i really liked my tags on this post so i wanted to touch them up and post them as a stand alone! i ended up adding quite a bit to this ''':)

What artistic skill does Izzy possess?

I think he has a lot of 'practical' artsy skills. he’s decent at sewing (mending your own clothes isn't just useful, it's almost a requirement at sea with limited possessions and resources) he's probably decent at braiding hair from having to splice rope- simply anything with roots in being useful I think he has done enough to be decent at by this point in his life.

Singing comes into this as well, holding a rhythm is important for certain sailing tasks, and while I think he can sing in ways that don't translate to shanties, I don't think he has utilised this in a long long time (so excited that we are apparently getting an Izzy singing scene in s2!!!! I need him to know he can have fun)

Another thing is I think he was a really good tattoo artist! I don't actually see him as having the creativity to come up with interesting and unique designs but I do think he is excellent at the act itself, and at copying requested designs. you need a swallow? an anchor? a ship? any common sailors tattoo? he can absolutely do it and it will probably be the best tattoo you have. it was always a mark of honour if you could convince him to do yours on the Queen Anne- he was very busy and didn't often do them, and definitely wouldn't do them if he didn't respect you. He's done a lot of Ed's 'quality' tattoos (though I think Ed also does a lot on himself), he's done tattoos for Fang, and Ivan, and he will do them for the rest of the kraken crew in the future. (he will even do one for Lucius one day, one of his own pieces of art as long as its not an Ed face or a dick. They understand each other now)

anything else? I don't know, I see him very much as, he won't let himself do things if they aren't practical. his canon whittling is as close as he gets and that's more of a 'thing to do with your hands while watching the deck' kind of thing. have knife will whittle

I think ultimately, Izzy doesn't let himself do things for himself. if you love something, if you have a soft spot, it can be targeted, taken away.

I do think he maybe dances though. He always plays it off as something Ed forces him to do when they're drunk/on shore but... he loves it- the motion; the reliance on another partner and the intimate understanding of exactly what they're gonna do next? I think he would love that actually.

I think dancing might be the one thing he always does for fun. He never lets himself have it, but if Ed demands a partner? Yes, of course, anything for his Captain.

(Ed always demands a partner. he likes dancing well enough but he likes seeing Izzy do it more- he knows Izzy will never do it on his own, he understands why, but Ed is Blackbeard. Nobody fucks with Blackbeard- and if he wants to dance? if he wants his first mate to dance? they're fucking dancing.)

but that's not the truth of the situation, really.

It always takes him a second to let his guard down, but he relaxes into it. He lets himself loose in a way Ed only sees when he's deep into the rhythm of a swordfight. And perhaps it's the same, to him- finding the flow of the battle, of the music. Feeling his partner, understanding them and being understood in return? It's all the same- but dancing is safe. Dancing is fun. In a swordfight there are stakes- and he loves the stakes, he loves that this thing that means everything to him matters, but sometimes, just sometimes, it really is nice to move like that in a way that doesn't matter.

And when they really get going- all twirls and jumps and frankly being a little ridiculous, Izzy laughs. A deep belly laugh, a kind of joy you didn't think was possible from him. But here he is, letting go at last. He laughs and he smiles and he feels such joy, the rest of the world melts away, and it is just him and his partner, dancing.

(later- much, much later, a man will play a battle song over their raids, a jaunty little tune that throws off everyone they fight against, and Izzy gets to dance, and fight, and feel free, unburdened by the weight that he's carried with him his whole life. They'll dance after too, and he will have finally found a place where he completely belongs)

While it's a popular headcanon, or seems to be at least, I do not think that Joker can be canonically considered to be albino, since his skin would be much paler than it is, otherwise. (To say nothing of the question of whether or not he has any visual impairments, which is a personal pet headcanon of mine, but is also not clearly confirmed either way.)

However, I do still think that it is an interesting idea to play with for an AU. It adds a tiny bit of an extra dimension to his nocturnal tendencies/lifestyle.

Essentially: After the end of Kenobi s1 Quinlan and Obi-Wan find each other on Tatooine and after a very cute little reunion fall asleep together in Obi-wans bed, tangled in each others arms.

Then they jolt awake 30ish yrs in the past(bc long-term obiquin is something that i see not nearly enough of and its one of my most beloved concepts), tangled together in the jedi temple.

theres kinda a moment of "why the fuck are you 17?" "why the fuck are YOU 17??" and then all the usual time travel realizations of "we're definitely in the past", "how the hell do we act 17 again", "what do we do about the future", "this is a remarkably inconvenient age to time travel back to", "oh shit what was i doing the day before" etc etc

theyre both sort of freaking out right then. yes, theyre back before the end of everything, and all the friends that died from the war or from order 66 are alive, and they have a chance to fix things!! but they cant do anything immediately, can they?

the clones havent been made yet, they dont know if sidious is even the sith master right now, anakin was probably only Just born and they have no clue where shmi even is, Naboo+Maul arent for several years at this point.

and even then, they still have to consider the ramifications for the changes they want to make. do they have the right to stop the clones from being made? would that even stop the clone wars from happening? what if this time the war drafts citizens instead? If they try and have obiwan knighted earlier, what would that do to naboo? if they go and find anakin earlier, will the trade federation control ship still go down? What can they do? what can they risk? what is even possible to change?

all they can do is wait. and go about their lives as if things were normal.

whatever happens after that is honestly up in the air. if they tell someone else or not, what they change, how they change it, what comes of that etc. be it a fix-it or a fuck-it, it turns out better than the first go around.

In reference of my tired rambling from last night

I think I need to arrange my interpretation and headcanons over Gilded Helianthia as I may be one of the very few in the Empires fanbase who obsesses over these things. This is what happens when a historical hetalia fan becomes hooked with these fictional minecraft countries. (yes, Empires is abt people who rule over fictional minecraft countries and everything I will write about it is purely filled with headcanons.)

So to start, is to have a look into societal norms in Gilded Helianthia:

Helianthia, being an agriculture and warrior based society puts lot's of importance on the community and family considering that fields and farms are cared for by large families and communities together. The larger the family, the better.

It is expected for women, especially in rural places, to marry and have kids, and is seen as a responsibility. Even with Helianthia's more historically matriarchal culture and society.

Women are treated equally to men but marriage and having a family is expected.

This is also expected from men in Helianthia even in cities and in the capital. Getting married and having a family or a "sense" of family (not required to be "traditional" or het) is the norm.

They are a very extroverted and social culture. Being "alone" isn't seen as normal and you're expected to be with people.

Now, is this expected to be the norm with any of Helianthia's historic rulers? Is it expected when learning about their politics and history that ALL their queens and leaders are/were married and with families of their own?

No

There were queens who never married nor had children like queen Zoryana, Lyudmyla, and Halyna

The hero Nadiya from the independence war never married nor had any lovers. Several accounts confirms this from those who worked with her. After the war she just retired to the countryside and went back to working on her family's farm.

One of the renowned folklorist and poets of Helianthian history, Vasyl, lived mostly on his own and never had any lovers.

Historically, there have been people in Helianthia who never really met such expectations yet it's still something many people expect their kids to have once their older and of age.

This led to some claiming and comparing their lifestyles to the likes of Vasyl or Queen Halyna and the likes. (Basically, what I'm saying is that there are non-partnering people in their history but people are still stubborn on what they want from others.)

So, what about Pearl?

Pearl was a farm girl from a town in the countryside. In a typical canon, she is an only child. In the Gilded Sky au, she's siblings with Grian who's her older brother.

In the fic that I'm writing it's just gonna be from the typical canon. So, no Grian. Which would make her as her parents' only daughter and expected to get married and continue the line.

Her family and people of their province bordering the Overgrown nation are matrilineal in practice.

Not that she didn't had cousins but it's still what her mother would have wanted.

Her family has a long oral history from the times even before the independence war when the nation was still under Mythland.

But Pearl always felt alien to the idea of it. She read up on the lives of their queens and thought of making her parents proud of her in a different way.

She was ambitious and really cared for her people and nation.

She'd tell her mother this when she was still 15 and her mother was surprised since "We're only farm folk here, we can send you to the city to study if you liked but running to become queen is beyond the imagination. Our family might have been town chief or lieutenant in the past but queen is such a big ambition."

But it was something Pearl still insisted on.

So her mother and father tried supporting her on her decision while still bugging her on finding someone to marry.

She had to keep telling them that she's not interested or she just doesn't like the others from their town that way.

Maybe her standards are too high, she'd think. She doesn't find any of them attractive or anyone she'd consider marrying.

When she went to the capital to study for university, she was met with the Vasyl Society and the Zoryana Women's Org. From there she started having a better way to describe herself and tried explaining this to her family.

She's never been interested in anyone, and not that she thinks she will any time soon, and she has no plans of having any children.

Her parents then accepted this as a part of her and continues to support her on her studies.

Now for a fic plot.

I mean, all of that could be a fic plot. I have mentioned at one point that I hate or find queer stories of "realizing their sexuality" or "accepting who they are" like over done. I want queer stories where the person is just who they are and they've already been through that arc in their life.

(Although I am a hypocrite for planning a "accepting who they are" narrative for my hetalia fic but I want to make the excuse that it's because I'll be projecting as a filipino)

But I really couldn't think of any other plot that has her as the main focus, where she has long identified as Aro. (or something of the like in-universe)

The thing with Pearl, as much as how the fanbase doesn't want to admit it, narratively she's always a good supporting character to others and she has no actual major arc. Her arc, if she had any, was to realize that it was foolish to ever trust Xornoth and that her bestfriend was now hard to reach with the level of corruption he's in. And even then, it ends up with serving Saus' arc more than anything.

"But Marga, this is fandoms we're talking abt. This is where an oc or a side character could be turned into a main character if we wanted," you all might say to me.

True, why couldn't I just make Pearl the main character during the canon events? What if she discovered a cure for the corruption before Gem and Katherine and instead it even worked on Xornoth as she also intended in the canon? No binding ritual to a crystal or double suicide with his soul linked twin brother needed. Or that she was always with Scott? Or that while Scott had his own prophecy as the Champion of Aeor, there was also a prophecy in Gilded Helianthia? Truly very AU at this point. And there's nothing wrong with any of these ideas.

But then how do I write about her Aromanticism then?

I'm not into the idea of having Aro stories having to relate to someone who's attracted to them. This is why I'm not gonna have a story about Gem's feelings over Pearl and Pearl not liking her back. Or the need to juxtaposition it with her friends who are in relationships or are in the middle of yearning. And it's not like she's a partnering aro either. I kinda made that clear in this post.

I hope I'll eventually figure this out. Maybe take a bit of a break. Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Perusing Twitter is always a very... interesting experience, for me. But the other day, after not having looked for a while and deciding to give it a go, aside from the usual psychic harm and another person’s AU that is somehow niggling my brain in spite of knowing very little about it (other than it’s very much a Bad Things Happen sort of scenario), I found a few neat headcanons posted by a Korean account that I sadly don’t remember the name of (and it was translated anyways, so I never saw its original form).

The Korean side of the fandom can be... very hit or miss, for me, personally (a lot of the time it’s where all the psychic damage posts come from, though whether they’re actually horrible or just give off those vibes because I can’t properly understand the posts and therefore lack appropriate context for them is anybody’s guess). These headcanons were kind of lovely, though.

For example, they shared my headcanon of Shadow Joker not actually liking the taste of black coffee, but drinking it anyway in order to help wake himself up because of his low blood pressure in the mornings; with the excellent addition of him adding sugar to it if he’s sure nobody is around.

Another one was that when it comes to the doctor’s office, Joker is afraid of needles, and can’t look whenever he’s receiving an injection- or I think that was what they were trying to say; also that Shadow is in a similar way, but King and Queen are unbothered, or at least a bit braver about it.

A considerably more angsty headcanon posited that Shadow’s scars on his face were put there deliberately by Clover as a mark of his leadership/”ownership” of another of his soldiers, which kind of checks out at least a tiny bit- I did notice that a lot of his soldiers have that mark on their faces, as well, mirroring his own marks.

In the anime, Cyan had those on his face before he even awoke and found himself in Clover’s clutches, suggesting that they were implied to have happened sometime after he fell into the river; though, one could take this as Clover having done it while he was still unconscious and recovering. He would have no idea about it, most likely...

In the manga, though, assuming that it’s not merely face paint, like Hachi assumed Joker’s own scar was, he would have had to have been conscious while receiving them. Interestingly, though, it’s implied that his relationship with Clover, while not great, is slightly less antagonistic, at least on Clover’s end; Shadow had no idea he sent the soldiers to the village that took his sister, after all, and they didn’t nearly kill him in this version of events. So, it may or may not be an actual scar; given that Clover decided that he might be useful, he might not have had as heavy a hand on Cyan like he did in the anime. So it could just be decals or face paint; I don’t know if the manga ever clarifies whether they’re really scars or not. He might’ve even just did it to mirror Joker; we have no indication that Clover put him up to that bit in this version of events, so we have to assume he did that on his own.

It’s all kind of interesting to spring off of; there were more headcanons posted by that account but I cannot remember all of them; and what I can remember, I’m not sure I interpreted correctly based on their translations. I’m hesitant to go too deep onto the account, though, because again, the Korean side of things is usually where I find the worst mentally scarring content (like general thirsting over these very much minor-coded characters, and a certain age-gap ship that is strangely popular nowadays, much to my poor mental sanctity; I’m sure plenty of them are mostly fine, but even the more decent-seeming ones give off some weird vibes), and I haven’t properly vetted them yet- which, to do so puts me at risk of acquiring psychic damage in the first place. Alas.

Love and relationships in Hazbin Hotel

Episode 7 has something interesting and in the song that is called "Out for love" is sung by a character that is referring to a type of love different from a romantic or sexual one, Carmilla is openly talking about familial love. Vaggie of course relates this to her romantic feelings towards Charlie and how she wants to help her. But something else interesting happens in episode 7, Rosie is properly introduced as Alastor's bestie. This leads to showing another type of love: platonic love.

Now to the main point of this post: Alastor. It's canon that he is aroace and as an ace myself (I'm still questioning whether I'm aromantic or demiromantic but this post isn't about me lol) I'm extremely happy to see myself through him. Plus, the fact that the perfect Tumblr sexyman is aroace is genius and hilarious, you can't possibly top this type of humor.

Alastor for me has been a great ace representation and I've seen myself mainly in how he acts around his friends or other people.

When it comes to Niffty it looks more like a relationship between someone with their feral cat or their crazy little sister. But it's still a genuine connection and a fun chaotic one at that, he even lets her touch his hair and climb on him. In regards to Mimzy, he has shown he cares about her and welcomes her with open arms. He openly hugs her, which shocks everyone in the cast. This is extremely important because Alastor usually only starts physical contact to mock others or to pretend physical closeness as a manipulation tactic (like he often does with Charlie). When it comes to people he hates Alastor may touch them but will quickly wipe his hand on his clothes, like what he did with Lucifer. Personally, I don't like personal contact and only accept it if I start it and usually I use it as a way to show affection with close friends. Also, they have known each other since they were alive, so Mimzy probably knows a lot about Alastor that the rest of the cast doesn't. Mimzy also says that they used to dance together. But that doesn't exclude the fact that she uses Alastor's friendship and affection to save her own ass and taking into account how Husk reacted to Mimzy, this isn't the first time she does this. Also, the relationship between the two starts to crumble after what happened in episode 6 and Mimzy seems to be the kind of friend who will pretend that they are still on good terms and still ask Alastor for favors in the future.

Now jumping back to Alastor's true bestie: Rosie. They probably bonded at first over their cannibalistic natures but it's clear that it evolved beyond that. Personally, I don't ship Alastor with anyone, but when it comes to Rosie I headcanon they are in a QPR.

There are various reasons why this relationship is so great and wholesome, the first one being that there is no power imbalance, they are equals. Both are cannibalistic overlords and are on equal footing in terms of power. When Rosie first sees Alastor she is genuinely happy which is something new because most people react badly to him out of fear or hatred.

Alastor respects Rosie, he even compliments her, in her introduction he says she is "the most darling, delightful, and dangerous Overlord of this side of the pentagram". Considering how self-centered and narcissistic he can be, it means a lot. Alastor would rather die again than compliment another Overlord who isn't Zestial, which he respects but out of fear. Alastor respects Rosie as his close friend. When they stand next to each other they give an air of equals, something that never happens thanks to Alastor's ego and sadism towering over everyone else. With Rosie it's different and Rosie can openly tease Alastor with the "Look at you, so polite! Alastor you can learn a thing or two" when comparing him to Charlie when meeting her, or "I'm just kidding, I know you're an ace in the hole" to tease him about his asexuality. This is something that not a lot of people can do because Alastor is obsessed with control and respect. After all, we see how badly he reacted when Husk insulted him.

He also harmonizes with her, he willingly makes a duet with her in "Ready for this". He isn't interrupting her, instead, he agrees with her and they sing together in unison. This is the first time he doesn't openly hijack a song or fight for control over it, like he did with Vox and Lucifer (although this also happened because this is Charlie's song, but who cares the point still stands). Also, this is the first time we see him dance with someone, instead of forcing them to join his musical number (like he does with Charlie on various occasions). Alastor and Rosie are in perfect sync and it's so wholesome and precious to see him being so openly happy with her. Many have pointed out that the only times Alastor is genuinely smiling is when he is with Rosie and it shows by his expression in his eyes.

Finally, Rosie is the only one capable of bringing the most human emotions out of him, the most obvious one being confusion. In the scene of "ace in the hole" Rosie manages to confuse and surprise Alastor for a solid second, which is a huge change of his persona around everyone else of control and manipulation. Also, it's hilarious that Alastor doesn't know what being aroace is, he probably thinks he is above all that.

He is openly relaxed around Rosie and lets her touch him in an affectionate way, something that not even Mimzy can do. It may be because of the height difference but Mimzy only touches Alastor to hug him and to emphasize he is a "heartless son of a bitch" and Alastor clearly gets irritated by her touching him that way and even moves her finger away from him. This never happens with Rosie and he even welcomes her touching him by not having any walls with her. It's Rosie the one starting the physical contact and Alastor doesn't seem to mind and he never tries to use physical contact to take advantage of her like he does with other characters. Rosie is one of the few people who can touch Alastor without losing an arm and instead have a positive reaction out of him.

The most genuine relationship Alastor has is with Rosie, he even has the confidence and comfort to stop his elegant and reserved persona of not swearing. Which he only does when he is truly angry, like what happened with Lucifer. Or when he is threatening someone like he did with Adam. Or when he is shocked when his microphone breaks. He swears to insult Susan, which is someone they both despise equally. Something that you would only do with your closest bestie.

Finally, let's talk about Alastor's breakdown in the last episode. We've already seen that Alastor is capable of having friendships that aren't based on an end goal. Alastor knows this but he rejects it because he is at the hotel originally for selfish goals and doesn't want his emotions to get in the way. He is terrified of ruining his reputation as a sadistic killer and becoming an altruistic who cares about his friends. Alastor wants to stop himself from starting to care about the crew the same way he cares about Rosie, Mimzy, or Nifty to some degree. This is confirmed by his conversation with Niffty, where he admits he has grown accustomed to the main crew and perhaps he is growing feelings of affection towards them in his own way.

In regards to shipping him with Rosie, I see it as a platonic ship or a QPR. Some people have a headcanon that if they had known each other when they were alive they would have married for tax benefits and to avoid the social stigma, which is the only right answer. When they first met in hell they probably had dates in cannibal town where they ate human flesh while gossiping and trash-talked about the other overlords. Which is exactly what an ace person like myself wants from a close friendship.

As an ace, I really like Alastor not because he is the ultimate Tumblr sexyman or see him as hot but because he is an extremely fun character that I can relate to. I'm grateful for the crew and VA that take into account he is aroace and take seriously that aspect of his character. I don't mind that the aroace representation in Hazbn Hotel is a narcissistic psychopath, if you want a more wholesome ace representation you can check Todd in Bojack Horseman or Saiki in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

I don't mind people shipping Alastor, after all, it's just people having fun, but you can't ignore that he is aroace and how this affects his relationships. So yeah have fun and respect and aroace community :)

Sun has a very short temper fuse. And he gives the impression of someone who deliberately plays favorites. Any kid who's not following the rules, he gets angry at from like a zero to 10000 immediately.

He absolutely plays favorites, and even a child who isn't nessasarily "BAD" ...but doing something outside the norm... Example, some child who isn't coloring inside the lines...

"THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR CREATIVITY, THIS IS A TIME FOR ART!"

Which is so interesting to me. It's part of his programing to adhere to the rules and the structure of the institution to an absurd degree he won't engage with critical thinking, creativity, or childish mistakes?

It's honestly just a cool and interesting concept in general?

Like an animatronic made only to look after children but there is something that causes him to be bad at it. Is he good at it and merely glitching?

Was he never properly programmed from the start and Faz Entertainment pushed a malfunctioning product out to recoup costs?

Is there something overriding that skill from an outside source?

Is something overriding it internally like some manifestation of the "ghost in the machine" thing?

Is it because he used to be a theatre bot not intended to work closely with children?

Is it just anxiety? and Who programmed the anxiety or did it develop because kids didn't listen to him, and now he's just on his last straw with them? ???? I look forward to fnaf canon answering none of these questions.

birds and their wings

Okay, okay, everyone.

Here's my piece, aka predictions, for the Phil and his wings lore.

He's not getting them back. Or at least, he'll be the last one.

Why?

Because he wants them.

As far as I know, phil is the only one to be actively asking the federation, admins, and Cucurucho for the restoration of his wings. Not only that, I think while it's a very common headcanon or belief that Jaiden, baghera, and quackity have wings and are avians, and this is accepted by the creators themselves, they've never wanted wings. They've never asked for them. Correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't watch them often, but the other avians on qsmp are birdlike and like to be considered birds, but.. it's not ingrained. And I say these things in comparison to Phil.

Day one, barely into the stream when he was on the train, Phil talked about his wings and them being clipped. IMMEDIATELY addressed why he couldn't fly, because flying is utterly ingrained into his movements, his thinking, and everything he does. If he's not flying, there has to be a reason.

Fast forward, Phil's getting more into lore. All of his lore is about the eggs and the federation, or his wings. Being a bird. It's starting to show in everything he does, and it's purposeful.

He's perching more, when he's idle. He's always perched high in his hardcore world or even in qsmp, wanting to get the best viewpoint to see what's around him, what dangers there are, and get a look of the land. But, he's perching in places where he doesn't need to do all that.

In forever's office. On the wall, which he knows is safe and knows the surroundings of. Whenever he's idle, he will parkour and climb to the highest spot he can reach every single time, out of boredom. But it's an instinct, and it's one he's PURPOSELY tying into being a bird.

Another reason- he's more birdlike than all the other avians. It shows in his movements, his words, even his morals. He thinks like a bird. It shows in every part of his character, not just design.

Phil treasures nature and natural things over everything. He likes large open spaces. He perched and builds on the wall, and then he COVERS it in grass and transforms it into a place bustling with life and nature. Natural, wild, a place where animals can thrive and live, like a forest. Somewhere where a bird would flourish.

Not only this, it's in his hardcore world. Which we KNOW is canon. Everything he builds is connected to nature and wildlife, or at least large open spaces he can soar around. Endlantis? The sea and life taking over the barren end, and it's BRIMMING with plants and animals and growth. The ocean monument? Come on, self explanatory. Nethervoid? It's a void, barren of life, but he has pockets of life and animals within it. It's wide open, letting him soar through and admire it and fly without fear. The spawn islands? Literally pockets of floating life. The wall around his spawn? A artificial stone structure, cold and unforgiving, being taken over again by nature, weathered away, and covered in vines, trees, and moss. Life is everywhere.

Now, qsmp.

Jaiden shows Phil his wings, right? She says she just "busts them out", like she's had them, fully functional the entire time.

One of Phil's first questions is "can you fly yet?" Because that's the first thing he'd do if his wings were whole. Hearing Jaiden is too shy, he groans like he's disappointed before saying it's alright. He asks if she's always had wings. He says he's glad she's got her wings and that SHE CAN FLY AGAIN. After complaining of his own fucked up wings, and how he can no longer fly.

Phil adds more lore to his wings, and connects back to them again. He says that with the damage and the amount of feathers clipped, he has to wear the heavy backpack to balance himself, because he's so used to their weight. Now that it's off, he can't walk or move properly without that weight being fixed. It's such a natural part of him that he adjusted to, he can't live without them.

When Jaiden spoke of caging the birds she's found, Phil paused, and he got that hesitant joking along but please don't be serious voice he often uses, saying "You let them out of the cages though, right?"

He's concerned of the detriments of being caged, and how birds need to be free and fly. Exactly what he can't do. He calls the island a cage.

Now, all this MIGHT be because of the cage for a cage punishment, right? But I don't think it is. I think this instinct was already there, and that lore built onto it and got him to show it more.

He's mindful not of being trapped in a cage again, but the harm of being trapped and confined and not able to fly. We all saw how he went a little insane in that birdcage, right? Dreaming of hardcore, thinking he was in there for weeks, and how it left him shattered and unable to trust himself and his reality without outside assurance. Aka, the pheonix. He didn't call cucurucho out for fucking with him, he questioned whether.. it really was real, and maybe thats why he couldnt lasso it. He relaxed when cucurucho said it saw the bird in the picture, and still hung onto that moment and HOUR LATER, saying it was still fucking with him.

And in the birdcage. He saw all his fellow birds, imprisoned, and the next time we see him? They're all free. They're flying around in the little space they can, while he's grounded.

Outside of that, he croons over every bird and keeps it safe. But when it comes to running out of cages, he lets the birds fly freely again in the SAME stream he found them, instead of making new cages. He looks after them. He knows the importance of freedom, and that's why he's an anarchist, that's why he hated the elections and the federation, that's why he plans and avoids shit not only to keep his little fledglings, his eggs, safe, but to also save himself from being forced to make a decision via blackmail or threats. That's why he didn't enter the election in the first place. He's spiteful and treasures his freedom over everything.

What I'm saying is, his instincts, choices, and nature is tied to being a bird, and being part bird is tied to every part of him. Moreso than the other avians.

So what does this mean for him getting back his wings?

Well, he wont.

It's power over him, now that the eggs are gone. Not a threat, because those make him spiteful and prone to lashing out- uncontrollable.

It's a promise of what he could have, given he behaves. If he listens to the federation.

The minute he has his wings, he's free, there's no more power. He's too buffed as a player to have them taken away again, he's too interconnected with everyone, and everyone will rush to his aid if he says he needs help. They'll never be able to harm his wings, and now, he's too anxious and cautious to fall into a trap. He doesn't trust the federation in the first place, immediately assuming their goal is to kidnap people, and he DEFINITELY doesn't trust messages from the eggs/about the eggs because of the birdhouse. We see this with fit, because when fit tells Phil he got a message from his eggs, Phil IMMEDIATELY asks him if he's sure it was real. Light and cautious, he won't step on the trap again, and he won't let anyone else either.

So, they keep his wings away from him. Taunt him with them, with the idea of getting them, in order to keep them in line. Why do I know this?

Well, they've already started.

Again, Jaiden has her wings. Early on, she goes to Phil's house with them, and he sees them and REALIZES the federation is restoring wings, or at least allowing people to use them. Getting his wings back becomes a possibility, while they use Jaiden to parade that fact around.

Quickly after this, Phil starts to ask the federation to restore his wings. Immediately when he sees them come to his house (coincidentally, some time after Jaiden comes and with Jaiden there.) he asks for his wings. They laugh at him.

Phil gets a quest from cucurucho, the being he constantly curses out and hates on, and he TAKES THE QUEST. Because he sees he can get a reward- something that isn't set in stone or written down. Something he can bargain.

So he does the quest, and then when cucurucho comes to reward him, he starts to bargain.

"YOU WILL RECEIVE A REWARD."

"is it my wings back? JK you wouldn't do that"

"def worth it for the god apple. still no wings though, y'know. Still no healed wings.."

He turns his back to someone he knows has a gun, considers his enemy, and doesn't trust in the slightest. HE TURNS HIS BACK. In order to extend his wings and show them to cucurucho, show it the clipped ends, the most important part of him, as if to gain sympathy or further plead his case as "this is something that is broken, please fix it." To set things to right.

Cucurucho laughs, and leaves. No wings.

This leads me to believe that the federation will continue to ask tasks of Phil, because he is strong and smart and will get them done, and he will use it as a leverage tool of "hey, I'm helping you, why don't you help me?" And continuously ask them to restore his wings.

But they know that. And they'll say no. He'll do more and more.

Eventually, hell realize they're not going to give them to him. He's smart. Hell catch on. So what do the federation do to give him hope?

They give others their wings. They show him that there's a chance, because OTHERS are getting their wings, so why not him? He must not have done enough, it has to be a possibility. He can still work, and he can get them. He just has to do more.

Hell continue to work, because he sees it as a possibility. Subtly, they'll play him to be their strongest pawn.

And when he doesn't get his wings, even after all his work, I think he'll start to resent those with their wings. Jealousy turning into a little bit of hate, a little bit of bitterness at something so important to him being treated so lightly, not as priceless as he would see them. Not as treasured or appreciated. Hell be taunted with their freedom and how little value they give to it.

Everything recently has been trying to divide the islanders. Taking away their uniting goal, protecting the eggs. The create nerf scuffles. People working with cucurucho, their enemy, and foolish ratting everyone out. There's tension, and secrets are being kept, unlike before. But who's been allied with everyone, and who everyone trusts, despite it all?

Philza, with his honesty, plain to see goals, and lack of a motive or physical thing he cherishes over his friendships. There's nothing to use against him.

Until now. His wings. A way to create tension in Phil's life, a way to make him bitter, a way to control him.

By offering him his freedom, they'll be pressing him into a cage even smaller than before.

A cage made of glass, impossible for him to see.

GROUP #0001 - Chayanne, Leonarda, Ramón, Dapper, Bobby, Tílin, JuanaFlippa, Trumpet Department of Convivial Condition Observation

These were the first eggs. The first batch of eight. Put out as a test, a blatant test: can you keep them happy? I wasn't around at the start of the server so I'm going off of a lot of hearsay here, but from the best I can understand the eggs were supposed to be a week or so(??) long experiment to help the two languages of the server come together and spend time with each other. The happiest egg at the end of the week(??) would "win." It was somewhat competitive if I'm remembering right?? That got thrown out the window as the eggs kept running, but initially, it was more like that. (I could be so wrong. Sorry.)

Regardless, "Convivial Condition Observation": breaking this down real quick. Convivial means "(of a person) cheerful and friendly; jovial." Essentially, happiness. Condition being the...condition of either the eggs or the islanders, or both. Observation being the act watching them that the Federation is doing.

"Convivial Condition Observation," or, let's see how well you can keep these eggs happy. And, alternatively/in addition, how happy it keeps you.

GROUP #0002 - Tallulah, Pomme, ______ Department of Subsistence Monitoring

The first thing that stuck out to me with this group was the fact that Tallulah and Pomme were found in very similar ways. Pomme was stuck hidden in the wall, and Tallulah was found hidden in the attic of the adoption center. If the third egg's name really is six blanks, and stands for MEMORY as I'm suspecting it might, then that egg was also hidden—to the point where Cellbit needed coords just to find its adoption center.

"Subsistence Monitoring" breakdown: Subsistence means "the action or fact of maintaining or supporting oneself at a minimum level." Monitoring being the act of observation that the Federation is doing.

GROUP #0003 - Sunny, Pepito, Empanada Department of Permanent Surveillance

This one is a bit alarming, I'm not gonna lie? The clear tie here between the three eggs is that all three were found on Egg Island. The name of the island could possibly have something to do with it? I really don't think I can pin down a definite decision for this answer until we know what the Federation was trying to surveillance.

"Permanent Surveillance," or, let's keep an eye on...something. Egg Island? The islanders?

GROUP #0004 - Richarlyson, ___ __ Department of System Analysis

I'm going to come in straight off the bat and tell you I have no idea what they could be doing in this group. "System Analysis" is incredibly vague, and likely intentionally so.

The best guess I can make is that the system being referred to is...the eggs. If EGG A1 is supposed to fill in the five blanks of the name, then this becomes obvious: the one time we saw this egg, ElQuackity was putting them through a parkour test. A parkour course is generally used to test skills.

...if I wanted to get really headcanon-y: Richarlyson's leg is canonically misdesigned. Running a parkour course with an egg younger than Richas could be the Feds trying to sort out what the issue with Richas' leg is/was.

Additionally, in the really headcanon-y realm, Romero Richas could be a fascinating way to show system malfunction. Just saying.

Post-canon headcanon that the first time Ian has to go for a long weekend away without Mickey (brothers trip or something) he’s anxious to get home because Mickey’s been a bit ~~weird~~ on the phone while Ian’s been away, ending the phone calls too quickly and stuff.

And then he gets home to his husband sitting too still on the couch and Ian’s like “what did u do this weekend” “……nothing…” and Ian knows immediately something’s up and just when he’s about to ask more he hears barking from another room. And mickeys just like 😳

And then all of a sudden Ian’s being jumped on by a giant excited ball of fur and he’s just like “… oh what did u do”

And mickeys just like “she was sleeping under the tracks Ian I couldn’t just leave her there it’s cold and she was hungry look at her she clearly hasn’t been eating properly! And u should’ve seen the shelter nearby it was miserable she would’ve hated it there!”

And Ian knows that right now is not a good time because they’re expanding the business and there’s so much going on and they’re already so busy… but he takes one look at his husbands pleading face and knows that this dog is not going anywhere

And at first Ian’s like fine but ur taking care of her and she sleeps in a crate “but Ian-” “she’s not sleeping in the bed Mickey”

BUT then he becomes the epitome of ‘dad and the dog he didn’t want’ and he insists on buying her the expensive name brand food because “she doesn’t like the other stuff mick it upsets her stomach” and the expensive dog shampoo bc “she’s more comfortable when we use this stuff mick” even tho mickeys like she was sleeping on the streets and eating trash when I found her but ok

Then Mickey gets home late one night after helping Sandy with something to find his husband already in bed and Mickeys side of the bed is taken up by some familiar fur. Mickey laughs as he gets ready for bed “she’s not sleeping in the bed Mickey” he mocks

“shut up. get in here” Ian mumbles sleepily and Mickey just laughs as he slots himself into bed between his husband and the dog
