i felt so badly this morning, overwhelmed with nausea, dry heaving up nothing and then vomiting everywhere, sweating hard enough to soak through my clothes, that i had to tell my mom I didn’t think I could make the drive to my grandmama’s funeral

I wanted to go. so so badly. i didn’t get to see her before she died. and now I’m not even able to see her after. and I don’t know what to do now

I don’t want to be here anymore. it’s not like I can ever show up for other people when it counts, it’s not like I can do anything at all ever. I just wish I were better so at least, at the very least, I could grieve with the rest of my family. that’s all I want

It was raining when Adrienne was born. Maybe that was the first tell of the path she would be walking. Or, maybe it was the intention of her given name; Adrienne: dark woman or dark waters. There was some odd fascination with the darker things in life. Growing up attending more funerals than weddings, can anyone really blame her on that impact? Though, her nickname was Jynx due to the chaos that would spiral in her presence. For instance, her grandmother's ashes going missing when they were addressed to her apartment, or traveling all the way to California just for a once in a lifetime storm to be passing through and the festival being cancelled, or every color she calls for Roulette being the wrong one and her friend then going into the negatives with funds. Though she was labeled as an outcast and was seen as the black sheep in the family because of this, she still had something about her that drew people in. She had a great group of friends, and her fair share of experimental relationships. In short: she didn't miss anything, but she wouldn't have cared if she did. Her aunt was the one who taught her about spirituality after Adrienne had a paranormal experience at the age of 5. Whilst being in a Catholic household, Adrienne and her aunt would often sneak in order to practice their own eclectic belief. Magic, tarot cards, seances, you name it - Adrienne has dabbled in it. What no one was expecting was for her to make a career move out of it. It started in high school, she helped assist her teacher in their paranormal investigation group. It was through this teacher that she learned about anomalies and the role of the paranormal in anthropology. Her job as an investigator was just the groundwork for her BA in Parapsychology with a minor in Religious Studies at Stockton Univeristy, where she studied the connections of the paranormal and demons with the human psyche. She then went on to gain her MA in Magick and Occult Science with a specialization in Women and Minority Studies where she learned more about the occult across various religions and cultures as well as witchcraft and the impact and power women have within interaction, at Salem State University. At this point in her career, she can be seen as an expert in the occult as well as a demonologist. She actually works alongside various religious institutions, is still a researcher for a paranormal investigation team, and is also hosts a podcast about horror movies, the paranormal and the occult.

► PERSONALITY (DEEP DIVE)

Adrienne is one of those people who can attract and attract and attract, but still feel alone underneath the surface. She can be sarcastic and condescending if someone asks a question she deems as 'stupid'. She's known to bully as her type of flirting. She's actually not online, and prefers it that way. She's clever and witty and goes on passion-dump sprees about her line of work and conspiracies pretty often, or about her research or podcast. She loves people who have a sense of humor and can dish it back out to her. Adrienne used to not like being seen as a Jynx, but now she is sorta indifferent. She just knows something bad or weird is bound to happen when she's around, and it's just within her chaotic state of being. She used to be deathly afraid of the dark, mostly because she didn't know what was in it. It's still a fear, but she works through it due to her career. Adrienne comes across as intimidating and mean cause of her resting bitch face. This is partly true; seeing that she does bring hell to people and her wrath can be intense. But, if you're on her good side you have a very loyal and fun friend in your corner.

Headcanon time! (Long, so I’ve put this under a Read More!)

Slouching and Wounded actually knew each other before the war. They were on two separate groups of the same faction, meeting only after they’d already had cemented places in the army. When they first met, Slouching had recently gone through a divorce (Yes Im riding the train that Slouching is divorced, I mean have you SEEN their memory) and was still struggling, and Wounded had just entered the same rank as they were in.

They got along surprisingly quick, despite their circumstances. It wasn’t uncommon to see them together when groups mingled for activities or lunch, one rambling to the other about whatever was on their mind. Nobody was exactly surprised when they ended up together.

They did have plans to marry, but of course the war had to mess things up - so they decided to wait until after the war to do so. It wasn’t safe. It just wasn’t.

Unfortunately, they never got that wedding. Slouching made it out of the war, don’t get me wrong. But Wounded didn’t. They died while Slouching’s troops were out at a different area, and Slouching lived with the guilt of not being there for them when they died, only for the funeral. And that guilt lasted till the end of their handful of days.

They didn’t get to reunited until well after their death. Neither knew where the other was. They didn’t even know they were in the same realm.

When the Remembrance Spirits decided to venture out of the Repository and go to the Starlight Desert, Wounded split off from the group and headed to the rose garden, enamored by the greenery. It was tranquil. And a painful reminder. Slouching had once told them they would’ve wanted roses at the cottage they wanted to have one day. As much as that memory hurt, Wounded just... didn’t want to leave. It just felt right to be here.

And good thing they stayed. Because only a moment later did they hear a voice behind them, turning due to being unsure of who it was-

And it was them. Slouching.

Never had Wounded cried so hard out of happiness in their after-life. Never had Slouching done so either. The two bolting at each other, refusing to let go once embraced, the world now containing them and them alone.

They waited far too long for this. And now, they had each other again.

And they were going to make the most of it while they could.

List of things that happened to Nova to make her even more traumatized (all thanks to my wonderful DM Noah, thanks king):

1. Was paralyzed and nearly beheaded by a mayor

2. Almost got possessed and almost stabbed her friends cause of it

3. Lived with a demon prince (the one who’d tried possessing her) threatening her father’s life and ordering her around for like a solid month

4. Watched her lover get stabbed by her grandfather

5. Accidentally freed that demon prince that was in her head

6. Resurrected said lover but as a wood elf, possibly ruining his life

7. Came home to see her mother had lost her mind

8. Was so close to finally freeing her father but the king was killed and instead she got yelled at by a racist prick who sentenced him to death

9. Her mother killed herself cause she’d rather be dead than be Nova’s mother

10. One of her closest friends who was like a big sister to her was killed in a fight against earlier mentioned demon prince while trying to save her father

11. Had to leave behind her childhood friend who might be killed in a hurry to flee her homeland (whom she had sorta just played a part in killing the king of)

12. Resurrected lover comes in while she’s writing funeral invitations for dead sister figure and says he’s ready to move on, so she has to watch him kill himself and bid him farewell

13. Had to bring the corpse of her lover to his father and watch him bury him next to his deceased mother

Aside from the fact that Merrill is soooo very handsome and such a talented baseball player (two of the main reasons I’m fawning over him, lol), he’s also a family centered man with such a caring heart and protective and positive attitude. Ahhhh, I can’t help it…I simply love and adore him as a character.

Merrill is kind of an interesting f/o for me because he’s become a character I have periodically returned to every time I experience severe depression/ death in my life. I routinely watch this movie after funerals, after my eye surgeries (well listened since I couldn’t watch), and after having pretty bad depressive spells. This movie/Merrill have helped to reaffirm my faith and strength during these dark times. So, it’s like he’s become something of a ray of sunshine within my life admidst the darkness.

Soooo, I decided why wait, why not go ahead and add him to the f/o list! He’s more of a secondary romantic f/o, kind of like how Grinch is for me, Zach and Arthur are still primary, but Merrill’s invaded my headspace, lol. Sooooo….Added ✅ .

this is perhaps morbid but i love talking about death plans/learning about what options are available to people after their deaths. death and funerals can be incredibly expensive and i think one of the best things you can do for yourself (to ensure your wishes are taken into account) and for your loved ones (to help ease the struggle for them as they are grieving) is to have a formal death plan/legal will.

this is especially important for those of us who are queer/trans, particularly those who may have next of kin who would not respect their name/gender identity in death (i.e. deadnaming on gravestone, burying in clothing of your agab, etc.) without being legally required to do so.

i wont talk about my death plan here (idk if it would skew results but just in case) but when i texted my mom a few months ago to notify her of the plans i was setting into motion (i wanted her to be aware just in case of the off chance that i die before she or my dad do) and she was shocked that i had a plan at all, and told me that she and my dad don’t have one, which was concerning, tbh, since they are older than most parents of people my age.

a lot of people naturally don’t like to think or talk about death but it’s such an important and personal thing. i can’t and won’t force my parents to talk about it until they’re ready, but i hope this inspires you to give it some thought if you haven’t already!

Saffron City man Found Dead in Silph Co. Office

Saffron City police recieved an early morning call, Tuesday morning, following the discovery of a man found catatonic in his Silph Co. Office. Grant Emmerson, 35, was pronounced dead later that evening. Despite some signs of physical trauma, there were no indications that a struggle had taken place in the room, nor that this was caused by a Medical Emergency. Top medical specialists at Saffron City General Hospital are looking into this case to try and get a clearer picture of just what went wrong.

Grant Emmerson was a long time employee of Silph Co. with a focus in Public Relations. He began his career in the Silph department of Glitch Pokemon Research and published several studies on a phenomenon known as the ZZaZZ effect. He is survived by his sister, Mira Ramone-Emmerson and his niece and nephew, Emma and Maxwell Ramone.
