sebastian has been living in this small, peaceful town for some years now. he left germany to escape a monotonous life and a painful breakup and he found his new home in the middle of nowhere. he’s known as il tedesco (the german) and he’s okay with that, he loves his job, the people, teresa’s bread in the morning, going to the osteria sometimes and meeting some german tourists that pass by.

one day his whole world is turned upside down. domenico goes to his little shop and drops him the news that there’s a young man that arrived earlier that morning, suitcase in hand and nothing more. he’s looking for a job and a place to sleep and he speaks broken italian just like seb. he doesn’t speak german, tho.

now there’s il tedesco and il monegasco. charles — that’s his name apparently — gets mad when people call him il francese, the french. seb shouldn’t be annoyed by him, he shouldn’t be jealous of the attention he’s receiving.

chaos ensues when seb connects the dots and wraps his brain around the fact that he’s jealous of the girls blushing and giggling around charles, who seems to even enjoy it. realizing that he might have a crush on him is seb’s last straw. he drops everything and walks away. three hours later, half-lost in the hills, he understands that this was a dumb idea, and goes back. he ignores the worried stares he’s met by and heads to his house to sleep it off.

one goes to a god-forbidden place to find some peace and it takes just one (1) hot monegasque to tear everything apart.
