Sometimes I see old viral posts on my timeline and I’m like oh yeah I remember this classic tumblr post! And then the date is from 2020. what.

Sir, perhaps your complaint about “anything older than 20 years is getting labeled as classic rock” is based on some actual period distinctions (ala baroque vs classical vs romantic) but I suspect you are just railing the passage of time, and refuse to accept that a) rock after 1987 can be good and b) songs that came out before 2003 are old now.

"Bu dünyada iki zaman var. Biri mekanik zaman, diğeri bedenin zamanı… Birincisi bir sağa, bir sola, bir sağa, bir sola sallanan kocaman bir demir sarkaç kadar katı ve metalik. İkincisiyse körfezde balık misali kıvrılıp bükülüyor. İlki aman vermez, boyun eğmez ve mukadder. İkincisiyse kararlarını ilerledikçe alıyor."
"In this world, there are two times. There is mechanical time and there is body time... The first is as rigid and metallic as a massive pendulum of iron that swings back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. The second squirms and wriggles like a bluefish in a bay. The first is unyielding, predetermined. The second makes up its mind as it goes along."

We kill time. We save time. We rob and get robbed of time, we lose time, and we have all the time in the world. But no one of us is powerful enough to stop the march of time or slow it down.

I am not sure if you even still in the fandom anymore. But I stumbled upon your btvs fics. I noticed you are a spike fan. So I was wondering if you like angel as well?
Hello! I'm not really writing for it anymore (though never say never!), but I don't think I'll ever be not in the Buffy fandom; I love it so dearly and am still posting Takes over here on the regular! This is sort of a strange question to receive, though - I'm not sure if there's something I'm supposed to say? But in the interest of honesty, I'm . . . ambivalent on Angel. I don't like his relationship with Buffy very much; I think it's at its healthiest somewhat boring and overwrought and at its worst soul-destroying . . . and I realize that could be taken as a literal pun, but I mostly mean what it does to Buffy, my sweet baby girl. As far as morality struggles go, I find Spike's journey and the way the show really wrestles with the idea of guilt and penance much more compelling and relatable than the way it is done with Angel. I have at times had intense dislike for Angel, which I mostly don't feel anymore - and I think when he gets his own show and gets to play straight man to a bunch of people who are there to keep him humble, he's a lot more fun. I actually quite like the relationship between him and Cordelia, her character assassination notwithstanding, and his dynamic with Spike is also a lot of fun. So I'm not anti-Angel as a character, I mostly just think Buffy is at her best when she's far, far away from him, haha. Again, I'm not sure what you wanted from this question, but I hope this answers it!

getting older can be so amazing? you get more familiar with yourself. learn tips & tricks for troubleshooting your own brain. trial & error helps you build routines that minimize discomfort, maximize reward. your preferences/interests don't get set in stone, but you do find out which ones are going to stay with you in the long-term, and which ones are fun but transient joys to appreciate in the moment.
you learn that the world is so much more complex than you were taught, and that that's okay, and that there's an endless supply of things you can learn or watch or experience or think about if you want to. if you're lucky, you loosen up, stop putting so much pressure on yourself. if you're lucky, you learn to recognize that negative inner voice, and whack it with a baseball bat until it hushes up. if you're lucky, you learn to treat yourself gently, not because you are fragile but because you are worthy of gentleness. (i hope you are lucky.)
and some things will change. some things will get better. some things will get good. and maybe you start to recover from the dehumanizing stress of childhood/education. maybe you learn the power of your own autonomy. maybe you learn how to walk away from bad situations (which is a superpower even if you don't realize it yet). and you get to choose your own clothes. and your own food. and which relationships to pursue! and what you do with your free time. and with your life (but don't worry you get to choose that gradually). and that's crazy! and sometimes scary. and extraordinarily, indescribably precious.

Danny Phantom is a solidly okay, so-so kind of cartoon, unless you have specific Danny Phantom-shaped receptors in your brain, in which case it is sublime
