tilts his head to the side and there! There it is! The tilt! Carole gasps. Almost throw a fry out. At him. Oh good lord in heaven so many fucking years! And she doesn't course, thank you. She's been raised like a good, nice gir--
She doesn't throw her fries, nope, that would be a waste. She throws herself. Jumping to her feet like a spring, using Mav's shoulder for help without asking.
Slider is currently just glad Ice didn't hand him the beer yet, he knows he would've dropped it.
Carole is tiny. She's always been. Or slider had always been a bloody giant. She's at his shoulder, beaming at him like the sun, with a crown of blond hair. Tiny, but she can jump.
"Hey there, Koala."
Slider can only say, as she wraps herself on his chest, her legs around his middle, her hands on the neck, and a burst of laughter echoing through the room.
She doesn't let go for the rest of the night, scolding Goose for never telling that he knew Ron. In his defense, Goose never knew she knew him either. And how does she.know him, anyway?!
"Oh, you know, mother and father picked a 15yo stray one day and took him home fir a couple of years. You have no idea how hard it was to gain his trust and not have him hiss at us."
"Foster care." Ron supplies, stealing a fry. "She means foster care. And I never hissed at you, Koala."
"But you did so at our cat. And at father that one time."
"He sneaked up to me. And the cat hissed first."

Worf, or I guess Michael Dorn, isn't in Klingon make up in "Far Beyond the Stars". He's a human in that episode.
Yes love that episode! I would've thought there would be more non-klingon makeup opportunities for him in tng though. 7 seasons and only one time!? But I don't know any Michael Dorn lore, maybe he didn't mind the heavy makeup and wasn't pushing for those kinds of episodes

i gotta say i hate this one specific trend in "woke" media where, like, they do "colorblind casting" and e.g. it's a regency era story with black and asian characters, but it is NOT AT ALL "colorblind" and still maps the characters into specific roles? all the black characters are kind support characters and the one asian character is like, shrewd and possibly a mean asshole and the ACTUAL main characters are still all white, but it seems more diverse by association? you know?

Jacob: "Is...Is Joy treating you well?"
Danielle: "You already know she is! Don't worry so much or you'll get all wrinkly."
Jacob: "I know I s-shouldn't. She's great, just-"
Danielle: "See? Even you think she's great. What's there to be all freaked out about?"
Jacob: "...Nothing, you're right."
Danielle: "Cool. I'm gonna go get up to some PDA with my amazing girlfriend now."
