I doodled a bunch of a little mermaid au stuff last night with no intention to post it but now I'm posting it anyway and making it your problem
This is not even all of it, gonna post the rest later
Gonna ramble about this under the cut cause even tho it started as I wanna draw wwx as merfolk it somehow developed somewhat of a plot??
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5
So the beginning is pretty self explanatory but some background stuff would be the Jiang and Wen are merfolk but the Wen were discovered by humans and hunted down to just the remnants that wwx protects in canon, and the Jiang (and presumably other underwater clans I haven't thought about) also shun the Wen remnants and blame them for being discovered. Wwx disagreed with the others about the Wen being responsible of their own demise and left the Jiang to live with them. They aren't in danger anymore though, otherwise wwx wouldn't just fuck off to the surface even if he would come back.
The Lan, Jin and Nie clans are human and the characters hold similar social statuses as in canon. (Also I was just drawing with no idea about the world and just wanting to forward the story and the clothes definitely reflect that being western but the hairstyles being from canon and the Lans still having their ribbons and such.)
Wwx meets and saves lwj similar to the mousehouse version, but him turning human doesn't involve a third party or a time limit because his goal isn't to be human full time. He does a ritual that turns him human but it requires a sacrifice in exchange and he gives his voice. He can turn back at will but if he does he'll have to do the ritual all over again to change into a human again. His voice also returns when he's in his original form.
Wwx has seen lwj before saving him and has a little crush and after saving him he finds lwj's ribbon floating around in the ocean and not knowing the importance of it takes it as a lil memento of him. (Hence lwj in the sketches not having it.)
Also the merfolk are a lot more fishy than the average fairytale mermaids, with having gills, webbed hands etc, and due to gills wwx can't stay above the surface for long unless he's neck deep in water, same with speaking, he can speak above the surface for a bit until he runs out of air.
So after lwj finds human!wwx on the beach thinking he's been washed up from a shipwreck he brings wwx home and they find ways to communicate, he teaches wwx to write and they both learn sign language together and go on cute dates and have a good time and fall in love. Lxc is happy for his little brother but also worried because their uncle had been planning on an engagement for lwj and mm and is not happy about wwx suddenly popping up.
That's about it around these drawings, there'll be more to come later. This turned out way longer than I thought but if you read the whole thing I hope you had fun.

i am being haunted by a kimi no na wa (your name) au with suho and og!lloyd where they keep swapping bodies and have been doing it for years.
like maybe they start doing it when they're kids and by some miracle they manage to keep it... mostly a secret. meaning no one actually really knows what's going but their families are aware something strange is going on with them. but because both refuse to say anything they can't actually do anything about it?
and after the initial freak out (because there would be a massive freak out by both of them they’re kids of course they’d freak out) they start comunicating in little hidden notes, maybe eventually a journal they keep on themselves at all time, so they can go on with the other’s life as naturally as possible when they swap.
but of course as the years pass, its not longer the other’s life, it just their lifes. after all its a constant switch, every few days suho has to live as lloyd and lloyd as suho, so the distinction gets more and more blurry with each swap. they’re still separate people obviously. they just happen to share bodies, names, parents, friends, home, etc. y’know, normal.
(read more because this got really long)
og!lloyd is still sort of an asshole because no amount of good parenting or not can change if someone is deeply unsatisfied with their life and chooses to take it out on everyone around them. but being able to go to seoul and experiment a world so different from his does soften him up quite a bit. also having to actually take responsability of something as he does while having to live suho’s life, eg, going to school, doing the military service, helping their parents with the bills whenever he could, does much to shape him up as a decent person.
he’s still rude and moody but he’s no longer abusive to julien and the staff and he and javier are in,,, not especially good terms, but also don’t outright despise each other. the only weird thing is that people seem to assume they’re friends? despite them basically ignoring each other pretty much always? it’s only mildly annoying so lloyd doesn’t pay much attention to it.
and suho gets to go to a place that’s pretty much out of a fantasy book (which,,,, little does he know) where he gets to learn something that’s basically magic, a little brother who adores when his big brother pays him attention, and two more parents that care so much for him and are so enthusiastic about everything he tries out.
also he gets to spend time with javier who’s really cool even if he’s a bit younger than suho and he thinks they’re friends, because javier always smiles when he calls out to him and they spent a lot of time together which is nice because he doesn’t have a lot of friends back in seoul.
of course everything starts going downhill when suho’s parents get in debt. things start getting a bit tense between lloyd and suho because they sorta blame each other for not looking out for their parents but ultimately they agree they’ll just have to do better at school and maybe look for a part time job to help out.
and then their parents die.
and they’re both just absolutely devastated. lloyd especially because he was in korea when it happened, he was right there and he couldn’t stop it and he’s all alone and he’s going to have to tell suho with a fucking note that their parents died and he won’t even be able to comfort him because they’re a dimension apart.
it’s really rough.
and back in the frontera estate, everyone knows something is wrong, because the young master looks like someone died and either looks on the verge of tears or like he will start tearing everything apart. and their family tries their best to comfort them but it's hard to comfort someone when they don’t even know what happened (and they won’t say anything because what could they even say how do they even start explaining what they’ve been doing for almost a decade now how much they’ve lied how much they’ve hidden and they both agree its not the right moment)
and javier keeps looking at lloyd with something that is probably compassion but it feels too much like pity for him to handle and he wants to scream and yell at him until he goes away but settles on locking himself in his room for the rest of the day.
and when suho comes out the next morning, javier takes a look at him and just opens his arms, letting suho walk into them and hug him as long as he wants.
but time passes and things keep getting worse and worse for them back in seoul and because of it lloyd starts drinking when he’s in lorasia and it causes massive tension between him and suho, until it gets to the point that suho straight up asks javier to stop “him” the next time he sees “him” going for a drink. and despite being prepared to avoid all the awkward questions that’d probably get him, javier just stares at him for a moment before agreeing. so lloyd finally agrees to cut back from drinking as much, partially because their grades had started slipping because of him and part of him just refuses to give up on everything they had worked on for so long even if at times it feels useless.
and then their family gets in debt.
it’s all they can do to not have a massive freak out.
they’re both panicking because this feels way to reminiscent of what happened to their parents in seoul so they’re just a mass of nerves and anxiousness the entire time.
finally one day, lloyd can’t handle it anymore and sneaks out to go for a drink to the local pub.
and meanwhile suho tries to distract himself in their shitty goshiwon by reading a novel he found online and that caught his attention because the protagonist sort of looked like javier.
and then the real plot begins lmao

This is mostly just a passing thought-turned-question I’m deciding to make your problem ask, but do you think anyone out of the bugs/group (be it mer au, lost in hisui, vigilante, or just good ol’ normal group o’ bugs) would enjoy DND? Apologies if this is a weird question btw ;w;
Ooo fun question! (I don’t mind this kind of question at all!)
I have way too many aus to keep track of, so I’ll probably just go with the good ol’ bugs to keep it easy lmao. I’ll also put it under a keep reading in case it gets long lmao-
So here’s the peeps I personally think would enjoy DnD:
Quirrel: Cmon, I feel like the game is made for him! A chance to weave an interesting and engaging story be he player or dm? I feel like he’d make a really good dm too tbh. I feel like the combat for him would be less engaging than the rp sessions - developing characters or lore feels far more interesting than rolling numbers to get the big hit on random mobs. He’s that kind of player to perception check everything because he loves exploring.
Grimm: Again, hes basically made for it - but this time in the player category. Specifically making the dumbest, most chaotic and fun characters to play as. He doesn’t go with op ones - he plays those characters that keep the dm on their toes and can potentially desynchronise or enhance the plot. Also just very good at the combat and rp side of it too. He is not above annoying players and dms - especially if Tiso is playing with him. Their characters would quickly develop the exact same bond as them: “Asshole” “Aww a pet name, how sweet >:)” chaotic best friends.
Tiso: Tiso is a sort of. I think he’d enjoy the combat and silly things you can do in DnD, but extensive serious rp can take him out of it big time. He would hate to be the dm - it’s too many things for him to keep track of and he’d end up going off track himself with combat. I feel like he’d engage in dumb one-shots, and dms (like Quirrel) that will account for his attention span and try to balance out a game for him that has plenty of combat scenarios to keep him engaged. He could maybe have small serious rp, to try to low-key vent or work through his own issues - but they’d be rare and he’d get moody afterwards until he gets distracted by a combat round or something.
Hollow: I feel like DnD is a perfect game for them to slowly embrace their own sense of self and acceptance. They’ve got a lot of trauma to work through and some hardcore projection onto a game can help them work through it without tackling those hard lessons onto themselves immediatly. Definetly a player, they have way too far to go to accept their ability to make a world as a dm, and would tend to be as minimal as a character as possible. Slowly you get to see their characters go from one sentence blank slates to getting more and more developed and realised - and oh it’s lovely <:)
Iselda: I think she’d like it! It gives her something to do whilst Cornifer is out afterall. She’s really good at the puzzle and combat side of DnD, but she’s engage with the rp as much as possible. I think she’s a more casual enjoyer - and maybe would dabble into trying to dm some one-shots should she get the urge to. As a dm - I think she makes a solid base and lets the players go ham and makes it up as she goes. It’s engaging enough that it’s not too noticeable.
Salubra: I think she’d make a really good dm, but probably wouldn’t enjoy being a player. She’d probably have a reoccurring character in any of her games that gets beloved by the players - so they don’t die but they don’t really benefit the plot or power at all. She just likes making funny lil guys.
Zote: It’s the power fantasy as a player. You know the ones - that take it too far and suck some joy out of it by trying to become the main character(tm). Fun to watch his ass get handed to him by a simply trap because of his dumbfoolery though-
Monomon: Another dm, one that’s easily noticeable more time goes into the worlds biology and ecosystem than the plot and characters. So instead her worlds get to be explored in the more abstract background world lense than what some other games are. Behold party - you are the Tiktik protectors now.
Lurien: In concept. He’s like me approaching DnD - adores the concept and imagines the sorts of characters and interactions he could have - enjoying at time with friends over a game. If he could actually do it that is. If he would try to rp he would go silent (mood) and trying to interact with players in a shift of their usual interactions can be scary (also mood)
Markoth…ish: So with Markoth, I think he’d be this really amazing dm and player. But he wouldn’t engage with it. He has enough trouble identifying moods and tone normally - and being in an rp session can throw him off. Plus, social interaction just isn’t his thing. But he’s here as someone who would be really good, engaging and actually save a party with his braincell should he ever do it with a close group he trusts.
Xero: On the contrary, I think Xero would really really enjoy DnD - the social butterfly that he is. But he probably sucks at it. Has most likely gotten multiple characters killed because he wasn’t paying attention to the trap warnings - but nobody minds his dumb moments. He takes it all in stride and more than makes up for it with his fun attitude and even sillier characters he brings out.
Isma: I don’t have much to say about her. I just… I just think she’d find it fun…
Same with Ogrim and Hegemol.
Annnd I can’t think of others. Not that the others would hate it - I just can’t think of anymore that would like it compared to their hobbies they enjoy more. Like Sheo would probably just prefer painting - no big major reason. Just vibes ig

The Psychos updated: they all died. Each and every single one of the psychos died. First, it was Patrick. He died in some random battle, fighting along his daughter. El Bromas wasn't even fucking moved about the love of his life dying like this truly justifying the name of the team. On the final battle, Bolien, Patrick and El's daughter fell first. It was the "Kill The Tyrant" mission so my fps were so low I didn't even see how or when she fucking died. Next, it was Walter White. He was a mystic, he was slow and weak, he couldn't outrun them all fast enough. Then, it was Yujiro. He died facing Ash. They both were surrounded, they knew there was no way to make it out alive. He made sure to bring the beast that killed him along to hell though. Now without his soulmate, Ash was done for. There were close to 20 enemies surrounding him, tentacles wrapped around him, couldn't even move. His last action? One last fucking headbutt, because when all fails, use your head. Now it was all up to El Bromas. He was fast, so he ran. He'd find the tyrant. He was the last hope, maybe if he did he'd end this, maybe his friends and family's sacrifice wouldn't have been on vain. He ran, and he found him. He had full armor, full warding, full health. He landed a shot, then another one after being first hit. A quarter of the tyrant's life was out, there was hope. I really thought El Bromas could make it as the sole fucking hero. But alas, for when he lost his eye way earlier on this tale he couldn't have forseen the repercussions, as one faithful 80% shot failed, giving the tyrant one whole turn to hit him right in the face, draining his life just like that.
And El lived! He ran away, he was alive. But... something appeared, something evil, a reflection of himself, something stronger that he was, and he gave him the opportunity to become one and become truly powerful. And after that... well, how could El Bromas not do it? He had just seen all he cared and loved die. He had lost everything. He had nothing left to lose and just everything to gain. And so the sole survivor took the deal, becoming one with his evil side. And so, the world was over. No more heroes left to defend it, The Psychos had officially failed. And that was the end of their tale.
