#thinking of that one bi woman who’s literally married to a man but INSISTS she’s a lesbian n argues it’s bc she’s only into this one man

the whole thing with bisolationist is confusing me. anon sends him your post and asks his opinion on the post and comments, you then comment why didnt you link to op. anon replies their explanation and bisolationist tags you and continues on to write his response to the comments. and then you get mad that your question was answered?? and idk if you just cant see how it looks but if bisolationist theorized about why some lesbians are biphobic or sth like that and someone commented an idiotic and borderline if not fully lesbophobic statement and he says hmm never thought of it that way 🧐 i’ll give it more thought. wouldnt you or rightfully group him with the commenter😭
im gonna repeat myself one last time cause there’s something rly insidious about how u guys keep rewriting the situation? i didn’t get mad that the anon answered my question and in fact took issue with him implying i had sth to do with other people’s statements. i also took issue with the fact that everyone involved in the other side decided to repeatedly skim over the fact that the convo was specifically about bi ppl who basically openly state that they’re attracted to both sexes, but insist on calling themselves lesbian/gay/homosexual. it was also mainly about the “lesbian with an exception” phenomena. such people have been used against lesbians specifically for a very long time to argue WE don’t exist. please tell me how this is biphobia first and foremost and not homophobia? how is arguing homosexuals can have an “exception”, that we can be OSA, is not first and foremost harming gay ppl? and here’s the real convo u misconstrued:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i took issue with him putting me in a group with people saying “bisexuals kill yourselves” “bisexuals are just evil degenerates”, none of which are statements i ever said or implied. i even said that much, i didn’t get mad at him “answering my question” but i appreciate being reframed as some hysterical irrational person in the convo for taking issue with me saying “hmm good point.. need to think on this” being equated with encouraging a minority to commit suicide! i also took issue w being repeatedly framed as acting as an authority. for what? i said good point to a lesbian who was disagreeing with the argument that bi ppl perpetuating such homophobia are doing it out of self-hatred, rather than homophobia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was stated that i was applauding like-a-ruby and made several comments like “omg so true ur so right queen” when in actuality all i said was “hmm good point” and in the notes or the same post “hmm i need to think on this but you made good points” alongside my own perspective that i do not know why this is a phenomena.
if lesbians were making up a significant portion of the bi community, if our voice was louder & stronger & we were sitting there arguing that bisexuality isn’t real (i know there’s lesbians who do this but their voice isn’t the dominant one in the community or the public) and everyone is only attracted to one sex, someone said it’s due to internalised homophobia and a bi person said “that’s not due to internalised homophobia. it’s just biphobia” why tf would i take issue with that statement either? why is it extremely offensive to y’all that another lesbian doesn’t think that bi ppl openly proclaiming their OSA but insisting they’re gay & insisting no one can be exclusively SSA, ie actively harming gay ppl, is being argued as homophobic rather than self-hating? why is the mere argument that “they’re literally openly proclaiming that they’re both SSA and OSA. yet they insist on coopting terms for homosexuals & redefining homosexuality not bc they hate themselves but bc they hate gay ppl” about not all bisexuals but literally only the portion of them that are outwardly and frequently homophobic this offensive to u? the topic at hand is about homophobic bi ppl who openly proclaim their bisexual attraction while insisting on coopting gay terms. like. that was the specific group being talked about. i don’t agree with jumping in to argue someone is lying about their sexual assault, or telling bisexuals overall to kill themselves, but im also not responsible for other ppl doing that the same way he’s not responsible for the bi people doing those things to gay ppl.

Robin and Steve both failing at love so badly as they get well into their thirties and deciding to just marry each other since they’ve already been living together since they were 20 and share a mortgage. Steve had original planned to just have Robin as his roommate until she found someone, and he had like seven kids coming and going but would be out to college in just two years, so a decently sized place (much smaller than his original, empty mansion) filled with Robin’s knickknacks didn’t sound half bad when he was 20 and making the plan to use his inheritance to make the down payment.
They go through the whole she-bang; mostly because Steve always wanted a big wedding and Robin had assumed she’d never have one so she simply made it a big party they could both enjoy. Everyone was invited, and people who didn’t know Robin was a lesbian said their congrats, that they always saw it coming, and they both bare through it with false grins and sneaky eye rolls.
It’s an excuse to get drunk and confess their undying platonic love for each other, even if the ceremonies kiss was awkward and quick, the pair snickering about it later like teenagers even though Robin had kissed Steve plenty of times on the cheeks and Steve on her head when he left for work.
They’re 36 and 37 when Steve asks Robin if she ever considered kids of her own. Robin goes on a long spiel about how terrifying child birth seems but like, she was raised to want one you know? That having a kid is both terrifying but weirdly comforting as an idea.
Steve agrees. They get hammered beyond belief at 37 & 38 and fumble through the most awkward sex know to mankind and they cry-laugh for weeks about each others sex habits and how bad they both are in bed because “let’s never do that again, oh my god, I definitely like girls, Steve” and Steve’s not even offended because it was purely for one purpose and while he likes girls, Robin doesn’t do it for him. Not like that. Not since he was maybe 19 and had a weird lingering crush on her that faded after she came out and he started experimenting with guys.
Steve’s 38 when he finds out he’s gonna be a dad. He cries. A lot. Robin does too, mostly because she’s cries when he does, like how his laughter infects her too.
They argue a lot over the design of the nursery, and Robin complains that she’s too old to be carrying a baby as Steve rubs her feet while they watch a movie.
Robin sleeps in his room more often during the pregnancy. Says it helps her nerves, because she overthinks a lot and it’s kind of terrifying because there’s no going back now. They’re having a kid. An actual human being they’ll have to raise together. A lesbian woman and a bisexual man who are strictly platonic with a capital P, are having a baby in their late thirties, and are married by law but not by heart, and it’s kind of crazy to think about.
“I never imagined my life like this.”
“Honestly, Rob? Neither did I.”
Robin starts attending swim classes with pregnant ladies after El insists it helped her through hers, and there’s where she meets Heather Holloway again. She’s a full time swim instructor at the pool now, unmarried and thriving, and Robin has the biggest heart eyes known to man over her.
Steve hears all about her and encourages her to test the waters with Heather.
“Steve, I’m literally carrying your baby. Don’t you think that’s weird?”
“Say it’s an open marriage if she asks. I sleep around still, why can’t you?”
It’s enough to convince her to follow her heart. Heather is around the house a lot more after that, just to check in on Robin’s pregnancy of course, she must be exhausted after all!
Steve knows Heather is fucking his wife/best friend. Robin had a dopey grin on when she told him. Heather doesn’t beat around the bush either about Steve and Robin’s relationship.
“So Robin’s a lesbian, you’re gay, and you’re basically each other’s platonic soulmates right? So you got married?”
“I’m bi, but yeah. Basically. I can’t see myself living without her, honestly. She’s my soulmate just not…romantically, you know?”
“I get it.” Heather grins when she goes on about a certain blond up in California who’s planning to come visit real soon. That Steve should meet him.
Steve is shocked to see Billy Hargrove again; Heather’s own platonic soulmate.
“I mean, we fooled around once or twice back in the day, but that’s because he has mommy issues, not because he wants to settle down with me.” She joked and Billy has a ball flirting with Harrington until he’s red in the face like a teenager again instead of an almost 40 year old man.
Robin has a girl in the Summer. They name her June, the month she was born and the month they met decades ago. It feels fitting.
Of course, June ends up with a step mom, Heather, who somehow worms her way into their house. Steve’s got the room for it, so he’s not complaining. He likes a full house, likes knowing his daughter is being cared for when he’s at work by Robin and Heather (when she’s not working).
Somehow, Billy worms his way in too. It starts with visiting to see his ‘niece’ as he’d joke with a wide grin. Then slowly, he’s joining them for dinner more nights than he doesn’t, and the guest room starts to fill with his things and Steve catches Billy bathing June because Heather and Robin were exhausted and needed the rest and…
God, he’s falling in love with the blond, deep and so much harder than back in high school. Falls in love with the smile lines around his mouth and eyes, the silvery greys that streak his dark blond hair he cut shorter a few years back. Falls in love with the way he laughs at Robin’s jokes and snarks with Heather and coos at June, calling her ‘daddy’s little princess’ as he bounces her in his arms, Steve watching and always blushing when Billy catches his eye and grins, kissing the tuffs of light brown hair upon her head.
Robin tells him to go for it.
“To think we finally met our romantic soulmates after getting married and having a kid, this has to be God’s way of pulling our legs.” She snickers as they cuddle in Steve’s bed. Because that’s just how they were, touchy and close, and Steve loves her so much. She’s his best friend and the mother of his kid and he doesn’t regret marrying her at all. They’re not in love with each other, but they love each other.
Robins in love with Heather.
And Steve is pretty sure he’s in love with Billy.
“Maybe we should get married.” Billy says one night at dinner, driving an airplane towards June’s mouth. “Robin and Steve got a bunch of benefits. I want benefits. We could do our taxes together.” Heather laughs and looks at Robin.
“You think I should marry him? I could do better, right?” Robin snorts.
“He smells like a dirty gym bag.”
“Your husband likes how I smell.” Billy wriggled his brows and Steve flushed red as the words, head in his hands.
“Not in front of Junie, please.”
“She’s like, not even a year old. It’s fine.” Billy waved it off. “Back to the tax benefits,”
“It is easier when you’re married, in my opinion.” Robin chipped in and Heather sighs, long and loud before looking at Billy.
“…Fine. I want a nice ring though.”
“Well so do I, so I say we have a deal, babe.”
Steve thought he’d be jealous, at least a bit, but he’s grinning when Billy makes a show of dipping Heather at the altar, the pair laughing after their obnoxious kiss that has Robin and Max hollering.
June is cooing and squealing when she gets to dance with Billy and Steve later that night, clinging to her father and grasping at Billy’s curls that are starting to grow out again. Steve thinks he might be doing it just for him since he said he liked them, and it makes his stomach wild with butterflies.
“We should get married next.” Billy hums and Steve chokes on his own spit.
“You’ve barely taken me on a date, and now you’re talking marriage?”
“Didn’t take Robin on a date, now did you?” Billy grins, holding him close around his waist. “Come on, Harrington. Robin and you, Heather and me. Robin and Heather, you and me…it all works. We’re far from conventional. I’ve fucked Heather more than once, I’ve heard Heather talk about jumping you to her own girlfriend, and I know you want me.” He knocks their heads together and smiles, eyes soft. “This thing we’ve got going…it works. You don’t have to hold back on what you want out of this after giving Robin the option of anything and everything.”
And maybe he had been holding back a bit. All he ever wanted was June, a kid, and Robin gave him that, and in return he got her to date Heather, he let Heather drag Billy back into their lives, he let their daughter call Robin and Heather mom and mama before he even got called dada, worked hard to provide them the lifestyle they had with Heather and Billy chipping in and he…
He wanted more now. He wanted Billy. He wanted him to move in properly, for Heather to just come out and say Steve and Robin’s home was her home too, to put a bigger bed in the master bedroom so they could all share some nights because he wanted that. He wanted a big family since he was young and in a way — he was getting it. In Robin and Heather, in Billy and June. In the kids who still visited when they could.
“Take me on a date first, okay?” Billy grins.
“That can be arranged.” He kissed June’s head between them and Steve chuckled. “The little princess has to stay home though. I want her daddy all for myself.”
Steve laughed.
“Don’t call me daddy, you’re gonna make it weird.”
“Princess can share. Yeah? June, you can share right? Stevie can be both our daddy.” June giggled and wriggled between them, reaching for Billy with a small ‘Bibi’. The blond laughed and took her from Steve’s arms. “I’m afraid she can share you but not me, Daddy.”
Steve rolled his eyes before grinning deviously with a shrug.
“Whatever. I’ll teach her how to share, Mommy.”
Billy’s cheeks burned.
“Don’t make me pop a boner with a baby in my arms, Steve. People are gonna think I’m a creep.” He grumbled and Steve snorted.
“I’m going to go dance with my wife. Have fun with June.”
“Bitch.” Billy clicked his tongue as Steve walked off to find Robin on the floor.
Steve found his soulmate at 18 in an ice cream parlour. They were platonic with a capital P, and content. She made him laugh, they shared secrets, and they had no boundaries keeping them apart. Hell, they got married. Had a baby.
Now, at 39, Steve re-met his other soulmate. The kind that made his stomach twist and flutter, that made his cheeks hot and his heart full. Made him hot under the collar with his teasing.
And maybe, Robin and him share a soulmate in Heather, and maybe Heather and Billy are linked by a red string too, and maybe they’re just a tangled mess of strings with no definite end. Knotted up in the centre of the four of them.
Steve doesn’t know what the hell he’s gonna make of all of it. Where it will lead him. But for now, he’s happy.
His soul had been split into a dozen pieces at birth, and he had pieced every part back together.
Only took him 40 years to find every fragment.

yeah the suggestion that sophie should be erased is deeply annoying to. like i need male centered white women who are fujos to step away from bridgerton and benophie. Sophie being a woman, a bastard woman, and navigating her gendered oppression because of her lower class is integral to benophie. if people want lgbtq representation they can go watch another show, or better yet, create original characters and go write fanfic if they want.
There is a place for LGBT+ rep in Bridgerton, there is even a place to turn a couple of the characters bi, but specifically gender swapping any of the main love interests/protagonists just would not work, and people need to be honest about that. However, they won’t be because they are just using the excuse of the show not being “diverse enough” to not support a Black woman playing Sophie Beckett.
The reality is that Bridgerton has tried to be more diverse than most shows, but they do not have to check every single box or else the show is not “progressive” enough. That’s not how it works.
It’s not “unprogressive” to keep the most oppressed woman due to her gender and class in the eight book series a woman. Again taking rep away from women(and marginalized women at that) to give to a (white) man that way you can see two (white) dudes fucking on screen does not make you “progressive.” Trying most surely does not make you a good ally(seriously where are you people when we are actually getting bad rep?).
Just because you see Black people in a period piece that’s highly popular, in a place where you feel we don’t “belong,” that doesn’t mean that we have to give up our space to fit you inside it.
(Mind you this is a place that we created because if Shonda hadn’t adapted these books added the diversity this series would’ve never done the numbers it has. Bridgerton is a sensation because of racial diversity that isn’t steeped in racism and race. It’s neither here nor there, but we constantly create our own, everyone wants to eat off our plates, and then leave us with scraps after they’ve had their fill).
This whole discourse is just incredibly bizarre, but the thing I find the most disturbing about it is the fact that even if you want to say Sophie should be a man, Benedict doesn’t like men.
I mean this literally should be a non-issue since he has shown 0 interest in men for two seasons and he’s had plenty of opportunities to fuck them if he wanted too.
Now if the show turns around and makes him bi this season(doubtful, but I’ll humor the weirdos) he still clearly likes women too so why Sophie should get the boot is beyond me, but not surprising considering the state of fandoms.
Silently off topic, but kinda related since it comes from the same place of using the lack of prominent LGBT+ rep to justify keeping a Black woman from being Sophie.
Which brings me people who think that Masali Baduza(suspected Sophie) can’t possibly be Sophie and instead insist that she’s either related to the Stirlings(the family Francesca marrys into) or that shes a gender bent Michael.
For issue #1 people claim that Masali and Victor Ali(the man who they suspect is John Stirling) “look alike” therefore she must be playing his sister. Victor Ali and Masali don’t look alike outside of both being dark skinned Black people(the people saying they do look hella suspect🙃).
And while Masali isn’t a household name she did have her own show(Noughts + Crosses) so she’s too big to just be playing someone’s sisters on Bridgerton. Not to mention the secrecy for a side character seems extremely unwarranted.
Now for issue #2, people are using a casting call(cause at least they know that it makes no sense for Masali to be a side character) that allegedly went out two years back to say she’s gender-bent Michael.
If you believe in the casting call(a similar one went out for Kate calling for a Indian actress when she was being cast so it is on brand) it says that the actress cast will be the lead for season four. Francesca’s story most surely isn’t going to be next up(skipping over both Eloise and Benedict? Be real) and it’s also another gendered issue to where if you make Michael into a woman you are changing up the story so much you might as well created an OC.
There is plenty of evidence that suggest Benedict’s season is next, Sophie has been cast, she’ll be in s3, and even if you don’t want to believe the casting call right now, that Masali is playing her, but instead of seeing what’s right in front of them people want to say that it just can’t be.
Overall I feel like people are doing a whole lot of talking and “advocating” for nothing cause they are butthurt that Sophie doesn’t look how they want her to look.
It’s still hurtful though to see that people would rather want Sophie to be a man and take away everything she stands for than see her being played by a Black woman, but again fandoms are unfortunately weird like that.
Let me end this by saying that while my rants my sound like I have gone crazy or am trying to start some bs, I have been suffering in silence since Bridgerton came out nearly three and a half years ago so this is me breaking my silence.
Again this isn’t really about erasing Sophie. It’s about keeping Sophie from being played by a Black woman which is fucking nuts considering that a Black woman is producing this crap.
First it was how Sophie couldn’t be non-white because it would be problematic. Then after Simone was cast as Kate it was how the show had no East Asian representation or Latina rep and had “too many Black people”(where are the Black people besides Lady Danbury and Will 🙃)so Sophie could be non-white, but she should not be Black.
Now that it truly seems like a Black girl it’s how Sophie should be a man cause the show has no LGBT+ rep.
And yeah everyone deserves rep, but the fact that people have continually said that their has been enough rep for Black people as a way to silence us and push their own representation at the expense of Black people is disgusting.
I can not reiterate this enough, the one thing this shitty ass fandom has been consistent in is saying that a Black woman shouldn’t play Sophie Beckett.
All I can say is that I hope Shonda has not listened to the people who keep yelling at her to give them representation at the expense of Black people while at the same time being fucking passive aggressive whiny little anti-Black bitches to her and all the Blackish actors on the show.

do you have any spare thoughts on the bishop of southwark because i finally interacted with him and i am Obsessed
i was going to answer this by posting screenshots showing i was the Minister-tier backer that made them put the bishop of southwark in Mask of the Rose, but i couldnt find a good one that wouldn't also force me to look at how much i spent on that.
it was worth it. but confronting to think about.
ANYWAY I spend a lot of time thinking about Reggie's queerness. (Did you know his name is Reginald? I don't remember where the game actually reveals that he is in possession of a first name.)
(Also, I like to say "That's my Reggie!" the way Bonnie does in this episode of Gayle. I have watched Gayle so many times, it has become a load-bearing part of my personality.)
Spoilers for The Brass Grail under the cut
I'm not sure if it's actually explicitly stated in any of the free content (I know it's for sure it's implied, but... well, it's a big game!) but it IS explicitly said in the fate-locked story The Brass Grail that Reggie is queer.
The Bishop checks the corridor outside his study. "If you speak a word outside this room, I'll dredge that skull up, tie you to it and throw you both down a b____y well." He reads the note again. "I never married. I've loved two… I've loved two men."
I'm pretty comfortable saying he's gay, although I've known some people who think he's bi. (The Brass Grail is about him begrudgingly fulfilling a debt he has to Hell, and one of the options given to him is that he could marry Virginia. I think maybe some people take that as an indication that he does possess possible attraction to women, especially considering that he seems more put off by the fact that she's a devil than that she's a woman. And, of course, the player character can be any gender, and during Feast of the Rose can have a dream about being married to Reggie*)
His relationships with both of those two men he's loved seem to have happened after London fell (he was in a relationship with his first lover, Michael, during the Campaign of 1868, and London fell in 1862. I mean, I guess he and Michael could have been together for over 6 years, but... well given what we see of Michael in The Brass Grail, I just think it's a little unlikely. I don't get the vibe that he was really into long-term commitment. He seems like kind of a flake!)
So I spend a lot of time thinking about Reggie, who grew up before the Fall, who was attracted to men but did not act on it, who devoted himself to the Church even though his father did not approve of his eldest joining the seminary, who was thrust into an environment where that sort of thing is suddenly tolerated, and he does... frankly, very little with that! Anglican priests can get married, and the Masters have said the gays can have everything they want, but he opts to remain private. Idk I just think that you can't spend that much time knowing for certain sure that there are aspects of yourself that are inherently, unforgivably wrong, and not internalize it. You can't just wash that off, even if people insist that actually it's alright, we swear. I think there is a part of the Bishop of Southwark that has always been, and probably always will be, deeply, deeply Afraid.
And I think that's very fun and sexy of him.
*okay so about the Nuptial Phantasies. If you haven't experienced Feast of the Exceptional Rose, you can pay (in game currencies, not Fate) to have a dream about being married to one of the main NPCs in the game. There were 4 options when they were first introduced- The Cheery Man, The Gracious Widow, Sinning Jenny, and the Bishop of Southwark. (They have since added Mr Wines). Of the original options, the Bishop's is the only one where it is NOT heavily implied that you have wicked crazy sex on your wedding night. (The closest it gets is "The trance closes with him offering to teach you some wrestling moves in front of the fireplace. To all appearances he means this literally.") Personally, I think this is because he is 1. gay and 2. celibate, from a combination of trauma and internalized homophobia, so (in fiction) there was no way he'd agree to letting people have dream visions about having sex with him, even though he did begrudgingly agree to the fantasies in general. but I would be remiss not to point out that I think headcanoning him as ace is an equally justified reading of the text.

This blog feels like such a safe space. I’m bi and I’ve struggled with it my whole life.
Remus is one of my fave characters and I recently got back into fandom.
But inevitably I’ve come across Wolfstar content. And the bi erasure is so bad. The insistence that Remus (who has a wife and child) and Sirius are not bi but gay is so odd. I’ve literally seen posts about it, where someone will tag ‘yes bi people exist’ but Sirius and Remus aren’t.
Given that canonically Sirius is open for wide interpretation and Remus falls in love with a woman. Why is there this binary? Sexual orientation is a spectrum. Why the insistence? It actually really upsets me.
That’s not even starting on the hatred for Tonks or any woman that is paired with either man. Is is a parasocial jealousy, masked as allyship that erases bi/pan/demi sexuality?
Sorry for ranting, I know it’s fictional but it still feels like erasure
This blog feels like such a safe space.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
I completely agree with you, anon! Idk why those idiots forget that bi people exist. Wolfstar and Remadora can both coexist, Remus and Sirius could’ve dated in the Marauders era and Remus could’ve gotten with Dora in the Lightning era. (I hate Wolfstar but I honestly don’t mind that thought, especially given that I do the same with Snupin.) They don’t have to choose. Like I said, I do the same thing with Snupin and Remadora. I made them both coexist, hence managing to squeeze both of my OTPs that I would die for without hating on a canon couple. Remadora-hating Wolfstar shippers, please take notes.
I’ve literally seen posts about it, where someone will tag ‘yes bi people exist’ but Sirius and Remus aren’t.
That’s just absurd. Why the hell can’t these two ships coexist ffs? I definitely understand why you’re upset, anon. I personally believe Sirius is gay but I have no problem with people believing he’s bi, and I really don’t get why Wolfstar shippers fully insist that he’s gay and sometimes even attack people who think otherwise.
Given that canonically Sirius is open for wide interpretation and Remus falls in love with a woman. Why is there this binary? Sexual orientation is a spectrum. Why the insistence? It actually really upsets me.
Agreed. Sirius is an attractive character with no romantic past in canon, and that’s something very precious to get ahold of in fandoms, so I can definitely understand the excitement that sparked from his fans. Marrying a woman does not necessarily make a man straight; I don’t understand why Wolfstar shippers interpreted it that way and then started insisting that Remus was secretly gay and was manipulated into his and Dora’s relationship (and all that other bullshit), despite the fact that he canonically loved her and was described as happier than ever when she gave birth to Teddy. This too upsets me, anon. You’re not the only one. :(
That’s not even starting on the hatred for Tonks or any woman that is paired with either man. Is is a parasocial jealousy, masked as allyship that erases bi/pan/demi sexuality?
Yeah, Wolfstar shippers claim that making (I don’t know how we can “make” them get together since it’s literally a canon pairing-) Remus and Tonks get together is queer-erasure (tbh that’s so funny to me cause literally 95% of Remadora shippers I’ve met are queer-) yet they continue to do ALL THIS and get away with it.
And please, do not apologise for ranting. It’s completely justified as to why you’re upset, I’m upset too. Feel free to rant in my inbox anytime! <33 (and can I just say how happy you made me when you said my blog felt like a safe space? I’m 2 seconds away from crying happy tears 🥺❤️)
Have a great day, anon!

On the one hand I'm really glad that my dad is able to set aside his homophobia enough so that he didn't disown me (or worse) when I finally admitted to him that I'm gay. Granted, I did it in baby steps, partially because it took me a long time to figure out my own sexuality and the words that felt the most correct when describing my sexual orientation. (For the record, that is asexual lesbian, though often I just say ace lesbian or even just lesbian for simplicity's sake.) So for a while he knew me as bi (because I thought I was), and as asexual (I am but my attitude has shifted somewhat), and it's only in the past couple of years that I've really come to realize that no, I really am gay as hell, and I'm only ever going to be interested in women romantically or sexually, period. And he's okay with this, but he's okay with it because he is convinced that if I "just found the right man" I would "change my mind," and to that end he's been doing this really annoying thing where he a.) won't ever refer to a future partner of mine as a woman, and b.) tries to insist that I "shouldn't limit myself" and that if I "just found a man who could make me happy" then "why not as a life partner." Literally we had a conversation one day that was like:
Me: "I would like to get married someday and I only want to marry a woman."
My dad: "But why limit yourself if a man could make you happy?"
Me: "Okay, would YOU marry a man?"
My dad: "I could marry a man. I wouldn't—"
Me: "Okay, well I could marry a man, but I wouldn't."
My dad: "But why limit yourself?"
It is honestly the most frustrating thing in the entire world. Or that's an exaggeration, but it's just so aggravating because I can tell that he's pushing for this not because he thinks I'm "shutting myself off from happiness," but because he is so desperate to pretend I'm not gay that he wants me in what would be, in his eyes, a straight-passing relationship. This man went so far as to say, "maybe he would also be gay and you two would just live together" and I just? What??? In literally what world would a gay man rather live with a lesbian than, idk, find a husband (or multiple husbands or boyfriends I don't know his life) for himself? Like this is literally just "be in the closet and be life partners so I can call him your boyfriend / husband" and I just. It's just so FRUSTRATING.
Again, I know this is all whining and it could be so much worse. He could have disowned me, could have beaten me, could have sent me to conversion therapy, so many things. (Granted, I didn't come out until I was already an adult so I don't know how much luck he would have had with that last one, but still.) This is like, the epitome of first-world problems. But every single time I bring up having a future wife or something, he always tries to push the "or a man" angle even though I've insisted that's not going to happen, and then he acts like I'M the one being unreasonable, like I'm just being obstinate and this is just a phase or whatever. It feels so patronizing and invalidating and it just pisses me the fuck off. Also, I know for a fact he's gone around at family gatherings where I'm not present telling the family "if she just found the right man" so like, I know he's praying to the god he believes in that I'll "realize I'm not actually a lesbian" if I meet some magical penis. That'll never happen but I know that's what he's hoping for.
Anyway, I got lowkey sexually harassed at work again today and I had to report it to HR, so between that and thinking about this again I just had to get some things off my chest, and the reblog lock feature makes it a lot easier now, so. I feel at least a little better.

Lesley-Ann Jones Is Untrustworthy
So I’ve seen some people in the fandom reading and citing Lesley-Ann Jones’ biography The Search For John Lennon recently and to be honest it’s concerning to me. Lesley Ann Jones has proved in the past to be an extremely untrustworthy source for info about the people she writes about. I understand that it’s exciting to have a book about John that’s not written by the typical “Lennon biographer” type (aka an ageing straight man) and for said book to also promise to shed light and focus on his bisexuality but, if we’re going to analyse John respectfully and accurately, it’s important to identify sources that are biased and untrustworthy, even if they’re technically within our favour. Especially when it relates to his queerness. And seeing as LAJ doesn’t have the best record when it comes to writing about rockstars’ sexualities in a respectful manner, it’s best to treat her words with caution.
Info about exactly how she’s a bad source is under the cut
Firstly, it's key to talk about LAJ's journalistic background when discussing what sort of writer she is: she's worked for papers such as The Sun, The Daily Mail, and The Mail On Sunday. Essentially, the bulk of her work has been for tabloids and traditionally the writing style for those kinds of publications place an emphasis on sensationalism and gossip. Now obviously that doesn’t discredit her work immediately, authors are usually able to write in more than one style so it doesn’t necessarily mean the tabloid style is going to carry over to her biographies; but it’s good to keep in mind when discussing and analysing the legitimacy of the narratives she creates and the stories she recounts in her work.
LAJ has received criticism in the past, particularly from the queen fandom of often overexaggerating, or just straight presenting false information in her bios about Freddie Mercury. She is the champion of the claim that Freddie was bisexual and not gay. Her evidence for this is over-exaggerating and (seemingly intentionally) misinterpreting the nature of the relationship between Freddie and his friend, Barbara Valentin. LAJ claimed that the two had a relationship and even lived together:
“Barbara was very open with me about the sexual relationship she had with Freddie.”
(x)
Tumblr media
(x)
However, no-one in Freddie’s life has ever corroborated that Freddie and Barbara were anything but friends. As for the claim they lived together, according to Peter Freestone, an extremely close friend of Freddie’s:
In the event, Freddie never actually lived there although Barbara fulfilled a huge role in Freddie’s life at that time... Freddie became very disillusioned when with more and more frequency articles were appearing in the German press’s gossip columns... about the relationship between him and Barbara... After one article claiming to have knowledge of him and Barbara getting married, Freddie... concluded that it could only be Barbara who was providing the information.
(x)
This exaggeration of their relationship and the insistence LAJ has on presenting Freddie as bi because of it has attracted criticism from queen fans for obvious reasons. For one, it’s borderline homophobic to essentially lie about a gay man having a relationship with a woman while downplaying his relationships with men. No, she’s not portraying him as a straight man, however it’s still erasure of the specific struggles Freddie would’ve faced being a gay man in his time, therefore those who want to analyse him would be missing some of the picture when trying to understand him and his life
LAJ’s research methods are also... questionable. This is a post from Crystal Taylor (one of Roger Taylor’s roadies) about her methods for her David Bowie bio which, if to be believed is particularly concerning.
Tumblr media
(x)
LAJ is also known to greatly exaggerate her own relationships with her subjects. She often claims to have been friends with the people she writes bios about (coincidently the people she does this with are dead.) Back in the day she would meet with artists while on tour so the idea is convincing enough. However besides her word there’s nothing to suggest that she had close friendships with Freddie or Bowie, two people she claimed to be good friends with. There’s also this comment from Brian May which actually goes against the idea that she was close with Freddie:
Tumblr media
(x)
So with all of this in mind, let’s look at the quote from The Search For John Lennon that’s been circulating around Beatles tumblr:
That Bowie worshipped Lennon is no secret. He'd banged on about it often enough. The ex-Beatle had gone to his hedonism. They'd met in Los Angeles, during John's Lost Weekend. I lunched from time to time with David in New York while working there as a music journalist, before he married Iman. He lent me his house in Mustique, to write the first draft of my first biography on Freddie Mercury.
The crazy pair went out to play, according to David, when John was on yet another break from May and far away from Yoko. They genderbender-ed about, John indulging again that 'inner fag' of his. What larks.
They later 'hooked up': 'There was a whore in the middle, and it wasn't either of us,' David smirked. 'At some point in proceedings, she left. I think it was a she. Not that we minded.' By the time they made it back to New York, the ambisextrous pair were 'lifelong friends'.
I’m suspicious of this story for several reasons but first I want to make it clear that none of them have to do with John having sex with men or being bisexual. I’m a very firm believer of John’s bisexuality (my username is literally queerlennon lmao) but once again I think it’s good to examine the legitimacy of sources, even when they favour our position.
Firstly, LAJ’s source for this story is the claim that David told her, which considering I can’t find any info about them being friends besides her word, combined with the fact that she’s lied about having close relationships in the past raises a lot of flags.
But even if we assume LAJ isn’t lying and did know Bowie, the quote is still suspect, particularly the line “John was on yet another break from May and far away from Yoko.” According to May in her book Loving John, her and John had only one break from their relationship (the phrase “yet another break” implies multiple) that lasted a week, and for the entirety of that week, John was with Yoko. (x)
Finally, the language LAJ uses to describe John and David’s sexualities not only puts me on edge but very much makes me question her intention. Phrases like “the genderbender-ed about,” “indulged his ‘inner fag,’” and “ambisextrous,” all come across to me as fetishisation. Bisexuality is already very highly fetishised and sexualised and LAJ is most definitely not concerned with deviating from that representation. That phrasing combined with the way she also discusses Freddie’s sexuality, where she’s alleged highly sexualised claims about him having threesomes:
And quite often that involved other people as well. Other men, other women. There would be a number of them in the bedroom at any given time. In fact they were raided by the police once and the police stormed in and they found more people than they were expecting to find in the bed that morning.
(x)
— leads me to believe that LAJ is an author less concerned with exploring John’s sexuality as apart of his life, something that made him who he was, and more concerned with including details about “bisexual threesomes” as shock value, as a sensational point she can use to to promote her book in press tours and interviews. Like a tabloid writer. And this sort disrespect representation of John’s queerness, imo isn’t that much better than the biographers who dismiss or underplay it. I totally understand that for a lot of us, finding out new info about John’s queer identity is exciting, especially for those of us who are queer and identify with a lot with John for that reason, myself included. But we shouldn’t be giving credence and legitimacy to someone who firstly, isn’t trustworthy and secondly who’s reason for talking about it is gross and exploitative at best and biphobic at worst.
tl;dr, LAJ is an incredibly untrustworthy source of info and in her own over exaggerations, treats discussions of queerness in an extremely problematic and exploitive way so please take anything you read from her with a massive grain of salt.

Chris can u pretty pretty please fan cast X/1999 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I hate this i hate that i woke up and was like yeah ive got ideas >:(
Kamui is timothee chalamet everyone's favorite edgeboy and nothing else kamui is just all edge here hes not allowed to develop as a character or be nonbinary sorry i got attached to agender kamui so much
Fuuma is everyones second favorite edgy boy Robert Pattinson who is literally giving it his all and thats probably too much so honestly? He can probably pull of fuuma theyre both weirdos
Kotori probably still dies but there are so many cringey romantic flashbacks with her and kamui as kamui is training (in a montage set to like imagine dragons or something) so like fuck it lets go with kaitlyn dever the dear evan hansen lady again she can get her check and get out
Hinoto oh god im trying to avoid spoilers for these but like....im actually putting reese Witherspoon here because i remembered who i wanted for karen so BUT ANYWAYS they do it its split its every bad DID movie youve ever seen im so sorry
Arashi okay i have a vision here this time they swap arashi and soratas genders arashi is now a dude and sorata is a lady for pretty much no reason but omg sword? Lets make arashi a man so they can be another stoic edgy boy for the collection. I think they get simu liu fress off the marvel presses and he gets absolutely nothing to work with because they looked at arashi and were like okay theyre just 😐 100% of the time and thats theyre only deal
Sorata is awkwafina because they do let sorata be comic relief but also thats all they are now but also theyre not funny at all </3 except theyre also kamuis new love interest 🥺🥺🥺 and they kiss at the climax where the power of love saves the day and everyone hugs it out and like idk they solve climate change. Also they let sorata be bi but its in blink and you miss it stuff like the shit they pulled with loki and everyone calls it amazing representation
Karen is anya taylor joy and they cannot handle her being a sex worker well AT ALL she has to be saved by motherhood to nataku 🥺🥺🥺🥺 where she quits her job and like idk starts a daycare or some shit in the epilogue
Subaru god i just want to cast nick Robinson from love simon again sorry hes typecast as milquetoast white gay to me which is what they make subaru his entire personality is pining after Seishirou like hes not even really kamuis brother figure hes just some guy here :(
Yuzuriha and aoki dont exist sorry they have to make cuts somewhere </3
Nataku is brianna hildebrand because when you suggested the hollywood nonbinary is a cis girl with a buzzcut she came to mind because she was negasonic teenage warhead in deadpool so xyqvzu1vziwjs they probably let nataku be nonbinary but they dont say it and probably use she/her pronouns more than half the time and they definitely 100% have karen call them her daughter at some point
Seishirou is armie hammer hes got experience with predatory age gap gay relationships after call me by your name so hes getting typecasted now too and because timothee chalamet his former co star is on the cast kamui...kamui x Seishirou becomes popular online :(
Kanoe....and this is the big one...kanoe is scarlett Johansson who is managing somehow to whitewash harder than the rest of the white cast. I think they keep all her sexy dresses and flirting with ppl and shit but like...and this one hurts...they make her a predatory lesbian stereotype with satsuki and shes the big bad irredeemable villain they kill to solve climate change or whatever and then satsuki marries yuto and they live happily ever after in a big old nuclear family
Satsuki is kristen wiig basically just being cheetah from wonder woman 1984 all over again and its worse this time and shes basically just there so kanoe can be a big old evil lesbian to a cishet woman and they definitely make jokes like just because i have short hair doesnt mean im a lesbian 🤪🤪🤪 and everyone insists this cant be homophobic because they made seisub canon and thats gay so!!!
Yuto is here i was gonna cut him but hes satsukis love interest and he definitely defects out of love for satsuki and he wants to kill kanoe to get her away from satsuki and its portrayed as really heroic. It doesnt matter who he is he sucks so like lets go with chris evans. Also they make a ton of aquaman jokes.
They cut the rest of the dragons of earth sorry
Other points
They completely cut all the references to shrines and stuff like sorata being Buddhist and basically just make it a standard magic system EXCEPT for arashi because they didnt whitewash them which ends up being worse than if they never tried at all
I do think m night shyamalan would kill to direct this
No one dies except kanoe and maaaybe fuuma if fuuma dies he redeems himself right before the end so its so sad like think kylo ren or some shit
Takes place 100% in new york
Add your own to make it worse :)

I have thoughts about Willow's sexual identity within the show and I would like to make it your problem. I don't understand why they didn't make her bisexual when it was canon that she was in love with Xander her whole childhood and then Oz. Like making her bisexual dating a lesbian would have been 100% fine so I'm always bothered by jokes in the show where Willow makes lights of her previous feelings for Xander or even Oz when the narrative had dedicated so much time to make them real. Idk idk.
sorry for taking so long, i just have a lot of opinions about this and i needed time to collect my thoughts.
so i have a big problem with this, both from a lesbian perspective, as well as from a general character perspective. people who say these things clearly don’t understand the experiences of lesbians in society, so i’m gonna try to explain why willow as a lesbian absolutely makes sense, as well as why it isn’t bi erasure, and what exactly is. trying to force a lesbian character to be bisexual is very harmful to how people view real life lesbians so i hope you reconsider your opinion.
let’s take a look at willow’s crush on xander. it’s made very clear by the show that growing up willow did not have a lot of friends, and she was very insecure of her social status. xander is one of the few people who gave her attention and didn’t treat her horribly. compulsory heterosexuality is a thing that all lesbians grow up experiencing, and it’s amplified if you already feel insecure about your place in the world. when i was young i crushed on one of my guy friends for the simple reason that he was funny, and later i was embarrassed about it because of how clearly i had never actually liked him. the fact that willow liked a man who was already a close friend of hers doesn’t mean that she likes men, and every lesbian will attest to that. she interprets her platonic feelings of admiration and validation as romantic because she doesn’t know anything else. she doesn’t know that loving women is possible so she tries to force herself into loving a man.
now let’s look at oz. i love oz, and i believe his kindness is what drew willow to him. he didn’t express toxic masculinity the way that xander did, and he never forced her into anything. not only that, but dating a guy in a band helped her break out of viewing herself as a socially undesirable nerd, and think of herself as worthy of love and respect. part of why their breakup was so hard on willow was because she lost someone who helped reaffirm her identity and worth.
the fact that a sapphic woman had a relationship with a man as a teenager doesn’t mean that they have to be bi. no relationship in your teens should define who you are. there are tons of lesbians out there who have had relationships with men, sometimes even ended up getting married and starting a family with a man, only to find out later on that their attraction wasn’t real. willow clearly loved both oz and xander, but that doesn’t mean that she was ever truly attracted to them, which is ultimately what sexual orientation is about.
i’d say willow never truly got over her insecurities, and this property is still prevalent in her relationships with women as well (but that’s a discussion for another day). the main difference is that she no longer forces herself to love men because she knows that loving women is okay, and, like me, once she accepted her attraction for women she stopped desiring men altogether.  saying that you hate how she makes light of her sexuality and her past relationships with men is rooted in ignorance and lesbophobia. she makes jokes about it because it is a natural thing to do. everyone laughs about the stupid things they did and felt when they were young.
that doesn’t mean that the writers weren’t motivated by bi erasure. it’s true that bisexuality wasn’t as mainstream in the 90s as it is today, so i doubt they even considered it for willow, but even if they kept bisexual people in mind they still could have made her a lesbian. let’s look at some real examples of bi erasure in the buffyverse:
buffy summers - in s3 she shows lots of chemistry towards faith, and their relationship is romantically coded (mainly in faith’s similarities to s2 angel’s arc). then later in the comics she literally sleeps with a woman and calls it the best night of her life, but the writers insist on other characters calling it an ‘experiment’ and not letting her delve into her feelings for women.
xander harris - it’s debated whether or not he’s gay or bi, but he constantly jokes about finding men attractive (”can i have sex with riley too?” “two guys rassling, but not in a gay way” “you didn’t tell me he was attractive”). this is because the writers intended for him to be gay instead of willow, but it still left its mark on the show, even after willow came out (”spike is strong and mysterious and sort of compact but well muscled”).
the entire whirlwind - they have canonically all had sex with each other, yet they are never called bisexual, and they are never shown experiencing attraction to the same sex in a way that isn’t explicity shown as evil.
there are a ton more examples, and times when 'straight’ characters make gay jokes, but that would’ve made this post way longer than it already is.
tldr; willow is a lesbian, her relationships to oz and xander is deeper that plain ole romance, and bi erasure is a huge problem in the buffyverse but willow is not an example of that. i hope this made sense, and if you need any clarification on anything feel free to ask.

ok so this trip down memory lane kind of leads neatly into what I was wanting to talk about last night (even though it’s past 4am again oops)
which is the gendered nature of queerbaiting and of bi/homophobia
like last night @silly-slacker-person and I were talking about Glee and about how like...the Brittana relationship started with the improvised line “if having sex was dating, Santana and I would be dating” and how that fits into a Pattern
where queerbaiting with male characters is about emotional intimacy but They Can Never Kiss Or Touch Sexually, queerbaiting with female characters is...weird.
queerbaiting with female characters is often almost the inverse of queerbaiting with male characters. female characters will kiss on screen, touch constantly, and even actually have sex with each other, but the story will still regularly insist they’re straight. and romance is off-limits. emotional intimacy is withheld. it’s always waved away with being a performance, or an experiment, or a thing they’re doing because they’re horny and don’t have a boyfriend.
and think about how often queerbaiting with women involves maneuvering them into a situation where they kiss onscreen but in a purely performative way (the example that springs inevitably to mind is Veronica and Betty in Riverdale - images of them kissing were all over the marketing for the show, and in reality they kissed as part of a choreographed performance in-story - I can also think of several examples where it’s as part of a game, a dare or because their boyfriends tell them to/to titillate their boyfriends) or like...it’s not technically Queerbaiting but how often women specifically are made bisexual but only in a teehee coy ‘it’s sexy when girls kiss’ way.
whereas queerbaiting with men is an “I love you...bro” or a quiet moment or a point of emotional intimacy and them touching remotely sexually/romantically is seen as the Proof Of Queerness, which writers will often shy away from committing to
it only tends to become A Canon Queer Thing when men express physical/sexual intimacy (kissing or sex)
it only tends to become A Canon Queer Thing when women express emotional/romantic intimacy (dating, “I love you”s, or monogamy)
and I feel...Some Kind Of Way about this and how it slots into the experience of exploring your own wlw identity. how women are still assumed to be and treated as straight even if they’re regularly seeking/having sex with other women unless they a) reject men utterly or b) enter a monogamous relationship.
and it feeds into something I’ve thought about a lot over the years which is how thoroughly gendered the experience of bi/homophobia is (not in terms of how you identify but in terms of how the -phobe is reading you)
like ultimately it comes down to the idea that men define sexuality
all sexual contact with women is overridden/negated by sexual contact with men. women aren’t given the same power to define sexuality as men.
which means that if you are a man who kisses/sleeps with men even once, you are gay
if you are a woman, kissing/sleeping with a man even once will make you straight
so sexual contact between women isn’t threatening the way sexual contact between men is. however gay a woman gets you can always walk it back in the eyes of heteronormativity. but if a man Goes Gay even a little bit that’s his identity set in stone however many women he goes on to sleep with/date.
and ultimately not to be crass it’s about The World Revolving Around Men’s Dicks. literally. so much of the gendered construction of homo/biphobia is about a patriarchal society unable to comprehend the concept that you could sleep with a man and be unchanged by it. sex and sexuality has been framed so universally for so long in so many cultures as a matter of male power and that is so definitional to homo/biphobia and to mainstream ideas about sexuality.
and that means that homophobia and biphobia are very shaped by your perceived gender in relation to your attraction
gay men are threatening because male sexuality is seen as such a powerful, shaping force, that the mere presence of gay men could be enough to shape the sexuality of men around them. this horror of Being Turned Gay this utter distress at the fragility of heterosexuality is so foundational to the way homophobia is upheld and expressed. it’s vital to heteronormative masculinity to distance yourself from gayness by any means necessary, to violently reject gayness, because even slight contact with male sexual or romantic intimacy has the power to redefine you.
whereas a lot of lesbophobia rests on the idea that it’s a deliberate rejection of men, and a temporary one - you’ll find the right man. sex with a man has the power to change you. and because of that relationships between women aren’t seen as meaningful in their own right. like a lot of cultures prohibiting sex between men treat sex between women as a natural, expected adolescent experiment, or as irrelevant as long as you also fuck your husband. it isn’t threatening to heteronormativity to kiss, fuck or love women, until you say this is real and it matters. Then it’s threatening because you’re being mean. You’re saying the Not Serious Not Definitional relationship of women loving women is powerful, more powerful than the Defining Power of Man Dick, and that’s aberrant, and it’s also kind of seen as...childish? silly? like you just Don’t Understand that women loving women isn’t Real Attraction. you can’t define yourself through sex with women! they’re not men! women are defined by, they don’t define!
and as a bi woman who largely dates bi men, I’m particularly interested in the gendered nature of biphobia
bi men are assumed to be “really” gay and in the closet
bi women are assumed to be “really” straight and performing attraction to women for male attraction
and that brings us full-circle to glee
see Ty and I were talking about the two really offensive stories in glee which affected us as bi teenagers
he was talking about the story where Blaine says “I think I might be bi” and Kurt tells him “bi guys don’t exist, bisexual is just a label for closeted gay high schoolers”
I was talking about the story of Finn outing Santana, which is a CLUSTERFUCK. but aside from the outing, thinking about how everyone canonically knew that she was sleeping with Brittany but she was only put in danger when it was named as a queer love. like that she was still understood as entirely straight and Doing It For Attention even when holding hands, kissing and fucking another woman, as long as she didn’t call it love or a relationship.
and I’ve talked to a lot of other bi people about the experience of being a bi teenager and almost everyone who was read as a woman as a teenager speaks to doubting the veracity of their attraction to women, to being treated as an attention-seeker looking for male attention or someone going through an experimental phase. and I think that’s usually how we talk about biphobia. as being assumed “a straight person looking for attention”. but the experience of a lot of people of narratives about bi men are a bit different and so the experience of bi teenage boys is really different. for girls/”girls”, queerness is something that has to be constantly asserted and proved. for boys/”boys”, it’s straightness that has to be proved. even if you mostly date girls, if you ever like. kissed a boy at a party or expressed attraction to another guy then people assumed you were gay and your attraction to women was fake.
and the throughline isn’t comphet it’s. I guess...comp-liking-men. it’s the assumption that attraction to women is a shadow of attraction to men. it can’t possibly compete.
I have often expressed, often to girlfriends I just had sex with, my fear that I’m appropriating queerness by laying any claim to it. like they look at me like I’m an idiot but later they’ll tell me the same thing. and that’s a fragility that assumed-male queerness just doesn’t have. male heterosexuality is so fragile that anything straying even slightly away from it is seen as Deeply, Threateningly Queer. female heterosexuality is so default that queerness has to CONSTANTLY fight for any space against it - even glancing in the direction of heterosexuality is enough to negate queerness. if you sleep with a man, if you even express the opinion that a man is good-looking, you’re Straight Now. they’re mirror images of each other and ultimately yeah it really comes down to the expectation of male power
and also kind of...the irrelevance of women’s feelings in sexuality? the construction of all sexuality (including heterosexuality) as Male Desire and Female Acquiescence - historically society tends to not give a shit what women want, feel or love as long as they have sex with their husbands and don’t run the risk of having another man’s babies. it honestly like, not to get all Straw Feminist on this but it comes down to the subjugation and dehumanisation of women. a woman in patriarchy is an object owned and used to serve a function and a relationship that doesn’t threaten the ownership or affect the function (you’re still having sex with him and he still knows your child is his) isn’t a threat. women aren’t owners, they’re owned. if you say ‘actually I belong to this other woman and not to you’ it becomes a threat. if you start refusing to be a wife or a sexual partner or a mother it becomes a threat. but “passionate friendships” and schoolgirl experimentation weren’t just tolerated but sometimes actively encouraged as long as you still fulfilled your function as a wife fully. like you can fuck other girls before you get married - that’ll help you learn to Do Sex without having you Tainted By Another Man. you can keep a live-in mistress as long as you understand that your husband will always take precedence - that way you can have those pesky emotional needs met but you won’t cheat on him with a man and cuckold him. it’s only when you say This Is Queer And This Matters And We Matter that it becomes a threat. when she starts mattering as much as him. when you don’t marry men but devote yourself to women. now you’re Failing In Your Function. obviously this isn’t how it’s framed now but like. these ideas seem to me to have a direct throughline to the ways queer women are recieved now - as either Basically Straight or as Aggressive Rejectors Of The Normal.
idk it’s 5:30 am now I should sleep. but. this is such a rich topic I could talk about it forever.

What is your opinion on straight passing privilege? I (bi) don’t think it exists, but a close (lesbian) friend of mine insists that it does bc “You can hold hands with your SO (nb cis passing man) in public without risking being the victim of a hate crime.” I have been researching but keep seeing this same argument coming up, and I’m unsure and don’t want to be making anyone upset if I’m being ignorant here.
I think that there's a lot of fucked up internet politics around who is and isn't allowed in the community. Which is ridiculous.
Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Pan, Poly, Ace, Aro, Trans, Intersex, etc.
The only people who shouldn't be in the community are cishets, and pedos, none of that 'it's a sexuality' nonsense, it's predation.
The concept of straight-passing is ridiculous, primarily because it's all based on assumptions. If you're in an m/f relationship, and you are both cis and heterosexual, it's straight.
But here's the catch, if you identify as any LGBPT+ then it's not straight.
Two trans people in an m/f relationship is not straight passing.
Two bi people in an m/f is not straight passing, it's queer babes, it's in the name. If you're bi and your partner is like, straight, it's still queer from your side of the fence.
It's the 'pick a side' argument from another direction, this straight passing nonsense. Where you are villified by the straights if you have a same-sex relationship (or fetishised, let's be real, every part of the acronymn has it's own p*rn category aimed at straight people with a kink), and if you have a relationship with the opposite gendered person, the queer community gets cranky.
Two things:
1) Is this friend between 13 and 25? Bc they could still be working this out or being mentored by t*rfs, or had some bad info. IT could be jealousy or fear of being open where you live. Perhaps you could question what makes her say that; has she had a bad experience, or did someone say this to her. where are you Are you in america? are there snake wielding jesus warriors near you? Blink SOS if you need an escape route, child
2) Who wins when everyone in the queer community is divided and policing one another? Telling everyone off for dating this person or that person or not at all
I didn't get an invite to the big queer conference to make these decisions, so like, they're not valid. It's some pocket of internet active idiots who think they can speak for everyone.
What we need to do is stop pulling this bullshit on one another and get back to asking just why the fuck it's not okay for people who are perceived as not-straight or cis etc to hold hands in public.
There's a problem for every facet of the acronym, babes and dudes and theys. Lesbians are heavily sexualised by straight cis dudes. Gays are heavly fetisihed by straight cis women. to the point where even saying 'I'm gay' is considered to be an obscene, sexual act that you should not let children be exposed to.
And there's always someone from the opposite gender who thinks they 'are confused' or 'haven't met the right (gender) person yet', or 'they could fix them with their magic genitals' or mumbled religious nonsense. There's such intense stereotypes that people can't stand women who look butch, but also you can't 'really' be a lesbian unless you are' or gay men can't just be, like, a normal dude, instead of some flamboyant in-your-face charicature.
Of course people who match the stereotype exist, too. And they get no respect for fitting into the stereptypes either, it's just another reason for disrespect. There's no winning.
Bi's can't talk to anyone without hearing a question of a threesome come up or being attacked from either side for coice of partner.
Pans, same, but also kitchenware jokes. Both Bi and Pan are considered sluts and whores and can't decide or are going to cheat, etc. Or the 'you're being special snowflakes', 'choose a side', 'you're secretly gay and won't admit / you're secretly straight and want attention' etc.
Ace/Aro - everyone under this banner gets the whole 'you just haen't found the right person' or 'when you're older/you're a late bloomer' or 'how do you know?' or 'maybe you're straight/gay and haven't worked it out yet?' invalidating them completely and trying to push sex onto them. The queer community has always let Ace and Aro in under the Bi banner, and they are welcome. But the internet community, usually young people, are tearing each other to shreds over it lmao.
Chill.
Non-binary, trans, intersex. They have been here for ages, but people from one community try to destroy their credibility, despite them existing since humanity has. It's big on p*rn and fetish sites too, lot of straight dudes think these things are hot and sexy, but would spit on trans people in the street. Hypocrites (I mean, every second low-brow comedy movie out there makes a thai-l*dyb*y joke, and how it 'doesn't count' like yikes).
Nb has only just been recognised, which is funny bc society literally made up gender and the rules and pretended that was how its encoded in DNA lmao.
Transpeople have it bad though. Between the cis straights, the cis queer community (primarily t*rfs and those who fall for misinformation) and the fetishists, and the medical community who treats them like an illness rather than people. Like, they are afforded respect if they 'pass', but even then it's still an EW factor.
Transwomen are seen as 'men in dresses who want to break into women's spaces' and treated horrifically; assaults are very high. Transmen are seen as butch women, and 'gender tr*itors' by the Crazy Motherfuckers we mentioned before; their assaults are high. They're not considered Real People unless they meet the ridiculously high standards for each gender; unless they perform Right.
I remember, but did not understand at the time bc I recall i was little, that there was a gameshpw bachelorette style and there was a big twist. You know what the twist was? That the bachelorette they'd been dating and trying to win over... was trans. I don't think that she knew it would be the big twist, either; of the two men remaining, bother were angry and one might have been sick. Might be on youtube.
But like, that's funny to the non-queer community. They put a huge fucking target on this woman's back, put her in danger of being hurt, abused, killed, by anyone who watched it. By the men who she had 'lied to' as they chose to frame it, of their weird white american families who could have sought revenge. Like yikes.
And intersex people (called h*rmaphrodites for a long time even by medical personnel) were also a p*rn category and/or medical curiosity for centuries. Not to mention all the cases of parents who just went with 'make them a (specific gender)' if there was mixed presentation, at birth, and got mad at the kids for being like "Hey so, you flipped the coin wrong and I'm ___" even thought the potential for this was always on the cards.
And the parents often make a big messa bout how their baby ___ is dead and gone, even if they DO accept the person/child as who they really are. It's like, I get it they have changed but you didn't mourn their first haircut or lost baby tooth like this and that was change too, chill.
-
Straight-passing is a projection and a weapon. Like, is it the people in the relationship's fault that society looks at the pair and decides they are m/f, straight and cis? Nah, it's what people are conditioned assume and that's on them.
We can't bring it into the queer spaces and keep perpetuating that shit, because it's nonsense. Queer people are dying in other countries and your friend wants to being smart-assed about the fact you hold hands with your nb datemate in public?
-
Nonsense. That's right up there with t*rfs and the gold-star bullshit that was going on for a few years there. Probs still is among the younger people lmaoooo.
'Passing priviledge' is a myth, and it is used to hurt people. Vulnerable people and those who need support / guidance and assistance from their queer communities more than ever. So try to talk to your friend or try The Whole Friend disposal services, either way, chill.
The real issue here is that any of us are at risk of a hate crime for daring to even show affection in public. That even in safe spaces, 'allies' and those wise enough not to be openly homo/trans/bi/pan/ace/aro/other phobic are still side-eyeing you and wanting to talk 'for you' without listening to the community itself.
We have bigger issues than this, and your friend (and some others on the internet) need to get a grip and prioritise.
[Insert strained analogy about being pro-child but childfree in a suburb where everyone got married out of high school and anticipates you and your partner will too, no matter how often you remind them No Thanks. But you babysat the other day and people thought you and your partner looked like 'naturals' when you took child to the park and played with them. And you remind them, hey, chill, we like kids too but it's not for us. And they get pissy and pushy.]
---------
I can only point it out from my perspective, I'm certain there other queer people from the above acronymn community who can present their thoughts on the matter to and what it means to them.
Thanks for the question, good-bi.

001 - Kingdom Hearts
Favorite character: On the villain side: VEXEN IS BEST ORGANIZATION XIII MEMBER. Shoulda stayed evil, though. I like it when he complains and screams about everything and hates everyone. He's one of my favorite villains, just, like...in general. So fun to write. Also attached to Demyx, but I actually liked him more in III than II because it reminded me of my rawr lolspeek weeb days when I f/o'd him without knowing what f/o'ing was and then transitioned this to shipping VexDem like heck. On the hero side: MY GIRL KAIRI! But honorable mentions go to Sora, Riku, Aqua, Ven, Terra, Xion, Roxas, Lea, Ienzo, any Disney character I loved beforehand (this is way too fuckin many to list), Merlin (OKAY I WILL SINGLE HIM OUT), Yen Sid (I'LL SINGLE HIM OUT TOO), you know what let's also single out the Mickey+Donald+Goofy power trio...just...any KH hero who isn't part of the Yozora stuff or the KHUX stuff. ...Except I also LOVE Strelitzia, and she is the only KHUX-exclusive kiddo I care about but I care about her MANY. (Oh, and there's a least fave I have who's a "hero" but that's a debatable label). I would go on about why I love all of them but...that's too many characters to elaborate on
Least Favorite character: See, I think the real answer is Yozora, but the thing is I just tend to forget about him or not care (unless I'm doing a weird AU where he's Noctis' bratty Nobody, don't ask). He kinda represents the Shark Jump and I don't like watching that scene where he literally petrifies Sora for not being strong enough. But again, I can just kinda forget about him if he's not fed to me through a social-media unit. The one I LOVE TO HATE is Master Eraqus. The man actually triggered me back in the day. He is purity culture. He is the overbearing parent who will not accept you unless you are perfect. He is by and large the reason VAT didn't communicate with each other properly. He was the one who taught Aqua to think in absolutes. He lied to Ventus for years and then insisted to kill him was the only option, and then, when Terra tried to defend his brother figure/friend without knowing WHY Eraqus was doing such a thing, Eraqus didn't offer an explanation and instead switched targets to Terra citing that the problem was Terra's lack of OBEDIENCE. Eraqus is just very "my way or the highway" and uses his moral high horse to justify doing things that utterly lack compassion in any regard, which is something that GETS to me on a deep level, and let me tell you, I hated him for so long until I realized he was actually a super fuckin fun guy to imagine as a Bigger Bad in AUs that either have the KH protags teaming up or have villain protags needing a "greater good lawful evil" figure. And I just have found too many good memes about him cheating at chess and killing children. I have to laugh. Making fun of him is fun. He's a ridiculous character. That said, this recent trend of "erase everything bad he ever did and paint him as the ultimate hero of the saga" makes me raise eyebrows for SEVERAL reasons
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): VexDem, SoRiku, Kairi x Jaune Arc (RWBY), Aqua x Rosalina (Super Mario Galaxy) x Bayonetta, IsaLea, Ventus x Papyrus (Undertale), that was six but they all needed to be mentioned
Character I find most attractive: Ienzo. HOO BABY he is adorable. I saw someone make a Valentine's Day gifset of KH and FF characters shortly after III dropped and seeing his smiling face paired with a romance quote made my heart FLUTTER
Character I would marry: Probably Ienzo, see above. He's also a very kind guy. Favorite redemption in the modern era.
Character I would be best friends with: I hope the Destiny Trio would adopt me into their friend circle the way they've tended to do with every other inter-world denizen they've come across. I would love to have them as my positivity squad. Or, y'know, two positivities and one "it's okay to screw up" guy. Just. I would love to hang out with them. I often worry that I'm unlikable to my faves, but even though I would usually prefer to hang with the villains, I can pretty much guarantee these three would be open-minded about me. (Do I kiiiiinda wanna be friends with Vexen though? Of course I do. He'd hate me but maaaayyyyybe he would see me as one of his pet idiots who makes him look smarter, and we could bond over our fragile egos?)
a random thought: You ever think about that one NPC lady in Traverse Town who refused to tell you where she was from because it was none of her business? You ever wonder where she WAS from? What her world was like? How she ended up being the survivor of the Ansem Apocalypse when it hit her? All I know is that when I read her lines out loud (I used to read KH speech balloons out loud all the time), I gave her a Southern accent for no discernible reason and I stand by it. That woman has a twang.
An unpopular opinion: I don't want KHUX to be canon because I feel it's smaller-scale and takes a lot of mystery out of the worldbuilding. I always assume that the KHverse just includes ALL worlds in fiction, and that includes their thousand-year histories, meaning the Age of Fairy Tales should've happened long long long LONG LONG LONG ago and not five generations. And whatever screwed up the world should've been more than just five people having a fight, and whatever saved it should've been more than just five people getting along, and Daybreak Town really suffers from having to stick to mobile-friendly graphics and therefore is the least aesthetically attractive KH town ever, and I don't like that Lauriam and Elrena used to be such selfless people. I do still love Strelitzia because she's shy and relatable and quirky (sitting on the roof) and she questions authority and if you go with shipping subtext she's probably bi (or pan?), but I don't like the "Lauriam's dead sister for his arc's drama" bit. I liked when Marluxia was angry because he wanted to run Organization XIII but it was in the hands of an idiot who wasn't him. And more than anything I just like imagining that the Age of Fairy Tales was something bigger, further in the past, and more mysterious than something designed for a mobile game. Scala ad Caelum, however, I like a lot better because there IS a lot of mystery there and also it's a very pretty town with an amazing design.
my canon OTP: I really only count the Disney couples as the "canon" ones, so this is a question of picking my favorite Disney couple that shows up onscreen. I hope I'm not forgetting an important one, but I think the title has to go to Aladdin/Jasmine, which is always perfect in everything. (This would be an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STORY if KH had ever adapted Treasure Planet, and if it ever gets the mind to adapt Treasure Planet then even if I don't care about that game I will immediately declare that Amelia/Doppler takes the KH canon OTP crown. *taps watch* Get on it Squenix)
Non-canon OTP: SoRiku, which I counted as "basically canon" after DDD until III decided it wasn't sure. But I'm just a sucker for how DDD is the two of them all "HE'S GOT MY BACK AND I'VE GOT HIS AND I'D DO ANYTHING FOR HIM SO LONG AS HE'S HAPPY." It's just the best kind of Friends-to-Lovers, except when you take all canon into account it's Friends-to-Rivals-to-Enemies-to-Friends-to-Lovers and that's a very juicy dynamic. BUT ALSO: VexDem, which is a nostalgia ship SO STRONG I had to accept that it eclipsed my former Vexen ships by a mile and I wanted to go back to my roots. That one, I have a much longer essay about that I'll just have you refer to so I don't repeat myself for pages. To make a long story short, their scene in III was JUST DELICIOUS.
most badass character: OOF THEY'RE ALL BADASS but in the end it's between Sora and Aqua, because Sora gets the widest RANGE of abilities across the series that he masters while Aqua gets the most POWERFUL abilities due to her Mastery (Command Styles seem like they'd be the most OP things ever in-universe and I'm here for it because flashy battle moves make brain go brr).
pairing I am not a fan of: SOKAI, Xehaqus, RikuNami, Vanitas/anyone not evil
character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): OH BOY. KAIRI THE MOST. YOU ALL KNOW WHY: lack of screen time, Fridging for drama, forced romance to invite death flags (they really wanted to milk that death to get people talking didn't they?), giving Alyson Stoner ZERO direction to actually follow up on Hayden Panettiere's performance. But then I remember that they made Vexen redeem and lose his entire personality and I just...uuugghhhh. I can't believe he died twice in this series. And then Demyx is FUN but also I know he's flipped sides as well, which means he won't be fun much longer! Xehanort seems to switch motivations to whatever makes him the biggest threat (and several of Eraqus' old flaws seem to be mysteriously glued onto him), Sora isn't a motormouth anymore, Riku just doesn't get anyone who cares about him anymore because everyone's distracted by Sora and Kairi, IS ANYBODY GOING TO ADDRESS THE ACTUAL ISSUES THAT DROVE THE WAYFINDER TRIO APART, oh God Marluxia and Larxene you're good guys now what have they done to you
favourite friendship: I really like each of the trios. But you know what's even BETTER than the trios? If you put...all of the trios together...meaning Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Aqua, Terra, Ven, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Hayner, Pence, Olette...and then you added Isa back in there...and you gave them Ienzo...and you brought back Naminé...and you say that Subject X is Strelitzia and you have her turn back up so she can have justice done...AND YOU HAVE AN ULTRA KEYBLADE GROUP OF FRIENDS. As for Vexen, any purely platonic relationship I have for him is a crossover but trust me I have many crossover pals for he
character I want to adopt or be adopted by: See everyone I listed above in the friendship question. They can either mentor me or let me be their big sis/mom. But also, I will GLADLY be Merlin or Yen Sid's daughter. (But also would I kiiiiinda wanna be a VexDem daughter? This is the worst idea. Still wanna try)

I’m a mentally ill gay women, so OF COURSE I know and listen to wayyyy too much Mitski. Headcanoning characters as having ~trauma~ really jingles my bells, so here’s the songs I think each islander would scream-sing along to as they sob in their car parked in a Walmart parking lot.
Hope- Nobody
I don’t think her possessiveness comes from genuine jealousy (when she thinks Noah led on Priya she doesn’t act vindicated towards him or insist that she knew it), it comes from the insecurity that she’s unlovable. She won’t compromise who she is- an opinionated, proud, confident black woman who has ambition and drive- and because all of her past relationships have failed so horribly she’s lowkey afraid that no one will ever love her truly. That’s why she latches on to Noah once he shows her the stability and attention she wants, and why she so attacks other women for threatening it. So yeah, Nobody fucks her right up.
Lucas- Class of 2013
So much of his success is because of his parents and his privilege, so Class of 2013 struck too close of a chord. The idea of struggling to ask your parents for help (re: emotional support) and failing to be independent really just encapsulates his biggest fear. It’s short, but it hits on literally every single one of his triggers- parental trauma, running out of time, personal financial and professional failure. He would blow out his voice screaming along to this. And like… same.
Lottie- Me and my Husband
This song is the only thing in her life that addresses how she’s never felt like she has merit outside of other people. Lottie has very little concept of herself- so much of her focus is on policing other people and projecting a persona. When she first heard this song, she liked it because it had a sense of ‘you and me against the world, nothing else matters but our relationship’. But as she hears it again and gets a little older, it morphs into a ‘oh my god, if nothing matters but our relationship, what am I? Who am I?’ She can’t listen to it anymore.
Henrik- Carry Me Out
This one slaps and Henrik can appreciate it for that alone. But it also gets the aesthetic and bittersweet nostalgia of growing up alone and lower class (kind of like Lorde’s music. Henrik definitely loves Hayley Kiyoko, Lorde, and Mitski), which he relates to a lot. He doesn’t have a lot of angst or resentment for being alone, but can still really relate to the sense of yearning.
Hannah- Strawberry Blonde
ESPECIALLY if she marries a man (because come on, that’s a lesbian. You’re going to look at her and tell me she’s not? She is), this song hits too close to home with how she coincidentally always seems to end up crushing on her best friend instead of her partner. Plus she’s a cottagecore bitch, so she’d love this song’s melody whilst vibing too hard to the lyrics.
Marisol- Washing Machine Heart
Marisol only is interested in people who are unobtainable (highkey because she’s a bi with a strong preference for women and won’t let herself date women or just be attracted to people she deems as ‘unworthy’) and so a lot of her angst is about being alone and not being pursued by people she finds attractive. She thinks (and says) she has so much love to give- despite being very withdrawn and emotionally unavailable- and blames other people for not letting her give it- instead of recognizing her biggest problem is herself.
Rahim- A Pearl
I don’t know why, but this is the song that made me make this post. I was listening to it and though ‘I think Rahim would really vibe with this’. I can’t even tell you why? Maybe the internal struggle with letting yourself be know authentically and being loved? Like he’s happy to talk about his interests and project this ‘LOL I like ~cringey~ things doesn’t that make me so unique’ message, but he’s very anxious about building a relationship and being authentic.
Priya- Why Didn’t You Stop Me?
Priya’s really into big romantic gestures when it comes to love, and she definitely expects her partner to bring the passion, intrigue, and intensity. She wasn’t content to letting Noah get away with flirting with her but then not following through, and I can definitely see her in the past walking away from a man who needed to get better and he just… Never got better to be with her… She really vibes with this one- the sense of importance of self but still being angry at herself and others for what didn’t work out.
Sorry I can apply a lot of Mitski songs to my headcanon of Carl but he’d literally never listen to it so it doesn’t matter.

👀 give me all your thoughts I know you have them
Bette Kane
How I feel about this character: She is my everything. I love nobody as much as I love her. I am at all times thinking about Bette Kane
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Dawn, Hank, Charley, Barbara, Helena, Artemis, Donna & I think she & Luke Fox dated for a little bit in high school before deciding to be just friends
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Gar!!! Her & Gar are best friends & they shouldn’t be romantic
My unpopular opinion about this character: Don’t know if she’s known enough to have any unpopular opinions, but bitchy Bette Kane should be brought back. They defanged her a lot & I don’t like it, let her be the worst it was really funny
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I really wish that in the N52 Batwoman series, the Kate&Bette dynamic was changed so while Kate had all her military training & was older, Bette had more vigilante experience & they had to learn to work together & learn from each other
my OTP: Hank/Dawn/Bette has a special place in my heart, I’m an eternal sucker for ArtyBette, but when it comes down to it... Bettenelli is simply superior
my cross over ship: *looking pointedly at my drafts* well gee I guess I think her & Danny Rand would have a fun dynamic. Also, Betty Brant for that good ole hero/reporter dynamic
a headcanon fact: she’s bisexual, she is, it’s a fact
Danny Rand
How I feel about this character: I’ve only recently gotten into Iron Fist comics but listen. LISTEN. He’s the love of my life, okay? Got it? I would die for this dumbass idiot disaster man
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Luke, Luke&Jess, Misty, Brenda because I thought they were just funny, Matt, I read a surprisingly good Peter fic so hm. Something there
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Colleen. I know they’re the main romance of the Netflix series, I know they had a thing for a little bit in the comics, but shut up, she’s his exhausted best friend
My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s not annoying. After Netflix, I think that’s an unpopular opinion
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish his TV show didn’t suck balls. I wish that The Living Weapon wasn’t canon (but Pei & Brenda stick around). I wish Marvel would pull the trigger & admit that he & Luke are in love
my OTP: Danny/Misty because they’re cute okay shut up Danny really loves her!!! & obviously Jess/Luke/Danny but in that specific order. Jess & Danny are both dating Luke but they aren’t dating each other, they’re just bffs
my cross over ship: The one mentioned above but also, in whatever universe where DC & Marvel are co-existing, I think he had a fling with Oliver Queen before Ollie went to the island
a headcanon fact: He’s Asian-American. Fuck Marvel
Felicia Hardy
How I feel about this character: My mean wife. I would let her murder me without any hesitation she’s so pretty
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Peter, MJ & Cindy. Matt is allowed but only if it’s a disaster. Danny Rand has a crush on her which she thinks is adorable
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Johnny!!!! They’re funny little shits & they should be allowed to get in more hijinks together. All the Marvel Divas, I like Felicia having friends
My unpopular opinion about this character: Plot twist assholes she was in love with Peter Parker the entire goddamn time re: everyone who keeps trying to insist that Felicia has only ever loved Spider-Man. Shut up, they’re the same goddamn person & Felicia loves him
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish Dan Slott had never come anywhere near her
my OTP: PeterFelicia is cute, okay. SilkCat is where it’s at though. Cindy & Felicia... soulmates
my cross over ship: Jessica Cruz or Dick Grayson because she likes dorks but only if they’re pretty
a headcanon fact: I was gonna put that she’s bi, but that is canon & Marvel has just ignored it so. Hm. Dan Slott never happened to her, this lady was never the queen pin of crime
MJ Watson
How I feel about this character: I love her so much... angel... sweetie... darling...
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Peter, Felicia & Gwen, some goddamn respect
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Harry
My unpopular opinion about this character: All opinions about MJ are inherently unpopular (as she would want) but Marvel should stop moving her away from the arts re: her being a reporter in PS4, that weird nightclub thing, etc. I’d say TAMJ was a step in the right direction except I hate that book so :/
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she was still married to Peter. Also, that she’d get her own MJ-As-Spider-Woman AU. Or MJ as a superhero in general
my OTP: GwenMJ & PeterMJ & especially PeterGwenMJ
my cross over ship: MJ Waston date Koriand’r challenge
a headcanon fact: She is not straight. Or cis, for that matter
Peter Parker
How I feel about this character: Look at the little bastard man off to do his little bastard things... will he make good choices? No! Will I continue to support him regardless? Yes!
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Okay, here we go, damn: Johnny, MJ, Gwen, Harry, Flash, Ned in the MCU shut up we all know why it isn’t popular (see: racism), he’s definitely at least made out with Bobby, more that I can’t think of right now, Felicia Hardy
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Matt Murdock. No, shut up, their friendship is important to me specifically, they just love each other a lot, okay? And it’s unconditional &nstupid & they’re dumb & I love them. Jessica Jones, too, because I think the idea of her having a crush on him in high school & local hoe Peter Parker not noticing is funny
My unpopular opinion about this character: The only consistently good Spider-Man series in the past, like, decade is FNSM
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: In a very specific thing, I wish that Peter had picked up the phone & called Matt in the Sins Rising arc because Daredevil was such an important part of that original arc & I dunno, it just doesn’t work & it would’ve been really interesting to put Matt back in the role he played in the original story especially with where Matt is in her own series, ya know?
my OTP: SpideyTorch & PeterMJ
my cross over ship: okay, concept here: Kyle Rayner & Peter Parker
a headcanon fact: bider-man, bider-man, does whatever a bi spider can...
Elektra Natchios
How I feel about this character: Murder wife, has never done anything wrong in her entire life
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Matt & Nat
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Logan!!! They’re best friends
My unpopular opinion about this character: @ Daredevil tv series fans please just say you’re racist & leave
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she never met Frank Castle. I wish she had female friends for a change
my OTP: Nat/Elektra. Love Matt but he & Elektra aren’t endgame even though it kills me violently to admit that
my cross over ship: Talia Al Ghul. I will not elaborate
a headcanon fact: aside from the obvious ‘she’s bi’, I think Elektra has a dog
Matt Murdock
How I feel about this character: Himbo idiot love of my life make a good decision I love you
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Elektra, Foggy, Danny, Luke, Kirsten & Mila
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Peter (see: above), Luke, Nat, Jessica, I think it’s very funny when you put him in the same room as Moon Knight & Felicia
My unpopular opinion about this character: He’s disabled, you idiots, that actually does affect his day-to-day life
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish he’d go to therapy, no, Matthew, confession does not count
my OTP: Matt/Elektra, Matt/Foggy & Matt/Kirsten
my cross over ship: I wanna say Hal Jordan... specifically after the Spectre I think that’d be funny, if Hal just casually drops that literal, actual god was basically his boss for a while
a headcanon fact: he gets mistaken for Scott Summers a lot

What are your most favorite/recommended dramas? I've honestly only have watched 4 cause never know where to start once I finish one. Thank you!! 💕
Sorry of the late reply ❤
Here’s a “few” dramas that I enjoyed. Some of them fall into more than one category so I’ve written what categories I feel they fall into for each one. I’m going to write the amount of episodes for each show, but I’ll only be counting by (approx.) hour, so if the drama has 32 episodes where each “episode” is half an hour, I’ll write it as 16 episodes. Also some of these have several names, so I’ve just used the one they use on mydramalist. I’ve bolded my favourites.
This list might seem a bit daunting (as it is quite long) but I recommend looking at the specific genres you know you enjoy and just pick one you think seems interesting (there’s no shame in dropping a drama if it doesn’t grip you). If you can’t decide which one to start first, send me a message with the ones you’re trying to choose between and I’ll help you decide ^^
Action/suspense/Crime:
Bad Guys: 11 episodes, Action, Thriller, Psychological. A police detective gathers a team of criminals to combat crime in exchange for reducing their sentence. Throughout the drama, secrets are revealed.
Class of Lies: 16 episodes, Suspense, School, Mystery, Law. A highly successful lawyer falls from grace after the fallout from one of his cases. He fakes his identity to get the position as a teacher at the school connected to this case in an attempt to uncover the truth and save his reputation.
Cross: 16 episodes, Medical, Suspense. To get revenge for the death of his father, Kang In Kyu becomes a (highly skilled) doctor/surgeon and gets a job at the prison where his father’s killer resides in order to kill him.
Doubtful Victory: 20 episodes, Mystery, Crime. A man who was wrongfully sentenced to death when he was younger escapes from prison and fakes his identity as a police officer to help prove his innocence.  (Just a heads up: I don’t think a lot of people liked this drama (it gets a bit draggy in the middle). I liked it, but I think that’s an unpopular opinion)
Kill It: 12 episodes, Action, Thriller. Kim Soo Hyun is a veterinarian who is also a professional killer. One day he is hired in exchange for information about his past. At the same time a detective is trying to find Kim Soo Hyun. They both uncover a mystery regarding their shared past.
Healer: 20 episodes, Romance, Action, Mystery.  "Healer” is a special kind of night courier, that gets his clients whatever they want, as long as it doesn't involve murder. He is hired by a famous reporter to collect information on a second-rate tabloid writer. He begins to uncover the mystery of his own shared past with the two reporters, thus putting them all in danger. (This is a very popular drama that a lot of people have seen, so if you haven’t seen it I would recommend it.)
Mad Dog: 16 episodes, Action, Investigation, Mystery. A group calling themselves “Mad Dog” fights against insurance scams. They start working with Kim Min Joon, the brother of the man who crashed a plane killing the child and wife of the leader of Mad Dog. They try to uncover the truth behind the plane crash.
Player: 14 episodes, Action, Investigation. A private investigation team consisting of a swindler, a fighter, an elite hacker, and a talented driver is asked to take back property hidden away by criminals.
Save Me: 16 episodes, Psychological, Suspense. Following the failure of her father's business, Sang Mi and her family move to Muji-gun where they have no friends or relatives. After a tragic event, the family is taken in by the “Spiritual Father” resulting in them being trapped in a cult. Four young men try to save her.
Stranger: 16 episodes, Investigation, Mystery.  Hwang Shi Mok had brain surgery when he was a child, which caused him to lack emotion. Now, Hwang Shi Mok works as a prosecutor. He meets Police Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin at a murder crime scene and they work together to eradicate corruption at the prosecutor's office and solve a serial murder case.
The Guardians: 16 episodes, Action, Thriller.  After the murder of her daughter, Jo Soo Ji joins forces with a few other people to monitor criminals 24 hours a day and rescue potential victims before the crime is committed. Together with these people she fights to get justice for her daughter, who’s murderer is still free.
WATCHER: 16 episodes, Action, Suspense, Investigation. Kim Young Goon became a police officer after his father was imprisoned for the murder of his mother. The detective who imprisoned his father is the leader of the internal affairs investigation team and gets Young Goon to join in order to fight against corruption and uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.
Fantasy/sci-fi:

In honor of Pride, I’m sharing my LGBT Disney headcanon identities. Some have maybe one detail in their narratives that I took and ran with, and some are more commonly considered queer or queer-coded (or at least have more signs that I picked up on). Happy Pride!
Mulan: Genderfluid. I know that canonically she had reasons to pretend to be a man and that after she was discovered she dressed more typically feminine, but I have read some truly fantastic Genderfluid!Mulan fics, and as a genderfluid person who has grown up fascinated by Mulan, I like to view her as like me.
Shang: Bisexual. C’mon, did you not see his face when Mulan kicked him over that first time?! Boy was in love with her before she was outed.
Ling/Yao/Chien Po: Poly. Yes, I know they have a whole song about girls and in the sequel they marry a bunch of princesses, but they were super close friends and had really good chemistry, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they all got together.
Sebastian: Gay. That blue crab in the Under the Sea number is his boyfriend. And my name is Bastien and I’m gay, so Sebastian is also gay. I don’t make the rules.
Ursula: Trans. Listen. This is the epitome of queer-coded villains. She was designed after a drag queen. I’m not saying all drag queens are trans, but a lot of historically labeled drag queens have since turned out to actually probably be trans. And there isn’t a point where she’s not presenting as a woman, so she’s likely not just in drag.
Melody/Henry (Prince Charming): trans. OH MY GOD. This is my most bonkers Disney conspiracy theory. I’m sorry in advance for the long story with this one. So a year or two ago I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole about Disney theories and crossover theories. One theory was that there was (albeit conspiracy-esque) evidence to suggest Ariel is Prince Charming AKA Henry’s mom. The main reason I remember is that both are ginger, but I know there were other details. So the video creator was trying to figure out what happened to Melody between Little Mermaid II and Cinderella, but never thought Melody and Henry might be the same person. My theory based on this: Henry IS Melody. After LM2 he realized he was trans. It fits with the crossover theory without needing to explain why Melody was not at her potential-brother’s wedding. I know there’s a lot of conditions for this to work, but I think it makes more sense than the Melody and Charming are siblings but Melody is inexplicably MIA theory.
Lumiere and Cogsworth: Gay. Come on. Obviously. I will also accept that Lumiere is bi/pan and in a relationship with Cogsworth and Babette or w/e her name is. Doesn’t work as well with the live action BatB, but maybe Cogsworth is married and Lumiere is dating the feather duster and they’re also dating each other?
LeFou: Gay. Like even before the live action this much was obvious. Gaston should’ve A.) treated him way better, and B.) opened his goddamn eyes and stopped chasing Belle. (I’m on the fence about Gaston’s possible queerness though.)
Hades: Gay. I recently heard that James Woods, Hades’s VA, is homophobic. So now I’m headcanoning this out of spite in addition to, I’m sorry MF-er, but you played this guy ridiculously queer-coded. He’s gay. Deal, Woods.
Timon/Pumbaa: Do I even have to say it? They raised TWO kids together!!! Gay!!!!
Scar: Gay. That lion was queer-coded to hell and back. I know there’s issues with villains being queer-coded, but if he’s gay, I’m counting him.
Terk: Lesbian. Duhhh. She’s voiced by Rosie O’Donnell, of course she’s gay! Also all of her friends are guys, which I’m not saying makes you gay, but makes her butch-ness pretty damn overt.
Shere Khan: Gay. Sorry, I might ship him a leeetle bit with Scar.
Baloo/Bagheera: These two were Timon and Pumbaa before Timon and Pumbaa. They’re gay. No, I will not take constructive criticism.
Jafar: Gay. Man, there is a huge problem with queer-coding villains in Disney. I know he sexually harasses Jasmine, but there could be a few reasons for this (other than the fact that he’s a jackass and needs to STOP): performative heterosexuality or bi. Or power-hungry AF and not caring what he has to do to get it. I’m leaning toward that one.
Genie: Pan or Ace. I could see him going either way. I think he gets a girlfriend in the tv show, so likely either pan or panromantic asexual.
Elsa: Queer. Obviously.
Side note: I ship Elsa and Cinderella in the Wreck-It Ralph 2!verse. The bedroom eyes they give each other in the loungewear scene?! My gay ass felt that.
Merida: Ace. C’mon. She’s literally an arrow ace! Isn’t this a thing? “I’ll be shooting for my own hand”???? Girl is ace AF.
Buzz/ Woody: Do I have to say gay? Is it not obvious? Get out of here with that Jessie/ Bo Peep shit. I can play in the poly sandbox just like with Lumiere and Cogsworth. And we do not acknowledge TS4 in this house. That movie was a disgrace.
Jessie: Lesbian. I’ll take bi or pan if you want to insist she’s in a relationship with Buzz. She’s a cowgirl though.
7 Dwarves: Are they brothers? Or just roommates/coworkers? If they’re brothers, absolutely disregard because I’m not an incest shipper (okay, with the exception of Thorki). Otherwise, poly.
Donald Duck: genderfluid. Have you not seen that post going around of all the times Donald wears a dress and it’s not as a punchline? Donald is genderqueer in some capacity.
Live action BatB Stanley: genderfluid or bigender. He seems pretty chill about wearing typical men’s clothes, but when Madame de Garderobe gives him a dress he’s fucking thrilled. Stanley is me when I put on a binder. Genderfluid.
Kuzco: Pan and bigender. He’s very queer, both gender- and sexuality-related. Like he dresses as a woman in a whole scene and I don’t remember him putting up much of a fight about doing it? I could be wrong.
Feel free to add your own.
